I just love the Ninja air fryer I’ve hardly used my oven since I bought this item. No waiting for the oven to heat up. I just pop food in the fryer, maybe chips in one side and sausages, fish or whatever in the other side. Easy to set up, even if it’s different cooking times. The fryer will hold the shorter cooking time so both are ready at the same time I was worried when I ordered it as I thought it might be complicated but couldn’t be simpler. Thoroughly recommend great buy

I had a tower air fryer which I used a lot, but with my husband, 2 kids and myself, I’ve been meaning to get a larger unit for some time. I finally took the plunge and splurged on the Ninja Foodi dual air fryer, giving me the room to cook more and two seperate items at once. Tonight I did fries in one side and BBQ chicken griddles in the other for my two children which took 15 minutes! The functions are easy to use and are self explanatory, but a helpful manual and booklet gives you illustrated instructions how to use and care for the unit, the best settings and temps to use for various items and a few recipe suggestions at the back. I synced my items so my fries could cook for 20 minutes and the griddles at 15 minutes would start 5 minutes after the fries started cooking to ensure cooking completed at the same time. This is a great function, however I found my fries cooked quicker than expected so I reduced the temp and cooking time. Unfortunately the fries did not hold on this occasion and wait for the griddles to catch up, the sync function only works at the start of the cooking set up and as far as I can see, although the food can be adjusted temp and time wise at any time, it will not resync during the cooking period. I may discover a way to do this with more use, as I only got the unit today and it will take some practice on seeing how long foods take to cook. However the two items cooked to perfection and the unit did what it claimed to do. The crisper and drawers clean easily, I’m very pleased so far!

Would have given 5 stars but for the fact that the compartments don’t seem to work at the same temperature, even if the same temperature and mode is selected one compartment browns the food more than the other. Not a problem generally as I mostly cook two different foods at the same time but it would be an issue if the same type of food needed to be cooked in both compartments. It cooks a lot quicker even than a fan oven.

Great air fryer, used it frequently the last 2 weeks and found the dual fry options so useful, easy to clean, doesn’t consume a lot of electricity and the food comes out crispy when needed, the frying units are very spacious too.

Sits nice on my kitchen top with enough space for the air to filter away.

    Wife is happy too.

A must have in the kitche

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have been an air-fryer fan since acquiring my first one twelve months ago, and am enthusiastic about the whole process. The one major fault of the previous air-fryer was simply that one could only cook one item/course at a time, which inevitably meant keeping the one item hot in the conventional oven whilst the second course cooked. Not always an effective solution.

    Step up the Ninja.

Its major benefit is the two “fryers”. Two courses can effectively be cooked at the same time; the fryer can even be programmed so the two finish at the same moment. Admittedly I have not made great use of this feature as it is easy enough to work out beforehand how long each course will take and commence them cooking accordingly — each drawer can be used completely independently.

And what a range of cooking methods it can cope with; I routinely air-fry, bake and roast, but there are several other methods available. About the only thing one cannot do is anything involving liquids to any degree.

Chips are absolutely wonderful cooked in an air-fryer — crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and as an additional bonus the Ninja has a “max crisp” function, whereby one can maximise the crispness, though one is advised to keep an eye on this during cooking, as it’s easy to go one step beyond crispness!

A very acceptable steak can be cooked in the fryer, and pies and similar are done to perfection. One can even roast a whole (small) chicken. Fresh fish are absolutely wonderful cooked in the fryer, soft and flaky white flesh nicely grilled and browned on the surface.

As each function is selected, the fryer so adjusts the required temperature and cooking time, although these can be (and often are) manually overridden as they may not be quite right for one’s taste. Indeed one can disregard the default settings for each function and manually select the temperature and cooking time to one’s own preference.

The fryer drawers can be opened during cooking which pauses the timer, whilst one turns or “tosses” the food product (essential in some cases and especially with chips), and can be stopped prematurely should the food be cooked earlier than anticipated.

The machine is admirably designed and constructed. I was personally a tad concerned about all the flashy chrome; a flashy exterior can often conceal a less than adequate interior. Not with the Ninja, the machine is robust and strong, the drawers themselves, and especially the “crisper plates” — the raised trays the food sits on, are very robust, something my previous air-fryers’ weren’t.

The only thing I cannot attest to is durability, as I have only had the machine a little less than two months. However it is used every day, and continues to perform splendidly.

