Love this product and my husband loves the soups. Could have done with more recipes to try. We personally loved the chicken & veg and the pea and ham. The others didn’t appeal. The only thing was I found it a bit of a faff to clean. Not hard at all, I’m just a bit lazy. I would recommend this to anyone wanting more veg in their diet that is tasty. Great product.

Makes really good soup, personal favourites so far creamy chicken and mushroom, and broccoli and Stilton. Served with garlic bread, delicious! Great to be able to see the soup cooking, only downside is cleaning. Even with the clean cycle needs aggressive hand washing as well. Also be wary of tomato soup as it stains.

This was a present, so we have not used it. However, we have been using a similar Morphy Richards soup make for several years and we can confirm that, once you have got used to its method (read the instructions!) it makes very good soup. It has a 1.6 litre capacity. Our preference would be something around 1.8 litres, but nevertheless we cannot complain as in all other respects it’s excellent.

I would recommend this soup maker. Very easy to use. Put the ingredients in, push the button and that’s it. Fantastic soup made. The smooth mix really is smooth, much better than using a stick mixer. Very impressed.

Wish we had bought one earlier. Made loads of delicious soups. Only thing to watch is potato tends to stick/burn so have stopped using it and had no issues with soups subsequently.

Although more basic than some on the market this device works well. An early complaint/observation is the way the plastic body discolours after just a few uses. This doesn’t affect the way it works but maybe they should rename it ‘Clarity- but not for long !’

I’ve never had a soup maker, or made soup before, so I can’t do a comparison. This make the most delicious soup easy. There are only a few recipes in the instruction booklet so I bought a couple of soup maker books. I’ve had it 2 weeks and already made 2 soups and bought the ingredients for 2 more. Cleaning is so easy using the clean function. Love it!!

This is a really good piece of kitchen equipment. I made a really great tasting thick soup with a mix of leftover vegetables and stock.

It is so easy to use, simply add the ingredients and switch it on. It will start by boiling the ingredients to soften them, and then the blend function will kick in to mix the ingredients together.

The soup maker gives you the option of a chunky or smooth blended soup. I opted for the smooth option and the finished soup was hot, tasty and perfectly smooth. It tasted amazing with a little bit of cream and some crusty rolls.

    Brilliant soup make

My Fianc and I both love soup but were finding our electric pressure cooker was taking an age to cook a batch of soup. We love this soup maker as you can cook up a small portion or a whole jug full. We chop up our raw vegetables, add boiling water and a stock cube and set the device to cook the soup, which usually takes around 23 minutes. The soup it makes is perfect, lovely and hot and super quick to make. The size of the jug makes it easy to store away in a cupboard when not in use. You can choose to blend your soup once it is cooked but we prefer our soup to be nice and chunky. This great soup maker has finally given me the confidence to pop on some soup and make it myself rather than relying on my Fianc to get out his large pressure cooker. The soup maker is super quick and easy to clean with no awkward parts to try to clean. This soup maker is making me eat a lot more soup now which is great for my daily vegetable consumption. I highly recommend this soup maker as it is so easy and simple to use.

    Super Fast Soup

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a good looking , easy to operate soupmaker. The hotplate is always a bit of bother to clean as soup will invariably stick to it. Having made soup today, it shut itself down when I tried to use the cleaning function. I suspect it is a bit temperamental when it gets hot and is too sensitive. After a cooldown period of about half an hour it reset itself and works fine again.

The Soup Maker was delivered quickly, is very high-quality and easy to use.

There are 3 settings: Smooth, Chunky, Blender. So far I have always taken the Smooth variant and between cooking have used the pause function to stir for seasoning. All you have to do is put all the ingredients up to the minimum – maximum specification, fill up with water and/or cream/cream, season, adjust and in 21 minutes the soup is ready!

I have tried out the recipes mentioned in the recipe book but most of the times, I have just used whatever is available in the house. It works great most of the times but have left the pot burned a couple of times but I think that was my fault as I used too many veggies and less water. Cleaning the burnt pot was quite easy as well as you just have to leave it for a couple of hours filled with water.

