Version with all 3 games in disc, confirmed
Purchased on March 11th 2022 directly from Amazon and fortunately it is the version with all 3 games on disc, not needing any mandatory download to play them all.
Besides running the disc to check it, this “complete” reprint can be differentiated from the “incomplete” one by the added Crash Team Racing insert and by the “2019” after the copyright symbol on the disc.

Newer Stock versions of the game have all 3 games on the disc
When this released in 2018 , many fans were upset that only 1 game on the disc and you had to download the other two.
Luckily if you buy the game new nowadays , there’s a fair chance you’ll get a copy of the game with all 3 games on the Disc !!!
At some point in 2019 there was a reissue of the game , with all 3 games on the disc.
Unfortunately you probably won’t know which version until you open the box , because both versions use the exact same box art.
The older retail disc version will have 2018 printed on the disc. The newer one will have 2019 printed on the disc.
Regardless of which one you get , both come in the exactly the same box which has 2018 printed on it.
Another way to find out if not buying this online, is that the 2019 disc comes with a leaflet advertising Crash Bandicoot Racing inside the box too. So you might hear a piece of paper rattling around if you shake the box gently.
Also I have heard the 2019 discs definitely come in the Crash Racing and Spyro Trilogy double bundle pack box , which is quite hard to find right now.
I bought the Spyro Trilogy recently directly from Amazon brand new and was in luck and received a newer stock version which had the 2019 disc in it. When I installed the game , all 3 games were installed within half an hour of running the disc (36GB) and I was not prompted for a download of any kind on the PS4 console.
Hopefully most of the current stock in most video game retailers contain the 2019 disc version. Avoid the 2018 disc version if you want to void downloading th other two Spyro Games. Good luck if you find one.

Pure Nostalgia
Played the originals when they came out. This was a trip down memory lane. Amazing game, they have been remastered brilliantly.
3 games I would recommend
First of all, I haven’t played the original games, so there is nothing nostalgic about this review. The games are fun to play, look great and have interesting and funny characters in each one of them. However, some things could have been better. First real issue is those annoying flight levels. Bot only the controls are quite bad, you can’t change them, so the dragon handles like an airplane which makes sense from one point of view, but after you face the same in the water – you’ll learn to hate this part of the game. And if these controls don’t bother you, time limit you have on each such level will – sometimes you have less than a second left when you do the last thing on such level even when your flight was flawless. Then there are some bosses which are quite tough to beat and lack of checkpoints makes it not enjoyable part of the game too. One boss was so annoying that I haven’t finished the 2nd game (platinumed the 3rd one though). But overall all 3 games are nice despite the mentioned drawbacks.

Preordered as I was so excited to play this classic! Arrived on release day brand new wrapped and perfect condition! Soon as it arrived had it on and playing for hours! Well worth a buy if you love Spyro!
Fantastic mix of exploration, collecting and puzzle solving
Apart from a minigame on a PS1 demo disc, I hadn’t played any of the Spyro games before. But I decided to give it a go, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed.
The games have an awesome mix of exploration and collecting, with a fun range of enemies and puzzles. The boses can be tough at times, but the majority of goons can be killed in one hit as long as you use the right attack.
There’s a nice balance between the amount of collecting you *have* to do in order to finish the story vs the amount you can do if that’s your style of game. There’s then a selection of skill points and trophies for those that like an added challenge.
My biggest complaint is that when you fail a side mission, it gets completely reset. You could have collected 49/50 gears before falling down a hole, and they’ll make you have to do it all over again. And to make matters worse, it doesn’t save the intro speech so you have to fast tap through that over, and over and over… Thats probably how it was in the original games, but it feels outdated now. I would have preferred the option to Continue, Restart or Exit once you failed, just to speed things up and stop it getting repetitive and tedious for the more challenging levels that take several attempts.
Overall the game functioned fine and looked gorgeous compared to screenshots of the originals. I’ve definitely got my money worth – it’s just a shame there won’t be new ones.
And I’ve seen many complaints about only one game being on the disc. Once I popped the disc in it automatically downloaded the others and took no longer than a standard patch for a new game. It wasn’t locked to a downloads code so the game can be share/resold. I guess there’s a slightly concern of what happens in 20 years time when I want to replay it, but maybe it will be remastered again for the PS9?!

Fun to play even for adults. I haven’t play this games since first edition so is pretty amazing. Should be more games like this reborn to show kids they don’t need to be aggressive all the time or learn how to buy guns or whatever.what is wrong. Omg!!! This is a blast from the past and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! Bought it originally for my daughter as she loves dragons and I told her about spyro etc so we ordered it. She loves it and now where in lock down, after she’s done some school work, we play on this together for a couple of hours. A shame it’s only one player though, but still absolutely brilliant!!!!!!

Although it is not the original. It is an upgrade of it, and still as all the charm it once had. Updated graphics and original actor. Entertaining and wel with a purchase for any Spyro fan out there.

Hours of fun!
Oh wow, a piece of my childhood! I purchased this for my daughter as I remembered playing it when I was young. We have spent hours together, collecting gems, finding dragons and carching thieves! I am not embarrassed to say that at almost 30, I have been spending my evenings sitting down to play this game. It has become addictive all over again. I love how they have remastered the game and the characters look amazing! Would definitely recommend to all!
Very cute. Great graphics. Storyline interesting also. My daughter likes it. But it does get a bit boring sometimes just wandering about breathing fire. Not sure she’ll finish it.

