What is a HALTI OptiFit?
The HALTI OptiFit stops dogs from pulling by steering the head so the body has to follow. Invented by Dr Roger Mugford, the HALTI OptiFit has been designed to provide dogs with an optimum fit whatever their face shape.
How does it work?
Its unique design works by gently directing the dog’s head, in much the same way as a headcollar works on a horse. The adjustable chin strap maintains an optimum comfort fit to the contours of a dogs face, so whatever breed of dog wearing the HALTI Optifit, it will not rise up into the dogs eyes or touch the dogs flews (lips).

Fitting Tips
Time should be taken when accustoming a dog to the HALTI OptiFit, so that he has a positive association with it. Initially place the noseband flat in your hand and feed the dog treats, so that he is happily putting his nose through it. When he becomes used to it you can secure the neck section.
To ensure that he cannot pull the nose band back over his nose, slide the camlock towards his chin and lock. However, it is important that the camlock is not so high that it restricts his ability to pant, eat or to open his mouth.
When first using the HALTI OptiFit, ensure you continually praise and reward your dog, and feed treats to help distract him and to ensure it is a rewarding experience. Never leave the HALTI OptiFit on an unsupervised dog or he may chew it.

Fast delivery. Good product for any breed any size but especially for large strong breeds it’s a must have. Best product for training to walk nice and not to pull in a class of it’s own. Doesnt hurt the dog and it works really well for training not to pull and instant different to when it’s not on, it’s the best product out the that gives instant results and also doesnt hurt or stress the dog out and the most humane product to use. Excellent value for money. Only slight issue is the plastic clip can sometimes brake but that was after 3years so still decent value for money and still worth it.

Great halti
This is much better that other earlier versions of the halti. I believe my dog prefers this one and isn’t constantly at his face trying to pull it off. Other versions have left impression marks. This model is fantastic as it’s padded and hopefully provides comfort for my dog. It also has an adjustable clip below the chin which is another positive. I would recommend!

Life saver. For a little fellow, my cockapoo pulled like a freight train. We tried all the techniques that had worked for previous dogs. Nothing worked and walks were stressful. Then we bought this! It was instant. Dont get me wrong he wasnt keen on it on his nose. But with treats and patience he forgot about it. Walks are now stress free.

A bit fiddly to use especially when you are out and want to take it off do dogs can run/walk off lead and too big for my springer spaniel! Much prefer a field lead. However good quality and comfortable.

Can’t fault Haltis. They really do work to prevent pulling, even on strong dogs. This is our fourth one with this version being the best quality of the lot. Works a treat – just get the sizing right or they have a habit of slipping / rubbing the muzzle section off.

Perfect with a smaller dog , my dogue De Bordeaux did not like it on its shout as it is quite short , she tolerated it and it helped with the pulling but when she shook her head to try and remove it , I felt it would cone off .

Had this about 6 months it’s great dog cant pull me off my feet now. Clip broke recently but still effective as I tied a knot in it. Padded and hasn’t caused any Mark’s or abrasions to my lab.

I have a really strong Lab mix and we are now finally able to have some sort of control on walks when he sees something he wants!! He knows the minute it goes on that he can no longer pull me about. It took a short while for him to get use to it and one tip I would give is: make sure its tight enough for your dog not to get it off, as its a really bad lesson for them to lea

This halti is extremely light, fits well on my hound, who I bought the medium size for.
Only thing I’m not keen on is the collar part is slightly slippery and found it slips loose. Hopefully some wear and age will stop this?!

Great for my nervous German shepherd cross Rottweile
My girl is an anxious dog on walks which leads to pulling. The old halti used to slide up over her eyes, the new halti stays snug over her muzzle and we are both a lot happier with it. Greater control for me, which helps reduce my dogs anxiety and is a lot more comfortable for her.

I cannot comment at the moment as I have had to send the large size back as it was too small and have ordered an extra large size instead for my Great Dane. The quality though seems very good.

I found this to be much improved from the original halti which gave my spaniel a mark across her nose. She has taken to this version much quicker and has (nearly) stopped trying to scratch it off while we are walking. It does occasionally some off her nose, so the safety catch is useful, but it does not feel very secure so I also have a harness on my dog while walking near busy roads.

