Arrived on time but damaged. DO NOT BUY
The microwave is fine and replaces one exactly the same, as I really like it. However, this one arrived with a big scratch on the top and I can’t find an option to contact the seller, so I’ll have to live with it.
Having lived with the damage, less than a year later the door has dropped so that it won’t close. Sharp say this is “physical damage” and isn’t covered under the guarantee. So if the door falls off after a couple of weeks – too bad.
Sharp customer service is non-existent but thanks to Amazon the faulty microwave has been replaced. So thanks to them. The new one doesn’t stand steady and the door looks a bit crooked – as though in transit it might have been dropped on one corner. But it works and when it doesn’t I’ll buy another brand.

It does what it says on the tin. It does seem to get quite smoky and the power button is very hard to press.Each time you press it, the microwave physically moves backwards. Even the timer buttons require some serious energy
Great and easy if you're not my wife
I really like this microwave, I find it very easy to use. The only trouble I have had is explaining to the wife how to use it which I have had to to on several occasions. We can train chimps and send them into space easily but teaching my wife to use a microwave is like rocket science!

We bought this to tide us over whilst our kitchen was redone. Was the cheapest digital microwave we could find. Honestly, my only complaint is that it seems to fill with condensation every time it’s used, but that isn’t a major issue for me. Otherwise it’s easy to use, looks nice, and performs perfectly. It’s perhaps on the small size (we can’t fit a big dinner plate into it) but we wanted something compact anyway so that’s no flaw for me.
I liked this one so much, it’s a like fir like in my motorhome. It’s small, fits in the cupboard and does as expected. I use only for heating up or defrosting on occasions.
No complaints about performance here.

My old Sharp microwave was a very sturdy one but this new one is not as heavy or sturdy and when the button is pushed to open the door the Microwave moves back from it’s position on my work top. Not nearly as good as my old previous Sharp. Just as good in every other way.
Good, yet damaged
It’s clearly been dropped or otherwise mishandled at some stage, as the packaging shows damage as does the corresponding corner of the microwave. Which is disappointing. However, the main unit is uneffected and it still functions.

Perfect … almos
Perfect. This has replaced my old larger combi microwave that actually wasn’t broken, just old, worn, too large and quite honestly I hadn’t used the oven and grill part for years.
This new microwave is smaller, but large enough to enable me to use my large dish and 3 litre jug still (I bought a microwave to fit round them) …… as a lot of microwaves are really small inside. We chose black for a change (always have had white) and it looks quite stylish in the kitchen. Given me more room too.
UPDATE
From my first review of this microwave which I found to be perfect, there is one huge issue I’ve since discovered. CONDENSATION! I’ve never had a microwave do this before and my previous one was a Sharp too and had no issues. Is it the colour? First time I chose not to have a white one. It literally runs with water every time it’s used and the floor of the machine collects a humongous puddle.
I’ve therefore knock 2 stars off my original review – 1 star for the condensation and the 2nd star for having to keep mopping it all up!!
So no I wouldn’t buy this model again.
A Good Microwave
I’ve had the microwave for a month now and it has served us well. We are huge users and it seems to cook at a reasonably fast speed. It does have some sweating after cooking microwave meals for over 8 minutes (thus 4 star rating) but not as much as our previous one. One criticism is I wish the push and go was in 30 second increments and not minute. I love the white colour as it blends well into our white cupboards. This is not a big microwave so no huge roast cooking or plates bigger than a normal dinner plate but that works for us. After much comparison, the price was good for what you got than compared to other comparable models.

It works well
We’ve had it for over a month now and it seems to work well for family use. The size is good – not too big. Also, having a timer that you can use for anything is a useful feature.
Basic but with style. Wanted a small microwave as only gets used to re-heat and this one is perfect. It actually has a control button for perfectly re-heating a plated meal. Simple to use. It does come with easy controls for cooking popcorn, jacket potatoes and pizza, making this perfect for a student bedsit.

Arrived much quicker than expected. Easy to work and big enough to fit a dinner plate or a 1 litre measuring jug. Does build up a lot of condensation during use so having to wipe down the insides after each use but other than that no problems.
I bought this product for my elderly mother who was looking for a “solo” microwave that simply heated food & liquids without the fuss of pushing several buttons i.e. something that wasn’t designed by NASA!! This product fits the bill.
The door is opened via a mechanical push button at the base of the controls – this is easier than pulling a handle, since pushing the button requires less effort. To close, just push the door shut.
The microwave has a “Start/Auto Minute” button, which when pressed once starts the microwave at the power level set for 1 minute. Each time this button is pressed, another minute is added onto the heating time – simple!!
To vary the power level, simply press the “Power Level” button once and this will show “100P” i.e. 100%, which for this model is 800W. Each time further this button is pressed, the power level drops by 20% i.e. 80P, 60P, etc. Continue to press this button will eventually take it back to 100P.
To set the heating time other than in 1 minute increments, press the “Power Level” button once and then the “10min”, “1min” and/or “10sec” buttons until the correct duration is set.
The microwave is small and ideal for compact kitchens. The microwave opening is however large enough to fit a standard dinner plate.

