Great dash cam which gives the security of front and rear recording simultaneously. I found it easy to install using the tool provided to hide the wiring. Also purchased the dedicated wiring loom with it to make the installation easier.
I’m not a professional and I knew nothing bout how to install the product.
It did support my 128 gb integral u3 micro sd card.
It came with all the cable and tools needed to install it.
It took me around 15min to install the product in my nissan quashqai and it can be done by one person.
The front and back camera are adjustable so adjusting the picture after installation is possible.
Very happy with the purchase.
Nothing much to dislike description could be clearer no suction cap including in this kit I personally didn’t find the menu very intuitive but overall very pleased

Using Prime’s Next-Day delivery, I received it on August 19th and it came all nicely security sealed, wrapped and presented in its box.
Nothing was missing and so, I put the camera on-charge for a couple of hours and changed the settings to my preferences.
I got out one of my top branded named 64Gb 3U SD Cards and inserted into the card slot. It came up with a warning that my card was not good enough. So, I formatted the SD Card and tried again. No, same warning came up. So, I tried another top branded 32Gb 3U cards and exactly the same warning came up, even after formatting the card.
So, it states that this DashCam will accept 3U SD Cards but it clearly does not.
There must be something in the firmware that it will ONLY accept NextBase’s SD Card and anything else, the firmware will say, “sorry, card not NextBase, Reject it”.
So, I have had to buy a NextBase 32Gb card, thus adding a further 20 to the already 100 paid for this camera.
A top branded 32Gb 3U card cost nowhere near the price of the NextBase’s. So, why such a higher price? And besides, a decent branded 3U card SHOULD be sufficient in this device and not reject all and to only accept NextBase’s.
So now, I have to wait a further 72+ hours (Monday) before I get a NextBase SD Card that I shouldn’t really need to purchase until I can use this DashCam.
As for the quality and user ability, I have no idea, as it’s just stuck in its box.
Nice DashCam, shame it’s reluctancy to only use NextBase Cards.
Update August 22nd:
Received the 32Gb NextBase SD Card and surprise, surprise, it works. Funny that!
However, the quality of the recordings are outstanding and very, very clear and if you use the “My NextBase Player”, you can freeze the video, zoom in and even take a snapshot. If your DashCam has a GPS, you can view; speed, direction and watch it on a map within the software. Finally, you can also check for latest firmware too.
Overall, an excellent DashCam and one I will definitely recommend and yes, even with the NextBase SD Card.

Easy to install, luckily I am yet to need to use the footage; but from what I could see during testing the picture quality looks good.

I watched Nextbase own installation video and another to familiarise myself with the procedure. Several things were not as per the video on my eGolf.
The cigarette lighter/12v fuse was permanently live, ok if you will use the sentry mode.
There was no screw or bolt available for the neutral wire to fix to so I had to drill and fit a self tapping screw. Much care needed.
There is loads of spare cable to be accommodated. I cable tied two groups as one would not fit in my available space.
The rear camera is tricky to fit. Panels require removal, take care with clips! Also the cable is quite thick, difficult to accommodate neatly in the same headliner gap as the front camera power cable.
On the whole I’m pleased with the result and the quality of the images. I used a 64GB SD card which at 1080p resolution should give 8 hours recording time.
So, if you can get one at a reduced price I recommend it. Full price, I’m not so sure.
I like the product. The only downside is that even with 128gb it can only record for 30 hours as maximum. Picture quality and sound is very good. rear camera has magnetic ball which gives you more flexibility to set it up in correct angle.

This camera is really easy to use, not only the front camera but you get a rear clip on one, will need to get a decent 64GB Micro SD Card, they are about 6.
Please charge your camera for two hours firstly or you will struggle when setting up.
It’s real easy to install, place passenger side near centre windscreen top by rear view mirror, then cable manage camera with the tool to push cable under trim (roof trim then door trim then along under glove box to power source) and then power up in cigarette lighter slot. A massive bonus is the USB slot in the charge head. Huge bonus that!
Once installed you can set up via onscreen menus, the defaults are fine, I just increase clip length to 2 minutes.
You can also turn off voice recording unless you want to hear your kids singing We Don’t Talk About Bruno.
Overall this dash cam is decent, the price is pretty spot on, but if you want WiFi connection via app, you will need to pay an extra 90 eeeeek.

