Simple to use, easy to slide the locking door in place and the dogs love it. No messy batteries, electrics or programming to go wrong.

My cats have broken through countless hard plastic cat flaps and locks so thought I’d go for a flexible flap with a sturdy locking mechanism this time. So far so good!

Easy to install with some fairly basic DIY skills and keeps any draught out.

Love this doggy door, was very easy install. Didn’t want to spend a lot of money, so used normal wood as the paneling cut by a jigsaw. As you can see on the inside of door I attached a second piece of wood to allow for the closing off insert for when we are not home. I covered all the wood with a roll of PVC white adhesive film and it is perfect. No real issues with the screws apart from using an electric crew driver with one of them which is not a good idea as it took the shape out of the screw but thankfully there is a spare. Got a medium size for my big girl boxer and it’s perfec

So much better than the plastic flaps I will get years of use for my dogs it’s very sturdy and you can buy replacement plastic flaps on Amazon for around 20 only down side is the plastic screws don’t over tighten them or they break.

Great product, used to cover up an old cat flap and vent, whilst making a new flap for our dog. The flap is good quality, easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Comes with an easy to use cutting template. The added feature of a solid plastic cover to use at night etc. Is great.

Although I had a handyman fit mine, it appeared relatively straightforward and easy. We decided against Wi-Fi and blue tooth enabled products as invariably these can go wrong or run out of batteries. To ensure we bought the right size we cut out a door shape with flap in a sheet of cardboard and trained her to jump through this using some tempting cheesy bits. We were worried that our dog wouldn’t use it as she hates opening doors with her nose, but since the flap is quite lightweight and partially translucent she took to it straight away. The medium size is ideal for a Springer Spaniel size dog. We were also concerned that the magnetic flap might not shut every time or blow open in the wind but this has not happened and forms an adequate weather tight fit (note: our dog flap does not face a open area with a strong prevailing wind). When we go out or at night we simply slide the closing panel in place, which offers further security and weather protection. This product seems well made and sturdy

It was simple to install and my elderly cats and lunatic dogs have no problem using it at all, the dogs go through at light speeds and also push it open to check the weather, my cats go through more sedately and also push it open to check for dogs.
It’s definitely weather proof, looks good and wipes clea

    Good quality, good price

Relatively ok to fit. But the plastic threads are cheap and nasty and not easy to fix, metal fixings would be better, I have replaced mine with metal and replaced the washers

These doggy/cat doors are fantastic and so much better then the plastic ones that break after a while of your pet running in and out of them. Made from strong metal with a flexible rubber type flap door. It nice and quiet with strong magnets. We have two sizes the medium on the white door and a small on the brown door. One is used for a cupboard we use as there cat litter box room and the other on our bedroom door so our sphynx cats can come and go as they please but with the shutter that comes with it we can shut them out if needs be. Had them for a few months now and are lasting brilliantly! I also love that you can get replacement flaps for them without having to buy a whole new unit. Yes they aren’t the cheapest but 1,000% worth it! Easy to install with the instructions and so handy to have a paper template to follow when cutting that you just tape to the door so it doesn’t move.

I guess the only negative I would give this door is that the screws are plastic. We snapped one when putting in but thankfully the pack came with a spare!

    Well worth the money!

Took me about 2 hours to fit and I’m not really great at DIY. Used the template provided which needs to be cut to the size you’ve ordered. Note if fitting the medium door the template is a bit misleading. Measure twice before you cut. Other than that it’s reasonably easy to fit. As others have said, the plastic bolts seem flimsy so be careful tightening them. Cats and dog both took to it immediately. Once fitted its sturdy and the security flap is a nice feature. Would have given it a 5 if not for the comments I’ve made above.

I have used this door flap for many years. This is a replacement after a few years use. The flap does tend to blow open if its windy which makes the house cold. My dogs are small but friends Hungarian vizla even fits through it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was nervous about fitting this myself but instructions are clear and template is accurate so it was fine. Really pleased with sturdy, neat finish. Was worried our shy and nervous rescue cats wouldn’t use it but its fine and they love the independence of being able to come and go as they like and don’t seem bothered by the quite weighty flap (which stays in place on breezy days). Tied the flap up for the first few days to get them used to climbing through and then they soon got the hang of pushing the flap so are using it with confidence now. Very well made and looks much better than plastic ones. Outer door to close it off is well made and easy to use. Ours is fitted into a sheltered passage way but we had the full brunt of Storm Francis and it was fine. Would definitely recommend this product.

