This blanket is the only thing that keeps me from tossing and turning throughout the night! I got the 25lb. One which is quite heavy when I need to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night haha but it is so soft and warm and keeps me still! No more pillows or socks off the edge of the bed when I wake up hahaha. No more waking up in weird positions that destroy my neck and back. The only thing I would improve on are the ties the secure the weight blanket to the outer removable blanket. Would love snaps instead of ties. After three years only One tie had broke off but I’m afraid to the the ties too tight and not be able to get them loose when I go to wash the outer layer.
I bought this for my wife because she had brought it up a couple times after coworkers were mentioning they slept better. We have a king size Sleep Number bed so figured I would get a weighted blanket that fit the whole bed in case I wanted to enjoy it as well. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought it… Apparently I forgot she absolutely, without fail, steals all the blankets leaving me a foot-wide patch of non-blanketed bed to sleep on so I could have gotten away with a smaller size blanket for her.
Anyway, this size was kind of a mistake (for her). She is 5’2″ and on the thinner side so the blanket was a little heavy for her. She wasn’t able to use it because it made her feel claustrophobic and it made it harder to put a pillow over my head in my sleep (denies of course) if I had a couple beers too many (snoring). I inherited the weighted blanket and what a great gift I bought for her. I used it nightly from January through May and probably never slept better in my life. I’m 6’2″ and it fits like a glove. I haven’t experienced any issues with the glass beads piling to one side or the other, no issues with rips or seam tearing or any other issues in general. I can’t wait until Fall when I can use it again.
Pros- I sleep. I sleep much better with this weighted blanket than a regular blanket. I can sleep the whole night with my blanket and not have to freeze or feel like I’m conjuring the demon spawn of Satan from her beauty sleep after she steals all the blankets. Two things I’ve learned over the years… Don’t steal blankets back and don’t put baking flour in her hair dryer. So two of the biggest pros are I sleep better and this blanket alone keeps me warm during the winter.
Cons- I can’t use this during the summer because it’s a warm blanket and I prefer a sheet in the summer so she can keep all the blankets on her 4/5 of the bed.
Would I recommend this? Without a doubt and I have. This has been a great blanket for the cost.
I had a weighted blanket before, but I wanted another one since that one was uncomfortable and too small. So I got this one because of the soft cover and the big size, and I’m so glad I did. The cover is a bit annoying because the weighted part will bunch up weirdly overnight, but it just requires some shaking out to put it back to rights. The cover itself is soft and such a nice texture with those bumps. The zippers are a tad annoying. Just don’t put that end by your face and then the blanket is excellent sensory-wise. The weight feels super good and it’s helped me sleep so much. I’ve had it for a few months now and there’s been no quality issues and the fabrics are all still very soft. If you have a twin bed, I would recommend getting the queen sized blanket, especially if you like pulling your blankets up over your shoulder. I’ve found the queen sized one works perfect on my twin XL, and its not too big for the bed even when I’m not under it/the bed’s made. From my experience, twin sized weighted blanekts end up more like throws. I’d also recommend that if you’re someone who’s looking at weighted blankets for pressure stimming and not just a sleep aid, get a size heavier than they recommend. onces its spread out over you and distributed its not enough when you get the recommended size. for me at 200lbs, I got a 25lbs blanket, and it’s perfect. my old blanket was 20lbs and it wasn’t enough for pressure stimming at all.
I have four kids ages 6-9 yrs old . My 8 year old daughter loves this blanket and it has saved our family from grumpy mornings. She would never sleep in her bed moving from bed to bed because she was afraid of the dark even though she had two night table lamps and sleep noise machine. She could never stop “thinking ” long enough so she could never relax . It was becoming a problem for all the kids due to her creeping into their beds. She would smother herself with dozens of stuffed animals for comfort but nothing worked. She was even taking melatonin 5mg but I don’t want her having to use a pill to relax .The FIRST day we received this blanket she said it felt like a hug. She only left her bed once after that night ! She sleeps through the night all the time now and she is down to only one night light! She even uses it when relaxing on the couch. The beads are great because the weight is evenly distributed. The cover is way to clean . I LOVE this blanket because she wakes up rested ready for the day . And all of us get a great nights rest for it. Thank you
I bought this blanket after my husband decided to claim my other one for himself. I was going to make myself a duvet cover just like the one I bought here and after pricing the material, decided that this was a fantastic value! The duvet cover is exceptionally well made. The ties inside are very secure and long enough to tie. The cover states that you should air dry, but I did dry it on low and removed it about halfway through. I have experienced no issues. The cover is super soft and cuddly.
The blanket itself is very well made and the weight is evenly distributed and the main selling point that I feel you should know is that you don’t hear the inside move around. This is the quietest blanket I’ve ever come in contact with. This is the perfect gift for someone looking for a weighted blanket to help them sleep at night. The corners and sides where the ties connect to the duvet are placed perfectly and are very sturdy and well made. I don’t foresee them being an issue at all for a long time to come. This entire set is very, very well made.
I bought this as I suffer from anxiety and different manias and this really helps me calm down at the end of a very busy and hyperactive day. I also suffer from nerve pain all over as well as lower back issues from aggressive back surgery and this helps calm my nerves and help them to relax and not feel overstimulated. I will definitely buy this blanket set again for myself and others. Two thumbs up for quality and price! The colors are great as well and they set arrived quickly and packaged very well. I feel the set was also exactly as described and exceeded the expectations I had from the description. My husband actually asked if I wanted my old blanket back… I just glared. If he wants this one, he can buy me another one first. Hands down the best set I’ve owned and I will not sleep without it now.
Wow I this blanket.
When I was looking at all the options of weighted blankets available
I knew I wanted
#1 A blanket with a removable cover that was soft and attractive. It just didn’t seem practical to go to a laundromat or dry cleaners to clean a blanket and I’m scared of ruining my washer at home. BOTTOM LINE -This works! Zip off the cover and wash as directed then just zip it right back on. The cover is beautiful (I got the light grey and it’s supper soft).
#2 A weighted blanket on the lighter side. I wanted something I could carry around the house and also sleep with on occasion (they say your really not supposed to sleep with these things cause apparently they work so good at relaxing the body, it can alter your sleep pattern making you sleep longer… anywho, I’m sleeping with mine and since I got the 5 pounds, I’m not sure if it will make that much of a difference.
#3 Something reasonably priced.
So there you have it. This blanket is a winner!
For a long time I toyed with the idea of a weighted blanket thinking I would feel claustrophobic. I have to say I am happy I tried one, it is the best sleep you will ever get and you sleep through the night. I have many instances of waking up at 3 am and using this blanket has helped with that, I sleep through the whole night. This blanket has excellent weight distribution since it is sewn into separate boxes so the glass beads stay in their areas. Also it is so much better to have a glass beaded weighted blanket, if you choose to wash it the beads won’t warp. The cover is super soft. I used this throughout the winter and not once needed an extra blanket, it kept me warm especially with the fuzzy cover. I also purchased the regular cloth cover for the spring, summer and fall. I’ve used the blanket every night for four months and it’s amazing, I highly recommend getting one!
I started working graveyard shift 4 months ago and was having a hard time getting on a sleep schedule. Some days I was only getting 2 hours of sleep and a lot of tossing and turning. I did some research and decided to try a weighted blanket. I read through tons of reviews on all the other blankets but eventually settled on this one since it came with a cover. This blanket has literally changed my life! There is nothing I would change about it. It is pretty and soft and the color is a light soft grey–and I CAN SLEEP! I have been using it for 3 months now and it still looks as good as it did when I pulled it out of the box. I have 3 cats who like to lay on my bed so I fold it down when I make my bed every day–but it’s not a cat hair magnet at all anyway.
I really can’t say enough good things about this blanket–It really works!
Short version: This took some getting used to, but I’m really liking it. Amazing customer service…they helped my inexperienced self.
Longer: So I got 1 of these on a whim at Christmas, knowing very little about weighted blankets. This one came highly reviewed, so I took a chance on a 20 lb. (I’m 6’1″, 230). It was too heavy. I swear it almost hurt to sleep under it. I realized really quick that it wasn’t for me. I contacted Quility, and they worked with me at every turn. I ended up exchanging it for a 12 lb, and I have really enjoyed it. Top notch help.
Quality – This is a really well-made blanket. When I realized I didn’t like the 20 lb, I still recognized the quality of this blanket. The cover felt great. The weight distribution was good, and the ability to remove the top cover was a huge plus.
Weight – I don’t know what to suggest here. I feel that it’s really subjective to who is under the blanket, really. The 20 lb wasn’t for me, but the 12 has been nice.
If you know you want a weighted blanket, this is an awesome one to consider.
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. I myself don’t really want one as (a) I have a waterbed which doesn’t need the extra weight, and (b) I have back troubles which seem likely to be aggravated if I were ‘held in place’ by excess weight while sleeping. I, however, have no scientific studies to back those possibilities; just intuition. The package itself was very heavy; the postal delivery person only carried it half-way up the driveway before abandoning it near our shrubbery. I didn’t really blame him/her. Nonetheless, this was what my daughter wanted and it seems perfect for her needs. She was particularly pleased to find it in the Queen size that fits her bed. Communication with the seller was excellent and I was amazed and couldn’t-help-but-be-pleased by their resolution to the one minor problem we had. Excellent customer service!
I bought this blanket as I was having some difficulty in sleeping along with some anxiety because of today’s world. It arrived and I was extremely pleased with it. It took some time to adjust to having so much weight on me while I slept, but I was finally getting some sleep. What I’ve noticed is that the duvet cover is attached to the blanket through simply tying a knot along various points on the blanket itself. The blanket is so heavy that when you grab the blanket to simply throw on yourself or even to fold it in the morning, the fabric used to make the knots are breaking, which makes the blanket uneven and doesn’t look as pretty as it did when it first arrived. I figured that this is normal wear and tear, although this began to happen within a number of weeks. I decided to get on the website and look for an additional duvet cover in various colors. To my surprise, I am not able to order additional duvet covers. I’ve sent multiple inquiries via email and on their social media platforms and no one has gotten back to me at all. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
STOP LOOKING!! You have just found THE BEST WEIGHTED BLANKET & it’s QUILITY BRAND!!
This weighted blanket IS incredible, not only for the “warmth without bulk” that it provides, but the sheer quality & beauty of this product!
I’m so glad I did my research before purchasing a weighted blanket because now I know I chose a winner! One of the reasons I know this, is by comparing my recently purchased QUILITY premium 15lb weighted blanket to another weighted blanket I saw at a well known store in town. The weighted blanket at the store reminded me of a “limpy bean bag blanket” & it had none of the fine features that my QUILITY blanket has & the box store weighted blanket cost twice as much! QUILITY WEIGHTED BLANKETS are easy to work with & they fold beautifully. AND the softness of a QUILITY weighted blanket is amazing!!
Since my first purchase of a QUILITY weighted blanket back in 2019, I have recommended these blankets to my friends & family as well as buying four additional QUILITY blankets for my children beds!
I would suggest that you order the right blanket size per bed size & buy a size up if in doubt as you want to make sure that the blanket will hang over the sides of the bed evenly. It is also important to follow weight chart provided.
I am so impressed with my QUILITY weighted blankets!!
Living in northern Indiana, I find the 12llb blanket is perfect in the summer with AC & the 15lb blanket in the winter has cut the need for piles of other blankets!
I’m so glad I chose a QUILITY brand weighted blanket AND I’ve found QUILITY CUSTOMER SERVICE is as AWESOME as their weighted blankets!!!
I am one HAPPY QUILITY BRAND customer!!
I purchased this blanket for Christmas 2020. I have heard many things about weighted blankets and wanted to give this one a try. I am a big buy, and purchased the 20lb blanket. I have to say I feel extremely comfortable with the blanket throughout the night. I will say it has cut down on my overall restlessness, however has not stopped it all together. My wife is not in favor of using the blanket so at times it falls from the bed as it get pulled down from the weight as well as the positioning of it on the bed. Overall it is very comfortable. I do feel that some of the weights shift toward the ends of the blanket, again this could be how it is positioned on the bed while in use. The only drawback to me is that I do get hot under this from time to time, it is not a quick throw of the covers given its weight, Very pleased overall and happy with the purchase.
Edit so I should have done this edit a while ago I’m kind of forgot about it after receiving the blanket as stated below it was not as advertised however manufacturer provided me with a complete refund and allowed me to keep the blanket as well so I ended up giving it to someone that can use it
For now it gets a one-star I contacted support and depending on how that goes ready may change. That said is advertised as being cotton it is not at all it is an outer shell and an inner blanket which is the weighted part the outer shell is 100% polyester and the internal is if I remember correctly a polyester nylon type material so that doesn’t even have cotton in it the bees inside or glass so they definitely don’t have cotton in them I’m allergic to all the materials this is made of but if the outer shell is made of cotton I should be able to use it. However what they sent me that is not the case so now I wai
I had heart surgery to fix a congenital heart defect with a mechanical aortic valve a year ago and have struggled to sleep since then due to the loud ticking and being able to feel each heart beat vibrating in my body. As I work on hacking my sleep to make my life better, a weighted blanked was recommended to me. I picked this one for the removable, washable cover and other reviews.
