This is great for sanitising items with hot steam to remove or kills bacteria or other microbes.

I like it very much for steaming the sofa, cushions, jackets, etc.

It’s very reassuring to know that you’ve had a “spring clean” with this steamer.

    Love it very much!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! AAA+++

This steamer worked really well at removing creases without the need to iron my shirts. I hung up my clothes up on a hanger, and apply the steam then the creases fall out. This model has a turbo mode button on the back which when pressed speeds up the heating of the water.

The water container at the end of the steamer is a good side and did not leak. Excellent unit.

    Removes creases well

Build quality of the device is very good. It’s sturdy and lightweight enough to control for long steaming sessions.

It heats up every time in just under 30 seconds, which is excellent for those who are often in a rush. The head isn’t too big, so it’s easy to cover every nook and cranny of a piece of clothing. It’s fairly easy to steam out the armpits specifically, which is an issue I’ve had with my previous larger steamer.

It works especially well on silk, and finishes up heavily creased cotton shirts in about two minutes. The different settings make this a very versatile option to suit all fabrics. I managed to steam my linen curtains with no issue.

The trigger lock is a nifty feature to get continuous steam (makes steaming a lot easier!).

It doesn’t completely replace an iron, but is a great hassle-free option to use when in a hurry or on a lazy day. I’d be happy to recommend it.

Honestly I have used a few steamers in my time but I can’t get over how quickly this does it’s job!
I’ve attached a video which isn’t the best because I do believe that you need two hands to do this effectively and not put more creases into your clothes like I did!

You get 2 extra attachments for upholstery, 2 stream levels, one of which is delicate and the other turbo, for more stubborn creases and apart from taking creases out of your clothes this is also a brilliant sanitizer for clothes, upholstery, pillows, cushions and even kids plush toys. You get 3 microfiber covers which can be hand washed after use, ready to use for next time.

Overall this is a powerful and worthwhile steamer to purchase that’s easy to hold and use!

It heats up really quickly and provides a great amount of steam.
The lead is pretty long too so it has a long enough reach for most things.

    Absolutely perfect steame

This hand steamer is very easy to use, I used it on a range of items including new curtains and a dress. It takes a little bit of time to work but it made the wrinkles come out quite easily. It can be used both horizontally and vertically which makes it useful for different items of clothes.

The wire is nice and long which means I didn’t need to use an extension lead at all. It is easy to use with the instruction manual included. My favourite part is it doesn’t leave water marks like other steamers I have had in the past.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI ordered this Tefal steamer because we have a smaller version of a handheld steamer which we really like and use on a regular basis. Power wise, with 2000 watts and able to deliver 30-90g steam per minute, this product is in a completely different league.

We found that it was easy to remove the water tank just by sliding up the button on the back of the handle but we did need to use a jug in order to fill the small hole in the container with tap water. Surprisingly rapid to heat up we were ready to go in seconds after the blue light stopped flashing and turned to constant.

To try this for the first time we just hung a very creased shirt on a hanger over a wardrobe door. However, because of the amount of steam and heat produced I think we will need to think about where we use the product in future. If you regularly used the steamer with garments hung on a door I think that over time the door might suffer from repeated garment steaming. I don’t know why but my wife seemed particularly pleased when I said that I would be able to use this steamer to iron my own shirts! I should have said that I was only joking. I did, however, find it very easy to use and very effective in removing the creases in our test garment. Personally I find ironing about as exciting as mowing the lawn so, should I have to, I would rather reach for the Tefal than our iron.

My wife said that because of the weight of the steamer she would probably find this quite tiring to use for any great length of time but could see it being useful for a refresh of clothes before wearing. I am not sure that this would entirely replace our normal iron and I’m not sure that it is supposed to.

For the power that this steamer produces the price of around 89.99 is reasonable and it is a convenient and effective tool to have.

We were impressed with the flexibility the Tefal steamer which has two power settings – one for delicate fabrics and a turbo setting for heavier fabrics, but also a 3 second steam boost and a continuous steam setting. Very comprehensive controls.

My wife was particularly interested in the sanitising effect that this product promises and liked the clean fresh smell of the fabrics after using the steamer. Consequently she now plans to steam clean our curtains and soft furnishings using the fabric brush attachment.

I have given this product a steaming 5 stars as it’s clearly very well made, is powerful (but can be gentle if needed) and it’s quick to get going. I even like the look of it!!

The Tefal Garment Steamer is a powerful and highly effective steamer with many uses. Impressive.

