I like the styling of this microwave and the range of cooking options that are available however the one thing that I don’t like is the cooling fan that kicks in after 2 minutes or more microwaving because even after the cooking has finished, the fan continues on for another 2 minutes or so
Took a bit of getting used to(haven’t tried the grill or combo yet) as it’s a lower power and about 1/4 size than my previous 900W but works as well as expected but very noisy. This unit has good looks and is easy to keep clean both inside and out. But there are irritating bits as well. The bulb does not have a strong light so it is very dark inside when the door is open making it difficult to accurately place dishes on the turntable and retrieve finished items. The instruction book takes many pages telling you how to use and not to use the machine and all the very many inherent dangers with its use. But in all the. thirty odd pages it does not mention once what all the symbols mean on the display panel. It tells you that on each completed action it will beep twice. – Wrong it always beeps three times. It is rated at 800 watts and almost everything takes longer than in our old 800 watt Goodman’s microwave. However the controls are easy to use and these are explained quite well in the booklet.
I wouldn’t have bothered getting anything with a grill, and knew not to expect much from one on a model this size, but I bought this in slight desperation after the little one I’d inherited started shedding enamel, then a replacement similarly sized sharp model lasted less than 20 minutes, and really needed something to reheat frozen meals, and a convenient height grill for simple muffins and crumpets while unable to use all limbs easily.
There’s a lot to like about this. Firstly, the instruction manual, while only needed to understand the limited combination options, is reasonable quality and fully readable without reading glasses. It’s very easy to use, although, I still occasionally cancel what i want to do rather than just hitting the dial to start. Just sometimes I end up going up or down some seconds hitting the dial to start, but that’s minor thing.
The cheap plastic chrome effect buttons are not all that bad. They work much better than a touch panel. Not sure about complaints about turning dial for longer time-lengths… seems to do it pretty well for me with little effort. Chrome plastic door handle is just passable too, but again, works fine to open and close door.
I didn’t expect much from the grill option in a unit this size, and if I had space for a toaster as well, then I doubt I’d ever use it, but it does work to toast a muffin or crumpet, albeit not particularly fast doing one side a time.
I do wonder if the ring that goes under the turntable was actually for something even smaller… you definitely need to make sure it’s in the right place as have had it move out of place then turnable fall off and not turn, but mostly it’s OK.
There’s just a few slight usability issues, but then, some are perhaps for good reason, and make you check you didn’t just start it with nothing in, etc., so none that I’m particularly worried about.
As a microwave, there is really nothing to complain about. It looks OK. Easy to use. Grill is as good as you’d expect of something in a unit this size. It’s pretty much identical size to the one that was shedding it’s insides that didn’t have a grill, so fits the same gap in the kitchen, looks a little better, plus, has a clock! I’m pretty happy.
I purchased this machine to replace my Cook Works microwave which broke down. I found this machine to be powerful and the grill is very good. It also has a defrost button which I also wanted. It has a number of presets which are very handy. It is a compact machine and it works very well.
Weighed up all the options and plumped for this one We are not disappointed its fantastic took a bit of getting used to controls but the features of the product and what it can do makes it much more than just a microwave looks good too.
The product is nicely designed and reasonably easy to use. However the specification states that the product is made of stainless steel which is factually incorrect and misleading. The only parts of the product that comprise of stainless steel are the glass surround and the control panel.
Turn a button. Press the button. It really is that simple. Yes, the grill, and all the other settings are there, that work well if you are that dependant upon the full features. The only annoyances are that the beeper – which really isn’t annoyingly intrusive – cannot be cancelled, and the auto child-lock, which is counter intuitive. A child could easily use it… It’ll fit in a Chicken, or just some beans. Worth the money.

I just returned mine, silly me. I read the added note saying fans may work for 2 minutes after use to cool it down. I then forgot and when this happened I thought ut was a fault and I returned it.

Best Microwave we have ever had; looks lovely, cooks and warms food up really quickly, with the extra benefit of a grill; which is perfect for cheese on toast etc.
First one broke after 6 months, the return process was amazing, and not an issue so so grateful for the way it was conducted.
Do not underestimate the power of making something so easy for consumers it takes a lot of work behind the scenes.

Easy to use and set up. Nice looking too and not to noisy with the dial also when the timer finishes not a loud noise just a beep to let you know it’s finished.
Bought to replace similar size De Longhi which suited us well for size and occasional use. The De Longhi had stainless steel interior and exterior and lasted for many years. Russell Hobbs has less stainless steel but is easy to use with a large 30 second timer button which is simple and covers most situations. Haven’t used the grill, probably won’t but the price for similar ones without the grill were higher so not an issue. One small disappointment is that the height is just a little too short for microwave rice packets, but we can probably still squeeze them in.

The grill is great and The combi 2 function to do jacket pototoes , comes out crispy.
There are times where the microwave burst into a loud sounds. Which is really annoying.

