I bought three of these for my cats and the difference is incredible. Knowing where my cats are at all times is such a huge relief (mind you knowing how far they wander isn’t!). The features on the app are excellent and the AR feature in particular is a big help. The only big issue I have found is that you can’t buy spare batteries which means you have to keep your cats in while their battery recharges.

This product is amazing I bought it to track my kitten after it disappeared for two days, I signed up on the site and had an incredible assistance from the team. I highly recommend excellent purchase!

Bought another collar to put tracker on as the black one supplied with tracker made it come loose on many occasions but stays in place with her new collar. Works great, gives locations, very happy with this. I charge the tracker every second night as it needs charged.

Easy to set up and use, gives peace of mind that you know where your cat is. It can take a couple of minutes for the GPS to find the correct location of the cat when you sign into live, so don’t panic if you cat appears to be a bit far away , once the GPS settles it tracks the cats movements well. The light and sound function are good. The light flashes once it becomes dusk and you can turn the light on if required. My cat managed to pull off the tracker in our neighbours garden and came in without it, trying to catch mice down a mouse hole ! but using the GPS and the sound we found it with ease the following day. We usually charge the tracker overnight as she is not allowed out overnight so have had no problems with life of battery. Very pleased so far.

I was dubious about whether Mia would be happy wearing the Tractive but she doesn’t mind at all, Tracked is very accurate and I was surprised just how far Mia travels, she does between 2 and 4 miles a day. It’s great knowing exactly where she is and seeing her entire route sync with my phone when she returns home.

Live tracking to see where your cat is, long battery life, I’ve only seen it go as low as 85% after a days use.
Easy to set up a custom parameter so get notifications when cat goes out & in the parameter. Full history of cats activity which time can be custom set.
Brilliant tech. Big peace of mind knowing I’m never more than a few clicks away from knowing where my cat is.
    No more stress 🙂
    Great product fully recommend

    Amazing battery life

his is easy to use and a brilliant piece of kit. Had slight trouble with the collar and clip it comes with, and the ticker kept falling off. Turned on the beeper once we were in the general area and much to the cats disgust we found it.
I switched to the blue clip put it on her old collar and have not had a problem since.
Really great to see how far she travels :-). If you leave all the features on the battery will still last a couple of days then just charge it back up over night.

Small and compact but once charged it takes 5 minutes for the app to register its charged. The GPS is good to a point however love function is not good we put it on live and while the cat was sitting next to us the app had the cat all over the street and when we looked at the history it showed he had traveled 1.5 miles while sitting next to us. If you keep it on regular mode it’s usually good at tracking the cat. Battery life could be better. Accuracy could be better and set up could be easier . The collar it comes with is useless better to put it on your ow

This product as so many good parts to it, the GPS is really accurate, the battery life could be better but the app is great.
The collar that comes with it, isn’t the strongest safety clip so we put it on our own collar. Overall a good item

I’m so glad I got this as
my cat was often out & I was sure she had another home.
I am amazed every day where she travels to, sometimes far further than I would ever expect.
I have purchased another 2 for my 2nd cat & dog.
I have had another & tracker is far superior.

Perhaps one of the greatest inventions for pets after inventing pets. No more headache. Easy to use – fairly quick to charge. Great fun for the family to watch our pet moving around and discover where he/she likes to go. Fun App. The only downside is the battery – I hope one day there will be trackers working for weeks without stop with acceptable pricing.

It is a bit bigger and more cumbersome than we thought. It comes with an additional something (no description but could be an additional clip for collar). He has managed to get the tracker off (not sure we put it in right?) and lost the collar once (only had it a week and a half and he has never worn a collar before) but we got it back immediately thanks to the app. We love it but it is scary watching cats movement but reassuring when we see him coming towards front door and get to open it for him! It does not pick up his GPS signal when he is in the house or if in the glass greenhouse but everywhere else is perfect. The battery does not last as long as stated but there is 2 of us asking for live updates? It lasts around a day and a half. Check your GPS before buying

    Love it, kind of addictive!!

Bought as we live near quite a fast road and the cat is ranging further afield. Overall, it’s easy to use and comes with a couple of collar options. Had my doubts as to the size of the unit, but our boy is not bothered at all and carries out his usual activities unhindered. Unclips easily and clips back on easily to the collar.

I would say accuracy is within about 15-20m which is generally fine and it’s great at showing the cat’s pattern of movement and his patrol range.

Definitely charge the battery every couple of days as I suspect that the battery life may impact the accuracy of the positioning. Last night it showed him very far from his usual range and indeed he popped up outside a few minutes later – which he would not have achieved if he was where the tracker said he would be. Battery was on 19%.

Worth spending the extra for the tracking service as I have some peace of mind, and could collect him if the worst were to happen.

Yeah, I’m pretty happy with this and would recommend it.

