Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo impressed with this Spacetalk watch! We previously purchased a Kids O Clock but the battery died after a year and could not be replaced. The Spacetalk watch is a million times better – being able to text with my daughter is a huge plus that the other brands don’t offer. The app is super easy to use and I love being able to check my daughters location at any time. My daughter is 10 so too young for a phone but I need to be able to contact her when I change school pick up times or when she’s at after school/weekend activities. The peace of mind it gives me is priceless. I have pre-set phone numbers for her so she can contact family (but she can’t contact any numbers I haven’t inputted). It’s definitely brought us a few years before she’ll be asking for a phone! I had thought my 8 year old was too young for a watch like this but it’s so easy to use (and has no social media!) so we are now going to purchase my younger daughter one as well. I was so happy with how easy it was to set up the watch and the delivery was crazy fast (48 hours after I placed the order). I hadn’t added my husband to her allowed contacts and he tried to message my daughter. I got a notification on my phone that an unlisted number had tried to contact the watch and it gave me the contact details – very impressive and what an awesome way to keep our kids safe! Don’t hesitate when making this purchase – you won’t regret it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrilliant watch for a child. The gps tracking is accurate, the messaging and texting functions are easy to use. I love the fact that the parents have to add contacts via the parent app and the child can only message approved contacts. This watch gives us so much peace of mind when our child isn’t home. Will be buying another next year for our other child too.

Great watch for my daughter she loves it and so easy to use the app. It really puts my mind at ease being able to keep in touch and it helps her confidence to be more independent.

Great item to keep in touch with your child and keep track of their whereabouts. Let’s the child get a bit excited by the watch and taking calls on it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis was fairly easy to set up once you got the SIM card in.
The app is mostly straightforward to use to set up and monitor use.
I like that way you can set up school hours and the only contacts they can use are the ones you enter on the app.
If you are worried about where you child is going the GPS is a good feature.
My daughter is 7 and it’s quite large on her wrist but she says it’s comfy. Couple of times are school she’s taken it off as it’s got in the way of her work.
The notifications about charging and when it’s been removed from the wrist are handy.
It does say to charge every night and it definitely needs it.
The charging port is strange. It’s hard to get it to sit correctly unless it’s on a very flat surface. It would have been much easier if you could have plugged the charging wire directly into the watch or if the magnetic connection was stronger.
If you are looking for a way to keep in touch with your child without them having a phone this is ideal.

This is a brilliant watch for kids. It is so easy for them to use and absolutely perfect for keeping track of where they are and makes communicating with them so easy. Much better than sending them out with a phone which gets broken or lost. This watch has brought me so much peace of mind. My child absolutely loves it as it means he can give me a quick call if he’s running late or needs something but he isn’t worried about keeping track of a phone. His friends have all asked their parents for one too! He charges it himself each night so he has it every day. Great purchase!

Works ok has survived better than others we tried that claimed to be water proof .

We had to subscribe to the service app with the parent control phone .

The charger pad is difficult to keep attached In the right place, requires a bit of fiddling .

8yr old finds it hard to put on his wrist and it hurts to press the stud through the holes although may get easier over time , we attached the watch to a lanyard and he wears it around his neck or has it in his school bag . Would be good if the straps were replaceable with regular brands .

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPlease read below to see how I rate products.

I did a lot of research before I made this purchase and looked at several competitors. Ultimately I made my decision based on the easy of use, friendliness of the app and ruggedness of the watch. The Spacetalk Adventurer by far outweighed the competition on all three of the factors but the app was what made the decision easy for me.

Setup of was super easy and all I needed to do was insert the sim card and sign up with my provider. Once this was done the rest was a breeze. Spacetalk even included a screen protector and extra port covers because we all know kids will lose the covers. There is a QR code in the instructions in case I had any issues but I did not.

Downloading the app was next, which for me is for Android and once downloaded the setup for it was also super easy.

As far as features go I am not sure which one I like best. Having the GPS locator is great and is the main feature I wanted but the idea that it has no social media access is genius. I want to be able to control my kids time when they use it and for my youngest I am not ready for him to have access yet. This feature gives me piece of mind that they won’t be on the social media sites.

The SOS feature is great too since it allows them to contact me if/when an emergency comes up and I can also control who they are able to chat with or make phone calls to all through the app.

I also really like the “Safe Zone” feature, which allows me to create “geo fences” and if they venture outside the fence I get a notification. It even will send me a notification if they don’t arrive at a specific place (like school) at the expected time.

Not that my son would take off the watch but if he does (or even worse, if someone else takes it off) I will receive a notification.

Spacetalk is an Australian based wireless provider so I really like the idea that they designed this from scratch. It isn’t something they just picked up from a factory in China. It is well thought out, well designed and made for both children and their parents.

There are many more features about this watch that I love and I could go on but I think you get the idea.

I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to a friend.

    How I rate products:

When I give a rating to a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.
    1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four-star rating but may get five stars base on other factors customer service, good instruction manual, etc.
    2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)
    3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)
    4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations. I hate poorly written instructions
    5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars
    6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star
Additionally, if a product fails over a short time period I will come back and update my review but will also take into consideration how the company’s customer service handles the repair or replacement. I understand that issues sometime arise, even with the best of products and a rating update may not be necessary.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGPS seems working very well even when my kid were in the 4 days school trip in the forest. Ordered a replacement because the first watch had speaker issue, the sounds were full of static. The second one also went with static once but recover once we turned down a bit of the volume. Wish the charging is more stable as the magnetic pad went loose very easily. The power can finish in one day. Pros: GPS accurate. Beautiful color and my kid loves it even though there’s no internet and game function. Take beautiful photos though I can’t find the way to download them….

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this for my son and he loves it! He’s too young for a phone in my opinion and would loose or damage it anyway when out playing. With this watch, you can call him any time and vice versa, also has text, voice message, GPS, no internet browser – which is good!, School mode and more. Can check his location with the GPS. Bought outright as in Ireland – available in UK via SKY i believe for an inclusive monthly cost. We pay Eur5/month for the Spacetalk app and then Eur10/month for a service plan. Runs a little expensive, but for the age of the child its better than giving them a phone too early – already enough tablets and smart tv’s in the house. Recommended !!
