Beautiful, sleek and inconspicuous cameras. Slight set-up issue which was very quickly resolved by the exceptionally professional service team. The cameras were easy to install and showed a perfectly clear picture. I would highly recommended this product and company A+++

This system worked fine when I first purchased it and tested it upon arrival. However, due to personal circumstances I was unable to properly install the cameras until some time later. When I did, the system no longer recorded any footage and didn’t recognise that it has a hard drive.

I made contact with the company and they arranged a replacement, even though the product is out of warranty by over a year.
Sansco have been great and it would seem that the problem was a faulty adapter.
System works fine now, which is a relief because the cameras were hard work to install and didn’t fancy taking them down.

I purchased this system in November last year and decided to wait a few months before posting a review. Anyway, This feature-packed system is now set up on both our phones (Android and iPhone), iPad, laptop and PC. This in addition to the standard interface already built into the DVR. Whilst the night vision appears perfectly competent for capturing adequate detail for its intended purpose, we’ve also used the movement alarm feature to watch local foxes without the hassle of sitting, staring at hours of no action waiting for one to appear – obviously, the same applies to any that moves – a red trace on the recorded timeline indicating movement. Sure, there are higher resolution systems out there, but they are significantly more expensive. After 4 months, my 170 Sansco (it was 170 last November) has caught the local dogwalker who doesn’t (or didn’t) clear up after his dog and a youth who thought it would be clever to climb over the top of my neighbour’s car!!!! This in addition to our local fox family! A very recent minor issue with the DVR was rectified with a full, no quibble, replacement in two days flat. What’s not to like? Great 5-Star value and full of useful features.

Bought to replace an old system.
Vastly improved quality on any system I’ve seen.
Don’t be tempted to use your old cabling if this is a replacement as the new cabling is great quality.
Great picture quality day and night.
    Easy to set up.
The app is very good and fully functional and easy to use.
Very pleased with the system and will buy again when my other units fail.

I purchased this 4-camera system to improve my home security by covering the front, rear and sides of my property. I have never installed a CCTV system before and I was very pleased at how easy the whole process was. I purchased Sansco’s 4-camera CCTV system with dome cameras based on reviews I had read and I have not been disappointed with my purchase, which I think is great value for money, and it is a really sophisticated piece of kit with lots of features.

I intentionally avoided purchasing a wireless based system as I wanted a solution that would not be susceptible to signal reception issues. The 4 CCTV video/power cables provided with the kit were plenty long enough to cover a large 4-bedroom detached property with cameras covering all external sides of the property. I ran the cables up through the eaves and across the loft and into an upstairs cupboard where I have the DVR located.

The dome cameras do require a bit of patience to position them but you have an almost unlimited possibilities of angles to choose from. When doing high-ladder work, it does help if you have already setup the DVR recorder, connected it to the Internet, and installed the XMEye phone app on your phone (I was using the Android version on a Samsung S8 phone) as you can tinker with the camera position before tightening up the fixings.

I mounted each camera on a Diall Grey 57A Junction box 100mm which I purchased from B&Q. The beauty of doing this is that I could hide the short cable that comes out from the back of the camera, which has a BNC connector and round power connector at the end of that cable which needs to be connected to the long cable that you need to run back to the DVR. I drilled a hole through the cover of the Diall junction box, poked the camera cable through it, and then mounted the dome base to the cover. Doing it like this simplified the mounting process for the camera and should I need to replace a camera in the future, it makes it very simple to remove the camera.

Setting up the DVR was very simple. I do work in IT and as such, I did not need to read the manual to configure and install the system. The interface is pretty intuitive and I really like that you can download a desktop client software (CMS) to your computer and configure and manage the DVR from there if you don’t want to do it directly from the DVR. I didn’t know CMS was available so I fully configured the system directly on the DVR but I have subsequently tinkered with my settings using the CMS software.

A few of the best features of the DVR are:

    1. You can add up to 4 black rectangles (any size) per camera if you need to blackout or redact areas that you do not want to capture on camera (e.g. if you are camera is picking up your neighbours garden).

