Bought for 9 yr old son instead of a toy version. For the money, excellent value! Can see clearly to end of street in dark. I/R shines red so you aren’t totally stealth but close to it. Zoom feature could be better but nothing to complain about.
Ignore the claimed magnification. You can see perfectly clear in pitch darkness. Easy to use.
So impressed!! I didnt think I could get this kind of value for this price. I use rechargeable NiZn AA for the high drain. That or Duracells. (They start at a slightly higher V than Energizer) Easy to use, great zoom, doesn’t leave you blinded to the dark after use like other cheaper sets. I love them. It’s also so nice to use both of your eyes vs a monocular. Comfortable strap, comfortable eye piece. The eye piece/forehead rest fits around my glasses comfortably.
I woud have liked a case to been included I use them for wildlife watching
Wow… this is an exception piece of NV equipment. I couldn’t believe how unbelievable the picture clarity is and how easy it is to use!
At 99 Night Fox have nailed this…. amazing.
Fantastic piece of kit, and great for studying night life
Very easy to use, good build quality. Could use more magnification, but good value for money.
Seriously the best we have used for the price. Night vision is a scary thing when out on your property and you see eyes moving but if your up for it definitely recommend it! Got this for my husband for one of his anniversary gifts and he was so ecstatic he’s currently at war with coyotes and raccoons on our place!
This is amazing!!! after several days of messing around with it i can say for certain that it may not be the best but for the price it was well worth it just be sure to get recharables because it does eat through 8 batteries like crazy
The product works amazingly well, great fun to use for wildlife and amazing for spotting protestors breaching my site at night. As night security this is an invaluable tool. Only downside is the battery life, does not last as long as advertised however still not bad.
As a pure night scope..fair as an IR night Scope Awesome The zoom is perfect and IR feature is perfect.
Using it for hunting. First night of use saw a Cayote 80 yards. With the IR looked as clear as daylight. Cayote never knew I was there. How far can I see… don’t know yet, but I think easy 100 plus yards. Would I recommend…Yes
Does the IR light bother animals .. doesn’t seem to.
Easy to use for little money .batteries can be a handful to put in the second one Is coveted by the top spring and trickery but good value for the money .
ive tried a few of these and this is the best in this price bracket. but do be warned its def not high tech military grade, but is pretty good for the price.
If you going this price range this is the one to ge
Used it for a bit, the seller is a cool dude.
Bad:
– The screen inside is a bit bright, if you have natural night vision you’ll want to close one eye while you use it as the light will make everything seem dark again
– It works as a flashlight, but with IR. The IR light shines (invisibly) and the screen lets you see how it reflects. Better for close-range sight (i.e. a mile or less).
Good:
– Super easy to use – literal plug and play, except with batteries instead of a plug
– Well made – The entire thing is made of hard plastic. Nothing shakes inside and it seems resistant to the outdoors
– Eye visor – The visor area has a rubber cover to stop any light from the display from bleeding out. It also provides enough room for those wearing glasses to see with ease
– Display – Everything is grayscale, reflective surfaces (slippery puddles, the eyes of animals, etc..) really stand out more than they otherwise would. The contrast is also high enough to ensure that everything is clear and crisp.
Overall, great product.
I own a classic green field monocular night vision scope which is tough getting use to. The binocular vision is much easier to look through and mush less disorienting. It’s a video like screen which requires the infrared attachment to function in full darkness but the light intensity feature means you dial up or down the amount of infrared you need. It also better bright light protections.
I was looking for a reasonably-price night vision unit I could break out when sitting on my deck at night and looking at what critters were wandering around. The typical devices are designed for use 100-300+ yards out which doesn’t work for me as my woods is literally surrounding me. This device was just the trick!
The positives are the quite intuitive controls and excellent image 100 yards and closer. The only reason it’s not 5/5 stars is the thing is pretty darn heavy and a bit large…all probably necessary due to 4 AA battery power source but something to consider when purchasing.
Good for short distance in no/low light with built in IR light. Actually worked much better than I expected for long distance when I used it in conjunction with my IR spot light.
The nightfox is easy to use and very effective in tracking my dogs when outdoors at night. There is a slight stiffnes with the focus wheel, but not a major problem. I do recommend it.
