Philips Hue White A19 E27 60 W Equivalent Smart Bulb Starter Kit (2 Hue White Bulbs and a Bridge, Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant) [Energy Class A+]
My entry into the world of Hue. Fantastic stuff ! Still getting used to all the different settings, routines etc and havi8ng to reset it all when kids start messing about with it. However Philips bulbs are very good quality and though significantly more expensive than other Hue compatible bulbs are more reliable and seem to have a more consistent connection to hub. Worth paying the extra really for the convenience.
Wasn’t sure about buying these as they are a little pricey for light bulbs, but I’m glad that I did I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how nice they are. I will eventually replace all the existing bulbs in my house with them.
Good price and works flawlessly with Apple products. Does work with my S8, but not the voice function unless I buy a separate Samsung connect hub. Regardless I’ve used this with the white and ambiance bulb as well and was very impressed.
Great product! They work really well apart from sometimes when they won’t connect to my phone but that’s easy to fix, just put your phone on airplane mode and turn on the WiFi again. Apart from that it’s a really good produc
Great bulbs as always. My house is full of these and I love them, I bought this as a gift for my sister so she can start automating her her house. It’s a fantastic starter pack to see if you like the hue experience.
excellent lighting system, much better than cheaper alternatives. spend a little extra and you’ll get exactly what it says. saving up for more bulbs now and a motion sensor!
Great smart lighting system, that is flexible and expandable, and integrates into so many day to day things!
I have this integrated with out Plex Media Server, which plays all our TV and movies, and is so nice to be able to play a movie and have the lights automatically go out, and then back on again when pausing/stopping the movie… not to speak of the recent ability to have the lights change colour according to what is going on in the movie/tv… just a great lighting system that is well worth the money.
Not only do we have the cinema effect, but in conjunction with the Philips Hue Intelligent Motion Sensor Smart Accessory, Apple HomeKit Enabled, Works with Alexa,White we have a more efficient lighting system in the house… no more fumbling for lights when going to the toilet at night… and no being blinded either, as you can set the lights to be triggered in night light mode… just a great lighting system that I would not be without now.
Very easy to set up and the lights are fantastic. Can control the brightness, intensity and also dims nicely. The routine feature on the app, allowing you to gently wake up to an every brightening glow or setting the light to slowly dim out in the kids room at night is great. Also Integrates with Alexa very well but, be careful when having several lights named slightly similar, it can confuse Alexa which light your on about and the constant response can be frustrating so, note to not have lights named alike. Overall Brilliant.
I thought long and hard about this before buying. I really only wanted to be able to use Echo to switch on and off our outside lights. It was ridiculously easy to set up and to link to Alexa. It works perfectly so far. I am now tempted to add more lights, though the expense is more than a little discouraging.
Fantastic, absolutely love this. Really easy to set up and works so well with echo, wish I’d brought a second echo and more bulbs but was concerned about so many not great reviews but I needn’t have worried.
Finally took the plunge and opted for the Phillips Hue smart lighting. Really impressed with the kit. The setup was simple and easy and the bulbs were up running and linked to the app in all of 5 minutes. Easy integration with Alexa via the Skills section in the Alexa app also. I have since purchased more bulbs which are all now linked to their own routines, scenes and geofenced.
Bought for my tech-obsessed son. I’m
Not easily impressed by electronics – but WOW!
Best thing is you don’t even need a dimmer switch. We changed his light switch to a regular one (instead of a dimmer) to be compatible with the bulbs in this kit and were DELIGHTED to discover that you can actually have the light dim by voice activation in percentage increments. Impressive!
So far so good. Easy setup, and the bulbs work well in my very old vintage lamps. I only hope the novelty of shouting “Alexa, Lights Off!” while I’m trying to read or otherwise get things done wears off for my boyfriend soon.
Yes they are expensive but hopefully I’ll get years of use out of them. Set up was a doddle and it works perfectly with the amazon echo. I can’t imagine having to go back to the old days of switching on and off the lights rather than asl Alexa to do it for me. You can also ask Alexa to dim them 25% 50% 75%
Really good and work very well via the app. These are screw fit bulbs though – be aware as I didn’t read that part.
