What is a HALTI OptiFit?
The HALTI OptiFit stops dogs from pulling by steering the head so the body has to follow. Invented by Dr Roger Mugford, the HALTI OptiFit has been designed to provide dogs with an optimum fit whatever their face shape.
How does it work?
Its unique design works by gently directing the dog’s head, in much the same way as a headcollar works on a horse. The adjustable chin strap maintains an optimum comfort fit to the contours of a dogs face, so whatever breed of dog wearing the HALTI Optifit, it will not rise up into the dogs eyes or touch the dogs flews (lips).

Fitting Tips
Time should be taken when accustoming a dog to the HALTI OptiFit, so that he has a positive association with it. Initially place the noseband flat in your hand and feed the dog treats, so that he is happily putting his nose through it. When he becomes used to it you can secure the neck section.
To ensure that he cannot pull the nose band back over his nose, slide the camlock towards his chin and lock. However, it is important that the camlock is not so high that it restricts his ability to pant, eat or to open his mouth.
When first using the HALTI OptiFit, ensure you continually praise and reward your dog, and feed treats to help distract him and to ensure it is a rewarding experience. Never leave the HALTI OptiFit on an unsupervised dog or he may chew it.

Great product, easy to put on and use with my border collie. It was a little annoying at the start but now it’s all fine and doesn’t bother him at all.
OK on stretch and comfort, would be nice if a bit thicker.
I have a 4 year old Cockapoo who just would not stop pulling on her walks until we were heading back home. I have tried harnesses but with no effect. It was spoiling our walks until we met someone who also had Cockapoo that pulled until she got the Halti.
I thoroughly recommend it as she does not pull quite so much and we can both enjoy our walks again .

This product is a lot better than the old halti head collars. Fits a lot better on my short nosed border terrier.
Our dog is lead reactive around other dogs. This lead does help although the clasp under the chin has come undone a few times whilst walking.

I cannot comment at the moment as I have had to send the large size back as it was too small and have ordered an extra large size instead for my Great Dane. The quality though seems very good.

My Rotty pulled like mad. This made her manageable Unfortunately she broke it though after about ten uses.

bought as a Christmas present for my aunt’s unruly collie/lab mix. worked a treat and the family can all easily walk the dog with no issues. No pulling anymore. the instructional dvd was unnecessary
A good product I like the extra security of being able to attach it to my dogs collar. However my dog does manage to get the bit that goes under his chin in his mouth, no matter how I fix it.

Only just got round to using this, it was amazing first time out. My dog had a couple of brief moments when she tried to rub it off with her paws but apart from that it was fantastic. I didn’t manage the feeding through the halter to get her used to it, she wouldn’t come anywhere near it so I tried just putting it on and distracting her which worked. Highly recommend this product.
This is extremely well designed by someone who knows dogs as it does give control without harming your dog. .
Totally stops pulling. Does irritate my dog a bit, but not enough to worry about and once he’s walking he forgets about that. This is the only harness I’ve found which stops pulling

I bought this product at the weekend and was very impressed with the change in my dogs lead behaviour in 3 days, however tonight she managed to chew threw it in less than a minute when I took my eyes off her !!! I have just ordered another one as I was impressed but be careful if your dog chews as they are very quick to get through.

Used these for years, just give a bit of extra security to your Halti in case you have a wriggler who can get out of their collar/ Head collar, no problem to fix on to Halti and very hard wearing.

This has changed our life and also the dogs! They don't pull as much after a couple of weeks as they hate when it turns their head when it reaches the limit of the lead. I have never had my dogs walk next to me so much. Life changer!
Excellent product. We purchased a medium for our husky and it fits perfectly. Better than the standard Halti head collar and has the added benefit of a quick and easily adjustable strap under the dogs chin (if dogs have chins that is, some dogs do I suppose, I mean those wee chubby ones you see have loads of chins but I digress). The incessant pulling that our husky exhibited has stopped, she is a lot calmer when out on walks and this Halti does not slide up to her eyes like others I have seen due to its adjustable muzzle strap.
I have just wriiten a review for the wrong item! The headcollar is perfect and fits comfortably. I am very pleased with it. Unfortunately it arrived at the same time as another item and the page must have loaded late – i didnt notice. Sorry!
Dog just can’t pull with this collar. It stays in the correct position on the dog without slipping. The collar is padded over the nose for maximum comfort for your best friend. My woman has said that this head collar is the only one that has ever worked with her dog. Confident buy it now.
I have a 6 month old Hungarian Vizsla. I chose the medium, fits perfectly.
First walk using this it was a dream, no more yanking on the arm.
Great fan of original halti….lifesaver! This is very similar but does look more comfy,not used that much as yet but don’t foresee any problems ecellent product.
This is amazing! I didn’t believe this thing works, but It worked immediately! It irritates the nose of short-haired dogs, but it’s comfortable for my Tibetan Terrier.
Bought for a strong boxer. She is like a new dog whilst walking on the lead! She doesn’t like wearing it very much but is gradually getting used to it over time. A medium optifit head coller fits her really well.

Good strong product but it was far too small for my dog.
Third one of these I’ve bought for different dogs. They work like magic on any dog who won’t walk properly on a lead. No struggle, no pain, no shouting. Just an instantly obedient dog. Love it.
Worked a charm for my incredibly strong and tuggy collie, you need to do the proper training with it but it’s taken so much of the stress out of dog-wallking, brilliant!

A good idea, however, it does appear to be relatively easy for our dog to get the halter off her nose, no matter how snug a fit. We will persevere with it, and hopefully, she will learn quickly.
Am very pleased with this. I’ve used other dog head collars before and i think for my dog (a flat coat retriever) the fit is good. It doesn’t ride up into his eyes and it doesn’t tighten round his mouth to squash his mouth flaps. I would recommend.

Fits much much better than the normal head collar and works really well with far less objections as the nose piece doesn’t end up in the dog’s eyes. Both varieties do come with the safety that attaches to the collar so you don’t need the part that’s sold separately.
Wish we had found this months ago. Been brilliant for our staffy, he had a bad start in life so needs a little encouragement to walk on a lead and next to us, it is amazing, I have a little dog who will walk to heal now!! Great buy, recommend to anyone!!

Bought both the opti fit halti and training lead for my 1yr old golden retreiver . It was like having a different dog he responded very well to both items . I would definitely recommend both items.