I noticed an immediate improvement that lasted for several weeks. I was able to fall asleep MUCH faster and was not so intently focused on my annoyance (hate) of everything related to this valve (except you know, that it keeps me alive). Over a couple of months I had a reduction of 1-3x week of not being able to fall asleep for over 1 hour down to 2-3x a month. I bought this one as winter was coming so I was not concerned about overheating. I find it does not make me as hot as I worried it would – though this will not work in summer and I may consider a bamboo version later.
Overall, as part of several things I have done to improve my ability to fall asleep (no issues staying asleep) this has had a very positive impact. It is not a “cure” but I am super happy with my decision to purchase this item. I find the weight (15lb) to be perfectly comfortable. Good luck!
My 4 year old son is afraid of the dark. He won’t sleep alone and he will wake up in the middle of the night crying. Every single night. We thought about buys a weighed blanket for a while but never got around to it. Let me tell you. We have had this blanket for a week now and he has sleep all night for the past week. No more being afraid, no more crying in the middle of the night, no more tears at bed time, no more fights, no more running to mommy’s bed in the middle of the night, and no more restless nights for me.
He doesn’t do well at sleep overs. But let me tell you. We sent this blanket with him to a sleep over and they said he slept all night with no problems.
If you are a struggle parent whos tried all the bed time tricks and failed. Try this one.
We told him it was a magic blanket that hugs him so tight and keeps him safe, we say a prayer and then its good night.
Helps him to feel safe, warm, and secure. He loves it and so do I. Its very soft, cool to the touch, and easy to clean. Just unzip the cover and toss it in the wash.
This is my third blanket from this company and I love both the blankets and the customer service. I have a 4 yo son who loves the 7lb and a 6yo daughter with the 10lb. I have the 15lb. They are so incredibly soft with their minky cover. Both kids are super tactile and LOVE soft items. This is perfect for them and helps them soothe themselves before bed. They call it their “big hug” blanket. The interior blanket that holds the weighted beads are sectioned off so they all don’t pool to one side. The blanket is also secured inside to the cover so it also doesn’t move around. After purchasing the first one the blanket wrapping had a coupon code. I tried to enter it for the next blankets but for some reason it wouldn’t take. I messaged the company and they personally gave me back the coupon refund. It was great. I highly recommend.
Given that a weighted blanket is meant to be around 10% of your body weight, I could have gone with the 20-lb. option as well. But the 15-lb. is perfect for me! Soothing, warm, and the minky cover is as soft as you could possibly want. The only thing I’ve noticed that was anything less than perfection with this is how difficult it is to get it back inside the cover after washing. But the same is true for any blanket of a duvet style, so that is nothing to worry about. This purchase has improved my sleep quality dramatically, and I could not love it more. The company is legitimately the best for this type of blanket, and they take care of their customers. If you’re looking for a reason to pull the trigger on a purchase, look no further. This is the best!
We started with one, I though my teens could take turns trying it out to see if it helped them sleep as recommended by their Dr. as a natural method. These are anxious times, even for our young ones. It helped so much that there was no giving it up once it was on the bed…so I bought another. For our family these blankets have made a huge difference. Sleep is so important for our health! Highly recommend!!
I bought the weighted blanket for my recommended weight based on how much I weigh. The 20 pound blank was just too much for my own personal preference. I heard some people say to even get heavier than what was recommended, but glad I did not go with that recommendation. I tried using it for a month but I found out that I was tossing and turning more than not using it. I was up a lot struggling with the blanket. However I gave this blanket to my brother who had a lighter weighted blanket and he absolutely loves this one! So it really comes down to personal preference. He gave me his lighter blanket which I preferred better. As far as the quality of of this blanket, it is wonderful. The weight was distributed evenly. Well stitch. Seems to be wonderfully made. High-quality.
I purchased the 60×80 20lb for my adult son who is 5’10” 170 pounds. I went up in weight from the chart. My son has major sleep issues (not sleeping enough, getting up multiple times during the night). It took a few days for my son to get use to the weight. He never had any issues with it generating too much heat. He tends to be cold and I keep my house cold so that may also be a factor here. After just a few days I will say that he is sleeping longer. He reports that his sleep feels deeper and he does not feel tired during the day. I will say that he seems more emotionally ready to deal with things during the day and I think it is simply because he is sleeping longer and better. He is happy. I am happy — Woot! Woot!
Additional pros:
Blanket was weight and size it was supposed to be
Washable cover — Washed it before using and it showed no sign of wear
Even weight distribution of beads
I have always had trouble sleeping and wanted to give a weighted blanket a try. This blanket had high ratings, so I gave it a shot. To be honest the first couple of nights using it felt like I was wrestling a gorilla. My body did not want to give up the tossing and turning habit. Over time, these are the qualities I have come to appreciate:
1. The cover is very soft and nice. I don’t usually like fuzzy things on my skin, but this I like.
2. The blanket is not too hot in the summer, but in the winter, seems to help hold in the heat from my mattress warmer, which is nice.
3. Some nights I sleep all the way through, which is a miracle to me.
I think I got mine too heavy. If I were to buy again, I would get a lighter one. I bought 15 lbs and I am a heavy person.
Overall, I would not give it up.
I have had this blanket for 2 years and love it. I have NEVER had beads shift or ties holding the cover in place come undone. I bought the 15lb 48×72. I am about 150lbs and it works great. The weight is perfect and I sleep so much better since buying this blanket. The fabric on the cover is SO soft and snuggly. It really is like getting a great big hug from a blanket. Absolutely love it. I am going to be buying a smaller one to snuggle under when I watch TV.
The only down points I have experienced are sometimes it is too much weight for my feet, but they are always cold and I want them covered so i li e with it The other issue is that I went overboard on the size, my husband is always hot so the blanket is only on my side, sometimes it hangs too far off my side then slides off. And I also wish I could have the comfort of the weight in the summer, but it just gets too toasty in summer months. These are all issues that would true of any weighted blanket, hopefully the insight helps future buyers. I definitely recommend this one!!
Oh my goodness!!! I have bought many weighted blankets. Several for my kids and several for myself…they don’t hold up well to cleaning. Some say not to wash and dry them, which just leaves a dry cleaner if you want to get it clean. I don’t want to spend more than I paid for my blankets to get them clean!! So I finally found this little jewel, and I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before! Removable covers! I can wash the cover and slip it back on. And this one is so amazingly soft! It’s the best of both worlds: buttery-soft minky blanket meets weighted comfort. This blanket has near perfect weight distribution and sleeps like a dream! I so wish I’d found this one eons ago!!
Soo, I usually don’t do reviews, I maybe have done one over the last 15 years, (I do not know why? because I typically read and read reviews from everyone else before I buy something. I really appreciate being able to know the personal experiences, likes and dislikes that people have with different products before I buy.
I was so impressed with this product, I wanted to share with others our experience. I had never used a weighted blanket before, I thought I may get claustrophobic or too Hot….just the OPPOSITE!.
We are all sleeping more sound, have a lot less tossing and turning and do Not get too warm (which is saying something for my husband, who typically sweats all night lol) After my daughter tried to steal ours :), I bought one for her, now she does not have to have 10 different blankets on her bed. The removable minky cover came already on and is perfect, can just unzip if you need to wash or change it. I bought the navy blue color for both of our blankets, its is a beautiful, vibrant color. I plan to purchase one for my parents next.
I also LOVE that it is made and manufactured by a US company!!
holy s-word batman!! this thing is way too heavy, lol… i’m in electrician, i work with my hands, I’m an old fart and so I’ve got carpal tunnel in my wrists and arthritis in my knuckles so it’s difficult to move this friggin thing in the middle of the night…. But I do think it’s fantastic. The issue brought up by other posters about it being too heavy for your feet is true I do poke my feet out from underneath the bottom of the blanket but they are still under the sheets. There is truth to the weight of the blanket making you feel cozy I’ve had the best nights sleep since I purchased it. I have suffered from insomnia for many many years. I use other techniques/suppliments besides use this blanket. It is 1/5 of my new sleeping regime and helps tremendously. 15lbs is probably better…My wife had purchased a 15 pounder for me however it was not a king size. So I went with the 30 pound king size and I’m laughing at myself don’t be me get a 15 pounder and you’ll be stoked
I LOVE this company! I ordered a 30 lb weigbted blanket. It is WAAAAAAAY too heavy for my body even though I’m 300 lbs and my husband and I make 600 lbs together. Its still too heavy. And this company was so responsive and helped to fix our issue with no problems. We aimed to return and exchange for a lighter weigh blanket like 10 or 15 lbs, but they just replaced it with another of our choice and let us keep the heavier one as a gift. 25 stars! 100 stars if i could. Excellent experience. I WILL buy from then again in the future! When they have a king or queen size blanket in the pink? At 10 or 15 lbs? I’ll be buying it! As quickly as I can!
I’ve had mental health challenges with MAJOR TROUBLE sleeping in this terrible time of 2020 and missed the return delivery window by a day!
And they had no issues still working to help me get what I needed. True company that truly cares. I’ve never been more appreciative. I csnt wait to sleep ANOTHER NIGHT with this wonderful soft and perfectly weighted 15 lb blanket. 🙂
My husband has suffered from poor sleep habits for some time and had read about the benefits of weighted blankets. So we wanted to give one a try. We searched through the many choices and decided on this blanket for several reasons. One – I always read reviews for products and this seller and the item were both highly rated. I also loved that the insert came inside the blanket. While it is not hard to do, it is time consuming and doing this step for the customer was an added bonus. This seller also has outstanding and substantial information listed on the item description – suggested weights for use, etc. We went with the heaviest weight (25 lb) since it was for both of us and on a queen bed. It is has been great and we love the blanket. The blanket was very heavy when it arrived folded up in the box – but on the bed the weight is dispersed. We have not had any problem with the beads shifting or coming out. The quality of the insert and the cover are very good too. I loved the color options as well – we went with the teal color. Also nice is the texture on the cover – the little nubs. Kind of retro-looking, but I like the texture! My husband really likes the weight and finds it very comforting. While I have not had sleep issues, I still enjoy the weight of this blanket at night. We live in the Pacific Northwest so getting overheated is not an issue for us – our nights are on the cooler side. All in all, we are very pleased with this product and its performance.
I recently purchased the large 20 lbs weighted blanket for my Mom how has had nervous breakdowns and suffers from anxiety attacks. She also suffers from restless leg syndrome. Sleeping was becoming difficult for her as she couldn’t reach the REM/deep sleep phase and was constantly restless. I purchased the 20lb blanket based on the individual weight guidelines. When the blanket arrived I thought it was going to be way too heavy for her at first. But once the blanket is placed and situated the weight distribution evened out and worked perfectly. Mom’s first time using the blanket was like a totally relief to her. First solid rest she has had in many months. Now she doesn’t think about resting under any other blanket. It’s become her security and relaxation. And it’s done wonders for her restless leg syndrome. It’s reduced the constant throbbing and aching so much that she feels more energized. This blanket was a gold mine find and I’m extremely pleased with the results.
I purchased the full size 12lb for myself and I weigh about 115lb. I feel like this is an accurate weight for me, but now that I’ve gotten used to it I may want to try the 15 lb in the future. I’ve always wondered if weighted blankets help with anxiety at night, and it DEFINITELY does! I feel so comfortable and fall asleep much faster now. I specifically picked this brand due to pricing and I wanted a blanket that had a soft cover, which the cover that comes with this blanket is very soft and comfortable to snuggle up with! I have had to remove the cover to wash and I didn’t have any trouble getting the weighted blanket part back inside the cover, just have to make sure all sides of the cover are re-tied to the blanket itself on the inside to keep the blanket from sliding around. I highly recommend this blanket due to the reasonable price, the material is super soft, it has improved my comfort at night, and is easy to clean if needed. I also have to fight my dogs for the blanket! They instantly crawled under the first night using it and still do every night. I will definitely buy from this company again when needed.
So, this was the first weighted blanket I ever bought. Little did I know I would buy 3 more so everyone could have their OWN instead of taking mine! The price was a little on the high side compared to others but I went based on reviews and I’m so glad I did. I didn’t realize just how nice this blanket was until I decided to cheap out and get two more from a different seller. Much cheaper, and looked identical so it must be the same, right? (The 4th blanket I got from Quility. I couldn’t stand the cheap ones…)
You get what you pay for. The Quility blankets have better stitching and the duvet feels a little heavier. The zipper is well hidden. The blanket is QUIET. To me, that was the biggest thing bc I am a light sleeper. The cheaper blankets are audible, so when you move them you can hear the beads “spilling” into another part of the segment.
