Great Suction for a cordless
Good hoover, but heavy at times but depends on carpet thickness, but it’s not the item that is heavy but the suction is so good it’s difficult to push.
However, depends on your reasoning for this item, but it’s a good hoover and need to empty the canister often, but that’s down to good suction and what it picks up. Best empty often than not, as the longer you leave it as with larger canisters the more the smell. Each to their own preference really, the item is good and does what it says….
Not worth paying the high price
More or less the price should be arround 300 , suction is good , a second battery would be advisible although with one battery which is still new I can clean a large 5 bedroom property . Its okay but not standing up to miele reputation.
Excellent performance
Very pleased with the suction power and quietness of this cleaner compared to the Bosch model it replaced, and am also happy to pay extra for the continued European manufacturing used by Miele. The easily swappable batteries are also a hugely useful feature, meaning it isn’t necessary to throw out the entire cleaner when the battery capacity inevitably reduces after a few years.
The flexibility to reconfigure the cleaner in handheld or stick modes is also useful, although we tend to mostly use it with the motor unit at the bottom due it being able to self-stand in this mode.
The only negatives so far relate to the dust canister, which due to the suction power of the cleaner requires emptying after every significant use and could do with being a bit larger. The canister has a relatively complex opening mechanism which can be fiddly to start with, but is fine once you get used to the three ’11, 10 and 9 o’clock’ positions for rotating the locking mechanism.
All in all, very pleased with this so far after a month or so of use.
Miele HX1 Triflex Pro
LIKES; lightweight, easy to use, adaptable, long life batteries, light on brush head, powerful suction, no over suction on lowest setting, so great for curtains and delicates.
DISLIKES; dust collection container is ridiculously small for such an efficient vacuum cleaner. It’s more like a children’s toy.
COMMENT ON OTHER REVIEWS; others have said it is difficult getting fluff complete looks out of the dust container because it collects around the filter and space is tight, some have resorted to pulling it out with their fingers or a using a stick, however there is an easy trick; remove the filter body from the top of the dust container by an anti-clockwise twist and click of the lid, the filter cradle comes out of the top attached to the lid and the trapped dust/fluff drops out of the bottom trap door without any fuss. Simple and no need to touch the dust at all.
FINALLY A NOTE TO MIELE; include an option to add a flexible hose to make getting into tight spots and cleaning the car easier, just like the Vax Blade 4 Pet & Car cordless. Then you would just about clean up on the competition (excuse pun).
FOLLOW UP; it appears my old Dyson wasn’t picking up dust very well as the dust collection container was filling up quickly. However having used it for a few weeks the amount of dust and fluff has dropped off, not because of lack of suction, but because it has sucked out the bulk of the residual dust from the carpets.

Great product!! I think the quality is one of the best on the market! Fast and safe delivery
My apartment is 120 m2, and 1 time charge is more than enough to clean the parquet floor at the highest speed, providing I have no any carpets at home. Highly recommended!! The only issue is that it is a little heavier than was expected.
Amazing! Eat your heart out Dyson!
I’ve used and struggled with many Dyson models over the years, including the V range, but until I came across this wonderful Miele I hadn’t realised what a ‘handheld’ is truly capable of. It is well designed, incredibly powerful suction. (I think some reviewers are writing about a different product!). With this unit, I can actually vacuum thick carpets and not just hard floors. Battery life is very good and allows me to vacuum throughout my three bed house, with more to spare! It copes well with dog and cat fur too!
I love the ability to fit the unit on either the top or bottom of the handle, which has eased my back pain! The unit was very easy to put together – no screws! The ability to easily change batteries easily is also welcome.
The negatives? Sadly, it does need emptying.
Highly recommended.

Great vacuum
This is great, suction is great for a stick vacuum, especially with the powered head it sucks up everything. It’s a little fiddly to empty but it’s ok once you have the knack. It’s heavy though, probably too heavy for someone elderly. Also it’s expensive, the model I have is listed in mid 500 quid range, I purchased a “used acceptable” which supposedly had major scuff and scratches but it had one mark on the handle which I think was crayon as with a bit of a wipe it’s gone and I saved about 250 quid.

