Electric ShowersElectric Showers require cold water only which is heated instantly to provide a hot shower. – An electric shower only heats the water you use once the shower is switched on. It does not use the hot water heated or stored by the household water system – An electric shower is always ready to use 24 hours a day seven days a week -The higher the kilowatt power rating (kW) the better performance and greater the flow of heated water | Mixer ShowersMixer showers require hot and cold water which is ‘mixed’ together to provide a hot shower. – Mixer showers use the hot water heated by the household water system – Generally produce higher flow rates compared to electric showers – Mixer showers must be matched to your household water system. High pressure systems such as combi boilers, are ideal for mixer showers -Add a pump on a low pressure systems to to boost water flow rates | Power ShowersPower showers require hot and cold water which is ‘mixed’ together and the built in pump increases water flow, to provide a hot shower. -Power showers are made for use on low pressure systems only. An internal pump increases the flow of water to provide a powerful shower – Power showers are not to be confused with electric showers as they do not heat water -Generally produce higher flow rates than electric showers and many mixer showers |
Gravity fed hot water system
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed.
Gravity fed hot water system with Booster Pump
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is increased due to the addition of a Booster Pump.
Unvented System
An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage.
Combination Boiler
A combi – boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Competent showe
This replaced a same model shower but of a higher wattage which was too much for the wiring. Installation was straightforward as all the connections, screw holes, etc were in the same place as for the old shower. The shower is warm enough is use.
New showe
Direct replacement for my original shower that broke after 8 years.. took 30 mins to replace by myself
Nice and hot showe
Hopefully this is very easy to install like the last one? Haven’t installed it yet but will update when it’s installed.
Fairly easy install but exagerated access
Fairly easy to install although multiple access points for water and power is a false description. Works well though with simple controls.
Does the job
Installed as a replacement for a similar shower, very easy to install took less than an hour and gives good heat, pressure could’ve done with being a little bit stronger but it is only an 8.5kw but it does the job
Bought to replace an existing unit. Easy to install
I bought this to replace an identical model that was already installed when we bought the property. Removing the existing one and installing this replacement was very easy. I do a bit of DIY and the only thing I would warn others is to check if you have a new olive for your 15mm compression water supply compression joint before starting the job.
Excluding the time getting an olive the removal, tidy/clean, and installation took about 2 hours.
IMPORTANT Follow the instructions for priming the water heater before switching the unit on.
Works well and is economical to run.
Triton T70GSI
Very pleased with the product good quality, will recommend well worth the money.
Brillia
I already had this shower unit so it was a straight swap. My last one lasted over three years. Abbey I let you know.
Once again I can’t fault amazo
Not Easy To Install
Thought it would be easy to install a Triton shower where there had been one previously. This was not the case. Assumptions are made by Triton that you have access to a 15mm ring and fittings. Fortunately I did have these but the sealing ring did not fit snuggly onto the 15mm plastic pipe on the shower as would have been expected and required a lot of messing to try and get it in place.
Good shower.
I have just fitted one of these today but I did not buy it from Amazon. I wanted a Triton to replace our old Triton unit which I fitted many years ago. When I replaced my shower the last time the screw positions and entry points were exactly the same so it was an easy exchange, this one is slightly different so a bit of drilling was required but no problem. So in all very happy.
Easy to fit and reliable
I was replacing an older model, so it was quite a simple straightforward replacement.
The instructions are clear.
All plumbed in, wired up – tested and everything works perfectly.
Shower riser rail, hose and breathable shower head all included.
Totally recommended.
I bought this because it was an easy install- I can remember how much trouble my dad had when he fitted the last shower for me. Judging from the complete lack of swearing coming from the bathroom during install, I can surmise that it was really simple to do. There are a variety of intake pipes, so it doesn’t really matter what your original shower is plumbed in like- this shower will cater for it. Our shower is also pretty tight with the electricity at the back, as the cable doesn’t have much slack, but again due to the variety of inputs, this was easy to overcome.
The shower is easy to use- turn the top dial to the red dot for a hot shower, or select one of the other options for a cooler soak. Bottom dial turns to alter the temperature. The temperature is great- it can get HOT!, and the pressure is pretty good too, considering we have installed upstairs where the water pressure is questionable at times. The water hose wasn’t great, and there was water spraying out when we originally set everything up, but I swapped it out to the one from the old shower and there were no more leaks. Not sure if I got one that was defective or if this is an issue with the brand. But, a wee cheap hose from B&M fits better than the one supplied with the shower. Oh, and you need to get a washer to install as well- cheap enough to get from screwfix or somewhere similar, or even just order online. But it is a small adapter to fit the water pipes onto the unit. Just bear this in mind when you decide to set it up.
The warranty was very easy to sign up for, and you can upload proof of purchase to save any issues finding it later on if required.
I would buy this shower again.
Great shower. Was a replacement for a Triton 80Z, and though it lacks the power-on light the T80 has, this shower is better. I liked the range of the temperature control knob, and the pressure seems better than the old shower.
The wall fitting holes are in the same place as the T80 which was useful, and it was generally easy to install.
The Triton T70gsi is an excellent, high quality electric shower.
However, we purchased this to directly replace our existing, 7 year old, apparently identical Triton T70gsi, but this model is now ‘water efficient’ which results in it being less powerful, giving a lower water pressure and flow despite being fitted directly to the SAME existing water supply pipework – what a shame!!
Its a shower alrigh
Ok, its a shower, stand under it and you get wet simple!
Power is a little low so dont expect a lot of hot water but that being said for the price its a good option for lets say a spare bathroom but is a little weak for your daily wetting machine.
fitted easily and easy to operate does the job
fitted easily and easy to operate does the job. However is used for a B&B room so does not get used every day but cannot see this being a problem
I bought this unit as a replacement for a previous Triton shower that has been in the property since I moved into it. As someone who works in Technical support for a major retailer (Not Amazon) I’ am a fairly hands on person anyway but the installation process if you are simply swapping over a previous unit for a new one is as I was doing it is relatively simple and may not require a plumber if your connections are ready for it.
My only advise would be for anyone in a similar situation to me would simply be to be wary of the this claim that this is simple to install as the product description implies, All that really means is that the water intake nozzle to which you connect you to your own pipework can be flipped to take the water feed from either the left or the right side. A novel idea but if you have no pipework in place don’t think this means its something that can be easily installed without a live electrical feed or a flowing water feed already in place. If you are simply swapping this over a previous unit then it is easy to install.. If not then its a different matter and you are better off getting a handyman to do it.
Anyway as for the product itself… No complaints..
lovely shower, bought to replace my old one which ...
lovely shower , bought to replace my old one which was at least 12 years old so hope this one lasts that long .
Four Stars
Got what I expected and satisfied price was very reasonable compared to other places