I was not expecting a whole lot, bought this for my grandson as a toy. Well, its a really good toy, light up to about 100 feet, nice clear picture. My only complaint is that it is not rechargeable, it uses batteries. Yes, you can use rechargeable batteries but you cant charge them in the unit….I know, for the price they’re amazing, this is a really minor issue.
Works well out to 150 yards and the IR illuminator is good. Using rechargeable batteries instead of alkaline. batteries.
I am absolutely in awe over how well these work. They also pick up the IR illumination from my ATN 850mW Illuminator. My only complaints are that there is no way to adjust screen brightness, the lens focus is a little clunky, and the focus wheel on the bottom is to small for quick adjustment.
This worked very well and only on the 1st setting. The other settings only improve a little. But at least it works and when I let our pups out at night, I can see them. Even the black haired pup and her little white paws. She can disappear, even at twilight.
Bought these for my fiuture son-in-law for Christmas. You would think he was a 5 yr old with a new dump truck. They go out “looking” at everything now about 5 nights week. It was a real hit as a gift. Works great can see very clear. They end up with a truck full of guys just riding and seeing stuff.
Good night vision for the money. My only issue is the distance isn’t the greatest….maybe 100yds at best.
Is a good value for your money. I use it at night to see what is out there before giving me away with a light. We have all kind of animals in the mountain, bears, cayotes, deer. It pleases me to see them, when I am not a threat to them. Not great, not bad, it does the job. Thanks. Oscar Rame
I wanted a night vision device to see if the coyotes out back were coming into my yard. I did not need it for combat or hunting! My tree lines are anywhere from 50 to 75 yards from my back deck. As advertised, I can see trees, rabbits, deer, and cats clearly at these ranges. I was amazed at how clear the image is at normal and 2X size. The IR intensity increases as described. The viewer allows me to wear my glasses: you hold the device at the distance from your face that allows for clear viewing. For backyard use, this Nightfox device works beautifully for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend it for uses such as mine.
I liked that the product was well packaged and protected, and delivered on time.
It does its job well, ( I bought it for my wife as we live on a farm, and she wanted to observe the wildlife we have, in low light conditions, and / or at night.) For that it does the job well, and is good for a wearer of glasses, which she does.
My only dislike is that it doesn’t come with any “cover”, i.e. a bag or case! This surprised me as all standard binoculars, and optical items usually have a case. For this product, nothing at all. Even a simple cloth or canvas bag would be a welcome protection addition to the product, and would make it 5 star instead of the 4 i have given it.
This night vision camera is easy enough to use, and for the money doesn’t have bad night vision. This is the first time I have bought any time of night vision camera, but the photos uploaded by others look better then what I have seen from my own unit even after adjusting the focus control. Wish they were better for the money, but I am happy with them for my use which is just to see what kind of animal(s) the dog is barking at on my 300ft x 300ft lot . Trying to use them to look in the fields next to me the image gets fuzzy quickly beyond 350ft and beyond 60 yards I can see the eyes of an animal but not what kind of animal is there. Fortunately the animal does get spooked by the IR light and goes away, if I was interested in killing the animal in the field I would not get the shot off.
It is verry good and im happy with the produc
Viewing the screen is a little uncomfortable but not much more than regular binoculars. It is really easy to use: just pop in eight AA batteries (not included), and turn it on. Sharp image, easy to adjust the brightness of the IR source. I was amazed to find something this good at this price. Just realize that you are lighting up the area in front of you with an infrared light source, so everything is pretty much evenly illuminated. On the screen, what you see is pretty much the same as if you had a bright flashlight. You are seeing the infrared light REFLECTED by the objects in view. It is not a thermal camera, which shows the infrared light EMITTED by objects (that’s what people generally think of when the term ‘night vision’ is used).
Bought for my Son xmas. Have tried briefly and impressed with this product.
Great value for money
Works great. Easy to handle and operate the controls. I wear glasses and there were no issues in looking and focussing to get a clear view. There was plenty of IR illumination to view a fair distance. The included strap is comfortable. The daytime lense cap can be a little difficult to take off. For the price I am quite pleased with these.
