Been using this Thermos Stainless King Food Flask for a bit now, and it’s time I put my thoughts down. This isn’t just any food flask; it’s been a game-changer for my lunch routine. Here’s why:
The Good Stuff:
Keeps Things Hot (or Cold): Seriously, this flask doesn’t play around. I’ve put hot soup in it at 7 AM and come lunchtime at noon, it’s still warm. Same goes for cold stuff; my fruit salad stays cool without getting soggy.
Build Quality: The stainless steel design not only looks sleek in its midnight blue color but feels sturdy. It’s survived a couple of drops without so much as a dent, which is more than I can say for other flasks I’ve owned.
Leak-Proof: I toss this in my bag with zero worries. The lid screws on tight, and there’s been no leakage. It’s nice not having to wrap it in a plastic bag “just in case.”
Perfect Size: With a 470 ml capacity, it’s just right for a single meal serving. Plus, it doesn’t take up too much space in my work bag.

I’m a big fan of thermos and would rate their products highly in terms of expectation and actual product, quality and value.
The Pros-
I’ve now had 4 of these flasks and have found that you can use them twice daily and they hold their heat around four to five hours. you can use six hours however, you will notice that the temperature is cooler.
The Cons –
One query is that they have altered the inside of the lid and I’m left wondering what the little plastic bit is see photo. However, this would not detract from recommending the product.
Cleaning –
recommended for hand wash only hot, soapy, water and a dish or bottle brush is all you need. After about two months use of daily use, the inside can tarnish and look unsightly. I have read this in a number of other reviews. The solution was recommended to me by my Dad. Simply put a single dishwashing tablet into the flask body and pour on very hot water. For example 80 to 90 degrees. No need to use the lid. Fill to top of brim. NB if it is too hot after many times, you will unfortunately the bottom of the flask may become detached so be careful of water isn’t too hot.
Product rating –
I would give it 4 out of 5 on the basis that it will only last a year or two I have found that the bottom of the flask can detach after many uses and cannot be put back together again , the other issue are found in the past is that the rubber around the neck of the flask can loosen with time and can be very difficult to put back on. Leak ability. I have noticed that you do get a good Seal however I would say that I struggle sometimes putting the top lid on , I think this is something that could be explained as it’s not mentioned in the instructions.
Star Rating –
I would give this four out of five and would have no trouble in recommending it most highly.

To improve base of flask so that it does not detach after so many uses and also neck of flask where rubber ring can become loose and detach.

Like the spoon it can be relied on – on cheaper products the spoon rivets collapse after a few uses. this flask to keep soup etc rreally hot / warm for over 6 1/2 hours much better than competitors

Do a lot of walking and on cold days it great to have a hot snack from soup/stew/ chilli and many other things . We got the 470ml flask which is just the right size for one person. It’s easy to clean looks good and we have had them for about two years now and still keep things hot as well as they did on day one in summer we have put salads in the. And they stay nice and cool

I have bought two of these flasks and is my 3rd one. Good brand and good quality but unfortunately, we didn’t notice a dent on the bottom of the flask. I had already thrown away the box.

Great flask, lovely colour, keeps food warm enough to enjoy at lunch (wouldn’t burn you, but hot enough to enjoy). Good portion size for 1 adult.

There isn’t much to say about this product. It does exactly what it says. It’s been in the market for ages so people rely on it. The only thing that upsets me is that I wish they would work on something as effective as this flask but in a “lunch box format” for kids. I bought so many trying to find one that would keep the food hot as thermos and could not find. SO I gave up and now I have to send a “plate” in my sons lunch box so he can enjoy his hot meals. I do recommend because it really does what it says, thought.

I use this product 2 to 3 times a week on walks of varying lengths with many walking groups. In winter either tea or home made soups. In summer, water. It has never let me down over the few years l have been using it. Perfect for me.

I got this food flask after reading other reviews, I take it to eat my hot meal at work so I can just have toast in the evenings. After reading Amazon reviews I took the plunge. Wow, I wish I’d bought one sooner, I heat the flask with boiling water and warm my food up in a food steamer/warmer while I get ready for work, it’s piping hot when I get my lunch break around 6/7 hours later, so hot I have to blow it !.. I’ve taken curries, soups, baked potatoes, pasta with sauce, this is an excellent flask. Portion seems small but fills me up and just right for what I need. Will be buying another for sure.

I don’t usually write reviews this quickly, but I’m so impressed I had to! I used my food flask for the first time today, I put hot soup in it around 8am (after heating it up with hot water for 30 minutes beforehand). I added a small handful of uncooked pasta to the hot soup, and went off to work. I left it in my car until lunchtime which was 1pm. It was FREEZING today so I didn’t hold out much hope for it sitting in my cold car all morning. I was amazed when come lunchtime, I opened the flask and not only was the soup still piping hot, the pasta was also fully cooked! It does look very small but you can fit a generous amount of food into it. Very happy with my purchase so far!

I bought an xxxx ready meal (roll it back) and put it in the microwave for the alloted time on the cooking instructions I then scooped all the contents out of the container with a spoon and placed the whole meal in my new Thermos Stainless King Food Flask, put the lids on and put it in my bag, this was at 07.30. Was a busy shift weather was awful and it was 16.45 before I got chance for my meal, I was prepared for it to have gone cold, but No! It was still hot and very tasty! The included fold up spoon was spot on and exactly the right size to scoop out my Cumberland pie!! Well chuffed no leaks of food, heat or steam, perfect. So it does do what it says on the tin and yes it’s Fantastic!!

