Easy set up and it works. Please know that your picture will not be quite as good on a UHD tv set as it was on the older 1080p sets. But it works very well and the picture is not bad…much better than I had expected.

I was skeptical when I first purchased this product. I have some old electronics that still operate off of RCA's. When I used this product to connect my old electronics to my new HDMI electronics, the quality was supreme. A great idea! A great product!

Most important thing to remember is that this is an adaptor, you will need an hdmi cable to use it, but it is perfection! No need for tech support, it is simple to do! We can use our old vhs/Cd player with our brand new TV! took about 1 minute to hook it up and it works perfectly! I will update in a few month to let you know if it still works!

For what it’s worth, not bad. It’ll absolutely change AV to HDMI. Not something to write home about, though; the picture quality is fuzzy, the audio quality is weirder. However, if you’re piping that AV into an HDMI capture card, then you’ve got a working wonder.

I bought this, a hdmi cord and a rca to hdmi to hook up my DVD player to my smart TV that doesn't have a rca input. I install them in and nothing worked until I unplugged those and plug in the hdmi cord to the DVD player and TV and that worked on its own sooo...waste of money I guess but might need it for something in the future. I'm giving it 5 stars cuz it arrived in perfect condition and my TV has USB port to plug this in.

The title may be a little confusing, but I want to clarify that the product does give you a better image than a regular composite connection for newer TVs, however, it may not be the proper upscalers for older consoles like the GameCube, N64, Dreamcast, etc.
When I first got this cable I was happy with being able to play the GameCube after so many years of only playing current gen (PS4/Xbox One). My girlfriend and I play a lot of Mario Kart so it worked perfectly fine. The problem arose when we had friends over and we played 3 or 4 player split screen. While driving in the game it’s hard to gauge where everything is at, power ups, edges of the road, etc.
The two settings of 720 and 1080p don’t seem to actually change in image quality that much, with 1080 maybe actually giving worse picture quality because it’s trying to stretch out more pixels.
My reason for leaving out the star is that although it is a converter/upscaler and I had no problems as far as not getting an image out, my Dol-101 Model GameCube does not have cheap upscaling options, I would be getting 480p at best (which might even be better than the image I’m getting with the 720p option Im using on this current upscaler). Also this is just more of a warning for anyone expecting to get actual 1080p out of this if you plan on using retro consoles.
If you have a Dol-001 Model, your upscaling options are better and readily available. But if you have a Dol-101 Model like me, it seems you have to find a 480p upscaler only, then plugging an expensive RTX5, GBS-Control, or Framemeister into it to get HD images.

Bought a new TV which unfortunately like most Tvs now don’t have any RCA inputs or even HDMI. Mine only has two HDMI. Bought a Kinivo HDMI extension with 5 inputs.
I then bought this RCA converter. Very easy to use and worked the first time. 1) Connected the coloured cables from my old Dvd recorder to the converter.
2) used the supplied micro USB for power (USB included but no plug however, you can use any Samsung plug etc)
3) Connected the HDMI to my Kinivo 550bn HDMI extension and that’s it.
The picture quality is VHS quality and I didn’t see any difference when switching between 720 and 1080p but for me that’s a minor issue because I just want to watch the old vintage VHS videos. I tried connecting my JVC Everio camcorder using it’s own RCA cable so I can record the VHS to Dvd which was my main purpose for purchasing this. Absolutely delighted.

Works perfectly
Used this on megadrive and Wii and it works perfectly fine except for when I try sonic and knuckles. Don’t know why but the screen keeps flickering and stretching with that game specifically. Other than that everything works perfectly.
Picture And Sound
My Philips DVP2800 only has an RCA output and will not work on my new Samsung TV as that only has 3 HDMI inputs. Even though I have 3 put away I was able to make them all multi region. I was looking at purchasing the Philips TAEP200 on Amazon but it appears to be impossible to convert these for multi region playback. As I have quite a few region 1 discs, it was no longer an option. I decided to try the RCA to HDMI converter instead so I can carry on using my multi region player. I use my TV as a power supply and it converts the picture and audio perfectly. Although I cannot comment on games consoles, but for DVD players, it is perfect for modern TVs without AUX inputs.

After trying so many different adapters and connections, new wires and all sorts this is the only thing that has worked! My son is now able to play an old n64 on a new tv.

Perfect for connecting older devices
I’ve got a smart tv that doesn’t have the 3 pin red, white and yellow connections in the back and I needed to plug a dance mat in and this was perfect I plugged the 3 pins in one end and then plugged the mdmi in the other end straight into my tv

I recently purchased a brand new Samsung Smart TV and completely neglected the fact that, given RCA is pretty old tech at this point in time, I would be unable to play my old PS2 through it! Problem solved with this adapter. Straightforward and easy to use, just plug and play, picture and sound is clear and no issues so far.
Well the amount of research I did trying to find a solution to connecting my old PS2 (original not slim) to my Samsung TV was tiring – as no reviews on someone trying to do the same! So I found this and the reviews were 50/50 and alot mentioned to change a setting? I wanted to try and hoped I then was able to do this setting thing. I was worried that I had wasted my time! Received the connector – I can say was the easiest thing I have ever done! Took 20 mins at most to make sure I had it all connected right and move wires etc…worked like magic and now I am able to share the games I used to play with my daughters!!! Playing Kingdom Hearts on my Samsung TV has been emotional! Thank you x

The rca to hdmi adaptor has worked for all my consoles upto dreamcast but be warned it only supports upto 50hz so don’t try to play at 60hz any consoles or they won’t work properly on a tv. I have successfully got consoles from master system upto dreamcast and the n64 does work as I played command and conquer and Donkey kong 64 with success I haven’t tried gamecube as I have a proper hdmi adaptor for that but I would imagine it would support 50hz mode only.

PS2 converte
We rediscovered our old PS2 and wanted to get it working with an up to date TV. This RCA to HDMI converter did the trick simply and effectively. Now we can enjoy some old school games again.

This adapter works really great so now I can use my Sony DVD player with my new Samsung smart TV.
While the picture quality is poor, this device does the job. It synchs my VCR / DVD player with my SmartTV and I’m able to view old tapes. Haven’t watched a DVD yet, so don’t know if transmission is better with those.

The item worked like a charm and, now, my offices are happy to be playing Goldeneye on the massive 80″ TVs!
Allows older consoles to be played on modern screens.
This allows me to play my original Xbox on modern TV’s that only have a HDMI input. It does nothing to increase or worsen the quality, not that I expected it to.
The actual item does feel extremely cheaply made with very light and hollow feeling plastic, so I feel it is a tad expensive for the quality, but hey it works as expected.

Great product, does exactly what I needed to connect my Wii to Samsung TV. Initially, it was flickering, but expected that as per the reviews. It was easy to change the settings to 50hz, and now works perfectly. Mega impressed with the service provided. Customer services proactively contacted me to make sure everything was OK. Can’t fault.
Ideal for retro gaming
Bought this to connect to a multi-console setup. Multiple retro consoles connect to a switch box, which then connects to this adapter/converter, before feeding the HDMI into my modern TV. Image quality is perfect. I just need to remind myself to actually plug it in sometimes! On that note, the cable could do with being a bit longer, but that’s just personal preference.

A relatively good one
