Quick to set up and just works!
Quite a neat system (no pun intended) – easy to set up and. just works. I’m less sure about its accuracy as my outdoor sensor seem to read a bit more than surrounding/nearbye sensors. A very easy to use system and the fact that you can see the weather data from other NetAtmo users (providing they give permission to share) is very powerful.

    great system and recording
Love this so easy to use and install. pretty accurate and can see the information wherever i am through the app. Batteries still holding up after running for 9 months.
I waited for a while before reviewing but would highly recommend. I have bundled it with the Wind and Rain sensors and they are great as well.

Very reliable and accurate weather data
I have the weather station, rain and wind gauges and an extra indoor module (which is actually in the Greenhouse to detect Frost). I find the modules last quite a long time on the batteries (months). Signal strength between modules is good but placement is key. Mine is linked via an IFTTT routine to flash lights if its raining (don’t want the washing left out) and also to switch on a Greenhouse heater if it gets too cold in early spring. All in all its amazing.

I have only given this review 4* as due to the cost I have had to wait to buy the extras for wind and rain. Would have liked the whole package but quite expensive.
Great user interface to iOS. Waterproof and not had to charge the battery of the indoor or outdoor yet. Easy to use and accurate. Beginners ideal weather station.

Very good weather station, but a bit pricy
I got this on offer Prime Day. I’ve had my eye on this for a while, but the Price put me off.
It is a very good and interesting Weather Station. Very interesting to see how the CO2 levels go up at night as the main unit is still in the bedroom where I set it up.

I would like to get the 3 extra indoor units as well as the Wind and Rain units, the only thing putting me off is the price of them. I would pay 30 each but they are over 50. But overall it’s a really good and interesting unit!

An excellent product but not without issues regarding rain ingress to the outdoor units
I like the simplicity of the unit but I have reservations concerning rain ingress into the outdoor units. Firstly, the wind gauge failed, then the rain gauge, both units had water ingress as the reason for failure. Finally the outdoor temperature unit had to be protected in a polythene bag to stop moisture ingress. I then decided to buy a new rain gauge, but then, the main indoor unit would not detect the new rain gauge. So, I have now bought a new base station and a Stevenson type screen for the new outdoor unit, and the new base station happily detects the new rain gauge! All is well again.

    High Tech Weather Statio
The devices arrived within a couple of days from ordering, even though I’m not a Prime member at this point ( though I am seriously considering it). The suite of device included an indoor temperature and humidity sensor, an outdoor sensor, a solid state rain gauge and a solid state anemometer. Due to our maritime location and frequent extremely high winds(+70 mph) it was important that there were no mechanical moving parts and definitely nothing to be corroded by salty air . I’m looking forward to installing and using the system.

As this is a Christmas present I’m reserving overall judgement for the devices at this time, however I have spoke to a local farmer who uses the system and he is very pleased with the suite of devices. What isn’t obvious is that your devices can form part of a live weather network should you allow your own devices to upload data – something that I find very interesting. Once I’ve had chance to use them I will upload an update to my review.

Well made, well worth the money.
Wanted a replacement to my old 12yr old weather station that was slowly failing. After a lot of searching and reading went for the Netatmo. I am not disappointed. Upon opening it strikes you as well made and engineered. Weather proofing seems very good. Setup is simple, just download the free app and follow the prompts, that easy. Signal strength between base, outdoor and rain unit all visible in the app as is battery power. Access data where ever you are. Well worth the money. Will be adding the wind gauge.

Excellent Weather Station but questionable reliability
I’ve been using Netatmo gear since 2014 after upgrading from a very outdated Oregon Scientific + Weatherview32 system. That worked well enough, but I hated the interface. I wanted something fresh, smart and connected which is the reason I purchased Netatmo.

Netatmo, on the whole, is an amazing weather station. I love the ease of use, functionality and smart features including Alexa support. I enjoy observing the community-driven weather maps and reminiscing past data from my own station. Looking back is a bit like a diary – I can see where my boiler broke when it was just -5 outside and dropped to 10 degrees inside. I can see the unbearable summer heatwaves and sleepless nights. Weather forecasting (7-day) is hit and miss but no service is perfect.