I really like that it is transparent so that you can see it cooking and monitor the progress of your soup. Although, mostly, I just switch it on and forget about it until its lunch/dinner time.

I am really pleased with the product and would highly recommend it. 4 Stars

Having read previous reviews I was quite apprehensive about trying this. I seem to have been one of the lucky ones who got one of the “good ones” in that mine hasn’t overheated and cut out. Whilst I love soup I HATE making it as for some reason it always sticks to the bottom of the pot and I’ve no patience for standing stirring constantly for an hour. This was easy to use. Popped my chopped veg and stock in, turned it on and came back to soup ready to eat. I opted for smooth as I’m too lazy to chop my veg all the same size so like to blend it. I got 4 decent lunch sized portions out of it which as I live alone worked out great as it done me for the working week (with a treat lunch on Friday!)
The self clean mode is a god send! No one likes trying to clean things like blenders so anything that does it for you is brilliant!
Over all, I’m pleased with this. I was worried it would be a novelty but no, it’s now my go to gadget as on a Monday I can pop it on half an hour before lunch time and have my weeks worth of lunches ready by the time my morning meetings are done. And that’s my kind of meal prepping!

A surprisingly handy gadget to ow

This review is for the Morphy Richards 501050 Clarity Soup Maker Clear Like Glass, 4 programs

Product arrived well packaged and on time. This is a good quality soup make and easy to use. The instructions are well laid out and easy to follow. I personally googled the item and found some instructions on how to use the product which was simple to follow. Following this I have so far made 3 different soups and all have turned out fantastic. Would recommend for anyone that loves making homemade healthy soup!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt is very convenient to use, it can be used to make soy milk or tofu, and the cleaning mode is great for me. The price is also moderate. The downside is that it can easily absorb heat. You have to stop and continue to use it. The corn soup made is very delicious!

    Highly recommended.

As my wife has problems digesting vegetables a dietician recommended supping them Having read a glowing review of this new model we invested in it and can only recommend it highly. The only minor downside is that the volume only allows the two of us to have soup on two days. Hence we have fresh soup very other day!

Very simple to use , wash quick also . The soup maker is sturdy and well made , definitely save the time in the kitchen!

I have used a soup maker for a few years and really enjoy making my own soup with fresh homemade bread. I like to make a smooth soup then add chunkys of veg so that I have a smooth thick chunky soup which means putting the smooth cycle on followed by the chunky soup mode. However where my usual soup maker will run the two one after the other this one will not, I have to run the smooth soup mode and wait for 30 minutes for it to cool before I can add my chunks of veg or meat which is a bit of a pain. This soup maker also has a cleaning mode which I have not used as it is so easy to clean anyway, I don’t think you really need it. Other than that it is a good appliance which I will carry on using.

    Easy to make tasty soup.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve wanted a soup maker for such a long time, so was delighted to try this Morphy Richards one out. I wasn’t originally looking for a high-end one, but I do like that this one is glass, and it does make darn good soup.

    Soup making 5/5
    ——————–
The best thing about this: it makes gorgeous soup. I was skeptical about how it knows how long to cook different vegetables, but the preset times for each function seem to do a great job as if by magic.

In smooth mode, it heats the ingredients up, and blends them over time in bursts, until the end when it blends them up until smooth. In chunky mode, it just heats the veggies up. At the end of each it remains in “heating mode” so you can serve it nice and hot.

It cooked smooth leek and potato soup to perfection, and cooked frozen chunky root veggies also beautifully, so seems great for a variety of veg and different types and textures. It is capable of making a lot, which from looking at it isn’t obvious, but I’d say it easily makes 4 servings.

If you want to blend either up any more, there is a manual blending button on the top where you can smoothen ingredients out if need be. Annoyingly though, it doesn’t stay in “heat up mode” after doing this.

In either mode, you can lift the lid and add ingredients mid-cooking, it will just pause the cycle.