Keep the unit regularly charged as it seems to affect accuracy

This is easy to set up with the app, making it easy to use. The GPS is very accurate and having a light on the tracker is handy to locate in the dark.
The battery life is very good but drains quickly if your always on live view watching where your pet is roaming. Being light weight is good and seems to be durable.

My main concern around buying a tracker was will it connect and report an accurate live location when I need it to? Thankfully this device has worked flawlessly so far. I live in a rural area and it has no problem finding mobile signal. The accuracy can be skewed by the cat roaming indoors and this can have an affect on the heat map but when he is outside it’s pretty good. The device would be quite big on a smaller cat. My cat wears his loosely and it doesn’t bother him despite never wearing a collar before.

    Good value for money

This is so easy to use, but the release on the black collar that came with it was easily opened by his lordship, so had to buy him a collar but the attachment fits on any collar very easily. Very accurate and have used it twice within this week to locate him. Highly recommend.

Overall I’m pretty happy with this!

    Tips:
    – when turning on live tracking to locate your kitty, give it a minute to triangulate, more often than not the location that initially pops up is incorrect, but once the GPS starts firing on all cylinders it will become pretty accurate!
    – you don’t need to fork out a year’s subscription in one go unless you’re going for the top premium package. You can click through options and pay 8.99 a month.

Our experience has been good so far, we’ve not had to use it in anger as of yet as our 1 year old cat is still very nervous to road noise etc so quite happy being skittish in our garden!

I was apprehensive about purchasing this based on some of the other reviews based on accuracy etc, however I’m really impressed. Our cat is just over 4KG, her mum was also a small cat, but the tracker fits on her fine and once shes trotting about she doesn’t even notice it!

She only goes out around once per day currently, and that’s usually for 30 mins max. The tracker is probably lasting 3 days by itself without needing charging (this is when in standby), so once I get a notification for low battery from the app I just plug it in to charge.

After I read that people were having issues with contacting tractive etc to request refunds of the membership (after their trackers were sent back to Amazon) I decided to just go with the 8.99 a month option until a point I’m confident in the tracker. It also means I don’t need to fork out up front for something (although I will do this once I’m happy with the tracker as it’ll work out much cheaper overall).

I’ll update this review in a few months once it’s been used in greater detail!

    So far, so good!

We love this tracker gives you peace of mind. We brought it as a short term use “to see where she hangs out” as opposed to everyday. It is quite big, but lite in weight. The accuracy is pretty good for what it is, but not sure it’s 100%. Battery ok and love the live option 🙂
The collar is also quite big and made as small as possible for our cat, so we were worried it’ll come off hence why we don’t use it daily. I would also prefer to have the option of 6 months membership as opposed to a default 12 months particularly as there’s a potential to loose the collar on the first week.
All in all it’s perfect for what we wanted.

Great product. My boy runs around all over the place and thus is helpful to see where he is at night. It’s pretty accurate and I can usually find him from this, only thing niggle is that once every so often it will say he’s shot a couple of miles away then come back but that’s usually when he’s going up a tree or something and the GPS has gone off par for a moment! Very easy to use, and great battery life too. I clip the tracker off each night and leave my lad with the smaller plastic piece that holds the tracker.

    Very useful

This was a risky purchase for us as we get awful phone signal at home. But the GPS is perfect and battery life is dependent on the distances and setup you use
We started tracking and have been flabbergasted by the miles out cat is putting in. This is a must buy for anyone interested in where their cats go when they are not asleep at home. I cannot believe I did not buy one soone

Our cat is quite petite (about 3.5kg). The tracker comes with a collar with an integrated mount for the tracker (you unclip the tracker to remove and charge). We found the collar supplied with the kit a little big on our cat (but it does recommend ~4kg+) and the clasp is very easy break! Unfortunately, because of this she lost the tracker on day 1! The tracker does also comes with a mount so you can attach it to an existing collar. We switched to this and since it has stayed firmly attached to the collar with no loss of tracker since! I should also say that we managed to locate the lost collar by using the app and playing the sound which I suppose illustrates the point – it functions well as it should for its intended purpose (provided it remains attached). The app itself is pretty good – interesting to see her little heat map! We didn’t realise that you had to pay annually or biannually (rather than monthly) for the app subscription. It was 145 for 2 years I think. I think it would make the technology a bit more accessible if a monthly subscription was available as I image not everyone would be keen to pay all up front (us included). Final point is just relating size. We were worried about this. When I sent photos to family of our cat wearing it, they all said it looks ridiculously big. It is very light but she seems to get on ok with it. We don’t let her out overnight so when she comes in in the evening we take it off. I probably wouldn’t want to leave it on 24hr/day as it is bulky and might become irritating but no real issue so far… we are more concerned about having the option to know where she is after losing her for a couple of days recently!

