Was a gift for my daughter who’s a baker and she was delighted by it, very versatile and easy to use. Has a grater, juicer, and other useful attachments like a blender.
    Highly recommend it!

I BOUght this to replace an ageing and big food processor (because I have limited storage space) and the Philips Compact fits the bill perfectly. Great range of tools, easy t use and shoes away in much less space than my old one. I haven’t used all of the tools yet (it includes an emulsifier) but I’m sure I will. Really easy to clean as everything can go in the dishwasher. I recommend it.

A great addition to my growing kitchen gear. This blender was a replacement for an old smaller capacity James Martin number that finally gave up the ghost. The larger capacity of the Viva Compact was what I was after. There are only 2 speed settings, and I was a bit disappointed initially as the higher speed still didnt seem to be doing the job. I neednt have worried though as it eventually gets the job done. The unit comes with some handy slicing attachments that perform great. Cleaning is a doddle and the 4 sucker feet hold it firmly in place. The unit on high speed setting is not noisy at all, not even as loud as the expensive kettle used to brew me my 10 cuppa’s every day. Recommended.

I was looking for a mid range food processor and after reading the reviews opted for this one. Completely delighted with it in every way. Build quality is good, versatile and easy to use. Made delicious hummus and love the easy orange juicer. Highly recommend.

Only used once but worked well. Appears well built, sits sturdily with its suction pads doing a good job.

Instructions not easy to follow and as a first time food processor operator it left me a little unsure but got there in the end!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersLove it. I should have bought one years ago instead of struggling with mashing, fine chopping & a mortar and pestle!

Made banana & pineapple smoothie with blender jug – came out perfect.
Made hummus with food processor jug – also came out perfect.

Lightweight, compact, good chopping speed & very easy to clean as blender & processor blade are easily removed. Has 2 speed settings & pulse setting.

Comes with plastic dough blade, plastic emulsifier disc, metal fine slicing/grating disc, plastic juicer attachment that spins & ordinary metal copping blade (sharp!).

Just make sure you have/purchase a rubber spatula as it comes without one. You don’t want to use a metal spoon on the plastic as it’ll scratch.

Overall I fully recommend this product.

Had it for a while now, and I love it. Good power, good speed, various accesories, though I’ve only used the blade 🙂 I chop everything in it, never liked chopping veggies and now Philips does it for me.
I make hummus using it and it’s so smooth and yummy!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI don’t use this. Got for husband, he cooks!!! He has this and that for kitchen. All put to use, says this is a very good little processor. We did look at a few food processors that were compact, and this covered all the bases for our requirements.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat performance and easy of use for the price. Excellent value for money. I have used it for chopping, mixing dough, whisking etc. And its performance well. I have mixed dough for 2lbs baking and surprising the processor handled it quite well.
Just giving 4 stars as it does take sometime to mix to smoothness and also leaves a residue due to gap when slicing and grating.

I use my processor for chopping, gtating, blending, making batter, dough and pastry and it is very good at all these functions. I also like the improved deisgn – the motor transmits through a rotor built into the base of the bowl, which means that there are no leaks from the bowl as used to happen with the old central pillar transmission, when liquid used to escape down the central tube which housed the pillar. It is also easier to clean for this reason. I don’t know how suitable this machine would be for a more advanced or adventurous cook than me, but at my level – plain household cooking, baking and soup making – it is absolutely ideal for my needs.

I love this blender. It’s compact and feels sturdy. Since buying it started Veganuary and this blender helped a lot. I’ve been able to create quick and easy vegan meals and smoothies. I tried the kneading tool but it didn’t work, to be fair I this was because the dough was too wet and I ended up with a sticky mess. The kneader requires practice.

This is a great multi processor but I’m annoyed with it because it simply is a big fiddle to store everything and I don’t have room in my tiny kitchen!
The base unit has a reasonably small footprint on the sideboard, but all the blades, attachments and the liquidiser need somewhere to be and I can’t get it all squeezed in!

That said, the food processor works a dream and makes light work of the chopping and mixing needs I have – the liquidiser blends soups and purees beautifully too.
Powerful enough for a family kitchen too.

Hey presto, instant pesto. Gone are my days of fiddly faffing with a mini chopper to make my favourite pesto – this little beauty whizzed them up in a jiffy – some freshly roasted pine nuts, basil, parmesan, garlic and olive oil – and I turned out delightful pesto in no time. That is obviously only one of the myriad possible dishes one could knock up with this machine. It’s not huge – don’t expect to produce soup to feed a family of six, but for under 100 quid I think this is a tremendous kitchen gadget for smaller catering jobs. It has nice sucky feed which keep it well grounded as you zim up the ingredients, and a whole load of different blades and add-ons – very sharp, TAKE CARE getting it out of the box.