I researched Dash cams a lot before buying and in the end went with this quality Nextbase Cam package and I am very glad i did. It is a quality item, fitting was an easy DIY job, and it worked perfectly. I also bought a Scandisk U3 card for it and that works fine too, no issues. However, Nextbase seem to have their own card which they push, but the Scan disk is a quality brand and good to see it works perfectly. The front camera is quite small and fits nicely in front of my ‘rearview’ mirror so I don’t even notice it. Same for the rear cam, after 5 minutes, I forgot it was there. Also great to be able to have the screensaver mode so even if you cannot completely hide it from your view, you won’t be distracted by a changing image.
Camera is easy to fit and use, however, on an occasion we needed to read a registration number it was very very difficult to identify each digit. The registration in question was fitted to a car that very nearly rear ended my car at traffic lights. It then sped by when lights turned green. Even though the registration plate was no more than 10ft away at the closest point it was blurred and difficult to identify.
Although 1080p hd, it needs better clarity and 4K would be an improvement.
Small and unobtrusive. Easy to use and setup. Downloading images simple, you don’t need the Nextbase software, images are recorded and stored as .mov so most devices will play them. No Wi-Fi so you have to manually remove the SD card or connect to the camera with the usb lead. Leads supplied for the rear camera and 12v socket are long enough to be hidden under the lining. There is a permanent power lead set which has to be ordered separately. Only had it a week so can’t comment on the reliability, but no issues with it so far.
Super easy to install, nice packaging and clear instructions, great to have a front and rear view camera in one without having to feed all the cables to the back of the car. Image quality is great for the front and good enough for the back – realistically, if you need footage after an accident they won’t care if its 144p or HD. Would be nice if these came with the micro SD card included as you need to buy a Nextbase one anyway.

I am really pleased with this camera, I am a new driver and it took me a while to find a right camera for my car. I could get this from Halfords but they charge almost equal amount to fix the camera. However, I was able to fix this myself both front and rear with no wires visible. Thanks for the clear instructions and the little tool that comes with the pack.

Picture quality is excellent and has ease of use. The only problem is that when rear camera is installed the wire may not be long enough, so is good for a small to medium car but not for a larger vehicle.
Good quality camera. Fairly easy to install. Hardest part was getting the cable from the back camera to the front but this will depend on the vehicle. Used a hard wire kit for the power which was also easy to install . Don’t forget to buy a memory card as it didn’t come with one.

I’ve had a front facing Nextbase camera for some years now, and some of the lunacy I’ve seen – and caught on camera – has been staggering. I’ve also become uncomfortably aware of a fairly sharp rise in the number of tailgating incidents, hence this purchase. It’s amazing to see the difference in these idiot drivers when they suddenly spot the sticker, then the camera – they usually become very shy & fall back rapidly. That’s happened a few times, & proves that they know they’re being muppets.
The obvious upside is that if there’s an accident involving a tailgater (or one of those ‘crash for cash’ incidents), you simply present the police/your insurance company with the footage. It really is a no-brainer! Picture quality is excellent too.
The NextBase after sales service is also amazing, so all in all, I seriously doubt you will ever regret buying this brand.

Great little camera. Easy to install. Shame it really only works well with the Nextbase SD cards that you have to buy separately. Other than that it seems a great little package. Coverage from camera is really good too and far better than my last dashcam. The price is also a lot more reasonable than the competition.
Bought it to use it during international travels. Cz of design , the rear camara just films the heads of passengers in the back and a small portion of rear window. kinda useless . After 1 month it said i have to reboot it and had to buy a diffrent memory card.
Overall I’m pleased with the dashcam. I had the cameras wired in by Nextbase’s approved third-party installer. The camera options are easy to set up and the picture quality is pretty sharp. The front picture quality can be enhanced by adding a polarising filter and that’s an extra I’d recommend as it really does help. The only issue I’ve experienced is with the rear camera that will, intermittently, record pink and indistinct video that wouldn’t be usable as evidence in the event of a Road Traffic Accident. I found Nextbase support to be fairly easy to contact and helpful. I’ve been advised to ask their installer to come back and check the wiring to the rear camera. This has been booked for the end of March so I’ll be in a better position then to understand what’s causing the issue.
Update. The rear camera issue (pink video) persists. The Amazon seller did a great job replacing the whole system for me. I’m currently waiting on Nextbase to tell me their process for getting the new rear camera hard-wired in.
Overall it’s a good product.
One small complaint is that sometimes the rear view camera sometimes is not detected so it has to be disconnected and reconnected to the front camera.
Another is the camera is too sensitive in parking mode and keeps turning on when nothing has touched the car.
The most disappointing aspect is that the rear camera will not record because my rear window is tinted. This is a big let down, as I paid extra for the second camera, and I especially wanted it after the rear of the car was crashed into by another vehicle.

