I needed a new desk chair as I’m working from home. I’ve tried a few before that are slightly more expensive than this one, and they were AWFUL. Broke within weeks and gave me hideous back pain
Then I saw this chair. My initial skepticism (from the bad experiences) quickly dissipated. Honestly one of the best, most comfortable chairs I’ve ever used!!! Equal if not better to some I’ve had at 3 times the price of this one!
Cannot recommend this chair highly enough!!!!
Quick delivery, easy to setup with diagrams, screw and screwdriver. As a work from home chair, I find it to be very comfortable. The mesh allows it to breathe and the cushion is so comfortable you won’t need another memory foam (which I had ordered BTW). I’m enjoying it…so far so good.
I’ve owned a Steelcase chair for a couple of years now but the gas strut stopped working so I was looking for a replacement. Instead of paying 150 for a replacement part I decided to buy a new chair and I’m very surprised to see how comfortable this budget chair is compared to a 600 steelcase one. To be honest, why pay more when this chair is absolutely fantastic. Great lumbar support, headrest and adjustable enough to be seated comfortably. Love my new chair 😉
This chair seems very comfortable at first, but as the days go on you find it’s not as comfortable as you first thought. It’s ok for the first couple of hrs or so, but after that it becomes a struggle. I find myself sitting in a normal upright position, but slowly I seem to slide down the chair, so staying upright is difficult, I’ve adjusted it to the full upright position, but it just isn’t enough, it could do with more adjustment. I now find myself looking for another chair, expensive for 6 months of sitting, shame it could be way better with a few tweaks.
After seeing my review the customer services contacted me with great concern offering to replace my chair for a different model, after using the new chair for a couple of weeks, I find it works much better for me, can’t fault the customer service of this company.
I really liked the clean design and it’s sturdy and well made and finished.
What I found after a few days of use is that it didn’t really support my lower back. Although it has an adjustable lumber mechanism, again well made. The problem is that is only directed to the central spine area at one height. Another problem is that there is very little side support for the back.
Other things to note are that the armrests that don’t adjust back & forth or at angles, only vertical adjustments.
The backrest tilts is positioned at intervals too big to make fine adjustment.
Overall I do recommend this chair for the price
Easy to assemble and very comfortable. Nice metal base, feel as though it should last a while. Glad I spent a bit more on a chai
I have this chair for almost 2 months now and I had no issues whatsoever. It’s the best chair I have ever had, though also the most expensive by far. I am generally not concerned much about the looks of thing as long as they function correctly, but I have to say the white accent on the wheels do look great. All the parts had given me good impressions when I was unboxing it.
I find it comfortable enough, though I don’t recall any chairs that I have found uncomfortable nor did any prior one give me back pains and whatnot.
Assembly was easy enough (following the manual), the parts tray includes a hex tool with a handle (instead of a simple Allen key), spare washers and screws and a set of gloves (which I recommend you use, the screws were quite greasy from manufacturing).
The finished chair feels solid, no wobbling, no creaking. The seat feels perfectly horizontal, no awkward tilt. Armrests also solid, formed around a metal L shaped plate, so you can be confident it can take weight and won’t snap off like some plastic ones. Base looks solid as well and as said earlier the wheels give it a nice look. Besides that the wheels roll great providing just a bit of resistance, so on my short carpet the chair tends to stay in place if I happen to apply a small amount of force casually (but don’t intend to move it). The air cilinder seems fine as well, I am not adjusting it beyond initial setup, so not sure what to say about it beyond that it holds the set height as expected. Has a little springiness if I ‘drop’ myself into the chair. Cushion nice and thick.
All-in-all I am happy with the purchase, after having thrown away 3 cheap chairs, it was a good decision to choose this one.
Absolutely brilliant chair, easy to put together, adjustable and so comfortable to sit in, even working for 8+ hours
This chair is very comfortable and sturdily built. I love the reclining function with adjustable tension to match your body mass. My did develop an annoying creaking sound while reclining during the first month. I emailed the support address with my order details and within 48 hours they had shipped a replacement part to me. Communication back and forward to determine the problem and solution was excellent. I use this to work from home and sit in it for 45 to 50 hours a week. I wouldn’t change it for anything else.
I’d been encouraged when reading reviews about the benefits of this chair for people with chronic back pain. I have been sitting behind my home desk for the last 18 months or so and really struggling by the time I get to Thursday or Friday, and pretty wiped out by the pain on Saturday morning – all to do with sitting in a fixed position for the previous 5 days, I think. When the chair came, it didn’t look overwhelming in terms of padding etc and I wasn’t sure at first. However, I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by what a difference it seems to be making. The adjustability of the chair (back rest, arm rests, head rest and height) means that you can adjust it to your needs and ideal sitting position and despite the apparent lack of padding, it’s very comfortable. So far, it’s offering me relief that I didn’t really think was possible!
I bought this chair based on the good reviews and I also watched a lot of Youtube videos too as research. I have been using this chair for 2 months so I think I can give a good opinion on it now.
The chair arrived quickly, in good condition. The parcel is massive but not very heavy, I was able to take it up a flight of stairs by myself. It contains a pair of gloves which you definitely want to use because there is grease on the swivel mechanism part.
I found it easy to assemble on my own, didn’t require any help. The box it came in works well to rest the chair parts on whilst fixing it together. Took about 30 mins for me to assemble it.
The quality is good, the wheels are plastic and I have been moving the chair on carpeted floor and it has left no marks. The head rest is adjustable, the chair leans back to a good amount and the height is adjustable too. There is a back support which I find can dig into the back a bit if leaning on it too long. The seat cushion feels more like a hard memory foam. I am 5″3 and don’t find any issues with the height of the chair.
I sit in the chair usually from around 8:30am-6pm and I do find it comfortable to sit in all day with no back/butt/neck pain, although I do need to get up every 1-2 hours because I feel the cushion is not as soft as I would like.
Overall it really is a good chair, decent for the price and I think it should last at least 1-2 years before showing any signs of wear.