The other thing is that, I don’t understand how you’re supposed to turn your lights on and off if you don’t have the app I.e. does everyone in the house have to have the app and therefore you have to open the app to turn the lights on and off? It can be done using the light switches but if you turn them off at the switch then the app won’t work.
Good for security when you’re not there, but not so good for turning lights on and off if you’re in the house.
I have connected mine to Alexa but it is quicker to get up and click the switch than it is to ask Alexa to turn them on and off.
I love Philips Hue lights now. They work brilliantly and I now have full control over all lamps in our house.
The only downside is the price, and I’ve actually started adding some Innr bulbs which are compatible with the Hue Bridge and are much cheaper (especially for the coloured bulbs).
I’m not a techy and was really worried about setting these up but it was easy and I love them! They can be set up for when you’re on holiday too. Can’t wait to get more bulbs – a bit pricey but I’ll get there!
Superb bit of kit, really easy to set up and use- didnt really need the manual. The work well and make me want to but more bulbs and maybe other smart items to sui
Love Philips hue. Expensive but good. These Ines are just white but are dimmable. Give off a nice light and can be used with your wifi. Which is great if you want to give your home the look that somebody in at home when your out.
Philips hue have done a great thing here, however their app leaves alot to the imagination and i will be purchasing a better working app, would of rated it 5 stars if it weren’t for the poor functionality of philips mobile app
It might seem a bit gimmicky but from a security perspective, you can control your lights from anywhere. It also has a lovely function to turn your lights on automatically when you approach home in the dark. If you use it with the Hue Motion Sensor, you can allow lighting to come on automatically in parts of your home/office.
These give a fairly warm light and are fully able to be dimmed. Whilst it was a bit of a pain setting these up to work with the Echo Dot it will be good for my partially sighted mother to be able to switch room lights on with a voice command in the middle of the night so she can safely make her way to the loo. The lights have to be assigned to a room in the Hue app before the Echo Dot will operate them
Shame these only comes in a screw bulb but the adapters are cheap enough. A great piece of kit, app is very good as well. Smooth running with the app and bridge and no delay between using the app and the lights coming on. Timer setting works perfectly and the dimmable function is really nice. My favourite feature is the ‘sunrise’ effect; where the light comes on at its lowest and then gradually gets brighter until full over a time period of your choosing. Work well when connected out of home as well, switching the lights on before arriving at home is a nice feature. The only downside is many years of being told to switch lights off, which obviously switches the bulb off completely.
ordered these hoping that they would come new and unopened. The box had clearly been opened before as there was just normal tape over the top of the factory seal that was cut. Upon opening the box the cardboard that was supposed to hold the uk plug adaptor was ripped open and the adaptor was already attached to the plug. on one of the bulbs there were green marks on the plastic. none of this effects the use of the product but it would be nice to have had a new un opened product.
Great lights and super easy to set up, only took about 10 minutes and work very well with the app.
You can control on/off, dimming, time schedules for wake up or sleep also for when you are away from home. And great fun to use.
This system is THE bees knees when it comes to home lighting, not surprising when they have been going so long.
This stuff works so well with an iphone too, it’s all built directly into the Home Kit app.
I love the HUE system. It does things that a normal light on a timer doesnt. POP to setup. set the routines and jobs done. can even get it to tie in with nes
Setup with Amazon Echo is simple enough but does take some time.
You can turn lights on and off with a command.
You can set up timers an schedules to automatically switch the bulbs on and odd.
The Hue hub does need to be wired into your network router, it doesn’t support WiFi.
These white lights are amazing. Very low power consumption and variable lighting. I have them timed to switch on and off and fitted into table lamps with a bayonet adapter. Good for our home security. Very good value with the hub included.
Love these but they do still have some kinks – 90% of the time they work as they should and produce a lovely light which we normally used at a dimmed setting, occasionally they don’t always respond and it might take two try’s to dim or switch off.
