Well recived gif
Purchased this as a gift for friends they have advised me that it works very well for them and they are enjoying having tea in bed before getting ready for work makes for a more relaxed start to the working day. The alarm is good. and the light on the clock face is dimmable so does not cause a problem.
All perfect until the delivery
The item arrived as promised and although it spend a certain amount of time in the rain (we had our porch door open and it was lighted). Fortunately. only the outer carton was soak to be bone. Inside, the box was dry and ready to be used. Thank you.
Teasmade
Good service arrived so quick my husband is so happy.
On 25/02/2021 the teasmade stopped working and we are still waiting to receive e-mail and details from Swan so we can return it to be repaired , or a new one issued.
What is happening i have not received any details.
Old favourite but still grea
Why have these excellent tea makers gone out of fashion? In the 1960’s and 70’s it was the luxery of waking to fresh brewed tea that made these teamakers a ‘must have’ retirement gift or present from children to parents. What has changed? We still drink lots of tea and we still wake thinking ‘I could do with a nice cuppa’. So thank goodness Somebody is still selling them!
Fantastic product easy to use .Very pleased.
Very clear instructions, Ready in seconds. Love my early morning tea
Tea in bed every morning!
I love my teasmade. Lovely fresh tea in bed every morning without having to get up. Extra special on cold mornings but equally good all year long. I’ve had a Swan teasmade for many years so this replaced my old one so don’t know how I’d live without this little luxury.
Nice hot cuppa
This is only our 3rd Teasmade in 53 years so that tells you how good they are.
Morning cuppa
Excellent clock /alarm
Excellent teas maid facility
A really good all rounde
Traditional design but does a great job
Bought to replace an old model. Just the same design but great for morning tea
Absolutely fantastic, I love it!
I have a brew in bed most mornings so this is the perfect solution to not having to get up to make one. I was a bit bothered that the clock would tick as it so close to my bedside, but I can’t hear a thing. It’s compact and the handy tray on top is a brilliant addition.
I really can’t think of a negative. The tea is hot, you get 2 decent sized cups, it’s easy to fill, just perfect, I just don’t know why I didn’t think of having one years ago .
Great while it works, but they seem to have reliability issues
This Teasmade is just what is needed to brew two mugs of tea to wake you up, the alarm sound is not very loud but usually gets through and the alarm setting needs a bit of getting used to, the alarm hand needs to be set a bit earlier than you want it to go off, not by much and a bit of experimentation soon sorts it out. Depends how accurate you need it to be.
HOWEVER, this must be about the fifth one of these I have had in 6 or 7 years, two have been replaced inside the 2 year warranty (never a problem with returns and refunds ). They suffered one of three faults, either;
The kettle just did not switch on automatically (manual override was ok).
The kettle began to boil but stopped too soon.
Or the kettle failed completely.
If there was another machine on the market I would have bought it, but this is the only one I’ve found which does what I want.
If you want to hot mugs of tea to wake you up then this does the job, but be prepared for the odd problem.
Instant tea in the mirning
It is very well designed and accommodates room for milk jug and cup and saucer.
Mornings made bearable.
I bought this Teasmade to help cushion the shock of having to wake up in the morning and it has been brilliant. I can sit there in the dark sipping a lovely hot cup of tea with my eyes closed until I feel almost human and can face turning on the light and crawling out of bed. I’ve had none of the problems that other reviewers have mentioned – everything works fine, and you can dim the light on the clock to a perfectly acceptable level. It’s been a great buy and I only wish I’d got one years ago. The pot holds enough water to do 2 mugs of tea, so if my husband needs a cup there’s enough for him too.