Tefal is a renowned brand for household. It first made its reputation in making top notch quality non-stick cooking dishes. And till date they are one of the best. It is a trusted brand. With technology moving forward they expanded their range to appliances and I know that till today I am still in the market for an Actifry which is basically one of the most effective airfryer. With that in mind, it was no brainer to recognise that when I a handheld clothes steamer from them, it was definitely not going to let me down.
The clothes steamer is not a new concept but making it portable, handheld and lightweight has been the trend lately.
Certainly, if I search amazon for a handheld, there will be a tonne of results but tefal will offcourse stand out with its brand name. Being a premium brand means, the price will also be premium. But if I keep scouring in Amazon I am bound to bag any item with a great deal so i just anyone to track the item for a time and then buy it when the price falls as with any other items.
On to the item features itself. The handheld steamer boasts a 2000w powerful heating system. I found the claim that it can straighten difficult creases easily to be not far from truth. The steams is powerful.
I am not a fan nor can I validate the claim that it sanitises clothes. I mean It is a steamer and therefore hot and therefore is likely to get rid of germs and what not but I normally steam washed clothes after its dried as that is when it is most creases.
The size is slightly bulky compared to a lot of alternatives. The reason could be due the power inside. In terms of looks, I would definitely recommend the Black and Copper one. That model looks awesome. I went for the safe Black and silver but I am not disappointed.
It being a handheld model, one can’t expect the device to hold too much water. So on my personal use, I find myself frequently topping up the water. But with 25 sec heated time, it is not that annoying.
There is the standard locking mechanism as with any other alternative. There is not power control neither any heat control but I wouldn’t have expected that anyways as those feature is likely to contribute to the item being more heavy weight and those features are not as useful as most people. would have used the steamer in full blast mode ideally.
One of the great feature is the microfibre attachment. Although I haven’t tried it out on removing lint and hair as normally I would steam washed clothes. But nevertheless, It is a feature to look forward.
My optimism stems from the brand name, the basic exposure I had so far and the fact that I ordered from amazon. Buy with confidence and I would always recommend to track for few days to see if the price drops before purchasing.

This is quite a bulky piece of equipment and handling it takes a bit of getting used to.
However it is very effective in getting rid of creases and dust and germs from most fabrics which I have tried.
With a heat-up time of 25 seconds, it is time saving. With a normal steam output of 30g per minute and a booster output of 90g it is pretty powerful. There is however no danger of burning and damp spots are avoided so clothes are ready to wear immediately.
The water tank holds 0.2 litre and gives up to 10 minutes of steaming.

    Recommendable time saver.

Boy do i love this. I am a lazy ironer, as in i wont iron anything unless i need to wear it. Most of my clothes havent been ironed in years because they dont need to be due to the fabric they are. However sometimes tops and trousers get a little creased in the wardrobe and need an iron before you go out. This will not give you an iron effect, if your garment is heavily creased you will need to get the iron out, but for a light creasing this is perfect.

You fill the tank up with water and turn on, i put essential oils in my tank, just 2 drops to make my clothes smell extra lovely. I used Lemongrass but you can use anything you like. If you wont want to risk oils, you can also use scented ironing water.

It is also extremely impressive on pet bedding, my dog has incontinence and this has been a great way of keeping it nice and refreshed. When i do that i also use lavender oil because it helps them drift gently off to sleep.

Comes with 2 extra heads, a microfibre pad with an elasticated cover, and a brush head. You get 3 elasticated covers in total. The cord is a nice length, but if i am going to be super picky, it would have been nice to have had a cloth pouch to keep everything in.

    Tefal Handheld Garment Steamer.

Once you have tried a handheld clothes steamer, you will be a convert. What I like the most is the steamer only takes a twenty five seconds to get up to temperature. The DT8250G0 unlike similar handheld steamers is a massive 2000 watts. You don’t need an ironing board, to use the steamer. I simply hang my clothes and the steam does the rest. You can iron a long sleeved shirt in just a few seconds. You will be surprised how many clothing items you can iron with a ten minute run time.

We saw a similar Tefal steamer being used in a clothes shop and asked the assistant what name it was and whether she liked it. She glowed in her praise of it. When this one came up for review, I jumped at the chance. We are really enjoying using it. It’s easy, quick and effective. It’s not the same as an iron, for sure, but it works really well on many items. I think you will be impressed also with the quality of construction.

I do think that Tefal, with many of its products designed and made in their factory in France, is a top brand for this kind of household item. We have two of their steam generators and have just had the old one fully refurbished by the company all at a bargain price (69.00) and for what they have done, that was a bargain. I just can’t fault their products or their excellent customer service. 10/10 teal – well done.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI must admit, I was a bit sceptical about this item, but have been pleasantly surprised by it.

The item is a bit bigger than I expected (see photos) but doesn’t feel unduly heavy to me. The grip is comfortable and the item feels well balanced. It’s a bit like holding a battery powered drill.

It took me a little while to find the water tank — push up a button on the rear and slide the bottom section out to the rear. Remove the rubber stopper to reveal the filling hole (see photos).