Lightweight cordless.
Having done extensive research & tried out several models, this one was the best for adaptability and weight.
Excellent quality and functionality
I read quite a few wildly contrasting reviews of the Miele while trying to decide if it was worth the extra cost. We bought this one from Amazon Warehouse so the cost was much less, but either way it is an excellent machine. Great suction, good battery life, very manoeuvrable and easy to empty. We got the version with two batteries – a good idea if you have a larger area, but one is enough for a good whizz round. Bear in mind that these stick vacuum cleaners can never replace a good main powered machine for a thorough whole house deep clean, and are not intended to. But they are excellent for a quick clean of a room or two, stairs, hall landing etc. without having to wheel out the big machine. I am impressed with the suction and battery life. It is easy to reconfigure – but once you find your favourite configuration you are unlikely to change it often. The clips can be stiff, but that’s because the engineering tolerances are tight to ensure good suction. No point having loose connections! The dust bag is plenty big enough. If you are filling it on less than one battery run then you have the wrong tool for your amount of “dust” and your carpet must be a right mess!
Brought to replace Dyson handheld
I managed to get this as a Warehouse deal so it was half price, absolute bargain! It is always a risk with a warehouse deal, this was described as new and repackaged, it came in a plain brown box but all still sealed parts. I was replacing a 20 year old Dyson hand held and this is a million times better compared to the Dyson, even to what the Dyson was like when new.
I have a Miele cat and dog cylinder vacuum so wanted to try their handheld. I am not disappointed at all and think the handheld might even take the place of the cylinder.
Great on hard floors not on carpets
This is a really good quality vacuum, and it’s really good to use on all hardwood floors but because the head isn’t adjustable it’s really hard to use on carpeting, so if you’ve got a lot of carpeting then it’s probably better to look for something else

Superb for the floof a golden retriever creates
This is an excellent pet vac. Strong suction, the light on the brush head is brilliant to see the pet hair on the floor and the emptying is easy peasey. Really splendid job, Miele.
We have waited a while to write this review so we can really try the Miele hand held cordless vacuum out. We have not been disappointed.
We have always had Dyson vacuums and when my cordless handheld stopped working we needed to look into getting a new one. We had bought a Miele cylinder a few months before to replace a Dyson cylinder, and were so happy with the quality that we knew we didn’t want a Dyson again.
The unit is a joy to use. We have the dust unit fitted at the bottom as this make it easier for me to use as I have weakness in my right shoulder. The power suction is amazing. We have a dog who loves to drop hair, a lot of hair! The unit stands on its own and doesn’t fall over. I have only had to use the lowest setting, (1) to deal with hair from the dog and mess under the table from the Grandchildren. I use it every day.
The only thing I would change or have a tiny problem with is the dust unit. The unit has a chunky part on the back of the dust container and it is difficult to hold when emptying. It would be good to have somewhere to put your fingers through. Not something that would have put me off from purchasing it.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Great product from a well known company.. Excellent value for money. We have always had kitchen appliances from Miele and now we have vacuums from them.
So much better than a Dyson handheld.

Good
. A little bit difficult to change parts as the buttons are abit hard. If you work it on the lowest power then yeh it last you three/four rooms . On full power barely lounge and another room. Suction is good

Great cordless vacuum cleaner
Runs rings around Dyson.. Yeah it’s not cheap but neither are Dysons and they are like Fisher price toys compared to this Miela
Typical miele..
I have two of these now because they are so good. They are heavy, but are robust. The suction from them is fantastic. I have the ordinary one and a Cat and Dog both are worth the money. Look out for deals to make this an exceptional buy

Powerful
Exactly what i was looking for, really powerful suction on cordless vacuum and once is engine down, very lightweight.
It' Powerful and takes up Little space. Big BUT with this..
I want something that cleans Powerfully and doesn’t take up too much space.
THIS IS IT. 🙂
HOWEVER.. The designer of the Battery had
HUGE HANDS and HUGE OPPOSABLE THUMBS
Making us mere Gals having to struggle to change it…. and I mean STRUGGLE.
Its disappointing.

Good suction even though motor is only 185W
I was very sceptical about this and spent ages trying to find the rated power (it was in the product description I later discovered). Our previous corded Miele was 1600W and so I though how can this small 185W motor possibly be any good? However I took Miele at their word when they said it was comparable to their corded C3 which is 900W (I think). I can confirm that it works very well and the ease of use going from a cord to cordless is a game changer. The only part of the design which is poor is the cradle which sticks out of the wall far more than necessary and is mostly hollow unused space. It would have been nice if the cradle had the electrical connection so you don’t have to fiddle around trying to find the socket . Also the instructions don’t say how long it takes to charge (it does says 4 hours for first time of use I suppose a bit less when it has been used till flat). A rough guide to charging times would help. My wife used it for the first time today and we both agree it is an excellent product.

