Fits my German shepherd perfectly and is a comfortable fit on his nose. It’s definitely helped to make us feel safer when walking him.

Very easy to muzzle train my 6 year old reactive king charles crossbreed. I would suggest a size 1 though if you did have a king charles as it can rub on the eyes. Can’t get it off as it can be attached to the collar. Only took 10 minutes to get used to it!

Edit: Took one star off as the clip ended up getting jammed and couldn’t unclip it. However, I did contact the seller and they kindly replaced it!

Fits my King Charles cross breed perfectly!

Great security. My dog is a flat face breed. It is impossible to find one to fit a big dog. We got size 5 she has plenty of room at the front, and we where able to mould it around her muzzle shape.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersOrdered for our gorgeous 18-month-old German Shepherd Dog. He’s usually on his back, legs in the air – begging for a tummy tickle, but after first visit to groomers began growling – very big surprise to us. Needless to say, we knew he needed to be muzzled for safety. Have tried the other popular brand – he hated it. But this one he seems to tolerate. Only qualm is that the muzzle isn’t the easiest to mould into shape – took us a few attempts of softening in hot water and moulding before we got to a shape that suited his precious snout! Not sure about the top strap (going from nose to middle of head), we’ve taken ours off for now and the muzzle seems secure. TOP TIP: Use a very high value treat – we used smoked salmon (he’s got posh taste).

    GSD woes disappea

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have four jack russells who are related, and get massively over excited when they go out in the car, so the muzzles are essential. We’ve always used these muzzles, but these are the best yet as they clip on and are quicker to get on and off. Excellent design and fit and they can argue as much as they like in the car without hurting each other. Would highly recommend.

I got a size 5 for my lab and it fits well. She doesnt require a muzzle but I do muzzle training in case she ever does need it. I like that you can feed treats through this one.

It’s very well made and sturdy, trying to get my dogs to wear them without trying to pull them off is a work in progress as I’ve only got them delivered today. I will add though that they weren’t successful in pulling them off so that alone gets top marks from me. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 as my dogs collars don’t go through the loop as it’s not wide enough to get them through, so I’ll have to buy two thinner collars to use this feature of it, though my dogs collars are the standard size and not wider than general.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have an intermediate Mexican hairless and bought the smallest size , it fits perfect around her face but I would have liked the straps around her head to be able to be decreased to shorten them more to make it more secure on her head . The straps were moved as far as they could go and I think that they could have had at least two cm more material to be shortened to fit her head better . I liked the idea of the clip to attach to her collar that’s primarily the main thing holding it on her face when she is out . The material is very soft but very robust and the straps are very well made with no rough edges or anything that would rub her face or head

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe found the standard plastic Baskerville pinched our doodle around the nose – it seems far too narrow. This is more curved and fits much better, it’s also a rubber material so softer for the dog. We’ve removed the centre head strap that goes back from the nose to head because it just seemed to get in the way and seemed unnecessary. It’s a good enough fit without it and never slips or falls off. Don’t bother with any of the strap type muzzles because they can hinder breathing and prevent the drinking of water. This is probably the best around but a great shame the tan colour seems impossible to get in the UK, it would have better suited our dogs blond coat.

I bought this for my Sharpei as it was recommended due to the breed’s tiny ears. It does fit the face fairly well but my dog can easily claw it off if I don’t fit the strap just right (behind his neck wrinkles). The strap that goes over his head is useless as the loose part of the strap (after it’s been adjusted) flaps all over the place and gets in his eyes. However, it does fit him well and does the job.

Works perfectly for my unsocialised rescue staff x lab.
She has been lead reactive, at least now I can walk her and take her to socialisation classes without worrying that she might hurt another dog.
One downside, the collar loop didn’t fit my dogs collar, so I have attached a small carabiner clip on it which clips to her collar.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought 2 of these for my Border Terriers because they scavenge on the beach where we live. I don’t think they entirely prevent scavenging in my 2 and one of my dogs hates wearing it and has managed to get his off several times. They do NOT prevent dogs eating poo!
The sizing guide is wrong as size 2 recommended for Border Terriers is far too big and covers their eyes so mine have size 1 which is the smallest.

