Gateron Optical Switches – The fastest Switches for gaming!
Optical switches are much more durable than conventional mechanical keyboard switches and are rated for 100 million keystrokes.
They have a high actuation point of 1.5mm for fast response. Light Strike optical switches utilize a horizontal infrared beam which is transmitted across the width of the inner keyswitch.
The infrared beam is normally blocked from reaching a sensor across from it by the stem. Once a switch is pressed, the switch stem no longer blocks the infrared beam and the beam is detected by the sensor, which activates the switch.
Due to the optical mechanism, an optical switch has an extremely fast response time of 0.2ms, which means faster reactions in those times where timing is critical, such as when gaming.

This keyboard is great for the price. It is hot swap for only the switch you get so optical or mechanical. It has nice rgb if you are interested in that and is an excellent choice as a starter keyboard an.d if you are getting into keyboard modding. The small form factor may sometimes be confusing and mistypes every now and then. Overall it is a great keyboard.

I’ve purchased two of these: one clicky blue, and one linear optical red. Firstly, the case is a good starter case with sensible function layouts and a good quality feel. The keycaps do need an upgrade, but this is a great 60% hotswappable board for those wanting their first ‘custom’ keyboard. The price of this is much lower than buying separate PCB, plate, case, stabilizers, switches, etc. so it’s a great entry point.
However, there are a couple of things to note:
1) the escape key defaults to the backtick/tilde, so you’ll need to remap this in your OS (easy to find info on how to do this on the internet).
2) specific to optical switches, the ‘thock’ produced when bottoming out on the linear opticals is hollow and noisy. There’s no sound dampening (which I wouldn’t expect at this price), but the optical switches sound louder than their mechanical counterparts. Depending on your usage, I’d go with the mechanicals for a bigger range of alternative switches (when/if you want to change them).
3) if you do want to swap the switches, the mechanical PCB only supports ‘3-pin’ switches, so you won’t be able to use ‘5-pin’ switches unless you cut two of the plastic stabilizer pins off each switch.
The mz60 keyboard is great. I received my package 2 days before the estimated delivery date which was fantastic, straight out of the box the keyboard works perfectly, the switches are nice and the rgb is amazing with many different colour pre-sets. However the software did take some time to work correctly however that is a minor issue. The hotswap feature is also very useful and the included switch and keycap puller mean you can do this out of the box
It’s a pretty nice keyboard, the preset lighting is very nice in particular and the form factor. What I didn’t like was that the escape key is a function control, and the keys feel wobbly, but not cheap feeling per say. The blues are also hella loud for anyone buying this as a first, you mightnt know what you’re getting into, it might be an idea if you play a lot of games late at night to pick yourself up some yellows for W, A, S and D etc. So you don’t wake your neighbours lmao
Awesome for the price. Used software to switch escape and tilde around but besides that the keyboard feels amazing. Great feeling clicks and tasteful rgb.

Un vero peccato perch la costruzione eccellente se paragonata al prezzo.
Keycaps in ABS ma fatti molto bene, switches (marroni) ottimi e stabilizzatori molto silenziosi.
Hot swappable e se scegliete i meccanici potete poi sostituirli con qualsiasi meccanici compatibili MX.
Io utilizzo parecchio home, end, selezione testo ed in alcuni casi la combo da fare mi rallenta. Penso di cambiare con una 65% (Qsan) o TKL.
Mi girano parecchio perch scrivere con questa tastiera veramente piacevole e customizzarla molto semplice.
Questa tastiera con layout italiano e 65% o TKL sarebbe per me la perfezione!
Voto 5 stelle comunque, non va bene per me ma la tastiera le merita tutte 5 stelle!

