    Never use a 'stone' again!
This is a great tool with which to hone your knives, chisels etc. The 300 side cuts very fast, and most likely you’ll rarely need to use it. The 100 is perfect for sharpening my kitchen knives and Leather cutting tools.

You do need to break this tool in – grab an old chisel or knife to get this required bit done. Use the honing oil only that is made for this. It too will last a long time; you don’t need much.

    Fantastic. Highly recommend

I use this diamond plate to reset the bevel on my place irons and chisels but I mainly bought it to flatten my ceramic glass stones and it does a great job at it for about a third of the cost on the Shapton flattening plate.

This thing is heavy, but in return you'll get a surface that'll stay flat for a very long time. When used with the company's approved oil, it took very little force or time to put a fine shaving edge on a tomahawk. Ideal for around the house sharpening, but a bit big and heavy for carrying out in the field. The 300 and 1,000 grit seems about ideal for all my sharpening needs.

    Would recommend
Would recommend, never tried the cheap diamond plates on offer but I believe you cannot go far wrong with a Trend product.
I suppose at the end of the day you get what you pay for in most cases

Fantastic product! Monocrystaline diamond electroplated in nickel. The only type of diamond stone you should buy. Takes FAR fewer strokes to build or replace a razor edge than with a whetstone. Will not have the worn down cavity in the "sweet spot" that a whetstone gets. Simply superior in all aspects. *MUST* use diamond stone lapping fluid. Only takes a few drops, but the molecular size of the fluid particles allow the diamonds to do their work. If you use any other type of oil, the particles will be too large and will fill the valleys between the diamonds (on the the 1000 grit side) eliminating their ability to do their job correctly and efficiently. I have used whetstones by hand for four decades...and will never go back. This is the last stone I will ever need to buy.

Very flat fast cutting diamond stone, however, do not use a lot pressure, especially when sharpening surfaces with a small footprint. I mistakenly sharpened something with a small footprint using alot of pressure and it appears to have worn through the surface locally, newbie mistake.

Classic Pro Double-Sided Diamond Sharpening Stone
This is a great stone for beginners to pros. Unlike water stones where you have to level the stone before each use, there is no need with this one. Solid steel plate with nickel plating is almost perfectly flat. Use with some kind of honing solution or even glass cleaner, just be sure to dry it off after use and store in the pouch. I also tossed in a desiccant pouch to keep it dry and rust free.
Use can use it free handed or use a honing guide for chisels and hand planer blades. Excellent quality !!

I did a lot of reading before buying a diamond stone. First, I wanted something that was absolutely flat, and unlikely to warp, so the material had to be thick to withstand temperature changes, etc. I wanted something that used the correct bonding process, instead of weak adhesives. That meant spending real money on the stone. Trend were the cited brand from several trusted reviewers, and so I finally ponied up so I could properly sharpen knives, chisels, and planes. This was well worth the investment, and my chisels and planes have never been sharper - significantly sharper than using whetstones alone, much flatter edge, and with a leather strop to finish you will get a terrifically sharp tool when you are done.

    A brilliant bit of ki
I love this stone. After struggling with cheap whetstones I decided to opt for this one. There are plenty of YouTube videos on this stone and how to use it properly. It is lightning fast to use and gives a great result. I managed to sharpen 3 chisels, 4 kitchen knives and a couple of pocket knives in under an hour. Just a brilliant bit of kit.

Absolutely awesome stone. Have used this for roughly 6 years now and have sharpened everything from knives to plane blades to chisels to axe heads. It has really stood the test of time....especially with the abuse i have inflicted on it. Mine does look a little rough from the unappreciated life it has had but still does a great job sharpening my tools and also flattening my ceramic glass stone. It is a little pricey but you def get what you pay for. Highly recommended!

Great value for anyone that uses hand tools. Use a quality lubricant each sharpening session. Arrives in a pouch inside a light weight cardboard box wrapped in bubble wrap. If taken care of this will be a one time purchase for the small shop.