Next plug in and press the power button on the rear at the top. There’s a trigger to start the steam, and this can be locked in the ‘on’ position by simply sliding a button downward, just beneath the trigger. This is a single action, you don’t have to pull the trigger before sliding the locking switch.

We recently hung some thick, heavy black-out curtains in our kitchen and also some ‘sheer’ (semi-transparent) curtains that keep the flies out when our back door is open. Both had very noticeable creases in them, that only became really noticeable after they were hung.

I used the steamer on the sheer curtains first. I thought to myself as I was working on them ‘this isn’t going to work, the steam is just going straight through’, but I was wrong, and after, maybe 10 minutes (and these are 2m long curtains), the creases were hardly noticeable at all. I guess a further 10 minutes would have removed them completely.

I moved on to the heavy thick curtains, and again, after a few minutes of working on some really stubborn creases, these were reduced to being hardly visible.

Just to manage expectations though, when steaming items that are on coat hangers, this would be great for things like T shirts and trousers, but I imagine not for formal shirts — items that you would actually choose to add creases to (if that makes sense) — items that need that pointed end of a flat iron to get into those corners of the garment.

I would imagine that using this steamer on a counter top with a heat-proof ironing mat beneath the garment would also work well. Good for bed linen too — steaming the item ‘in situ’.

I can see myself using this item regularly and for years to come. The main use is likely to be for those situations when you’re about to go out and realise that the item you want to wear is creased, but you don’t have time to set up the ironing board and heat up the iron. This steamer is good to go in just a few seconds and can make a creased garment look respectable in about 2 or 3 minutes.

As others have noted, a larger water reservoir would be nice. I haven’t timed it, but if I locked the trigger in place and just continuously steamed, I guess the reservoir would need to be refilled after about 5 to 10 minutes.

Over all though, this item gets my recommendation. I hope this review was useful.

    It works!

I was sceptical when I first switched this on, it didn’t seem to be taking any creases out of garments. Once I’d changed my technique slightly though I found it to be so quick and easy for ironing things that are hard or fiddly to iron on a board (longer dresses, jumpsuits etc) and when I popped the microfibre head on and used it on my recently washed but badly creased sofa cushions I was amazed at how grubby the microfibre cover got – washing them on a gentle wash clearly hadn’t removed all the dirt or bacteria. They dried within minutes and look, feel and smell much cleaner.

This does go through water quite quickly so it wouldn’t suit me for everyday ironing use, but alongside a traditional iron it’s great. You can sanitise and take the creases out of everything from furniture and bedding to curtains, and even your best dresses or suits. There are two settings, one for delicates and one for everything else. It can be used horizontally or vertically which makes it very versatile. You can lock the steam on so it’s continuous or just use the trigger as and when you want to. It heats up in under half a minute, you don’t need anything but somewhere to hang a garment you want ironing, so it’s ideal for last minute ironing if you’re going out in something that needs a bit of spruce up after being hung in a wardrobe.

It’s not the lightest clothes steamer so I wouldn’t pack it in my luggage for a holiday, but it is the best one I’ve used. I do have a cheaper one but I’ve never had any success with it getting creases out of anything. This has quite a high price tag but it’s worth it!

    Great!

This was typical Tefal quality. I travel a lot and often my shirt come out of my case ok but not perfect (keep the plastic dry cleaning back on) however this is nice and small and does a great job of moving creases out of a shirt and sometimes your jacket. Obviously use the hotel room iron for trousers etc.

This is a strange product, when holding it first time feels like a EAN shopping code scanner… nevertheless it’s wonderful.

This steamer is not an iron replacement, you cannot use it on bedsheets, and you’ll not get perfectly pressed trousers with it what you get is great too.

Imagine you just washed your t-shirts, shirts etc, then dried them (hanging or in a dryer) and you don’t feel like ironing them… this machine will let you remove creases within few minutes while your shirts are hanging on their hangers. It literally takes a couple of minutes.

My wife said this is a machine for lazy people (like me) who don’t want to iron, yet want fairly nicely looking shirts… you can just do it few minutes before using the shirt.

The water tank in the handle is relatively small (it has to be otherwise the steamer would be too big and heavy) but this is enough for 2-3 garments and refilling is quick. It hears up in less than a minute and off you go.

I am very impressed, giving it 4.5 start as it’s not perfect, but it’s more than good enough and the time saving vs iron is amazing!

These handheld steamers are never (unfortunately) going to replace a standard iron for the most stubborn wrinkles on your most important smart wear minutes before going out to a work function or the like. Saying that though, this excellent little handheld Tefal “Steam force” does a good job replacing an iron in the “can I get away with wearing this? — When really they have too many wrinkles to wear” scenarios.

It works well after a little adjusting period (having ironed with an actual iron all my life). It’s easy to both use and hold, ergonomically designed and although I personally wouldn’t bring it on any work trips unless they’re extended, travel worth enough to come with you if needed.