We bought three tractive trackers for our cats when we moved house. We were worried they might go missing when we finally let them out.

So easy to setuo, all three setup in minutes. The app is easy to use and allows you to create a profile for each cat (think Facebook!) and then create a geofence so you know if your pet leaves the area.

Tracking is good and if you are out search for a pet (as we were last night!) You can switch on a light and alarm for visual and audio help finding your beloved pet. Battery life depends on how often the tracker checks in. I would say max 2 days between charges.

Overall a great tracker. Just remember you need to buy a subscription for each so not cheap but well worth it for piece of mind.

This product is excellent. Although its subscriptions are somewhat pricey, I get the piece of mind knowing my cat is safe. Despite the distance accuracy being slightly off-course, if I need to find the cat, it is always within a metre or so. The light and sound functions ease this when searching at night. Better still, the cat seems fine with its new tracker collar and doesn’t try to remove it!

Our cat was being taken in by neighbours for weeks, but we could not find out who….until this collar was fitted. Now the neighbours are scared to take her in overnight. We can see where she is, so call for her when nearby and she comes back in. WARNING…. Do not use the break away collar that this comes with. Luckily the collar came off when we forgot to put the tracker on….would have been a bit expensive. Make sure a proper collar is fitted or glue the clip together on the original

I’ve tried a few different trackers for my cat and had a good one a few years ago but the company closed, I bought a Vodafone one and it was laughable. So don’t waste your money on something really cheap, it won’t perform well and you’ll won’t get that piece of mind you are looking for.

All trackers seem to use similar technology, a mix of WiFi and GPS but for some reason the cheap ones just don’t work very well.

This one is far superior – you get what you pay for, and with this you’ll know where your pet is, it’s really easy to use, and despite looking big it’s really light and so won’t bother your cat at all.

It has a few additional features that other trackers don’t do that I love:

    – If the tracker gets lost the light and sound function works well, and saves you having to knock on doors apologising for running in a neighbour’s garden as you can see or hear it and so find it really easily.

    – If your cat is home, this tracker also shows you it’s within Bluetooth range too, so you know it’s nearby.

With GPS you will find that the location sometimes jumps around a little, it happens with all trackers, but you can tell it’s not a true location reading as it will show your pet had moved in straight lines, through houses etc that is impossible. You can ignore this and within seconds it will find your pet.

So I would definitely recommend this tracker above any other. Well done Tractive you do have a quality product here.

Serious about a pet tracker? This is the one.

So I brought this collar for my 7 month old cat to let him out the house for the first time. The children were really worried he wouldn’t come back so we decided to buy a tracker for their peace of mind.

The tracker is rather large but it didn’t bother our cat what so ever. The tracker itself is great, very accurate! However the collar it comes with wasn’t so brilliant. We have only had the tracker 3 weeks and he has lost it 3/4 times. Luckily we are able to find the tracker due to the location finder. However he lost the whole collar and tracker again yesterday and unfortunately we have no idea where it is as it is now out of battery.

I did pay for a year up front of being able to track the cat but unfortunately I didn’t pay the extra to replace the tracker if it gets lost.

So overall I wouldn’t really recommend the tracker as over the past 3 weeks we have the lost the tracker itself 3 times and then whole tracker and collar twice. So I have paid 55 for the initial cost, and then 55 for the subscription and I no longer have the collar or the tracker.

UPDATE- The customer service I have received from Tractive has been incredible. They have sent another tracker out to me and mount to attach to the cats normal collar. Fingers crossed this stays on longer than before. But the customer service I have received has been amazing!

I love this product! My cat was the tendacy to wander off and get himself lost! I got the tracker in the hope it would help us locate him easily….and it really does! You can use it in “live” mode which gives you an up to date location and have the option to turn on the light or sound to help find your furry friend in the dark.
I wasnt sure if it was going to be worth the money or if it would be too annoying for jet but he doesn’t seemed bothered by it and happily goes about his business with the tracker in. Hes currently indoors so the battery is on charge.
Honestly if you want to have peace of mind about where your pet goes, get this….its highly worth it.

I have 3 trackers and they are very reliable. They do go in and out of reception now and again, but usually the live tracking sorts this out. Sometimes when they lose reception, it notifies you that your cat has left the virtual fence, but its pretty obvious when this happens that they are not miles away, and soon comes back.
All in all I am happy with these trackers, and the Tractive team are lovely and helpful.
They also prompt you to update, which I have noticed over a couple of years have improved them a lot, so I think if issues arise, they can be rectified which is a good feature.
The only problem for me is that they are rather big, but the cats dont seem to mind them so not a massive issue.
I would recommend, and it is comforting to have an idea of where your cats are spending most of their time.

I’ve been looking for a GPS cat tracker for a while and bought this model on recommendation from a colleague.