Amazingly loud buzzing when I first installed these… replaced the existed dimmer switches with standard on / off switches and completely solved the problem.
Just be careful to order the right bulb set for the lamps that you have. It was my own fault but I ordered the screw in type by mistake. Great product though and with the right bulbs they are very easy to set up. I have mine working with Alexa also.
Bought this to dip my toe in smart home tech . I am no techi but found really easy to set up . Easy to use on the app but have also set up on my Amazon Echo and it works brilliantly. Excellent product !
Using it with Alexa and it works great! It gets some getting used to it but it really helps me when I’m coming into the house carrying bags not really having to look for the light switch for example. (Yes first world problems 😛 )
I have been looking at these for a while and decided to for it….. easy to set-up, easy to install and a joy to use. I have them set-up in the lounge and not even aware when they come on as they slowly dim up……. adding more to other rooms and the outside as they are just so flexible……
Love these! Once you start you cant stop… it’s hard to stop adding more lights and accessories from the range! They can be expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
Bam! pop on the lights with my phone on the way home from work. Job done. get the screw in bayonet fittings separately as these don’t fit with the standard ones. Really nice light, can dim as required. No need to argue about who needs to get out of bed to turn off the bedroom light any more.
This starter kit is just a gateway to the full home automation drug. You’ll soon have lights changing colour via IFTTT or Fibaro/SmartThings and scenes configured all over the house. Expensive, but so’s crack.
Set up using an iPad, easy as installing the Philips Hue app and hey presto, local and remote control of lighting for improved security. Easy to set up on and off times using the alarms and timer function and the random facility brings lights off an on in a realistic pattern.
I am totally in love with all things Philips Hue; I have the bulbs, bloom lamps, and the Go. I started with it a year ago and only just got these white bulbs. They are version 2 with the Apple HomeKit enabled bridge if controlling your lights by Siri is your thing. For me I enjoy setting scenes and moods with colour lamps, and use these in my hall so I can switch them on via the hue website as Im leaving work. Lovely to come home to the house lit up, andmay have some security benefit too.
Worked a dream, lights now go on and off by speaking to Alexa
Easy to setup and nice application to alter light settings
Wasn’t sure about buying these as they are a little pricey for light bulbs, but I’m glad that I did I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how nice they are. I will eventually replace all the existing bulbs in my house with them.
Good price and works flawlessly with Apple products. Does work with my S8, but not the voice function unless I buy a separate Samsung connect hub. Regardless I’ve used this with the white and ambiance bulb as well and was very impressed.
Don’t know how I was living before these bulbs came along!
Loving the hue system, specially with ifttt as a lot of options seem to be geared to work with the hue system
Great product! They work really well apart from sometimes when they won’t connect to my phone but that’s easy to fix, just put your phone on airplane mode and turn on the WiFi again. Apart from that it’s a really good produc
Easy to set up and no problems as of yet!
Thanks for a great product will buy more hue products
Great bulbs as always. My house is full of these and I love them, I bought this as a gift for my sister so she can start automating her her house. It’s a fantastic starter pack to see if you like the hue experience.
excellent lighting system, much better than cheaper alternatives. spend a little extra and you’ll get exactly what it says. saving up for more bulbs now and a motion sensor!
Works as expected. Slightly higher cost than other alexa supported devices but hopefully Philips has the better longevity.
Great smart lighting system, that is flexible and expandable, and integrates into so many day to day things!

Love this product. Going to buy the coloured version nex
Very easy to set up and the lights are fantastic. Can control the brightness, intensity and also dims nicely. Works well with Google home and the dimming function is grea
A wee bit expensive compared to the alternatives, but works great and love the flexibility when connecting to Alexa.
very easy to install, completed full install of bulbs and unit in under one minute
Arrived in a timely fashion, easy to setup and works brilliantly. 100% would recomend
Great smart lighting system, not the cheapest on the market but the functionality of the app and the quality of the products shines through.