Bought this for my Mum.
She uses it a lot and is working perfectly.
Not sure why there is only a one year warranty but so far it’s had no issues and it’s been over a year.
Does what you’d expect, but the plastic covering over the ‘Start’ button started to blister about a month after we received it. This doesn’t affect the operation but the blistering is bad enough that you can’t read the word anymore. This after being used just 2-3 times per day.
UPDATE: Mr V is correct, the plastic was removeable and obviously there to protect it in transit. I am a sillybilly. 🙂

A smart looking microwave only let down by having no 30 second increment for a quick blast of microwave energy. 60 seconds is shortest duration. Previous microwave did have this.

Nice microwave, very solid build, etc. Only problem was that ours had a crack in the glass door and so it will go back for a refund. Pity.

No issues with this, it works great and has lots of good features. As others have said, it does get a little condensation with long use ie jacket potato on for 10 mins but I use a piece of kitchen roll on the plate which tends to help and then leave the door open for a short while after to clear. Would recommend.

I bought this the i tried to cancel the order, im glad i was unable to cancel it because i love my microwave, i tried to cancel because of some of the reviews where saying that it tended to steam up and peeling inside but though i cannot vouch for the peeling because i have none as of yet, but i definitely do not have any steaming up, only downside about this microwave is that it does not have a 30 sec button, only has a 1 minute but its no biggie, i love it and i do recommend it ! Works like a microwave! My only gripe is the several beeping noises it makes when times up…it’s that loud it wakes my child when she’s napping, so have to be in kitchen to press stop before it beeps!

Lovely looking design …..easy to use display….but the only downfall like most microwaves now is the fact there’s no weight in them so when you need a lot of strength to push the door release button the microwave tips and moves, which means you need both hands to open and steady it, which isn’t practical when you have the dish that’s going into it in
one hand….. I’ve sworn a few times due to this ….. and when you are busy cooking for a large family and rushing about it can drive ya nuts ….but like I said they are all like that now
Much better than the Tower microwave we originally purchased and returned. It functions well, has side ventilation so I use the top to store my coffee and tea. Great little thing that fits a standard dinner plate and we have not had any issues with it. The timer is handy, the buttons feel sturdy and it cooks everything as it should.

I generally have a lot of more expensive kitchen equipment but being near Christmas (when I bought it) and needing something fast I went for this as it had great reviews both on amazon and AO. I was not disappointed and Sharp’s quality is to be commended.
It’s a good sized unit and heats evenly. Controls are nice and easy to use and it looks pretty good too.

It cooks a bit better than the “no-brand” we had before, with less hot and cold patches in food.
Potatoes seem to cause a bit of condensation in the microwave when cooked – we just wipe round the inside afterwards.
It works great – only had it a few months
Our last Sharp eventually suffered a problem with the keypad wearing out so it became unreliable, but that was after maybe 10 years! We replaced that Sharp with a “no brand”, and wished we had stuck to Sharp!
This was a replacement for exactly the same model which we used for more than 10 years. The fact that its still in production speaks for itself. It does everything we want from a microwave oven and the controls are clear and simple – unlike many microwave ovens I have come across.

Bought for an elderly neighbour. His previous one corroded inside but I think this was because it did not get wiped out after heating soup. We have always had a Sharp although ours is a combination oven, and are pleased with it. Our last one was 20 years old when it gave up! Too soon to tell if our neighbour will be as fortunate!

I just plugged it in and it worked like a dream.
Almost identical to my previous one so I didn’t have to learn too much new stuff. The instructions that came with it were *real* instructions!

Seems to be going strong so far. One criticism is that the plastic wrapper on the button console starts to bubble after using the product for 2-3 days. Also the clock resets if you pull the plug – although i dont expect a microwave to have a Real Time clock.

Great microwave. Smaller than my last one but ideal as just need it for warming up standard plates of food and it does the job perfectly. It DOES have a clock contrary to what some reviewers have said. And while pressing the start button does increase time in one minute intervals, it is very easy to just press power once and then the minute or ten second buttons to get the exact amount time you want. It shifts a bit on the counter when I press the door button but otherwise is a great microwave, does the job and am extremely happy with it.

Very smart looking came quickly works well, one issue is that it’s quite small inside compared to my old microwave, also you are best to wipe inside after use as it holds a lot of condensation.
I bought this on a rash consumer decision as price was reduced and it looked smart, and old microwave had died after 10 years of great service, hope this one does the same.

