European charger NOT UK
Nintendo switch lite is great but I didn’t get a uk charging plug. I got a European 2 pin charger and an adaptor that says for shavers and toothbrushes only. It charges fine but is really bulky and ugly.
I could send it back but I really didn’t want to wait for a new one.
I just feel if they have run out of uk chargers they should send an email to the customer asking if adding an adaptor is acceptable. There will be a lot of parents out there buying these and not realise until Christmas Day!

So far, this product has been great. I’ve had no problems at all. I would highly recommend buying it, as (as people know) handheld gaming gives such an immersive experience. 10/10 for me.

The must have personal console of 2020! The lite version of the switch is a great alternative to the full fat home console. Has all the features and plays all the games as the normal Nintendo switch with the same capabilities. The only downsides of the Lite is a slightly flimsy feel to the directional sticks and metallic sound when they are moved. Be aware that I am unable to charge the console when using an extension lead – I have to plug mine directly into the wall socket otherwise it will not charge. But this may be an independent situation. Overall 4 stars!

Amazing Handheld Device
I’ve had quite alot of handheld devices over the years and this is by far the best one. The fact you can play AAA games on such a small device and wherever you want is a game changer. Only downside is it’s a bit small for my hands so I had to buy a case that adds some controller like extensions to the sides for comfort.

Bought this along with the new Animal Crossing for my girlfriends birthday and she has already spent 20+ hours on it! Seeing it in person was the first time I had ever seen one, and it is such a nice size and weight which makes it easy to be able to be played all day. The battery claims from Nintendo of between three and seven hours are pretty spot on, and it seems to charge pretty quick with using USB-C.
My girlfriend was previously playing Animal Crossing on her PC with a Nintendo DS emulator, and the graphical quality difference is night and day. The screen on the Switch is phenomenal, and is an amazing insight into how much technology in handheld consoles has advanced even in the past 5 years since the EU release of the “new” 3DS. To put it into perspective, the Switch Lite screen PPI (pixels per inch) count is higher than the upper and lower display of the new 3DS combined.
Overall a stunningly fun console!

Really wanted the switch but had to settle for the lite given current circumstances however love playing on this devise and would recommend getting one.
Great fun. On dark souls battery lasts around 3.5 to 4 hours. For me it’s enough.

Nintendo eshop has some bargains in their sale so even though physical games are expensive, digital is very reasonable when a sale is on. I went for grey as bright coloured consoles aren’t my thing and the grey really is nice. Definitely recommended

it does exactly what it’s supposed to do! however i think the grey switch light is darker in real life than in the photos (but i prefer it like that anyway!)

Exactly like the original switch, but without the ability to plug into the telly. Fantastic anyway, with most games working exactly the same. No scratches on the device, and was delivered very quickly. Worth every penny

I’ve also used both the regular switch and this one. The weight difference is astounding, the regular switch is unruly and awkward to hold, the lite is perfect for comfortable gaming at home or on the go.
Only problems I had were when I got it I had a dead pixel within 8 hours of use. Amazon sent me a new one after Nintendo support were useless and rude. (Got complained at by an Australian man from Nintendo support)

Brilliant item, the games are well expensive on the Nintendo store, so you’re best buying second hand or off other websites. Amazon are still expensive for games. Battery life is ok, played for two hours and battery went down to 50%. Graphics are good, definitely get it in the sale

Great for kids little hands to use battery life is better then the original switch but i would get a sd card if you are going to download your games as it does take a lot of the internal memory
Bought for my 9 year old for Christmas as an alternative to the more expensive Switch. His face lit up on Christmas Day when he opened it! Does everything he needs it too, graphics look good, and the sound also seems fine. Being able to buy it and spread the cost over a few months was also a saviour in the run up to Christmas.

Does what it needs
Well packaged. Nephew is obsessed with wanting to play it. Even though he has his own. Mainly only got for Bayonetta. But some decent games out also.

I bought the Switch Lite because I only wanted to play a handful of exclusives and couldn’t justify the extra 100 when I have both an Xbox One and a PS4.
I’m really loving the way it feels so far and haven’t come across any issues.
I did get the blue version but it’s a cheap looking colour and I wish I’d bought the grey in the end!

I bought it as I have a Wii but rarely use it as it is a faff to connect to the TV etc… This is brill! I have not had a handheld since the 1st gen GameBoy but it is great! I like the size of the screen and it is easy to use as it is touchscreen! The controls are all placed in a great position so that it is easy to play on too… I like the fact it has a battery too rather than needing AA or AAA batteries! I use mine for about 30 mins a day and am charging it once a week but I only put it to sleep rather than turning off during sessions! Well done Nintendo for getting me back into console gaming!