Only one thing this set is missing: a spatula, so some of my batch of pesto had to be scooped out with a finger (after making sure the blades were far away, of course!) But that is a minor gripe, easily rectified.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThere’s a lot to like about this Philips food processor. It is pretty compact but in no way does it feel like performance suffers. I find it works effortlessly in slicing, splicing, chopping, juicing etc. There are multiple speed settings on an easy to use dial, the powered base unit has suction cups underneath for stability and it doesn’t create excessive vibration during use. There are 29 functions and I haven’t come close to using them all so it’s incredibly versatile and also has 6 attachments that can be used. All removable parts are also dishwasher safe making it easy to clean. Overall very happy with it indeed.

The ‘Philips Viva Veggie Food Processor – HR7510/11, 6 Accessories, 29 Functions, 800 W, 2.1 Litres’ is a compact yet multipurpose food processor, specially aimed for use with vegetables (although it works perfectly well with meat and carbohydrate-based items too). It doesn’t take up much room, and performs the functions of a blender, food processor, juicer, smoothie maker and more. It can chop very finely, and has a powerful motor which gets through hard items without complaint. The capacity is almost two litres so it can be used for families, although I suspect it is more aimed at single people and couples due to it doing away with the need to keep separate juicers etc.

Cleaning it is relatively easy (obviously the blades are sharp and great care is needed, as with all such products), and the relevant parts can be put in the dishwasher. It has coped well with everything we’ve asked it to do, and the local charity shop was as pleased with our donations of a juicer and smoothie maker as we are with the extra cupboard space!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving a small kitchen means having kitchen gadgets that don’t take up much room. This new machine from Philips, combining food processor and liquidiser functions is both space saving and multi functional. I particularly liked the fact that the various add-ons are colour coded in sync with the machine so that you are not likely to use the wrong setting when using it. Plain silver and orange are the two colours used. I have used it for making juice, squeezing oranges, and for making soup. It works extremely well in all areas of operation and can be highly recommended.

I do like my kitchen gadgets, some are more novelty and end up never being excitedly tested out but then never really used again, like my pasta making machine, and others like my cake mixer, and my smoothie maker are used often enough to keep them but certainly not daily or even weekly. For me this is a problem because I currently have such a small kitchen and not a lot of space.
I’ve used processors like this before but for the space they took up, they ended up being kept in their boxes and taken out again to use, which is in itself time consuming and means I often just don’t bother and do it manually instead….
I’ve always been impressed with Philips gadgets in the past so I was really excited to try this one out and straight out of the box it looks impressive, stylish, well-designed and really smart. Best of all it has a surprisingly small footprint!
The bowl os strong and really sturdy as I’d the blender jug and they’ve cleverly made the discs two-sided to save on space. The base unit has suckered feet so it stays put whilst in use and the motor is a bit noisy but really powerful, chopping and slicing with ease!
If I only need to slice a couple of things I’d probably still just get my mandolin out but for chopping and slicing a whole load of veg, this is brilliant, and so easy to rinse clean, it made cauliflower rice in seconds, and sliced onions really finely.
The blender is much more powerful than my old one, I can put ice cubes in this one to make iced smoothies and it’s also great for soups. I especially like how the controls are colour-coded to the attachments- what a simple but brilliant idea!!!
This machine really is good enough to replace my old cake mixer, and my definitely my old blender and takes up less room on my counter top so I now have more workspace too!
    Definitely a huge thumbs up!!

I had been wanting a new food processor that included a juicer / blender for ages and have been delighted with this product so far. Easy to use and easy to clean – it’s great for mixing, chopping and blending. I have yet to try making my bread dough – but have every faith it will do the trick. Definitely recommend!