Amazing produc
Bought this for my Balck Lab who loves to take me for a walk. We’ve tried all the harnesses they say will work and nope he still pulls. But this head collar he stopped pulling instantly from the 1st time he had it on. I couldn’t believe the change would be instant.

Good product and does what it says, I would like for a more robust halti head collar for the larger dog as I feel that thought the item I have brought works perfectly well I would have liked to have purchased a more heavier head collar, I have a GSD, come on Halti give people a more wider range the item you are offering is not quite suitable for the larger more powerful dog.
Halti anti pull harness
Only just got round to using this, it was amazing first time out. My dog had a couple of brief moments when she tried to rub it off with her paws but apart from that it was fantastic. I didn’t manage the feeding through the halter to get her used to it, she wouldn’t come anywhere near it so I tried just putting it on and distracting her which worked. Highly recommend this product.

elief for my arm muscles!
stopped my german shephard /rottweiler cross from pulling me immediately, he’s a strong dog. It sits comfortably on his nose without squashing into his eyes and leaves no mark when taken off. As with all restraining collars, he soon got used to it and built up the strength to pull again but nowhere near as much as before and makes walking with both of my dogs much easier and so much less of a task to restrain him ( both dogs) when they see a cat! Unfortunately this style not suitable for lurcher as its nose band is to big and squashes into the eyes though the older style Halti with the thin nose strips is perfect. Well worth investing in to make dog walking a pleasure and not a full scale workout!

I bought this product at the weekend and was very impressed with the change in my dogs lead behaviour in 3 days, however tonight she managed to chew threw it in less than a minute when I took my eyes off her !!! I have just ordered another one as I was impressed but be careful if your dog chews as they are very quick to get through.

My little dog, used to pull me when out walking, this headcollar works very well indeed. I bought this one, even though I had bought another one a week before. This one adjusts under under her jaw, fits very well indeed. Could not be more pleased.
Our Collie/Spaniel Eli – despite all the training – still pulls like a Husky on steroids. We have tried everything including choker chains (never again his eyes were bulging) AND the harness that leads from the front. This head collar has had the best effect so far. He doesn’t enjoy wearing it but neither does my husband like being dragged along. His is now manageable out in public. So I would recommend this.

Should have bought one ages ago
Excellent product. We purchased a medium for our husky and it fits perfectly. Better than the standard Halti head collar and has the added benefit of a quick and easily adjustable strap under the dogs chin (if dogs have chins that is, some dogs do I suppose, I mean those wee chubby ones you see have loads of chins but I digress). The incessant pulling that our husky exhibited has stopped, she is a lot calmer when out on walks and this Halti does not slide up to her eyes like others I have seen due to its adjustable muzzle strap.

The best head collar ever made
Dog just can’t pull with this collar. It stays in the correct position on the dog without slipping. The collar is padded over the nose for maximum comfort for your best friend. My woman has said that this head collar is the only one that has ever worked with her dog. Confident buy it now.
It Works!
Well, it works! After years of pulling our arms off, our otherwise excellently behaved 3 year old border collie is now a delight to walk on the lead. Thought this would never happen, but it was instant. Sure, for the first half hour or so she did keep trying to pull it off over her nose, with some success, but now she is much more interested in the walk than the Halti.

This is amazing! I didn’t believe this thing works, but It worked immediately! It irritates the nose of short-haired dogs, but it’s comfortable for my Tibetan Terrier.

Bought for a strong boxer. She is like a new dog whilst walking on the lead! She doesn’t like wearing it very much but is gradually getting used to it over time. A medium optifit head coller fits her really well.

Third one of these I’ve bought for different dogs. They work like magic on any dog who won’t walk properly on a lead. No struggle, no pain, no shouting. Just an instantly obedient dog. Love it.
Having just purchased 2 of these I would like to say to any prospective buyers that THEY WORK! I have tried various other halters,harnesses and other ‘no-pull’ quick-fixes and have provided hours of fun for my neighbours and my dogs while trying to gain some control. Right from the start the Optifit was a clear improvement being a good fit and neither of my dogs could get out of them despite trying to help each other. After a few minutes they calmed and I clipped the leads on – instead of being dragged to the park they quickly realised that it did no good to pull. By the time we got there both had started to look to me for direction rather than attempting to pull me with them.
It does work
I bought this item twice (once in medium and once in small) as I had no idea which size to get. When I eventually got the correct size fitted it works brilliantly. I have tried several different methods and this is the only thing I’ve found that actually stops my dog pulling like a strongman in a car towing contest. The dog absolutely hates wearing it but he is getting used to it slowly, the only reservation I have is that it seems to sit fairly close to his eyes. The item details could really do with more information to help people pick the correct size. Four stars instead of 5 because the dog hates it, it sits really high on his muzzle and there isn’t enough info to allow people to pick the best size.