My conventional oven is these days used for little other than a plate warmer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf you are wondering if you need an air fryer, TRUST me you do, I’ve cooked whole chicken, steak, sausages, bacon, toast, chips, fish, potatoes, mushrooms, turkey, beef, gammon and so many other things in this air fryer it’s so worth it and with a family of 6 the size is perfect, even when my oven/hobs broke down, I just cooked all our meals in the air fryer.

Get one, I can’t recommend one enough, it’s also easy to use and can be set like a normal oven too.

I bought the dual airfryer as my Philips one was old. I’m so glad I did. Having dual sections allows you to cook multiple things at once. If you have meat eaters and vegetarians in your household it is so convenient in making food at the same time rather than one. The max crisp function is great for oven food. I’m yet to try the others. It’s really easy to clean. I personally used to spray fry light on my Philips airfryer but on this one I don’t need to. The non stick is so great you can make you food and wipe the grease off with just a tissue when you’re done. I also put parchment or baking paper under the tray to catch any grease then Chuck it out. Over all this is a great buy as a first time air fryer or if you need an upgrade

Still experimenting with the Ninja but so far we’ve done wings, steaks, sausages, and even bacon and eggs. All have been excellent. Baked potatoes and home made wedges are great as are frozen french fries/chips. It’s very easy to use and clean. We’re very very happy with it..

A really good air fryer. We are using our main ovens much less since we bought the Ninja. Everything we have cooked so far is perfect. We are writing everything down for timings. Hopefully, there will be an English edition recipe book soon without cup measurements.

This is an upgrade on the one basket Ninja. We loved the Ninja so much we wanted the 2 basket. Not normally one for kitchen gadgets but this is the best bit of kitchen kit ever. Good for roasting meat, any meat, cooks steak, sausages, chops. Reheats. Crisps. Hardly use our oven now. Ninja is quicker and uses no fat, fat wicks away from cooked food. So, so easy to use.
Don’t put baskets in dishwasher and only use silicone utensils as after 10 months our first one started to get chips in the non stick inside coating.
    Love it!!!

This dual cooker is amazing. Air fries and reheats in a fraction of the time and the max crisp is brilliant. The ability to cook two different ways at two different temperatures and different times yet sync to finish at the same time is brilliant. Got the 9l capacity and it’s large but worth it.

My Daughter purchased one which we took with used whilst on Holiday self-catering.
Didn’t think that much of it to look at at first if you used an air fryer before ones same as another I thought.
This Machine I can only describe as brilliant cooked chicken and chips for 4 really easy.
Fish and chips another day and various other meals I was on to Amazon whilst away to purchase one for delivery when I got home.
I can’t put to words in this review how great this cooker really is your Able to cook different items in each drawer different temperatures different times and different styles of cooking really is a top piece of kit.
Would highly recommend this cooker/fryer really does help meal times to be easy cooking and easy to clean after can pop in dishwasher if you have one I dont but it’s 2 minutes of a job to clean even when you have used both drawers.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe dual cooking is making meal time so much easier I no longer hate cooking for one. Though still not had courage to make a boiled egg yet (though is it boiled if you don’t use water). It took me a while to justify the purchase but wish I had got it sooner.

Just awesome. Cooking so much more fresh food – gougons, whole chicken(split and put in 2 drawers), homemade burgers and chips. Honestly best purchase ever. Well done ninja. Read all the reviews and watched YouTube videos and was a bit sceptical about it but honestly it is unbelievable. P.s cheese toasties.

Golden Review Award: 122 From Our UsersI’m a 77 year old male living alone and hardly a cook. I bought the Ninja dual more in hope than expectation, and it’s exceeded my expectations. It’s early days yet but I am loving it and have used it for nearly every main meal I have eaten since I purchased it. A tiny bit of trial and error was involved in adjusting times and temperatures. However if I can use it and cook a decent meal anybody can.

Probably the best kitchen gadget I ow

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo impressed with this air fryer. The double basket is such a good idea meaning you can cook either double amount of food or cook two different foods. For example chicken nuggets and chips – grandchildren’s favourite, can be on the plate in less than 15 minutes and all without turning on my big oven and having cooking trays to wash. The drawers hold quite a bit of food and I particularly like that you can two different cooking methods requiring two different cooking times and still have them ready at the same time. Ingenious! Highly recommended, pricey but so worth it!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThe product arrived scratched from Amazon, a month later, and with 8 phone calls (one of them being a manager called Carol hanged up on me) nothing has been resolved.

The item has been out of stock, I was told I had to check if it comes back in to get an exchange which is very strange to me, to be left to check every day for an Amazon item.

