Quality plate
Good solid plate, bought to replace a more traditional flat plate with screw fixings. It does not quite fit flush with wall without cutting away more of the plaster around it. In hind sight should have replaced like with like.
Great looking dimmer switch, does what it says on the tin. Just don’t be dumb like me and buy it to control LED (dimmable) bulbs, you need a different version for that.
Beau produit, mais pour lampes hallogènes et boîte d'encastrement non standard
Fonctionnement au top pour mon lustre et mes appliques qui utilisent encore d’anciennes ampoules : rglage prcis, impression de grande robustesse. Mais pour faire fonctionner des LED, j’ai de gros doutes, car gnralement les variateurs sont spcifiques. Quant au botier d’encastrement, attention j’ai d changer mon ancien diamtre 65 pour un diamtre 85 mais ce n’est pas fait pour un format rond avec des vis sur les cts comme le mien, et j’ai eu beaucoup de mal (attaqu le support du variateur la scie mtaux!). Apparemment c’est peut-tre prvu pour une bote carre avec des vis de fixation espaces de seulement 70, moi je ne connais pas ce format donc j’ai fait avec les moyens du bord… Aprs une belle frayeur de rater mon coup, finalement ouf c’est OK (mais l c’est sr, j’ai perdu la garantie, tant pis je prends le risque). C’est mon seul bmol, donc 4 toiles.

Looks very nice, doesn’t buzz as some dimmers do, and it has a satisfying click as you turn up or down. Just be aware that you can’t put 2 dimmers for the same light circuit as they won’t work. I purchased 2 and am using the 2nd elsewhere.
Good quality but the size not as big as described.
Very nice quality switch and works perfectly, but the faceplate size was smaller than described (as 95mm square but is actually 90mm). This meant it didnt quite cover the ‘footprint’ left on the wall by the old switch, so I had to repaint the margin.
These are the best flat plate sockets available in my opinion. Just make sure you have a deep back box for the sockets as they need more of a recess. These look so great.
60W Minimum! Don’t miss this and get caught out like I did. Very nice looking product, and felt well built, much better than another popular dimmer for LEDs. Worked great with my halogens, but not with the LEDs – these buzzed horribly, but they are only 22w total, so not compatible. Returned, but it’s still a nice product. Hopefully someone will sell the Schnieder LED compatible dimmer on Amazon soon.
This is well made and solid, and does the job.
One word of caution: two weeks after fitting this I decided to change my GU10s for LEDs. Unfortunately I got flicker owing to power rating so had to replace this switch with another that feels less well made.
Frustrating, but not the product’s fault.