Great value. Works as expected. Animals appear fuzzy, but everything else crisp and amazing visibility. For the price, worth every penny. Needs a little more quality engineered into the battery compartment battery connectors. Not robust at all. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.
I haven’t had much chance to use it yet but it seems to work great played with it for a minute. Though it seems very well made and not cheap like one might think, giving it’s low price.
I was surprised how well these night binoculars worked and, yes, I think they do reach 100 metres. Amazing! Vision is B&W, of course, but I was also impressed that when you pan there is no evidence of jagged movements – it’s quite smooth just as you would expect with a video camera. The only disappointment is that the tripod bush is inset and none of my several tripod screws could reach the thread of the socket; this surely is poor design thinking.
The IR spotter is good for the money, its simple to use and the quality is good depending on what your quarry is.
I love it, the field of view is brilliant, the zoom function is well worth having and I would recommend it to anyone.
The only draw back is its a bit heavy due to the 8 batteries it requires but other than that im very happy with it…
This is a great opportunity to explore the world using night vision on a budget. The ease of operation is perfect for young or new users. As a former user of first generation Starlight Scopes in the ’60’s & ’70’s, the Nightforce is much more user friendly, with improved performance. I recommend the Nightforce 100V as an economical entry to night vision technology, and a great way to see what is stirring in your surroundings while dark.
These are an awesome piece of kit at a good price. Part of me was thinking that for 109 they can’t be great but other reviews seemed pretty positive. After moving into the countryside, we have heard all kinds of noises and I was interested to know what wildlife we have mooching about. During the day we have lots of birds, tits and finches mainly but we also have Woodpecker. So we open up the Night Vision, pop the batteries in and I give them to my partner for a go…’what a load of rubbish’ he says but then he remembers the focus wheel and hey presto we can now see in the dark. We are not disappointed. We have seen mice, rats, vowels, squirrels and my personal favourite lots of hedgehogs. These are great as you can observe the little darlings in their own habitat without really disturbing them. Brilliant. I would definitely recommend.
I bought this as a gift for a person who has deer in their garden. Very good piece, ticks all the boxes for the price range. One thing to remember is if you’re using it behind a window the light from the screen in the machine will reflect/illuminate against the window and interfere with your view. it requires a good amount of batteries as far as I can remember.
Great little gadget for seeing wildlife at night. Not perfect resolution but great enough for seeing what’s there. Very happy with the item and how quickly it was delivered.
Would like the zoom to be longer, but amazing for the price paid
Great piece of kit for the price, so easy to use…only thing that needs altering please laserware the night shutdown screen is to bright at night…Sorry it doesn’t affect the operating of the unit…but it needs to be dimmed.
Ok here is the deal. They actually work good for up to a couple hundred feet. but they do not focus to a sharp image. you cant certainly tell object clear enough to know what they are, but still, it never comes in to clear focus and s digital I guess that’s all you could expect. A better quality infrared light could have been used to hide the red hue little bit but its powerful enough to light up wht you need to see more than enough. it is large and heavy. it could be more compact. it starts at 2x when it should have been 1x then zoom to 2x. things seem closer than 1x at low setting. field of view is pretty narrow, but with some of it’s short comings it works as good as any NV I have used for 129.00 that’s for sure. In retrospect i think I should have purchased the monocular version and I still might, you dont need binos, as you would get same view width, they use a lens to make you see a tv screen, so a monocular would be smaller and better as you could keep one eye adjusted to light and when using the other to look through NV you dont completely loose your eyesight until they adjust. in total darkness its bright on your eyes. so I still think it has good applications, but some changes to buttons are needed as you can turn it on r iff by accident, so recessed buttons would be better, but all and all it’s a good unit and it does work pretty darn good for the price. it’s the best of the cheapo units I have ever tried. and I will be needing it in the remote place we now live just to check property. and maybe even watch deer and other animals.
I bought the Nightfox 100V to view wildlife in low light and totally dark conditions at they perform very well.
Easy to view badgers, foxes and bats. Excellent value for money.
Long battery life too.
