My elderly parents carers put a meal in their microwave which had a tinfoil base. I can’t grumble since the carers are lovely to my folks but sometimes there’s is a bit of cultural difference as maybe they haven’t experienced a microwave in the past, (bless ’em), so no biggy.
I had to get a new one and this was on offer for less than 60. What’s great about it is it’s simple. No confusing microprocessor and 1001 different settings, it’s the timeless design of a power knob and a timer knob. Mom and Dad had some nice hot meals since Sunday when it came and the carers haven’t managed to blow this one up yet.
Purchased this as a replacement and went with name brand vs. Other options. Works great with quick cook buttons and programmed meal buttons. Easy setup and easy clean. More reviews #realtysharpe on many social media platforms
What I know about microwave ovens could be written on the back of a postage stamp. I needed to replace my broken oven, and was looking for one that was not too large, not too powerful and easy to operate. I took a chance on this model and, thus far, I have been very satisfied with it. It does everything I require competently.
Good microwave from a well known brand at a reasonable price. It is quick and effective. A good size and easy to clean inside. My only minor criticism would be the numbers on the dial can be quite difficult to read being small, white and on black.
This microwave is easy to use. Looks nice and sleek on the worktop.
So far, it cooks food evenly and is easy to clean.
Has a glass plate that sits on the turntable.
Will hold a small/ medium dinner plate.
Looks amazing, very pleased with the aesthetics and the interior is super easy to clean. Have not had any issues so far, definitely outperforms our old unit when it comes to preparing popcorn (a common issue with some models). The microwave is extremely intuitive and easy to use with a variety of preprogrammed timer/settings. The countdown timer is also quite futuristic, indicating time frame intervals. In conclusion I’d say it’s a solid contender for this price range.
Bought this for my elderly mum ( 94 ) She had problems reading the screen and hitting the correct buttons on her old microwave.
With the twist dials on the Toshiba it is so much easier for her to use.
leave the heat setting in one position and twist the timer to the desired time wait 2-5 mins depending what’s cooking or re-heating and its job done. 800w cooks faster than the 700w so pleased we opted for the 20l x 800w
Nice size and quite weighty so it won’t slide over the worktop when the door is opened. very quiet in use, Nice finish on the paintwork, good value for money. Will highly recommend.
So the last microwave we’d had for years. I’m not sure we ever really cleaned it properly as it dawned on me it was utterly revolting and beyond saving. So, that went in the bin. Didn’t want to spend a fortune, don’t think you should have to for such a cooking tool
Turns out you don’t. This wasn’t the cheapest but was well down there. It’s so far so good. Heats stuff. On time. So that’s good.
It’s pretty light weight so I got in unpacked and up on a shelf in the garage pretty easily. It seems to work well. Timer is fine, heat level.is fine, and not overly noisy. The light inside with the door shut is dim so you can’t really see what’s going on in there, but it’s pretty obvious it’s getting warm; or hot depending what you chose. I have no complaints so far. You can gwt enough in there so good capacity. I mean who wants to put a whole chiken in there, if you do, don’t bother with this one it’s not that big. It sits nice on the side and ain’t gonna wobble. Makes a sweet ping when it’s done. Yep, so, all in all, good value, works well, looks fine. Decent overall pop de ping.
UPDATE: really happy after a few weeks of use of this. The controls work perfectly well, the ping at the end is pretty loud. I’m liking it.
I use both microwave and baking options on daily basis. I like the display, but have found the instructions poor and machine not very intuitive to use. I have found that it does cook well and fast due to the combination options. It also quieter than our older Sharp microware. Once you know how it is easy to use!
I bought this for the “Quiet” button but have not managed to get it to silence – and work at the same time.
After over cooking a few things I went to check what was the wattage and i could not find it on the machine at all but apparently its an 800 same as my last one.
Other than that its idea size etc you can get a whole dinner plate in it but its not too big overall.
Nice little microwave. Easy to use not at all complicated. Only niggle would be that you have to press the digital buttons quite hard so you have to hold the microwave at the same time otherwise it will move. Other than that have no complaints.
I purchased this product in replacement of my 800W Samsung Healthy Steam 23L microwave which unfortunately stopped working.