Having always had plastic pet flaps before, they tend to wear quickly, break easily with exuberant pets, and discolour over time.

This metal pet flap feels much higher quality than any plastic one we’ve had before, and seems much more robust. I’m not sure what the longevity of the soft flexible plastic flap itself will be like, but it is easily replaceable (much more so than the hard plastic on most doors).

Overall, very pleased. The flap is well styled and robust.

My only minor criticism is that the screws are plastic, which does provide a potential weak point if a pet is prone to chewing the flap, and the plastic heads are on the inside, where this is most likely to happen. Not a major showstopper, as you can replace with your own metal ones, but i’d have preferred to not to have had to do that.

Have replaced our old PetSafe dog flap (plastic one) with this one. Had to make the existing hole cut in the door a little taller but it wasn’t a big job. Fits in great, it looks much better than the old one and being aluminum it seems much sturdier. Dog seems happy with it.

We have had a dog flap for years the solid plastic one that bangs and clatters as they go in and out and had to replace the doors over the years as they crack with use and the sun on it so thought it was time for a change . This door is advertised wrongly as when you flick through the adds I thought the flap was metal but its the frame. I found this so easy to fit just had to make the hole higher and in it went the only down side are the screws they are plastic and not very good but replaced them with metal ones .the door fits flush to your door no bits sticking out looks lovely and its so quiet now don’t hear the dogs going in and out .

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have black labs and opted for the medium size which was more than enough as the labs are happy to go through small holes in fences!, don’t go for the large one as I would probably fit through it.
Your door needs to be about 1″ thick or you will need to make a frame for it to sit in for sturdiness
Best thing I ever bought!, fairly easy to fit but not really much instructions to go by
the fixing screws are plastic which was my only concern but after over a year of heavy use its still working very well

We got the medium pet flap to replace the cat flap we had in place. We’d had a chip reading one that our little dog managed to break both locks on. We replaced that with an ordinary cat flap but the dog struggled with it. We needed the medium because of the size of the existing hole.

I fitted this to a UPVC door with moulded design which needed trimming off to get it to sit flush. That wasn’t difficult with a hack saw blade. It took a while to get the size right as the “pattern” didn’t sit flush on the door.

The thing that irritated me was the cheap plastic screws. Two of the cross heads stripped really easily. I discarded the first as there was a spare. The second I had to tighten with two pliers, which took ages as I had to use a long nose pair that didn’t grip easily. I also had to do this through the pet flap which made visibility difficult.

What the information doesn’t tell you is that after all this (and I was happy it looked good) the guard needs a flush door to fit on easily. I’m going to have to trim some of the UPVC moulded design away, which is going to look horrible. 🙁

But the dog now gets in and out very easily. Going to be interesting tonight as Storm Dennis descends on us, might get that guard on no matter what!!

Beware of moulded design on UPVC doors!

Great size for the Cockapoos, easy to put into door. Only criticism is that they gave plastic screws in the kit. I tightened them up only to discover that I needed to make the outer hole in the door a bit wider than the inner one, so that the ‘metal nut’ would slip into the door. Unfortunately the cross head became ‘a round’ when trying to undo the screw. I have now used metal screws and nuts from my own stock.

This is a really nice looking dog flap. I fitted to a newly fitted door and it looks like it was made for the door. My dogs instantly used it like it had always been there and they had never used one before.
Unfortunately the British weather has defeated it and it leaks when it rains. I’ve since removed, siliconed and refitted. It still gathers water in the entry and leaks through even when the flap is closed with the cover on. I think it depends on the direction of the rain but the design allows water to gather on the outside and leak in.

Simple to install and easy for the cats too. Even though our kittens are microchipped we never leave them out if we are getting back after dark. So no real point in going to the expense and complications of a Chip operated door.
Also my previous cat never got the hang of a door that she could see through being locked- she would just keep bashing it until it broke. With this one’s slide in panel they can perfectly understand the simple concept of open and Shut. Once the panel is down they just walk away. It’s easy to see that dilemma from their point of view so for us this is the perfect answer. Once it is shut it is also secure and weatherproof. Great Door. MEOWWW.