Haven’t had any issues with any beads busting out of the blanket itself.
This blanket is a game changer. Combine that with a heated mattress pad and I am OUT.
We had always wanted to get a weighted blanket (for our bedroom) and did major research on the styles, weights, sellers/manufacturers and came across this one which had VERY high reviews. We decided to purchase the Quility Premium Adult Weighted Blanket & Removable Cover – 25 lbs – 86″x92″ – for Individual or Couples Between 170-230 lbs – Queen Size Bed – Premium in the teal color. We could not have asked for a better blanket. It did take a little getting used to, but my husband and I share it on our queen sized bed and it has helped us sleep better through the night. So much so that I even purchased the navy blue smaller size for downstairs on the couch for when we fall asleep watching tv;). We have not had to take it apart to wash it yet so I cannot attest to that but so far the quality has held up (we always have issues with our comforter insert moving around inside the duvet and have not had issues like that with this weighted blanket to date. If you are on the fence about purchasing one, I will say this one is definitely worth the money. As for the teal color, it is a true light blue/green teal (almost aqua) color. Very pretty.
I bought this blanket because I had been having trouble falling asleep, on and off, for the last year. I’d try to go to bed around 11pm and sometimes couldn’t fall asleep until 6am. This blanket seemed to have a lot of good reviews, so I decided on this brand. I bought the 86″x92″ 20 lbs in grey.
I’ve been using this for almost two weeks now and have had no issues falling asleep at all. I fall asleep fast and I think it actually makes me sleepier faster. I’ve found that I don’t toss and turn as much in my sleep because it is so heavy.
The minky cover is incredibly soft. It does get hot because it’s middle of summer. But I sleep with fans for white noise and keep my AC unit low, so I sleep pretty comfortable unless it gets up to 90 degrees when my AC has a hard time keeping up. It should be really great for the cold MN winters.
The size is perfect for a queen sized bed, it hangs far enough over the edge to keep the room looking nice during the day when I’m not using the blanket.
It’s important to note for people who are looking for a weighted blanket and have never used one, as I hadn’t either. The blanket actually doesn’t feel heavy once you’re under the blanket, unless you try moving around. It really just feels like a comforting hug.
I definitely recommend this blanket!
So far: Trying to be as thorough as I can, because longer reviews helped answer my questions and helped me make this great decision!!
So I had to hop on here and share the good news! After ONE night, I LOVE this blanket! I got the biggest sized, grey (I guess King) blanket. It hangs down pretty low on my full sized bed, so I’d say it would probably fit a queen just right. As far as a king mattress (especially the taller ones), I can’t vouch for that, especially if you’re sharing the blanket with a partner.
As far as weight goes, I am 185 lbs and the blanket I bought is 20 lbs. When I first got under it, it felt a little heavy on my chest, I got a little worried and thought maybe I should’ve got the 15 lb blanket.
Mostly because I can be a back or side sleeper, but typically a side sleeper. But I decided to be patient because other reviews said it takes time to adjust to it.
Well let me tell you, it took a whole 30 minutes and I was in Heaven! I rolled over to my side and felt the amazing sensation of a “warm hug.” I live in the south, so a hot blanket doesn’t sound appealing at all. We keep our house at 67′ F at night and I have a few fans on in my room and I had no issues with overheating. I also have a memory foam mattress topper on my bed and a comforter and I didn’t find it to be too warm. It was a tad warm, but not uncomfortable.
I have yet to find any loose, glass beads rolling around either. Haven’t washed it yet, but I plan on washing it gently and as instructed by the manufacturer. The color seems to be as true as the picture and could definitely be used as the main cover on the bed with regular sheets underneath.
I set mine up with jersey t-shirt sheets, weighted blanket, and soon to come a new quilt/coverlet.
I tend to have more anxiety/depression in the evenings and right before I sleep, and this really made me feel safe and relaxed. And to those of you that struggle with that as well, you can appreciate anything that helps enhance your quality of life on a day to day basis.
I had looked into this before, but held back because I worried about being hot and paying a little more money than I’d like, but it’s SO worth having a better night’s sleep. A good night’s sleep is truly so so important because it really improves productivity, happiness, appetite, energy, etc.
And I took a LOT of time to comb through the good and bad reviews, and the good ones definitely outweighed the bad! So so happy with my decision, just hoping it continues to enhance my nights!
So if you’re in doubt, like I was, don’t be this blanket is DEFINITELY worth a try!
I am absolutely in love with this blanket. I researched many types of blankets and finally landed on this one for a few reasons:
– the cost (it’s much more affordable than others I saw)
-the soft cover (I loved that the cover is removable for an easier wash, and it’s SO soft!)
– because of the cost I was able to get a bigger, heavier blanket and it still be affordable.
I sleep so much better with this blanket- the weight helps with restless legs and getting comfortable, anxiety, and better sleep throughout the night too (before this I would wake up several times each night. I still wake up sometimes but it is not nearly as much as before). It also comes in a nice bag that can be kept and carried if you need to travel with it…I kept the bag for when I moved and it fit right back into the bag too! (sometimes you can’t shove them back in to save your life, lol)
The only somewhat negative aspect I would mention is that after a while, the blanket kind of moves inside of the cover so the weight distribution isn’t as great as when I got it. I’m sure it’s an easy fix but I just haven’t tried to fix that yet.
Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about this blanket. I’m so thankful I invested in it. I would definitely recommend this, and have already!
Simply put, this is a very nice weighted blanket. Good for anxiety and people who have trouble sleeping.
One thing to keep in mind is that this blanket is, well, weighted. It is heavy, as it is a weighted blanket. That being said, please keep this away from any sharp corners, as the weight of the blanket itself will cause it to get snagged and possibly rip. Also, the weight is evenly distributed when spread out. Not doing so will make you end up with the weight of a small child concentrated on your chest. All of this is not the fault of the product, but simply people misunderstanding how gravity and mass work.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the weighted inner padding is actually very thicc, and as such, it’s really good at keeping the heat in, and also somewhat works as soundproofing as a result (when used for a blanket fort). It actually might be a bit too good at keeping the heat in, as eventually, it does get quite hot under the covers when it’s about 70 F outside. As a final warning, please be wary of flatulence with this blanket, as any passing wind will become trapped for seven days and seven nights.
All things considered, this blanket is a must-have for late nights on the couch or just to use as a better blanket for the bed. 11/10, hands down, regular throw blankets eat your heart out.
Great weighted blanket! My husband bought me a king size before this one (different brand) and it was awful. You couldn’t get the ties through the loops and it was just too large and heavy to work with.
We bought this full size this time and it has large ties and loops. I have no trouble putting the blanket in the cover or taking it out for washing. The cover is soft and warm (great for winter) and I plan on buying the cotton ones for summer.
After mine came we had to buy my husband one as well because he was so jealous of mine So yes, we have two full size blankets on our king size bed and I couldn’t care less! It bugs some people that we didn’t buy two twins but I love the extra blanket even if they overlap when making the bed.
Only downside is sometimes the ties come untied and you have to fix or the weight distribution gets messed up. This is mainly because I tie the loops in bows and not knots (easier to gets bows out for washing so I deal with it).
Was it pricey? Yes, but the quality is worth it to us, it’s the only blanket we sleep use!
Lol, it’s asking me about “lightweight”! For a 20lb weighted blanket, there’s nothing ‘light’ about it!
After my daughter received a 12lb Quility weighted blanket for Christmas this past year, and couldn’t sleep without it, I had to have one. We both suffer from anxiety and nightmares. Her blanket has brought her so much comfort and joy!
However, the materials don’t overheat the body, the blanket lays across my body in such a way that during the night when I toss and turn, it doesn’t slide off of my body or bed. Regular quilts slide off one side of the bed for me. This blanket has been so amazing. I never want to go back to a regular blanket or quilt again. EVER. I have been sleeping so much better at night, and haven’t tossed or turned as much either. I haven’t had a nightmare since I’ve started using this blanket. It is the most comfortable blanket ever. Even my cat prefers it over other blankets. It’s heavy enough that I do struggle to carry it to the couch when I want to snuggle up in front of the tv, and I struggle to get it back on the bed straight, but oh so worth the small struggles.
6 month review of blanket. 1) it is warm. However, I was using it with an original tempurpedic bed and the heat from bed and then blanket (without cover) was about unbearable, even in a 66 degree room. A month ago, I got a new memory foam mattress and heat is gone. I can get warm, but not like the bad combo. I have a sleep disorder so I thrash around at night. The blanket has helped a lot! I also was one to wrap myself in blankets to avoid drafts, and this blanket solves that too. When I turn on my side, I sometimes hear the beads shift as they settle in one side or the other. I don’t think it ruins the weighting, it weighs blanket down like tent pegs (maybe smaller quilting boxes would have helped, but may make blanket stiffer) The last two weeks, I’ve decided to double the lower portion on my calves to see if the increased weight would help provide some compression and decrease lower leg movements. My Fitbit shows a marked decrease in waking periods. It would be awesome to offer a graduated weight blanket for people like me! I decided to re-buy this for my mom (has restless legs). But I noticed the buying chart is wrong. In my Amazon-prime-day haste, I used the body weight chart to purchase. The charts math is wrong. A 160 pound person with 10-12% weight, would be a 16-19 pound blanket. The chart says 15 pound. I may have lucked out because I bought the single size as I thought weighing down entire bed was a waste. But the chart being wrong, might explain why doubling blanket seemed to really acheive what I wanted. I can’t imagine if I had bought the queen size in 15 pounds I would have written a positive review and had same good results.
I bought this mainly for my wife but it goes on our king size bed. We both like it overall but do have some major gripes with the product.
The first problem is the weight. I went to their website to figure out which weight to get. We are both in the same weight category and got the 20 pound blanket per their advice. I heard some people say they cannot lift their blankets off them to get out of bed and that made me afraid of going up in weight. That said I feel like I have slept under quilts that provide more pressure than this blanket. I 100% would have been happier going up a weight class for this blanket.
The second gripe is the temperature of this blanket. I heard people say that it’s not that warm which is one reason why I got it. For me to be comfortable under this blanket I need to have our room at least 5 degrees colder than with our other blanket. Most nights it ends up off of both of us because it is just too hot. Maybe if you don’t have heat in your house or live at the North Pole it’s fine but for our house it’s almost unbearable. If I don’t kick the blanket off I wake up sweaty. We can’t really turn the heat down that much since we have children.
Thank you
Headline says it all! It would be easier to describe everything wrong with this blanket than the positives, as the benefits are endless! After extensive research (… and I mean extensive… ), this was a life saving purchase for me. I’ve struggled with insomnia for nearly 2 years, and it wasn’t until after I started sleeping with this blanket did I finally get a solid nights sleep! AMEN!
I purchased the 86″x92″, 20lb for my queen size bed. I’ve been sleeping with it now for 2 weeks and can honestly say I’ve never slept so well in years! I fall asleep almost immediately. No more tossing and turning. I thought it would be too hot, but haven’t experienced any discomfort in that area. It truly is like being hugged to sleep. Even if needing to wake up in the middle of the night, falling back to sleep is effortless!
Why do I recommend this blanket over all others?
1. I purchased this one, not for the thousands of positive reviews, (though I understand why there are so many positive reviews on this blanket), but for the benefits my research taught me. This blanket comes with the preferred glass beads, (not the plastic beads).
2. This blanket does not shift in weight. The very small glass beads are truly undetectable, and stays evenly distributed throughout the entire blanket.
3. It has no chemical odor as some complaints I read about other branded weighted blankets.
4. I love that it comes with an attractive, detachable, washable, duvet cover.
5. True that this blanket is heavy, especially when taking out of the package and putting on your bed, but not the case after the blanket is evenly distributed over the bed.
6. This blanket is priced slightly higher than some, but don’t be fooled. You get what you pay for! The amazon instant off coupon of $50 made this size blanket extremely competitive with other brands.
I’ve read that if sleeping alone, you should not buy one any larger than the surface dimension of your size bed. This suggestion is definitely recommended. In fact, I’d recommend going one size dimension smaller. It is true, because the weight of the blanket, throughout the night, if the blanket slips off the corner, because of the weight of the blanket, it will eventually slip off the entire bed. Purchasing a smaller dimension blanket will avoid this. However, I purchased the larger size for my queen because I share a bed with my husband… It is recommended that you go one size larger if sharing a bed.
In closing… This blanket delivers! I LOVE THIS BLANKET! I’m confident, you too, will not be disappointed!
I hope this review helps….