    2. NTP – you can configure a public network time server so that your recordings will always have an accurate time stamp which is really important if you do need to refer back to the cameras

    3. You can add a label and time stamp on each camera and you have the flexibility to position this to any location that you wish per camera, which is extremely flexible

    4. XMEye phone app is really good and gives me a lot of comfort that I can take a quick peek if we are out for the day or away for the weekend that all is well at home

    5. CMS application is also extremely useful as you can use that to playback footage, download video, and fully configure the system. This means that you don’t need a separate LCD monitor or worry about locating the DVR in a location where you can easily get to it. You do need to do the initial configuration on the DVR but once it is connected to your home network, you don’t really need to touch the DVR. Please note that the DVR doesn’t support wireless and does need to be connected via an ethernet cable. This wasn’t an issue for me.

    6. Night vision is pretty damn good – our road is pretty dark at night and yet you still get a pretty decent picture in black & white. It still is never going to be as good as the footage you get during the day time when the picture is in full colour but nonetheless, for the money and size of the camera, it is pretty impressive!

    7. I did need to reach out to Sansco support and found them to be excellent and responsive. Support was done via Facebook messenger via a link on their website and I got timely responses back.

Word of caution. The system does have motion detection but if you are placing the cameras externally, don’t have too higher expectation on the motion detection. Yes it works, but it will also provide a lot of false positives. You can alter the sensitivity but ultimately, this is using digital motion detection which is not the same as an IR detector like you get on a security garage light.

In summary, I can’t believe how good value for money this kit is considering you are getting a full home security kit. Hopefully, it will act as a good deterrent too and will mean I have a bit more peace of mind when my property is not occupied.

Excellent product for the price. Easy installation. Good quality pictures from the 4 HD camera’s and good quality night time pictures also due to the high number of infra reds. I noticed a problem with the DVR after a short while, I think it’s a noisy disk drive but the seller has been very kind and offered to exchange the DVR even though it’s past the returns window.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersLooked at the very many CCTV systems on the market lot of research went into choosing this set up. And I was not disappointed it’s simple to set up. Plug the wires in and you’ll see the camera. We adjusted the camera once all the wires were set up and that’s was it off we go. Peace of mind knowing were covered. Took us a few hours as we had some difficult positions we wanted the cameras in but that was our issue. I have one on the wall outside the door and I can see who’s at the door with a single button press to my TV in living room. No subscription charges like the ring doorbell. Great night vision quality and really good daytime vision too it’s just clear bright and crisp. No fuzz no blurr. High quality set up and easy to do yourself. The menu screen does look outdated and complicated but to be fair once you do start using it there’s not much to figure out it’s looks hard but actually isn’t to bad. Easy to set up perimeters too for the motion detection or you can choose to just record constant. I can hear it it’s slightly loud but I have it inside a cupboard which then makes its silent anyway.

This CCTV system has been very straightforward to install and use. Love that you can get an app yo your phone for live streaming. The picture quality is fantastic, I have a hair salon and everyone comment on how clear the picture is. I’m not very technical so took my a little bit to figure out the motion detector but was up and running thats great. Just remember to do the perimeter of you have windows in the cameras view, which I didn’t at first. Great value for money I would definitely recommend.

Apart from a small problem with the casing lugs that fix the casing to the base, this is easy to install, works great, has a fantastic picture during the day, a little darker at night but still very good.

Allin all this is a very good affordable cctv system that can be self installed and set up.

Their aftercare team seem really helpful and are currently helping me with some other settings which is great 🙂

The unit arrived on time and was well packaged, installation was easy although the difficult part is tracking the cables through the loft, but once done, connecting and setup was so easy that reference to the manual was barely needed.
The only difficulty I encountered was positioning the Dome Cameras as there is no apparent Up or Down and not as easy as the Bullet type, however overall image quality is excellent for the price and happy with this purchase.

Delivered quickly and set up pretty easily, As expected with wired systems there’s some drilling required if you want to lessen the amount of cables around your premises, but there’s adequate cable for a house. Easy to set up and extra instructions on disc, was watching it that evening, picture quality great in light or dark. Just got to get used to playback and tracking time of events as not intuitive (need to read instructions more), but on the whole a great product, would definitely recommend!