Tea in bed
There is nothing quite like a nice cup of tea first thing in the morning which is made for you you only have to pour it. Winderful
A excellent produc
I really like this tea maker. It is very quick & safe to use. no more going up and down the stairs to make a cup of tea
Spoil Yourself
I had one of these many years ago and loved it. I thought I would treat myself and it is perfect. So that I have just bought my Daughter an son.in.law one. And they say, and I agree, a lovely way to begin the morning and very good value
Quality
Delighted with this product so easy to use and great price
Does the job but the clock doesn't keep time
It makes the tea alright but the clock loses several minutes a day (In the 21st century they ought to be able to make a clock that keeps time!).
The teapot lid has two lugs on it that are easily broken off. Not a good design.
Fantastic Tea make
Its great to wake up to a cuppa without having to leave my bed. Great gift for an oldie.
eally nice produc
a modern take on the teas maid , looks great and works really well , hot cup of tea waiting for me in the morning
aditio
he design has been the best now for decades – and it works!
It works
Great machine. One problem I need to discuss with Sean. The clock hands are out of sync. .
Teasmade
Very compact light weight, smart looking ,easy to clean, I have had a teasmade for the last 40years and this is one of the best I’ve had.
Easy to use, tray on top is useful addition.
Used it to make morning tea. Just need to check that the teapot touched the switch at the back of the unit and that the light is on after setting the time for it to work.
Good tea but accurate timing is difficul
Yes it makes a good tea but setting the time is a bit hit or miss. The timer hand is very short and doesn’t reach the numbers, even at 6 or 12 so it’s a case of try it then adjust until you get it right. If you want to keep changing the alarm time it could be a problem. If I need to have a different alarm time I use my separate alarm clock and then manually turn on the teasmade. It only takes a few minutes to boil. The other disappointment is that the light is at the bottom of the dial. It would give a better light if it were at the top.
Good safety features
This has been my best lockdown purchase.
I’ve waited until now to review this product because I wanted to make sure I’d used it for a while.
I set it all up the night before. It wont work if the tank is empty,or the teapot isn’t precisely placed which are good safety features. I have no need to use the alarm feature, but I’m sure it would be useful for a lot of people. The clock is a bit disappointing at night,I cant get the light to the right brightness.
If you’d like a cup of tea freshly made, or a coffee(I use sachets of milk & coffee)this is a great little machine.
wake up to a perfect cuppa
have always wanted one of my own , my Gran had one , so a bit of nostalgia in the mix too , love love love i
Lovely vintage teasmade
Bought for my mam and dad to have a cuppa in bed and they absolutely love it. Looks great also
Wish it came in black
Perfect , does the job it’s made for but do wish there was a black one, in fact various colours would be a great idea so you can co-ordinate with your bedroom decor.
Must Have Item
Have had a Teasmade for ages my old one broke and this is a direct replacement. Use it every morning.
Tea on tap!
his is for a present but had one myself and i love it!
Does what it says on the box
Quick and efficient boil. Excellent retro look with modern functions
Brew in bed
Cup of tea in bed, best way to start the day
Fantastic gif
My Mum has one in the 70’s and always said she wished she never gave it to a charity shop, so I bought her this for her 73rd birthday she over moon with it, think I buy myself one soon as I love a cupper in the morning
Makes a good cuppa well
Bought as a gift my daughter is very happy with her morning cuppa
You know when you’ve got old that you want a teasmaid! Lol love i
It’s makes a good cuppa
I love my teasmaid, nice to lay in bed and listen to it making my morning cuppa, do find the light a bit too bright even at its dimmes
Great way to wake up, I have a nice pot of tea in bed before firing up my coffee machine in the kitchen.
Love the noise this makes – I moved it away from the bedside table to a chest of drawers by the foot of the bed, makes the clock easier to see (set to minimum brightness its okay), and the boiling sound is not as loud. Not so keen on the shrill alarm after the kettle has boiled.
Get some of those milk jiggers/sticks too as I’ve had a few milk related incidents where a small jug of milk has been off by the morning!
I bought a second 3rd party teapot for it, quality not as good as the original.
I went for the classic version rather than the ‘modern’, which weirdly probably looks more dated than the classic version.