I’m 5’0″, 135 lbs., and I got the 15 lb. twin size blanket (48×72). I was 140 lb. at the time I ordered it so I could’ve gone either way (12 lb. or 15 lb. blanket). I have to say, I am in LOVE with this blanket. It is sooo soft with the minky cover. And the weighted blanket stays in place inside (it doesn’t move around) because of the ties holding it in place. I originally bought this for my daughter who has anxiety but the whole family ended up using it so I purchased another one, then 2 more. The weight makes you feel calm, relaxed and like someone is giving you a hug. I use one on top of half of my king size bed (for me) since I’m always cold at night and my husband is always hot. The extra weight helps me sleep better at night.
After seeing the review from that one customer with the bug in it, I was a little leery on ordering it, but after ordering 4 total, all separate transactions and none of them with bugs, I realized that must’ve been a one time thing. It comes packaged nicely in a sturdy plastic bag that can be used to store it if you like. I highly recommend this product for anyone who could use a “hug” after a long stressful day.
I purchased the 25lb option as I am roughly 260 lbs and reading up on how to use weighted blankets it suggests buying one that is roughly 10% of your body weight.
I have had this for roughly a week and my overall sleep has been pretty good. I am not a good REM sleeper and wake up once or twice a night here and there. The week I have had this the first night was mostly a getting used to the blanket type night but the others have been really good. Slept through the night all but one night and less movement which is wonderful.
It is very nice, soft, and made well IMO. The weight is distributed in little “pockets” and so it will not shift on you. It is surprisingly comfortable and does not feel like is constricts my body. It is very heavy to move and would not have thought it would be as it’s “only 25lbs”. (it’s not just a quick throw back the cover type thing lol)
I do not have any kids but I would not use this weight amount with ANY children. I am unsure if another brand is better or worse than this one. Or if higher prices mean better or not, but this one for the $109 I spent is really nice.
Overall a pretty good purchase for what I was looking for which is to sleep better. So far it is helping me with what I bought it for.
I am totally disabled for over five years due to a botched triple bypassSeveral symptoms including sleep deprivationThe very first night, I HAD RELIEFI actually had almost four hours of uninterrupted SLEEPFirst TIME IN ALMOST FIVE YEARSEVER SO IMPRESSIVEI am not a fan of sleep aids , and try my hardest to stay off opioids and antidepressants because of side effectsI do take my heart meds, high blood pressure meds and cholesterolThis blanket has been so effective for me that I am in shock as to how it worksI will admit that I was very apprehensive on this blanket, not because of the price, but how the company said it workedQuality is high and the duvet is ever so softSo thankful this product has worked for meI hope this review is able to help if you are in a quandary as to give it a chanceI AM SO OVERWHELMED AS TO HOW IT HAS HELPED MEVERY PLEASED WITH THIS BLANKETOh and another plus, I live in the Florida Keys, so I was afraid it would be to heavy and hot, IT IS NOTGREAT PURCHASE
I practice Reiki and purchased this in the twin size to drape over clients as they lay on a massage table during our sessions. I wanted to create an extra level of comfort and relaxation, and had read that these are very good at facilitating a sense of calm. Everyone who used it loved it and commented on how nice it was. I even had a few people ask me for the link so they could purchase one of their own.
The weight distributes very evenly and the fabric is cool enough that it was still usable during the summer months. Very soft exterior material, and I found it easy to attach the inside to the shell. Out of curiosity I decided to lay under it and see it it truly was “comforting / relaxing” and I felt so happy and cozy, despite the fact that I was laying on our incredibly uncomfortable futon. Sadly it does not help my dog calm down during thunderstorms (he refuses to wear clothing so ThunderShirts aren’t an option), but he’s relatively inconsolable so it’s not the blanket’s fault 🙂
This was my first time buying a weighted blanket and I did a ton of research / product comparisons before settling on this one. I can’t say if it truly is better or worse than any others out there, but I’m very happy with the purchase and so are my clients! Would definitely purchase again.
Loving this blanket so far. I replaced a cheaper weighted blanket with this one, and wasn’t disappointed. Good quality, nicely distributed weight, and super comfy.
A big reason I bought this one was for machine washability. Although I haven’t washed it yet, I’m less nervous than I was about washing my previous cheap one. The stitching and material seem solid.
Normally I wash anything I get before using it, but as I’ve been under the weather I was delighted that this product arrived looking and smelling fresh and clean. Still think the cover should be washed before using, but given my situation this was a big bonus. And the cover was already on, ready for use.
As for weighted blankets in general, I’m a huge fan. I’ve struggled with insomnia my whole life, and am a master pro at “sleep hygiene”. About a year ago my insomnia became severe, and no medication or sleep tricks (meditation, podcasts, cbt) helped. The little sleep I got was disturbed when I’d awake too hot. You’re supposed to keep things cool for good sleep, but I had this odd need to be buried in blankets. Here’s where the weighted blanket solved two of my big sleep issues — I get the weight I was subconsciously trying to get with 5 layers of blankets, and because I only need the one I don’t wake up hot. It provides the “hug-like” weight you want but doesn’t trap heat.
I’m sleeping better now than I have in a year. I no longer dread going to bed. Granted, the other things I was working on for sleep may also have played a role, but this blanket is a key component.
Bought a second one I’m going to give my son for Christmas.
Still scared to wash the blanket itself, not for lack of quality but fear of having to clean 12 lbs of glass beads out of the washing machine and the damage it could cause. At least it comes with a more easily washable cover. I wonder…if the blanket could be washed while in the cover, to trap those beads if needed. Would love to hear if anyone’s done this.
In summary — hands down one of my favorite purchases this year, and wonderful quality and comfort (you can never be sure when ordering online).
I bought this for my son as he wanted one (I have the same one myself, but I only use this blanket in the sofa, not for sleep)
The outer fabric is super soft and very comfortable.
It’s very warm for sleep according to my son. He tried it at my house and it was too hot (22 degrees Celcius inside), but it works well at his place where the bedroom is a lot colder.
The wight distribution is not 100% even (took about 2-3 weeks to notice) – so the heavy parts keeps going to the sides and the bottom of the blanket. It’s very difficult to try to even it out as it is so heavy. I have tried and it works for a very short while and then the beads fall to the side again. I guess you need the metal tread blankets if you expect no movement at all.
I was so sure this blanket came with a removable inner fabric, but it does not, so I can only wash the soft outer one.
I do wonder where to find a cotton fabric/summer fabric for this blanket. It will for sure be too hot for my son in the summer as we had about + 30 degrees Celcius for months the last two years.
He is about 60 kg and 180 cm and I got him the about 6.8 kg blanket as I myself got the 5.4 kg blanket (I’m 50 kg and 163 cm) and I find it too light (that might be because of the weight being more on the side than actually on my chest and body in general.
Due to my numerous health issues, including insomnia and lots of pain which cause me to have to sit on the couch during much of the night, my husband thought a weighted blanket might be helpful for me. After research, he selected this blanket. When it arrived, I loved it, but it was much too large and heavy to be a “lap quilt.” He immediately purchased a second, smaller version (child’s 10-lb. blanket), which is perfect for the “lap quilt,” and we use this larger version on our bed. The weighted blanket is so soft, warm, and comfortable, and I use both versions every day. Although too early to rate, I do believe the blankets have helped with improved sleep and less pain! Update: Our 14-year-old granddaughter asked for one of “Grammy’s blankets” for her Christmas present! So, a third Quility was ordered. All of my grandkids love to use my “lap quilt.”
**See bottom for explanation of the red line.**
This is my first weighted blanket and I did a lot of searching before I decided to buy this one. I love this thing! I am a college student and have a twin bed, but I got the full bed-sized one because of my height. At first it did take my body a little time (about a week) to get used to the weight and extra heat (as a natural consequence of having a heavy blanket on, but this heat isn’t overwhelming), but I find my sleep to be better! I fall sleep much faster, stay asleep, and I toss and turn hardly at all. I have had it for three weeks and only a couple times have a tie come untied (connecting the cover to the blanket) but those are easy to re-do. Highly recommend. I put four stars for weight distribution because the top of the blanket (the side opposite that of the quility tag) is a little lighter than the tagged side. However this is not an issue for me as I hardly notice it.
Update. After a little more investigation, I’ve found that (at least on mine) the actual weighted blanket is slightly smaller in length-wise than the cover. Maybe I somehow stretched the cover, but I haven’t done anything I think would have done that. I’ll add a picture of what i mean. It’s not the best but I drew a line where the weighted blanket is inside the cover.
I can find absolutely NOTHING wrong with this blanket! In my opinion you can’t go wrong with this one! 😀
This is what you want to know: The “pockets” or compartments for the beads & filling are 5.5′ X 5.5″ and they do not shift, bunch, make noise, leak the glass pellets, etc. I do not find that it makes me hot or cold. The fabric is nice & smooth but not silky so it doesn’t slide off. I use it on top of my covers because I share the bed with my husband. The 48″ X 72″ that I bought would work by itself if you are a small/shorter person. I’m a med-large person @ 5’6″ & weigh 195 lb & not sure it would work alone for me. I previously purchased another awesome blanket at 20 lb (~ 10% of body weight per usual recommendations) but found it much too heavy. (My son bought it from me). I’m certain I would have done well with a 15 lb blanket. At 12 lb it’s ~ 6% of my body weight. 15 lb would be ~ 8%. I’m happy with the 12 pounder. I tried the cover but it just doesn’t work for me. It has ties at each corner & 1 on each side. It did shift a little inside the cover (2 ties on each side would be better) but, as I said, I use it on top of the covers so it prob binds a little against the comforter. If you’re using the blanket next to your body prob a good idea to use the cover and I’m betting it would work just fine! It’s not a total loss – I use it to wrap around my shoulders watching TV. Happy sleeping!!
I’ve had this blanket for about two weeks now and can honestly say I love it. I spent a lot of time researching all the options and varieties of weighted blankets on the market and am very happy with my decision to purchase this one. First, the covering is so fabulously soft and comfortable. It is also removable which is a definite plus so that I can machine wash it. Secondly, I am pleased it has glass beads and the weight stays evenly distributed. I have no problems with it shifting too much and it doesn’t make any noise. Third, and most importantly, I get the best nights sleep I’ve ever had. It makes me feel all snug and secure and it helps me to sleep on my back which is something I’ve never been able to do. I actually look forward to going to bed so I can crawl under it and I fall asleep way quicker than I used to. I was nervous to make this purchase but am so happy with my choice. I am planning on buying my mom one for her birthday since she doesn’t sleep well and now based on my experience I’m sure it will help her. I weigh 125 pounds and I bought the full size, 12 pound blanket in the light grey which is a very pretty grey color. The weight is ideal for me. Not too heavy and not too light. I was afraid it would be too light but I believe it’s perfect – I can still roll onto side if I want to and I don’t feel weighted down – just nice and secure and comfy. I highly recommend.
I love my weighted blanket. The multiple layers in the insert ensure that the weight is evenly distributed and doesn’t shift around or it’s extremely minimal. I got the ivory duvet cover and it matches my bedroom perfectly. The duvet is so soft and cuddly. The blanket helps me go to sleep, stay asleep and definitely wake up better rested. I have many health issues including severe chronic insomnia, fibromyalgia, arthritis, back issues, neuropathy, etc. It’s definitely a big help and the weight doesn’t cause issues with my fibro, and I wake up much less achy all over than usual. Be sure to give it multiple nights to adjust to it–I bought 20 lbs and thought it was too heavy at first, so I ordered the 15 lb and was going to return the 20. After one night with the 15lb, I knew it wasn’t heavy enough so the 20 lb was the best… and just for comparison I weigh about 160 lbs. Also, the minky duvet cover does seem to add close to 2 lbs to the blanket weight as well.
(I’m about 120lbs and ordered a 15lb full size blanket)
I have never reviewed anything on Amazon but felt like I needed to with this blanket! I’ve wanted a weighted blanket for over a year now but haven’t had the money for a Gravity blanket. I finally decided to do some serious research on cheaper ones and it led me to a link for this blanket. I am so impressed with the quality, it doesn’t feel cheap or stiff at all. I also LOVE the cover. It’s softer than any of my normal blankets and the ties inside were so easy to figure out, they also help a ton with keeping the blanket and the cover in place. (Btw I washed the cover right when it came in and it kept its softness and nothing broke!)
I’ve been sleeping with 3-6 blankets on me at once for years because I loved the feel of the weight and it’s so nice to only need one now AND to have one that forms to my body like a cocoon. However, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this blanket (or any weighted blanket really) to anyone that hates getting hot in the night. I wonder if it would be less hot if I took the fuzzy cover off? Either way, I get cold easily so I don’t mind!
I am also very happy that I sized up. A 10-12lb blanket was what most sites recommend for me but I decided to go for 15lbs and, honestly, I could go even heavier and be happy but definitely no lighter. PS a full size blanket completely covers the top of my full size bed but does not go over the sides at all (that’s what I wanted)!