I had ordered a size 4 previously for my 20kg Staffordshire bull terrier (I had to re order for a SIZE 3 as the 4 was just far too loose and my boy has a fairly small/narrow snout and the SIZE 3 is perfect) as he slit his paw on some glass and has to keep a bandage on for a while and keeps ripping it off, he absolutely HATES the cone you get given from the vets so this was the next best thing.
    It works perfect.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersMy male staffordshire bull terrier thinks he’s a shark since being attacked as a pup. We have worn a muzzle on him for 2 years now, but seen this brand recommended so decided to upgrade. All I can say really is Wow! I hate having to muzzle him but to protect him and other dogs its for the best. This one is definitely much better than our last unbranded one. He can still pant, drink water, have treats passed into it. Size 4 is a very good fit for him too!

I followed the Blue Cross video of how to get the dog used to the muzzle. I wanted it as she is too lively for our older smaller dog.
I put peanut butter inside the end so she could lick it off. It worked a treat and as long as the flavour is still there she makes no attempt to remove the muzzle.

Excellent product, doesn’t come off. I even tie the remaining collar strap to my dogs harness for extra security. My dog is a cross Lab/staffy, she is very strong and doesn’t know her own strength so I have to muzzle her as she doesn’t like all dogs.

  22. Anonymous says:

Easy to get her used to it by putting treats inside and building up time gradually that it is over her muzzle. She still doesn’t love it but if needs be I can use it.
This us the only type of muzzle I would ever use because the dig can pant, drink water, gave treats easily. Dogs have to be able to open their mouths to pant or they die basically and any other muzzle is just cruel

Overall happy – Our dog has used this brand of muzzle for a number of years, and for comfort and safety I’ve always felt it was the best on the market. He still appears to be comfortable wearing this which is important.
However, I really don’t like this ‘improved’ version. The clip is far less easy to adjust than the previous buckle, and doesn’t sit as snugly or well around the face. Equally, this leads to a reduced ability to get the correct fitting on the head strap.
I am not so confident this muzzle would stay in place if put to the test.
For me, the old design was far better, and I will be looking for a muzzle that is closer to that design in future.

This is the best muzzle we have tries. We have bought 4 previously and they either fall off or the strap loosens meaning our dog can still bite.
This muzzle is great. It stays on and there is no chance of him biting. We have renewed confidence when walking him now.
He can breath easily, even when swimming.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor my German Shepherd. He is 2 years and such a sweetie. But he has started jumping on the occasional dog for no reason I can work out. It looks awful as he makes lots of noise and looks as though he will kill them- he does no damage though. He accepted the muzzle no problem and he can still sniff. I’m so much more relaxed – it takes the anticipation of him attacking another dog away. Other dog owners and people with no dog are happier too. It seems well made and he can’t get it off.

I’ve bought three of these muzzle for my old English Bulldog puppy. The first one he outgrew and was too small. The second I miss-measured was too big. This one was just right. 🙂 I really love these and wouldn’t hesitate to buy a fourth if I were ever to need it.

Bought for my 30kg gsd x. He’s never bitter but I believe all dogs should be muzzle trained, in case they get injured as any dog in pain will defend itself. He’s happy to stick his head in and get treats but still doesn’t really like it but that’s ok. These ones are quite heavy so that might be part of the problem. They do feel very sturdy and safe though, good quality. I like the locking snap but not sure when you’d need that.

I’ll probably also get him a greyhound muzzle for when he starts lure coursing again (he sometimes catches the lure). They are significantly lighter so should bother him less.

Our standard poodle seems to cope well wearing this. He doesn’t try and pull it off, unlike a previous muzzle he had (we bought this to see if he would be more comfortable). We like that there is space for him to have his mouth open. The only design ‘flaw’ is the strap that goes up the middle of the dog’s head…but maybe that is the best position for it…

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI got size 1 for my small mixed breed. It fits well (In the photo it was a bit loose but I tightened the over head strap and it stays in place). I followed the instructions and smeared pate on the inside so she was happy while I put it on and gave her lots of treats. She did try to remove it a few times but I distracted her and she soon forgot about it. She seemed better behaved on her walks since using it, I’ve noticed more people steer clear but to me that’s a good thing as she is reactive to strangers.