The Netatmo app has always been a pleasure to use and I’ve never had any issues with the software side of things.

Unfortunately, It’s not all good. The hardware simply does not last. Each Netatmo component in my system has had to be replaced at some point over the past 7 years. The modules are the worst as they just don’t last more than 3 years (covered). Even my indoor module died. Thankfully, Amazon have great customer service, so getting the components replaced is not an issue. If this wasn’t the case, then I would not recommend this system.

I’ve had a few stations over the years and this is the best yet. Readings are super accurate and the set up is easy. Web portal is great. I download the data in CSV file format to use in Excel, to calculate heating and cooling degree days. A superb bit of kit all round. The separately available anemometer is a must have.

    Customer support is very good
I have recently had to contact Netatmo customer support regarding my weather station battery usage being far too high as plenty of others have found out.

The unit was mounted under the eves of my garage away from wind, raind and direct sunlight. There was no water ingress and this is the second unit I have had as the first did the same. The agent I dealt with came to the conclusion the outdoor module was faulty and sorted the issue out to my complete satisfaction.

I am not sure why so many rather more negative reviews say this is not the case. Still speaking as I find I am quite happy with Netatmo considering my module was 4 years old..

Quite expensive for the fact that it is actually quite limited in features. It’s interesting that there’s no way to trigger an accurate outside on demand reading from the app.

Hyper-local as-it-happens weather and atmospheric metrics for your phone
It’s taken me a while to have a proper look at this product, but now that I have had a chance to play with it, I have come away a bit perplexed as to who it is really aimed at.

This set comes with the indoor sensor and an outdoor sensor and that’s it. This limits its package capability to measuring temperature, air pressure, CO2 level and humidity, generally speaking. If you’re wanting to measure rainfall then you’ll need to purchase an additional module. Those things alone are pretty helpful though, as you get your own readings for your particular location instead of a more generalised reading that you would get from, say, your local online weather forecast.

The devices themselves seem well-made, although as other reviewers have noted the unit meant for outdoor positioning is not perhaps a rugged and weather-proof as you might think, so you have to be careful how you locate it. Under a soffit of your garage or other low roof point is probably the most sensible as you can get to it relatively conveniently for battery replacement without it getting too battered by the elements.

The wifi connection is ok in my case – but this is likely to be a very relative point as wifi is in and of itself a fractious topic for some people, as there can be numerous issues people have with coverage and interference.

Smart-home connectivity is another odd one, because it supports Alexa as well as HomeKit, but curiously it doesn’t support Google Assistant – which is perhaps the most widely used platform if not of in-home devices themselves (Google Home) then in Assistant-equipped devices (i.e. Android-powered phones and TVs as well as Google Home & NEST). This seems like a strange oversight that is not as inclusive as it could be – but it’s not a major deal.

When you start receiving the feeds of data though it does start to make a bit more sense, as you can see your own personal hyper-local feed of historical metrics which can help you if you need to react to such changes – perhaps if you have specific respiratory issues in your household, or maybe you have indoor or outdoor plants that are sensitive to the climate and may require intervention at short notice. Under that niche view then this range of products will likely find its home. It could really do with a bit more compatibility in the wifi department – maybe even being able to bounce wifi from one device to another to improve range, and I would like to see Google integration to enhance its interoperability with other connected home devices. The outdoor unit could also do with beefing-up to enhance its durability.

If you are one of those niche audiences that will value the granular hyper-local feeds of weather information, then this is a good starter set to get you going. If you don’t think you’ll value the intricacies of the metrics on offer, then just stick with other online local weather functions such as the Weather Underground service.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe outdoor module seems to be the weakspo
There are any number of people reporting that the design of the outdoor module is not up to our weather – with a lot of failures at the 1 year mark. In view of that I have installed both modules indoors, so that I can monitor different sectors of a holiday home (which has 10 different heating zones – with sometimes very different temperatures and meaning you can’t set up HIVE or NEST). This is working so far in terms of remote access, and means I can remotely turn onthe heating when required.