It was very confusing & stressful as I was inundated with e-mails from Amazon giving me labels for a refund just after I spoke to them saying I don’t want a refund (computer says nooooo) situation.

It seems everything goes well with Amazon if you don’t want an EXCHANGE EVER!!!!!

The Air Fryer works as it should and is a brilliant addition to the kitchen, but it is still unsightly to see those starches it came with.

It seems Amazon customer service has been reading off a screen and has been no help whatsoever.

I hope these issues get resolved as it’s a very good gadget and it works good for me & the family.

COME ON AMAZON PULL YOUR FINGER OUT AND DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this after a friend raved about her air fryer. Following lots of research on various brands, I went for the Ninja Dual Foodi and not to be dramatic but it is life changing!

We hardly use the oven anymore as it’s just the two of us and it’s less efficient to heat the entire oven for a handful of chips. I love the sync feature so we can cook food with different cooking times to finish at the same time. We’re cooking more as it’s so convenient and quick.

    Absolutely recommend!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was scepticle at first about this as I haven’t tried a air frier before.

But, since I have got this it took a couple of days to adjust and learn the cooking times, now I haven’t had to use my oven once for ages.

Food cooks better, faster and just seems tastier.

The two trays are big enough to fit food for a family of 4 or 5 easily. Give it a shake 1 or 2 times during cooking and they come out nice and even.

Build quality is fantastic, nice clean modern design and it is so easy to clean.

I can see this being the best thing I’ve bought for the kitchen since forever!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis air fryer is really big and bulky but it certainly does work exceptionally well.
Being a dual fryer with a sinc facility is what makes this worth buying.
Frozen oven chips don’t require oil and cook nice and crispy so long as you shake them frequently.
Battered fish air fry’s in the second fryer at the same time you just have to set the required temperature and time for each basket then press the sinc button and wait for them to finish cooking at the same time.
Another big plus is the lack of cooking smells and how easy it is to clean the baskets.
Would definitely recommend this this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased this on prime day at a great price and loving it so far. Oven chips come out perfect and in less time and no more burnt edges or unevenly cooked food. The dual tray is perfect as you can place different items in each and sync times so both finish at the same time. You can also open them whilst cooking to check on the food or give a little mix which is great. Fish fingers cook in less than 15 minutes and come out both crispy and moist. We have also cooked fresh fish by placing it on foil and turning up the edges so that the juices don’t drip out and dry out the fish.

The machine is easy to use, haven’t had to look at the instructions yet and easy to clean.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWe’ve used our conventional oven precisely 3 times in the month since we got this amazing bit of kit. Cooked all sorts in it, including a 1.6KG whole fresh chicken which took just 60 mins and was the best whole chicken we have ever tasted (we cooked enough roast potatoes in the other side to fill 3 hungry adults, all cooked in less than 20 mins and synced to finish same time as the chicken).

Dauphinoise potatoes in an air fryer?? Absolutely, and cooked to perfection too! Bacon for the weekend fry up done in absolutely no time, Sausages no problem at all and cook so quickly without burning. The possibilities are endless with this game-changer of a kitchen appliance! Our best buy kitchen appliance by a country mile.

And, at the current rate of leccy savings this will pay for itself in less than 12 months! What’s not to like?

My oven door hasn’t been opened since. The dual draw is excellent and allows different ingredients to be cooked for different times and temperature with ease. Using the ‘Sync’ option allows the two drawers to finish cooking at the same time. It cooks quickly, without having to use oil and is easy to clean I would highly recommend this fryer to anyone.

Absolutely wonderful appliance. It’s used for cooking virtually most foods in our house! It crisps roast potatoes and roast veg just as if done in a normal oven but without the fat , we’ve cooked chicken, salmon, chips of course, my husband even done his bacon and sausages for breakfast and a hash brown! They all come out nice and brown as if fried or grilled. Amazing and so much more healthy. The other day he had calamari cooked in it! Can’t praise this enough. Best thing we’ve bought in a long while. If there was any slight criticism it would be the smell when first used but this is fading fast now.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWell what can I say, this dual air fryer is an absolute game changer.
It’s easy to use and do a multitude of things apart from air fry. I love the fact how you can set both at different times and temperature and they finish at the same time. It’s easy to navigate the menu even without the manual. As with all ninja products you know you are getting a quality kitchen product that out preforms it’s competition. This is not the only ninja product I own an it will surly not be the last I buy. Next on my want list is the pressure cooker to go with this and my maxi grill. I mean these 2 along have made my cooker obsolete and hardly ever used.
When it comes to cleaning it’s a simple process of taking out the 2 draws an giving them a empty an clean with hot water an a microfibre cloth..
I can not recommend this amazing product enough and if your thinking of getting one don’t think just do it you won’t regret it at all