Not expecting military quality for this kind of money but am impressed with what this little unit can do at such a low price point. The image quality is better than I was expecting and the illuminator works well enough to read road signs from several hundred feet away.
Good product for seeing in the dark. I camp a lot and take these along. Before heading for the sleeping bag, I take these with me on a night walk. I have seen deer browsing at about 150 yards, owls, raccoons and a lot of deer mice eyes. Really like being able to see with both eyes.
This works really well, impressive range.
Interestingly it picks up other Infra Red light sources such as my wildlife cam and nearby security camera..
The zoom is 2x but that is fine for my purposes.
Quite heavy when batteries in but not excessively.
NB doesn’t work very well through glass as the IR light is reflected back into the lens
I’m very please with my Nightfox 100V the unit is very simple to use and the picture quality and capability are amazing for the price. I’m not using this unit to hunt but simply use around my home in a rural area along with my Pulsar helion thermal monocular. I’m sure this unit would suffice most people. I primarily use my thermal to detection and now I can use my Nightfox to help with identification. My only opinion for improvement would be to change the power supply from 8 AA’s to another common size to lessen the number of batteries required. Maybe 18650’s or something along those lines. Also adding a memory slot for recording capability.
can see up to 100meters clearly. couldnt test it in pitch black conditions yet, but i am very happy with its perfomance. 8 XAA. You better use rechargeable ones. Nice packaging and easy to use. Can be used for day time aswell.
I like it’s usefulness out in the field as I have a farm and I like to monitor it at night to see who or what is lurking. Has good picture and value for money
I thought this might no be great considering the cheap price. But the night vision is amazing. Did not even have to crank it up all the way. Very pleased.
Nothing to dislike, I use it for watching hedgehogs in the garden.. which is perfect for me.. more professional person might want more magnification.
Working really well batteries seem to be performing well
Will be trying unit out in woods later looking for bunnies
I found this device to be an excellent night vision companion. The view is clear in low light, or dark. An outstanding product. I highly recommend the Nightfox 100v widescreen for quality, ease of use, and rapid shipping. My only drawback was the short 8AA battery life life. This has since been upgraded to a rechargeable night vision unit. A world of difference from the Vietnam starlight scope. Well worth the price. Better than some of the much more expensive devices. My choice by far.
This is an amazing compared to other brands that are 3-4x the cost. If you wear glasses this is an exceptionally awesome choice and there is zero distortion, and Crystal clear images with no delay or lag. The seller reached out to me after a commenting that I was disappointed there were no batteries and made the effort to satisfy me in any way possible, but after buying my own and putting them in for the first time, I was blown away and apologized to him for underestimating how awesome this thing is. Long story short: don’t even think about it just hit the buy button. You will NOT be disappointed. Even if used as a toy, these are professional quality and the cost is almost too low for what they do. Seller is 10+ stars in my book for the customer feedback alone.
Do not expect a drastic night vision unit with wow factor. But it is pretty good for cost, does as expected for price and no real complaints. Batteries last a good long time, and unit is light and comfortable.
Excellent product delighted with prompt delivery vey happy with whole shopping experience
Bought for a fun birthday present. Appears to be working well.
I have a keen interest in bats, and visit Chester Zoo regularly as I live close by. The fruit bat forest there is in very low light so it is hard to seen much detail of bat behaviour. I have found the Nightfox brilliant to use and see what is happening in greater detail. I can use it with my glasses and even the staff there have been impressed. Really good value for money and it deserves the reviews it got on Amazon.
Works well for the price. Have used ‘NVG’s while in ARMY these do show objects in the dark.
After trying out this product belonging to a friend, I bought one. It’s amazing, the quality is far superior than more expensive ones I’ve had in the past. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a night vision binocular.
These are great, value for the money and due exactly what they say they do. These work in light and pitch dark, the IR settings are impressive. It took me a min to get used to the IR settings zoom, focus at different distances but this is straight forward and was natural. In the pitch black woods scanning the higher IR bleach out the image as you scan past closed trees and objects. If you have street lights and bright moon the. Turn the IR down for the situation and increase as needed when you zoom. The focus is short throw and located in a great position. Housing is not too heavy built feels quality. I have a lot of experience with military grade night vision, while this is digital and a bit different it is surprisingly clear and useful. My only complaint about digital is the backlit screen puts off light and kills natural night vision so the eyes have trouble adjusting back and forth. These are a great buy and work amazing for the money.