The name says it all. Well made and designed with the built-in, foldable spoon. Does exactly what it is supposed to and looks nice. Slightly annoying to clean, well more so annoying to get the inside dry, but you could say that about any thermos. Definitely recommend.

Filled with boiling water for 10minutes with the lid on, before filling with hot food. Filled at 7am and stew was still hot at 12.30. Not piping hot but hot enough to warm my partner up while he works outdoors.

Doesn’t leak, 8am – I boil the kettle and fill it and heat my soup and then empty the water, fill with hot soup and it’s still hot at 1.30/2.00 pm just right for lunches.

I make a lot of home-made soups, which are far healthier and cheaper than shop-bought varieties and which allow you to use up any vegetables and herbs (e.g. basil and coriander leaves) you have hanging around at home. I make a big batch of soup at the weekend, then keep a couple of portions in the fridge and put the rest in the freezer. Every morning I heat a portion of soup up to a simmer (only takes 5-10 minutes), put it in this food flask and 5 to 6 hours later my soup is still piping hot. I make sure the flask is filled to the top, as I’m sure this helps to keep my soup piping hot. I love the fact that there is a spoon included with the flask, as I can leave my home in the morning confident that wherever I am I’ve got everything I need for the perfect lunch.

Brought 2 different flasks both from Thermos, one at 400ml and this 470ml, filled the 400 with water and then poured it into the 470 one and it was near full so maybe the 400ml at 11 is more price worthy. Hoping it won’t explode like how some other people have experienced and that the size will be enough to hold my lunches.

I like the size small but with sufficient room to fill it up with food.
It doesn’t keep my food very hot, by the time you go to eat your food its warm and I heated up my food up to the point it was piping hot.
Otherwise it’s okay, easy to clean, and definitely leak proof.

magic, it feels like magic
it said keep food hot for 9hrs, i made pasta at 10am for uni using the cooking pasta in the thermos trick. pre-warmed my thermos with boiling hot water, half cooked pasta with the sauce, poured it in the thermos, and away i went. Busy day and my friends drag me to a restaurant, obviously i can’t eat the pasta there, it would be rude. so i left the pasta and forgot about it. at 1:30am i remember and start cleaning it out. THE FOOD WAS STILL HOT!! there was steam and heat coming from the pasta.
It didn’t leak the entire day, the food was hot for like 15hrs and probably could have kept warm for even long the food was that hot. my mind is blown. i didn’t think it would work this well and assumes after 9hrs the food would be cool, but no, still really hot as if it was just served.

Two things in my life I can’t explain to myself: 1) how the giant steel aeroplane flies, 2) how the Thermos branded items keep the coffee and food so many hours hot … It is insane but true. Additionally, if you add boiling water in advance, you can keep food for ages. I think Thermos items are the best investments in my life.

2. No need to add boiling water to heat the thermos. I have tried without it, took noodles it stays hot (not warm). E.g. 8am – 6pm.
3. Make sure to warm up the food on high temp. I microwaved it for nearly 3 mins, so it was boiling hot. I took rice and chicken, stayed hot from 8am-6pm probably warm after that but hey most of us need it for lunch. So It works.

Great little flask
Bought for a long car trip. I filled it with soup at 3AM and tucked in when I arrived at the ferry about 6 hours later. Still piping hot.
Also tested it with porridge and a caserrole. Both equally as hot after 6 hours.

This one however works perfectly so it was an absolute blessing over the school holidays for days out. He could happily eat portions of pasta/lasagne etc- you could see the steam come off when you opened it.

Perfect thermos as it keeps food warm for hours unlike others I have tried before. It is a good portion size and super easy to wash. The spoon it comes with is very handy and sturdy so can use daily.

I like this Thermos very much. My only criticism is that the spoon is designed for a right-handed user. Being left-handed, I find the handle starts to fold in when scooping up food from the Thermos. (I don’t know if a left-handed version is available). Other than that, the Thermos is ideal for my needs. It keeps food warm.

Really useful for kids
We bought this for day trips with our toddlers and are extremely pleased. It holds the heat well and the wide mouth makes it easier to clean then I expected. Spoon is also surprisingly useful
Ideal addition to my child's lunchbox
I purchased this for my 6 year old who isn’t a fan of school dinners or sandwiches. This is a brilliant little thermos and the size makes it ideal for tins of soup, beans noddles etc and its durable enough for the rough and tumble of a school bag being thrown about. You do need to pre heat it for a few minutes with boiling water first to get the maximum warmth time but my daughter tells me that her lunches are still very warm at lunchtime when the thermos is made at 7.30am. The foldable spoon in the lid is a real bonus and we’ve had no leaks. This one was purchased while on a lightning deal but I have since purchased another at full price for my own lunches as I was so pleased with it. The savings I make by not buying lunch each day outweighed the cost of the thermos.

I do reheat in the morning around 6am chicken and pasta for my child before I go to work and is still hot on his lunch. My son loves everything about this termos, is really handy and very comfortable to eat from.
Before I close termos I wait few minutes to get the heat out a bit. And is easy to wash.

My mum loves this flask
So my mum is one of these people that wants a flask that can last her through the night whilst she sleeps so she can take sips of plain water during and after she wakes up… I said to her.. “whats the point? you want to wake up and be able to drink the water at a warm temperature right?” well at her age the hotter the better so she prefers this 9hr hot flask (and probably more) so she wakes up and opens the flask to let the water cool down… seriously I have no words how hot this keeps her water boiling hot.
Thus I can confirm it keeps things hot!