I was looking for a slightly more powerful one, and I discovered this Toshiba one on offer.
At first I wasn’t sure if the additional features of airfry, broil and bake would be a bit of a gimmick, but I decided to give it a try.
I was really impressed with how sleek the Combi microwave looked in its black and silver finish with a neat and simple display.
It came with 2 metal stands and a cooking tray which I found useful for pizzas, frozen snacks, pastries, battered / breadcrumbed fish, chicken, fries, meatballs etc.
It does take a while to get used to the different settings, and I am still figuring things out.
Unfortunately the instructions are very limiting so it doesn’t give much guidance on food settings.
There is a quick reference guide on the inner edge when you open the microwave door. It lists a few examples with settings to use, so I like to use this as a rough idea.
It would have been nice if there was a booklet included with common foods and various settings required.
It does take some experimentation. I have had a few failed attempts, and over cooked dishes. This Combi cooker is very powerful, so
my advice is to pause the cooking process and keep checking your food.
One of my favourite things is that you don’t need to wait for the device to pre heat like with a oven. It saves a lot of time.
I am very pleased with my purchase and love the multiple features. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new microwave. The additional features are an added bonus and extremely useful when you know how.
My previous microwave (a different brand costing about the same), had to be replaced after just a couple of years as the plastic coating inside was flaking off leaving exposed rust. I’m pleased to say that this one seems much better made and the door closes with a satisfying clunk; it’s also much quieter than the one it replaced. It’s a fairly standard no frills device that allows per second timing and has a few special settings, although oddly no bread defrost button which I use a lot. I also think that all microwaves should display the power output on the front as it’s easy to forget and a faff to spend longer searching for the manual than it will take to cook the ready meal you have in your hand; the previous one did, this one doesn’t. All-in-all very happy with the purchase for the price.
Looks good and stylish, nice and quiet, cooks and heats well, easy to use( once you know how) -decent price too..
Few gripes.. The door opens exactly level to the side which is a bit annoying sometime when adding big itemsremoving.
The microwave seems to Get a lot more steamed up than my last one.
The text on the buttons is tiny and hard to read… Fine once you know them but 1st time users would struggle to identify what does what.
Pretty decent overall though…
Feel obliged to leave a review for I myself had spent good few days searching and comparing, hopefully, could be helpful for someone in a similar situation.
* It is a well made, easy to use, and minimalistically looking (in a good way) microwave.
* The door is glossy but there’s a hidden handle to open it so it doesn’t collect too many fingerprints too soon.
* When working, the internal light is on and you can see through the door. It is not as transparent as some other models, but perfectly fine to see the milk foam before it spills off, for example.
* The child lock is really easy to set on and off.
* Basic microwave functions are very intuitive to find/use. One press of a button switches it on at 800 for 30sec, etc. I didn’t even open the manual to start using it. Other options are also easy to navigate.
* Unlike some other reviews mention, ours has a 24h time format, which is perfect.
* It is quite spacious for a 20l microwave, the interior is bigger than in some other models I was looking at, and compared to our previous one. A standard dinner plate fits in easily.
Yet to see how long it will survive for, but so far so good, really pleased with the purchase.
This is a small, effective microwave with minimal controls – just two knobs: one for power settings, and the other for timing. It has no frills, no readout, and not even the usual digital clock! It does its job and the results are as good as the old, more complex microwave I had to throw out and which it replaces. The timer is wholly analogue and setting is from the dial only. It is approximate but adequate. It counts down and ‘pings’ when finished. If you open the door, it stops BUT doesn’t reset and the most infuriating aspect is that it starts up again when you later shut the door and then you need manually to return it to zero. The secondary irritation is the smoothness of the knobs. They is hard to grip unless hands are completely dry. So in summary, a good little microwave. Ideal for student or small household. Good value but very basic and with manual features most other models replaced with digital buttons long ago. For these reasons only 4 stars.
Bought this for my mum, she is not good with technology, says its just more to go wrong, she might be right. SO easy to use, just select the power then the time with two rotatory knobs, no bleeping buttons to get confused with. Sturdy construction and easy to clean.