I really like this dogie door. This door is perfect. It was easy to install. The plastic screws work just fine. The flap’s weight is light and smooth enough for the dog to push all the way up. Also, there’s enough overlap with the frame to cover the corner cuts. The magnets on it really do work exceptionally well. Very good quality pet door & the so far we are very pleased with the product.

I bought a medium for my small labrador and it’s fine, even though it says they only go to 18kg and she’s 22kg, I went by shoulder width. The next size up I could have climbed through myself! Reasonably easy to install, silly plastic nuts and bolts didn’t even bother with them but used metal ones instead. Aluminium frame is very strong. Works well. I think it could be a bit draughty and the magnetic strip will blow open in high winds even though it’s in a reasonably sheltered spot. But generally very pleased with it, as is the dog!

It’s only been in a few days but appears very sturdy. I have taken the actual flap bit off for the moment so the cats can get used to it more easily as it is different to the previous cat flap we had and also in a slightly different location. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEasy to install but the cutout is to large if you followed this instruction the screws would be limited clearance. So I cut the hole smaller by 5mm all round. Which is a nice fit.
The flap is excellent quality the frame being metal instead of plastic and the flap is rubber so doesn’t make a bang everytime it opens and shuts. JUST BE CAREFUL OF THE HOLE SIZE. Better to make it smaller and make it larger.

We had the petsafe flap with a plastic frame, but then got a new puppy who ate the frame. Replaced it with this one. Easy to install etc. and the aluminium frame is great. Sits flush to the door rather than jutting out like the plastic one, a massive improvement. The plastic bolts are flimsy and ridiculous so would recommend replacing. I have used them and this has held up so far (been on for a year now), but I remain cautious.

Two points to be cautious of – this thing stays open when a dog comes back in when it’s windy and makes our kitchen freezing cold. Usually, kicking the magnet lock shut again keeps it shut, but the dogs are too stupid to do this. If it’s very windy it will open on its own.

Also, before installing, check that you will be able to slide the plastic locking shield thing in once it is in place. Ours fits, but only just. The plastic cover is great when you are away and don’t need to let dogs in/out.

Wish we’d got one of these years ago. All that money wasted on cat-flaps that cracked and broke. This is sturdy, keeps out drafts and when it’s locked, it’s well and truly locked. Our cat could fight his way out of the normal ones, but he doesn’t even bother with this, so I can keep him in safe and sound, away from foxes and other dangers.

Excellent pet door. The hardest job was manually cutting the hole in the UPVC door. Easy to install once this was done. The very long nylon screws are a bit of pain. Obviously you can’t use a electric screw driver and cutting them short before you install may damage the threads. My adult Yorkshire Terrier has no trouble popping in and out.

Unlike other cat flaps I have purchased, this one has a sturdy metal frame. However, I chose this because of the rubbery flap as our cats have experienced difficulties with solid hard plastic flaps and paws getting caught up in the past. The flap is lovely soft opaque rubber that most cats would be strong enough to push and bend. I guess it’s why the manufacturers chose this material. The flap is held vertical by a magnet, similar to a fridge door. Our cat has taken a bit of time learning she needs a bit a initial head weight to push it open but she got there in the end. In my experience, cat flaps are never as easy to fit as the videos would have you believe, so allow a good couple of hours just in case. Like most DIY, it’s down to your experience and no doubt if I was fitting one of these each day I could well have it done in under half an hour. We know somebody who paid 60 to have one fitted and to be honest, if you don’t own a jig-saw, drill and some knee protection that’s not a bad price versus exhaustion. I saw it’s possible to renew rubber flap if it gets worn so let’s see how long this lasts.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersBought the medium for our 15kg beagle and her arse makes it through with no problems.
Only issue I had was the crossbar on the upvc door as it got in the way of the sliding cover.
All I had to do was to hold the panel flush against the door – under the crossbar – and mark the place where I’d need to remove part of the sliding edge.
You can see where I managed to trim a few cm from the bottom of the panel and now i can put it flush against the door and it slides in. Otherwise it was putting pressure on the plastic bolts and might have ruined them.

Works fine, with a wee bit of tinkering...