    Quality for The Money
I use this diamond stone to flatten my Arkansas stones as well as initializing new chisels and plane irons. It arrived in a nice durable cloth case with a rubber mat to set the stone on so it won’t slide during use.

One side is 300 grit and the other 1000. As a sharpening maniac I find the stone to be durable and most importantly FLAT!

Yes, if and when I need another I will buy this one.

    Perfectly flat as advertised
I bought this because it was so highly recommended by professionals on YouTube. This is a replacement of the first stone. I was excited to get a hand plane on the stone. The 300 grit side just seemed to grab and I could tell it was really removing metal. When I checked there were deep gouges on the sole of the plane. Turns out the guaranteed flat diamond stone has all 4 corners with really sharp raised points on both sides of the stone and the very edges were also raised so it was dished on both sides. I guess the flatness is only in the middle area of the plate not at the edges and corners. I’ll be contacting the company about the damage to my plane.

When I got the replacement it was WAY different. It was perfectly flat. Edges were chamfered. No problems with the replacement. I would buy this again. I highly recommend this.

I use hand woodworking tools-planes, chisels etc and this stone gets me sharp quickly and back to wood working. Only needs 3-4 strokes and done. I have no issues with it. If you are looking for a highly polished surface then get a 2000 grit stone to lap with after.

    Pricey but worth i
I didnt realize how much of a difference a good diamond stone would make in my sharpening process. I was using a $20 diamond stone then finishing with 2k shapton- 12k shapton- strop. Took FOREVER.. why? Diamond stone wasnt flat 🙁
This one is flat! And works like a gem on all my woodworking tools! I use the 300 side to flatten the shaptons too. Should have bit the bullet on the price sooner!

    It works great.
Quality control is lacking, as mine came with a very obvious defect that should have been spotted if a human had ever looked it over.
It has some kind of a burr embedded into the stone, but it scraped off

Seems a little pricey but after using and seeing the results, it will certainly take the place of the multiple paper and glass steps for chisel and plane iron blades. Great product and would recommend for shop blade sharpening

Affilatura rapida ed efficace. La grana 300/1000 quindi non aspettatevi una cosa professionale ma per hobbisti va pi che bene. L’affilatura risulta buona specialmente per legno dolce.

Took me some deep pondering before pulling the trigger on this seemingly luxury item. At this price point I was highly motivated to do a meticulous examination prior to use. I found it flawless. From the little Stanley block to the thick Lie Nielsen bulls and the hand me down / garage sale chisels, I am speeding my way to flat backs and true bevels. This beast will be paying for itself in short order. I’m approaching vintage cutting tools in a new light now. With a few swipes on this diamond I have already returned 4 cheap router bits that I was prepared to replace back to better than acceptable results in minutes. No brainer.

    Good Quality
Nice to have the 300 grit on one side and 1000 grit on the other.
Size is large enough to sharpen most tools, and with the rubber pad it does not move around.

This is the stone you absolutely need for chisels and hand plane blades. I used water on it and it left a little rust staining, but the eraser it came with took that right off. Now I mix hone right with my water so it won’t rust.

Nothing to dislike. Well worth the 180$. Pass a steel plate over both sides when you first get it to knock off and diamond that may stick up. Very flat! Pass over any cheaper stone and get this one! 300 grit side can be used to flatten water and oil stones.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersRegarding diamond stones and "rust": The nickel coating is rust-proof. Synthetic diamonds don't rust. The problem with rust is the steel particles that come off your blades when sharpening. They lodge in the stone and will rust if left there. You can clean the stone with water and Trend Tool Cleaner and a fine brass brush. Then spray the stone with a light coating of Trend Tool Cleaner(leave it on) and it will prevent rust. You DO NOT need to buy Trend's expensive lapping fluid. The Tool Cleaner has a rust inhibitor that does the same job. The Tool Cleaner does a great job of both cleaning and inhibiting rust. It is far cheaper than the lapping fluid. The lapping fluid is very high quality, BUT it is not necessary. Any decent honing fluid will work as long as you keep enough of it on the stone to float away the debris. The Tool Cleaner is probably not a good substitute for honing fluid.