    Easy to fit, use distractions

I think this is a good product as it allows the dog more freedom than other sorts of muzzles I’ve tried – they can drink, snack and pant without being too restricted. One thing that I would prefer is if the closure was quick release. Being an old-fashioned buckle, it’s a bit fiddly which can be tricky if the dog won’t stand still.

I bought this muzzle for my 6 month old GSD who bullies my other small dog. She has had issues with biting and pinning him so I thought this muzzle would eliminate that, and it did. The basket allows for her to still eat and drink and let’s her pant while running after him and she still has plenty of room to grow into since I bought the size 5. Overall it was an amazing purchase.

I have one of these already but needed one for my other dog who has taken a likening to eating things he shouldn’t out on a walk. I was recommended these muzzles as they allow you dog to pant, open there mouth, lick, drink, (eat treats I put through the gaps) etc.
For me it’s a win win as I know my dog can feel comfortable whilst ensuring there is total safety.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought this and the size guide basically told us we needed a size 1 which we though was odd as we have a bigger dog than a Yorkie. The size guide stipulated that you had to measure the length from just below the eyes to the tip of the nose and around the snout just below the eyes and then of course you compare you measurements with the ones they provide, hence us buying the size 1, which was almost the exact measurements that we had. However we will not be returning it as it ironically fits our other dog who is of similar physical size but has a narrower snout.

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersThis has been one of my best buys. Raina can pant, drink, bark and enjoy the great outdoors wearing this. More importantly, as an experienced Houdini dog, she cannot get it off! And she has tried, many times. Now she happily associates it with outdoor adventures and as it’s so comfortable, lives with it happily.

Do measure accurately though. As you can see, her muzzle fits perfectly, yet it’s a size 4, not the one they say fits a German Shepherd. She is female though and females are generally smaller than males. I measured well and it fit first time.

    An excellent buy!

Secure, comfortable, she can drink, pant and bark. One of my best buys.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this for my rescue dog as he has a few issues. He’s not aggressive but unpredictable and like a lot of rescue animals very misunderstood. He has found it comfortable to wear and it does not stop his enjoyment of running free. He can pant, drink and have treats whist wearing it and it has given me the confidence to know that he cannot cause any harm. I would highly recommend this muzzle. Just make sure you get the right size for your dog and I feel sure you will be as pleased as I am.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersMuzzle training my dog as he’s reactive and has pain issues due to a injury caused by his previous owners. I’ve rarely had to use the muzzle for real, just like to have it as an option, particularly for vet visits where they may need to examine his painful leg. He’s a slim built 15kg SBT and the size 3 fits him well. It must be comfortable as he’s slept in it for a few evenings while he was particularly sore, although I wouldn’t leave him with it on. He did manage to pull it over his top muzzle once so it trapped his lower jaw, I’d not tightened it enough behind his head and trained a little too long, so make sure you tighten it enough. It’s never easy to get treats into a muzzle for training, but this muzzle is probably one of the better options for that. I’d recommend this muzzle, just make sure you fit it well and desensitise your dog to it properly so they’re comfortable wearing it.

  43. Anonymous says:

Only had it for a few hours but it seems great. Muzzles get a bad reputation but this one doesn’t look too scary. The main reason I bought it is for when I need to clip my dog’s nails or clean his ears. Simple tasks that can take ages when you have a dramatic pooch but this made it easy and he could still eat his treats.

I am so pleased with this muzzle, I bought a size 3 for my border collie and she can’t get it off, neither does she seem to mind it being on, she behaves exactly as she always has, one thing I would mention is that the loop for the dogs collar is not very big so you need a thin collar for it, I found that if I used another collar in addition to her normal collar it works very well. I can now have stress free walks with her running free.