This is basically a rebrand version of SHIOO M18, the box description even say its M18 model. Be careful
A really easy chair to assemble. One person can assemble if you have plenty of space and perhaps a chair or two to support the upturned base while assembling. It is easier with someone supporting the chair. Check when assembling that you attach the arms correctly. There is a letter on each arm corresponding to the placement on the base. It is then obvious which direction to install the central base mechanism. The chair is comfortable and I do enjoy the way it tilts – very relaxing. I just wish the arms were softer. I consider the chair good value.
A friend of mine had bought this chair and told me about it as I have gone through so many chairs over the years. None of which have been comfortable and I always end up with an aching back, neck, or shoulders. I sit at my desk in this chair for 8 hours a day and do not have any aches and pains anymore. My son is also wanting one as it is a lot better than any of the gaming chairs he has used. 10/10 love this produc
Quite pleased with this new office chair. Fully adjustable and very comfortable. Below are some feedbacks I can give while using this chair. Please beware that I have only been using it for a week or so and durability is not something I can comment on.
1. back and base are both on the firm side. Supportive, will curve slightly to fit your posture but none or less very firm. Consider it as a complete opposite of La-z-Boy office chair which my wife loves.
2. head support is not very useful if you are 6f2. It just is not long enough. It can help when the chair is fully tilted backwards but will not do much for you if sit up straight.
All in all, a very good fit if you are looking for an office chair to sit on for hours a day but may not be as suitable if you want to relax and watch a film.
I’ve been working from home since lock down began, interrupted by 5 months in hospital. When I came home I found my original 5 year old office chair deeply uncomfortable and chose this as a replacement.
It’s proved to be a great buy, my brother assembled it in under 15 minutes (it would have taken me considerably longer) – it’s easily adjustable but can be set in position so it stays consistent and enables me to work and play games in comfort. I’m very happy with my purchase.
Easy to assemble and provides good enough support, although I continued to use the cushions I’d bought for me previous chair. Arrived in a box that I later discovered had a water stain on it – unsure if the chair was smelling of damp or chemicals but either way it wore off after a week or so! Holds my weight and gives me more comfort than the gaming chair I’d used previously that cost twice the price of this. Headrest is a little too easy to move up and down, so often it falls down when you push the chair back under the desk with it! It is quite a high chair, I’m not much more than average height and I find even its lowest setting isn’t too low!
Does what it says on the tin! It is a good study/office chair, especially for computer work. Seat padding is quite firm, but not too hard to be uncomfortable. Arms are solid and hard, but they are sculptured to fit the contours of your lower arm, so do the job. The back is adjustable and gives good support in the lumbar region. There are so many chairs to choose from out there that it’s difficult to decide, but I think we are fine with this choice.
The lumbar is definitely ill placed, the headrest is fantastic. Overall comfortable chair for a workstation. Assembly instructions are poorly drafted, use some YouTube video instead. Arrived neatly packaged. Decent chair. Worth exploring other options though.
Great back and neck support. Wish the arm rests were adjustable
Good chair, neck rest nice and easy to adjust.
Also I really like how you can move arm rest up and dow
I spent few weeks looking for a chair with good price and also good reviews. My back is always sore and I need something really good. I loved this chair. Glad I bought it!
I’m 5’11” and for my height, it’s hard to find the perfect office chair on which i can sit comfortably for 8-10 hrs and I can say this chair ticks every checklist. It’s comfortable, has adjustable lumbar support and the mesh keeps it airy on the back. It reclines down to a good angle for watching movies on screen as well. I was hesitant to buy at first because of the brand isn’t that popular but it is worth every penny. Using it for more than a month. Assembling takes 15-20 mins and sometimes you need another support to hold the base while fixing the arms and the backrest. There’s another version with a 4D arm rest instead of normal ones but later realised it won’t make much difference. Delivery was quick. Definitely recommend to people who wants ergonomic office chair for home.
I’ve owned this chair for 8 months now with regular use (8+ hours a day, sometimes more). I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it’s holding up. I was expecting it to fall to pieces within a couple of weeks.
Pros:
1. Comfy seat with good adjustments.
2. Sturdy lumbar support.
3. The seat base is still “OK” after 8 months, but has sagged somewhat (to be expected).
4. Good head rest.
5. I’ve had no back ache, but I don’t tend to suffer from this anyway.
Cons:
1. Lumbar back rest is too firm. I’d like it to be softer. At first it kinda dug into my back a bit, but I’ve gotten used to it over time and don’t notice it any more.
2. Arms don’t go low enough when not in use to fit under my desk. Very frustrating.
3. Arms rattle a little, which can be annoying when I tap my foot or wiggle my leg (which is something I do a lot).
Overall, for the cost (I paid 150), I’m happy with this chair. I wouldn’t be happy with it if I’d spent 300+.
I spent hours here looking for various office chairs. I was about to order another one when my partner commented that the dimensions weren’t ideal for me. I’m 5’7 and most chairs are done for tiny people (lol).
After careful looking at this one and looking at the other reviews, I decided to go for it. It arrived in a couple of days, was super easy to assemble and it’s SO comfortable. I can’t believe I didn’t get one before. The lumbar and head rest are such a game changer for my body, it feels 100% supported. I love that it can tilt but also hold still at the same time when you use it.
I now go to my office to chill / read in my chair – that’s how comfortable it is!
I am over the rated weight and this chair bares me without complaint. It is comfy and sturdy, even the gas shock still works after over 6 months of constant use. The back rest has begun slipping a little but I have not yet investigated tightening options. Overall a great chair for all day use by larger people at a great price (I paid 150)
Use in the the study for work on my computer, able to lean back, relax and think.
I like this chair very much.
Good support and comfort
This chair gives me better support and comfort than my old chair
I would recommend this
Great chair for proper posture, easy to assemble, seems really sturdy and on a 20% discount is a steal.