Amazing Trilogy, Remastered to Perfection!
Ive grew up playing Spyro the dragon on the PlayStation. So when the remaster was announced I was over the moon and excited to jump back in to play this game and complete the original trilogy one last time.
When you Insert the disc you will have to download/install spyro 2 and 3, since only spyro the dragon is pre-loaded on the disc, now with that being said that isn’t a big issue so that wont be taken into consideration when im doing the star overall rating. But for people who hate going online or people who dont have WiFi (yes I know a few people who dont have wifi in there house) then it could be a issue.
Now onto the gameplay or more importantly the graphics! Now if your like me and grew up playing the originals, then you would know what the PS1 graphics were capable back in the day and what spyro was like in term of texture and quality. With the remaster they really out did themselves, the menu looks amazing, the game world is astonishing and even the guidebook is majestic.
When they made this game they build it from the ground up, meaning that started from fresh and didn’t use the original coding from the original trilogies. So each level was designed from scratch, and even the controls got a make over and they feel incredible. Especially with the camera angels being a major improvement, because we all know what they were like back in the day. They even brought the barrel role from spyro 1 into the other games, so now we can use that to our advantage on certain bosses from spyro 2 and 3.
Speedways are now more clearer to see, mainly to do with the render distance. So now we can see the whole map rendered and can see further images on screen off in the distance in focuses and clearer to make out.
Bonus levels like with hunter and sparks are also improved, although with hunter level they may need to do a slight update because on some levels in the speedways when you go to find hunter to do the bonus game you may find hunter to be slower then spyro, thus makes it hard on one level where you have hunter shooting bugler cats of buildings and spyro has to collect the money bags. Other then that the levels look brilliant.
Cutscenes have a bit more dialog and show a lot more then the originals did. This is mainly because the games back then could only have a certain amount of pixel on screen and how much memory was being used on the cutscene, so in the remastered they added more scenes to the cutscenes making them a bit longer, but much more enjoyable.
With any game there are faults, and upon playing I didn’t find any issues that made the game unplayable, but in some cases I did find some faults with glitches, but only spyro 3 had the most glitches and I mean the most, I might of found 2 or 3 with the first 2 games, but with spyro 3 it felt as if the developers rushed the last portion of the game. So hopefully they fix this in the near future.
The other issue I found was with Hunters character design. I Never like his design from Heroes Tail, and that what his design in the remastered game reminds me off, If they could redesign him like the old days then that would be a lot better, but taking inspiration from Heroes Tail is like saying the Legend of spyro hunters design was second choice.
Overall this game is amazing, had a lot of fun playing it and reminiscing of the old days, playing this as a kid and beating levels much easier then I remember then, but this might be down to the remaster and the controls that go with it, but overall its a game worth getting and its a game worth pacing down from generation to generation.

Who doesn't love Spyro?
Brings back fond memories of sliding the disc into my PlayStation 1 as an 8 year old. An exceptional remaster, the graphical revamp is fantastic and the sound is excellent. Highly recommended for those slightly-older gamers looking for a bit of nostalgia.

Best Remaster I Have Ever Played, Keeps True To Franchise
I bought the Jak and Daxter remaster and I was not impressed, no graphical updates or anything else controls fixed a little bit. This is on a level with the Crash remaster, it keeps true to the franchise whilst accurately recreating the pure nostalgia of the older version of the games.

Amazing remake!
A fantastic remake! As a huge fan of the three original Spyro games on the PS1 I couldn’t be happier with these remakes. The graphics are amazing! All of the environments and characters have recieved a colourful and beautiful revamp, while remaining faithful to the style of the originals. The gameplay is smooth, and much improved on the PS1 games. The games are so fun to play, and most importantly Spyro is absolutely adorable!
The three games do have to be downloaded individually, while connected to the internet, which is a slight pain, but it certainly doesn’t detract from the experience of these games. I highly recommend this product for, both, fans of the Spyro games since the PS1 days, and those who have never been introduced to the franchise.

A Great Nostalgia Trip, With bugs along the way.
It is amazing that Spyro has been brought to the modern generation with modern controls and expansive visuals. The amount of care the developers have put into the games can be easily seen. The same fun can be found within the levels, with the difficulty of the game being far reduced from the original.
There are a lot of problems with the Spyro Remaster, most become more prominent as you get further on. Repeatedly through Sgt.Byrd levels, I had problems with the camera shooting into the ceiling and getting stuck in till I die. Massive lag spikes, and crashes on loading levels. This became more frequent on the second and third runs through the game.

Was dying to get this the moment it was announced and don’t regret it in the slightest. It’s amazing just how much you could remember after so many years, but yet it all just came flowing back! The speedway levels were just as soul destroying as i remembered as a child, but alas, i dont think id have it any other way. If you loved playing the original games on the ps1, i highly recommend giving the remake a go. Arrived super early on release day safe and sound.
Nostalgic and highly addictive!
After reading some of the bad reviews I was cynical before buying this. However, as a massive Spyro fan and someone who played these games to death back in the day, I couldn’t resist! I’m so glad I bought this! Yes, you have to download Ripto’s Rage and Year Of The Dragon, but I hardly noticed they were downloading in the background as I played the first game!
The games remastered are amazing to see. Gameplay is exactly the same and so are all the levels. Everything has been remade to look more HD and some of the characters look a lot less pixilated than the PS1 versions! Absolutely brilliant and incrdicbly addictive. These games have brought back plenty of memories! Would recommend to any fans.
Childhood memories relived.
Loved this game as a kid so had to buy it for my PS4. Took hours to download 2 games out of the 3 due to slow internet connection but once completed I’m happy reliving my childhood memories. Only downfall is not having 3 physical discs to play all 3 games separately. Definitely worth it though