It works at it’s best when there’s no stubborn wrinkles or creases, or you’ve got on an ironboard as a work surface (though at that point, you could use an iron!) as creases will come out a lot easier. With particularly stubborn creases, I’ve found putting as much effort into it as I would with an iron, which defeats the purpose a bit for me!

My other half is a nurse and she finds it as a super nifty gadget to have. In terms of smarting up a uniform that’ll definitely get progressively worse throughout the day AND having the benefit of getting rid of any germs, viruses or bacteria she definitely uses it every other day (compared to every other month with an iron!).

Not quite a full iron replaceme

I have lots of tefal appliances and everything has been great quality so I wanted to try this steamer out.
This product is for basically steam cleaning clothes and fabrics.
It cleans and gets rid of bacteria and also gets creases out of clothes.
The appliance is quite heavy but not too bad, it’s easy to monevour around clothes or sofa etc
You get 2 different brush heads, the fabric brush and the steam bonnet.
There Is a crease attachment you can use to press trousers easily.
The lint pad is used to remove animal hair and lint.
The water tank is at the bottom of the item and you unlock is by pulling upwards, you just fill it up with tap water.
Overall it takes a bit of time to get use to everything and the different attachments but I’ve had great results so far. I’ve tried this on my sofa that is in need of a deep clean and it made such a big difference.
Feels very strong and heavy, wire doesn’t get in the way and easy to use once you have the hang of it.

    Great results so fa

Only negative is that it doesn’t really explain how to use the extra head attachments.

I have to be honest and say that before I received this Garment Steamer via the Vine Program, I had never used one before, and I have definitely been missing out! This is a great machine, even at 74.99 (price at time of review).
It is fairly simple to set up and begin using and despite others problems I didn’t have any start up issues personally. It’s not the same as ironing, but it’s great for freshening up clothing and straightening items in a hurry when taking them from the drawer or wardrobe.
I have also used it to give my curtains and bedding a tidy up as well as using it to freshen up my soft furnishings and the children’s and my teddy bear collections, it really is very versatile.
It isn’t very light and does feel heavy after using it for a while, but it isn’t designed to be used for hours in end so this is a minor problem. My only minor irritation is that the cord could be longer, but I just use an extension lead and this solves the problem.
I love the reversible micro fibre pad as it removes hair and lint and then you can flip it over to take care of all the tinier dust particles. Also the 3X power boost is great on heavier textiles or thicker items.
Overall this is a great product and a new love in my home as we have all had a go with it and equally love it. It is a 5 star item that I happily recommend to anyone looking for this type of product as it doesn’t disappoint.
I hope that this review has been helpful to you in deciding whether this is the right product for you.

It has 3 steam settings mini for delicates and maxi for deeper creases, it also has a booster setting for even more steam. All these settings are activated using the switch on the rear of the unit.
The water tank is easily removable and is filled through a hole which is covered with a bung. The trigger can be set so that it steams only when pressed – or it can be double clicked to ensure a continuous steam.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersLove the steamer itself, cannot fault it – it’s brilliant and better than any other I’ve had. Just to mention, that there is a metal hanger supplied that is designed to hook over a door, and then you hang your clothes off it. this hanger has dangerous, Razor sharp edges, I sliced my finger open on this and I was handling it pretty carefully. Why Tefal has allowed an accessory like this to be supplied with one of their products is simply staggering. When you put any product to market, there need to be procedures for health and safety to ensure that products and accessories supplied are safe to use. This has certainly been overlooked I feel.

The Steamer itself though is brilliant and highly recommended.

I have enjoyed using this Tefal Pur Text handheld steamer. I assumed it would replace my usual iron but it really is a different product. This handheld steamer is great for quickly refreshing clothes that might have already been ironed before or that don’t need very precise ironing. For example it worked fine on a dress that had a lot of creases in it, the steam did a great job to get them out very quickly and to just freshen up the dress. The device is still quite chunky (probably similar in size to my iron!) and it needs plugging into mains power to run.

The steamer is 4-in-1. You can also use it to sanitise, a facemask for instance. As it kills 99.9% of bacteria.
You can use it to clean/de-lint to remove dust, lint and hair and lastly you can use it with your favourite fragrance to give your clothes a nice fresh smell.

You would pay more than 100 for a steam generator, so this is good value in comparison.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs other reviewers pointed out, this handheld garment steamer is difficult to get going due to the issue with the air bubbles in the tubing. It would all be relatively OK if that was mentioned in the instruction manual, so you would be aware that it is part of the set-up procedure, and although it is not the most convenient thing to do, at least you wouldn’t think the device is broken.
If I hadn’t read the other reviews I would have written that I have received the broken device, since after following the instructions the device wouldn’t work no matter what I did, only after I turned the device upside down and smacked it for a few minutes did it start to work.