Brilliant bit of kit. It’s brilliant turning the lights on, dimming them and turning them off using Alexa. Now to get the Hue mood lights.
Great product. I will be buying more bulbs to add.
Works easily with Amazon Echo, and Appel home.
I thought long and hard about this before buying. I really only wanted to be able to use Echo to switch on and off our outside lights. It was ridiculously easy to set up and to link to Alexa. It works perfectly so far. I am now tempted to add more lights, though the expense is more than a little discouraging.
Excellent. I use it with IFTTT. Works like a charm.
Fantastic, absolutely love this. Really easy to set up and works so well with echo, wish I’d brought a second echo and more bulbs but was concerned about so many not great reviews but I needn’t have worried.
So easy and convenient to operate. Worth the 50 price tag
Finally took the plunge and opted for the Phillips Hue smart lighting. Really impressed with the kit. Would highly recommend!
Good…works as expected. However apps (Alexa and Hue) r poor and problematic.
Good after hours spent getting to work via Alexa.
Bought for my tech-obsessed son. I’m

Works great and now use Innr bulbs with it, works grea
Philips Hue’s are expensive but they are reliable, long lasting, cheap to run and the light they give out is appealing.
i’m disabled so its important for me to try and automate as many things as i ca
So far so good. Easy setup, and the bulbs work well in my very old vintage lamps. I only hope the novelty of shouting “Alexa, Lights Off!” while I’m trying to read or otherwise get things done wears off for my boyfriend soon.

A fab set of bulbs. So easy to use and I cannot wait to get more. I love that I can dim them to any setting.
Great value for money, and was so easy to set up and use, works great with Alexa!
Works very well and can be set to come on and off at certain times. Great to turn on so house lit before you get home
The future of lighting is Hue and I love the ability to control my lights from where ever I am!
Set up is simple enough and using it, the app is well designed and user friendly. Highly recommend!
Really good and work very well via the app. These are screw fit bulbs though – be aware as I didn’t read that part.

love these! works well. Don’t have to worry if my wifi is 2.4 / dual etc
These are great and work brilliantly with Alexa….way overpriced though!!!
Great item and I now control my lighting via Alexa, and when I am away can control my lighting through the Hue app. Great bit of kit.
I’m not a techy and was really worried about setting these up but it was easy and I love them! They can be set up for when you’re on holiday too. Can’t wait to get more bulbs – a bit pricey but I’ll get there!
excellent quality, good price. already expanded my collection of bulbs
Superb bit of kit, really easy to set up and use- didnt really need the manual. The work well and make me want to but more bulbs and maybe other smart items to sui
As straight forward as it comes.
The hub doesn’t seem to be wireless, which is a surprise, but easy to connect to smart watch, phone, and Alexa.
Love Philips hue. Expensive but good. These Ines are just white but are dimmable. Give off a nice light and can be used with your wifi. Which is great if you want to give your home the look that somebody in at home when your out.

Great product and very easy to setup. The app on Android works as expected and product is compatible with Amazon Echo which works perfectly.
The white light is perfect and if too bright it’s easy to dim using the phone app or Amazon Echo.
I bought this for my wife who has mobility issues. Now she doesn’t need to worry about trying to reach sockets to turn lamps on or off.
These are awesome. Hub works well, although if you don’t have enough lamps to create a good mesh network, the range is a bit crummy
Good product. Latest software release improved use as a security device.
It might seem a bit gimmicky but from a security perspective, you can control your lights from anywhere. It also has a lovely function to turn your lights on automatically when you approach home in the dark. If you use it with the Hue Motion Sensor, you can allow lighting to come on automatically in parts of your home/office.
Works great for us. We have two phones connected and both can turn these on/off. Very easy to set up and operate.
If you want a smart home this is a must. Works fine with Alexa, turns on and off lights, sets the mood in coloured bulbs, it’s just lovely.