It arrived very quickly and was very simple to set up and register. Buyers should be aware, however, that the advertised subscription price, whilst accurate, must be purchased in block periods of 1, 2 or 5 years with payment up front. We went for 1 year of the premium rate as we didnt want to commit too heavily and then find our cat didn’t like wearing it.

The tracker unit itself is small but not tiny, it still looks quite large on a cat and I can see why Tractive only recommend it for cats over 4kg – Our 5.5kg male doesn’t seem bothered by it but I certainly wouldn’t put it on my smaller female cat. Despite the size, the unit is fairly light and easy to charge with the supplied USB lead (we’re finding that we get 4-5 days of use per charge). Our cat DID manage to detach the tracker from the collar clip twice in the first three days but, one quick email to Tractive’s customer support dept later and they despatched us a replacement collar with integrated clip, plus a spare clip to use on any collar, completely free of charge. Very impressive.

Tracking is achieved via a mobile app (you can also access it via a web page, but the app offers more functionality) which is best described as ‘Garmin Connect for cats’! You can see a GPS trace of where your cat has been (or, indeed, is right now) and also heat maps of commonly visited areas, this is fully customisable by whichever time period you choose. You can also input your cat’s measurements and weight to see a daily calorie burn count and even a local leaderboard of active minutes/distance covered, with the option to befriend owners of fellow Tractive-equipped cats!
Additonally, you can upload photos of your cat, together with their chip ID, whether they’ve been spayed/nueutered or not, plus your contact details.

All in all, this seems to be a good quality product with excellent support. It isn’t the cheapest but I guess the adage of ‘you get what you pay for’ applies here. If I could improve one thing, it would be a reduction in size of the tracker unit by at least half. I imagine this will come over time and will be interested in upgrading when it does.

Having a Tractive tracker and corresponding app for my cat Louis gives me great peace of mind. I can see where he is at any given time, which is great, as he is new to going outside and is not very streetwise yet. The tracker has popped off his collar a couple of times, but that could be because I haven’t clicked it on properly. That does give me cause for concern, and I wonder if there is a more secure way of attaching it to the collar. Otherwise, I’m completely happy and very pleased that I decided to get the Tractive tracke

Purchased a Tractive GPS collar for Cats in February 2020 as we were temporarily moving into a rental property and were concerned about how our cats would react in their new external surroundings once we allowed them out. We have cats who don’t go far from home and cats who like to wander a bit further afield so the tracker was really for them. 8 weeks after moving one of our cats went missing, luckily he was wearing the tracker and we managed to locate him no problem despite him hiding in undergrowth where we couldn’t see or access him. The accuracy of the GPS location was within about 6 feet of where he actually was and the flashing light on the tracker enabled us to quickly spot him in the dark of the night. He wouldn’t come out of the undergrowth and we couldn’t get to him so we eventually had to leave him there overnight, but we were able to keep checking his location which was reassuring. Early next morning we did manage to get him out to discover he’d got a minor injury, probably from fighting another cat. We were so worried about him while he was missing and overnight and the tracker was worth every penny to know where he was.
We bought an extra battery from the start which enabled us to always have one fully charged – they normally last 3 days if you don’t have the ‘Live’ location function on. You can check the battery % on your app which is really useful. The batteries have just started to reduce their life time after about 10 months of continual usage so I think I will need to buy two more soon.
We have just moved again into the house we were waiting to be built and so the tracker is proving invaluable again as the cats start to explore another set of new external surroundings.
Not sure if I missed this feature or it has been part of the recent app update but I have found I can now remotely turn the tracker light on and make a sound come out of it – even better for locating a missing or hiding pet !
The cost of the tracker, batteries and subscription are worth every penny for the peace of mind you get from knowing where your pets are.
I have given 5 stars, I would have given 4.5 if I could because of the battery life. I would have expected a couple of years of usage before needing to replace.
Overall a fantastic product I would highly recommend.

When the weather was bad I checked the app and could see he was close by so called for him and along he came! It really puts my mind at rest. Their customer service is brilliant also.

So pleased with our Tractive collar, so easy to use and the app is BRILLIANT. Incredibly accurate and especially love the live tracking. We initially bought a competitor brand due to their collar being far sleeker and I wanted the comfort factor for Kevin but we were very disappointed with the collar, the accuracy wasn’t good, quite often a 30 minute delay in his last location, anyhow he lost that collar and we could never find it!!!! Tractive is just wonderful, wish we had bought it initially. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

    Peace of mind with Tractive

Order came really quickly and was very easy to set up. The tracker itself looks quite big but doesn’t bother my cat, he doesn’t even notice it’s there. Live tracking is great for peace of mind and you can get a 24 hour view of where your cat has been. If you pay for a more expensive subscription you can keep a history of your cats tracking history but with the basic it keeps for 24 hours so make sure to take a screen shot!