So pleased with this chair it easily gets a highly recommended from me. Whilst the photos of these types of chair make it difficult to compare them you need to take note of things like “home office” in the descriptions. I got fed up of bases that are made of plastic, arms that are flimsy and creaks from screws that don’t stay in, none of that with this one, metal bits at all the stress points, excellent! They care, they even include a pair of gloves to protect your hands whilst you assemble it. This chair at the reduced price is a total win, pay that bit more and don’t spend years compensating your posture on less robust “home office” chairs you might just avoid back problems later on.
Well made and heavy but comfortable as well. Comes as a DIY project with all the bolts instructions and even a pair of cotton gloves to assemble it with.
Castors don’t lock so make sure you hold the arm rests before sitting down although I understand that lockable castors can be purchased through stores like Amazon, make sure of the size and thread first, but also lockable ones can be a pain if you want to move from one desk for instance to another. All in all used by my wife who has hip problems and found it really comfortable and recently purchased for another crafter who has knee problems and again very pleased with it and in both cases was delivered the next day.
Comes in a huge package, assembly was quite time consuming. The manual while easy to follow, had some clarity missing on certain parts of the assembly, which lead to me figuring stuff out on my own after struggling for a bit. Quite a few nuts and bolts too.
Once assembled though, it’s really comfy and quite relaxing. In fact one could fall asleep on it! However, the lumbar support, even at its minimum is a bit too jutting at first. But eventually you do get used to it.
Great office chair and one of best I have bought, this one is ever better than some I have paid a lot more fo
Significantly better than any “gaming” chair that I have had in the past. Assembly didn’t take too long and was easy to follow. It took a few weeks to break in and get used to it but after that it’s much more comfortable. It also gave much better back support than my previous chair, however it does take some adjustments to get it suited. Another huge bonus is the head rest as it makes it more comfortable leaning back in the chair, especially for movies and watching Youtube.
he gas cylinder went. i purchased a new one but cannot replace because the hole in the seat mechanism is welded shut so you can undo the seat brackets and hammer it out. now left with a chair that is broken and cannot fix. DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR
The chair is very comfortable. It took 40 minutes only to assemble, explicit instruction and the tool provided is enough for fitting all of the screws very easily.
easy to set up, very supportive and adaptable office chair. looking at all other options out there it is a great price for the quality of chai
The seat and back of the chair fell very comfortable, and the build quality feels great! the only downside for me is that I am 6 foot and sitting up straight the head rest doest come nearly high enough for me.
I like this chair, but I don’t love it.
I cannot get the back upright enough, so it does not provide enough support. This is no issue with a cushion, but for the money, I had hoped not to need any extras.
Easy to put together, easy to adjust, and generally comfy.
Perhaps not for those with back issues.
I bought this chair at the end of June 2020, and it came very quickly. Very comfortable chair however now 6/7 months down the line, the height adjustment mechanism isn’t working properly, so when it’s raised to the correct height, and someone sits on it, it gradually slides back down, so am having to raise it again several times an hour. A little frustrating, but I have contacted the seller, and I hope they’re able to help out.
Arrived early which was a bonus. Very easy to assemble and extremely comfortable as an office chair. There is so much choice that I felt overwhelmed but I made the right choice ordering this chair. I have some back issues and this allows me to work pain free due to the adjustable back support. Will definitely recommend to all my colleagues.
Nice comfortable chair. Easy to assemble come with tools. After a lot of search I went for this chair thinking that I may have to return if its not what I am looking for. Trust me I was not disappointed when I received this chair. It is just like my office chair in every way. If you are looking for back support, adjustable high back chair, this is the one to go for. It’s reasonable price for comfortable chair without spending a fortune.
I put it together on my own. Very straightforward instructions.
I have now had it for over a month. It is very comfortable, easy to adjust. Good quality.
Good office chair.
Once all the parts were identified and checked it took me about fifteen minutes to put together. Instructions were very easy to follow, detailing which bits went where and what size screws and washers to use. All screws were allen hex style heads, but a decent Allen key with a comfortable shaped grip handle was provided so they could be tightened up nice and tight easily. There was also one extra screw and washer for each part…just in case.
Once assembled the chair seems very strong and again good quality and hard wearing. My other half who will be using it for working from home was chuffed to bits. The mesh back will prevent those sweaty backs in the summer, the seat whilst firm, was not excessively hard and shaped nicely. The full range of adjustments from the headrest to the back tilt, the arms up/down and including the lumber support, enabled her to get it exactly as she wanted it. The five pronged chromed base with castors makes it very stable yet easy to manouver. Oh, and it looks good too.
Sure it’s not the cheapest out there, but given the quality I think it was well worth the extra.
Very nice chair very comfy has I have a bad back is perfect chair but don’t know what the dial thing is for under the sea
Very sturdy and high quality chair for the price I paid (130 around Black Friday). It looks exactly like the more expensive Sihoo one that is at the top of the Amazon search pages, so I’m glad I saved some money as I was about to order that one.
Lumbar support is good, though the cushion can feel slightly hard if using it at the more extended levels.
The chair is good to be sitting in for long periods of time. The seat doesn’t feel completely compressed after sitting in it a while.
The only niggles I have with it is that the seat depth can’t be adjusted. This is fine for me, but makes it slightly less suitable for other shorter people in my house as the back of your knees may end up pressed into the seat edge. And, the back of the chair at its most upright is a little too far back for how I like to sit while I work at a desk.
All in all, a solid purchase for the price. Would be a good purchase for most people, except those that are quite particular with seat and back positioning.
Bought the chair for working from home to replace old one. Wish I bought it earlier. Easy to assemble by following the instruction 6 steps. The seat is comfortable, you can adjust the back support and height of head. It looks and feels sturdy . After long day of sitting in the chair for office work from home, my body and back still feel relaxed compare with the old one, highly recommend to whoever work from home or in the office, worth the investment.