Using Yorkshire tea or Twining’s English breakfast bags, with Brita water (hard water area). Not descaled it yet but will make sure that I do to extend the life of the machine.
Excellent teasmade
Excellent teasmade, clock is great, the light can be dimmed (sadly not turned off completely at night), so I face it 90 to the bed, so faces the other way. If you’re not bothered by a very little bit of light, then it’s great.
The clock is quiet, and it boils the water and makes a great cup of tea, does it’s job well.
Wake up to a cuppa
I had a radio teasmade many years ago. It gave up the ghost after years of faithful service. I decided in my prime years to get another to save the long walk to kitchen and wait for kettle to boil. Now I fill this, set the timer and am woken up by the sound of boiling water being poured into teapot. I drink lemon tea so no need to prepare teapot with teabags just pour straight into ready prepped mug, and there you have it, fresh cup of tea, in bed, without the hassle.
I love this.. reminds me of my grandparents.
Makes a good cup of tea. Simple to use and the water really does boil not just heat up. You can set the alarm so you can wake up to the tea being made, of course you have to add milk after if you have. It’s great, should have got one years ago.
Changed my life!
This has changed my life! Now every morning I wake up to a pot of tea in bed, and when I am at my desk working, a pot of tea is just a button press away. Love it!
Delighted with it!
Very easy to operate. Works perfectly. Very happy with i
Nice to wake up with cup of tea already
Good. More compact than previous models. Like the lid- doesn’t fall off when pouring out the tea
Very pleased
I’m very pleased with product it’s easy to use and it came 3 days early
very well made
It is in use to make our morning cup of tea.
Can I Give 6 Stars - Perfect !
It is so nice to wake up to a lovely fresh pot of perfect tea – this is brilliant, very very happy.
Thought this was a great idea as I’m always getting up to make the mrs tea, when she saw it by the side of her bed she said she’s not old enough for one yet, ? So it got sent back and I’m still woken up to make the pissing tea
brillia
love everything about it and i have bought another one for my friend
No bright ligh
No bright lights; no loud ticking; nice cup of tea
The perfect morning tea
Just perfect for that perfect cup of tea in the morning, shame you still have to get up and pee though.
Noisy but great cuppa
Nostalgia yes but it’s great to wake up with a cup of tea
East to assemble and use
A great product. Bought this as a gift for my Mother. The item arrived on time, was easy to assemble and has been very reliable so far. She likes the look of it too.
Brilliant would recommend
Product is brilliant, used every day, no problems, drink is ho
Tea in bed
What’s not to like about a brew ready when you wake up. Very sleek and excellent quality
Alarm not loud enough to wake ,e
Very good useing one for years since Goblin made them nice to wake up to cuppa
We had been looking for a teasmade machine for quite a while but they were very expensive so we stayed with just having a Dolce Gusto coffee machine. This teasmade came up on suggested items and the price was reasonably realistic so I ordered it. Also ordered one for mother in law for Christmas.
Very easy to set up and use but there are a couple of niggly things – one is the design of the lid of the pot and the way it ‘locks’ into place so when you’re pouring, it feels like the lid is going to fall off. I use my nails to keep it in place but the lid gets incredibly hot. The other niggle is there is nothing inside the pot to stop the tea bags from blocking the spout so you have to keep swilling then back away from the spout.
Silly little things that I’m surprised haven’t been sorted over the years but other than that, we’re really pleased with i
Great teas made.
We have had one model or another of a tea maker throughout fifty years of marriage. The down side of this one is that the clock is too bright, but if you turn it down you can’t read the time. It does made a lovely cup of tea though! The only way to start the day!
Love my teammaid
Love my swan teammade great to wake up in the morning with a pot of tea made ready
90 per cent ok
Oval dial with very short alarm hand makes alarm difficult to set accurately.
Poorly designed lid.