  45. Anonymous says:

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy dogs find these comfortable enough to wear and can even sleep with it on.
I only put this on when they’re getting vaccinations as they can be jumpy, and they also have it on when meeting strangers for safety.

I don’t see signs of them being uncomfortable with it on. They can yawn, drink water and eat with it on (hand fed). They can still bark but not as much. This also prevents them from having contact with random things on the ground so it keeps your pets safe as well.

I’ve seen in the description of this product that you can mould it with hot water to suit your dog’s face, but I haven’t tried this one as it fits perfectly with my dog.

Oh, and one more thing – my dogs cant take these muzzles off even if they want to which is always a plus. Just make sure they don’t have it that long. After all, no pet wants to be muzzled for a long amount of time.

Very happy with the fit and so far, my dog hasn’t been able to remove it with just the extra top fastening done up. Unfortunately, indoors, he took it out of my bag and chewed through the front rubber, I tried superglue but that didn’t hold, so it’s now taped together with silver Gorilla Tape. Doesn’t look very pretty but it still does the job and I can relax when out walking.

We brought this for our rescue dog. She’s very reactive when out due to background but this has helped protect and calm her down. We have managed to reduce the use of it now to only using for when new people come in our home until she is settled and calm. It’s big enough for her still to eat treats through and to drink and open her mouth wide enough to pant in the warmer weather. We took the strap off that goes up the snout over the head as she looks menacing enough with the muzzle let a lone that bit too, it helped soften the look a bit.

We tried everything, really, everything, chew toys or bones to keep her busy, to bitter apple spray but she would still chew parts of the car nevertheless. She’s now too big to stay in a dog crate, the size she needs doesn’t fit in my car as I also have my sons carseat. Loved the little booklet that gave suggestions on how to get your dog used to wearing it. I used that along with youtube video’s to help train my dog to accept the muzzle. 3 weeks later she happily wears it. It allows her to pant so perfect for use when out walking which is what i needed it for. Gaps are big enough to deliver treats through but small enough that she can’t bite anything. He did actually take a swipe at the vet with it on, but no harm done, thankfully.
I beautified it with some masking tape too but to be honest the black isn’t so intimidating as he has a black muzzle so I could have left it.

Is only a temporary measure during training but works brilliantly and our pooch doesn’t seemed phased by it (make sure you use lots of positive reinforcement when introducing the muzzle – our pooch looks forward to wearing it now because he knows it’s time for a walk with some treats). Adds extra peace of mind during training and with the laws on ‘dangerous’ dogs.

Sturdy and strong. I can take my large dog out and I know she cannot have a go at another dog. Able to get to treats too while wearing it. Will recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBest muzzle I have bought. I’ve a very nervous dog and have been struggling to put a muzzle on her for the past 6 months. Then I came across this muzzle, and after a few hours of showing my dog the muzzle she let me put it on her! She can drink and eat a treat whilst wearing the muzzle. She’s a medium size, slim mongrel and I bought the medium size muzzle. Came quick and well packaged.

Good fit but getting Dog used to it was a challenge as he had not worn one before. There is a good advice sheet from Dogs Trust on introducing Muzzles that was very useful.

I have given a 4 star rating but the muzzle didn’t fit at all. It looked very good and if you have a dog with a wide muzzle it would be ideal. My lurcher’s muzzle is just too narrow and long, but I did get an ordinary Baskerville muzzle size 6 which is a better fi

Perfect for my English Bull Terrier. Soft enough and roomy enough. I got a size 5 and anything smaller would be too small. It is a standby for any occasion if needed and so far it never has. It is well worth watching Youtube videos on the right way to train a dog to actually want to wear the muzzle so they associate it with treats as oppose to punishment.

Golden Review Award: 110 From Our UsersWe have a rescue dog (Labrador crossed with either a beagle or a spaniel) that has aggression problems around other dogs. We tried the ordinary Baskerville muzzle first but found that our dog had trouble getting treats through it (which is quite important when you are trying to train your dog). We also found that this one is just a bit more comfortable: the plastic is soft and the straps are better placed. Initially we used the top strap as we were afraid that it would come off (it looks bigger than the dog’s muzzle) but after a few months we began to realise that it was not coming off so we ditched the extra strap.