Ordered this for my partner who is working more from home over the pandemic. He found it easy to assemble and he’s not usually one to self-assemble and carry out DIY projects. It’s comfortable and has good back and neck support. Love that the arms can be adjusted to the height of the user. The mesh back really help to keep the person cool as well, unlike the padded pleather chairs that though soft and cushioned can heat up over time of sitting and also stick to the back of your legs when wearing shorts! When researching ergonomic office chairs, on top of the above criteria of ease of assembly and sufficient support and comfort, I made sure to look for one with a metal frame/legs as I’ve seen plastic ones break after a year or so, also always look out for how much weight the chair can bear as it helps as a strength and durability gauge. This is by far one of the highest weight bearing chairs I have found. So far this chair has lived up to all my expectations!
Excellent chair to work from home.
I really love the back and neck support. That makes a lot of difference for me. Helps me to have a better posture and slosh less.
I’m so glad that I found this chair on Amazon as a birthday gift for my husband. It’s been so hard to find a normal office chair which support a 140KG man. Only some gaming chair does it and it cost way to much. And office chair mostly only support 120KG. And pirce would be very similar to this one.
When we open it, we were surprised by the weight of each parts. They were heavy. Each small parts are all in a packet. So it’s easy to see from the instructions and take each one out. Quite easy to assemble it. Out daughter was help him.
The seat part is very good for a heavy man. Because compare to leather type. He would not be that sweaty with net pattern. Main part support the weight is stianless steel. A very heavy stick. When he sit on it. They is no queeki sound as all. And now he wouldn’t need worry break his chair when he lean back.
100% happy with it. I would come back for second one when I need a new chair.
Have now purchased 2 of these chairs after my wife liked my one so much. Sturdy and comfortable and well made. Had a small issue with the second chair but the customer service sorted it with 24hrs and sent me out a replacement part.
My old gaming chair destroyed my back so decided to go for an ergonomic office chair.
Just spent 6 hours in this bad boy with no back pain what so ever, feeling so good writing this review.
I’m 6ft 2 220lbs and this chair supports me well and feels sturdy.
Strongly recommend.
This chair is very high quality and comfortable. It has a wide range of adjustment, you can change the armrest height, lumbar support, base height, headrest etc. My video shows a few of the adjustments.
Unlike a lot of chairs I have had in the past the design is well thought out and doesn’t just hang all the weight off a few small screws. Its a more expensive chair than some, but 100% worth it.
First impressions are excellent.
Clear assembly instructions
Very adjustable
Very comfortable
Seems pretty sturdy
Time will tell if the product lasts but first impressions are really great and I would hesitate to recommend.
As a bonus you get a pair of white cotton gloves to prevent cardboard / sharp metal cuts. Why not learn to moon walk and incorporate the gloves into a Michael Jackson dance tribute act. In no time at all your fees will pay for this chair many times over because it’s such good value
Very comfortable and find it supports my back very well. Easy to assemble.
It is very comfortable and it offers me all the support I need for a good experience. Working long hours from home in my gaming chair brought me to the physical therapist, who recommended that I change the chair. DO NOT WORK FROM HOME IN GAMING CHAIRS!!! May seem like a good idea at first, but you just can’t keep a good posture for 10h/day in that chair… This one offers proper support to my lower back and to my neck and reduced the back pain after a week or so. A good investment for my health.
Was a perfectly good chair but the back recline has broken with in a month of ourchase, not a sturdy reliable chair what so ever, Save your money and go with something else more reliable.
Edit: Re-addreasing this. Contacted seller and was advised to tighten a nut in the back of the chair and the problem was resolved. Had the chair from previous review to now with no issues.
Updating rev
The chair arrived about 9 days earlier than expected – well done! It was in pieces ready for self assembly – everything that was meant to be in the package was present (including extra screws, a pair of white gloves and a book mark with information from the company) and I didn’t need to use my tools as the Alan key was also supplied.
Assembly was pretty easy and I did it on my own – it was a bit fiddly when attaching the back to the base, that was because of the weight and awkward shape, but I rested base on my legs and was able to do it.
Now it has been assembled, I can say that I am happy with the comfort and support. Everything that I wanted to, easily adjusts, so I have been able to personalise it to suit my size and shape. I am 5′ 6″ and it is comfortable for me to sit on raised to the highest level. The seat is quite firm, not unbearably, and hopefully this will loosen up through use. The wheels work easily on my rug and the wooden floor of my room. I particularly like the lumbar adjustment (which swung my decision to buy the chair) as it moves up and down as well as in and out.
I would recommend this chair to anyone who is in need of a supportive and comfortable chair that they intend using for extended periods of time.
I was hesitant at first on whether or not I should purchase this chair. There was a similar chair from MFavour that differs slightly where it was able to adjust the rotation of the arm rests. However, I chose this chair mainly because the seat was slightly w shape whereas the other was flat. I think the seat itself is more important that the arm rests. An amalgamation of both chairs would have created the perfect product (and for this I have given it a 4 star rating instead of 5)
For starters this chair isn’t that cheap, so making sure you have the right chair is paramount. At 150 I would expect this to not only be comfortable but have sufficient durability. Upon initial inspection all the components had a fairly premium feel where the chassis is made from a solid metal. The plastic parts did not wobble too much which you’d typically find in cheaper products. Finally the gas lift mechanism feel sturdy
Comfort wise the lack of rotation on the arm rests makes typing on the keyboard less enjoyable. This is compounded with the fact that the arm rests themselves are not flat but have a channel for your arms. This “locks” in your arms to be perpendicular to the table whereas typically your arms on a keyboard will be pointed inwards
Since I have only had this for a few hours now, I can’t really comment too much on durability; only time can tell. However as mentioned above the construction is fairly solid so I don’t think I should have much worry. Furthermore there’s the 3 year manufacturers guarantee (as mentioned in the amazon Answers section) which I hope will provide solace to those who are hesitant due to longevity
I’ve been using this chair for a couple of weeks now, and I’m very happy with it. The delivery was extremely quick, it took only three days to ship to Ireland from the UK, more than a week ahead of Amazon’s stated delivery date.
It arrived well packaged, with every individual part wrapped in plastic. The assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow, though it’s helpful to have a second set of hands when adding the back. The included allen key is sturdy, and there are extras for every bolt.
