Gravity fed hot water system
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed.

This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is increased due to the addition of a Booster Pump.
Unvented System
An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage.
Combination Boiler
A combi – boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Excellent replacement for my old Opal 11 unit . I fitted it and it was working within 1hr.
Pleased with the overall appearance and function,the shower head gives a nice even flow, but the downside was how ridiculously short the flex was.
Had to adapt the old flex so it could be re used on the new shower.
Am a little puzzled and annoyed why the manufacturers would spoil an otherwise great value for money product by skimping on an important but inexpensive part of the package.

Anyway I go off at a tangent…..After installed it worked for about 3 months, not really that great to be honest but it was a shower and did the job. Over the last 2 weeks it has not been able to heat the water properly and I am mad as anything. Wish I had looked at previous reviews on this…..I have learned my lesson and will not buy a triton shower again. Poor quality and poor product overall. It even seems to stop the water flow to its inability to heat it properly and believe me it is not that great.

I had to edit my comment here as I phoned Triton and they sent out an engineer and fixed the shower…..I had not realised that it had a 2 year warranty….it is working great now and I have no problem with it now……so I would add that they gave me a really good customer service and maybe I should have waited until I gave them a chance to sort it….4 stars as it did not work for that long but hey they made up for it with their fast customer service and I had an engineer out within a couple of days and it works very well now. Fixed on warranty

I bought this shower to replace an old 9.5 kw Martinique which lasted nearly nine years, so I was happy with that. I wanted a unit that would simply fit straight in and because my electrics was sufficient I could also upgrade the unit at the same time. Very happy so far with this purchase and if it lasts as long as the last one then brilliant.
As expected, a diect replacement and fitted very easily to the existing fixings
Delivery was on time packaging was good. Easy to fit with good instructions to help if needed. But the inlet pipe isn’t quite long enough about 2mm too short to make a seal on the push fit connection. I used a rubber washer and then was fine. The shower unit looks good and works well. Would recommend but be wary of the inlet connectio
we had a triton bezique which gave up after 12years. the triton Martinique is the perfect replacement. back plate, water inlet, power cable inlet is identical. easy to work. 2year warranty and if registered online then warranty is extended to 3years. overall does what it says.

Fantastic replacement for a previous Triton shower. All the fittings matched up so installation was quick and easy. The new shower works very well both as to water flow and temperature and price through Amazon was very competitive.

Excellent, was a replacement for an identical Triton shower that broke down after 3 years but this seems more powerful, the new shower head design Is a great improvement on the old one.
The price on Amazon was the cheapest I could find, fantastic service from Amazon as usual.

I WAS RIGHT TO BE SUSPICIOUS OF THIS SHOWER…IT’S JUST GIVEN UP THE GHOST AFTER TWO YEARS AND A FEW MONTHS…..THOSE FEW MONTHS MEANS IT’S OUT OF GUARANTEE!! TYPICAL. Does what it says on the box; a direct fit in place of my old Triton 10kW shower, with water connection and mounting holes an exact copy. On the plus side it also seems to perform slightly better in terms of hot water delivery. On the negative side is the chrome front panel that shows every water mark and thus has to be polished; a silly idea.

cover which screws go into to hold it on lucky my old one which it was replacing had them so swapped clips on to new one otherwise

This was just what we wanted to replace our old Triton Aquatronic 4 electric shower, It had the same foot print so no need for much messing about . It is just as good and we are so pleased to have found it. Rang Triton and it was 30 more ofthem so went for this one.

I needed a replacement for the old shower unit., which was about 12 years old. To my delight it fitted perfectly onto the water connection and the electric cable, so I had it installed in less than 20 minutes. We are delighted with it.

I bought this shower to replace my Triton T100i which I had for many years, as stated in the reviews that I read on this site it fitted exactly in the same place and covered the existing space left by my old shower.Therefore did not have to disturb my tiles but I did keep my existing extension rail that is fitted to the tiles because the new one was a slightly different size and fitting, just attached the new shower head and hose to my existing one. I am very happy with the shower it works great and looks smart as well.

I would recommend this item it does what it says on the packaging the only way to start the day.
Following a phone call to Triton re our previous Instant Shower, which had developed a fault after many years of service, they explained that this was a direct replacement. It fitted in perfectly without any installation alterations. Fantastic. Now to use. The supplied shower head is really great, giving several water pattern settings. Being Summer time, the incoming water from the Main is a few degrees warmer, making Instant Electric Showers much more efficient, and certainly having more pressure at all temperature settings. That said this new Shower is so much better, and I’m not a bit sorry the old one went cold on us!.
The real comparison test will have to wait ’til the Winter when our old Shower definitely lost it’s “umph” as the incoming water was so much colder and the Temperature setting had to be increased, thus slowing down the water flow.