After having Nextbase 212 for over 5 years it was time to buy new dashcam, because the old one was down. I bought some cheap one from amazon but quickly sent it back due to poor picture quality.
Once I got Nextbase I can see huge difference and that’s what I wanted. The picture quality is great, both days and nights. Easy to install. Works fine. 5 star dashcam.
Just set up the front and rear cameras and the rear camera did not connect to the front unit. I have tried everything and it still does not connect. I have contacted their support site and will update with the result. As you can imagine, it’s a disappointing start!
Fitting the wires under your roof lining etc is a real pain too. The wire from the rear camera was way too long and had to be folded repeatedly under my roof long to prevent a role of wire hanging from the unit.
UPDATE: I had connected the socket from the rear dashcam upside down. Its a USB C like socket and no indication, other than the picture on the instructions, which way round it should be inserted. All working now as it should.

Was sceptical going for this camera, but I know nextbase are the ‘go to’ choice for a dash cam. Purchased a U3 SD card for it (no need to buy nextbase’s own card) and fitted it with a hardwire kit easily. (Sold separately)
The video is easy to remove from the camera plugging it into a computer and the quality is impressive for the price.
The mount is good how it’s magnetic and it also comes with and extra sticky pad for the mount if you get a new car or replacement windscreen which is handy.

After treating my bro to a car camera about three years ago, I finally bought this model for my car.
The decision as to model chosen and Amazon delivery, was made when visiting my younger brother in mid-December.
Fitting was achieved by my brother who is far more dexterous and nimble-fingered than me, plus he had the ideal piece of kit to thread the cable through the car’s roofliner efficiently.
While fortunate not to be involved in any serious ‘traffic incidents’, but did see the benefit of this kit when returning north on the Sunday before Xmas …when the driving around Silverstone, then north on the M1 provided a worthwhile test – seeing some of the less-than-selfless, or less-than-intelligent driving.
Frankly there’s surely a sound case that cameras should be installed in new vehicles, in the same way as seatbelts and airbags. Then we might see insurance quotes reflecting real risk!
The kit, with both front and rear-facing cameras looks to be, ‘money well-spent’.
Decided to upgrade to this model after having a bad experience with the 122 dash cam – which refused to format any sd card I tried ( faulty unit probably).
This one accepted the sd straight away and works great. Next base recommend you use their official sd card but I used an Integral which works just the same.
The picture quality is ok and clear enough for what your paying for.
Set up is easy and you can transfer your footage to your computer without fuss.

I would definitely recommend this as peace of mind because if you are unfortunate enough to be involved in any type of incident, this will show what’s gone on in crystal clarity. I purchased the bundle of camera, hard wire kit and memory card and I am so so happy with it. The functions are easy to use, allowing you to playback any video it’s recorded with easy. The settings are also very simple to get to grips with in no time at all. This is a 100% recommended purchase and some insurance companies even offer a discount for having a Nextbase camera installed.

I bought this dashcam to replace my old Nextbase camera that had died suddenly after a brief illness. I wouldn’t be without a camera in my car these days, this one is smaller than my last and hardly noticeable on the windscreen. The setup is easy and straightforward, even for an oldie like me. The big selling point for me was the integrated rear view camera – no messing around with clips and wires, just stick it to the windscreen and plug it in.
Purchased to replace an old next base dash cam, very straightforward to install and up and running in less than half an hour. New adhesive mount very neat and hopefully will avoid the former problem of the suction cup falling off in direct sunshine. Slightly disappointed that the old next base hard wiring kit could not be used as the connector at the camera end is too large to plug into the new mount.
For the size does the job,it’s a pity it’s not got Bluetooth enabled for rear camera as when visor down, rear camera doesn’t work, but it it’s a good piece of equipment.

I have used a dash cam in my car since they were introduced, I think this is my third or fourth. I have always had Nextbase. For the price this cam is first class. My last cam (bought 2015) was a Nb Duo HD forward and rearward facing, but was twice the size of this 222x and was exactly twice the price. This cam is half the size so that the passenger vary rarely passes comment that it is there. It is fully adjustable so you can point it where ever. It records and plays back satisfactorily. I thoroughly recommend for the price, if you need more recommendation pop into your local motoring superstore ??? and see how much they want for a comparable unit from Nextbase.

This is a fantastic Dash Cam and it does exactly what is asked for. Nextbase in my personal opinion is a very good manufacturer of Dash Cams and various spares too. The only minor issue is the fact that you can’t view the footage on your iPad using the Nextbase App with this particular model, however I have managed to purchase a micro sd card to iPad adaptor but I haven’t tried it as of yet. Other than that the video and camera on it are excellent quality but you do have to remember to format the sd card every two weeks. A great dash cam at a very reasonable price and it gives you that extra piece of mind and security when driving.