Fantastic value for money! I was amazed at how crystal clear the night vision was, the only negative I can think of is that there is a very small light at the front of the binocholars but despite this I would recommend these binicholars.
Pretty good for the price not high quality but still durable and functional for spotting around dusk/nigh
Very impressed with these night vision goggles. Had small issue with focus wheel, emailed company and we were advised how to remedy and it was resolved within the hour. Excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend.
These are fabulous and a fun novelty item. Sadly- we sent ours back as it eats the batteries (8 aa at a time) and didn’t focas very far. Would be great if It was rechargeable and a bit clearer . We used it for looking in our woods behind our house which was fun for the kids .
I have multiple night vision devices even a thermal scope, if you want to be able to.see what’s going on in the dark up to about 200 yards buy these ! The IR is bright and comes out clear even in pitch black I’m very impressed !
The NV works well , above expectations.
Is a lot of NV, for little money.
Cool unit. Takes a little getting used to the controls but works well once you get the hang of it.
I’m an average guy with some extra disposable income that loves the idea of some night vision but would never lay out thousands. Bought these and am happy and meets expectation. Here’s the brass tax, it all comes down to artificial light and light pollution. I live in Chicago suburbs but hunt in very rural south Texas. In suburban Chicago I can see out to 100 yards easy, as artificial light enters the scene like coach lights or street lights, it’s screwed. Especially artificial light. In the forest preserve 15 miles north of Chicago good clarity to 200. But any external artificial light and it’s blown out. Worked great hunting though. In the country I could make out a deer at 300 yards. At 200 I could gender deer buck vs doe and at 100 I could somewhat score a buck. Overall happy, especially for the price.
Brilliant device for the price it’s a Christmas presents…had a look last night in the garden works well very happy with it thanks .
Worked as advertised, good product. Picture can be better, but worked for fun and to see animals at night.
Very good for what it is. The IR camera is extremely good. I live in a rural area with woodland at the bottom of my garden and at night it is completely dark. The camera allows me to see clearly into the woods and the focus gives a decent clarity of image close up and at distance. The down sides, the box says X3 zoom but it only seems to go to X2. There is no way of turning down the brightness of the screen so at night it can dazzle and it takes a while for your natural night time eyesight to come back. It’s also not actually a binocular, it’s just a 3 inch screen so it’s more of a handheld camera. I bought this just to see if these types of cameras worked and I am very impressed with it as a night camera. Next time I would probably spend a bit more and get one that can record video and pictures. Overall, I’m very happy with it.
After a wobbly start, and help from the seller my husband looked out of the windows, with his birthday present and wow there was foxes, and a very happy husband, this product is very reasonably priced, and the quality much better then expected
Only received yesterday but last evening it was great, you could see clearly in the darkness, zoom worked well and distance was better than advertised. Don’t know how batteries will stand up as not used for long enough
Great value! Really easy to spot animals in the dark because their eyes reflect back at you. Big comfortable viewing screen. It doesn’t have a recording function but the unit is dead easy to use because of this (one button for on/off, one button for power level and one for digital zoom). All in all a super purchase.
Great for the price! Up to 10 yards or so, you can distinguish small objects. Some clarity is lost as the distance increases, but up to 100 yards you can still identify a dog and I’d say you can see up to 200 yards at night on the highest infrared setting.
Comunque CONSIGLIATISSIMO !
Spedizione sempre precisa.
Am absolute bargain worth every penny does what it says on the tin and for the an absolute amazing bit of kit would recommend it to everyone for night work
Being able to see in the dark..lot of fun.
i can see at least 200 yards clear as day in the black of night great for the price batteries last long enough good produc
excellent product for the price would recommend. Standard batteries drain very very quickly so imperative that you purchase rechargeable batteries.
