Will be difficult to empty sand and wate
Very sturdy but no boxes to make it easier to fill and empty sand and water, this will have to happen by shoveling out sand and tipping whole bench to empty water also the colour green is different to picture as its more aqua greeny/blue easy to assembled
A small boy’s dream toy.
My 2 year old grandson loves this sand pit and, when the lid is on, uses it as a table to eat or play on.
Sadly, the water section is only a bag, which is attached with screws making it difficult to empty and clean, and the sand section is lined with a piece of black fabric, which isn’t attached and is easily removed. Without the liner, the sand, when dry, falls between the planks. A couple of sturdy trays would be much more practical for cleaning and storage.
Take your time
Some quick pointers I have while the build is fresh in my head – the first few steps are putting the framework together for the sand and water storage area. I actually lined the 3 cross planks up before screwing to make sure the middle piece fit before I did the end screws.
When fitting the legs to the body, again, do not fully tighten the screws until it is as flat as possible. I thought the legs were going to be wonky but once placed screwed into the table, they straightened out.
The bottom pieces that sit under where the water and sand will go, fit fine for me. I placed them all on the wood before screwing them in.
My set came with 2 bags of the small screws with washers and none of the 50mm screws. Because of this, I didn’t realise until halfway through that there were 2 lengths of the larger sized screws so I had to use some of my own screws that were pretty close matched. I did email Plum and they are sending screws out anyway in case this had happened to someone that didn’t have spares. It would have been annoying to wait but at least they are doing something. Main point here is to check you have the 3 different screw sizes and the bolts before starting.
Lots of fu
Lovely little picnic table that doubles up as a sand water play table. We had issues with water section lining (it leaked) however after contacting the seller they sent the replacement so the after sales care is great !
I think containers for sand and water would be better and cleaner like I’ve seen on some other brands. Good item nonetheless (wear and tear to show its true quality in due course)
Bench
Not easy to assemble at all. Luckily we had a drill so had to drill new holes for each part practically. Everything else was pretty straight forward. The only down fall is that my water bit leaks. So every time my son wants to play I have to keep filling it up. Which is a pain. It is gorgeous though

Both my grandchildren love it, needs to rub down as some of the wood is still a bit rough

A los peques les encanta. Sirve para jugar con agua y con arena a la vez gracias a sus dos compartimientos. Lleva tapa para poder usarla como mesa.

Perfect for cat owners
We have two cats so cant have your usual sandpit. This was the perfect solution as we can hid the sand from the cats and the kids have their own picnic area.

Tip: get some Tarpaulin and fit it to the sandpiy side as the kids will mix it all up the you will get water leaking from the sandpit side
I can definitely recommend it.
My son loves this! It took a little over an hour to assemble and you really need an electric screwdriver (or very big muscles) but he hasn’t been out of it since. I can definitely recommend it.
The only thing I would prefer was that the water and sand had real buckets to go on. That way I could dump or replace with clean water. Instead it is a strong plastic attached thru too many screws. And the sand just goes on a strong well suited fabric. However, my fears that rain water would collect and mildew would form did NOT realize. It is just enough water for them to play with and empty by the end of play! My kids and all the kid’s neighbors looooooooove it! Entertaining for hours!

This is overall a great table. The self assembly did take a while, and I advise having an electronic screw driver, but it is sturdy once put up.
The big drawback though is that there is no way of draining the water side, so it’s really hard to clean it out properly. I wish I hadn’t fitted the waterproof bit, and just got another cloth and made both sides have sand in.

reasons for 4 stars and not 5 – definitely needed an electric screwdriver to put together – would’ve been really hard without.
also the black mesh to stop the sand from falling through the gaps isn’t fixed into place and so keeps moving about.
would definitely recommend this product though – looks lovely in the garden.

Excellent produc
It is exactly what I was expecting. Excellent wood quality, and it smells really nice! My daughter loved it and so did I.
Our children (4 & 3) absolutely love this table. There’s plenty of room for up to 4 children to play comfortably and it’s ideal that it converts to a picnic bench. The table lid protects the sand and water from the elements (and cats!) and it was easier than I’d expected to assemble. My one gripe is that the compartments for the sand and water are not removable so emptying the containers is tricky. I would have preferred a couple of proper trays that could be lifted out for cleaning. But overall we’re really pleased with the purchase. It’s so nice to have a decent looking piece of children’s furniture instead of plastic, and the kids are happy which is what really matters after all.

Sand and water play
This is a robust item which is educational for the children,having separate compartments for the sand and the water. It is also good that it can be covered over when not in use forming a table and keeping small animals out.
We bought this for my wife’s school as the local education are too mean to buy anything. The children (4 to 7) love it and it converts to table so can be used for all sorts afterwards, this is useful as she only has a small classroom. The unit is always inside except on sunny days but would imagine it needs a good re-stain every year to keep it in good condition if it was to stay outside.
Nice idea
Item arrived with one part damaged. Waiting for part to arrive from PLUM direct seeing as marketplace seller REFUSED to help despite paying a lot of money for this item.
Actual item is sturdy (have managed to get it up but making sure not to use the side that is broken), holds a lot of water & sand, my girls love it (age 5 & 12). The only slight disadvantage is there is no easy way to ‘tip’ the water out as the part that holds the water is screwed in. Kids playing ends up with sand in the water so trying to clean this was awkward.
Overall would reccomend highly, and PLUM customer services were fab. Much better value that plastic water/sand pits, can be kept up & used as a picnic bench.
Sandpit Summary
Easy to assemble, the lid fits well – very popular with my daughters. We haven’t got water & sand in it as the sand gets thrown about quite a bit so it would get mixed up with the water.

The sand pit was delivered on time and when put together was a duel useful item,if you want to get your children in the garden order one now,because they are great fun and can also be used as a bench when having a BBQ

Absolutely love this sand pit, it’s really good quality and sturdy, my 3 children love it and it looks far nicer in the garden than the plastic pits I’ve had in the past.