    Such a game change

Golden Review Award: 393 From Our UsersThe ninja dual zone Air fryer has a huge 7.6 L total capacity. There is two individual baskets which are 3.8 L each. It has six programs, which are Air fry, roast, bake, dehydrate, Max crisp and reheat. If you are only going to use one of the baskets then zone one is the default zone to cook with, but what I particularly like about this is that for instance you can air fry at 200 in zone one for 30 minutes and you can roast in zone two at 180 for 20 minutes at the same time by pressing sync and then start. This will start zone one and when it reaches the 20 minute timer zone two will come off of hold and start roasting. If you remove the basket such as for chips to give them a shake, then the timer will pause until The basket is re-inserted and if both zones are cooking it will pause both timers. The other option that I really like which is nice and easy and can maximise your output if you’re cooking the same thing, For example if you had to Air fryer 1.5 kg of chips. Then place your chips in both baskets and on the zone one display enter in your temperature timer and press match then start. This will duplicate all of the information to zone two, Which makes it easy and super efficient. The max crisp is set at 240 and this is the only function that The temperature can’t be changed, and it could be set to a maximum time of 30 minutes. The air fryer function can be set between 150 and 210 and has a time range between 1 minute to 1 hour. The roast function allows you to use the ninja as a conventional oven which has a temperature range of 120 to 210 and has a timer that can be set from one minute to four hours. The reheat function has a temperature setting of 130 to 210 and can be set from 1Minute to One hour. The dehydrate function allows you to gently remove moisture from meat, vegetables and fruits. This temperature can be set between 40 to 90 and has a set time of up to 12 hours allowing you to create healthy snacks. The bake function means that you don’t have to wait the usual 10 to 15 minutes that your conventional oven would take to pre-heat Which is perfect if you just want to knock up a quick dessert. The temperature setting is 120 to 210 and has a time range between 1 minute to 4 hours. This ninja air fryer is super easy to clean, compare to my previous Tower Air fryer baskets. Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase as it has so many functions, Not just an air fryer. I hope you have found my review helpful.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI usually eat fish and chips one day a week cooked in the oven Using the ninja is a lot better. I was surprised how much better the fish and chips turned out. When I have a fried breakfast on a weekend it’s much easier to use the ninja, hash browns in one drawer and sausage and bacon in the other. Cooked at different temperatures and time but synchronised to be ready at the same time and tasting better than fried. As I get more used to it I will get more daring with what I cook in it. I took a photo copy of the instructions and encapsulated it and keep it by the ninja for reference.

    Surprisingly good.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI had a tefal Actifry original which was great for oven chips and then saw a friend with a Ninja. I needed a bit more versatility and space than the actifry could give and took this plunge. Brilliant bit of kit. I’m into West Indian cooking and this Ninja does my chicken just right. You can’t use it for “everything” but I’ve almost tried. Brilliant for fish, prawns, chicken and Steaks (medium, medium rare ribeye!)
Does take practice. You’ll burn a few things if you don’t pay attention to turning your food but the “Sync” feature is Brilliant. Roasted vegetables one side and Trout the other! Oven has been relegated to Garlic Bread prep..!

Have got to stop "Ninjaring" all my food but can't!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this – very straightforward to use with the easy-to-read instructions and even some ideas of recipes to use. Easy to clean afterwards as well.
I have owned this a few weeks now and only used my oven once in that time to cook something that cannot be done in the Ninja (a pizza), and I have also noticed that it does not cost much to run at all based on readings from my electric smart meter.
If I HAD to say something negative, it would be that this is quite large, however I have made space in a spare cupboard to keep it when not in use (but it’s not too heavy to move around). If you have limited space on your worktop this might be something to consider.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOnly used it three times so… longevity is currently unknown.
Cooked burgers, fajitas, and breaded chicken. Pretty much cremated the breaded chicken because I underestimated how quickly it cooks. My oven doesn’t heat up properly in my rented home, so therefore I’m used to food taking ages to cook.
Kids said the burgers were juicy and tasted better than I normally make.
Can’t wait to try the other settings on this.
(Bought on prime day so massive discount, but definitely recommend).