Lid lobes are very fragile and don’t line up properly with the arrow.po
good produc
Good product, leaked a little after a while but still working
great cup of tea
Great to have a cup of tea in the morning. works really well. bit gright light but can be covered easily. easy to clean and use, full marks
A Good Cup of Tea
This tea maker is very easy o use and quick. Makes a lovely cup of tea first thing in the morning.
Swan STM201N Vintage Teasmade
Excellent product, very accurate, clock face lighting is dimmable and the item easy to clean.
Swan Teasmade
Very useful and straightforward to use. Only critism is that alarm hand (for setting alarm time) is too short to be accurate.
We’ve had a teasmade for many years and had to replace our old one. The new one is better in some respects but also worse in other respects.
Better – area around filling point better sealed.
Worse – Can’t turn light off altogether, top no longer flat so can’t put tray on top, volume slightly less so can’t make two large mugs of tea.
The new teasmade blew its plug fuse but on replacement of the fuse doesn’t seem to have repeated the event.
This is an excellent produc
This teas-made is easy to set up, is well made and will hopefully last as long as its preducesse
Our very best friend to wake up to
That we can dim the light is a big plus factor.also very pleased with prompt delivery
The first one I bought from another outlet the lid did not fit so I ordered from amazon
I love this machine simple to use and lovely to get a cup of tea without going downstairs, you have to be a bit organised. I have a small flask I use to bring milk up each night and I have a tea tin with a supply of teabags ready.
The tray on top is perfect for holding two middle size cups . I think I need a biscuit tin upstairs as well lol x
My husband thinks the tick was a bit loud but he seems to have got used to it,
The light was bright even on lowest setting but I’ve moved the machine and it’s ok now
We love i
Tick tock
Went for retro version as it has flat top for cup storage. Works very well and brews water very quick. Downside….light is distracting at night and can’t be switched totally off, clock tick is loud..you can get used to but it can become annoying.
sleek design, nice tray feature on the top to hold your cups. Light feature to be able to see the time which is dimmable.
I like the retro style it is so much more practical. Fits nicely on the bedside table. I am really happy with it.
Have used teasmades for forty years (!) but the previous Swan was a snail-shape, with a curved top and nowhere to put cups/saucers overnight, this one has a flat tray on top, like the older ones, much more space conscious for a small bedside cabinet. The light isn’t great, yes you can dim it, but it lights from the bottom right corner only, and I defy anyone to read the clock with the long irregular light and shadows this causes, especially when the brightness is turned down a bit. The teapot is smaller than previous models, you do get two decent size cups of tea, plus around a quarter cup topup for each, older models (except the ‘snail’) would give a couple of cups each for two people. Hey ho, someone has to get up and trot to the kitchen for seconds! The tick sound, criticised by some, isn’t loud enough to be offensive (and yes, I do still have good hearing!), perhaps more describable as ‘comforting’, but definitely audible. Only a 12 hour clock, traditional, diaspar was always thus, so I can’t complain about that. In general, a solid feeling, not unattractive, well laid out unit with tray, not too bright or noisy, that makes tea on time, and doesn’t leak! Job done. Would buy again (if needed…)
Wonderful
Love this little machine!
Had a teasmade over 40 years ago and had forgotten all about them to be honest. So glad I’ve found it again..so simple to use and wake up with a lovely cuppa each morning…I use bottled water to help with limescale reduction. Thoroughly recommend..10/10
Excelle
Excellent item. It was a good white no shades of :- grey, blue, or cream. I’m very please with the purchase.
Exactly what was required!
This was our third replacement of the Teasmade we received as a wedding present in 1966. As with its predecessors it has already proved invaluable. It was ordered on Sunday afternoon and delivered 800 miles away in South West France less than 3 days later.
WE LOVE THIS NOW WE ARE RETIRED
WE LOVE THIS NOW WE ARE RETIRED.AND ENJOY BEING ABLE TO MAKE TEA WITHOUT ONE OF US GOING DOWNSTAIRS. RECOMMENDED
Swan Teasmade
Very pleased with my swan teasmade had one years ago and really liked it this is why I went for another swan teasmade as the first one was used a lot.