    Design (3/5)
    ————–
The design is the only place where it falls short, unfortunately. Just a few caveats – although, it wouldn’t put me off buying it.

    First, the good:
    * Lid has an inbuilt, grippy flip-out handle
    * It’s a great size, fitting lots of ingredients in including fluid
    * Clearly marked min/max lines
    * The functions are easily marked on the top and are easy to use
    * Different animated light patterns to show what stage the cycle is in (like heat mode)
    * Timer is clear and finishing beep is loud
    * Glass jug design is clever, it’s great to watch the progress and it pours mess-free
    * Looks very snazzy and is super sturdy on the base as it’s quite heavy and wide

    And the bad:
    * The blade isn’t detachable
    * The blade obviously sinks passed the max line, so you have to sort of dig it into any chopped up vegetables which is annoying – my partner let go of it doing this at one point sending soup flying everywhere
    * The top is quite heavy and the blade being attached makes adding ingredients mid-cooking awkward – you either need to rest it somewhere sideways to use two hands (like to grind pepper) or manoeuvre it one-handed and just chuck bits in

    Cleaning 4/5
    —————
Cleaning the unit is fairly seamless, however you can’t submerge either the top or the bottom because of electrics which is a bit annoying. The top is just wipe-clean, which isn’t too hard to maintain.

For the glass jug, luckily there’s a “clean” setting, where you add a teeny bit of washing up liquid, some warm water and set the clean cycle going (only a few mins). This is such a useful function to get some of the more stubborn ingredients off the glass, bottom and blade. You can then wipe clean any remaining residue and rinse the jug out – we then just leave ours upside-down to air-dry and store it on a shelf.

    Performance 5/5
    ——————–
No matter what hardness of vegetable we’ve used it’s showed no signs of struggle or burning out whatsoever, and it chops everything up with ease.

In regards to the other negative reviews (which concerned me before getting it), my partner dropped the lid and fluid went everywhere (we had to dry it out), and it still functions fine, so whether the company have fixed cut-out issues now I’m not sure but we’ve had no issues at all with performance. We do make sure not to overfill it though and clean it properly.

    Overall
    ——–
All in all, as a soup maker, this makes delicious soup. Whether it’s chunky, smooth or in-between, it makes cooking a pleasure. It does say you can make smoothies, but to be honest I’d just use an actual smoothie maker for this as this is a bit overkill for that.

However, even with the design flaws, the fact washing it on “clean mode” is quick and easy, and it makes making (yummy and healthy) soup a breeze, I can confidentially recommend it highly. We’ve used it a lot so far and it comes with some inspiring recipes too, so we will keep experimenting and I’d say it’s worth the money.

Never having had anything like this before, I was apprehensive at the outcomes I would get.

I picked up a Soup Recipe book alongside this product (cost me 5) and the two combined have made my work lunches a whole new experience!

Personal favourite so far : Moroccan Chickpea Soup.
(Only at recipe 24 of 100 so plenty more to try!!!)

Very easy to use – simply fill with required ingredients, choose Chunky or Smooth, and click Start.
The Machine made a few more noises than I had expected it too – but it’s done in 20mins so not intrusive.
What comes out is perfectly heated, perfectly blended soup (apparently you can make it blend more to get smoother soup but I have not needed to as yet, everything has come out just as I want it to first time).
It suggests “serves up to 4 people per go”. I must be soup-er greedy (sorry – bad pun) because I only get 2 and a bit servings out of a full run.

All told, this has transformed my lunches. I make up a couple of batches on my days off, divide into microwave soup containers and chill, and just grab a new one every day for work. 3 mins in Micro at work, and piping hot home-made soup.

    Cannot recommend this product enough!