Fantastic bit of kit, does exactly what it says it does
Impressive. Very good value indeed I made the right decision when I pressed the ” buy now ” button. Can’t wait to get out in the hooley for a night or two. This will improve my rabbit shooting results and while night fishing I’ll be able to keep an eye on the water and my neighbors antics. More than happy with the purchase at the moment. Will update this review should any issues occur. Thanks for reading this short review. Have been using this night vision device weekly now. My advice would be to purchase several packets of batteries from the Pound Shop as it chews up rechargeable batteries fast. None rechargeable last a reasonable time in comparison. Another bonus is if you’re suffering from noisy wildfowl through out the night the infrared beam appears to keep them quite when pointed towards them. Update: after splashing out around 15 on some pukka top quality rechargeable batteries of the type suitable for use in trail cameras I’m finding the battery useable life much improved.
Great product does the job description ideal for night work
Was pleasantly surprised how good these were it’s pitch black on the back of ours where I park my van. And I could see it perfectly.
I fully expected this to be a waste of money – I was wrong. This device, while obviously made of rather cheap-feeling materials, is extremely effective in the dark. Even in pitch darkness. I am amazed by the performance of it, and while I don’t really have a practical use for it, i am pleased that I bought one.
The number of batteries required (8) is pretty steep, so I advise using good quality rechargeable AA batteries; I use Panasonic Eneloop batteries and they are more than sufficient. With intermittent use, I got 3-5 hours from them.
Range is great, and although the zoom is digital, the sensor is of sufficient resolution to make no real difference in the output quality.
Simple equipment, but very good. Just don’t expect military-grade gear.
I was very surprised by this piece of kit, crisp clear bright images in total darkness, on the lowest it output setting, highly recommended.
Fantastic bit of kit!! Sure, it uses up batteries but that’s only to be expected – best to get some rechargeables. Great value for money.
Just got back from South Africa the night fox was excellent in all conditions for the price this is a fantastic piece of kit would highly recommend.
Brill used it on holiday. does just what it said it would. great thing to have.
Great for the price, I’m sure I’m not the only grown man to pretend to be Luke Sky Walker scanning for Imperial Troop Carriers given the shape of these! Can’t quite see why you’d want to use them in day mode I must say. But the night mode is great. Excellent for scanning for game. For under 100 these are a bargain, and do the same job as far more expensive units.
Only used once (at the moment) so this review is off my first experience and overall I was impressed.
Was concerned the batteries would drain quickly. Device was on for at least 1.5 hours at IR level 3 and plenty of life left in the batteries.
For 120ish the image quality was good. It degrades when digital zoom is applied but that’s to be expected.
I was impressed with the IR function and didn’t really need to go beyond level 3 of which there are 7 levels.
I purchased this over other devices as I was attracted to the eye piece but on reflection this reflects back on my face and startles game. I plan on fitting a red filter so not such an issue.
A couple of things that I would improve.
The camera lens when removed dangles from a string and makes subtle noises when hitting the casing of the device. This also startled the game. I would have something moulded on the case to stow the lens cap away.
The zoom and IR buttons were sometimes difficult to locate. I would often find myself looking for the buttons. This might just require some familiarity and further use of the device.
The case feels very plastic (which I’m sure sounds obvious). I was concerned that I might break it and would like a neoprene case for it.
On my first trip out I saw plenty of wildlife. Badgers, deer, hare, rabbits and had lots of eye shine that was hidden by foliage so I couldn’t determine what was there.
With any night vision it’s difficult to judge distances and this is no different. I was seeing clearly out to 100m and could focus using the thumb wheel underneath.
For the price I’m pleased but would like to see some alterations (but appreciate that I was using them under specific conditions).
Thank you the order that was purchased came within the time stated and it seems working perfectly.
Very quick service. Does what it’s supposed to and very easy to use. Only real downside is the size and the weight once all of the batteries are in. I would recommend.
This digital binocular allows us to see scenes by day or by night.
As a daytime binocular it is not very useful but for night vision (or in the dark) it is excellent because it allows us to see well at distances of over 200 meters and has 7 levels of brightness that we can adjust.
At night (or in the dark), up to 10 meters, we can see well and distinguish small objects. As distance increases the definition is lost, but up to 100 meters we can see a dog or even a cat.
Given the price seems like a pretty interesting and good night vision binoculars.