Best cordless vacuum on the Marke
Love this vacuum Cleaner. So much suction, spare battery, long running time. Completely knocks the rival Dyson,Vax etc. Out of the running. It cost a little bit more but so worth it!!

Reliable, efficient and a solid feel
It’s just awesome, I love all things Miele, and this lives up to their reputation perfectly.
It does all the house easily.
My only slight criticism is that its a bit heavy for me when used for cobwebbing.
Just a solid, dependable and reliable cordless, well worth the hefty pricetag in my view

A pleasure to use
Fantastic vacuum cleaner, lightweight and very quiet. Easy to use. It’s almost a fight as to who will do the vacuuming now. Recommend highly.
Brilliant little cleane
It may have a small dust collection bin but it’s easy to use great at picking up and well balanced when the main body is down low like an upright . Really pleased with this cleane

The charger needs to be slightly pulled out from socket to allow the switch to be off. When fully inserted into socket the switch is permanently on. Just a small detail that Miele should have dealt with by slightly reducing the width of the charger. Overall I am very pleased with the Triflex Cat & Dog especially at the Amazon special offer price of 395.

Best I have bought for suction powe
Fantastic suction power I find the actual hose length rather long for me as I am only 4’10” and a bit heavier to handle than other cordless I have purchased but the suction power is the best I have ever bought so yes I would definitely recommend this Miele

Way better than Dyson IMHO
I compared this with a Dyson V11 on carpets and lino. I went over both areas with the Dyson. It picked up some dirt.
I then went over the same area with the Miele a few minutes later. Despite having just vacuumed both areas with the Dyson, the Miele picked up up MORE then the Dyson on a second pass. The Miele is a bit heavier than the Dyson, but no where near a game changer IMHO. Plus, you can put the Miele motor near the floor for better handling.
QED
Worth Every Penny!
This was bought to replace our cordless Dyson. Yes, very much more expensive but on a completely different level when it comes to suction and manoeuvrability. Absolutely superb machine, we are delighted with this purchase.

Excellent product that performs exceptionally well.
Nothing to dislike. Battery has lasted far longer than I perceived.
very pleased with product .
very easy and light to use . best of all no cables to trip ove
hat it is an excellent vacuum cleane
Before I bought this one , I had a dyson vaccum cleaner.
There is no comparison.
The Miele one does the work I need in an excellent way!
Strong suction , and very silent!
Brilliant Vacuum
Absolutely amazing, it is so easy to use. The quality is superb. suction is outstanding along with the easy way it goes across floors and carpets. We own another leading brand, the Miele is miles ahead with quality manoeuvrability and suction.

Great hoover, good value
Best hoover ever. Cleans like no other I’ve had, a bit heavy but the suction is superb
A good vacuum cleane
We like the cleaner excellent manoeuvrability in upright mode. A bit awkward to change to hand held and a bit heavy when compared to the Dyson it’s replacing. Overall pleased with the purchase

A gift from heave
I’m shocked at how great this vacuum was in just one use! I got Persian cats during lockdown one in the uk and as they’ve got bigger so has the amount of hair they have! My shark just didn’t pick up anything when it came to cat fur. My carpet feels new, and I could see every single tiny bit of dirt disappear from my concrete floor and my wooden. Having no wires to lug around just makes the job a million times quicker and easier. I am so damn happy.