I bought this for my wife for her birthday, but went a weight above the recommended one. This blanket is absolutely amazing!
Pros:
-My wife loves it and sleeps so much better, improving her quality of life.
-This is the only blanket that will 100% shut up my wife’s neurotic freaking Chihuahua, which improves his chances at having a quality life.
-My wife doesn’t steal the comforter anymore, which means I have a better night’s sleep and don’t have to leave her.
-It puts my wife to sleep so well that she doesn’t mind if it’s a little warm, so she backs off the thermostat, you Dad’s know what I’m talking about!
-She once laid it over me when i was hungover from drinking entirely too much with my brother, and it let me dig in for a good coma while my body tried to figure out what happened and why I did that to myself.
Cons:
-Having to clean and jerk this thing overhead so I can backload it to carry ANYWHERE she wants it, downstairs, upstairs, to the car for vacation.
Bottom line, men. Get this for your wife to save your marriage and sanity.
I’ve had Insomnia since I was very young (probably started around age 5 and I’m now 44)! And I also have Anxiety. Terrible combination and many hours (scary to even verbalize a modest guess on how many hours I’ve laid awake while the world sleeps!
Anyway, I’ve tried every “trick” in the book to best insomnia. But the Insomnia triggered Anxiety and my sleep quality was horrifically beyond poor! Meditation, yoga, exercise, no caffeine, eating healthy meals early (not eating past 5:00pm, practicing good “sleep hygiene”, Melatonin…..etc.!
I had read a lot about Weighted Blankets and I researched brands and read hundreds of reviews, asked people questions about their experience with them and finally decided “why not”, I’ll order one. I was pretty skeptical and I thought it was all just a “fad” and had little hope it would work.
Guess what? It has honestly been one of the very best investments I’ve made in my journey to beat Insomnia! No more nights of counting sheep !
In all seriousness, I won’t say the blanket miraculously “cured” my Insomnia or Anxiety, but it’s a powerful tool to help lessen the severity of Insomnia and Anxiety.
Pros:
1. Superb quality!
2. Glass fillers. (Important! Be sure the blanket you buy is filled with glass beads)!
3. Exact weight for me (follow their recommendations on the weight of the blanket in comparison to your weight). Don’t go too heavy and definitely be sure it’s not below the recommended pounds for your body weight!
4. Beautiful color choices!
5. It comes with a cover that protects your blanket and you simply remove the cover to wash/dry and your good to go!
6. You can order more covers from Amazon and I got a coupon for a good percentage off the regular or sale price.
7. It is heavy, but it’s NOT hot!
Cons:
1. You will be so comfortable that you will repeatedly snooze your alarm!
2. It’s a bit of an investment initially.
3. It’s not a blanket I’d recommend sharing with your partner (I wrap mine around me.
4. It’s heavy, so moving it isn’t too easy! I take it off my bed when I make my bed in the morning and grab it when I’m going to bed for the night. (Remember, the blanket may be 15, 17, 18, 20 pounds, etc.)!
The “cons” really were hard to identify as I think this blanket is fantastic and I tell everyone to buy one!
And NO I wasn’t asked to write a review nor was I ever offered anything to write it. I just know how much this blanket helps me and I wanted to share it with all of you!
So this is my first weighted blanket, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I bought the 20lb 60″x80″ blanket (I followed the size chart recommendation) (and yes, as other’s have mentioned, the size is not actually 60″x80″ but slightly smaller, which is not an issue for me. When the blanket arrived, I wasn’t quite so sure I’d made the correct decision. It’s heavy. You never really know what 20lbs feels like until it arrives in box and you have to spread it out on your bed. But I gave it a try. First night, was okay. Better than I anticipated. I was expecting it to be claustrophobic but it wasn’t at all. And the way the weight of the blanket is distributed was comforting but not smothering. Additionally, thought quite soft, the blanket isn’t hot. It arrived during a heatwave and I was worried I’d be too hot. I wasn’t. I’ve been using this blanket for the better part of a month, and my sleep has gotten noticeably better. At 20lbs, it’s not too heavy as I feared. Definitely a keeper. The quality of the blanket construction seems good. I have not removed the cover, nor plan to anytime soon. The Quilty folks sent an email with instructions as to how to attach the duvet cover. Nice additional information to have. I can say if you’re looking for weighted blanket, I’d recommend this blanket based on my positive experience.
There’s a lot of weighted blankets available, so what makes this one such a good purchase? Probably the number one reason would be it includes a soft zipper cover that has tie-ins on the 4 corners and one on each edge – so 8 total tie-ins to keep the blanket in place. Excellent touch! The cover washes up well, on cold, dried in dryer on low and there was very minimal shrinkage. The weight of the blanket is really good – just right at 20 pounds. Made for a good night’s sleep! Also good as a couch blanket for watching tv, naps, etc. The blanket isn’t as big as expected, length wise. For anyone taller than 5’11” this blanket won’t be long enough for them to sleep stretched out under it. Weight distribution is within individual squares, even so every so often the blanket has to be laid out flat and given a few shakes to redistribute the weights. This isn’t a big issue. The biggest plus is the cover and the overall quality, this blanket will last a very long time. This blanket was a bit more pricey than some others, but the quality and nice cover made it worth the extra money. Overall would recommend this weighted blanket for anyone looking for one.
I’m still trying this out. It really is a heavy blanket. My advice is if you’re in between blanket weights then go with the lighter blanket. I feel like I’m under a lead X-ray blanket.
I am a 5’3″ 115lb 25 year old female. I struggle with sleeping, anxiety, depression. I wanted to try a weighted blanket for my problems but wasn’t sure if it would work for me as I also tend to feel claustrophobic from time to time. I figured I would mostly use it as a throw blanket on a couch, and not to sleep with as I didn’t think I’d like it. Turns out I love sleeping with this blanket and now I almost always sleep throughout the whole night (I would previously wake up in the middle of night and not fall back asleep) and if I do wake up, I notice I fall back asleep very quickly. I would definitely purchase this item again. Even my husband who hates blankets, tends to steal it sometimes!
The quality of the blanket is very good and I have had no problems with it. The cover is great and I would definitely recommend the cover, as it is machine washable where I think the weighted blanket itself is just spot clean only. The cover is very soft/fuzzy and stays secure to the weighted blanket. One side is raised circles and the other side is flat. The coloring is perfect and goes with a lot. The only thing to be aware of is that the blanket gets hot! I think it may just be the fuzzy cover, but have not tried the blanket without the cover on. They sell another fabric cover that I would like to purchase in future for the summer time. The cover I purchased will be great in the colder months though. The beading does not seem to move around at all and the weight stays distributed evenly throughout. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and if you are on the fence, just try it. I am so glad I did.
This review is for the Quility Weighted Blanket & Cover, in 15 lbs, size 60″ x 80″, and with the Ivory cover.
I have trouble sleeping, and this blanket really helps. I am 5’4″ and weigh 112 lb, and at the time I bought this blanket, there weren’t corresponding bodyweight suggestions next to each blanket weight. I vacillated between the 12-lb and the 15-lb and ended up going with the latter. I thought the “cream” color would be more ivory, but it’s light yellow, exactly as shown in the product photo. The removable microfleece cover is super soft, but it makes the blanket way too hot for the summer; so I put a spare cotton duvet cover on it for the time being, until it gets cold again.
This weighted blanket washes up nicely. (The fuzzy cover does too, but my main concern is the blanket itself because I’m allergic to dustmites and wash ALL of my bedding regularly.) I didn’t have any problems with the seams coming undone or any beads spilling out. I washed the blanket on my washing machine’s “allergen” (high heat) setting, and then dried it in my drier. Zero problems. 100% would buy again.
** Update, six months later **
This blanket is still doing great. I’ve washed it four times now (about every six weeks) with no problems. I do wish I had gotten a 12 lb blanket, though, because I think the 15lb is too heavy for my body size/weight — it made my skin/muscles hurt the first week I used it (weird, right?). Everything is fine now, but if you’re vacillating between two blanket weights, I’d recommend getting the lighter one. 😉
** Update, 10 months later **
Okay, yeah, this thing is way too heavy for me and actually started causing me that same “skin/muscle” surface pain the past few weeks. I really don’t know any other way to describe it, but it was super unpleasant. I put the blanket in storage last week and am now back to my previous duvet. I should have gone with the 12-lb version of this weighted blanket. One positive? I have washed it MULTIPLE times now, and it does great in both the washer and dryer — no problems there.
Customer service is exceptional!! I had to email and work with the owner of the company – because he chose to do so without any prompting. First class service – original blanket had an issue with packaging, so Quility delivered a new one very quickly. Pink is not my favorite color (but is one of my favorite artists – Ha!), so Quility sends me a different cover at an enticing price – problem solved! Again, excellent customer service. On to the blanket.
I purchased the biggest, heaviest blanket possible (30lbs and 80×92, I think), which turned out to be the correct purchase because we have never slept better (teen years excluded…lol). It is amazingly soft and wonderfully embracing…ahhhhhhh (comfort noise). The first night with the blanket was great and night two will likely be even better. Honestly, I am pondering buying smaller blankets for friends/family – this will be a selective group because the blanket is slightly cost prohibitive for spreading the love to all.
Another phenomenal feature about which I was admittedly skeptical is the “keeps you cool in warm weather and warm in cool weather”. While I cannot speak to the cool weather, I am an expert at warm/hot weather(think Hell on Earth) and this blanket was not hot – at all. Think about that – 30lbs blanket that is not hot when the temp exceeds 100F. WHAT?!? Yep, the blanket was cool even as it’s blazing hot!
Conclusion: If you want a blanket that comes from a great company (if this changes, I’ll revise write-up) with responsive people, a super soft, comfy, hugging but seemingly light quality blanket then this is the answer. I got a great night’s sleep!
I have had chronic insomnia (diagnosed) for 25 years and the doctors are unsure as to the cause (believe it may be related to all the shift work I did during my years working in television and my body never re-adjusting). I stopped taking medication on a consistent basis, as I currently work in mental health and know how addictive it can be. When I read and heard about weighted blankets, I was skeptical to say the least.
However…I went for it. I am so glad I did. I ordered the full-size blanket, 15 lbs, as the King, 10 lbs, was not available. I like the fact I feel encased and comforted. I tend to be a restless sleeper and once I figured out how to “adjust” my sleeping habits, I found I can move pretty freely at night. I cannot say if my sleep has improved as I have only had the blanket for a few days. I do know that I am warmer, which is good as I am the worlds coldest person and sleep with socks on during the summer.
I hope the King size comes back soon, as I will order for my bed and move my current blanket to the spare room (has a full size bed). I will be tracking my sleep to see if this makes a difference in the quality and quantity of my slumber. I will say my cats absolutely love sleeping on it during the day and it is difficult for me to get them off when it is time for me to go to bed. So five stars from them!
So I researched weighted blankets for months before buying this one. This one was definitely at the top of my list of choices. The thing that really drew me to it was that it included a cover with the blanket. I had been debating whether or not a cover would really matter. It does! The cover is like a pillowcase to keep it clean and the minky one is super soft. I absolutely love the minky cover because it’s very comfy and I love the turquoise color I got! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the texture on the cover! I got the 48X72 15 lb dark gray blanket with aqua/turquoise cover. I’m around 180 lbs and 5′ 6″ tall and this blanket is pretty much the right size. I wouldn’t mind it being a tad bit longer to cover my feet since I like to pull it up over my shoulders. The weight of it is amazing! I wondered if a weighted blanket would help me sleep better. I’m a senior in college and have a lot of anxiety and racing thoughts at night. This blanket actually makes me happier, calmer, and sleep deeper. The heaviness of the blanket mimics a hug and hugs actually release oxytocin into your body creating a bonding or happy effect kind of like serotonin does. I love hugs and I love to be covered with a million blankets. So if you are the type of person who enjoys being swallowed in blankets, this is for you! When I use my blanket on the couch, I feel more relaxed and comfier than I usually do with just a regular blanket. I also use my blanket when I’m going to sleep. It helps calm me down, focuses my racing thoughts, and soothes me to sleep. It’s been around 70 degrees F where I live and I’m not hot at all with it on. In fact, my bedroom is cold at night and so I put my bed covers over my weighted blanket if I’m cold. I really enjoy this blanket and it’s honestly been one of the only things that has worked to improve my sleep. It is an amazing product and I’m honestly blown away!
I purchased the duvet for my weighted blanket because the blanket cannot be washed. My blanket is 10 lbs. (considered child size but I am a senior citizen and 10 lbs is enough for me!) and the duvet fits perfectly. It is very soft and can be laundered as needed!