This was relatively easy to set up and it seems to be accurate too. It is not a cheap solution, but so far I am pleased with it.

I actually purchased additional units after trying this!!
This is very simple to set up. Range is good to getting through walls to outside and other rooms. Having had different weather stations over the years I was keen to try this.

Technology has certainly moved on. This tells you noise levels in the main station room, CO2, humidity and temperature. All it a convenient easily readable app which you can share with family or publish to The Netatmo web.

I was so impressed with this I have since purchased the rain gauge, wind speed (which has no moving parts!) and three room sensors. I think that indicates from the free review of a base station I was suitably impressed!!

    So far so good...
I’ve been pleased with this weather station so far, it was relatively easy to set up and the information it gives seems to be accurate when compared to the Met Office.
On opening the box you see two relatively small aluminium cylinders, the larger one for indoors and the smaller for outdoors. I plugged in the indoors cylinder to the mains via the supplied USB cable and it connected to my phone via bluetooth initially, once I’d downloaded the Netatmo app, and then to my WiFi network without a problem.
The only problem I encountered during set up was after inserting the 2 supplied AAA batteries into the outside sensor I struggled to get the screw down lid to close perfectly flush with the seal, it kept gong down on an angle. After a bit of fiddling it screwed down properly.
I’ve read previous reviews about people who have had problems with water ingress with the outside sensor so I’ve placed it under the guttering on my garage (see photo) so hopefully it will stay dry-ish there.
The information you get in the app is nice and simple to understand, as can be seen in my photo’s, and you can also trace graphs for every measurement taken. One measurement I didn’t realise was measured is the CO2 level indoors, this has proven very interesting and shows we should have better ventilation when we have multiple people in our living room!
Its nice being able to access the data wherever I am, as a gardener its proven very handy, and also the feature that lets you see other peoples data who are in the Netatmo network on a map.
I would like to add the rainfall and wind speed sensors to the package but the price is high at the moment but its definitely something I’ll keep an eye on and try to purchase in the future.

    Good internet weather station.
The clever bit is that if you loose internet as we do on rural wireless broadband, the indoor control unit stores the readings it continues to take and then uploads them when connection is resumed, clever.

Bought the rain gauge separately, decided haven’t got a good position for the wind gauge. Placed the outside temperature gauge on the north wall out of the shade. Comes with velcrose and a screw for fixing. Used the velcrose to tape it to the downpipe. There is a discussion point on how good it’s weatherproofed. We’ll see.

It is expensive but clever. Still learning it’s abilities. Good if you are interested in weather. Looking at other Netatmo stations is useful for traveling.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI really do like this
I confess to being a bit of a “weather geek”. I’ve had one of those consumer weather stations for many years but in the last year it had begun to fall to bits and then stopped working altogether.

There were 2 reasons I hesitated over the Netatmo. Mounting weather stations is a bit of a nightmare for the un-DIY type like me. For some reason, I thought the main module was about the size of the original Amazon Echo and the outdoor module the same but a bit shorter. Where to put them? How to mount them? I laughed when I opened the box. The outdoor module is a similar length to and slightly thicker than a Smarties tube. The indoor module about the thickness of those Christmas Smartie tubes, but half the length. And both incredibly light. It was a job of minutes to put a screw in under the eaves of my porch and simply hang the outdoor module on (and perfect for being away from rain and sunlight). The indoor module is small enough to be unobtrusive.

I had no issues at all setting it, and the Android app, up. And this app is really well done, in my opinion. Instant info, graphs for everything with minimum finger presses but beautifully clear and zoomable in and out. And the app also works fine on my Android tablet. Temperature measurements are spot on and barometer pressure agrees with the only remaining working part of my old weather station. I also bought the rain guage, well worth having in my opinion. That was equally easy to mount thanks to a standard tripod mount on the bottom (I used one of those “Gorilla” type mounts to wrap it around the top of a trellis in my garden). I love that you can hook into outdoor Netatmo stations all round the world – I have some marked as “Favourites” that are close to friend’s houses across Europe. I also like the measurement for air quality, something I haven’t had before which has provoked me to open windows more often to improve it – and decided me to get another indoor module for my bedroom.