Excellent Miele produc
Decent overall performance with excellent suction. I have cleaned my small 3 bed semi-detached house on one battery charge…albeit with several bin changes.
Disadvantages of this product have to be the bin capacity, however it did not stop me from buying it, and the battery charging obstructs nearly all my electrical sockets.
Benefits definitely outweigh the disadvantages. I cannot claim to have tried other leading products but a distinct step up from my DC04!

brilliant cleane
yes, so I do have 24 days still to try this and return it and No, I don’t need to! I’ve gone over my 1 year old deep-pile carpet, cleaned religiously with both Philips speed-pro and dyson small ball since purchase and the stuff this triflex has sucked up is disgusting. If you love trackmarks in your carpet the triflex is for you. if you struggle with heavy stick cleaners its for you.
Some reviews have said it’s heavy in stick mode, however I found it very well balanced and, due to the wheels on the brush head, much easier to move over carpet than my old stick cleaner. Even with severe breathing problems I have coped with this – whereas I had to sit on the floor to manage my old stick hoover. It was pricey but god I love this triflex.
If you have hand mobility problems you might find the bin tricky as it requires you to twist the lid to remove and then another twist to open, and the bin fills quickly. Again you might also find it tricky to reconfigure it (standard cleaner, stick cleaner, hand held) which requires some hand strength. However you do always have the option to get it on the 90 day trial and give it a go, before committing to another cleaner that won’t give you that option.
Easy to use
Vacuuming our wood, tiled and carpeted floors. A little difficult to clean filters

Amazing
my best friend from now on! Collects more dirt that any other hoovers I owned ever did all together. Battery lasts quite some time and easy to use.
After a couple of years of owning the Dyson V8 and putting up with a number of frustrations with it (including getting through 2 batteries) I decided to do a bit of research on an alternative. The Miele had a good rating from a number of sites, and having a good impression of other Miele appliances we’ve had, I decided to buy one.
Good Points:
Suction is impressive, even on the low setting. Seems considerably higher than the Dyson and the speed with which it fills the bin with (mostly) dust is amazing.
Flexibility is good from the point of view that it has 3 modes. As the main unit is quite heavy, we favour the mode where the unit is at the bottom rather than the top – it’s much more balanced this way. As a handheld, it’s quite bulky for things like cleaning the car but it’s powerful.
Battery life seems very good, we haven’t managed to exhaust the battery pack in a day of cleaning.
Storage of the unit is great for us as it will stand up on its own when the motor unit is installed on the bottom. We haven’t tried the wall mount because it can be so easily free-standing. It clicks into an upright position and can stand in a corner somewhere. One of the big issues we had with the Dyson was that it was so unstable and top-heavy. It was constantly falling over and the plastic body was seriously cracked from this.
It’s a good looking piece of kit and I favour its classic style over the Dyson’s more futuristic look.
Bad Points:
The collection bin is this sweeper’s Achilles’ Heel. It’s too small for one thing, and fills up quickly. Detaching it from the unit when it’s full is also fiddly and stiff. Turn the top cover too far and you’ll dump the contents all over the floor and your feet as you take the bin off the motor unit. When you come to empty it into a waste bin, it always requires raking out – there’s nothing to push the contents out and it’s too small a space to allow the contents to drop out, because they’re always relatively tightly packed. This is something of a pain. Then, putting it back on the unit is likewise fiddly and stiff.
The standard brush head is quite big and too big to go under a number of items of furniture in our house (which the Dyson went under without a problem).
So far though, these are the only negatives and we’re very happy with the Miele.
My first cordless vacuum cleaner.
Excellent vacuum cleaner. Easy to use and very effective vacuum cleaner. The combination of its suction power and its electric brush is very good on carpets and hard surface floors. The right tool to make vacuum cleaning lean – at least 20% compared to a normal vacuum cleaner. It can be a bit tricky to empty the dust container in the beginning but once you have tried it a few times it is easy. It is recommended to read the manual to get it right from the beginning – also the filter cleaning.
The light in the brush head is an excellent additional feature. Very good value for the money.

Great produc
Only one negative and that is not much space until drum is full. Otherwise very happy.
What’s not to love? It’s solid, extracts more dirt than a Dyson handheld, is much quieter (small children don’t get scared with this one) and it’s not products by My Dyson, which is a huge bonus.
RECOMMENDED – you won’t regret i