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersSummary:
I’ve not had it long, but it seems a really good product. It came well packaged and protected. The summary instructions are fine and I haven’t had to use the CD. The software menu isn’t intuitive, but it’s not too complicated to navigate. I clicked on most things and there are some things I have no idea what they do, so have just ignored them. Picture quality is very good both during daylight and at night. Cameras are robust and have a pretty good angle of view. Installation isn’t difficult, but you might need to buy a big drill bit if you are planning on drilling through walls, to accommodate the plugs on the cables. The app is OK but could be a bit slicker. Settings of the alerts/alarms from the cameras takes a bit of trial and error to get right. Support from the supplier has been great.

    Overall:

Product arrived on time and neatly packaged. All the cameras are individually boxed with all screws etc. Cables are neatly wound and secured. Following the advice of another reviewer I plugged the cables and connected the DVR in my living room to check they worked. This gives you an idea of how to navigate the menu, before you finally position the cameras. I recommend you do this. And load & configure the app.

The DVR comes with a mini-mouse, but I found this inconvenient to use when I was testing, so plugged my own wireless mouse in which works fine and means you don’t have to have the DVR on your lap whilst testing.

The menu is fairly easy to use, but it’s not completely intuitive. I haven’t had to use the CD that came with the product and have clicked around and managed to get it working and set up, so it can’t be too difficult.

I found one of the cameras was a bit grainy when testing, but the picture quality is great on the others – both during the day and a night using IR. (I’ll come back to the grainy camera).

I left a couple of cameras connected with cables & cameras draped out of windows for a day or so. Mostly so I could see how the cameras worked, see what the angle of view is like and have a play with the settings of the alarms/notifications etc. This gave some ideas as where to place them around the house.

    Installation:
I’m fairly competent at DIY and found the installation easy. But you do need to consider how & where you are going to place the cameras as all the cables must connect back to the DVR, which has to be near power and a TV with an HDMI/VGA connection. I didn’t want cables draped or pinned across my house, so after a bit of thinking moved the DVR from the lounge to my study TV and decided that all cables would come though the garage into the study and connect to the DVR.

Here is where you need a large drill bit! Each camera has a video connector that is about 1cm diameter; there is also a power connector and a plastic block on the cable. All this must go through a hole in your wall to connect back to the DVR. And if, like me, you have 4 cameras, then that hole must be large enough to take all the above, 4 times over. I ended up buying 25mm drill bit. You could obviously drill 4 smaller holes (1 for each cable), but I didn’t want to do that. When you are drilling the hole for an individual camera, you can get away with a smaller drill bit as there is only 1 cable, connector, power & black block thingy! But it still needs to be big enough to pass all that through. Once all the cables are through the hole, then the actual cable doesn’t take up much space, but feeding the connectors through is the tricky piece.

Having drilled a few holes, you can position the cameras where you want. I pulled the cables through from the DVR and put the camera where I thought would be best. But I chose not to screw them to the wall at this point. Instead, I ‘duck taped’ them in place. This was just as well, because once you have seen the images you get, then you might choose to move them. This occurred with a camera I had at the front of the house. My initial position it covered all I wanted it to, but car movement on the main road and their headlights at night caused some problems (too many alarms). So, I moved the camera to another spot (again taping it temporarily), with the same coverage, but managing to block the road and it’s much better. You can change the alarm settings and the sensitivity, but I still got too many. A bit of thinking before you screw them to the wall is advisable.

I also configured the app on my ‘phone and found that really useful to have next to you as you position the cameras, as you can’t judge the orientation of the image by looking at the camera. Being able to see the view you’ll get whilst you are up the ladder was imperative.

    Support:
I couldn’t find out how to set up e-mail, so contacted the supplier and they quickly came back with instructions and a link to a YouTube video which was really helpful. I couldn’t get it working with a Microsoft address, despite having all the parameters correct, so switched to a G-mail account and it works fine.

I mentioned earlier that I had a grainy camera on initial testing. When it came to put the cameras in place, I found that I couldn’t get an image at all on it. A bit of swapping about of cameras, cables and ports on the DVR, I isolated it to be the cable at fault. I contacted the supplier asking what I should do and they were great and said they’d send me a replacement cable. It arrived within 2 days of my query which was fantastic service.