So far so good, we will see. But don’t forget to add Amazon 3Year cover for 9, it is a no brainer at that price, so 49 for the microwave plus 9 for the cover equals 58 and gives total no worry for three years.

The only drawback is when you open the door the microwave slides a little on the worktop.

There is nothing wrong with this microwave, but I just don’t like it very much, having had a Panasonic previously. Gets very wet inside from the steam.

At the moment it works and the design looks retro and I like it.the front panel is very well designed and easy to use and so far it seems a good buy.we shall wait and see tune in to this channel 2 MONTH TIME.

*JUST ONE IMPORTANT NOTE* This may have been down to my own ignorance, but there is a piece of shiny cardboard type material on the inside of the microwave on the right-hand side that MUST NOT be removed. When I opened the microwave I thought it was packaging and removed it. When I double checked in the manual I saw that this was actually a Wave Guide Cover and that the microwave should not be used without it. Luckily they sell spares online so I managed to replace it at a minor cost and very little hassle. The lesson here is: ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL and READ IT THOROUGHLY.

smaller than i thought it would be. chose it because it had the same functions as my old microwave. the only fault with it is it only just takes a large dinner plate. every time you use it you have to reset the turntable beacuse it is hard to remove the plate without the turntable becoming dislodged. easy instructions on how to use it.
Lovely microwave. Not as sturdy as old one which was 30 years old. Tends to move about when opening and closing door. Steams up during use but soon clears when door left open. Considering it is an 800 watt, would have thought it would cook quicker than my old 600 watt but it doesn’t. Perhaps the old microwave wasn’t performing correctly. Makes lovely porridge

This is the second R272SLM we have purchased after our Son blew up the first one. We like it as it’s fairly simple to use and not too bulky.
Does everything our old and bigger one did.
Bought this to replace our broken ‘sharp’ microwave which has been fantastic and is why we went for another Sharp.
This one is a little bit smaller than our old one but still takes our plates and items we used before.
It looks very smart and fits on our worktop better than the bigger one.

Good selection of easy buttons suitable for everyday use without having to work too hard. Glass plate inside not very stable, have to keep placing it back on tiny little trivet pegs in centre. Otherwise, good product for the money
This Microwave was brought for my mum, she is very happy with it, it is compact and yet powerful, the clock is easy to set, and has lots of additional programs to use if you want to. it Fits nicely into a small space so would be ideal for a motor home or static caravan or in to a built in space in kitchen units. Bought this microwave as a replacement, as ours unfortunately broke in a house move! We’ve had it for about a month now.
Generally, the microwave is good. It does it’s job and is easy to use. I like the digital display – our previous microwave was on a more “traditional” timer, so could be a little more difficult to get timings perfect. However, I would say it is a little on the small side – we can just about fit an average sized dining plate in it (great for the worktop though!) There’s only the two of us so we don’t really find this too much of an issue.
We paid 52 for the microwave – perhaps a little pricey, but, it does the job and is easy to use, so happy with the item itself.
Good high power microwave however one of issues is that it has 1min step autostart, 30 sec would have been better. Beyond that I don’t use much functionality so not much to comment. BTW it has a kitchen timer which is handy.
For years i have only had a manual microwave as my elderly grandfather lives with us and needed something simple for him to use. Unfortunately my microwave went to heaven and a replacement was needed quickly. After reading the reviews i am so glad i picked this one. What can i say, its fantastic for him, all he has to do is push the start button and it warms he’s sasauge rolls for 1 min, if he needs it longer he just keeps pushing the button and it goes up by a minute. The only down side is, if you cook liquid in it for a longer than 5 mins the steam is quite bad inside the micro, but i found living the door open for a minute or so once you remove item helps, if not a little wipe down with a tea towel takes a second and resolves the problem. All in all im very happy with this product and would definately buy this make again.

Really good microwave I wanted a small one as I only have a small kitchen,
only fault is the digital front snags easily when pushing the buttons and soon looks scruffy, which is a shame when you have a new product.
I bought this to replace broken one in a holiday cottage so haven’t used it myself other than to set the time. But looks good so I’m happy so far.
Bought to replace its predecessor ( another Sharp, in fact the immediate forerunner model) which sadly expired for no apparent reason after 18 months. No worries, at the price, I was only slightly put out, these are so cheap it’s not worth even paying for extended guarantee…For the amount of use it got even in a domestic environment, the price was a bargain.
If you want a smaller Micro as a backup for conventional cookers, especially reheating etc, this ticks all the boxes I have. You could save a few quid on a different manufacturer, but I like the Sharp product…
My last Sharp microwave lasted 27yrs so I decided once again to go with Sharp as most of small microwaves would not take my meat plates of 261/2cm or were too low for my jug of 12cm. With this one I can fit in both my plate and jug, seperately of course. I only had manual operating but have got used with this one now having had it since 21st May and am getting to like all it has to offer compared with my old model.