This vacuum is heavy, but not unusable. The battery is fine for short uses but it isn’t going to last long on carpeted floors. On hardwood floors the powered and motorised brushes aren’t draining the battery, so it can be used to quickly rush around a 3-bed apartment. Charging the battery takes ages and for no reason I can fathom the wall plug is huge and obstructs adjacent sockets in a multi-socket extension and when flush with a wall socket it pushes the socket power toggle switch!
Was a bit sceptical about moving away from the conventional corded vacuum but so far this vacuum has proved to be a great purchase.
The vacuum can be formed into different sizes to suit requirements. This is easily done by interchanging the various component parts. You can build it into a long handle or short handle variant and vice versa as the cleaning situation determines. The parts connect well and are fairly intuitive but over time I don’t know how robust the connections will remain. The dust collection cylinder is transparent and you can easily see the contents and decide when to empty , although capacity does seem quite small. The majority of the contents empty freely but some assistance is required to clean it thoroughly – we use a small metal peg / wire to ease out any contents remaining.
The vacuum is light and easy to manoeuvre ( a lot lighter than the traditional cylinder) and there is no plug / cable to get in the way when working.
The battery gives about 15 – 30 mins use before it runs down. There isn’t much warning ( a couple of lights begin flashing as a warning – before lights out).
We bought an additional charger and battery to cover this eventuality.
All in all a great vacuum, expensive but so far so good – Miele are known for there quality and resilience, no reason to believe this will be otherwise.
Love the suction power. It’s great on hard floors and carpets. The three power levels are good and the battery indicator is an advantage. The dust bin can be put on two different levels. I found if I left it at the top level then the vacuum wouldn’t stand up as the weight made it topple over. It means it has to really be at the lower level for charging.
Emptying the dust bin is a bit of a challenge. The actual removal from the vacuum is easy, but it gets harder from there. To actually get to the filters to clean, you have to pull really hard on the top of the canister. It’s a shame they couldn’t put a release button on top. The instructions tell you to just keep knocking the filter against the bin to dislodge the dust. Great. You get covered in dust as they say not to use a brush. Sorry Miele but I use an old soft toothbrush (I’m out of warranty now so it’s ok) to dislodge the dust. I find it works really well. Putting it all back together isn’t too easy either.
To be honest I’m really happy with the machine. I have three dogs who shed hair every time they move so I vacuum around 4 times a day. If it wasn’t for the emptying of the dust bin, this would have been given 5 stars.
Quality produc
Lovely powerful vacuum but with Ltd battery life on full power. It’s great for in-between proper vacuuming, so will still keep my mains powered Miele.
Battery
Battery life is very short and the brush on the head keep sticking you need to use scissor to remove the dirty hair so you can get back the vacuum cleaner working
As my personal view my old Henry much better just only problem it’s with the cable and you need to plug i

Love it!
Finally a cordless vacuum that ticks all the boxes!! Had a cordless Dyson for a few years but had so many issues with it so decided to bite the bullet and go with the recommendation of a Miele. Can’t fault it apart from no light on the front as advertised.

User friendly, manoeuvrability good as is the suction power. Good battery life and relatively lightweigh
Great produc
Great product. Many available on Amazon Warehouse deals. If you get them at that price point, you are lucky!
Excellent product has exceeded all of my expectations I look forward to doing the house chores with this baby!
Would like a flexible connecting hose to be an available option for this product, otherwise an excellent piece of equipment ~ Very powerful suction ~ fills up the soil container very quickly on full power. Especially like the 2 rechargeable batteries.

handy well made rechargeable Vac
Bought this model because of extra battery producing a total 60 mins use time. certainly picks up well. my only issue is the size of dirt collector, needs very regular emptying, probably 4 times an hours use, but similar vacs seem to have the same issue

This hoover is great at picking up compared to the corded Miele corded Cat & Dog we had previously and far easier to manoeuvre. It seems to give the carpet a really deep clean. The hoover when fully assembled is a little heavier than I thought it would be and I prefer to have the collection canister at the top as it is easier. I found it easy to remove the canister and open it for emptying. I do need to put my hand/some implement in to empty it fully as the dirt doesn’t just all drop out. We have a dog which sheds and the dust mixed with her hair needs help getting out of the canister. Aside from that minor point, I love this hoover and highly recommend it. On full charge and on maximum power it hoovers for around 15-20 minutes and then needs another charge.
Swapped a Dyson for this model and apart from the weight this vacuum cleaner out performs the Dyson in every aspect.
Pleased with my Miele, cleaning job is more pleasant now. Solid machine.
WHAT A TOOL !!
My wife has been struggling to vacuum our floors for a while so during lockdown we decided to look at cordless vacuum cleaners.Being a Miele user we ordered the new Triflex HX1 cat and dog from Amazon ,my wife says its fabulous so light/powerful (a quality product) as usual from Miele.
Good to use.
This is an easy vacuum to use. It’s surprisingly powerful and copes very well with the many hairs shed by my dog. My only difficulty is that, with arthritic hands, emptying the dust out is a little awkward.