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersI wished I have got this earlier. Imagine one teaspoon of oil for a traditional Malaysian fried chicken in which we normally soak in a bath of oil! . It was so crispy and the sweet potato chips were also crispy slightly burnt because I forgot to check on it. If you can’t avoid fried food but wants to get the healthier version of it, get this product! You be can cook two things at different temperature at the same time or match to use both sides at the same time. And oh, it’s dish washer safe as well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBeen thinking of getting one of these for a while.
    One of those best purchases.
Initially thought it would save electric instead of using oven.
Then save time after working all day and not having to wait for oven to heat up.
Does all the above and more.
Very Very fast, lots of cook programs and also after two uses a doddle to use.
Wipe clean trays and also looks the part.
Can keep checking food while cooking and extend cooking and temp at push of button.
Two trays means you may have 10 min cook in tray 2 and something in tray 1 needing 20 min cook
this clever thing ensures they are ready at the same time.
Simple to use, easy to clean, saves time, saves power. BUY ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can set each basket individually which is great if they have different cooking times, higher temp etc. You can even bake cakes in it! Comes with recipe book. It does just what you would expect if you read the info.

The drawers look restrictive but a medium size chicken fits in fairly well. So easy to check what’s going on.

The crisping function works really well. It seems to both crisp and wring that last bit of fat out of the meat. Usually chicken or turkey in my case.

Syncing your cooking is a handy function too. Although in practice its always a good idea to rest your meat before it is served. Spuds really don’t need to sit around…

So quick and easy to use. Love the options of matching and syncing. The food tastes so much better (and my boys agree) Absolutely brilliant for heating up leftovers like Sundays roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings as though freshly cooked in just 6 minutes. Up to half the cooking time. English breakfast? Sausage, bacon, black pudding, hash browns. A doddle. Pastries? Lush. Chios, breaded fish/chicken. Easy Peasy.

Cooks so quickly and you don’t need towait for the oven to heat… I buy small size pizzas and oven meals that will fit (sometimes need to turn up the edges of the tin foil trays and bought two sets of tongs to lift them out… Roast dinners now are so easy with this and a steamer (two of us but could cook for 4 easy enough).. well worth it the two compartments are really handy. And yes it’s healthier!

Want to make the household cook redundant? Then bring in the Ninja. She, he, or it, can serve it all up speedily and cleanly– and without any fuss or bother (or argument) almost as quick as it takes to get a traditional oven warming up.
Now, if you REALLY want to hear the open sizzle and smell of bacon cooking, or the cloud forming in its own oil from the sausages etc etc. then good luck to you. We’re sticking to the two drawers opening in unison (yes, they can be timed to do so) and delivering the same, or better, as you wait by the cooker rings.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Ninja dual zone is brilliant. It is versatile, fast and easy to use. It is a brilliant way of cooking different meals at the same time. My partner is a meat eater and I am vegetarian so it is possible to keep one zone absolutely untainted by meat products. It cooks much faster than a normal oven but the food is just as tasty, not bland like microwaved food. I absolutely love it. Very easy to washup too and looks really classy in the kitche

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe have only had our Ninja for about a week, but so far so good! Everything we have tried has turned out well, and we haven’t used our old oven once since it arrived. Things take roughly the same time to cook as in the oven, but as it is smaller (I’m guessing), it won’t take as much electricity to use. It is also a heathier way to cook. As others have said, it did smell a bit the first couple of times we used it. However, this didn’t impact on the food itself, and has now stopped. Highly recommend.

    Update: 14/10/20
I have cooked stuffed pepper, Chicken en Croute, battered cod, M&S raw meat balls from frozen – brilliant machine. Delighted that I bought it.

Have used it 3 times after receiving it yesterday. Cleaned the basket and inner tray with soapy warm water and heated the hairdryer for 3 minutes before using to cook.
Cons: Short cable, bulky, needs air vent space on top and side when working.
Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean – dish washer safe ( No rust), no plastic smell, cooks even and crisp without oil, reheat is superb, affordable (I got it for 99).
So far I have airfried breaded chicken goujons, frozen chips, reheated sausages.
Perfect flavour, crisp. Sausages were superb reheated like just cooked.
I have not tried samosas kebabs, garlic bread or baked a cake. Will update the review after trying all possible cooking options.
    So far brilliant product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNot had this long and it is great. I am very pleased with it.