Pros of lite: simply much more of a true portable console to take anywhere
Cons: fingers can struggle after a long session, smaller screen is a bit more of a strain on eyesight, no built in support for wireless headphones

If you are somebody like me that doesn’t utilise the docking feature then in my humble opinion the Switch Lite is the model you want. Why pay extra for features you won’t use? Save yourself the 80 or so and get a bundle for 200 with a game and you’re in for a treat.
A little thing which is a big one for me that some may not mention is that the buttons on the Lite are much, much quieter meaning that when I want to sneak a quick game of Rocket League, Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein or Mario Odyssey in while in bed and everybody’s sleeping I don’t feel the button mashing is clicking and clacking away annoying my other half in the room. The standard model didn’t make it easy to keep quiet while playing which is one of the best ways to play a Switch, in bed after a long day’s work.
Also a benefit of the Switch Lite is of coarse it’s more portable feel and somewhat slightly brighter display. It even lasts a little longer on the battery compared to the first generation version.
Games are notorious for running at a low resolution on Switch, for example Wolfenstein 2/Youngblood and Doom more notably. But games that suffer this low resolution look that bit more sharper on the handhelds slightly smaller screen.
So there are pro’s and con’s.. as with anything. But I have to say the reasons above are what made me pick the Lite over the standard Nintendo Switch.
You’re still getting 99% of the games to play in a smaller, more compact, more practical unit and less expensive unit. The fact that this is a Nintendo Switch to begin with makes it five stars. As a side note, I’ve put in a number of hours with the Lite and not noticed any immediate stick drift that people talk about, even on the standard model having it for almost 2 years, I didn’t have the issue there either.
At least we have more options for how we choose to play games on the platform.

Works well, no problems. I have never owned a regular Switch so I have no comparisons, and I love this device. It feels very similar to the PSP/PS Vita but bigger. The graphics are great and it has a long battery life. I have played it every day since it arrived (day of launch, 20th September 2019) and it has had no faults. The cheaper price for not having the Switch function is worth it if, like me, you don’t have a television to use that function anyway. The case is smooth and has a nice soft grainy grip feel to it, and the grey allows the games colours to stand out greatly.

I loved the idea of the Nintendo Switch – being able to have a portable gaming console that also docked to your TV. But there were several disadvantages to it: It was just too big to use as a personal pocket games console. It was fine for putting on a table and sharing with friends, but too large to stick in your pocket and go. It was also another ecosystem. Another set of games that you had to buy in adittion to Nintendo DS games which were truly portable.
But it was a good alround gaming platform and an ideal replacement for the Wii as a family TV-based console with occasional portable use eg on holiday.
Nothing could touch the DS consoles for portability though. Until now. It is a shame that the DS is on it’s way out. But for those that have made an investment in to the Switch ecosystem, the Switch Lite is excellent news. You get a portable gaming experience that is almost as portable as the DS, but with graphics and gameplay that is much better. But the real bonus is that now you only need to buy one set of games! When the next major game comes out you no longer need to buy one for the Switch and one for the DS, you just buy the one game and you can play it in the house on the Switch, or on the go on the Switch Lite. It’s about time Nintendo had one ecosystem of games and hardware. The Switch was a good attempt and to a certain extent, it works. But now you have the option of the Switch Lite for the true hand held mobile experience without replacing your titles.
As a console, I actually prefer it. I think the 720p screen looks more vivid on the 5.5″ Lite screen than it does on the 6.2″ Switch screen. The battery life is better. I actually like that the controls are fixed and not removable. They were a bit fiddly and flimsy on the Switch and the Lite is, afterall, a true portable gaming console. Rumble has been removed, but to be honest, it was pretty rubbish anyway so that is no loss. The gameplay and graphics are much better than anything the DS series could offer. So I think Nintendo have played a blinder here. If you are a casual gamer who games at home or socially, get the Switch. If you want something to play on your own, get the Switch Lite. If you already have a Switch in the house, get the Switch Lite and you can play the same games.
We now have a Switch hooked up to the family TV and both of my kids have a Switch Lite each. As long as they are prepared to share the game titles, they can all play their own thing in their own time. It’s a brilliant idea and a true pockatable replacement for the Nintendo DS.
BTW, not sure why each of the 3 colours at the release date show as seperate items and why the grey one has a lower score than the yellow or torquise one since they are all the same console. Maybe Amazon want’s to take a look at that and have one listing with 3 colour options rather than 3 seperate listings!
I’m absolutely ADDICTED to the Switch Lite! It’s the perfect handheld in every way. Screen is good, sound is good. Games are good. I chose the grey version because the yellow and blue ones are way too bright and distracting and they look like kids toys. The grey looks more mature and looks like an actual gaming handheld with the white buttons. Very happy with this handheld.