I can’t fault their service based on the interactions I’ve had.

All in all, really pleased I bought the system. Gives great peace of mind at a reasonable cost.

What a great little system this is! I was originally thinking about going with a more expensive well known brand but stumbled across this Sansco system, I’d never heard of them before so was a bit cautious about clicking that buy button but after reading the good reviews I thought what the hell for more than half the price of what I was going to pay it was worth a blast, so glad I did, yeah the software does take a little getting use to but spend a bit of time clicking through it all and you’ll have it sussed in no time! The picture is fantastic, you will need to adjust the output resolution to the monitor via the menu cause as standard, with mine anyway, it’s not set to HD! Quick reboot and your set! The motion detect record feature works like a charm too and easy enough to set up, I did have a little issue with two cables, dodgy batch maybe I don’t know but Sansco were quick to sort a replacement no questions, so great system and great customer service what more do you want for that price! Buy it!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is a very good system.
I looked at IP cameras previously as I was reluctant to run cables through the house but once I realised that an IP camera needs a power supply this system made a lot of sense.
The basic installation is straightforward. I highly recommend laying everything out and connecting up before fully installing to understand the components and options.
The options in the DVR are surprisingly comprehensive and I’ve yet to explore them all. However when the machine is powered up a guided menu takes you through the basics.
Network connection setting seemed straight forward and no manual configuration was required which was a relief.
The image quality from the cameras is very good with a wide field of view. Night vision is sufficient to illuminate the areas I am interested in.
The build quality of the cameras seems good, I’ve installed mine under the eaves but they look well sealed and weatherproof.
The app works well on my iPad for viewing away from home. It is possible to view recorded streams as well as the live feed (click on the date at the top right of the screen to select previous days’ recordings).
To view on a computer you have to load an Android phone emulator and then run the Android app within the program.
I had a couple of technical questions about the set-up which were quickly answered so full marks for customer support also.

wanted to use from indoors – pointed out windows (did not want to be drilling holes thru window frames etc) and as such it very good during daylight hours, great pictures. but its no good thru glass at night. (unless i`m missing something in menu screen??)
i understand its probably meant to be fixed outside for night vision to work but still a little disappointed it can`t be used inside.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI used to use Yale Smart home which is approx 2.5 times the price. I purchased this for my new home!
    Pros:
    – Quick and easy to set up.. very easy and had it all running in two hours.
    – remarkable price for what you get in the box
    – app is easy to set up and is very reliable
    – night vision is very good

    Cons:
    – The thread on the camera’s between the camera and housing is very poor. Screeching metal and needs a lot of alignment but once done it’s secure!
    – in the app you have to manual change from SD to HD every time you open the app, on each camera
    – not a very wide view

I would definitely recommend this product for its price!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOne of the cameras was faulty on delivery – the night mode would not engage. Contacted customer support via their email address in the manual and they agreed to send out a replacement without any hassle.

Haven’t sat down and got into the fine details of setting up the system with email alerts etc, so cannot comment on how easy that will be to complete, but basic installation is simple enough if you are able to use a drill/screwdriver to mount camera on the wall/ceiling. Aligning the cameras is best done with a helper, someone to watch the picture from the monitor and shout instructions of which way to point them, otherwise you’ll have a lot of walking back and forth making fine adjustments. Picture quality is superb for the price and night mode is surprisingly good too.

I’ve had the mobile app running once or twice, seems decent enough. Ability to save stills or video whilst live streaming. Doesn’t always connect when I want it to, but that could be down to mobile data coverage.

So far seems great value for money. Customer service cannot be faulted.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI installed the system on a few hours, it is easy to set-up and easy to use. There are some YouTube videos if you need help. The cameras are very good quality and provide a very clear high definition color image in daylight. They revert to B&W in poor light conditions with the infra red LED’s illuminating the area well.

I am using these as much as a deterrent as anything, they look the part insofar as there is a feint red glow in the dark from the built in LED lights.

I have not connected the IP function yet.

I had a slight problem with one of the cameras, the image was slightly blurred, I contacted the seller who was more than happy to replace the camera, on further examination I saw that a stray leaf had got stuck over half of the lens.