One negative is that the strap uses a metal buckle instead of a clip. While this might be more secure, it’s a bit of a pain. But I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry.

After a couple of problems with running into others dogs even when we try to avoid them and our dog biting them, the muzzle has given us loads for confidence and we can concentrate on making her feel safe and training her. We’ve had no problems with biting since we got the muzzle.

Please note that if you are considering getting a muzzle for your dog, you need to go through extensive muzzle training with them. This requires patience but it must be done. Please don’t just put the muzzle on your dog.

Can’t thank them enough. Brought this and when it came realised its completely the wrong size and my dog hated the thought of it. Returned it to the post-office the same day and was refunded that night. Thank you agai

I bought this for our recently aquired 4 year old rescue Staffy and size 3 fits him perfectly, very nicely made too. It’s made of a soft brushed flexible rubber. We are letting our dog Teddy get comfortable with it by putting treats inside and he is okay with that. Not sure how he will feel about it once it’s strapped on for any period of time though. He’s a nervous dog and I feel happier now knowing he won’t get into any trouble while we’re training him.

I have a very talented GSD who finds it amusing and a challenge to try escape out of everything – I should have named her Houdini. This is the one and only muzzle she can not get off and trust me, she keeps trying every time. Great thing it that she can still drink and eat with it on, if anything it also slows her eating too quickly, she will eat her dry food in 10 secs, with the muzzle on it’ll take her 8-10mins, which is better for her.

Muzzle as described , and protective.
I was advised by my vet to get this type. And what size to get. ( the smallest size). However, my dogs face/ muzzle area, is quite small, and it would be ideal if it was just a little smaller. On the positive, you can feed treats through the front, and it is quite secure when used as stated. Thank you.

Excellent product allows our dog to still be able to take treats and drink water and design means dog can breathe and pant properly. So glad we were told about these and did not use the fabric ones that hinder breathing and a dog’s abilitity to breathe, pant, eat treats or even take a sip of water. This muzzle is by far the best. Just make sure you buy the CORRECT SIZE!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBest quality god muzzle I have ever bought. I used to buy a new muzzle every few weeks as they break too easily., This is the best quality one I have used as they have even survived with my 2 year old (but very large) American Bulldog French Mastiff mixed breed dog chewing on it. The rubber muzzle is very good quality and I am very happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who wants to buy spend money only one time on good quality muzzles.

Very good service! It certainly serves its purpose and the better design of muzzles presently out there from a welfare and comfort approach. I have since seen this muzzle in lighter colours, which makes it a little less forbidding, but obviously everything else is the same. Thank you.

Got this while training my rescue dog, I can easily give him treats while he learns to socialise with the other dogs. Glad I measured him for it, instead of guessing, it fits him well and he can’t get it off even though he tries.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought a size 5 for our male Labrador (28KG) to be used when we have to go to the vets as the waiting area is tiny and he doesn’t get on with all dogs. Just gives me peace of mind and hopefully other dog owners at the vets. It’s a good fit, not had to use the strap over the head but it’s good to have should it be required. I checked it over before use and it’s completely smooth, no rough edges of any kind. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this muzzle to fit my Jack Tzu, not because he is a biter but because when I take him to the vet he does not like to have his nails cut & I do not want to take a chance & have him nip the vet. I will only use it if the vet wants me to, on saying that it is a nice fit for a smallish dog with a small face.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this muzzle compared to my dogs old muzzle. I am using this for a German shepherd and he needs a size 5. The middle strap allows for extra security so my dog can’t dig it of as easily I can still fit his training treats through the muzzle. The delivery was so quick, ordered the wrong size at first but was corrected really quickly. Very pleased with the product and the delivery. -owner’s review

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersGives my dog freedom off the lead! He ate a dead animal carcass that had died of poison and consequently was very ill with liver/pancreas and kidney disease!three days on a drip and approximately 1000. Treatment!
Fortunately he’s now recovering nicely, but the muzzle is perfect for allowing him to enjoy a free running walk without the anxiety of eating something that could kill him ! He can pant and accept tit bits and is now quite tolerant of wearing the muzzle as it represents walkies.
This type was recommended by the vet and size 3 is perfect for my cocker spaniel.

