I am someone that has trained for over 33 years and who goes to the gym regularly, so obviously I am used to good quality kit. As the lockdown does not seem to end anytime soon, I decided to add to my existing weights set with these. I have to say, I was truly impressed with the quality. They come all neatly packed inside a compact box with the additional bar that extends the two dumbells to make a barbell suitable for curls and light weight bench press etc. Just overall, very good kit. The collars come on and off really smoothly and it is actually a real pleasure to train with these dumbells! Great job suppliers! Nice to see someone has gone to the trouble of sourcing a solid product and getting it to market. Not cheap, but well worth the money in my honest opinion!

These dumbbells are amazing and are a lifesaver in so many ways, as stated they are adjustable so you can decide if you as the user wanted more or less weight during your workout, you can also decide if you want a dumbbell or barbell workout so you get a lot of use out of this product.

I bought these in May 2020 when they were 66.99. I notice they are now 199! I love these weights, and they are very versatile. I have used both as individual dumbbells and as a barbell and have found no problems with the set at all. The plates work lose if you bang the dumbbell on the floor, but I would expect this. I just make sure they are tight before each set. The barbell is not that long, so may not be suitable for serious weight lifters. As I am not a serious weight lifter, I am fine with this.
The only downside (other than current price), is that the courier (Royal Mail) refused to deliver the item as it was deemed too heavy. I had to beg the postie to bring it, which he did. I would have expected the seller to use a courier willing to deliver to my door. I would buy again, but not at current prices.

These became available 12 weeks in and actually I’m glad I waited. They are such good quality and I think I’ll be able to expand on them in the future. If I get stronger.

BRILLIANT SET
Low the set! Great price for the weight you get and very sturdy, i use it regularly and it’s easy to swap and change. I just wish it had a weight for the bars so you knew what you’re total was but its still fab
Fine for trying at home
Perfectly adequate for training at home during this lockdown. Easy to change the weights and hard wearing.
My only negative is that as I use it as a bar it doesn’t always feel so solid and sometimes the clips come loose. However this is only a minor quibble.

Lots of weights, ightly short bar but all works well.
Great little home set though maybe too many of the same weights included (I only use half of them). The bar is a little shorter than I’m used to but works great for a little home gym. No issues with the stoppers coming off at all. All comes apart and goes back together very easily.

There are very tiny imperfections like some of the plates is slightly heavier by 20-80 grams which is not an issue, noway you can tell difference. Although all of them is above the weight advertising which is a good thing, the 2.5KG typically are 2.580 etc.
None of them were lower than advertised.
The middle connector I don’t like but I didn’t expect it to like it, it lock securely but there is a movement up and down when using it.
Not an issue at all, it’s very safe.

Considering the price, a very good set of adjustable weight dumbbells. Each bar also comes with rubber washers which help to keep the plates more secure once screwed on. I appreciate that the handles are also slightly moulded to better fit in the hand (instead of just a straight bar with no contours). Has been great to have these during the lockdown, been a lifesaver with the gyms being closed.
If you have used weights in a gym, you will find these weights perfectly familiar. The advantage is that you can vary the amount of weight on each short bar and even use the connecting tube in either of two ways to make them into one barbell. After a few weeks of lockdown, I intend to start with them at about 6kg each and slowly build up through the summer. Only really strong people who want much heavier weights will find them insufficient. They arrive in a small very solid box which is difficult to carry, both for the courier and then yourself, so you need to exercise caution.
If you want to do exercises that require you to swing the weights repeatedly in a lengthwise direction or to twist them while swinging them, then you would probably be better off with fixed dumbbells rather than variable ones like these because with these the ring weights are held in place with a large nut that would work loose with those movements. These are suitable for traditional weight-lifting movements, but you can still find plenty of variety of those movements available. For me they are ideal, but lighter fixed weights would allow those HIIT kinds of exercises more easily.
With gyms closed down, and then the issue of whether air-conditioning is safe when they open up, I think these are life-savers. My previous set lasted decades, but I kept them in the garage and they eventually rusted away. I expect these to outlive me by a long time.

It is suitable for doing many exercises – so far shoulder press, tricep skull crushers narrow grip press etc. It was worked fine for all of them. Really good Quality
As we all are struggling with the corona situation and staying home bodyweigts wasn’t enough. A lot of brands went out of stock and it was really hard to find a good pair of dumbells and bar which did the job. I have never brought any equipments in my life before so I gave this set a chance. The delivery was superb 10/10 I received it within two days and the set itself has a really nice grip and easy to use. Very good quality and worth the money. I am definitely going to maintain my gainz throughout this pandemic.

Great set, I use this for body pump and general weight work.
The only thing missing is a case or stand.
All the weights are small, maximum size is 2.5kg so if you need bigger weights this is not the set for you.
Took 1 star off as everything has risen in price.
Enough to keep me going
Ordered this item with some additional weights once it became clear that my gym wasn’t going to stay open for a while.
My main worry was that the connecting pipe in the middle would be too flimsy, as I’ve used a similarly designed set before. No worries on that side whatsoever! It’s as solid as anything.
My only complaint would probably be that the spinning cuffs holding the weights in place don’t stay tightened enough to stop the discs from wiggling around after a while – so I’m having to tighten them every now and then (although I should add, this never happens fast enough for it to be a safety issue).