Once the device started working it worked amazingly well, it has powerful steam that can help you de-wrinkle and clean garment, sanitize and perfume household items so it is quite versatile. The device heats up extremely quickly (30 seconds) so if you are in a hurry you can quickly de-wrinkle your shirt. The steamer has two steam levels and a quick boost mode and I would say it has plenty of steam power for most use cases, but it is definitely not as strong as steam generator iron. The water tank is on a smaller side since otherwise, it would weigh too much, but it is extremely easy to take out and refill. The steamer is on a heavier side, I would say roughly similar to normal iron, so it is not the most comfortable if it has to be used for a prolonged period of time.

When it comes to the type of water to use with this steamer I would recommend the following order: distilled > demineralized > filtered > tap, i.e. the distilled water is always the best option as it will protect your device from limescale buildup, and I would avoid using tap water altogether. The device does have the self-cleaning mode where you need to add white vinegar to the tank, but that might not help to remove limescale buildup through the whole length of tubing.

Overall, both my partner and I like the device as we kind of stopped using the steam-generating iron since it takes so long to iron the garments, and in most cases, it is not necessary, so this steamer is a good alternative to the ironing, plus it is also sanitizing and perfuming device. As for the rating, we were torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars, but we were so happy with its performance once it started working that we went with 4 stars, we do feel however that they should resolve this issue as it is quite annoying and makes you wonder if that passed QC what else did and how long the device will last.
If we experience any further issues we will amend the rating.

Once you get it going it works great and is a neat tool

As would be expected from any device bearing the TEFAL name, this steamer exudes their usual quality build. Arriving with two perfumed fragrance cartridges this is a very compact unit, easy to utilise, ideal for the traveler, particularly cruising its easy to operate, compact and does it exactly what is designed for – although the power lead could do with being about a half metre longer.

This steamer comes with various accessories which allow it to perform several different roles as well as removing creases such as cleaning off pet hairs and making things smell nice. The inclusion of a container for the heads when not in use is a real bonus in my book as I have a container under the kitchen sink already full of little plastic bits from appliances. Changing the heads is easy. There are three levels of steam available. Water is filled into a removable tank.

The unit heats up quickly and produces a decent amount of steam. I don’t really think my video does it justice. The trigger works well and it is comfortable to hold and balanced. It does a good job – so far I have removed creases and freshened up curtains and jackets, removed pet hairs from furniture and loosened up some stubborn dirt from my car seats. It is one of those things that once you start using it then you will find many many uses for it around the house.

It is a little bit pricey, but my experience with Tefal has been very positive over the years and I strongly believe that you do get what you pay for in terms of design quality and longevity. Recommended.

The steamer arrived safely, and the kit comes well packed inside a nicely illustrated retail box.

The overall quality of the unit is very good, its weighty, well made and uses good quality plastics. The water tank is easy to fill up and install as well as the various included accessories. Once turned on it takes no time at all to heat up and it gives you a little beep to let you know its ready.

The tigger can be double pressed which will keep the steam going for 1 minute. There are two modes; lower steam and higher steam, and you can also push the higher steam button for two seconds which will give you a 3 second boost of steam for the most creased of fabrics.

What I really like about this steamer is that you don’t need an ironing board and you can just hang your cloths on the back of door or similar to de-crease them. I’ve tried a good variety of different clothes and fabrics and I’m really happy with the results, it definitely does an excellent job of removing creases without needing much effort although the thicker the fabric the more time you need to spend on it.

The perfume attachment is another great idea and its perfect for adding a bit of fragrance to your cloths, toys, or anything else made of fabric. You just need to add a few drops of perfume/fragrance onto the perfume accessory and slide it into the pad.

Both the hair removal and cleaning attachments work well, we have two cats so struggle with hairs and the hair pad just pulls them right off your clothes. The cleaning pad is great for removing a small area of dirt from your clothes saving you from washing them. All of the pads can be hand washed in soap and water.

Overall, I think this is very good piece of kit and one that not only saves time on ironing but is easy to use and comes with a nice variety of attachments. Probably better suited to someone with a lot of dresses as it takes a little longer to remove creases from thicker materials compared to an iron but nonetheless it does a great job. I’m pleased with the quality of it and I feel it represents pretty good value for money. It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel its worth the full five stars!