This is a compact but very useful little food processor. The blades are very, very sharp, which is good news for mixing and chopping. Be very, very careful when washing or picking up outside the process. Both of us have managed to cut our fingers in the clearing up and washing process! I have mixed cakes and pastry very successfully in the main bowl. I wasn’t as impressed with the blender which wasn’t as smooth as our Kenwood one in making a mushroom soup and a prawn pate. But it does a reasonable enough job. For the money it is excellent value, and compact to not take up too much space on the worktop. The rubber feet hold it firmly in place when it’s in action. It won’t replace my Magimix workhorse, but I am generally impressed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent processor. Have so far used to make soups, smoothies and ice cream mix and I’m thoroughly impressed. Processing veg and tough fruit is not too much of a problem as the blade is strong and large. Everything is always well mixed and the variable speeds and attachments mean that I have everything I need depending on which ingredients I’m using. Simple to set up right out the box, and also a doddle to clean.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe had it Kenwood food processor for 35 years that just caught fire. This Philips food processor arrived just in time! It is a great size with lots of wonderful accessories that we never had before. We have made great coleslaw, cake mixture and liquidised soup. All effortless. All of the parts are very easy to clean and then store away. I was particularly impressed by the various slicers and shredders. The machine seems very powerful and nice and quiet.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a great food processor, and really does everything you need, and quite a few things you think ‘nah, I’ll never do that’ like making bread dough. A particularly clever idea is colour matching the accessories to the the control knob, so you don’t fall into the trap of running the thing at full speed all the time.

The motor is decently powered and has had no problems with whatever I’ve thrown at it so far. It’s absolutely worth spending the extra this processor costs over cheaper, lower powered, versions. You won’t find this one slowing down or straining away as you overload it, and while you can never have enough power this Philips one certainly gives you enough. The power isn’t much good if you can’t control the thing though, and the suckered feet on this unit keep it rock solid on your work surface.

Everything assembles nice and simply, and comes apart just as well. It’s all dishwasher safe, and very easy to clean – you save nothing in your cooking times if cleaning the thing is a nightmare, and on this Philips it’s not – very quick, and very simple to clean.

It’s a great little unit, and highly recommended. It does everything you could want something like this to do but doesn’t take up half your workspace, has plenty of power, and looks nice and smart too. You can certainly get cheaper food processors but for what you get here and for the price you’d struggle to do better.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have tried quite a few food processors over the years, from noisy vibrating ones with no name to overpriced and underperforming brand names (looking at you Brabantia). I have stuck with Philips, which in my experience produce quiet (relative, of course), reliable and effective food processors.

This new Viva food processor seems to be based on the same design as other Philips models and is a joy to use. It is stable and low noise in operation, everything can go in the dishwasher, and it can be used to blend or chop pretty much anything.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was undecided whether to award this item 4 or 5 stars, but quality and flexibility persuaded me to award the fifth star.

May I say that out of the box, this is a quality item and for those purchasers familiar with the Philips brand, you will be aware that routinely their products are of good quality and reliable. This item is no exception. It is compact and would suit use in the smaller home.

Food processors do help you save time in the kitchen although they don’t do all of the work and so they should be seen as an aid rather than a solution! We use ours routinely to make cakes, dough and what this processor excels at preparing vegetables for salads or soups. My wife has also experimented with making dough for bread, but feels that whilst it is good, for that element the prefers a Kenwood chef: it still produces a good dough mixture though. We have also made smoothies in this just to test it, but again, prefer the magic bullet, although this item is pretty good. I particularly liked the citrus juicing option which works well and all in all demonstrates how flexible in terms of functionality this item is.

The 1.5l bowl is quite large for this type of gadget and therefore is well suited to a family of 4, we are three and it is more than sufficient for our needs. in use, the two speed motor is powerful and no more noisy than any other models we have owned; quiet it isn’t though, particularly when processing root vegetables out of the fridge. The items are easy to clean and although it is dishwasher proof, we find that in common with all of this type of item, it wastes space in the dishwasher and is easy enough to clean by hand and rinse off in running cold water.

All in all a quality item at a reasonable price. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is an excellent quality food processor, which makes light work of your usual food preparation. I have found the chopping, grating and slicing tools particularly useful, as I have had problems with stiffness in the joints on my hands, which makes chopping harder vegetables quite painful and difficult at times. With the various accessories on this, I can use it to do slice, grate, chop and puree, with less effort.

The base unit for this claims to be a smaller footprint, but I would say it is on par with a lot of the current food processors on the market, as they are all trying to save space, so this is not really something to brag about.

There are varied speed settings, with a pulse setting for rapid action. As with most food processors, this is quite noisy when in use.

I would not say this is great value for money, as their are similar food processors available for a little less, but this is good quality and seems very durable.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs Food Processors/Blenders go, this one has everything you need and does exactly what it should very well.