I’m a heavy guy with a large midsection, and it supports me well. It’s not quite perfect though: The armrests have a little play in them, the lower back support could be positioned a little higher, and the headrest could come forward a little instead of just rotating. It also squeaked quite a bit for the first week or so, but this gradually stopped. I recommend tightening the bolts again after a few days, once you’ve broken the chair in a bit.
I’ve used Wirecutter’s recommended office chair, the Steelcase, in a previous job, and while I would give it a slight edge in build quality and comfort, it’s also several times the price of this chair. This has been a significant improvement to my home office, and I consider it well worth the price.
Very pleased with this purchase. Very good quality, came very well packed and with clear instructions. All the screws and washers were vacuum packed and there was an extra of each. They even packed a small pair of disposable gloves so you don’t get your hands dirty! Very good product.
more metal and less plastic than the chairs we are replacing, so they should last a good while. The assembly instructions were comprehensive enough. The adjustment features seem good too.
We are a bit intrigued though as to why a pair of white cotton gloves was included in each box!
This chair is great. The seat is much more comfortable than you would first think, nice and thick padding. The big plus is that it’s not fake leather which gets hot. I took the arms off for more space but normally you would leave them on for support but it doesn’t change now sturdy the chair is anyway. Solid and quite easy to build. Nice chair.
A very comfortable office chair with all of the features for working from home in comfort. Prior to buying this chair I was using a dining chair and was certainly not feeling the best posture or joints wise.
Although suitable for my needs, chairs in my office start higher and can be lowered lower with the gas lift. I would prefer the option of slightly higher seating.
The UK locked down in April 2020. I thought my old, 12 year old leather chair would be fine for working from home… but actually, I’d only ever really sat in that chair for a few hours at a time for gaming; not 7 hours a day, every day (plus weekends).
I realised soon enough that I was getting muscle soreness from my old chair, and I didn’t want to go visit a store either since this wasn’t a “necessary” risk like grocery shopping. So, like you, I looked to Amazon to help me out.
I looked at a few chairs and they all seemed to be 3.5/4 star reviews, but the Mfavour Office Chair ticked a few boxes:
– Solid 5 star reviews that looked genuine
– The handles were plastic, not fabric, so if they scratched against the underside of my desk I wouldn’t get pieces of leather on the floor
– The chair was marketed as ergonomic (I’m fairly young, late 20s, but this was a “nice to have”
– It looked like the chairs I’ve seen at places I’ve worked before (large financial firms that put a lot of research and money into making their employees comfortable and therefore more productive)
I’ve had this chair about two weeks now and I can safely say it was a solid purchase. It wasn’t cheap at around 200, but I’ve got great back support and it was really, really easy to set up.
Strongly recommend anyone who’s working from home more than 2 days a week to make sure your seating is comfortable.
I also got a foot rest from amazon that’s worked a treat alongside this! 5/5, thoroughly recommend.
Great chair but the arm rests feel cheap/flimsy.
The rest I can’t fault at all.
This is a very solid, well constructed chair and good value for the 150 I paid for it. Two week estimated delivery time was overly conservative as it arrived in two days! Easy and quite satisfying to assemble – all tools (well, the one tool required) are included in the box. Almost everything is easily adjustable (except the base, which is very comfortable, by the way). Perfect for a home office set up – I’m now not sure why I put up with my old faux leather one for so long!
found it difficult to find a chair at the right hight for me being over 6′ tall.
The max hight 53cm.
I work from home and do long hours find that the chair is very comfortable.
Exceptional easy to assemble. Lots of little details to make the job putting the chair together idiot proof! Like the L or R labels and white gloves. The screws are not lose but on cardboard with the ID numbers, so you know what to use – saves sorting. Comes with tools. Easy for one person to assemble. Looks smart and is comfortable. Marked down by one star, as I like the position to be further forward but I ll get use to it. I would recommend.
I bought this chair reading the specifications about adjustable seat height, posture, head rest and hand rest.. and it delivered everything I was looking for.. a very comfortable office chair which I can use for long working hours.. equally good for my family members with varying heights and arm lights..Very happy with the purchase
For something like a chair there’s nothing quite like sitting on it to try it out but I didn’t see anything suitable in the rather limited range available in any nearby shops, so that means going online where you can’t with any real practicality try before you buy, so it’s a bit of a gamble. That said, what I’m looking for in an office chair first and foremost would be comfort, followed by durability and looks and ideally without paying over the odds. To cut a long story short, not wanting to spend more than 200 and browsing within that price range I was drawn to this chair since it seemed to tick all my boxes. Having a well-rounded range of supports and adjustments, in particular the adjustable lumber support, I figured I stood a good chance of getting this thing to work for me.
I’ve had this chair for six months now and can confirm that from the get go was able to easily adjust this to my requirements and liking. Without wanting to sound too over the top, if I’ve been on my feet for a while or feeling any aches and pains(that happens when you’re no longer a spring chicken) sitting down on this actually helps, no exaggeration to say it verges on the therapeutic.
Looks and quality wise, good as new with no squeaks or creaks, it’s solid and chunky. This could last for years and years, but realistically it will be the padding that determines when it’s time to go.
I looked at chairs upwards of five times the cost of this, and they do look good but I suspect very much the law of diminishing returns applies, they won’t last five times longer and certainly can’t be five times more comfortable.
In terms of assembly, I don’t recall any issues.
Any downsides? If I was being really picky, the open frame back is a bit of a dust collector, but I’m pretty scrupulous about keeping the chair clean, so I suppose if anything, that serves as a reminder that it’s time to vacuum.
Bottom line, this chair is both durable and ergonomically sound, you’d be hard-pressed to get anything more comfortable in this price range.
This chair is very comfortable. Due to working from home I’m using it for 7 hours a day 5 days a week. The support on the chair is on the outside of the back which slides up and down to wear you feel it best supports your back
Good office chair which definitely alleviates back pain from poor posture. I have had better chairs but at x3 times the price of this chair so great value.
Had a failed Gas Pump after 6 months use. Glad to say Maggie in Support worked to resolve this issue promptly with a replacement. Thx!