Incredible suction on this lightweight cordless vacuum. I bought it to replace a heavy corded model from another manufacturer and I am delighted with the Miele performance. The most demanding setting lasts for 12 minutes of battery power – more than enough to finish the task throughout our 3 bedroom bungalow. The medium power setting is also very good and extends the battery by another 30 mins or so. You do, of course, have to work out how best to cope with dust disposal from the bagless canister, but that is true of all bagless vacuums, I guess. 5 stars for suction, weight and manoeuvrability. So why not 5 stars overall? Because I had to send it back after 5 weeks of fairly light use for what turned out to be a faulty battery. Not at all what you expect for 500. Miele replaced it fairly quickly, but the whole thing was an unnecessary hassle and involved a robust telephone exchange with Miele about whether it was Amazon’s problem or Miele’s. Miele accepted the problem and the machine has now been returned with a new battery. It’s all working again as of today, but if it goes again in another 5 weeks – or even 5 months – I will be re-visiting here to radically downgrade the product.
Power suctio
Dust box very small for jobs. Good suction power. Approx 20 mins use per charge
best position for the power unit at the bottom otherwise vacuum overbalances unless supported
up to now used only for floor cleaning .The machine is extremely quiet. The light is a real plus too.Briefly tried the hand unit.Found it very heavy to use and to disassemble the machine in the above position.I wonder now whether I should have bought a vacuum and separate handheld with abetter range of tools.Overall it is brilliantly engineerd As a big fan of Miele Ii shall persevere.