Really easy to set up and once set up the picture quality is really good. Would recommend this device to anyone looking for a decent priced dash cam.
Bought this to replace an older dash cam, after reading reviews from WHICH . Nice compact size, very easy to operate via Menu button. I fitted a top quality Micro SD card in it which performs well, overall picture quality appears to be very good. Supplied with suction or adhesive fitting bracket. The Camera is easily attached to its mounting by magnetic grip, but a little awkward when removing. I also purchased a ‘ Hard Wire ‘ kit, so it operates when starting the car.
Only just installed it, so not tested for picture quality yet, but I’m not expecting any issues. I have an older Nextbase in another car, with the slide-in powered suction mount, which at the time was a great innovation. This latest magnetic stick-on mount is a huge step forward from that, much more compact, with a really strong magnet and spare adhesive pad provided. It’s functions are quite limited, but that’s all I need, and I thought it was great value. I bought a Sandisc Max Endurance SD card, specifically designed for dashcams, and saved some money over the pricey Nextbase SD cards they’d like you to use.
Serious value for money, great bit of kit, rear view quality not so great but front facing is very good, easy to fit and certainly in my car is discreet when looking from the outside in.
Take care with position on screen, placed mine a bit close to the dark area used by the rain and light sensors so obstructs camera a little suggest using the removable holder first before fixing permanently.

Great little gadget. Much better having the connected rear camera compared to the hardwired rear camera I previously had on the 512, which interfered with my dab radio. Recommend, so easy to install.
The Nexbase user software is a bit fiddly, and not so easy to use.
Like with any dash cam, the value will only become apparent if ever proof is needed to probably contradict someone else’s viewpoint, or confirm your own :-), in the sad event of someone’s loss. The quality is good for the price and with it being easy to fit and, most important to me, unobtrusive, it was no hassle and looks good. The timer on mine is a little fast and needs calibration each month (less than 2 minutes over 31 days), but all the images are captured in any case.
Four hours recording time which is great, should be more than enough in the event I need to save any footage. Beyond the four hours, it overwrites the earliest footage. You can save any footage to your computer before it overwrites it if you need.
No wireless saving features like other more expensive dashcams, but that doesn’t bother me, 99% of the time, I probably don’t need to save the footage, not the end of the world for the rare occasion if I have to manually save the footage on my computer.
his is perfect for everyone and anyone that is driving these days. It was easy to install but you would need to be comfortable with this type of work. I did make one mistake, I didn’t realise that for 330 and above you can purchase a rear camera but for the 220 you can’t.
The suction cup assembly is well thought out and works very well. It has an easy release magnetic fitting so you can remove the camera from the car without having to take the suction cup off the window.
The upshot of this review is simple. Disappointment I had to spend more money to make the dashcam work properly so that makes it a tad expensive at 65. There are better out there for that kind of money.
I am super happy with NBDVR222 Dashcam. I never leave home in the car without it in place. I love the new improved sleek design & the amazingly easy yet secure magnetic attachemnet is a brilliant idea. And it all fits nicely in the Nextbase dash cam case i also bought. The suction cup works perfectly as does the polorising filter and the 12v power lead is plenty long enough. I shall be buying another to go in our next new car, so all-in-all thank you for a “Brilliant” product.
I am super happy with NBDVR222 Dashcam. I never leave home in the car without it in place. I love the new improved sleek design & the amazingly easy yet secure magnetic attachemnet is a brilliant idea. And it all fits nicely in the Nextbase dash cam case i also bought. The suction cup works perfectly as does the polorising filter and the 12v power lead is plenty long enough. I shall be buying another to go in our next new car, so all-in-all thank you for a “Brilliant” product.
Set the sensitivity to high and the camera turns on even if gusty winds are wobbling the car, extra protection if you notice some inconsiderate person bumps your car and drives off.

The new webcam was so easy to instal both the saftware and physical camera. Now a case of installed and forget unless we have an incident. Very pleaded.

Only problem is that the magnetic coupling system is very strong and makes it tricky to remove from the mounting system. If you are going to remove the camera every time you use it then you may want to look elsewhere. Recommended
Pros
Very simple to use. Easy menu system and buttons for all the main functions. Just start the car and it automatically starts and then stops (default setting) when the car ignition is turned off.
Good quality video for day and night driving with good wide angle view.
Easy to fit. I am not very practical but I fitted the camera within five minutes.
Very stable and reliable mounting system with very little camera shake.
Has a parking mode allowing the camera to be left on when the car is unattended.
Has a quick save button, so that vital video is not lost during an incident.
USB lead supplied to connect to PC.
Good quality piece of kit for the price.
Cons
Difficult to detach from the mount so if you need to remove every time you use it then look elsewhere.
No GPS so position and speed not recorded.
A power lead is also provided but I recomment hard wiring this camera in your car the extra kit will cost around 13. I also recommend purchasing plastic pry bars for a few pounds although a small one is also included with the card which may be enough for you.
Fitting is very easy and as the camera is attached to the mount by a magnet the camera can actually be removed from the car without the need to disconnect any wires.
You will also need a memory card, ensure the card is marked with U3