Bought this on Friday the moment Boris announced gym closures. Pleased I did after this morning’s workout. I don’t have a lot of room in my living room but managed to get a good leg day in with this set and my bands/tubes.
It’s a good max weight for beginners but I’m certain if I need to go past 20kg you can get heavier plates. It’s cast iron rather than plastic and sand which makes it more robust and it’s comfortable to use. 60 may seem steep, but considering the price of most official gym sets I think you get a good deal.
Overall, a good buy and excellent value for money.

These are great for home use when I can’t get to the gym. My only wish is that they did a 30kg set as the 20kg is not heavy enough for my usual sets. I know I can buy additional weights but at 40 approx for two 10kg weights, I’d be better to get another 20kg set as they are in deal for 49.99

Bought this as I’ve been unable to balance going to the gym, social life & work life. This set is worth the price. You have dumbells & a sturdy barbell to go with it. It is only 20 kg but if you have purchased weights before (like me) that just didn’t meet the mark, you can easily add them to these bars. It is great quality and I have been using them for weaks now. The grips are pretty good as well but I’d recommend using gloves for lifting.

I can’t recommend the PROIRON 20kg Cast Iron Adjustable Dumbbell Set Hand Weight with Solid Dumbbell Handles. I didn’t want to invest in a big set of weights, so these weights were a great compromise. They are heavy enough I’m 6′ 4″ and reasonably fit, and they are more than heavy enough for my needs. The option to split them and make them into dumbbells is a great idea. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Unfortunately weights have become insanely expensive since I last bought them. Lesson: Don’t chuck out old weights. You never know when you will get back into it again. I’m 45 and wish I’d kept my old ones since you can’t get that style or colour anymore. However, these have a nice feature of turning into a barbell. I didn’t think I would bother with that, as it’s not why I get them, but it does work, and is just the right width. Trouble is, 20kg is a little light for a barbell so I need to invest in another 10kg I think.

I’m 45 and wish I’d kept my old ones since you can’t get that style or colour anymore. However, these have a nice feature of turning into a barbell. I didn’t think I would bother with that, as it’s not why I get them, but it does work, and is just the right width. Trouble is, 20kg is a little light for a barbell so I need to invest in another 10kg I think.

I got in touch with the seller and they promptly sent out a replacement, along with the tracking number for that shipment. Currently waiting on it to arrive, but am confident that it will arrive within the time stated.

Great starter weight set, at a great price. I’m very new to weight training and so this set was a comfortable price and had a good amount of weight to work on my form with. I would say though that the 20kg of the title is a bit misleading, as this includes the weight of the bar. The weights in the set add up to 17kg (four 2.5kg, four 1.25kg, four 0.5kg). Now that I have realised its time to slightly increase the weights I’m using for certain exercises it’s a wee bit frustrating to note that if the set had 20kg worth of weights I’d be fine for a good few months yet but as proiron sell more weights I can just invest in more I suppose. All in all I’d recommend this set for beginners like myself.

Solid beginner dumbbells.
The dumbbells come neatly packaged, and to be honest, I was surprised that everything fit in there. However, it was all as described and now visible flaws. After I week of use, I quite like them, the dumbbell bars themselves are pretty comfortable, and the weights are good and sturdy, so are the spinlock collars. I haven’t been using the connecting bar yet; however, when I tried it out, it seemed pretty sturdy.
Overall this product is everything it says it is, nothing more and nothing less. A decent dumbbell system for the price and quality of materials used.

Does not build into a full width barbell
I liked the concept of the adaptability from Dumb to Bar Bell, but unwisely assumed that in barbell mode it would be a full width barbell. As soon as the box arrived I realised that it would be a short bar. So the centre bar is on the short side and the dumbbells (as depicted) do not fully screw home into it. Which leaves an unclean surface to work with – notably the instructions recommend wearing gloves, possibly to offset this issue.
If the manufacturers sold a longer center bar I would buy it.
And yes, as per other posts, the o-rings do ride over the stop shoulders when weights are tightened on. Dimension issue between weight bore diameter and dumbbell shoulders.
It’s still a nicely presented bit of kit though.
Great value
Brilliant little dumbbell set, all well made and solid and the rubber washers stop everything from coming loose or rattling. Like others have said, the the connection bar isn’t very long so doesn’t make it suitable for bench press but I can do shoulder press and a few other exercises. I’m probably going to buy another one for the extra weights as it seems better value than buying them separately
I’m very happy with this dumbbell set… Well worth the money, solid build and very sturdy. Great if you are just starting out, you don’t need to go mad with kit, just look up some dumbbell exercises on Google and work a set of muscles for 30 mins 3 times a week until you build up strength. Do not overtrain at first, let your muscles repair themselves.