After my microwave giving up (good make) after 3 years I decided to go for a cheaper one. This is really good, quick and handy pre-programmes, I like one touch button you press to automatically add 30 seconds plus to time and use this mostly. Coated steel inside is great, easy to clean and looks great. Light is slightly dim and buttons are hard to see but with regular use I’ll be able to use it with my eyes closed. Overall pleased with purchase.
Works as it should and decent value for money. Can’t complain. Only slight downside is the round dial can get slippy when trying to turn it to set the timer.
Delivery bang on. Just the right one for me, no faff, easy to use, simple instructions. WHATS NOT TO LIKE! Why would Amazon think I want a new microwave when they just delivered one?
When I read the reviews I was almost tempted not to buy but some of
these reviews are inaccurate. I read that it didn’t have a twenty four hour clock – it does! I read a few others but decided go ahead. I’m so glad that I did because it’s great in every way apart from the turntable derailing easy. No problems if you ensure that it’s in place correctly before cooking.
I particularly like the kitchen timer.
I’m very pleased with it and recommend it.
It works OK but as others have said the numbers on the timer are difficult to see and the timing is not accurate and no seconds, what I have done is downloaded a timer for my smart phone and that times from 1 second to hours, I use that for accurate timing. Just turn it on higher than the timing you need then turn it off when your phone timer beeps at you.
Being disabled, I ordered this to replace my old microwave that had died. I’m pleased with the machine itself, but have to say it being not delivered by Royal Mail was quite inconvenient. I had to order food in as it did not arrive next day, and Royal Mail decided to only deliver a card through my door to say it was a heavy item, and needed to be collected from the sorting office. However, the microwave itself is here now, and works fine.
I’m very happy with the microwave not so happy with the delivery. The box did look like had been bashed about as the polystyrene was all broken. However it has been nearly a year now and I’ve had no problems.
bought on a prime day so cheaper than usual
does the job, doesnt seem to heat liquid as quick as my old 800w beastie but that became unusable to paint loss inside and i hope this doesnt go the same way
The power level dial could be clearer with bigger and whiter icons, the grey icons are hard to read without me reading specs so if you need glasses learn to read what setting you are on by the digital display
all in all happy with it on day one.
on a side note it was delivered by a nice lady from royal mail who couldnt lift it so i had to walk out to her van to retrieve the box
Best thing is that it cooks well. If you use a low setting, it cooks at that setting rather than cooking very hot for a few seconds then stopping for a few seconds, repeat. The result is that things like eggs don’t overcook or explode like they did in my old microwave on low settings. The dials are really easy to use. It has not started to rust inside like my old one did within weeks of purchase. So far – fantastic and I would purchase again. Bad points: The markings are ridiculously indistinct and I have to put my glasses on to read. You get used to that and you can always add extra marks in tipex or white paint if you want to. The dial is not accurate when you get to the last few minutes. For instance, set to 3 minutes and it will often stop after 2. Again, you get used to this but it is annoying. The worst thing was the delivery but that is not the products fault. A certain company promised next day delivery but it never arrived. They sent another promise for the next day and the next. We wasted 5 days of our life before cancelling and reordering. The reorder arrived as promised. Summary: Cooks really well. Good luck with delivery!
Turn dials for all modes and power modes.
Turn dial for time to cook , easy to use, clear digital display, great compact microwave that looks great too.
Happy with product and money paid for it. Just what we wanted in kitchen with size and colour after previous microwave stopped working. Haven’t really worked out dials apart from clock and quick start which goes up in 30 second increments which is what we generally use anyway
Excellent microwave. I specifically ordered it for the enamel interior as previous microwaves have chipped over time. It is very easy to clean and cooks/defrosts well. I knocked off one star for ‘ease of use’ as instructions are a bit confusing, I managed to figure it out by pushing buttons until it worked (my usual method with most technology)
I chose this product because of its Easy-Clean Enamel Cavity, and should not got rust.
It arrived quickly and it is so easy to use too.
At first, it looked strange that its door is not (vertically) on the same level of control panel. But soon I got used to it. It looks stylish in the whole.
So far this has been much better than old one. Easy to clean, simple to use.