I haven’t – and won’t get – the wind station. This really needs to be mounted on a roof and, though I liked having my previous one (on a garden wall) it was so hopelessly inaccurate because of obstacles and surrounding houses that I knew it would be a waste of money. Because the only thing I am slightly critical of with this Netatmo kit is value for money. This stuff feels just a bit too expensive for what it is, but that’s my only complaint. And Netatmo stuff appears regularly on Amazon Deals (I’ve been thinking about one for about 2 years, so I’ve been watching).

I’ve read many reports about the reliability of the outdoor sensor. They are worrying but I just haven’t had it long enough to comment personally. I’ve had no issues of any kind in the few weeks I’ve owned it.

If you’re the slightest weather geek, you will like this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPractical but expensive
I had never looked into weather stations prior and never even knew that they existed or their purpose so when I was offered this, I thought it would be interesting.

The technology is quite well made, it measures different parameters such as CO2 levels, the typical temperatures, humidity etc. As for the device, there are two sensors, one module for indoors which you can place pretty much anywhere, however with the outdoor one you have to be quite careful. The fact that the device is not actually weather proof is ridiculous given the price. You have to download the app to be able to view any of the stats as opposed to a monitor that is supplied which would be a suggestion for the future.

I think the bit of kit is good and the information that it provides is quite decent but it is definitely expensive. Would I have spent my own money on this? No

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersQuality engineered produc
From the moment of opening the box it is apparent that this is a quality, engineered product.

The setting up is very simple and easy to follow.

As a long time Netatmo fan, my only hesitation is that the units do occasionally disconnect from the WIFi router, in which case there is a hole in the data, which is a shame. The battery lasts for a few months, but I do wish there was a push notification that alerts you when the battery level falls to 20% or so.

This review is for the Netatmo weather station indoor and outdoor(wireless)

The product arrived well package and promptly as expected by amazon.

Prior to this product arriving I’ve not really looked in weather stations. I’m also a bit of tech geek so this was a great opportunity look at something fairly techie!. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this netatmo product.

Setting up the weather station is very simple by following the few steps. It also seems to work very well and appears to give accurate reading. The amount of information you get great! The Mobile app is also easy to use and simple.

I’ve not had any battery issues yet like others but then I’ve only had the item a few days so can’t comment on if that has been sorted or not.

You can also pick up a few accessories for this (rain gauge etc) which I may looking into a bit further.

    Good quality product, well made!

Go-to for connected weather stations for all
For quite a while I have been eyeing up one of these weather stations to add to my smart home set up, so when this edition from market leaders for these products appeared for review I was excited to check it out.

Set up first and the process here will be very familiar to anyone who has purchased any similar smart home products. Download the app, connect the main base via bluetooth then enter your wifi details to set up that connection. This was pretty straightforward, especially since the outdoor module connects automatically to the main base. Inside element connects to the mains power via USB while the outdoor one takes two AAA batteries, likely the cause of some of the battery issues others have complained about. A strap is also provided to secure the outdoor module, while the built quality and design of both looks pretty neat.

Once set up, each of the elements reports to the app on temperature, noise, pressure, CO2 levels and humidity. This is combined to provide feels like scores and also a localised forecast only on a daily basis, though the ability to look back with greater granularity also exists. Integrations with Alexa allow you to query the current temperature and forecasts. A few other nice features in the app allow you to see other weather stations with their details while if you have the wind and rain gauges as well they come into the same app.

Overall, this is actually a pretty neat piece of kit – easy enough to set up, decent build and with a good app. While the predictive power of the app may be limited I can see this being pretty useful, hence from me it comes recommended.