I chose the product as it seemed to offer a good combination of the weights I needed with the added flexibility of the extension bar for future use. The weights and bars are compactly packed inside the box and clearly thought has gone into the production of the product. The weights, bars, and locks are all very solid and well made. The extension bar attaches easily to the two smaller bars and the spinlocks lock tight to the weights with a rubber gasket. I have used it for a couple of days now and am very impressed with the quality of product.

I wouldn’t say these weights are cheap but they are very well made and will last my son for years. The spinners make it impossible for the weights to slip off which isn’t the case with some of the cheaper sets and the rubber ‘O’ rings prevent the annoying rattle that you often get.
I like the curve on the handles, makes for a better grip, they look fantastic. working out with 8.25K slightley over 8k on my old vinyl, but seems tougher going maybe my old set not as accurate as stated weight. Sitting on the floor they look so small. Its only when you try and pick them up that you realise how heavy they are compared to how small they look. Finish is really good so pleased I took the pluge and bought them.

Quality seems good, the weights are painted with a grey/black finish. Not sure whether they are chip proof or not but time will tell, they seem ok. Indicated weights are about right
as measured on our digital kitchen scales with most being slightly over by just a few grams. For a non-bodybuilding
person like me they are just the job, 5 stars.

I had been deliberating over getting some DBs because I have a gym membership and thougt it pointless. But then the days of going to the gym were getting fewer and far between yet I still wanted to weight train. So, I got these and am so glad I did. They don’t clang around when doing bicep curls and they are solid! They also tuck away nicely on the bottom shelf. Love the extension bar for hip thrusts. I don’t have a need for 50kg or 100kg type of weights so these are perfect. Plus, if I were to ever lift that level, I’d get myself a proper trainer. In the meantime, I’ll be giving up the membership when it expires and enjoy these workhorses.

Good item, the quality feels alright for the price
Bought this on Monday, received on Thursday. Good item, the quality feels alright for the price. I did not expect the whole barrel to be so short to be honest. Also the ends of the barrel cannot fit all of the weights that are even provided. Nicely economically packed, arrived in a small box. Good product overall.

Very good set of weights and nice hand bars. The connector is fiddly to connect and not long enough to be very useful but it just about does the job, I bought a solid 4ft bar separately to give me a longer bar and some extra weigh

Great little set. I was a little disappointed with the length of the extender bar and I actually don’t use it at all because it’s far too short, however the rest of the set is perfect and very good value for money. I use these every day and have no complaints at all!

If you are buying it primarily for the long bar bell extension you might find it a little short for some exercises but it’s fine for what I need.
I’d read that some plastic weights will lose sand but these are solid metal so will remain the same weight and last longer.
Arrived promptly and well packaged. I bought these over similar sets dude to the rubber grommets on the securing nuts, this certainly goes a long way to help retaining the weights without constant tightening. Also like the conversion bar which allows you to use as a single barbell. Not much to fault here.

The best indoor kit I’ve ever bought. I hate keeping fit so II’m really amazed how much I liked using this! Very well made, looks great, easy to use, very comfortable grips – they never slip. Not sure the extended bar format is wide enough but it’s a nice option.

Great quality product. Very classic looking weight discs, both barbell and dumbbells have a nice textured grip area. My parcel arrived with a pair of collars missing, but seller responded within minutes and sent replacement ( with an extra bar included !) which arrived the next morning! Highly recommended … and would buy from seller again.

Bought these for my spare room as I was turning it into a mini gym and these didn’t disappoint. Great weight to them and the fact that they are Cast Iron and not sand makes them that much more better!! For the price it’s an absolute bargain five stars!!

PROIRON 20kg Cast Iron Adjustable Dumbbell Se
For the past 3-months, I’ve been “trying” to lose weight & get in shape, in fairness it’s been going great.
Now that I’d lost a fair bit, I felt now I needed to up my game (so to speak), and wanted something which wasn’t going to cost me the earth (as it’s still early days), did the usual research (thanks You-Tube lol), and set out my budget, and what I would need (to start off), saw a few items but this product seemed to stick out for me. It seemed to have decent reviews (setting aside complaints for broken or damaged items – it happens), plus thanks to the people here who took the time to provide photos too, I decided to take the plunge.
All I can say is, I’m really glad I did. Really solid build, and the quality is good too, one of the things that “sold” it to me, was the middle “extended bar”, which is a really good idea, but after about a week, I got tired of attaching/ removing this item, so decided to purchase some extra Pro-Iron (Cast Iron) Weight Plates, and a York Fitness Spinlock E-Z Curl Bar (5 kg) with Collars. So now I have a set of Dumbbells, and a Curl-bar.
As said previously, all items are of great quality, and I’ve obviously bought more weights by the same reseller.
Packaging for this item was really good, very compact and well protected, the box it came in is deceptively heavy (due to the small size) so much so the delivery guy asked how such a small item could be this heavy lol.
Anyway, I’m starting to ramble now, all I can say is if you’re in a similar situation as I was, and can’t decide which Dumbell set to buy, you can’t really go wrong with this, as I said I’ve had no problem with this, plus I bought some more weights, if I get to the stage where I move (to a larger place) then it might be that I consider looking at getting a multi-gym, but for now I’m stuck for space, and these do the job. 🙂