This is a great little gadget to have in the house. As I won’t be using it for travel at any point soon, I have just been enjoying not getting the ironing board out to be honest!
This does everything from sanitising to de-crinkling clothes whilst leaving a fresh scent if you wish.
The first time I used it I thought it was broken as I just couldn’t get the steam to come out. Turns out it just needed more time for the first use. Every time ever since I have had steam almost instantly.
They provide a handy little tub to keep your other attachments in and actually provide a scented refill for those times when you want to spruce up your sofa. I didn’t like the scent but that’s personal preference.
The cable is a decent length but could be much longer. The absolute ideal would be for this to be cordless as I personally couldn’t use this for my sofas unless I attached it to an extension lead.
    As a steamer it’s a good product, but I feel it’s a little expensive.
I hope this helps with your purchase

    Perfect for travel

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo, I hadn’t used one of these before and was intrigued. Very easy to set and use, there are different heads which do different things, steam and release creases from clothes, a head to remove any lint on your clothes and then “clean” and remove bacteria. I will be honest, I did get a little mixed up with which one is for what however, they are magnetically attaching so they are not difficult to change around. I tried to remove creases and its fairly good, I am a big fan of ironing my clothes so this is always going to be a tricky one for me to accept as I still would prefer to use the iron, however, I used on my curtains which had a bit of creasing from tie backs and the creases were definately improved for using this, however, it did take a bit of time, effort and patience to get the results….but I wouldn’t iron the curtains if I had this, as its much less hassle to get to the results than taking curtains and down and then rehanging them. For lightweight fabrics like summer vest style tops it works quite well, but for thicker fabrics I wouldn’t use it. I am unsure if I would use to “santise” clothes, mostly I still would rather wash, however, I guess if you have items which you intend to wear again, works clothes then this will be a good idea right now with the whole Covid issue going on and you may feel more safe knowing this device has sanitised your garments (assuming it has …… I guess you have to trust it). Its got a lot of positive qualities, but on the other hand Im not sure there is a worthy cost outlay use for all of them.

This product makes the removal of creases from jackets easy – and it’s also great when used on all those other garments that are difficult to press on an ironing board.

Another great feature is using the steam generated to sanitise children’s soft toys, as well as clothes.

It’s so convenient when you don’t have to faff around unfolding an ironing board, and the results are great, too.

This is quick and easy to use, and it’s physically robust. Comes with manufacturer’s generous 2-Year Guarantee.

    Quite a useful little gizmo.
It comes with three different steam heads which attach to the main unit magnetically which have their different uses, it also comes with 2 perfume “cartridges” that you can spray your favourite fragrance onto and use the diffuser for delicates head to freshen them up. The instructions are very basic – all you get is a quick starter guide and it wasn’t until I watched the video here at Amazon that I realised how to use the fragrance cartridges. It also took a couple of goes to figure out how the trigger worked. The unit doesn’t take very long to warm up – I would say between 30 to 45 seconds.

The lint remover works extremely well and the lint is easy to get off when cleaning it by rubbing it the opposite way. The main use I think would be for getting wrinkles out of clothes quickly without having to get the ironing board out. So I tried it on a cotton t-shirt out of the wash basket, I hung it over a door and went at it – even on the mini setting it cleared the creases really well, easily good enough to wear. That took probably a little over a minute for both sides including the arms. A pair of jeans was definitely a bit trickier, on the max setting I got them looking good along the legs and not bad on the bottom/pockets.
Thing is this isn’t meant to replace a regular iron and is just to make clothes presentable in a rush, I think it’s certainly useful when you have a kid who after ironing his stuff regularly insists on just stuffing it in his cupboard half the time so it’s wrinkled when he wants to wear it.
I wouldn’t call it lightweight when filled BUT it’s not overly heavy either, although after a while of doing this I could imagine my arm beginning to ache.
It’s also nice that you can use it around the home as a sanitiser.
Would I take it on holiday? Well the missus says I would (sigh!), She thinks it would be great to pack away, I’m less convinced but it might be an alternative to a travel iron (not that I would take one of those either).

This Tefal Pure Tex DT9530 Handheld Garment Steamer is one power house with 1700W, it’s got more power than other ones I’ve used before usually averaging 1300W.

Unboxing you’ll find the steamer, all attachments and the water tank as well as a booklet, all packaged well and the steamer in a Blue & White colour.

One good thing is it comes with a case for all attachments, making it optimal for storage and keeping them all in the right place.
Each attachment itself is labelled, so even as you’re still learning the product, you can clearly identify what each head does.
The BEST feature is that each head magentically snaps on and saves so much time & hassle to use.
The steamer itself isn’t bulky or heavy so it’s very easy to operate. This makes it great for someone who may struggle when ironing.

One downside is that it can be a little difficult to open the water tank. For anyone who may have arthritis or dexterity issues, it’ll be a little harder.
It doesn’t include a mini spout jug, the type you get with irons and other steamers I’ve had. I had many lying around so this wasn’t an issue, but you may need to get one separately for easily refilling this.

Lastly, I noticed that bits of the velvet came off onto the garment whilst I used it. Not sure if this is because it was first use. It did come off easily though.

Overall I’m impressed with this product. The fact you have so many different heads as well as the option to apply scent to your clothes is great. It’s versatile, easy to carry and transport.

Much more easier to use than an iron and a lot more fun too.
The negative points are very minor in my opinion. I do think it’s a little higher on the price point at the 90.00 mark but a great product none-the-less from a good name brand.