We bought two for a nine-inch outside wall. Our builder made a little tunnel for the dogs (a beagle and a terrier, for which ‘medium’ is the right size) to go through. Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersThis is actually the second one we’ve bought of these. The reason being that our back door locking mechanism has finally given up the ghost and we had to get a new backdoor. With the dogs going in and out of these flaps all day, even with cleaning, the do get a bit scratched up and dirty over time so we thought that if we’re forking out for a new door we might as well get a new flap to go with it.

It’s very easy to fit – at least that’s what the door installers told me 🙂

The size I have is the MEDIUM one and its perfectly adequate for my dogs which are miniature schnauzers. The black one that you see in the picture, Ben, he’s quite large for a miniature schnauzer and still fits through it perfectly well. Maybe the small might be ok for other Miniature Schnauzers.

You’ll notice we’ve installed the flap very low on the door. This is because the cover that slides into it to secure the flap requires as much space above it as possible. The old one we installed too high and it was difficult to get the security cover out and in because we had to bend it a little because the recessed panel in the door. Where it is now is perfect.

The security cover has a little metal spring loaded lock on it. I do have to pull this out when I’m pushing it down into the flap to get over the edges, but once its in, its impossible to open from the outside as far as we can tell.

The flap is also magnetic so it stays shut even in the wind – this was a definite requirement of mine as I didn’t want it flapping open in the wind and letting the cold air in.

In summary, I’m very happy – I wouldn’t have bought one again if I wasn’t.

Brilliant - saves me keep having to open the door to let the dog ou

It is well worth paying more for the aluminium dog flap. It is much more robust and seals well. I also think it looks a lot nicer. If you do have a dog that is particularly energetic and damages the flap, even outside the warranty, it can be replaced very easily.

Our Jack Russels love it. Could do with a slightly stronger magnet as it swings in high winds. But overall is very good

Does the job and robust. Doesn’t break easily like other makes do when a dog is in a rush to run outside the house.

There are lots of cat-flaps on the market but most of them appear to be quite flimsy in construction. This product would seem to be the Rolls-Royce of (non-electronic) cat-flaps.
As with any such pet door, I would not recommend the large size for security reasons, except in the case of a shed or barn (or similar).

The best pet door ive purchased. Easy to fit and looks really good. Very quiet when dogs go in and out too not like the rigid ones .

Good door now fotted successfully BUT plastic fitting screws are very delicate! When fitting, the head broke off one of the four screws. Any chance of a replacement screw please? Thanks

Good product, very helpful service department. One suggestion if fitting in a recess panel make sure the closing panel slides in, if not I used some 25mm wood baton between the inside frame & panel.

Nylon bolts are fragile (I overtightened one and it broke). Unfortunately they only provide minimum. Given low cost of these a couple of spares wouldn’t go amiss. Door though is superb and would recommend.

It took my Border Terrier a little while to get comfortable with his own personal door. After 2 days he’d sussed it out and loves it. I did not have any problems with the plastic bolts on installation. They’re actually better than metal ones as they have a security nut that prevents anyone removing the door from the outside and being plastic they’re simple to trim flush. The cover won’t fit if you have a centre bar across the door but just trim an inch or two of the edge sliders and it will fit without fuss.

The magnetic door closes well and is quite quiet. There is a very slight draft but until winter it remains to be seen how bad this will be. Overall I’m extremely happy with the product and my dog is even happier.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPersonally I’d like to give this cat flap 5 stars, as it seems very well made and was a doddle to fit. The metal frame should last, and the flap itself is replaceable should it wear out. However, I’ve deducted one star because our 3 cats really aren’t keen! I chose it because it has a deep (tall) and flexible flap. It works on the first point, but it’s not very ‘flexible’. Hopefully it will soften up with use, but if anything I expect it will probable harden! Time will tell. Perhaps I need to get stronger/braver cats!

been using this as my dog flap for a good while now. Its great for my dog and works fine. In the storms the flap can get drafty but the cover is secure.

As described, very easy to fit and easy for the dogs and cat to use as its soft flap doesnt clatter and scare them. An excellent produc

The aluminium frame is far superior to the standard frame. Instead of using the included plastic screws I replaced them with 50mm stainless steel screws providing a very solid fitment. We are just coming into winter and I will be interest in the thermal aspect of the plastic door and its ability to stay closed on a windy and cold day. Perhaps a thicker insulated flap with this frame would be the ideal combination but so far very good and our dog just loves it … took him just 30 minutes to work it all out. Why didn’t I buy this sooner having wasted my money on keep replacing the original plastic one several times because my dog would break the plastic trying to escape when it was closed. This one is so much sturdier and set closer to the door so there are no gaps he can get his teeth around to pull. I had to make the hole slightly larger to fit it but it wasnt a difficult job. Highly recommended.