Normally when I buy this type of thing I immediately throw away the fixing screws and wall plugs, but even there are great.

    TIP

When you install the cables, ensure that you get the ends the right way round, one end is for the camera, the other to the recorder……

Easy set up,pic quality cant fault, try to avoid cams opposite each other if close also put them by the side of your security lights. Ive found myself checking out the garden n back lane on phone when out n about. Its quite addictive ive got one eye streaming a movie n the other watching cams, night vision is cool too. Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersVery pleased with the quality of this product for its price. Easy to install and set up but would say a little tecno knowledge does help. Those that have seen the results of the pictures and quality were impressed, and have expressed their liking for this product in view of a purchase. I preferred the dome design to fit onto the soffit as they are plastic and easy to drill and screw fix. ( no wires showing ). They are easy to spot but for those unware they would go unnoticed so a obligatory sign to inform those that enter the property in daylight, would know of their presence. Highly recommend for the keen do it yourselfer.

Worked fine, lots of features even the Yale iPhone app works with it.
used it for a year before moved house and left this installed. Would have bought it again for the new house but its too tall and don’t fancy going up the ladders for 3 floors.
The zoomed in cameras are not as useful as the wider angle ones.

Decent set, arrived well packaged. Set up and installation was fairly easy. Others have mentioned that the coax connectors coming pre fitted on the cables mean you have to drill a larger hole than just for feeding the cables through. That said, the camera sits over the hole so not seen.have asked for guidance on how to set up motion and email/phone alert. Nothing heard back.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat value for money. Camera feed & playback is very good (night and day). Length of cable is superb. Easy to set up. 2 issues to think about. Cameras are not tamper proof. Installation, needed a builder, as the cables have the connectors that do not disconnect and they need to connect to the connector from the camera. So instead of drilling a tiny little hole to feed through the cable, a hole of at least 8mm needed and then trying to hide the connectors was a whole new game, as they do not fit in the back of the camera. A smaller connector, straight into the back of the camera, would be easier and tidier! If you are Bob the Builder, this is a cracking CCTV for money.

Golden Review Award: 62 From Our UsersI purchased this set-up to replace my 18 month old Sannce camera system. The pictures will give you an idea of the Sannce quality compared to the Kare quality The picture definition is somewhat better; But certainly not super HD as advertised. I do however like the much wider aspect view. You can certainly see the improvement after fitting the Kare camera in the same place as the Sannce camera in the first two images. The third picture shows general quality which for the cost is very acceptable.
One word of advice is to make sure your monitor is capable of a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. I adjusted the DVR output and it locked me out because my old monitor wasn’t capable of processing the higher resolution input. Sun who works at company who supplied the camera and DVR was very helpful and patient with me. Many thanks. What I did was rig up my main PC monitor which was of the full 1920×1080 which allowed me to lower the output back to default setting.
I have since then purchased and received a 22″ ‘A’ quality Asus previously used monitor for 43 all in. Perfect for the job! Im now awaiting a HDMI connector cable which I hope will further improve picture quality.

Im going to use my old DVR to set up as a birdhouse monitor. The old dome cameras are quite small once the casing is removed. The problem is to find a way of breaking the glue seal on the lens focusing adjustment ring. This year out of 8 blue tit chicks only one was left. My existing birdhouse camera doesnt have a record facility so I dont know what happened to them.
Update: having learned more about CCTV set-ups, there are things that you should bear in mind before ordering. Firstly, you get what you pay for. The playback quality is not that good on this set. If you want crisp playback make sure the cameras are 1080p NOT 1080n or 960p!
Also check that the PVR records and plays back in 1080p quality. 15fpm is OK. Finally, you will need a 1960×1080 monitor. Anything lower will lock the playback screen. You will then need a 1960X1080 monitor to unlock the system. I’m ditching this 960p kit and buying a better one for just over a 120 more. Oh, and you will also benefit from 2tb storage if you do upgrade. The higher the playback quality, the more storage space it gobbles up.

Terrible instruction manual, NOT super HD! Change of name from Kare?