I’ve had this Miele for over a week now and used it several times. I bought it to replace a Dyson Absolute and a Miele corded Cat and Dog. The Pros: the suction power is incredible. It picks up so much in comparison to the Dyson. Great that you don’t have to change heads to go from hard surfaces to carpet. Unlike some reviewers, I love the light. I don’t think it’s a gimmick at all. It really helps you see what’s hiding in the corners and around skirting boards. I’m getting plenty of power from one battery to do the whole apartment (we’re on three floors) so may not have needed the extra battery. But I don’t always do all the vacuuming in one go. The Cons: the price, of course, but you are getting the quality you’d expect from anything by Miele; it is heavier than the Dyson; the dust container seems quite small so I have to empty it several times when using but that does show how effective it is; I’ve also found it hard to release the tube, etc – I have to put my foot on the head while pressing the button; it doesn’t go as flat as the Dyson so while I can vacuum under the bed, I’ll keep the Dyson to get under the sofas. Rather disappointed that I’ve had to spend even more to buy the small head for doing the stairs as the main head is too unwieldy. Is it worth the money? On the whole, yes, just for the incredible suction. My corded Miele has been a trusty workhorse for years and this is a definite step forward.
I have had a Dyson stick vacuum for years and so it was good to be able to compare the latest Miele offering.
Immediately there is a plus point – there are lots of ways to connect all the parts of the vacuum, but in one configuration it can stand up on its own. There is no need to bolt a charging point to the wall and so it is more flexible. You will have to find a home for all the spare pieces of the vacuum that you are not using though, which is always a pain.
The next big plus point for the Miele is that the power is controlled by a push switch (off plus 3 settings) rather than a trigger. That means that you do not have to grip the handle tightly to hold the trigger in place when using the vacuum.
The battery might last 45 mins at the lowest setting but at maximum power it lasts less than 20 mins – not enough to clean the whole house. The capacity of the vacuum itself is rather small as well – it managed the carpeted living room and one bedroom before it needed emptying. That is a bit smaller than the Dyson which is annoying. It is also a little awkward to empty – when the container is at maximum capacity, I had to pull some of the dust and dirt out with my fingers as it did not drop straight into the bin. It was also a little awkward to slot the dust container back onto the vacuum.
The light on the vacuum is useful for spotting crumbs on a tiled floor, and there are lots of attachments for the hoover for different cleaning tasks. The machine is flexible and pivots to turn corners easily. The main attachment (the one that you use if you want the vacuum to stand up on its own) is a bit taller than the main attachment on the Dyson and so it does not fit into as many tight spaces.
If it had a better battery life and larger dust container, I would have scored the vacuum more highly.
I thought it might be tough to justify the price of this as it’s almost a couple of hundred more than the cordless Vax we got around a year ago, which I’ve been incredibly happy with, and so was expecting this to be pretty special, and can honestly say that it absolutely is – prior to the recent Vax model (which is very powerful and easy to handle and charge etc), we had an older Dyson model which was also incredibly well made, had great suction and put in a good few years, but this is far superior than either of them on most every front for me and I think worth the extra outlay – it’s an amazing price of equipment, makes everything so easy and quick and is astounding what it drags out of seemingly very clean carpets!
Once fully charged I was pleased with how relatively light it was to carry up stairs and get going – it’s very portable and easy to handle, and less cumbersome than the Vax. Going straight in at the highest suction setting (there are three power settings which is great for when you need less juice just for a light sweep, on hard floors etc as it saves battery charge – and is also an extra setting compared to the two on our Vax) I was seriously impressed by the incredible suction power at full whack – in that first moment when you turn it on you wonder if it’s actually going to pull the carpet up! And despite having hoovered less than 48 hours before I was blown away/concerned by how much it was pulling out of seemingly thin air and how quickly it was filling up – my mother-in-law would have been horrified if she’d seen what just one room had surrendered to this! Suitably impressed, hoovering suddenly felt very exciting and I attacked the house from top to bottom – honestly wouldn’t like to say how many times I emptied it as I don’t feel it would paint a fair picture of my fairly good housekeeping ethos! The three power settings and auto-switch for different surfaces along with how easy this is to handle make hoovering incredibly easy, quick, lightweight and actually enjoyable – there’s a perverse sense of satisfaction watching just how much otherwise invisible hair and dust etc this unit will reveal.
But beyond the impressive power capability one of the real winning points for me is the handheld – I didn’t have this on the Vax and changing the head attachment on the main unit to achieve similar results was a pain, time consuming, annoying and only partially effective with the result being that most of the time I wouldn’t bother – once again, the Triflex put me to shame and showed the consequences of having done that for the past year or so and on top of this it came in incredibly handy for places I wouldn’t usually consider attempting to hoover and would instead use a brush, polish etc – it’s perfect for all those awkward and difficult little spots, espeically if you attach the two for extra reach and scope.
This, along with the main unit and the third Transformer-like hybird-mode, the ease of use, good battery life and capacity and easy wall storage (I opted to have this on a dedicated wall in the utility – displayed like a piece of art, compared to the spot the Vax got behind the cloakroom door) all make this the perfect machine for me. Completely in love with it and don;t doubt all my friends and family are sick to death of hearing about it now as despite having used it for a good couple of weeks now I still get excited when I convince myself that our rather spotless house could do with another quick hoover.
Absolutely love it, 100% happy with it and not a bad word to say about it. The true test will be how long it lasts but with good product cover along with the fact it seems incredibly robust and well made this isn’t something that I think will ever be an issue. An absolute winner and brilliant contender for more well known brands.