We bought one of these for our daughter (41×60) and she loved it. So when my wife asked for one for her birthday I availed myself of the coupon Quility had included in my first purchase. Only this time I got a queen size. One especially nice feature of the queen size blanket is that it shipped inside the cover. My daughter had to put the cover shipped with her 41×60 blanket on herself. It was a bit of a struggle for her because of the weight of the blanket (10 lb) but she got it eventually. But this one was already pre-covered.
The cover is deliciously soft! My daughter even prefers to lay directly under hers without a sheet. We use a sheet but the cover feels so good against your skin.
I was skeptical about a weighted blanket, thinking first I would find the heaviness uncomfortable and second it would be too hot. Neither have been a problem. The weighted blanket isn’t any hotter than the down-filled comforter I was previously using. And the weight doesn’t negatively impact my sleep. Though I haven’t used it enough to determine if, overall, I sleep better, I am cautiously optimistic that, indeed, that will be the outcome.
It would be unfair if I didn’t also include my wife’s opinion since she’s the reason I bought it in the first place. She agrees with me that it doesn’t sleep any hotter than previous blankets. She also agrees that her sleep hasn’t been negatively impacted and it’s too soon to conclude that her sleep has improved. We’ve only used it for 10 days so far.
I will be happy to update my review in a few months after we’ve used it enough…if I remember 🙂
I am 5’4 and weigh 108 lbs. I ordered the 60 x 80″ 15 lb blanket with the minkie duvet. I found the polyester duvet to be too hot and sweaty. So I ordered a cotton duvet and I’m much more comfortable with that. I like the size and weight of the blanket a lot. I was surprised to find that I do sleep better with the weighted blanket, and I find it to be calming and soothing indeed. I really look forward to slipping in bed at night and pulling it up over myself. I sleep both on my back and on my side. My daughter has one and loves hers as well. I highly recommend.
While I do notice a bit of comfort, this thing is so frickin’ hot i wake up in the night from being too warm. I have been running the a/c (I live in Hawaii) and on 74 degrees it still doesnt offset the thickness. I read in reviews how this blanket wasnt overly warm, but I guess on the mainland where you can sleep with your windows open and get a 40 degree night, yep, you sleep awesome. I know, I used to do it. But this was a waste of money for me out here. Sad. I was hoping that this would be the trick to stop my tossing and turning. And no, I won’t turn my a/c down to 68 and add $100 to my electric bill just to see if that works. I guess this is heavy enough to work as a weighted tarp to keep stuff from blowing away. It is high quality and very soft. Just doesnt work for me.
Where to begin. First, I did research for months trying to decide which company would be the best to order from. Second, it was difficult to decide which weight to get. There are so many opinions out there. Well, the high number of reviews made me choose this company. That was a great decision. Shipped well, quickly, in the proper size box. The weight of the blanket was hard on the plastic protection case the blanket comes in but there we no issues. Next, the 30lbs does not sound like a lot of weight but when you lift or move it, I guess because it flops around, it feels more like 50+ pounds. I like that because it’s different. I did not measure this size but the blanket just covers our king size bed. Seems like it should be a few inches bigger but it does cover the entire bed. I think my wife has me used to stuff that drapes all around the edges. Onto the important part, sleep. OK, this is heavy. Heavier than expected BUT that’s a good thing. What I realized after a few days of use is I was getting more of the weight because I was laying under a blanket that was pulled tight to each side of the bed, exposing me to more weight. After a few nights of sleep, I pulled the edges closer so just part of the blanket was on me. (Not sure I am exhaling this well. Imagine being a tent pole and supporting the entire tent. That was the first 2 days. After wrapping just the side I use, perfect weight.). Anyway, I do feel the quality of sleep has improved. I am not waking up at night which is a big change. I ditched my electric blanket because this is very warm. It’s soft too! I hope they have more color options for covers some day that appeal to me more. I like the blue and gray but more choices for different seasons would be nice. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and the quality. I have not had any issues. I read the negative reviews and they seem forced or just written by competition or bitter people. I cannot think of anything I’d improve. It you are sensitive to weight, I’d strongly consider going 5 or 10 lbs less. Keep in mind, the weight is the entire blanket. You only lay under a portion of the blanket so you do not have the full weight on you. I hope this helps if you are considering one. If this became damaged or torn, I would order a replacement instantly, no hesitation. Good luck.
I was skeptical that a blanket could do so much for a person but I had to prove it to myself. First let me say that this is a time machine in the metaphorical sense that it propelles you foraward in time and gives you a feeling of your childhood. Let me explain, as a child your parents would swaddle you in a blanket keeping you comforted and safe, that feeling allowed your anxiety to be relieved and gave you a feeling of total comfort allowing you to sleep comfortablely. Take this same time proven concept and use it in a blanket for an adult. Now the time machine concept comes from the fact as soon as you cover yourself in this and close your eyes, you are out within minutes and poof it’s tomorrow!!!! The blanket comforts you and makes you feel secure. I thought all the reviews were just hype. Well I am a total believer. Make sure you use the chart to determine which weight is beat for you. It does make a difference. Getting the actual blanket into the supplies cover needs to be done on a flat surface and make sure the ties that hold it in are tied like a shoe lace knot. Makes it easier to remove when your launder the cover. The cover has the raised dots which give it a nice feeling. This is a great solution for people with anxiety and the need for comfort. I can’t explain how good it has been for a getting a good nights rest.
As far as how weighted blankets will affect you, everyone is different and I suggest you try one to see how you react. All I can say for myself is after living for the better part of five decades it is very strange to sleep all night without getting up until my alarm goes off.
As far as the blankets, sizes and weights go I am surprised there is no clear information about how the surface area of the blanket affects how much weight and pressure you will feel. For example, a 15 LB, 48″ x 72″ blanket will generate more pressure than a 15LB, 60″ x 80″ blanket because the smaller 15LB blanket has all of its weight concentrated in a smaller surface area. Even a 20LB 60″ x 80″ blanket will feel lighter than a 15LB 48″ x 72″ blanket because there is more pressure per square inch with the smaller blanket if this makes sense. We ordered three different sizes and weights and conversed with the seller in order to determine this. What this means is if you like the pressure of the 15 LB small blanket but want one that covers more of your body you will need to order a larger AND heavier one in order to feel the same pressure. If you are ordering the 48 x 72 blanket then the 10 to 15 percent of your body weight rule seems like a good starting point, but if you go up in size to the 60 x 80 you might want to add 5 or 10 LBS to the blanket in order to get the same pressure as the smaller one.
I bought this weighted blanket after hearing about how effective it can be to enhance good sleep. It has taken me several weeks to get used to it but I am glad that I persevered. I do sleep better with it, but the additional weight can sometimes feel too much. It certainly does promote more restful sleep and I consider it to be effective for the purpose for which it was designed. Whether it will prove to be too hot in the summer remains to be seen.
Too often I get requests for reviews before I’ve had a chance to get acquainted with the product. This would be one of those products that might have suffered from fingers too quick on the keyboard. Learning how a weighted blanket will work for me took a few nights, some adjustments and adaptability. At first, the blanket just seemed too heavy, too hot, and too awkward to use. But I soon learned, that with this blanket, I no longer wanted the extra weight of my own blanket and bedcover (my “usual”) added to Quilty because they made the sleeping experience too hot. I also learned how to move what is really a cover for a single user on my queen size bed (folding so I can get both arms under it evenly apart) without it falling to the floor and to keep it attractively/conveniently handy when not in use. NOW, I can say without hesitation, I love this thing! The weighted blanket seems to warm me evenly, keeps me from tossing and turning and feels so cozy in the mornings, that I started a daily morning meditation routine before my feet hit the floor to start my day with the right attitude before getting up. I am more rested these days, and consequently feel more alert and ready to deal with the days challenges. I have not experienced the leaking sand of which some have complained. Aren’t you glad I waited to review Quilty?
I read an article about weighted blankets and bough one for each of my sons as Valentines gifts. My wife opened the box when they arrived and told me that my youngest son’s therapist used a similar blanket as part of Feldenkrias Method treatments.
I encourage readers to check out this Wikipedia link, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feldenkrais_kMethod While a research study quoted in the first two paragraphs did not find effectiveness, read thru the entire article. I can tell you that my son’s experiences were positive. It took my wife a couple of years of searching for an effective therapies and pediatricians for my son. On her third try, she found an Eastern European trained pediatrician who recommended a Feldenkrais Massage Therapist. Eleven years later, my sensory integration challenged son has overcome his issues and is in high school playing on the basketball and track teams.
After hearing that positive feedback, I bought four more; one for each of my son’s girlfriends as Valentines gifts and one for my wife and I.
But wait, it gets better… following youngest son’s basketball game, we had his girlfriend and parents over to exchange Valentines gifts. The blanket was the hit of the night. My son demonstrated his blanket on the family room couch and everyone took turns trying the blanket out on the couch and on the easy chair. They all enjoyed the experience. The following morning the dad called and shared that her daughter enjoyed being hugged all night.
One caution… please ensure that you buy a blanket matched to a person’s weight. Other than that, enjoy your own hugging blanket.
I’ve been dealing with insomnia on and off for many years. I’m in the medical profession and therefore know all the complications associated with taking sleeping aids but working 12 hour shifts on little to no sleep at all the night before left me with no choice. So, for the past year, on and off I had to use overtime the counter and prescription medications to help me fall asleep and keep me asleep. I would still wake up in the middle of the night and sometimes stay awake, but this thankfully wouldn’t happen that often.
My wife ended up surprising me and purchasing this blanket from Amazon one day. I did do some homework (research) on the reasoning behind why weighted blanket would work and it did make sense to me logically but I just never really believed in it. So, I have the blanket a try and as soon as I covered myself with it I felt this innate feeling of safety and support that I never felt before, physically and psychologically. Not to sound weird, but I tell my patients that it feels like you are falling asleep being hugged. It’s very comforting.
I’ve been using this blanket for a few months now and I’ve stopped using prescription and over the counter sleeping aids. These blankets feel and work so well that I ended up getting one for my wife and another one for the couch in the family room, for those mid day nap times.
If you are having issues falling asleep or just want to sleep more deeply or securely, you owe it to yourself to try this blanket. Worse comes to worse you can always return it. But if it works, you and your body be forever thankful of the quality of sleep you will have.
Sure, it probably doesn’t work on everyone, but as the reviews show, it’s works on the majority of users.
I’ve been using the 25 pound 60×80 Quility Weighted Blanket for a little over two months now.
I’m pleased to say that it has lived up to, and in some regards surpassed my expectations.
This is the first weighted blanket I’ve purchased. I didn’t necessarily buy into the “helps with insomnia and anxiety” bit, but I was intrigued, nonetheless, and decided to make the purchase. The first night, I noticed a huge difference in sleep. Its ridiculously comfortable and it feels amazing to have all that weight on you while you sleep. Also, the cover for the blanket itself is very soft and comforting.
There are a couple drawbacks to the blanket, however.
In order to prevent the blanket from bunching up into one area, you have to fasten the blanket to the cover by tying ribbons connected to the blanket through loops connected to the cover. It’s not a huge issue, but it becomes quite a chore to untie and retie the knots everytime you want to wash the cover. Obviously, they need to keep the blanket secure in the cover somehow, I just wish there were a better solution.
Second, the pouches for the beads are rather large, which tends to make the beads shift around your body, rather than laying on top of you. Some frequent fluffing of the blanket helps to mitigate this issue.
My final complaint about this blanket, which is somewhat of a “no-duh,” is that it can get very warm. I haven’t used it during the summer months yet, but there have been nights in winter where I have had to pull it off of me in order to cool down a bit. I’m a bit worried it will be unusable for me in the summer time.
Overall, it’s a great blanket, and I’m happy with the purchase. I recommend buying it.
As an additional note, the 60×80 is perfect for one person. If you are hoping to sleep more than one person with it, get a larger size. That said, even if it were larger I wouldn’t recommend sharing the blanket. You likely won’t want to, either.
I take prescription medication for insomnia plus over the counter sleep aids and still have trouble sleeping. I had been interested in a weighted blanket for a while but they were so expensive. I was lucky enough to find this one from the Amazon warehouse at a discounted price and paid less than $80 for it (60″x 80″ 15 lbs. and my weight is 132 lbs.). The removable cover is a plus because I figure washing one of these would be next to impossible. Inserting the blanket in the cover was not an easy task at all but I had anticipated the extra effort. I’ll be honest, I was not expecting a miracle but I did have high expectations. I used it last night for the first time, I thought it would be much heavier but I had no trouble moving under it, and it felt really comfortable. It does strain your arms a little when you try pulling or lifting it while using it. It is too soon to dismiss the therapeutic claims and maybe I was too self conscious about it, but upon that first night of use, I cannot say the quality of my sleep changed or improved. I will keep using it and hope it will eventually help me sleep better. I do not regret buying it because it was a great value and it seems good quality. Both the blanket and cover are super soft and I feel super cozy underneath it. I will buy an extra cover for the summer months. All in all, it was a good purchase.
