Overpriced for such a waste.
It is crap, even with alcaline batteries it doesn’t seem to last a week and closes on its own way too fast, plus lid stopped working just after few months and now because have to manually open it it has cracked

I expect the sensor to go eventually but the bin seems to work normally without the sensor anyways so that won’t bother me so much. Time saving bi
We have had this bin since the beginning of March. It has so far served us well as bins go. It has also encouraged the children the use the bin more due to the novelty of the sensor. Which saves me cleaning up after them.

This bin worked for just over 6 months, then the lid started closing half way and stayed like that. The bin is difficult to keep clean because the sensor and lid is so fragile it could easily break. A shame really as it looks nice, but at 70 it is not worth it as it is too flimsy to last. Would not buy again. Beware it only has a one month return policy on it … I wonder why …
Remember your batteries, they are not included
One side dented on receipt, we have banged this out best we can and put that at the back by the wall so we cant see it. Other than that product seems great.

This looks great in my kitchen. Only need to empty the bin once a day now. Very clever design. One word of advise to dog owners! Switch off the bin when your out, as my dog worked out that her nose could activate the automatic lid!

Best Kitchen Gadget that is actually used.
Have used this bin for over a year now and it is on its second set of batteries. I thought the bin was faulty after about 4 months but it just needed an new set of batteries. Two minor niggles, the sensor can activate when walking past. The metal bin container has been rolled inwards at the top, this can make emptying a little difficult if the bag is over filled. Easy to keep clean and as new and is a boon in a kitchen leaving hands free when using. Tips don’t be tempted to touch the lid and switch off when changing the bag.

I expect that in a household with children it wouldn’t last 5 minutes as its not a toy & to be fair the lid does flip up fairly fast.Theres a technique to mastering the lid opening censor & I recommend spending a little time practicing using it so that the lid dosnt hit your hand & stop it opening fully thereby straining the censor & little battery powered motor but once you’ve got it sussed I cant see why it wont last for ages. As I say its not a toy & nice as this bin is, it isn’t cheap so if your looking for a bin that’s going to last & you have young children id buy something a little more robust.

I love this bin, so stylish, I love the ring bag holder that stops the top of the bin bag from dropping down into the bin, great idea. The auto open is great when you have your hands full or have mucky hands from food prep. Would definitely recommend although I do think it’s a little over priced.

I have had it a month now and have no major issues with it. The sensor works perfectly although a little sensitive at times. The only fault I have with this bin is that, if the bin bag splits and leaks, the leakage comes out from the bottom of the bin so I’ve had to mop the floor a couple of times. 55 is a lot to spend on a bin in my opinion so you’d think it would be a bit more secure. But overall I’m happy with it. Think I just need to buy some better quality bin liners!

Was going to buy another banded bin (Brabantia) but found the prices too high, ultimately paying for the name. Ordered this one as it has an automatic contactless opening lid, appeared stylish and good value for money. Arrived well packaged, probably too well, however we’re delighted with it. Have been using it for over a week now and find the contactless opening sensor lid is really practical and hygienic which is great for reducing risks of cross contamination and means no greasy finger marks. Its easy to install the batteries for the auto lid, easy to put in a bin liner which you can tuck the top under the bag rim so no unsightly bag poking out and easy to empty and keep clean. Its stylish and modern (as far as a bin can be) and serves its purpose above expectation. We have it in our recently refurbished kitchen and it looks the part. Would recommend using the 60L Brabantia (or similar) type bin bags with it as they are easier to remove and be sure to register your purchase with Tower to extend the guarantee to 3 years. Would highly recommend!

Works well but a bit flimsy
Looks smart and works well but the bin opening bent out of shape when I put the lid on. My fault as I used too much pressure but I was expecting it to be more robust.
Last Tower white/rose gold item missing in my kitchen!
I purchased this bin because it was in sales I would not buy a bin over 50 because I have got some others for my recycling however I was very please to received it almost three weeks earlier than expected so this was a big surprised. I could see few scratches on it but as when I opened the box it was not properly packed. But as soon as I assembled it the bin looked so pretty that I completely forgot about the scratches. My kid loves to play with the sensory bit and so do I.

A few minor details about this bin like no inside plastic bin to take outside and hose clean and mine was a bit uneven on back seam (sticking out )but overall im pleased i guess with the bin for the money so this is an update as its been in use for a few days

Arrived super quick and very pleased with the bin! It’s a great size, easy to assemble and simple to use! Batteries are not included so you may want to purchase some batteries in advance! But overall very happy with the quality of the bin! Highly recommended!

which would be cheaper , but whats the fun in that , its just a neat design , and a great capacity , the lid opening is also almost 90 degrees which gives plenty of access to dispose of your rubbish , the only down side it does use batteries , i started using rechargeable ones as its easier , you will notice as the battery life deteriorates the lid will not fully open … also very nice design …The Aston Martin of bins

This is a great bin, just the size we wanted but not to big that it imposes on the space in our utility room. The fact that you don’t have to touch the bin in order to use it is a bonus. The children love that the lid lifts like magic and i haven’t found any rubbish discarded around the house since! It was easy to assemble batteries / lid on the whole a decent bin.