I brought this to keep my two cats safe and know where they are. It’s brilliant for piece of mind. Although the tracking can jump around a little bit, when you put it on live track mode it tells you exactly where your cat is within minutes so does exactly what I wanted! The attachment is on the large side but my cats are average sized and they don’t care about it and aren’t bothered. Brilliant piece of kit!

I have a six month old Norwegian Forest cat who decided he was ready to start exploring outside our garden. We live in a rural area with lots of open fields and wooded areas. Although nervous of putting a collar on him, I gave it a go and so pleased I did. I can relax and keep a check on exactly where he is and if necessary go find him and bring him closer to home. The little blue flashing light when the ‘live’ is enabled is great as I can often see that long before I see him in the dark. Accuracy is sometimes a bit off but that’s probably due to the location where we are as phone signals are sometimes not wonderful.

I bought the original tractive cat earlier this year with the care package, I’m glad I did take out care, as after the loss of two original trackers due to breaking away at the battery instead of the breakaway point I was given an ikati instead. All went well for a few weeks, then my cat started dropping it regularly, often within 10 minutes of going out. I discovered that he was catching the clasp on the collar that is supplied with it when having a scratch, as this isn’t a clip as such, it’s a kind of dovetail connection that easily slips open if caught to the side with a claw, also once altered to fit it sits on the side of the neck, rather than on the back, again sitting right where cats scratch.
I’d recommend buying a separate safety collar with a more secure clip to use with the mount instead. He’s only dropped his collar twice since, once scrapping (it was in the middle of the garden) and once caught in a hedge.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe bought the tracker for our re-homed Bengal as we were worried about him going out in a brand new environment. It’s proved invaluable & gives so much peace of mind.

Accuracy is pretty good for the most part & the battery lasts for the day, we close the cat flap & re-charge it over night.
The fact that it has a flashing light when live tracking really helps, especially at night & the light/sound function has helped us locate the collar a couple of times when it came off, including from inside a neighbour’s conservatory!

It’s a bit chunky but is absolutely fine on our Bengal & it doesn’t bother him in the slightest. The Hunter collar it came with wasn’t very secure as the quick release clasp comes apart too easily, so we use the separate mount on his usual collar. This was missing from the box but customer services sent one out immediately & replaces it when it was found to be faulty. Very responsive & very helpful.

All in all, a great purchase that provides peace of mind, is a great insight into the secret life of your cat & great customer service.

Fantastic bit of kit that provides complete peace of mind

I bought the Tractive GPS after our cat had gone missing for 2 days and had turned up filthy and traumatised. It was so easy to set up on the app and attach to her collar. I now know almost exactly where she is at any given moment and can check on battery life with ease. One has to remember that the GPS is not accurate down to the last cm, but it gives a good approximate location and has a light and sound to refine your search. One can teach them to associate the sound with food which aids their return!

We got the tractive GPS collar for our cat and I must say that it is well worth the investment. Although you would still have to pay for a subscription, it is still a good deal and we can keep an eye on our cat without leaving our seats!! So would highly recommend this product!

The tracker is good for the price. We found that the free collar that it came with fell off easily, but the device could be fastened to any alternative collar through the use of an attachment that was also provided for free. This company provides good customer service should you have any issues.

Would recommend to anyone that’s worried about losing their cat. By using the play sound from the collar option in the settings to not only find the collar If the cat slips out of the collar, I’ve trained my cat to come home at the click of a button on my phone anywhere… Genius.

Our Bengal had a habit of disappearing all day and getting him home was difficult which was quite upsetting for the kids, many evenings searching for him in the undergrowth. We suspected some neighbours were feeding him as he was never hungry when home. Since fitting the Tractive we can find him much easier and neighbours are less likely to feed as it’s obvious his owners know where he is spending his time! Tractive gps tracker fits very well, good accuracy and battery life.

Only downside, 2 occasions the quick release collar has come off, but we have been able to find the collar and tracker by the gps location and the option to switch on sound when you get near.

An easier life, less stress and happy children.

    UPDATE:
After my complaint about this product I recieved excellent customer service. They contacted me directly and offered a refund. I was happy with this. The only qualm I still have is that we were led to believe that we could subscribe for just a few months. However, the only option was a full year.

Product has broken 3 weeks into its use. And there is no way to return it as I received it one month ago. I will charge the battery over night and by morning the battery will still be flat. Poor poor quality product.
The subscription to the GPS is also misleading, the description states you can pay for 3, 6 or 12 month GPS usage. However after you buy this product you will find out you can only do a 12 month subscription at a much higher cost than advertised. All together I have spent over 100 on this product and its subscription to the GPS and I got 3 weeks use out of it!! I will say that for the few weeks the tracker worked it was great, but not worth it. Do not buy this product.