Replaced an older version of the Martinique with this newer model and was not dissappointed.
All the connections were still in the exact same place as the original ….even down to the fixing holes.
Good 5-way variation on the shower head and very easy to understand instructions…..both operational and connection.
Cant go wrong for the money.

The good news was as I suspected, this is exactly the same size as the Jade, with the power connection and water inlet pipe being in the same place. So easy to replace the Jade with this Martinique. Looking in side the thing, the heater unit looks exactly the same as the Jades, with all the wiring and switches being replaced with one electronic board with relays (mounted on the PCB).
The relays aren’t sealed/covered. This does give the advantage that in the future, if the contacts become corroded (as I suspect they will, as they really SPARK when they’re activated) it’ll be easy to clean them. It just makes the whole thing more dangerous if water ever leaks from the heater unit!! When in use, it’s pretty much the same as the Jade. I expect this will die sooner than the Jade, as electronics (the PCB is completely open inside, no screening/cover etc.) don’t really mix with heat/moisture/steam etc.)
The only real thing that’s annoying about the Martinique is the chrome panel on it’s front. It looks good, until you use it 🙂 . Every single drop of water that touched it will leave a water mark on it’s surface. So if anyone has a 3D printer and scanner and wants to make a new one in white plastic, then let me know, because I’ll buy it.

This is an ideal replacement for the old Triton Opal,water and electrical connections were exactly the same even the screw holes were the same position except one but you cant have everything.
The rail and head is an updated version and will need alteration.
The shower overall is what you expect from Triton a good unit.

Had to check with Triton for suitable replacement, and they came up tops.
I have used a triton shower before this one fitted straight in where the original was which was brilliant being a Triton OPAL this lasted about 8 years with only one problem in all that time exellent product the same as the new one easy to fit but do follow the instructions or get a profesional to fit if you are not a good DIYER with the relevant skills as you could have problem.
Brilliant well worth the money, arrived quickly well packaged. Easy to install and use everything was good to replace the old one. Highly recommend!
I was replacing a Triton Opal shower and found that by using the Martinique it fitted exactly in the same place without any alterations to the plumbing or electric feed. It is a very efficient shower and a great price from Amazon. I would recommendi it.

great shower the shower head that came was white but we chose it because it was silver in the add tut tut amazon get you adds sorted did tell them but the same picture is still in the add so be warned is a white shower head. i called Triton and they sent me a silver one out free, what a result thank you Triton.
The unit measures 13″ tall by 8″ wide and stands about 3″ away from the wall. (4 ” if you include the temperature dial). The shower head is white and about 4″ diameter, it attaches to the unit with a silver coloured flexible pipe and is held on a `Riser rail’ which consists of a silver coloured metal pole with white hard plastic curved shaped ends that screw to the wall, A white soap tray is also included as well as fixing screws but a couple of raw plugs were missing that would have been useful. There are easily accessible screw holes to attach the shower unit to the wall.
(The manufacturer gives dimensions as:- Height -338mm; Width – 208mm; Depth-95mm).
The water inlet connection is 15mm diameter and the outlet connection is ” BSP male thread. Entry points for the water can be at the bottom or back of the unit. The shower must be connected to a mains water supply with a minimum running pressure of 100kPa (10 bar). The water supply can be taken from a cold water storage cistern provided there is a minimum head of ten meters above the shower head. It must be an independent supply to the shower only.
The nominal power rating at 240V 9.5kW – (40A MCB rating). Cable can be top or back of the unit. The splash proof rating is IPX4 and complies with the current British and European safety standards for household electrical appliances. The unit needs a pull cord isolating switch.
The shower works by pressing any of the three buttons (High; Cold; Economy) and the temperature can be turned up or down with the dial although the shower slows down when you select a higher temperature it is still a decent spray.
Full instructions are included which are easy to follow.
Only one fault is the amount of cardboard packaging used to transport the shower was a bit over the top, it came in a box within a box – two large boxes with brown paper padding, I’m sure that bubble wrap and one box would have protected the unit well enough.
The shower arrived very quickly, was fitted with ease by a professional plumber and it performs very well.
The shower head provided works well but doesn’t look very good – it has a cheap plastic appearance.
All Fittings Etc Are Exactly Same Replaced In 20Mins Recommended Shower!