Brilliant dog flap. Had for a couple of months now. It always closes back with the magnets. Very easy to use for my 4 month old Cockapoo. I bought the medium dog flap. Now she runs through with force. Twice it has stayed open because of the extreme gales we had had lately but in normal strong winds it stays shut. It is nice and neat and easily wiped clean. Very quiet closure. Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI researched the best dog flaps and this was one of them. Also the company who come out to fit dog flaps also recommended these. I have 2 cockers and both get through this easily which you don’t expect when you see the size of it as it looks small. It’s proved so useful and piece of mind when out all day knowing dogs can get out for the toilet or a run around. Dogs only took a week to be using it easily. One dog took slightly longer as she seemed to think she still needed me to point to it to make it work. Funny. Flush to the door. No bulky cheap looking plastic. Metal. Looks great.

Great dog flap but will only fit a door at least an inch thick as my back door is only 10 mm thick where the flap was going i had to make a frame so it fitted ok ,also the plastic bolts that it comes with are very weak and snap very easy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove this dog flap, been using this type for years as the plastic ones always got broken with the terriers going through it at speed. We have a medium size which accommodates the jack russells, lab and english bull terrier – oh and the cat …

Need one on a new shed/studio now so have purchased another. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is really good and we bought this for a second home. We now have two and they are brilliant. Our cocker spaniels race through it and the plastic cheaper version were absolutely useless for them as they kept braking. This is very sturdy and copes with two dogs hurtling through it at speed. Sadly this later version has a plastic security door rather than the original hard metal door.

Great product. I like the security door that slides on. Only issues it only fits on one side. I would like it to be interchangeable and fit inside or outside.

Good product, we bought a plastic cat flap a few years ago – our dog pushed his head through and immediately broke one of the plastic hinges! So definitely wanted to go for a metal flap this time for our dog. The only down side was the fact that our garden door is only half inch thick in the area for the dog flap so had to make up a wood border surround because product is designed for thicker doors. Also the bolts are PLASTIC, yes really! The retainers for the bolts are metal- so why aren’t the bolts metal? This just takes the shine off the product, especially as I broke one by tightening it too tight.

Excellent, it stands up to my three collies constantly going in and out through it, so glad I spent a bit more to get the metal one, I don’t think the plastic version would have stood up to such use!

Much sturdier than any other make. We bought this for our dog and she flies through each way! The magnets are strong enough to stop it flapping in strong winds and you can secure it closed easily if need be. It was worth paying the extra for better quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good flap….except those stupid plastic screws that hold it together through the door. Why oh why make something so strong that operates so well and then use silly plastic M4 screws to pull it together? The heads shear off or the shafts snap, useless. If you do buy one of these get a handful of M4 stainless steel bolts from an auction site (length dependant on your door thickness plus 20mm) and some M4 stainless washers and locknuts. To be honest I think the plastic bolts are a security issue too as it doesn’t take much to break them prying the flap from the door and then removing the whole assembly.
Other than that a good strong cat flap. This medium size one is perfect for out Shih Tzu.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI read most of the negative reviews on this product and still decided to go ahead and purchase one. Most of the reviews seemed to be about the wind blowing the flap open. Mine is still new but seems firm enough and a strong wind hasn’t managed to blow it open yet. The construction is very good and when the shutter is in place on the back our cat who I believe could be a distant relative of Houdini can’t manage to get out. You can buy replacement flaps. The plastic screws which are provided broke when I was using my power screw driver. I replaced them with metal screws. The cat flap width was slightly too large for our door so I had to fit a type of plastic beeding around the flap to take up the slack which has worked out fine. Whilst I was reading all the reviews on various cat flaps there didn’t seem to be a perfect one, but this I feel is probably one of the best out there. It would have been nice if it had a locking device which would locked by itself when the cat was in. Most of the other cat flaps in the past that I have fitted seemed very flimsy, this one feels it will last for ages. I am pleased with my purchase.