The only downside is I wish there were a 30 seconds button. You have to turn the timing dial to around one minute and work backwards. At best, you can estimate somewhere between 30-60 seconds as the dial is by minutes only. A few times I have caused my milk to boil over the mug as a result and have had to clean up the inside.
Simple to use though. I don’t miss all the potato, pizza, popcorn, etc buttons I never used anyway. Just that 30 second button.

Best microwave/combi oven I’ve ever bought. Cooks & grills a frozen pizza in 5 minutes if your in a hurry if the kids have earn’t an occasional , unhealthy treat. Great oven.

My other Microwave Russell Hobbs the old version broken down leaking radiation through the door frame! Purchase this the third generation after my old is much much quite and bit more powerful 800w compare as other is 700w. I can’t see anything faults to report.

Had for around 6 weeks or so now. This model cost half the previous model we’d bought and I figures that for the amount it cost that we couldn’t really go wrong. It is a nice looking unit and the quality seems good for the amount spent. It does have a smaller internal area than our previous model yet we’re still able to fit a full size dinner plate inside. Added bonus is the fact that our teenage daughter can also now grill food without having to use the oven and forgetting to turn it off after use! So, we’re saving lots on electricity use too!

There are no problems with it at all. It seems to be well designed and constructed. The jog dial timer setting is great.
Works fine. However it came with some dirty stains around the handle attachment area which isn’t a big deal to me.

Update: received new microwave without an extra charge, contacted amazon and they send new one instead, even so 1 month was passed.

Very easy to use. No instruction needed. The interior cooking space is quite small but still large enough for a dinner plate.
PROS:
It’s 900W – most microwaves around this price range are about 800W. Having that extra 100W makes a noticeable difference when heating your food. My old microwave was 1200W and while I notice food does take a bit longer in this microwave, it’s really not that bad (and I don’t think I’d want to pay double this just to have a 1200W microwave).
I haven’t actually tried the grill function yet but I like that it exists – it will save me from using lots of energy to heat the grill on my oven.
The buttons and dial are extremely easy to use. Turning the knob clockwise increases the heating time in 10 second increments. You can push the round knob to quickly heat something for 30 seconds, and push it again as many times as you want to add more time in 30s increments. You can also push the knob and dial backwards to go up in 1 minute increments. Simply dialing the knob anti-clockwise (without pushing it) will take you to the maximum time, which is something like 45 minutes. The other buttons are simple and easy to navigate.
The microwave isn’t loud and doesn’t have an obnoxious beep or anything – very pleasant to use.
The Russell Hobbs brand, to me, has always delivered great quality products, which makes me feel that this microwave should last for a long time.
CONS:
The grill sits inside the microwave on the roof, and sort of hangs down a bit. That’s absolutely fine most of the time. I often heat plates of food with a plastic plate cover on top though and it can be a wee bit of a tight fit getting it in with the grill – I tend to have to put the plate cover on the plate before putting the plate in the microwave, rather than being able to put it in after the plate’s in there. But really that’s a very small complaint, and it comes with having a slightly smaller microwave.
Overall I’m really pleased with my purchase. It looks great, works well, and has that extra bit of power compared to other microwaves in the same sort of price range. 🙂
The screw holes fixing the outer casing to the base have been drilled slightly too high on the left hand side so the upper, outer casing doesn’t fit tight but it still works okay so couldn’t be bothered to send it back.

Really nice Microwave and at great price. Went around looking microwaves in shops and for some reason Microwaves have suddenly become massive, heavy and very expensive. This microwave is light small and reasonable price – with good specs. I struggle to see why you would want to pay 180 for something which does not offer anything more than this.

Slightly confusing to use as the instruction manual isn’t clear. It took me ages to find out how to use the weights on it (turn dial to left). Overall good value and I would recommend it.
When defrosting it does get moisture inside, and also for microwaving bread items. Just wipe it out as the instructions say. It does have holes on top of the machine, so you can’t get away with balancing things on top.
The microwave does everything I need of it and to be honest I was happy with the price too. If you want a simple to use microwave with grill then this will pretty much fit the bill for you, if you just want the microwave you could get one cheaper. One thing to mention is that the 20L size is not for anyone who wants a large microwave but for the vast majority of requirements this fits the bill.
Quite noisy in operation compared to last microwave, but acceptable. I expected a stainless interior to match the exterior but it is only painted which is a little more difficult to keep clean. Overall, for the price, it is a good purchase and the seller delivered quickly.
I have only found one real fault with this cooker
The one moan I have is that there is no real help with cooking times in the instructions, there is no recipe book included with the cooker which would have been big help, to a mere male finding out how long to give the various dishes, and how do the times with the Micro oven differ from the gas grill ?

Easy to use, unlike some microwaves I have used before you do not need a degree to operate this one. I mistakingly thought it was stainless steel inside and out; the outside is silver paint.
I have just moved house and needed to purchase a new microwave. So far so good. I have to admit I haven’t explored every function yet. But I am satisfied with the results so far. Good value for the money. Not to large and it fits very well on the work surface. Not taking up to much room.