It’s a touch more compact than other blenders on the market but unless you are really making a bulk of something then that’s not a problem at all and it has certainly had more than enough capacity for anything i’ve prepared for my family of four.

Of course, the plus side of it’s compactness is that having a lower profile than other blenders it’s much easier to store.

The suckers secure it to the worktop pretty well, all the attachments fit nicely in the dishwasher and despite it’s small size the motor is pretty powerful.

As mentioned it does have over 30 different functions which is a nice big number but i’ve no idea what they all are and i’ve found I’m only using a handful of different ones!

Overall, not really anything to fault about this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhat a brilliant little processor! I have made cakes, merengues, burgers, grated cheese and vegetables and made smoothies – effortlessly. It’s small and compact so perfect for small kitchens or ones with no storage space. The lead is generous so no having to rearrange worktops to get it near a socket. Perfect little starter machine, my 11 year old has used it with no problem. It’s certainly isn’t an all singing, all dancing machine but does everything a home cook needs. For the price it’s well worth it, would make a great present for someone in their first home.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is another really well designed product from Philips. The compact unit does not take up much space in your kitchen whilst the comprehensive set of accessories make for a really handy and versatile device. It chops, blends, slices, mixes, juices and (apparently) lots of other things too.

In use I found the blades to be very sharp and the motor to be strong. The other attachments, which are mostly made of a strong plastic material, are likewise strong and durable. And all of the bowls and attachments can be washed in the dishwasher and the bits store in the bowls to save space. It is easy to use and easy to clean.

Overall this is a good kitchen gadget. It will perform a lot of tasks which other things do so you may be able to get rid of some other clutter, and it does those tasks well and cleans up easily.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for a smaller countertop food processor this is fab. A few months ago I bought a cheaper model and theres one main difference between the cooks and this Philips version, the cheaper one has less functions but is a great grinder as well as blender. The Philips version is much more high spec.

It can slice and grate veg for you, has a multitude of functions and has an added bonus of suction cups so it’s less likely to move over the worktops when in use.

If you are planning on using the majority of its functions then this is a really get bit of kitchen ki

  46. Marcia Sekhose says:

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s easy to scoff at blurb that tells you that this is designed for people with “hectic lives”; if you’re really too busy (i.e. lazy) to make proper meals at home this won’t convince you otherwise. But if you already do some cooking and are looking for a good food processor, this could be a good bet.

It’s easy to set up and start using. The “power chop” facility means that it’s easy to cut up almost anything and it does have a wide tube so you really can be lazy and do minimal pre-cutting if you really want.

It’s got nearly 30 functions (though apparently only two speeds) but I don’t think you will need to get bogged down in that at all. As it says you can knead, whisk, shred, slice and juice with it and that’s about all you really need to know unless you are Heston Blumenthal.

It’s got a good capacity (I could make soup for the whole working week in one go) and so far has done a pretty good job of everything that I’ve asked it to do.

It’s easy to clean as it’s dishwashable in terms of the accessories that can be removed.

All in all, I think it’s a great food processor that can do a lot of things well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery pleased with this food processor and blender combined. It’s got a smaller footprint than my old food processor. It’s simple to operate and provides all the attachments required for blending soups and milkshakes, mixing pastry and bread dough and chopping vegetables. It’s simple to operate and the attachments can go in the dishwasher. I’ve even discovered it can ‘grate’ cheese. It doesn’t actually come out ‘grated’ but it chops it up very small and it saves on elbow grease doing it manually. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersI was excited to open this product as I have every kitchen gadget under the sun and it looked like this had the potential to condense everything into one.
The packaging alone makes you want to delve straight in and get cooking. From whisking, to slicing, to even kneading bread dough, it shows examples of how it can do it all!
First thing I noticed was the suction pads under the main motor unit. These are nice and strong so the product is stable when in use. The manual is clear and advises you on which speeds to use for each attachment.
The blades are incredibly sharp and the motor is nice and powerful. I very thinly sliced a courgette in a matter of seconds and made broccoli rice in 3 seconds flat! All attachments are dishwasher friendly too, a massive bonus.
It also has a larger feeding tube, which comes in handy when you are cooking for several people, or making a dish in bulk.
There are only 2 very minor downfalls to this product (if you can even call them that). The lid is fairly stiff to remove when you’ve finished, however this may become easier with further use. There is also no spatula included, which I have received with products like this before and it does refer to one in the manual.
Overall, fantastic product and I look forward to seeing what else it can do.

    Great product- several uses