It looks not bad.I like that its black I’m not a fan of white kitchen electricals I do preffer black because it looks more stylish and expensive in my opinion.I don’t really use them all extra setting just on normal highest temperature and for time you just twist the bottom thing and press start.Works well no complains and overall I’m happy with it.
Initially instructions were a bit complicated but once understood all was well
Nice value for money. I use it to reheat tea, food, etc.
I am also able to cook Maggie noodles in it.
Perfectly good small microwave. It smelled a little for the first few days but the instructions warned of this.
Thought symbols around knobs would be difficult to understand, but you don’t really need to look at them as the display indicates what it is about to do. Important to read manual carefully before using to understand the way everything works – experiment a bit with a jug of water inside and try out things you have read. You will soon realise how simple it is to use, and it is unlikely you will need the manual again. Pay particular attention to the ‘A’ (Auto) setting – there’s a label on the top of the machine that reminds you of the 8 different types of food that can be cooked automatically. I particularly like the fact that when it is in standby, pressing the start button will instantly start cooking on full power for 30secs – each subsequent press will add another 30 secs. So if you want 2 minutes, press 4 times. Beware that this could easily be done accidentally, so to be on the safe side engage the child lock. As an added precaution, it is always a good idea to leave a full glass of water in the machine when not being used. Another nice feature is rather than setting the minutes and seconds individually, the time knob increases in 5sec increments to start with, then changes to 10 secs, 30secs, 1min and finally to 5 min. This makes setting cooking times very quick.
Unlike our previous Panasonic microwave, this one cooks food right through.
The only slight downside that I can think of is that internally the height is restricted to about 60cm, which means some tall 2litre jugs may not fit.
Overall I am very pleased with this microwave, for its price it is great value.
Reliable manufacturer. Antibacterial ceramic inside which won’t be prone to rust and easy to wipe down .Very pleased with my choice – didn’t want a multi oven microwave or complicated digital controls. My only very small niggle is how faint the print is on the press switche labels, it being a black microwave….but after a week’s use, you get used to what they do and no longer need to look so closely! Would recommend.
Really easy to use and to clean. I don’t find the presets particularly useful so I don’t use them! I love it and really happy with my purchase.
A decently priced microwave bought to replace our old one that died. Nice black colour. Simple dial controls. 800w power. Heats food evenly and quickly. Happy with it.
It was a replacement for my old one and it’s just the job
Fast delivery, as described and the silent button works as mentioned. After a few attempts I finally managed to turn it on (double tap to the right on the off button). But there is an indicator for sound on / off in red. The microwave itsefl is not very silent (just like a typical microwave but at least I can turn off the beeping. 1 minute on the A options will heat up your water/milk or liquid in a mug. Very convenient!
Only used it a couple times, no probs so fa
I bought this for the mute setting, I don’t know why microwaves have to bleep so much, once would be enough! It’s compact but just the right size, simple design, easy to use, fan is quiet too. I’m happy!
Very happy with this microwave. Looked everywhere to find something affordable and looking good.
It’s powerful enough, 800W, cooks very well, most at that price are 700W which is not enough.
The knobs take ime to learn but once you memorize it you’re good. They have very nice instructions too with drawings and icons easy to understand and flick through.
It also is compact, but has the same capacity as others, so it should fit even small spaces.
Beautiful new equipment to match the rest of my black and red appliances in the kitchen, would recommend highly.

If you need a microwave, just go for this! Warms food quickly and hot. Easy to clean and very helpful
Love the fact that it’s so easy to clean , ease of use
Works ok just a little disappointed it came with a dent on the top corner but don’t effect use
Providing you spend 1-2 minutes maximum reading the instructions this is SOO easy to use. The other main feature I was desperately looking for was a lining that won’t give up and flake with the moisture of cooking things such as jacket spuds. Ceramic enamel SHOULD wear much better but only time will tell!
Easy to use. Small size so does not fit large plates. Perfect for what I need it for.
Works fine with minor irritations, door pull tends to yank the microwave out of place, pretty dim yellow? light, press start and press again to go up in 30 sec increments is nice. Basic ok microwave.
Very pleased with my micro wave ,very good service came earlier than expected,in excellent packaging
The icons on the front don’t have any contrast so have to use a torch to see them.Otherwise a great machine