These give a fairly warm light and are fully able to be dimmed. Whilst it was a bit of a pain setting these up to work with the Echo Dot it will be good for my partially sighted mother to be able to switch room lights on with a voice command in the middle of the night so she can safely make her way to the loo. The lights have to be assigned to a room in the Hue app before the Echo Dot will operate them
This is a very smart product, once set up really good technology works well with Alexa dot and Philips hue app.
Easy to set up and get running with Alexa, voice commands are nice and short. Also very responsive.
Shame these only comes in a screw bulb but the adapters are cheap enough. A great piece of kit, app is very good as well. I can’t Imagine my life without it. A very good solution to automate the lighting in your house. A must have in every house.
Great lights and super easy to set up, only took about 10 minutes and work very well with the app.
You can control on/off, dimming, time schedules for wake up or sleep also for when you are away from home. And great fun to use.
One of my best purchases, using will Alexa is easy.
Great product. Got them on sale so it was a great deal. Works with Alexa and Siri. Cant say any better than that.
Really useful product. Works with every smart app, iOS Home with Siri, Google Home, Echo etc.
This system is THE bees knees when it comes to home lighting, not surprising when they have been going so long.
This stuff works so well with an iphone too, it’s all built directly into the Home Kit app.
an amazing product and excellent,
excellent customer service will always gets other products from Philips
I love the HUE system. It does things that a normal light on a timer doesnt. POP to setup. set the routines and jobs done. can even get it to tie in with nes
Great product and a good price. You can always add bulbs now that you have the hub.
One more step towards the house of tomorrow.
I bought on offer for 35.
Setup with Amazon Echo is simple enough but does take some time.
You can turn lights on and off with a command.
You can set up timers an schedules to automatically switch the bulbs on and odd.
The Hue hub does need to be wired into your network router, it doesn’t support WiFi.
Control these lamps from you mobile, anywhere in the world. I have also linked them to my Echo so I can voice control them.
Get the Hue app and you can set times for them to fade up in the morning or switch on and off as you please. Flipping brilliant!
Best lighting system I have used, easy to setup and high quality
These white lights are amazing. Very low power consumption and variable lighting. I have them timed to switch on and off and fitted into table lamps with a bayonet adapter. Good for our home security. Very good value with the hub included.
Works great. Looking forward to purchasing more hue kit. All of this from someone who thought it was a gimmick.
Works really well with alexa and easy to set up 5*
Expensive but easy to set up. They work perfectly with Amazon Dot. Ive added 2 more bulbs to my set up and all worked well.
Really easy to set up and great starter pack. Once you’ve got these set-up, you want to head down to the shops to buy more bulbs!
Love the technology easy to set up Worth it! This kit!
Works well and good when away from home and need lights on for security
Bought this to dip my toe in smart home tech . I am no techi but found really easy to set up . Easy to use on the app but have also set up on my Amazon Echo and it works brilliantly. Excellent product !
I recommend getting this product works well with the amazon dot five star rating
Using it with Alexa and it works great! It gets some getting used to it but it really helps me when I’m coming into the house carrying bags not really having to look for the light switch for example. (Yes first world problems 😛 )
This is a great starter kit to dip your toe in the water and see if wireless lighting is something you want to implement throughout the house.
Don’t know why this product is getting bad reviews?!
Worked first time, no complaints, amazing product, cant fault it.
Great fun and so practical. Still learning it’s capabilities. So easy to set up and get to work with Alexa and the Echo dot.
Great product and works well, but its a little pricey.
Worked great use them both in my living room, love using Siri to turn the lights on and off.
I have been looking at these for a while and decided to for it….. easy to set-up, easy to install and a joy to use. I have them set-up in the lounge and not even aware when they come on as they slowly dim up……. adding more to other rooms and the outside as they are just so flexible……
Gateway drug of consumer electronics…. You can’t stop at this kit. Before you know it you’re browsing Amazon for ‘Just one more bulb’
Brilliant kit. Works well with iphone, remote, echo dot, ifttt. Can’t ask for more. Wish the strip was as good value…
The Hue bridge is real easy to setup and works like a charm. The link up to my Amazon Echo is also real easy.
