works really well, very portable obviously, and useful. i already had a cordless drill with two batteries so that was covered. the only thing i would say is get these extra blades because they are more meaty and better for cutting wood. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0009W868C

This saw is really effective at pruning big branches, which is the main thing I bought it for. Its very smooth and easy to control while cutting, and cuts quickly. Its very comfortable to use, even in awkward places up a ladder, among the branches of a tree. I feel it has one serious downside, though. While holding it and walking up a ladder I have to be very careful not to let my fingers start to push in the switch and get the saw started. The trigger shape seems to make it very easy to push unintentionally. Some saws I’ve seen have a lock button to stop this happening. That seems safer.

Well made and does the job.

I had lots of wood to cut for storage both tree trunks and joists.

Found getting the blades installed and removed fiddly , but once in use it was fine. Is heavy but rather that than working with a hand saw all day.

What ever you do , fit Bosch sabre blades as they are robust and last.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSolid and sturdy. No issues with the blade release. Came with only one blade, which was a surprise.

Easy and simple to use, if quite weighty but that’s all to the good as you tend to adopt a good stance to hold it. Used for sawing up Victorian floor boards after they were lifted by a carpenter and has made dealing with them much easier.

Takes a little getting used to in use and can kick back a bit but once you’ve got used to that it is a great tool. Buy good blades, though, not cheapies!

This saw is good for all purpose as described. However, extreme care must be taken when using it. You need to reverse the blades for certain jobs when cutting wood so that you can cut away from you.

The saw works well and cuts trough wood fairly quickly.

Saved a few s by buying from Amazon Warehouse, looked unused apart from the packaging and did the job perfectly once I’d bought a new set of blades for cutting through metal.
I wanted a reciprocating saw primarily for cutting through nails when I was taking pallets apart for a garden project, it’s perfect for this. Also I wanted a mains powered unit rather than cordless so I could work throughout the day rather than stopping to change and recharge batteries.
The only negative is the lack of safety cut off. For that, minus one star.

It gets you out of trouble, I find it kind of half way between a chain saw and a hand saw, if that makes sense. I have cut six inch logs using the wood saw blade, and tough metal stove pipe with the metal blade. It’s just a little on the heavy side, or maybe not as balanced as I would like. But otherwise a a very useful tool to have around.

Bought this to cut down some trees in my garden and to do a little DIY, easy to use quick to swap blades over depending upon task like cutting wood or metals.

It does get quite hot though that’s my only criticism.

Very versatile saw, I have used this for cutting shrubs, wood studs, plasterboard and UPVC facia boards. It cuts quickly and easily through these, with the appropriate blade. Like a Jigsaw the blade can bend, so care needed if you need a perfectly square cut. This has already paid for itself in sppeding up the jobs I have used it for over the lastweek.

Arrived quickly couldn’t wait to use it on a small tree stump. Was pretty disappointed when I used the Bosch blade which came in the box it wouldn’t cut melted butter! Was on the verge of sending it back but luckily I’d bought the extra blades which worked a treat. My only other gripe is that it comes in a cardboard box. For a few quid more I’d have preferred a hard case but like most other famous brands they’ve gone downhill in order to maximise profit.

Completed the job with ease, cutting down five 20 foot Cyprus fir trees and the blade is still sharp,
Trimmed then cut down in sections, the saw can get heavy when cutting upwards but cuts with ease a great saw.

I am very happy with the purchase. One thing to improve is that would be great to have it in the case now it’s in the shipment carton which may not last for long. Used it for removal of the tree branches, one 40cm tree, for frame with nails inside- all moves through perfectly. Advice – buy set of different applications ends: plaster, wood with nails , branches, concrete , etc. Saw is powerful enough to cut all

Easy and comfortable to handle with plenty of power. Used first time to cut through steel locking bars on garage door when lock had seized. Like a knife through butter.

Very pleased with the saw, wish I had bought one years ago. It is Great for pruning my hawthorn hedge and conifers. So easy to change the blades. The trigger is range rated from zero to fast depending what you are cutting through. So much safer to use than a chain saw in my opinion.

Very pleased. As a cheaper and easier to manage alternative to a chainsaw this is perfect for what I need – something to saw up logs for firewood, and the odd bit of branch trimming. A bow saw is good exercise, but my shoulders aren’t what they were and after cutting through three or four 4-6″ logs I’m losing interest. This saw makes it easy. There is some vibration, but heavy gloves help and are a sensible idea anyway.

Like any power tool, especially one with a savage and whippy blade, it pays to be thoughtful and sensible about how it’s used. It’ll reward carelessness with a ton of damage in the blink of an eye.

If like me you keep putting off purchases such as this in favour of the good old tried and tested ways of doing things …. STOP.

It may be cheaper – the old way [in this case using a saw or a bow-saw etc…] but I have to admit it’s no way easier. What use to take me a morning to do, ending up with an aching back and sore shoulder now takes less than an hour and only cost’s me pence in electricity! Oh what a fool I was to not buy one sooner.

So if your thinking of getting one, just do it as you’ll be surprised at the time it saves you as well as the backache and chiropractic bills too.

    Enjoy … I am. 🙂

This product is a bit heavier than I thought it would be. Guess to get a powerful cutting machine it requires a bigger heavier motor. Horses for courses. Good product but you need a strong arm, or rather arms if you want to use it for any length if time. But it does the job well.

This is a great reciprocating saw which is relatively light and as you would expect from Bosch, well designed. I have yet to use it in earnest but I’m sure it will perform as expected. My only disappointment would be that only one blade, for wood, was included and a metal blade would have been a nice addition for a minimal cost.

I’m an amateur DIY’er sadly not in the best of health so I have been putting certain jobs ‘off’ due to ill health. I have a lot of wood between 3 and 4 inches thick that I want to cut down for fire wood, sadly there is too much for me to use a traditional manual saw so the wood was potentially going to go to waste. That is until I purchased this electric saw, only used it once (to see if it is suitable) and I’m very impressed. So much so, I might even be tempted to try harder tasks thanks to the ease of using this machine. When the weather warms up, I’ll be getting this task completed with an easy smile on my face, just one word of caution, as with all power tools, you must treat this machine with the respect it deserves and wear appropriate PPE

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought to cut in half lengthwise 2 x 10 feet scaffold boards builders had left.

These were as new, and seriously thick and the saw coped with easily. I did use plenty of oil on the blade and along the wood where cutting and a straight line wasn’t that important as using for frame for a garden shelter I was building.

I know a circular saw would be more suitable but I’m not likely to need one of those for other jobs.

The saw can be dangerous as there is no safety cut out and one is liable to pick it up by the handle and depress the on button, but provided one is careful, this is going to be a really useful tool for all wood cutting including smaller trees where a chain saw is overkill.

Very controllable saw. Have used a 300mm blade to saw logs. Quick and easy and far safer than chainsaw but still needs care supporting and holding wood and use of gloves and goggles. Cuts wet wood well and needs constant pressure on switch which acts as dead mans switch and when released saw stops v. quickly. Quite heavy as needs 2 hands to control so wouldn’t use in a tree or on a ladder. Needs firm ground. Cuts shrubs well from the ground.