I’ve attached some before & after pics which the results came with 3-4 uses of the steamer.

Powerful, versatile and easy to operate, a little high on price end but a good name brand

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is quite a decent hand held steamer. I’m a little stunned at the price (99) but it seems to be approx this amount wherever I look, so I guess it’s just the usual price of these items! I find it quite easy to use and it does a good job. I don’t think I’d give up ironing, but it’s helpful for a quick freshen and straighten up of a shirt fresh out of the cupboard, freshening the curtains, and quite good at getting out some of the creases from the duvet covers (now that’s something I don’t wish to iron, duvet covers! So this encourages my laziness!). Steam freshening of the teddies is good, and of the office chair and bucket chair. It will be used plenty. It does have a bit of weight to it, for holding, so you’ll get a little arm work out at the same time! Along with trips to refill the reservoir if you’re using it a lot in one go. The cord isn’t overly long, so you do need to be quite close to a plug or extension lead. Doesn’t take up too much room for storage

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis arrived in a branded box with glossy images, product details, uses and specifications on the outside. Opening it up the steamer is packed and protected in compressed cardboard inside a plastic sleeve for added protection. You also get a small container the additional heads and the perfume device plugs that go into the steam bonnet attachment.

I had a read through the quick start guide which goes through the basics and had a read through the main manual, the main manual is multilingual mixed languages on all pages, in my opinion this makes navigation of the functions and features less user friendly than separated languages and although it has all the information you need to go through multiple pages for each function.

The steamer looks and feels really nice quality and fits well in my hand with a good balance and easy to move around, I like that the different pads fit onto the main head with magnets so no messing about trying to release them when switching. The water tank slides off the bottom when holding the release button and has a small rubber stopper for filling, I live in a heavy water area so used distilled water but it does say tap water can be used.

After I had the tank filled I set one of my wife’s dresses on a coat hook against a door and tried it out, the dress is very fine and can’t be ironed or if I tried I would without doubt burn it or make the creases worse. I was quite impressed with the results and the creases dropped out as I went over it. I tried it on a cotton shirt and it did the job but took a lot longer than it would have with an iron, I tested it out on some other finer garments that are difficult to iron and again thought it did a great job.

I tried out the perfume device which goes into the steam bonnet attachment with some essential oil on one of my daughter’s teddy bears which is not washable, this has a musky aroma and it did a really good job of freshening it up. I tested out the microfiber pad using both sides on a long wool and cashmere winter coat I have and it did a great job on that, and it looked great after.

Overall I thought the steamer really good, I like the magnetic attachments making it easy to switch, I thought it did a really good job on very fine fabrics although on anything that could be ironed such as a cotton shirt I thought it less practical, the microfiber pad fitting did a great job on my coat and the perfume device I thought very useful for freshening up items. In my opinion the manual was usable but could do with reworking, but overall I think this is a good device that works well.

Great on fine and delicate fabrics

I use this steamer for getting creases out of drapes and curtains. Very easy to use, hardly any waiting time and strong enough steam for a crease free result. Really happy with this. This is a great item to have for everyday dressing and to pop in your suitcase when you travel.

For me, this doesn’t replace an iron, but I can definitely see me using it a lot. It’s perfect for when you have worn something once and want to freshen it up. Light creases drop out really easily as you pass the steamer over them. I like the different heads that come with it for cleaning and well as pressing. I can see myself using the clean heads for soft toys, cushions, and upholstery. For pressing you just run it over hanging garments and the creases disappear. I was surprised at how heavy it is. It’s probably similar weight to my iron, but you are waving it around in the air. This is why I have only given 1 star for travelling. It’s too big and heavy and realistically take on holiday. Also the steam is incredibly hot so you do need to be careful when using it. Otherwise, great quality product.

I’m not usually overly impressed with gadgets such as this. I saw these givem the thumbs up on Mumsnet and was quite intrigued. I jumped at the chance to try this one. But to be honest I didn’t hold out much hope and thought it would just be gimmicky.

HoweverThis has really blown me away. How is it taking me so long to find this? Honestly it is life-changing. I have steamed clothes that I haven’t been able to wear for years because they’re so creased and looked awful on (i’m a bad and lazy ironer!)

This just works. There are two settings and I’ve used both. I tend to use the lowest setting for synthetics on the highest setting for cottons. I’ve seemed a variety of items and it works best I find on this goes and jersey. The creases just drop out. One tank full of water lasts for about 5-10 items, depending on what they are. East to refill though.

It does struggle on some of my cotton shirts that have been washed and dried but not put away properly (do you know the ones. Those that you crumple in the washing basket and forget about for days!). It doesn’t completely get all creases out of dried crumpled cotton, is what I’m saying! That is a pretty tough challenge as even my iron doesn’t get those out!