I have made weighted blankets, and I bought a weighted blanket from another company a while ago. This is the cream of the crop. You don’t need to be Goldilocks to know that this is “Just Right.” It is made very well, and has a raised spotted side, and a soft flat side. Both sides are supremely soft in a “minky” material. I am a full grown adult with Fibromyalgia, arthritis, and major sensory issues. This blanket is absolutely perfect in size, maneuverability, weight, and softness. I can take it off when I don’t need it, double it up when I want extra weight, position it on/off the areas that are most sensitive, and even wash the cover. It doesn’t make you hot, which is convenient as I am also a woman “of a certain age,” but just adds the necessary weight. It even looks beautiful. It seems like a lot of $, but it is most definitely worth the cost. Just be sure that you order the weight level best for your need. 10% of your body weight is recommended. Where I have so much pain, I went on the lighter end. Another tip if you have a chronic illness is to get a long pregnancy pillow to put on either side of you and put the weighted blanket on top. It will help keep the blanket off certain areas (eg. ankles or feet) but you still have that weight where you want it. It can also help reposition the blanket easier.
I received this blanket as a Christmas gift since I basically, have restless leg. I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. The first two nights that I put the blanket entirely over me, I slept awful. I was just too hot and uncomfortable — I really wish the outside covering was cotton and not polyester. I then moved it down to about half my body (primarily over my legs) and that helped. The problems are a few. First, as I said, it is hot. Let me start with I freeze my husband in our bedroom every winter by closing our bedroom doors and closing the vent. Our room can reach 50 degrees F some nights (hence it’s not my bedroom that is causing the heat). That said, we sleep with a sheet and comforter, with a quilt sometimes over the bed if it is that cold (if it’s above 55, the quilt comes off). It wasn’t the coldest of nights (probably about 58 degrees in the room) when I tried just the weighted blanket over my sheet, and I roasted. Whether or not it will be too warm for you depends on your body. Second, I have the 15 pound blanket as that is what was recommended — 10% of my weight plus one pound. It is heavy! I like it as it does “cocoon” you, but if you are like me and move a fair amount in your sleep (switch sides, etc), I seem to always wake now when I move as it is just too hard to move under all that weight! This was especially true when I tried covering my whole body — I couldn’t stand it as I “couldn’t move”! Since I’ve moved it to half my body, it isn’t as hard to switch positions, but I still am more aware of moving than I used to be. Third, I don’t know about others, but my spouse doesn’t want/need the blanket, so I have to try to keep it on my side which makes it hang off the bed more than it should and this also adds more weight. It’s not ideal. Finally, does it help my restless legs? Hard to say. I seem to have less restlessness in them as I don’t feel the “I need to stretch them” sensation and I don’t kick out as much. Unfortunately, I don’t know if this is just my legs giving me a break or the blanket, though I’m leaning toward blanket which is why I think I’m keeping it. I knew I was getting this blanket as a gift and I was really looking forward to using it but honestly, I don’t know if it was the best investment or not. If it wasn’t so expensive, I’d say “Great! Try it.” However, since it is expensive, I’m a bit torn about keeping it (it may help but other parts of it I don’t like — like I fear it will be WAY too hot in the summer plus I don’t like being woken when I move). Sorry this probably confuses you more, but take whatever part fits you most (do you get hot? do you move a lot?) and maybe that part can help answer any question you may have.
08/2019: I’ve had this blanket for about 9mos now, and I’m still in absolute love with it! They’re not really too many care instructions for this, so I made this update for the total purpose of washing! Decided it was time to be washed, even though it lays on top of the fitted sheet, and lays under the comforter (so not too much skin exfoliating contact with the blanket). I took it out on a nice summer San Diego day (95 degrees LOL) and wash it by hand with a scrub brush, and laundry detergent in a bowl mixed with water. Wet it wit the outside hose, soaped/ scrubbed it, and rinsed it twice. Left if outside to air and sun dry in the late afternoon sun. Happy because it now smells fresh, and it’s not going to have a mildew smell or damage from the dryer. Might make it an annual thing, because I absolutely hated the soft plush cover it came with. No way to secure it from being able to slide in what was essentially a bag. But yes, enjoy the smell or freshens again!!!!
12/2018: So I’ve had this item in my wish list forever, didn’t purchase one because between my BF and Parents, I just KNEW I was going to get at least ONE for Christmas. To my disappointment, they both “dropped” the ball (eye roll) lol- so I purchased one for myself right after Christmas. They totally ran out of the 20lb blanket (I wanted to go 10lbs heavier), but they sold out, so I was forced to get the 15lb one, with only 5 left in stock- something better than nothing. But I’m still VERY satisfied with this purchase, feel like it did help me sleep better. Its about as wide as my queen bed, and VERY comfortable. Im about 190, so my thought is when I do lose my weight, I’ll fit for the weight class of the blanket, but still couldn’t be happier with this purchase!!!
I grew up in the midwest and a 2 story house with no heat to speak of upstairs (where I slept). Mom would use these big heavy quilted blankets on our beds for warmth and it’s a feeling that I’ve never forgotten but never had until now. Using my Quility weighted blanket on the first night brought it all back and reminded me of the feeling of being safe and secure in that dark cold room all alone. Thanks for that!
On to the blanket itself:
I did a ton of research reading reviews and trying to find the proper weight that fit the bill. 25 lbs. was perfect I think as it feels like a hug when you’re under it. I have no doubts that I’ll enjoys years of goodness from this blanket. I fall asleep faster and wake more energized than I ever did with a comforter. It’s not hot like I imagined and the Duvet cover is very soft and plush. After following the instructions, the cover went on easier than I thought just by tying the 8 ties through the weighted blanket loops and turning the Duvet right side out. The blanket hasn’t slipped from the cover and the beads are sewn into small pockets that evenly distribute the weight. It’s nice to know that I can remove the Duvet cover on laundry day to keep it clean and that I’ve bought a product that is made in the U.S.A. when so little seems to be these days.
I can’t recommend this weighted blanket more heartily if you are in the market. Do as I did and research, research, research, then come back for this one because it’s perfect! The follow up emails from the manufacturer asking about my satisfaction and willingness to answer any questions left me with no doubt that this company will be around for as long as people need a good nights sleep.
No matter how exhausted I am, I take a long time to fall asleep. I also often wake up in the middle of the night. With this blanket, I fall asleep faster and get better sleep quality. The cover material is soft and comforting, and I don’t get hot underneath it. I chose this brand because I wanted glass beads, a queen-sized blanket, a cover, and a specific weight. This had all of that and it was the best price.
I am 109 lbs. and I ordered the 20 lbs blanket (20% of my body weight). I realize that the recommended amount is 10% of your body weight; however, after researching, I learned that you get the best results from 20%. Additionally, since I ordered the queen size, the weight is distributed more. In other words, since my entire body is not underneath the entire blanket, I don’t get the full 20% on my body when I sleep.
Putting it together was easy. It took me 10 minutes. Here is what I did:
1. Laid the cover inside out on my bed
2. Placed the weighted blanket on top
3. Tied all ties except for the ones near the zipper together
4. Flipped it right side in
5. Tied the rest of the ties
6. Zipped the cover
I loved this blanket so much that I bought one for my sister for her birthday. She has a lower baseline for discomfort, so I knew that 20% would make her irritable. She is 120 lbs. so I ordered the 15 lbs. blanket for her (12.5% of her body weight). She said it was her favorite present and is happy I didn’t get the heavier one for her.
I would also like to add that I am a student and have recently been home for the holidays. I didn’t bring my blanket because I couldn’t afford to take up 20 lbs. in my luggage. I have tried to layer up blankets to get a similar effect and it is just not the same. First, I get very hot with five blankets on top of myself. Second, the blankets end up moving around in the middle of the night.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this product.
I have been using my 12-pound Quilty Weighted Blanket for 2 weeks and I am hooked! I just went on a weekend trip and really missed my blanket! I sound like a child, I am sure, but that is how this blanket makes you feel…all tucked in, cozy, warm, relaxed and safe in cocoon of softness. Although many people purchase this to counteract the effects of anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other medical conditions, I purchased this blanket because I simply like the feel of the weighted X-ray vest at the dentist and knew this would be similar. I couldn’t be happier!
I bought the 60×80 size in a 12 pound weight. I weigh 112, and the instructions say to buy a blanket 10% of your body weight plus one pound. I am happy with my blanket but I feel like I could have used a 15 pound with no problem. In the end, the “guide” is just that- a guide- and it becomes a matter of personal preference.
These blankets are NOT supposed to hang over the bed sides. Some reviewers complained that it didn’t fit their bed. If it hangs off the side of the bed it will end up on the floor. They are meant to be wrapped around your individual body. In fact, for this reason I do not share my blanket. I tuck it around me before I go to bed so I am surrounded by it; if you share you cannot do that. I have found no shifting of the glass beads and they don’t make a sound!
My hubby and I put the duvet cover on together, although I could have managed it by myself. It has 6 ties that attach to the blanket loops and the cover is deliciously soft! I love the ivory color of the duvet I selected as well.
I sleep with a Fitbit so I also have tangible evidence that my sleep has improved with this blanket. Prior to sleeping with my Quilty weighted blanket was awake about 1 hour and 30 minutes every night and now I am only awake about 15-20 minutes. I feel refreshed when I wake up, too!
The down side/con is that it is heavy so you don’t really want to be taking this from room to room. (Although this does not bother me!) If you think you want one for watching TV…buy two!
I researched for weeks and weeks and selected Quilty because it came with the cover, had very good reviews, it is good quality, and I could select a color that matched my room. I am VERY pleased and would most certainly buy it again!
My partner wanted a weighted blanket for his birthday. I researched them somewhat extensively trying to make sure we got one that was high quality. I came across an article that reviewed them by different criteria and the quility blankets had a high overall ranking and I liked that they came with a duvet so that it could be easily washed. It was also a reasonable price. We love it! It has the hypoallergenic glass beads and the duvet is super soft and cozy. I put a three under the assembly ranking just because we actually did struggle to get the duvet on, but that is probably more user error and the blanket is so heavy it can be tricky to move it around. The extra weight definitely feels good when it’s keeping you cozy underneath it.

Exactly what I wanted. Some considerations for those of you on the fence.
1. How do you normally sleep in relation to your blanket? A side sleeper who pulls the blanket up around themselves will probably want the next weight down from recommended. Blanket weight is nicely distributed on this one.
2. Take into account your partner. You will want the smaller size if they have any issues with the additional movement restrictions.
3.; The cover does take some organization and work to “install”. This is actually a pro. The blanket will not bunch up inside the cover which is likely without this arrangement.
Summary: well made, good weight distribution, comes with a nice quality cover, does exactly what I needed. I know these seem pricey, but this is a comparative bargain when you consider the quality of construction and included very nice cove
I get migraines that are tied up with neuralgia and muscle spasms. My entire body can tense up in a storm of pain when I am in one of these headache cycles. I bought this 20# weighted blanket (on the heavy side for my weight bracket) because I have found relief using sandbags (of the type used in yoga practice) on a few areas of my body, so I thought even applying even pressure everywhere might be calming. I am pleased with the swaddling effect the blanket provides — but for naps or dozing “liedowns” only. I cannot imagine sleeping overnight with this much weight on me. I don’t think it would be healthy.
To use this as a calming aid, I lie on my back on my bed with my head and shoulders supported with a couple pillows. It’s very important to support your neck whenever you apply weight to the body, and you might want to out a pillow under your knees. I cross my arms over my upper chest — corpselike — with the weighted blanket pulled up to my chin. A weighted eye pillow is a nice addition, or even a soft pillow placed across your forehead. My body calms within 10 minutes. After about 20-30 minutes, I achieve that sleepy, delicious, woozy feeling that is akin to sedation.
I do wish the blanket was offered in a narrower size. It is much wider than it needs to be. Much of the weight is in the part of the blanket that is not covering your body. Although it helps to hold you in place, it seems to be wasted. Maybe the manufacturers is allowing for larger bodies, but I think this should be offered in a few sizes.
I love this blanket. The weight is very evenly distributed so that it sort of cocoons around me without my feeling constrained or confined. The construction is of high quality and the color of the blanket (grey) is perfect. The “minky” cover feels great but I get too hot under it so I ordered the smooth cotton cover. I sleep more soundly under this blanket and my restless leg symptoms are dramatically reduced. It may be the placebo effect, but it beats the heck out of medication and it’s not harmful.
I ordered what is described in some areas as a Queen blanket but it just fits across my Queen bed. Really not an issue since it does cover the area I need. I think I should have gone with a little less weight-I ordered the 15 lb. blanket but feel maybe a 10-12 lb. blanket would have suited me better. I went by weight description of my body when ordering so this is just a personal preference thing-not manufacturers.