Excellent chair. Lots of features such as height adjustment, lumbar support, can lower or raise arms to fit under desk. A definite improvement for me from my previous chair especially as I generally spend 8 hours a day sitting in it working from home. Good chair is a necessity working from home and this definitely merits all criteria.
Good value for money. Very easy to assemble, all the instructions are pretty simple to follow. You need to make sure you have the arms on the correct side as they can be mounted to either. It took about 20 minutes to build by myself. I like the fabric pattern and its comfortable(not memory form though). It has a wide base and the casters are working smoothly. The handles can be moved up & down so that it can be adjusted based on the requirements. The lumbar support is in a nice position and movable around 5cm vertically/horizontally. The headrest’s height and angle are adjustable too.
Please note that the delivery was much faster. Initially it was showing around 4-5 days to dispatch, but I got delivered in three days. Overall a good buy.
I’m very pleased I trusted the other reviews – absolutely spot on. Fantastic quality chair, solid and well made, easy to assemble and extremely comfortable. It also arrived sooner than the original delivery date given which was a bonus. well worth the money. Thank you!
Really pleased with this chair; I have already recommended to a few of my friends. With working at home most of the time I really needed a comforatble chair with lumbar support after expereincing more and more back pain and discomfort. The chair arrived way before the projected delivery date. Clear instructions, nicely packaged and I was even impressed by the cloth white gloves included. PLEASE WEAR THESE! I just wore them to be posh but thenrealised why they were needed as the screws come already oiled. Every deltail thought off! The chair is quality, looks way more expensive than it was. Nice roomy seat for my ‘ample’ posterior. Actually promotes good psture. I am very happy and have had no back pain. My body had to adjust but adjusted quickly to the improved posture. Basically, buy this chair. And no, nobody is paying me to say that lol. Enjoy!
A very comfortable yet reasonably priced chair for our home office. It took me less than 20 mins to assemble it. Assembly Instructions were clear cut.
I ordered the chair on 19th June with estimated delivery between 14-17 July. To my absolute surprise the chair was delivered on 22nd June. Just wow!
I bought a chair from ebuyer around a year ago for about 120 and it was instantly poor, I put up with it for a while before selling it for 30 on gumtree. This caught my eye due to the vast amount of alteration it can do with lumbar and neck support. It arrived after a few days despite the listing stating that it would take a month, comes from the UK, not abroad.
Assmebly was super easy with the included allen key, it couldn’t have been simpler. I had it up within 15 minutes. It’s quite heavy, so be prepared to have someone there to help hold things in place. The entire unit feels very sturdy, make sure you screw everything together as tight as you can, but everything fits nicely and there are no creaks or wobbly bits to complain about.
As I mentioned above there’s a great deal of alterations you can make depending on your height. The lumbar support goes up and down about 8 inches and can come forward or backward depending on what you prefer. The head rest is very comfy, sometimes wonder if I could sleep in the chair.
I’m happy with my purchase. 🙂
Excellent chair at an affordable price. The seller has thought of everything; clear instruction booklet which even included a ruler so that you could double check you are using the correct screws, All the tools and screws were attached to a card (no loose bags) and clearly labelled and referenced to the instructions. A spare screw was supplied for each one and a pair of white cotton gloves were supplied to keep my hands clean during the build. The seller has thought of everything.
It was very easy to follow the instructions and build the chair. I just need assistance when attaching the seat to the gas lift due to the weight.
It feels hard at first but I guess your spine prefers a firm support. There is an excellent range of adjustment for the lumbar area. I am only 5ft so needed this. The neck support is still slightly too high for my height but will suit most people.
I would definitely recommend.
Just took delivery of this chair, and assembled in about 30 mins flat from unboxing. I needed a really comfortable and supportive chair, as like a lot of other people, I’m now working from home. This chair certainly fits the bill, and I feel is well worth the money. I was looking specifically for a chair with lower back (lumbar) support. The one provided on this chair is really adjustable, allowing you to get it in exactly the right place on your back. It has enough controls to allow good sitting posture while typing, and I the headrest is a useful and worthwhile addition, which also has more than enough adjustment.
So I’m very pleased with this chair, definitely no more slouching, and my back is certainly going to be in good shape, literally!
Also have to say that the delivery time far exceeded my expectations – initial estimated delivery time of 1 month, but actually turned up within 2 working days of ordering. Nice!
good value for money on this item. im glad i went for the metal legged version, it certainly feels sturdy and well made. even though the finish on the metal connecting components seems a little rough i cant expect too much as the features on this chair seemed to rival much more expensive chairs. hydraulic raising mechanism works great and seems sturdy also. assembly kit came with a few spare bolts and some gloves which i thought were a nice touch! 🙂
One of the best buys I’ve had in a long time. With the lockdown going on for more that 2 months now, I was considering buying a nice chair, as working from home became the new normal. Finally made the decision and bought this one and oh my God, how nice it is to sit on something comfortable after a long time of sitting on dining chairs.
Very easy to assemble if using the instructions. All the necessary parts and tools are included, even some spare ones. It took me about 20 mins to get it done. Super comfortable and stylish. Personally I did not put the wheels as on my floor it would’ve moved around. Now it is very stable on the ground, the seat is very comfortable even if sitting for long hours. The mesh on the back is comfy as well and I personally love the lumberjack support for the lower back – it keeps me straight. Very easy to adjust as well. I like the addition of the neck support, the first chair I have like this. Finally, I love being able to adjust the height of the armrests.
Overall great home office chair, a bit pricey but definitely worth it, if you’re like me, working from home 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. It changed my days! Recommend!
This is heavy item!.
Everything seems quite well packaged, they also give you one extra of every screw.
item weighs aprox (18Kg (around 40 pounds).
Also, when assembled, it’s quite a large chair, certainly by comparison with my (armless) typist chair (one of Argos’s finest),
It has a large seat and a full/high back rest, there is full controll over the angle of backrest & a highly adjustable lumbar support. Also, adjustable armests and an adjustable headrest.
Points to note, the instructions overall are quite good.