It comes with different attachments and admittedly I only use the one that is designed to get wrinkles out. I’m not sure about the fragrance one but maybe for dry cleaning? Or smelly upholstery? The other one seems a bit pointless to me but even if this just had the one head this is worth it’s weight in gold. I’ve had to add some pictures because it’s just astounding. Takes a second to get ready and it’s so handy to have nearby. Small and lightweight as well as really easy to use. It’s just brilliant!

Pics are of a 100% cotton nightie one sleeve is done, the other one isn’t. That was a hard challenge as ot had been in the wash and just crumpled on my drawer for months. The other is a top. Same thing, chucked in a drawer. I did half and left half to compare. It’s a viscose elastane mix. I just did one pass – so about 1 min – on one side on the low setting.

Basically just buy one. They are so worth it! My clothes looks so much better. And I look so much better in them.

    Amazing! Buy one

I was a little skeptical at first at how good this would be but boy did it do the job well. This is surprisingly efficient and outperforms my expectation.
Being a dog owner there are always random hairs on our clothes and using this worked well to remove them. In these times it is also reassuring that 99.9% of germs are killed.
This is definitely something I would travel with as it is a great handy size, works really quickly and with it’s multi use magnetic attachments provides a range of uses especially important after clothes have been packed and creased!

I never used any of the steam cleaner before, therefore, I can not say this is better than cheaper ones etc.
Tefal is a brand that we know for many years and that is why I paid little bit more to aim longer use of device.
First of all, it is bigger than my expectations but that is okay for me since I am aiming to use it at home.
Easy to use, you just fill it ,plug and ready to go in few seconds. I expected “magically” removing of wrinkle in one go but that is not in real life apparently 😀 But, wrinkles go like when you go over them few times. The outcome is quick so if you need to go in 5-10 mins, this is definitely better than not ironing however it can not cover it.
So, if you are looking for hand steamer, I recommend this product for quality. However, these devices cannot replace old way of ironing 🙂

Great at getting creases out of clothes and use it to dicontaminate bags, shoes and coats, or anything that can’t be sprayed before it’s bought into house as we are still shielding. Only criticism is that the water chamber empties quite quickly and have to keep refilling. However if it was larger it would make the unit too heavy to handle as easily.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersFirst of all, this product cannot replace the classic ironing for smart/elegant suits or for the bed sheets and linens.
But I don’t wear smart suits, nor ironing my bed sheets 🙂 , so for my casual clothes is good enough (I hate to use the ironing table).
I prefer to use the steamer horizontally (like the classic iron machine), but directly on the bed (not on a table and not on the hanger, vertically) and the result is acceptable, I can get out of the house, the clothes are dewrinkled enough :).

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersThe heated sole plate seemed to be as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, and the steam slot looked like a design flaw as oppose to the evenly spaced holes on the Access Steam version. HOWEVER, having tried it with an ironing board and on the bed, my initial perception has greatly improved.

Okay, it still does a decent job on most clothes i.e. blazers/jackets, t-shirts. chinos etc. whilst upright steaming (I do use the brush or delicate attachment to prevent that unsightly shine). But for more stubborn wrinkles and the shirts, it works best when used with the ironing board. I have not used my iron in over a month and cannot say I miss it. The heated sole plate coupled with steam works just as well if not better than a traditional iron (but then again, most of my shirts are non-iron cotton).

Access+ is reasonably well made, produces very good amount of steam, cable is of ample length, and the turbo function isn’t entirely useless.

Pleat attachment is borderline functional, door hook could be of better design (rather sharp edges, the U bent could be a bit deeper) and the steamer could most definitely do with a larger reservoir (it never seem to last the said 8-9 minutes).

Descaling is simple with 50/50 white vinegar/water solution, run it till dry, do it outdoors or risk smelling like cheap wine.

    4 stars from me

Edit 2 June 2021 – Unlike other makes, including Tefal’s own Access (non-plus) steamer, this one doesn’t leave a wet trail (or spray hot water) on the clothes because of the heated sole plate. Here comes another star.

The turbo button, if used for extended period, stays on (i.e. You cannot switch to normal mode) until the steamer cools down. Not a deal breaker but annoying enough to cost 1 star.

Tip – I started using de-ionized water (about pound fifty from “every little helps”) with this steamer and even with daily use for the past 15 months, descaling hasn’t been required. I steam my work suits daily to keep them fresh and an unintended fringe benefit has been a nil dry cleaning bill

The device arrived very quickly after 4 days, an excellent device for walks, quick ironing, heats up very quickly, a bit heavy to hold in hand for a long time, but an excellent device and does his job.

First time I’m using a hand held steamer, therefore can’t compare to other models. Loving it even though it is on the heavy side (arm got tired after 5 items) and the tank might be small but: Easy to use, powerful and de-creases really quickly, fantastic to freshen up your clothes.