This is a sturdy and comfortable muzzle. My dog can drink and receive titbits through it. He doesn’t mind having it put on at all as long as he is busy. I smoothed cream cheese round the inside to get him happy about putting it on and that worked a treat.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersHorrified when I realised i had to get a muzzle for my newly adopted Chinese Crested boy and bought the brown plastic version in a hurry. It was awful and couldn’t keep it on him it also looked and felt uncomfortable so bought his one and it is absolutely fantastic. The fit and design is far superior. He hasn’t been able to get this one off at all but also hasn’t struggled to do so as much as it is obviously more comfortable for him. In addition to this being able to give him treats has helped enormously. I didn’t find fastening the buckle a problem, although the loop for the collar is a bit too small for the clip fastening on his collar. Having said that he hasn’t needed that so far. The buckle is much easier to do up than the clip on the other model as it doesn’t get caught in all his hair. I have to question the need for the metal fastening for the overhead part though, I found this difficult to get on to the back strap and it all seemed a bit lumpy at the front so I took the metal clip off entirely and reversed the whole thing, the front loop now just slips through the back strap and the adjustable part now attaches to the front and actually lies flat so a big improvement! Not sure what they were thinking here! Highly recommend this!

This is a quality product, even though my dog (and I) would rather she didn’t have to wear it. Size 3 for Staffy is right and gives plenty of room for panting and sniffing key bits along our walking route. Solid and yet soft for her to wear. Good straps which are easy to fit. Would highly recommend – makes me feel less anxious about her reaction to other dogs coming up to her even though she is on her lead (and they aren’t!).

I had to buy a muzzle for my springer spaniel who tends to try and bite people in the face if they try to stoke her after she’s growled at them (some people!) Luckily the muzzle is quite chunky and makes her look a bit vicious, which is brilliant because nobody has dared try to touch her without her permission!

The muzzle is comfortable for her and she hardly minds it at all. And she has no trouble having tip-bits and water while wearing it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy dog hates wearing a muzzle and spends most of his walk doing headstands in an attempt to get this off. He had caught and attacked a muntjack deer that was previously injured by a car, which horrified me. So far he hasn’t got it off but he is determined to keep trying! Presumably he will eventually get used to it. Makes him a bit grumpy with other dogs, where he is normally friendly. I guess he is worried he can’t defend himself if he needs to. At least he can really run and pant and drink whilst wearing this one so its the best Ive tried.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersKaila Bear is an expensive houdini who can contort herself out of various car harnesses. But she can’t get out of this 🙂 It enables her to pant, drink and have treats. I hate having to muzzle her but three terriers went for her, she left them alone, But if she had attacked she would have won. The headlines would say Vicious Staffi attacks dear little dogs and my dog would be the one put to death. The muzzle is well made. The strap could do width rings on the strap holes as it is fiddly to find them at first. I covered the muzzle in pate – biding a bit of set up time. The measurements were accurate for my dog. Would recomend

I had tried the basket type muzzle and my dog hated it and no matter how patient I was the end result was always a sort of panic attack from her. I ordered this one, after I had been using a slip halter to try and keep better control when out for a walk, and she accepted it straight away. A few scrabbling with paws but with lots of praise and treats she is now happy using it and goes off lead without trying to remove it. If anyone is having a problem with another type of muzzle I highly recommend you try this one.

The item was exactly as described and functional. It would be perfect if it was just slightly bigger (as it is a very snug fit on my dog) but this is the largest size Baskerville produce in this style. However, generally happy with it and the excellent service/delivery time as always.

I like the product, very practical and easy for my dogs and it fits no matter that specify size was not mentioned, except L. Just one small note considering this, I receive it yesterday, December 24th instead December 6th-12th as the previous notice said, and it’s good for the company to write specific size and dimensions even for large dogs… Thanks and Merry Christmas.