There are a number of flat washers supplied – which the assembly instructions don’t mention.
Trial and error shows that 4 of these need to go under the seat support/actuator mechanism, other wise, tightening the screws forces them to ‘grab’ the bracket and forces the seat off centre.
Likewise, if you fit the 3 screws which attach the back rest support to the bottom bracket without the flat washers the screws will ‘grab’ and the back rest is difficult to centre.
Personally, I think shakeproof washers might have been a better choice, but thats my opinion.
I was a little concerned that the backrest support & backrest is largely plastic, but it seems quite solid.
Curiously, the arm rests by comparison are metal and very heavy!.
The underside of the seat is plastic (at least, what you can see of it), so it’s difficult to know if the 4 retaining screws which attach the mechanism and the castor base to the chair seat are actually anchored into a substantial metal frame or not.. This is quite improtant since all the users weight and the stress of sitting, etc rests on this.
I guess time will tell how resilient this is..
Once assembled though, the seat is very comfortable.
I bought mine to work from home during the current national and global crisis.
I picked this since it had some very positive reviews and it was in a reasonable price range (circa 140GBP).
Initial delivery was quoted at three weeks, which wasn’t ideal for me, my current typist chair is very uncomfortable after several minutes, let alone several hours!.
However, I received the chair 3 days later after a couple of confirmation emails, overall quite happy with my purchase.
I hope it will last, but only time will tell!.
if anybody is interested, like almost everything else in the world today, its made in China.
I have been looking for a replacement chair for my home office for some time. I couldn’t decide between a mesh chair or a leather chair as I’d had before. But I decided on this one after reading the good reviews and also because of the discounted price. Firstly, the packaging of the chair was excellent, not over done, but secure and safe. I was very impressed that it came with the an excellent Allen key tool that had a handle instead of the small L shaped ones you usually get, plus all the screws and washers were sealed on cardboard so were easy to find and use. The chair itself was very easy to put together and all the components are of very good quality. It was very easy to assemble on my own without needing someone else to hold things in place for me. All of the holes were in the right places and the pieces went together first time with ease. Once together, there are a lot of adjustments you can make to find the most comfortable position. I am short (5 feet) So I often struggle with lumbar and head support being in the wrong place for me as most chairs are made of taller people. But with this chair I could adjust it to fit me. The back of the chair can also lock at whatever angle you prefer, which again is a great feature. At first when you sit on the seat it seems quite firm and not as sumptuous as a leather chair. But after sitting on it for several hours, I can honestly say I have not had to shift position or felt uncomfortable at all, as the seat is very supportive. Overall I think this is an excellent chair and very comfortable.
This office chair came very well packaged with clear instructions making assembly simple. Allan key provided too with an actual handle for extra grob making it so easy to tighten the screws.
Once assembled took a few minutes to go through all the adjustments. After one day use this is clearly a high end office chair, feels comfortable and solid with no creaks like previous chairs I’ve used in the past.
The seller is also with mentioning as I requested an invoice at the time of ordering and this came through e-mail about 12 hours after delivery…great service!
Only issue I have is that the lumbar support is a little low.
Opened the box to find the chair was in a lot more separate pieces than I perhaps expected. But I’ve just put it together and it really was surprisingly quick and simple. Made a lot easier by the bolts all being clearly marked for each section and a the best “allen key” type tool I’ve ever received – has a lovely big t-handle so easy to grip etc.
So far so comfy.
Having spent far too long trying to work out which chair on Amazon would be the most suitable for me and looking at endless reviews I opted for this one, and I’m so glad I did!
The chair was extremely well packaged within the box it arrived in. From an “environmental” perspective, there was bubble wrap around some of the components (the metal legs and the arms) and the rest had a single plastic bag around each part. It felt “appropriate” and I believe I can recycle all of that locally. There was only the main cardboard outer and a small separator within, again, this can all be recycled.
On the outside of the box was a small plastic shape, it took me a moment to realise what it was, and then I was like, “Oh, that’s really clever”. Its to cut the tape on the box so you don’t jam a knife or pair of scissors into the chair on the inside! Genius! This will be treasured and used for future purchases!
Unlike other self-assembly items I’ve bought in the past I was really impressed with how this arrived. All of the bolts and washers were in a cardboard backed, plastic packet, the bolts and washers were separated by size. An additional bolt of each type was included, as were some spare washers. There was also a tool to use to tighten the bolts. Additionally, and something I’ve never come across before, included in the box was a small pair of white gloves so you could protect your hands from paper/cardboard cuts, keep your hands clean. The gloves were too small for myself, but I was impressed they were included.
Assembly of this chair was really straight forward. Despite being manufactured in a non-native English country, the instructions were in perfect English, other languages were included also. Pictorial instructions with a numbered listed with then a detailed sentence were perfect for the assembly of this chair.
The arms are held on to the base of the chair with 3 bolts each. The metal mechanism under the chair is attached with 4 bolts and the head rest has three. The wheels are push fit, a sprung circlip holds them in place. Assembly was really easy and straight forward. I would recommend making yourself some space to lay out all of the parts and assemble on the floor. Several of the components are of a reasonable weight, so having them supported, or having someone assist you may be useful.
The box the chair arrived in weighed around 15KG, but it is unbalanced, so ask for help or slide across a floor if suitable.
The chair itself is very comfortable. I’m 6’2″ and a little larger than I should be, there is no part of this chair which is squashing/squeezing me when I sit in it. On a related note, the arms can be adjusted “horizontal” when attaching them, so you can have them in/out on each side (not front to back), handy if you have, well, a larger arse/thighs.
The arm rests adjust up and down, the chair adjusts up and down and also reclines, with a separate arm under the chair to lock the chair in to which ever reclined position you have placed it in. The headrest also rotates back and forth so you can get comfy.
All in all a very comfortable chair that appears to be very well made, extremely well packaged and gives the impression some thought and consideration went in to it from the outset.
When looking for a chair on Amazon I found it difficult to gauge the reviews, I was looking for chairs which had hundreds/thousands of reviews, this one only had 47 at the time, I’m very happy to be able to +1 that and would very much recommend this chair to anyone else.