However, I know why we put short cables on appliances is to protect children from pulling them off work surfaces but this cable is just too short. I have no shortage of sockets but I have had to use a block extender which is not very satisfactory in a kitchen. A 1 metre cable would have been fine. I got rather less.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWas tempted to buy a cheaper alternative – but already had a Ninja Coffee machine and rate it highly so thought I would get this one to match – so pleased I did – the easiest thing in the world to use – browns really well (a little too well – doesn’t need as long as you think) – very easy to clean each time you use it – no smells, no oil needed, easiest control pad ever – have used it most days since purchase for cooking a lot of foods that saves turning the oven on
Even roasted garlic in foil on top of other items – you need to keep shaking and rotating the food for even brown colour – and is just a case of pulling the tray out and shaking – makes it easy to see when the food is brown and cooked too – just add brioche buns on top of food cooking to toast for the last couple of minutes for example
Pic just shows the most basic of functions – quick cook of hash browns, from frozen in 15 minutes, no mess no fuss and no hassle – if your thinking of an air fryer don’t hesitate with this one

Great Airfryer - well worth the money, stylish too!

    1. Peel and cut your chips
    2. Rinse in a bowl of water until the water is clear
    3. Drain them off
    4. Put back into the bowl and microwave for a few mins
    5. Tip out onto a tea towel or kitchen roll and leave to steam for a bit and put the fryer on to get hot.
    6. Back into the bowl and a TSP or.2 of oil and toss

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWell, what a great bit of kit!
The trays are massive and the food comes out better and crisper than it’s deep fried counter part.
We have fried and dehydrated some items so far and we couldn’t been happier.

Tip, do check your food every 10 mins and give it a flip the outside can get really crispy quick!

I have given this product 5 stars would of given it another as it fits in my cupboard perfectly…..

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo impressed at how quickly food cooks with little or no oil to add, and retains lots of flavour. Also, when cooking fish or spicy food, there’s no lingering smells – I just put the oven extractor fan on while cooking. The insert rack is a little fiddly to remove when hot which is why I have 4stars for ease of use, but I bought this fryer for the ceramic rack as others are just Teflon coated aluminium and scratch easily. This one is sturdy, non-stick and easy to clean.

Golden Review Award: 295 From Our UsersI have one of the first models of Philips Airfryer and have had it for several years now. After the microwave and kettle it is the appliance I use the most. Yes it’s great for making french fries with barely any oil, but it’s also fantastic for heating and crisping up anything frozen like breadrolls, pies, frozen chicken, hamburges patties, sausages etc. The beauty of the air fryer is that becuase it has a very large element, a small cooking area and a powerful fan, it heats up incredibly quickly. Frozen foods are cooked in half the suggested time. And no waiting for 20 minutes for the oven to warm up. 2-3 minutes and the air fryer is pre-heated. It’s a must for singles who only need to cook small amounts as well as for families where you can do a portion of fries in one go. I defrost frozen rolls in the microwave for 30 seconds and then pop them in the airfryer for 5 minutes and they’re perfect.

My top tip is to make sure you have good ventilation. I use mine placed on top of a breadboard on the cooker with the extractor fan on. The high heat blows out air saturated with oil and smoke which you dont want in the kitchen. So forget the glossy pictures of using it on a counter top. Especially if you are making fries.

So how does this Ninja Air Fryer compare to the Philips?

Well inside the parts look almost identical. The only major differences are:
The Ninja has a digital display and buttons rather than a manual temperature dial and a timer dial.
The Ninja has a wider temperature range and goes up to 210 degrees celsius (max temp for Philips is 200)
The Ninja has an extra setting for dehydrating fruits and vegetables or making jerky.
The most noticeable difference is the frying basket. The ninjas basket is round (which is great as it is much easier to clean than the Philips which is square with ridges) and it has an insert to lift food from the bottom whereas the Philips has a basket that lifts out with a mesh bottom. There are pros and cons to the Ninja design. It’s much easier to clean but the insert has wider slots in it and smaller fries can fall through the holes or get stuck in it.
The other difference is when you open the fryer to check on the cooking progress the Ninja automatically stops and starts again once the basket is put back whereas the Philips just keeps on going.
They both have the same wattage (around 1500 watts)
Ninja has slightly larger capacity 900g fries versus 800g for the original Philips.
The Ninja is competitively priced but the original model Philips is also more affordable now that larger and digital models have come out. At time of writing this review the Ninja was coming out cheapest though.

In terms of performance they are identical. Philips maybe has a very slight edge on getting things crispier due to better airflow because of the mesh basket but that also makes it more difficult to clean.

    Whats in the box:
    The airfryer with UK plug
    Instruction booklet and recipe booklet

All in all, if you don’t have an airfryer yet, get one. This is a great one to start with.