Studley (my cat) is a roamer and after losing him for a week we decided we could not go through the upset again. Brought this and once we got him home (and after his grounding had ended), he was let back out with the tracker attached. He went off again and didn’t come back. So next day aimed with phone we tracked him down over a mile from home. Thank god for the tracker and the peace of mind we now have. Only concern and not yet an issue is that the battery only last two days. So we now track him down each evening and keep him in overnight.

We bought this for our elder cat when he started wandering , 30hrs away from home sometimes. Delivery was great , easy to set up and use. The virtual fence can be set as small or big as we want so we get alerts when he goes outside our immediate garden
Our cat is huge ,7.8kg so the size doesn’t bother him but on a small cat it may be more difficult and too bulky.
Records and auto updates are really good.
The Main issue is the battery drains quite quickly so we bought 3 more so we can keep them charged and changed every day .

Gives great peace of mind to us and we now pretty much where he is at any given time

I like that I am alerted when he leaves the fence and can see where he is going , surprised at how far he ventures sometime as I would never have looked that far for him and I don’t worry so much when he is out as I can track him live . Would prefer if it came in different colours. Olly has had his Tractive for about 6 months and knows he is getting out as soon as we click it on his collar. He has came home a few times without his collar as it is a quick release and it is so accurate we can track it on our phones and find it again. I would recommend anyone with a cat that goes out on his own to get one as it gives you peace of mind

We bought this simply for reassurance when our wee lad goes for a wander. Not only can you see accurately where he is, but if needs be, you can find him easily – the light and sound functions assist. He has now learned to return home when the sound is activated. Battery is generally fine but advisable to recharge before letting them outside. One of the larger trackers but with size comes accuracy and functionality. Highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI highly recommend the Tractive Cat tracker!
After my little boy had to have a leg amputated after going missing and then finally arriving home with a broken leg, there was no way he was going to be allowed back out again without a tracker. I got the Tractive one because of the good reviews and it has definitely been worth it, I know where he is 24hrs a day, and the piece of mind it gives is priceless. The app is great and I love the activity monitoring as well as being able to see where he is and the live tracking is a fabulous feature!
We have a spare battery so there is one always fully charged and ready to swap when needed. Another of my cats has just returned home after being missing for 3 days so another tracker has been ordered!!

    Fantastic tracker!

4/5 stars because the battery life is terrible and the accuracy is not always great, however, it does give me peace of mind in knowing where my cat is.
I thought the bulky size would be a problem but my cat does not seem to be bothered, he sleeps with it fine and he’s quite small (1.5 years and 4.2kg).
The gps accuracy does not always work well. Sometime it shows my cat as being at the front of the house when he’s actually at the back. The non live tracking mode is meant to update every few minutes but sometimes it can go for over 30 min without updating until the live mode is turned on.
It does not work indoors so if my cat goes into someone else’s house and the location has not been updated in a while I lose track of him.
He lost it at least 3 times and I was able to find it even though he loses in a field full of high bushes and nettles (painful to get it). I was mostly able to find through the sound although it’s not too loud and it was near a noisy road so it took me a while. But I understand it can’t be too loud otherwise it’d be harmful to the cats.
The battery life is terrible and I hope they can enhance it in a newer model. It claims to last for up to 2 days but if it’s not charged everyday it will die in the middle of the second day, not a good thing to let it happen when your cat goes missing for the full afternoon. I charge every night.
My cat is a little explorer who is happy to get out in the morning and only come back at the end of the day, so this tracker has given me a great peace of mind, before I spent the whole day worried about him. Now at least I know where he is even if he doesn’t want to come home during the day.
If the accuracy and the battery life were better it would be a 5 star product.
I’ve had the tracker for about 4 months.

GPS accurate time within about 10ft, works very well. My only concern is the fastening, it is a safety release type in case the cat is left hanging by the collar it won’t strangle it. But it is TOO easy to open, if cat scratches it will just pull it off… the sound it makes is also poor, have to be very close to hear.

So far so good but bit naughty that it doesn’t let you activate the tracker without subscribing. Even though it advertises the cost as a monthly cost it takes a years subscription all at once and some reason you have to pay a billing fee too!

Bought this after our house cat went missing for couple days. It is helpful to know where the cat is, even the GPS location is somehow a bit shifted and not very accurate. It’s also fun to see how far the cat goes and to know his routines at the surrounding area.