Rapid Teasmade
Well designed, easy to use but ticking noise from clock can be distracting.
Very impressed
An excellent product, we wake up every morning to tea. It makes a hot decent size cup of tea.
Super!
Super for early morning tea! No down and up to the kitchen. I should have bought one years ago. Quality and delivery excellent.
Four Stars
Worked as expected but my wife complained that the ticking of the analogue keeps her awake!
Makes a great mug of tea!
Does the job. Arrived quickly.Would just note that light is unsuitable to read by. It illuminates the clock face is all.
Love it. Tried it straightaway and it works a treat. It’s not too noisy as it boils and it’s piping hot. I love the little light around the clock face. You can also adjust its brightness. It doesn’t come with a cup but no biggie. The pot is big enough for a nice big mug or even two.
Can’t wait to be woken up in the morning to a brew.
Very happy. Thanks.
Purchased to replace a previous Teas made (the blue faced model) which only lasted four years and then developed a leak and shorted out. So far this model works well and has a clock that is readable.
Bought is as a present for my boyfriend. He ...
Bought is as a present for my boyfriend. He loves it.
It is quite noisy when the water boils, but if you use it as an alarm clock this could be seen as a positive plus.
Excellent value for money
Ordered for my dad, from my mum. they are both over the moon. Fantastic product, like the one they had when they were first married
Otherwise a great buy.
Tick is a bit loud, but I’m getting used to it. Otherwise a great buy.
Bought to replace an elderly teasmade. Very quick to boil but I miss the light coming on when tea is ready. Light stays on all the time so it’s turned down to lowest setting overnight, but all in all a great improvement.
Warning: Do not buy this teasmaid if you want to use the alarm.
The clock on this teas aid makes it impossible to set the alarm precisely. If I had not bought it from Amadzon I would have returned it. In comparison to the Swan teas aid I had for 15/16 years this teas aid is dis functional.
Tea pot a bit heavy but a fab item for ...
Tea pot a bit heavy but a fab item for someone who is unable to get a cup of tea when they wake in the morning
Great teas made. Looks fab and works brilliant, making 2 lovely cups of tea in a pot, with out having to get out of bed in the morning. Only criticism is why have they added a ticking clock? Bloody annoying and pointless…if i wanted a ticking clock I would have bought an old wind up alarm clock!
Love it.
Much better than previous model as you can dim the light. Luckily this is my second so I knew that you had to make sure the teapot was in the right position for the little Red light to come on indicating that the alarm had set successfully. It’s slightly more fiddly than the previous model, but absolutely fine once you’ve done it once.
bought as a present for somebody – they could not get it to work and then realised they had not plugged it in. Works wonderfully now
have had teasmade for many years but as normal they need replacing every so often the Vintage model is exactly like the ones from 20 odd years ago brought up to modern electronics etc. It is a great machine, the dimmable light is a welcome change!! This model is very compact compared to the standard new model and takes up less space bur does a perfect job.
Teasmade
I am very happy with this product. The only thing I find a little awkward is that the light can only be adjusted by removing the tray.
Anyone for Tea
I bought this as a present for my daughter. the price was good and delivery on time. As for its usage i will have to wait until she tells me
but not happy!!
The first delivery failed to work – did not boil and the replacement did not work either – clock did not work. We are out of pocket because the return postage from Spain to the UK is more than the postage you have refunded. Sorry, but not happy!!!
Swan Teasmade review - by Margaret in Australia
Swan Teasmade arrived safely and on time. It has certainly met my expectations and is quite a novelty – as far as I can see, there are no other teasmades available in Australia. I do not use it every day as I often have to up and about early, but when I do, it is very good
I am very pleased with my Swan Vintage Teasmade. Excellent cup of tea. Thank you