I didn’t add any photos of the chair itself as the product details here on Amazon are spot on.
My husband needed a better office chair then his old one and we decided to get this one, he is very satisfied. Chair was easy to assembly, hisband said it is bery comfortable and he stopped has a problems with his back, also this chair looks really nice
comfy, easily put together. good back support. plenty of adjustment choices. decent chair, very happy.
Wow, what a great chair. Arrived on time in a big heavy box. Did the audit – All present and correct. Instructions easy to follow – many items marked left or right, so was the location for their use.
Tool kit was great with extra screws (just in case). Easy to erect, even easier to get comfortable after.
Would recommend this to everyone, especially those that work in offices for hours on end.
CRACKING PRODUCT
Squeaks after 2 weeks of use, so I unscrewed everything to lube and still squeaks, am not thic am skinny. The lumbar is hard and hurts my back after a few hours. Chair is noisy. I give 2 stars because you can sit in it for 3 hours without pain, and Doctors recommended to sit 3 hours at a time anyways.
Edited (now 4 stars) – Sprayed some WD40 and the squeaks gone. Body adapted to the chair and improved my posture. I can now sit 16 hours without pain, I guess my body just needed to get used to this chair. Saving up for a Herman Miller but this chair is decent, it just needed a few weeks to break in. They should have sprayed WD40 before shipping this to me, would have gotten 5 stars instead. Lumbar is still hard but am used to it now.
easy to assemble all the parts included and the screws and Allen key packaged separately, took me about 15-20 minutes
purchased as desperately needed a new office chair with good back and neck support and also tilt tension, has made working on the pc a lot more comfortable and will be glad to inform my osteopath at my next appointment !
good price also considering some of the prices for similar chairs
I’ve searched everywhere on Amazon for a good office/gaming chair within my budget (150 and less). I first tried SONGMICS office chair with High Back, and had to return it – it was too uncomfortable. Then I tried this one, and I am so far happily surprised!
First impression:
When you unpack it, it looks like the sort of chair you’d find in a workshop. Some scratches on the plastic frame, but nothing severe. The seat feels hard upon touch, but don’t let that fool you.
Installation:
The installation is generally easy, but lacked any mention of the shims that come separately with the screws. I followed the steps exactly as written, and after putting most of the screws in, I realised they should’ve been installed with the shims… May sound like a logical thing, but it wasn’t for me.
The chair:
The backrest is very comfortable, especially the lumbar support. No need for an extra pillow in my chair anymore, lol. The seat is comfortable, and I find that I sit well in the chair, with good posture.
The plastic frame itself is hard, but comes across a bit cheap. A few things are a bit wobbly, such as the arm rests and head support, but not distracting at all.
It should be noted the wheels are not letting me roll away from the table (this was an issue with the SONGMICS chair).
Also, there’s little sound when you roll around, and no sound when you sit in it (no creeking, etc).
The chair functions, such as the backrest position, armrests, etc., are all working so far.
Verdict:
Overall, it’s a great chair, and based on other chairs within the price range, it’s totally worth the money. If you’re budget is 100, I’d still recommend you to add another 40 for this one. None under 100 seemed to offer what this one did.
The price seems to fluctuate a bit on this chair. It was increased by a few pounds the day I bought it, and when I received it two days later, there was a 5% discount voucher… Amazon support couldn’t do anything about it, sadly.
Very good chair for the price. Took around 30-40 mins to assemble after reading all the instructions. No problems with it so far. Everything adjusts well and it is very strong.
This chair is pretty good. Assembly instructions are clear and it doesn’t take long to build it. It feels more sturdy than my last chair in the sense that it doesn’t have those small tilts when you lay back, it stays firm. The arms and headrest can be easily adjusted for maximum comfort. I only wished that the seat was slightly longer but this is a very, very minor thing. I just have long legs I guess.
Overall I am fairly happy with this chair’s quality and price. I find that this chairs back is inclined to around 80 degree to the horizontal plane, as can be seen in product description images. This is without anybody sitting in it. The chair does have a bit of flex when someone’s weight is applied to it. In my case there was about 3-5 degrees of movement. I find the most comfortable position to be at the most upright position, so realistically I am sitting in a reclined position around 15 degrees from a vertical sitting position. Which is ideal for myself as I spend long hours in front of screen and the inclined position takes pressure off my back and stops me from slouching forward. I just needed to adjust my keyboard and raise the height of my monitor to get comfortable. However some may prefer to sit in slightly more up-right position yet still be supported by the back of chair, which is possible with other models on the market.
They only thing I can really fault with the design, and it’s a minor fault, is with the headrest. I am not a tall person but I have a long body, which means that I had to position the headrest fairly high. Because of the design, the higher the position of the headrest the more it moves around. Most of the movement if from side to side. Even though the headrest functions perfectly well this movement can be annoying at times.
I needed a proper chair now that I am working at home more due to ‘smart working’ as the stool was giving me backache. After a lot of searching I picked this chair because the arm rests were adjustable (not an option on a lot of chairs) and its other features were on a par with higher priced chairs. It came well packed and was easy to unpack although some parts are heavy. Included within the parts and tool kit were a pair of gloves which was a nice touch. Assembly of the chair took about 30 mins and there was a bit of lifting involved to get all the parts together. The instruction leaflet was okay although I have seen better. It is certainly heavy once assembled. So if you are less able, for whatever reason, it may be best to get someone to help. I was able to make all the adjustments to support my body and ensure I sat at my desk with my arms at the right height. The adjustable arm rests means that the chair can go under my desk when not in use. So overall I am very pleased with the function and quality of this chair.
I bought this to replace my old heavy leather chair and so glad I did. This chair is strong, easily adjustable to ensure good ergonomic posture whilst working.
Quick and easy to assemble and can be done on your own, with the screws and tools nicely packed together and labelled. The only thing I would suggest is that the instructions give the screw numbers just to make it that little bit easier.
Highly recommend this product.