This is such a good appliance. I have endeavoured to make soup in the past with a blender but got fed up of having to boil all the ingredients first – with the soup maker it is so easy. There are loads of simple on line recipes to follow and it is just a case of throwing it all in and letting the Soup maker do the business. Every soup I have made so far has been fantastic and I actually look forward to experimenting and trying all new broths. Always ample to freeze or chill for later. Very easy to clean and it is like a large kettle, very easy to store. The see-through aspect is quite mesmerising.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI own quite a few appliances by Morphy Richards, and I’m a fan of what they have to offer. Their products have never failed me, so I was keen to try out their new soup maker. I had never owned a soup maker before, so I was looking forward to giving it a go. The maker itself is a decent size, and quite heavy. Being Murphy Richards, you definitely get quality with this product. It is also very simple to use, and the instructions are straight forward and clear. I tested this out by making a banana and strawberry smoothie, and also some soup with turmeric, ginger and almond milk. I must say that this little gadget worked great for both. The smoothie function must be held down to achieve the required thickness, and it turned out really well. The smoothie tasted great, and it didnt’ have any left over lumps. As for the soup, it took twenty minutes, and was super easy to do. I simply diced the ingredients and put them in. The soup maker heated the vegetables and then diced them into a smooth consistency. The soup was delicious, and the machine was flawless. It didn’t go off or act temperamental, it worked fine for me, and was easy to clean. The only trouble I had was with the turmeric. I added turmeric to my soup and it has now unfortunately stained the plastic bright yellow and I can’t seem to get it off. Overall though, this is a great gadget and I will definitely use it often in the future. It’s a must have. I highly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery easy to use, just throw the stuff in and press start and ready to pour out 21 minutes later, what is not to like? I like it being plastic so you can see the soup mixing up. Not had it long but tried out all the recipe’s in the booklet and all were delicious. Not tried the clean option as I clean it as soon as we have used it. Makes working at home more fun as lunch is something to look forward to!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt’s a handy piece of kit. We made the mushroom soup and it was as quick as it said it would be. The soup came out hot and perfectly smooth — I wouldn’t have been able to get it that smooth even with a hand blender! The time to cook is roughly 20-30 minutes which is perfect — and you don’t have to keep stirring it.
I like the idea I can use it for smoothies as well as soups and look forward to giving it a try.
If I had any criticism I would say it is a bit awkward if you need to add anything to the mix after the program has started, you have to have a paper towel handy to put the top bit on due to the blades being attached. That being said it isn’t a prohibitive issue so overall I am happy with it.

A good soup maker - does make life easie

  50. eithneloveslipstick says:

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a large soup machine – in centimetres approximately H27.5, Depth With Handle D24, Jug Diameter 16, it looks smart in my modern kitchen and I will be keeping it out on show. Please be aware that as everything apart from the blade is made from plastic the jug area gets extremely hot in use, it also emits steam constantly from the spout so not idea to place under low set units.

Very easy to use and clearly marked – two soup modes, clean mode and smoothie/blend mode. There are only two buttons to press ‘mode’ which chooses one of the above-mentioned modes and ‘start/stop’ – that’s it. Once your chosen mode has completed the soup machine automatically goes into ‘keep warm’ mode for 30mins. At any point you can stop the machine by holding down the ‘start/stop’ button for 2 seconds. Everything needs to be washed by hand as no parts can go in a dishwasher. If anything gets stuck on the heating plate instructions recommend fillling with hot soapy water and leaving for 15mins before wiping away with a clean cloth. The ‘clean’ mode runs for 4mins heating up the liquid you popped in for the clean and wizzes intermitently during this time to help with the cleaning.

I make soup usually weekly especially towards the end of the week with odds and sods in the fridge that are still within date but don’t add up to much individually as a meal. I pop everything in a pan with stock and if there isn’t much left over from the fridge I add frozen veg and a bag of frozen chicken/meat pieces which I always have available, bring to the boil, simmer, use my stick blender to make to a consistency we enjoy and eat with chunks of bread – it works out cheap, stops unwanted food waste and is a hearty meal. Now after using this soup machine I can see how convenient this method is ie one pot, no need to keep watch and the soup keeps hot automatically for 30mins after cooking. This method frees my time up and no extra washing up of a pan and blending tool so I think I’m actually converted. The only downside I can find is the cost of the machine not everyone could afford this price – me however am converted but have knocked one star off because of this.