Es gibt nur zwei Contra Punkte von meiner Seite aus.
– Die Tastatur ist am wippen. Unten links, die Gummierung ist etwas zu hoch? Also da ist ein Spielraum von ca. zwei bis drei mm und somit wackelt die Tastatur.
– Die FN Taste (unten Rechts) muss man gedrckt halten um Escape nutzen zu knnen. Was bei manchen Games echt problematisch bzw. auf Dauer nervig sein kann und nein … die Escape Taste anders zu belegen funktioniert nichts.
Und nur gaaaaanz nebenbei … Die Software von der Tastatur sagt, “Update Verfgbar!” aber das Programm hngt sich sofort auf, wenn man es Updaten mchte.
An sich ein sehr gutes Produkt fr den Preis aber hab es leider retourniert, da es mich schon genervt hat mit der Escape Taste und den Wippen, zumal man das wippen bzw. sagen wir wackeln dazu mit nem minimalen Stck Papier Ausgleich kann.
Also lauf Empfehlung geht raus mit Leuten die starke Nerven habe.
For 59.99 this is a great keyboard on the market, 60 percent with hot swap capabilities and the stock stabilizers are decent. The weight feels great, the rgb and it’s control is great. The software could use a little fine timing but for this price it’s top tier.

Really good keyboard however I would not recommend using this keyboard for a macbook or any mac device.
I bought this to fit on a smaller desk, without breaking the bank. I’m impressed overall by the quality for the price, some minor issues however that can be resolved. A great keyboard going from membrane to mechanical.
Pros-
Gateron browns sound great- there appears to be some lube applied straight out the box. Not a lot is applied, but its infinitely better than most boards in this price range, and you could always apply your own. Stabilisers aren’t exactly the best, but not noticeably awful. No whine or deck flex either when typing. Nice. Key cap and switch puller are also included, so you can hot swap to whatever you fancy.
Solidly built. Although it is made out of plastic, you really cant tell. No rattling or odd sounds, has a good weight to it, no deck flex. Compares nicely to a metallic board.
Really nice RGB, very bright and no dead zones across the board. Doubleshot ABS keycaps give it a nice shine through and ensures the legend wont fade over time. The MZ60 also has on-board lighting effects straight out the box, so you can customize lighting even without the software.
Cons-
Software is serviceable at best, but still useable. Had to do some messing around in program files in order to download the latest firmware. Could definitely use some tweaking, but not a deal breaker considering what you get out the box and at this price point.
Questionable design choice with the esc key, but can be remapped using SharpKeys. Not sure why a symbol key I have never personally used takes function priority over a key everyone uses daily. Still, fixable.
TLDR; Best mechanical keyboard at this price point. Some minor yet fixable issues, great switches, great keycaps, great RGB, solidly built. Can’t go wrong for 55 quid. Happy camper with my first mechanical board. Well done Mizar!

Muy buena construccin, robusta, layout ISO que ayuda, las keycaps me han gustado mucho, la pega es que mi unidad vino defectuosa y la he tenido que devolver.
Contras:
– el ESC hay que pulsar Fn para que funcione y es un poco tedioso.
– la tecla FN bloquea la tecla Windows e esto interfiere si quiere usar atajos de teclado para cambiar de escritorio virtual.

I was totally blown away from the build quality on this mech. Keyboard, I went for the Gateron optical brown switches, it sit’s well on the desk and dose not move, I am well chuffed with this and would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into mech. Keyboards.
I have this keyboard in gateron optical black switches and it feels amazing. The build quality is great and the case has no bend to it. The only problem with the keyboard is that the space bar is quite rattly. Apart from that, this keyboard is amazing value.

It is a good quality product. Keycaps good quality. Pre lubed. Switches are loud so if you do not want that get brown or red switches as oposed to Blues.
Quality keyboard, looks great, great range of rgb – any main colour you want, most effects can be changed colour. Only bad thing is the software DOES NOT WORK. So you cannot individually change the rgb of a key.
This keyboard is amazing. Not only is it a hot swappable but the switches sound amazing and the keycaps are grippy and look great. The one thing I’m not so 100% about this keyboard and this is why its not a 5 star is because the bigger keys are a bit wobbly but nothing that will be annoying or a problem to any extent. The keys and the switches are very easily removable with the included removers. The braided cable is also very nice. And not to forget this did come a day faster that expected.
This is an absolutely amazing keyboard for the price, it sounds very nice and comes and there is full customisation for the RGB on the keyboard which I LOVE.