    Cons:
    1) The battery life is about 2 days, not as the ad claims. Have to buy a second one as a replacement every 2 days.
    2) The tracker once was separated from the holder and lost at the back yard of a neighbour’s house. With the GPS and the light initiated by Live function, after visiting several potential places, we finally got it back before the battery ran out. Now we wrap the tracker with the holder by tape to avoid this happen again.
    3) It occasionally loses its GPS signal for several hours or half a day and only shows inaccurate, when we know that our cat is somewhere outside.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is the best tracker on the market by far. My cat went missing for 7 days, when she was found I ordered one of these based on my neighbours recommendation. Such a relief to know where my cat is all day and night. It’s fascinating to see where she has been by clicking on the history button, or I can monitor her live. Very easy to install, just downloaded the app to my iPhone and my laptop. If you monitor your cat or dog live a lot it does drain the battery quicker. Battery lasts around 2-3 days. I ordered a spare battery so I’ve always got a spare one charged to swap over. My cat is only 3.3kg so she is very small but she doesn’t mind it at all.

If you’re not 100% sure on this..just get it! You won’t be disappointed. My cat often wonders off all day and I always wondered and worried about where she went, but now I know exactly where she is.

The app is really easy to use and accurate. I have gone out at least 3 times since having it, to check its accuracy and bring her home and it’s great. I’ve found her really easily. Brings great peace of mind. You do have to charge it every two days but the app shows you the battery percentage.

Only downside is that it is a little large but it’s very lightweight and my cat doesn’t even seem to notice it.

Although a little bulky Jack seems to be ok with it. The accuracy is affected by buildings and when Jack is stalking in the bushes but we can still get an idea of where he is. as soon as jack gets into the open the tracker connects and is accurate to within a few feet. We find this gives us peace of mind because we always have a good idea of where Jack is and also when he is on his way back so we can let him in straight away rather than have him waiting outside

I have two small cats and theses fit ok on them. at first they do look big but the cats do not have any issues with them on.

subscriptions are expensive and they do not offer a discount for more than one device that would have been nice as a customer appreciation. looking just under 200 for the GPS device and a 2yr subscription

the gps can give false readings from time to time but does sort itself out once it re updates location
Battery lasts 4 days without live tracking on and a few hours if live tracking was permanently on but this can be turned on/off on the phone app until you really need it

So, my cat, Ollie, has become a bit of a roamer during the last couple of months, started near the beginning of lockdown, actually. His first absence was for 14 days and I only found him because of a FB posting, his second was for 10 days and, now, he goes to the same sort of area (about 300 yards away) until I go down to collect him in the evening even though he does know the way back home! The problem before I had the tracker was that I would not know exactly where in the other road he was and, sometimes, it would seem, he wasn’t there at all. Now, I can set the tracker to live when I want to find him, go onto Google Maps and I am directed straight to the little scally! Day one wasn’t so good as he lost his collar (and tracker) but, luckily, because of the directions and being able to turn the sound on, a kind neighbour was able to find it under a lot of undergrowth before the battery ran out!

I really only bought this for a bit of fun, as I’ve always wondered how far our cat really goes when he’s out and about – he’s a real outdoors cat!

On receiving the tracker, it was super easy to setup, only had to download the app on my phone, register and key in the unique tracker reference, and that was it, good to go. Only took 5 minutes.

When I first put it on I wasn’t sure if my cat would accept it, but he’s not bothered at all. It helps that he’s a very large build of long haired cat, so I think he can barely feel the tracker in amongst all his hair.

From the times when I have been able to cross check it,the tracker accuracy has been excellent. Live tracking mode does very quickly sap battery, but then most of the time you don’t need this to be on. I have had the odd erroneous point showing on the map, even my adventurous cat couldn’t get a couple of miles away and back again, in a few minutes! But that aside, it’s been excellent.

Very pleased with our purchase, and I’d happily recommend to anyone. I think it’s a really reasonable price for such an accurate piece of kit. And although we only bought it mainly for a bit of fun, it’s reassuring to know that if he ever goes AWOL, we’ll be able to quickly find him.

This is the first time I have tried using a tracker for my 14 month old Maine Coon and it has been a positive experience.
I initially thought it wasn’t going to be accurate enough but once set up and taken outside I realised it was much better than I first thought. The signal indoors wasn’t strong enough.
When looking for advice Tractive advisors very quickly responded and were very helpful.

It was great to know exactly where my cat was and I have been bowled over by this piece of technology. It was VERY easy to set up and caused no discomfort to my cat despite looking quite bulky. Unfortunately I have lost the device within only 5 days and currently cannot accurately locate it. It has a sound device on it but I don’t what that sounds like so not sure how loud it is, it also has a light for searching at night but battery might have run out by then

It’s easy to use once it’s set up. I cannot set up a monthly subscription. It just wouldn’t give me the option.

We have had this tracker for more than one week. Our cat, Chester, is a larger cat being a little over 6 kgs and does not have any problems with the tracker. He can clean himself with it on and it does not stop him from bringing presents home to us.

We decided to get him one because (1) he has lost over 8 collars in the past 5 months and we hoped to track the collars down and (2) we were just curious where he went since we live near a common, somewhat busy road, and fields. We find that it is mostly accurate and the battery lasts every for about two days – less if you use the live tracker function more.