Worked a charm for my incredibly strong and tuggy collie, you need to do the proper training with it but it’s taken so much of the stress out of dog-wallking, brilliant!

A good idea, however, it does appear to be relatively easy for our dog to get the halter off her nose, no matter how snug a fit. We will persevere with it, and hopefully, she will learn quickly.
Great product, very little to quibble ove
This has almost completely transformed my setter into a manageable walk, rather than being taken for a walk before when we used a harness.
Previously on the harness, he would pull with all of his body weight in the front and even as a six foot, seventeen stone man I would find myself being yanked along the pavement on the way to the heath.
This has changed the walk to and from the heath dramatically and for a dog as stubborn as a setter, that is high praise.
At first he scratched and clawed at his face every five paces on the way to walkies, not understanding the halite’s purpose but he soon learned that he cant pull ahead without turning himself to the side.
However my one gripe with this product is that when he tries and fails to pull the lead and get ahead, the halite slip that goes over his nose rotates to the side and twists a little, which appears to be uncomfortable for him. By tightening the clip that goes under his chin, he goes nuts and tries to chew the clip so I am left having to allow the twisting now and then but slowly and surely, I am following the DVD and visual instructions provided.

For reference, my dog is a medium sized Gordon setter and the medium sized haltie was more than sufficient for his size.
This halti is great for my 25kg staffie cross have been previously using a halti from pets at home but this product is so much better it doesn’t rise up to his eye which the one before did and the material is alot softer which is alot more comfortable on him I would recommend it if you have a strong dog.

Am very pleased with this. I’ve used other dog head collars before and i think for my dog (a flat coat retriever) the fit is good. It doesn’t ride up into his eyes and it doesn’t tighten round his mouth to squash his mouth flaps. I would recommend.

Fits much much better than the normal head collar and works really well with far less objections as the nose piece doesn’t end up in the dog’s eyes. Both varieties do come with the safety that attaches to the collar so you don’t need the part that’s sold separately.

Excellent piece of kit to get our crazy cockapoo walking like she’s at crufts! Small was perfect size for our 8kg dog, but could fit a larger dog as we’re on a smaller setting.
I bought this for my mastiff-cross and it fits brilliantly. The design is much better than the standard Halti in terms of: fitting and security, the padded nose strap and reflective side straps. The clip under the dog’s chin can in one sense make this more safe and in another less safe so whether this is the one for you’re dog may depend on the following: the clip is good in that it holds the fit at all times making it more secure, but you also lose the option (which the standard one has) to pull upwards to stop the dog barking or biting.

halti optifit and training lead
Bought both the opti fit halti and training lead for my 1yr old golden retreiver . It was like having a different dog he responded very well to both items . I would definitely recommend both items.
Only tried this produce yesterday for the first time and I think so far we have achieved amazing results. We have a Labernard dog who only my husband and older son could manage on his lead as he is very strong. However both myself and my youngest son brought our dog for a walk last night for the first time with the optifit and we achieved amazing results first time, no pulling or lunging. He definitely did not like the headcollar at first but after a quick 10 minutes he settled down and walked like a pro 🙂
My full grown Rottweiler managed to slip his Halti head collar once when my boyfriend was walking him. When my rotti is off-leash, he takes it as a game and runs as fast and far as possible. That’s every owner’s nightmare!
He hasn’t slipped his head collar with me, but I can walk him with the peace of mind knowing I have a back up there to keep him from running off and getting hit by a car if he does manage to slip the head collar off of his nose. I attach this link to my lead, NOT my halti, and then clip it to his collar every time we go out for a walk. That way, my lead is attached to 2 parts of him.