AMAZING PURCHASE
This bin is definitely the best purchase i have bought in a long time. The right colour, the right size, the bin bags are completely hidden once put in using the useful rim. The lid is secure. The sensor is brilliant. Best of all, the dog can not get into it (i can turn the sensor off if i need to) and there is no bulky pedal sticking out the bottom. A good bin, but far from perfect. We have three at home (trash, recycling, green recycling). We bought them during a huge promotion… but the regular price is way to high for what it is. Basically three pound’s worth of electronics added to a bin.
We also bought two at work (which is where I first saw them) and all five of them have been in operation for maybe a year now – so I think I’m in a good position to comment on the shortcomings of this particular design. Basically, I like these bins, but they do have some flaws:
1) The lid does not fit very tightly on the bin. You would not think that this would be a big problem, however the underside of the lid has a big flat “shelf” around it which tends to be pressed upwards by the contents of the bag once it starts to get full. As many items will be partially crushed boxes or cartons yearning for their freedom there can easily be enough upwards force to pop off the lid (see No. 2)
2) The lid flap is quite fragile. One of the bins at work has a lid flap that is now held together by duct tape as a result of No. 1. The opening gear (or, more accurately rack) on TWO of the bins at home have broken. Fortunately they were both within the warranty period and were replaced by the manufacturer.
3) The battery compartment is prone to corrosion. In one of the units at work either moisture from the garbage or leakage from the batteries (I’m not sure which) has made the battery contacts unreliable .
So… you can make your own decision. I have no first-hand experience of other similar bins – so I don’t know whether they have similar drawbacks. Other manufacturers do make similar bins.

Ok so it looks great… day 1 amazing!! Best bin in the world!! This was sadly short lived. Turns out it’s not very practical…. the lid isn’t open long enough to scrape a plate off so it closes onto your dirty plate, then you’ve got to wait for the sensor to reopen it… now with 4 sometimes 5 plates to scrape off plus pots etc you can imagine this gets a little frustrating. sometimes it’s fast to open sometimes not so fast it also within a day or so id say it started opening just half as wide as it should even with brand new batteries…. by day 5 It was far more frustrating to have the automatic lid than to not. so now it’s turned off and I open it myself by the corner of the lid. Quite easily. It’s quite a flimsy bin too it’s already got a big dent in the front and I have no idea how it’s happens just a few weeks old… changing the bag also seems like more hassle than with my previous bins. So if you have the patience of a saint and handle it with care perfect but for a family I’d say probably not.

Nice stylish bin, small on off switch on the back takes 2 AA batteries , just wave you hand over the front and the lid opens then 5 seconds later it closes on it’s own.

Works well and the lid is very sturdy. Mo problems with it so far. Very happy with my purchase
Sensor Lid Bi
Love this bin. Wave your hand on the lid and the lid opens then closes on its own. Battery operated but the batteries last a while. I’m glad I bought this sensor bin than a Burbank one. Worth the money I paid for it plus it holds a lot of garbage
Pretty but expensive
Very pretty bin and good size, I got one for a christmas present and bought the other on half price. Honestly would never pay full price for this no matter how pretty it is. Even under half price was a stretch. It is nice though!
Very sensitive to movement near the sensor causing lid to open unnecessarily.
Perfect for reducing the need to touch the lid to open but ultra sensitive to all movement nearby. Needs to be placed somewhere in the room where it is not likely to open unnecessarily. Not sure how long the batteries will last given that it opens and shuts at random on a frequent basis. Very heavy lid due to battery casing. Sometimes the lid has a tendency to dislodge if not replaced firmly.

Nice size
Works really well, slightly taller than most which is useful as the pup found out the last one could be opened by waving his nose over the sensor!
Quite a lot wider than most of the other sensor bins too which is great for being able to remover the bags easier!
Reliable, quality bin that does the job
Absolutely love this bin. Feels well made and is very sturdy. The automatic opening and closing is such a lovely function too. Don’t need to touch the bin when approaching it to throw things away. Just opens when you get close and closes once your done. A mechanical maid is the best description of this quality bin. I love it and would recommend without hesitatio
Great bargai
Had the older version that cost twice the price. New one seems to be more responsive and more robust.

Been using this bin for a while now, never any issues except user error when I switched it off when taking a bin bag out, replaced the bag then thought it was broken …went through a whole scenario of changing the batteries to find that I just forgot to flick the switch at the back, back on …Duh!

Looks good so far, been using it for a month now.
Easy to set up and use.
Very easy to set up. No need to touch the bin lid now, especially when my hands are full or wet. The shape is great too, doesnt take up as much room as my previous round bin. If the batteries run flat you can still lift the lid, there are indents on either side of the lid for left or right handed people.

I love this bin, it is easy to use, fits in the gap. The non-touch technology is great to prevent contamination whilst cooking. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bin has a vertical line at the front where the metal comes together. This should have been at the back, as the picture suggests. However, it was half price, definitely worth it!

The lid mechanism I think is really good. Its smooth and quite.
The value for money tho isn’t really there tho. 60 was paid but looks and feels more towards the 40 mark.
Only real issue is that the bin lid is only just sitting on top of the bin. So you cant pick it up by the lid. Apart from that it’s a bin with a working electric lid, job done

Great product. Fast delivery.
Little pricy for a bit but we have a bulldog that like running into things. Great height and due to auto lid means less spread of germs. We food our pup raw diet so it’s great not spreading any bacteria sound the bin when throwing things again. Great size and fast prime delivery. Only think I would say is for 70 include some batteries.
Had to send it back as it had a scratch. Seller was great and got the replacement within a few days.
Best 70 I’ve soent, my kids actually use the bin! Only down side is the flap lid is plastic although you can’t tell from looking at it.
This bin is a really good size. Takes a bit of getting use to, not having to press a pedal. Lid feels a bit flimsy but will see how it goes. Looks really nice & matches all my other Tower products.