We do take it off of Chester at night because he sleeps through the night at home and when he takes his mid-day nap. Other than that, he has learned to sit down and accept the collar before going outside. We do have the tracker on a separate collar from his tags/bell collar because it is easier to take on and off.

We hope that the tracker continues to perform the way it is currently.

So far so good! We love watching where our ole' boy spends his time.

We couldn’t bear the idea or losing him again but didn’t want to keep him trapped inside.

I was sceptical about the Tractive tracker and when we got it it seemed a bit big.

However, our cat doesn’t have a problem wearing it and when I was alerted to him going outside the virtual fence I set up, it led me straight to the garden he was (happily) sat in.

This has taken all the worry out of wondering about the whereabouts of my recently acquired rescue cat as he adjusts to his new outdoor territory.
It’s also surprising how far he goes and the Vitual Fence notifies me when he’s going too near the main road.
Sometimes on Live Tracking it takes a few minutes for the GPS to find the device- but when it does it is completely accurate.
Yes it’s not the smallest device but the cat seems to be quite comfortable with it.

Having previously purchased a competitive product, which only worked sometimes, I was pointed towards the Tractive tracker by my sister, as a good alternative.

Having read reviews about battery life I ordered the tracker with a spare battery.

The device was delivered on time and was easy to install, following the instructions provided. We selected the required subscription option and the tracker was ready.

The tracker has been live for about two weeks and so far we have been delighted with both the “live” tracking and “history” maps to track our cat. The batteries have lasted 3 days (and available power can easily be checked within the app).

So far a very impressive device.

  94. PatHennings says:

This is a great little product which I cannot be without now. The battery can last 2 to 3 days if you do not use live tracking. Occasionally the device will tell you your pet has darted a few streets away, however, I know my cat cannot move that fast and never in a straight line so common sense tells me to ignore these erroneous readings and within a few seconds it is back to a correct reading. The fence works well and alerts instantly if my cat has wandered further than I am comfortable with. It was accurate enough for me to find my cat when he disappeared one night and I managed to retrieve him from garden in the neighbourhood.

The only problem was that the battery died after a couple of months and I could not recharge it. I rushed to replace the battery with a new one from Amazon as I had no idea how long it would take Tractive to reply to my customer service request. It is frustrating not being able to call the service centre, and also not knowing how long it will take for them to respond to my email. However, credit where it’s due, once Tractive replied (within 48 hours) their replies were frequent, helpful and sensitive to my concerns for my cat.

I would certainly recommend this product it is worth the money and the annual subscription cost.

This is a very large tracker but the cat doesn’t seem to mind. Tracker shows the cat has been places I know it can’t have been so accuracy is questionable. Also note it’s god which is not picked up when indoors. Still happy with this though and recently noticed the cat wasn’t wearing the collar and easily found the tracker using the sound option to trace it!

Does it’s job and gives peace of mind!

  96. JerrodBiehl says:

It is very easy to use and it’s a nice product. The battery is a problem cause as soon as you turn it on and you need to find your cat in your neighborhood, you risk to run out of battery every time. So you need to charge it daily before letting your cat out. You also need a subscription for the GPS. Sometimes the GPS says your cat is out of the fence even when he’s home which means that that it loses the coordinates or the exact position.

A month after purchasing and I’m very happy with this cat tracker. Easy to use, tracker appears to be pretty accurate, live tracking works well and you can also see where your cat has been over the past 24 hours. I also like how it tells you if the GPS signal is poor and the location shown is likely to be inaccurate. The tracker is easy to clip on and off my cat’s collar and is light enough that he doesn’t seem to notice it. Battery life is good. After having no end of troubles with a previous cat tracker I can recommend this one based on its performance to date.

Great to see where my cat goes. Lost tracker once as cat collar unclipped, luckily found it but had to look hard due to brambles and undergrowth. Subscription costs are quite costly and no monthly plan have to pay in one lump sum.
I don’t let my cat out at night so charge the tracker every night.

As this fits onto my cats existing collar it is much easier to put on than previous model and so far it hasn’t been lost. It tells me where he is and where he’s been. The gps spikes sometimes but not when it’s on live tracking. The only downside to it is there is no choice of colour which may not be important but it is white & very easily seen on my little black cat.

Golden Review Award: 71 From Our UsersThis is a great product. It sits neatly under my cats chin and he doesn’t seem to notice it. Certainly hasn’t tried to pull it off. It has given me peace of mind that I can find him if he disappeared. He did get spooked at Firework night and vanished. I was frantic! Found him in next doors garden 36 hours later. Now if he’s out I can easily find him.
The App shows all activity, sleep and battery levels… very helpful.
A great purchase and well worth the money.

Peace of mind and easy to use