I do feel that I am sleeping better. I love the “snuggle” appeal this blanket provides and mine is very quiet. I am an older person so I get up many times during the night. I have found that I seem to go back to sleep again a lot easier than in the past so I wonder if the blanket has helped with that also. I have suffered from restless leg syndrome over the years but haven’t had an issue since I received my blanket and haven’t changed any thing in my eating or exercising habits so that’s a plus. I also am known to toss and turn a lot but have noticed I am not moving as much.
This blanket is great for upcoming winter months but not sure I would keep it on my bed this summer. It keeps me warm but not overboard. I would recommend lighter “pajamas” and such.
I would buy this product again for a family member to try.
I have heard many things about weighted blankets- mostly how they help children with autism, help people sleep better and feel comforting. I wanted to give it a try. I LOVE my blanket. It is quite the beast to get into the cover because of the weight but it is so worth it!! I never thought I would be so happy about a blanket. I have only had it for less than a week- I can’t say long term that it helps with sleep, but I have slept well the past couple of nights. I am not waking as frequently, fall asleep quickly and I feel more rested. It is warm to sleep under. I am usually cold and just with the blanket and cover I haven’t been cold at all. I have always liked the top sheet because I enjoy feeling tucked in. I stopped using the top sheet because the weighted blanket made me feel completely tucked in and safe- I have always believed that the covers were a protective barrier, I know its irrational BUT I feel safe and protected under the blanket. I only wish that the cover could be dried in the dryer- air dry takes a long time in the winter months.
Happy the weighted blanket itself didn’t have any issue with losing the weight material (read about competitors having that issue). And the weight seems to stay where originally put. I see what one person mentioned about not being a full size blanket. It basically, just barely covers the top of my queen mattress along the side edges, but was long enough to hang down at the bottom a little. But this isn’t a good choice for normal blanket needs. I ended up testing with a comforter and separate blanket as the cover was hard to put on, but without another layer I was cold…which might be a bonus in summer (guessing the weight material conducts heat well).
Cover was difficult to put on. Probably could have done it, but didn’t want the effort of removing it later on (in summer when I didn’t want insulation). Think a wider zipper area could have helped (full side instead of about 3/5 opening), and I agree something other than loops + tie downs at the corners and middle of the top/bottom seems a better option (maybe metal snaps?)
Sadly the final straw is I cannot sleep under this thing. I bought the recommended 10% of my body weight version, and it does feel pretty good when I first go to sleep…maybe a little heavy/trapping, but comforting too. Sadly twice now I’ve woken 3-4 hours later in pain, and feel like I’m being smothered. Guessing my not great circulation is the issue and maybe a lighter version would be better. Still considering my options here, but this one is going back and if I do buy another it’ll be without the cover.
Our main purpose for ordering this was for our 3 year old to be able to sleep through the night in his own bed. He has a hard time with suddenly waking up in the middle of the night (has had some mild sensory challenges); We’ve been using this 5lb blanket for the past 3 nights and he’s slept in his bed through the nights!! We’ll be ordering another one to gift for Christmas to our niece who has special needs and probably our 7yr old son that has night terrors.
This is my first weighted blanket purchase, and I had read reviews on others that seemed flattering for the most part, but had some really poor reviews as well.
The Quility brand had better overall reviews and I’m glad I went with this brand.
The quality seems top notch.
There are ties on the inside of the cover that attaches to the blanket to keep it evenly spread.
Both blanket and cover are very soft and seem to be very well made.
The beads don’t shift, so weight remains consistent in the blanket as well.
I can’t tell any difference in heat retention from my standard comforter, so I think this will be just fine all on it’s own, or in addition to your other sheets/blankets on really cold nights.
Adding this on top of your regular comforter will likely be too much for most nights.
My seven-year-old has never been a great sleeper. He typically wakes up in the middle of the night two to three times a week and often struggles to fall asleep. I was skeptical that a blanket could help but after using this for a few weeks I’m happy to report success. The only time he’s woken up was the one night we forgot to use this blanket. It’s been a real game changer. I would love to see an option for a lighter weight cover for warmer months- perhaps in a cooling type fabric to ensure we can use this year round.
This blanket has improved my sleep by at least 100 percent. For years, I laid awake waiting for the alarm to ring, tossing and turning for long periods of time during the night. The best sleep I had was the two or three hours after going to bed, and after that time, it was a lost cause. Many nights I slept better sitting on the couch than I did in my bed. However, now, with my new Quility Blanket, I find myself sleeping until the alarm rings and desperately wishing I didn’t have to get up. I never, ever would have imagined that to be possible. I awake refreshed, not stiff and aching; I feel well rested, and not “hung over” from hours of struggling to make myself sleep.
I have taken medication for restless leg syndrome for years; I now find that I no longer need that medication. One less medication is enough reason to love this blanket – before I even get to listing all the other positive benefits.
All that being said, I may have purchased a blanket that was one size too heavy. I erred on the side of caution because too light would not have served its purpose, and I decided that too heavy couldn’t be a bad thing. I’m glad that I decided in that direction, and I would advise anyone purchasing the blanket to do the same. Of course, the return policy is so customer-friendly that making a bad decision is not difficult to rectify. I only mention it for those who might be struggling with their body weight being right on the line between one blanket and the next one up or down.
All in all, I have never slept better and I could not be happier with this purchase. I highly recommend it for anyone who doesn’t sleep well, for whatever reason.
I have been interested in weighted blankets for awhile now, but didn’t know which one to buy, or if it would even work. After reading the good reviews on this company, I decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did!!! The blanket is sewn really well, and I love the cover for it…so soft and warm! I liked that this one comes with a cover, which can then be washed easily. I also like the ties to help hold the blanket in place once inside the cover. I saw that they sell a lighter cover for summer, which I am excited to try. (I have a few kids who would love the weighted blanket, but the added heat of the fleece cover would be bad for their eczema and skin issues…so I’m glad there is a “less warm” option.) I have struggled to sleep for several years, and the sleeping pills don’t seem to help anymore…thus the interest in a natural way to get better sleep. It is so comfortable to be under this blanket, and I find myself excited to climb under the covers! I have been using it for 2 weeks now, and while I don’t necessarily fall asleep quickly, it is quicker than I did before. The biggest thing is how much better my sleep is once I fall asleep. I have slept much deeper and wake up feeling like I got more sleep than before. I haven’t been nice enough to let any of my kids or my hubby actually sleep with it, but they have all tried it and were amazed at how much they liked the feeling of it. My husband tried it one afternoon, and went from being perfectly awake and talking to me, to drifting off in under 5 minutes! (He’s never had issues sleeping, but even he admitted it was super cozy and induced sleepiness in him.) I am really glad I got this blanket, and plan on getting one for each of my kids and hubby for Christmas!
I purchased two of these. One 5lb for a child and one 20lb for myself. I went heavier for mine than the recommended body weight percentage on the chart. The blankets come nicely packaged. The weighted blanket has square sections with tiny pellets of weights that do move within the square sections. They are not loose within the entire blanket. The weight measures exact folded on a scale.
The weighted section is dry clean only while the cover is machine washable. The cover is not padded but soft. It is like a slip case with ribbon ties to fit within tabs on weighted blanket to help keep in place inside the cover or else it would be similar to a bean bag and just slide to a ball. All as advertised. Shipped earlier than suggested.
The reason I purchased was because I have lupus and the pain at night is intense and my sleep is always disturbed. I have only used this two nights and I don’t know that it does or doesn’t help but it does prevent the tossing and turning because you are weighted down. I hope eventually it will help me sleep. I do like them and recommend this purchase if you are shipping this type of blanket. The cover is made for the specific blanket and comes with it. Easy and convenient. The price is lower than gravity blankets and does the same thing. Good luck to anyone struggling with something that prevents sleep. Hopefully this is helpful for you.
I LOVE my blanket and I am glad I got it. If I could go back in time I wouldn’t have purchased the 25 lb blanket. That is what was recommended for my weight. It is truly hard to switch positions in the bed. Which I GUESS is kind of the point. I definetly slept WORSE for 2-3 nights because my body was constantly fighting the blanket in my sleep but once I got used to it I find I fall asleep and wake up in the same position. I fall asleep easier ESPECIALLY when I take my day time nap because I am by myself and do not have anybody to snuggle with.I was worried I would be too hot but it is not hot at all. I am quite comfortable temperature wise! I do LOVE my blanket and have no regrets buying it! Worth every penny!
The quilty is a great product. I love the soft material. It was easy to put the duvet cover on. The only thing I wish was that I had bought one a little smaller to get the full effect of the weight. I bought the 60×80 and I wish now that I would have bought the 48×78. It’s the 15 lbs. When the blanket it bigger the weight is distributed over a larger area. I feel like along with suggestions for the weight of the blanket there should also be suggestions for size based on a person height. If I double the blanket over I can few more weight.
I had thought about buying a weighted blanket for a while in order to help me sleep. I haven’t been sleeping well since I was pregnant — so for about 18 months. It takes me a long time to fall asleep, and I wake up several times per night, and it takes me a long time to get back to sleep each time. I would start to nod off in the evening, but then once I climbed into bed, I had a very hard time falling sleep. A lot of it is anxiety, racing thoughts, etc. I was exhausted and getting desperate. My sister bought a weighted blanket and said it helped her sleep much better, so I asked my husband for one for my birthday. Neither of us knew what to look for, so we scoured through Amazon together and settled on this one for several reasons:
. I only wanted a twin-sized blanket because my husband said he wouldn’t use one.
. My sister has a 15-lb blanket and suggested I go a little heavier, so I chose 20-lb
. I liked how this one came with a cover, so I knew the cover would fit and hold up well to the weight of the blanket. It ended up being cheaper to buy this one than purchasing a blanket and cover separately, too.
. The positive reviews!
I washed the cover as soon as I received the blanket and I’ve used it for 3 nights so far. These are my thoughts:
. I had been afraid that the weight of the blanket would suffocate me or make it hard to breathe. Not the case! It’s like a hug. I’ve always liked sleeping under the weight of a lot of blankets, and that’s what this feels like.
. It’s a little warm. I’ve been sweaty at night lately, so it’s not just the blanket. And honestly it’s not nearly as hot as I’d feared it would be. For being so heavy, it’s very breathable.
. The cover is heavy-duty, thick and soft. It’s like sweatshirt material.
. Definitely helps me fall asleep faster, and I don’t wake up as often!
. My husband actually tried out the blanket first, and promptly declared that he would keep it if I didn’t like it. And last night, I had pushed it aside because I got sweaty, and a little while later I woke up to the sound of him stealing it and covering himself with it.
. The blanket is held into the cover by a series of buttons and loops on the inside of the cover, and then there’s a zipper closure. There are a lot of buttons (they’re placed every other square on the blanket), so it’s a but pain to take off and a HUGE pain to put back on, especially if you miss a button, but the blanket is held in very securely. I am a little worried about the longevity of the thread that holds the buttons on, but I could re-attach them if necessary.
I bought the queen size and it fits the top of the mattress only (which I knew prior to buying). The issue is that when you roll over if sleeping with the blanket, you pull the entire thing with you, as you can’t really lift it in your sleepy state to turn without pulling it with you. Its so heavy, that its difficult to raise it and turn over or get feet propped up, etc. After reading several suggestions about weighted blankets and getting wt within a certain % of your body weight, we went with the 25 lbs. Its so difficult to even get under and settled under it. We tried to love it… We tried for about a week. Its currently laying on the chest in our room, as we will not be able to use this product. Sadly, we bought this product when it was $150…so it’s a complete waste.
The product does seem to be well made. There wasn’t really that bad of an odor in the blanket, as others have claimed. It was a 2 person job to get the duvet cover over it due to the weight. I def dont see me removing to clean the cover…as I can’t imagine having to do it twice!
Seems like most of my issues with the blanket are to no fault of the seller, but of my own…I was hoping this product was going to help me get a better nights sleep, but that has not been the case at all. I had decided not to write a review, but keep getting emails from the seller requesting a review…sooo….here it is. Is it made well? yes! Would I buy it again? Id like to try a lighter weighted blanket, but dont see me spending another $150 for the item not to work for me.
This is a hard product to review. In general, i like the blanket. It is very cozy (I have always liked heavy covers). However, I recently had a stroke and am having a lot of spasming at night. I had hoped that the nerve-soothing effects of the weighted blanket might quiet them down. Nothing else has. But, while the blanket might be helping some (I’m still trying to form a solid opinion of that), I’m still experiencing a lot of spasms.
Update: Over the past two nights, when I was having a lot of spasms, putting the blanket on calmed the spasms immediately. It was rather amazing. I still had some spasming after that, but not nearly as strong. This blanket is a keeper.