I have had a number of vacuum’s over the years and my current favourites were a Bosch and a Dyson. This has now superseded those and combined all the best bits of a stick and a handheld and merged them into one perfectly crafted device. The Miele is truly superb.
So, it comes well presented and inside the box you get the vacuum, wall mount, charger and three accessories. Instantly I love the fact there’s a wall mount included. It looks superb and assembling it you can feel the quality.
There are 3 configurations to it. You can configure it as a traditional stick stle, as a handheld or a hybrid utilising the handle to reach areas high above etc. It is very versatile. It doesn’t feel flimsy or creaky and is nice and reassuringly solid. Once assembled I plugged it in and waited a few hours ofr the battery to fully charge, Some models come with a second battery and a desktop charger but that can also be bought separately although availability is limited at time of review asd the product is so new.
There are 3 power levels all of which affect run time accordingly. Turning it on the vacuum makes a pleasing sound that’s not overly intrusive. The motorised brush head literally seals itself to the floor and during movement you can hear little puffs where the seal breaks. Its superb. It adjusts automatically from carpet to hard floor and to be honest the amount it picked up you’d swear I hadn’t vacuumed in years. It’s astounding.
Emptying it is reasonably straightforward and the can holds a decent amount. I’d say you probably need to empty it at least once doing an average house.
I lamented my Bosch that although great as a stick, had tools that were impractical to use and the dyson wasn’t capable of being a full house cleaner. It’s a futuristic and well designed vacuum that I really enjoy using.
We have a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner which is quite heavy and as we’ve got older it’s becoming more and more difficult to clean the stairs and carry it upstairs to clean the bedrooms. We therefore got this cleaner to leave upstairs to avoid all the carrying and faffing about. However, although this is of the ‘stick-style’ cordless cleaner it is quite substantial – not as heavy as our Dyson but not as light as some of the cheaper stick cleaners.
This is a very well-engineered and designed product (easily on a par with Dyson) and it can be assembled in three different ways to give different cleaning options. It has three power settings accessed from a switch on the handle and it is powerful with excellent suction – on our first couple of cleans of the lounge and bedrooms we quickly filled up the see-through plastic dust cylinder. It also has a light on the front, like an old Hoover we used to have. In working the cleaner is not too noisy (compared to the mega noisy Dyson) and it handles easily both on carpets, the kitchen tiled floor and on the stairs.
The cleaner comes with a a wall bracket and three cleaning tools which can be mounted in a rack on top of the wall bracket. It also comes with two batteries (1 spare) and a battery charger with charge indicator. The batteries reportedly last for two hours and the cleaner has a battery life indicator.
I must admit that since we’ve got this cleaner we now use it upstairs and downstairs in preference to the Dyson, although it isn’t quite as light or as quiet as we’d hoped. The other downside is the smallish dust cylinder – it is in proportion to the size of the cleaner but if you have a largish house you’ll probably need to empty it quite often. It is also VERY expensive at over 600, so more than high end Dyson and Bosch cleaners.
These cordless vacuum cleaners have now been around long enough to make honest and informative comparisons with. From the lightweight cheaper models to the more robust, and when I say robust I am referring to this Mighty Beast, the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro. It is indeed mighty as compared with others.
First of all, this is a heavy cleaner and not for the faint hearted. It feels and performs like a high quality corded vacuum and is as powerful as one. Being cordless, the amount of suction power is quite simply, stunning. In use on carpets it does exactly what it should and does it with ease. On longer pile carpets it can be a bit of a problem, but by turning the power to 1 (out of 3) it makes the job easier – best of all, even on lower power it still works brilliantly.
At first, all the fitting together is somewhat tight and a bit stiff, but after a few days of use and having emptied the dust etc out, it all soon becomes easier (and friendlier) to use. The ‘heads’ that come with the cleaner are OK but come nowhere near the usability of the carpet one. This head is wider and flatter than most and does the job better than most corded vacuums I have ever used. The extension tube is straight, heavy and very well made. It is long enough to be helpful in that you don’t need to bend whilst cleaning – good for back sufferers like me.
The ‘motor’ unit can be placed at either end of the extension tube, giving it more versatility. Although it is best fitted low down for carpets etc as it becomes much more comfortable to use – it can be quite top heavy if you fit the motor to the top of the extension tube.
As this is such an amazing cleaner the dust bowl fills very quickly (my wife says it is, like most of these cordless cleaners, too small) and it can be quite fiddly when emptying it, meaning you often need to pull out the bits, especially if like us you have a small dog that tends to leave hair all over the place.
Of course there are a couple of negatives, such as the dust collector being too small and the whole thing being very heavy for a cordless cleaner, but these are not enough to lose even one star,
This is a Miele product and like all Miele products, it is designed and made to a very high standard and should last for many years. Yes the battery charge does not last long (although with this cleaner you do get TWO batteries), but it cleans quickly and efficiently. The whole unit is heavy, possibly too heavy for some of you, but the weight is necessary to perform as well as it does. The unit can be lifted onto a charging plate for ease of storage and keeping it fully charged – it can also charge the second battery in its own special charger (GREAT IDEA MIELE). Finally it is an amazing cleaner that does a brilliant job.
In my opinion you will be hard pressed to get a cordless cleaner that actually does the job of keeping your carpets clean and looking good with any other cleaner. Yes it is expensive, yes it is a bit heavy, but if you want quality in a cleaner and you (like us0 want your carpets to always look the best, then it must be Miele all the way.
Dog hairs mainly on wood floors, really powerful and with typical German craftsmanship, put Dyson in the shade .