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far so good. Picture quality is excellent both day and night and product was fairly easy to set up. The biggest issue was getting the cable through the wall, you need a 16mm drill bit to fit the connectors through, but no major issue if you know what you are doing. Overall I would say a great purchase, but will update if things change.

Excellent value but completely useless install instructions. Common sense to connect it up and it comes complete with cables and works well once connected, but unless you know what you are doing you will struggle as I did. You need a TP wireless link to your router or hard wire DVR to your router and getting it to register is a nightmare, had to call in an expert in the end, but once it’s working, it’s brilliant. Tried it while abroad the day afte rset up and it really works well, just needs instructions to set it up, YouTube helps a little but you may lose the will to live trying to set it up!!

I found out about this CCTV camera kit through my son who had purchased the two camera kit. I had thought about buying a CCTV system before but hadn’t because some of the systems available on the market the quality of the video was poor. When I saw the quality of the video and the play back facilities to this system I was well impressed. Also you can view the playback over the internet. The system could not be any easier to set up, basically plug and play. Its good when your playing back the video especially when you’ve been at work all day or away on holiday, it also gives you a peace of mind. I must admit I had a slight glitch after about three months, I had a blurry picture on one of the camera’s so I got in touch with Digital Trends where I purchased the Kit from. I spoke to Jessie who dealt with my problem all the way through (rather than being passed from pillar to post like you do with some companies). She got me to go through some logical steps so we could pin point the problem rather than guessing at the problem. I could not of asked for any better service, first class. The problem in the end was a faulty which was sent straight out.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have had this system for several months and it works perfectly. Great pictures in full colour in the day and good b&w at night, even in our dark back garden. I recently needed to download some footage but could not work out how to do that. Emailed the seller and they came back to me immediately with simple easy to follow instructions.
Some advice for others: You should use the top USB port on the back of the DVR for the mouse. The front USB port is for updating the firmware. If you plug the mouse in the front of the DVR it stops working as soon as you try to back up.
The bottom USB port on the back of the DVR is for a USB drive when backing up and transferring footage from the hard drive. (You need to format the USB drive before using it).
This was all explained to me by the seller and I thought I would pass it on.

Order this as a small home cctv system and it does the job with ease.
The recorder is nice and small, about the size of a basic did player, and is simple to use. It’s almost plug and play simplicity.
The cameras are solid and unobtrusive. It can be a little fiddly to attach the housing with the camera a flying lead in place but its achievable.
Plug it all in, turn it on and it just works.
Picture quality is good, and once you get sorted you can view and play back recorded images either through another device on the wifi network or via the cloud so you can remote access the images. Note: the cloud access is a bit clunky and has to be set up through a PC not through the app.

I received the cctv kit the day after ordering as expected (Amazon Prime). The kit was well packed and complete with all parts needed. Installation and setup was easy and took less than a day to do. The hardest job was running the cables from the cameras back to the dvd unit. Linking the output back to my I phone and I pad was also easy using the supplied QR code. I used this feature to position the camera views while up the ladders making set up very easy. The service via email from Direct Digi Sales was excellent and they even offered to replace a cable that I damaged during installation. Overall, a good well priced system for anyone wanting to add security cameras to their property.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersNice bit of equipment, I had it all working within half an hour, sat it on my kitchen table linked up to a spare flat screen pc monitor.
The hardest part was running out all of the cables from the front of the house to the back and on a tall ladder to reach under the soffit to mount the cameras. picture quality is quite good and colours true and at night it switches to black and white using the infrared lights which caught me out down the end of the garden going for a smoke in the shed,I forgot to turn the monitor off and the wife see me.
I have it set to record on movement which is very sensitive as birds and large insects set it going but the large hard drive set to over right when full usually about three weeks to a month at a time. I can easily see who’s been delivering post from my iPhone app that you download and you can even take snapshots or video from the phone. As the connections from the cameras are quite short and not waterproof I cut off about six inches of bicycle inner tube and slid that over the connections and cable tied the ends. Just a picture of the monitor on a wet overcast day the sheds about sixty foot from the house and the camera is under the soffit of the house and approximately twenty foot up. So far all is working great.

    Nice setup for the price.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersI was dubious about purchasing and the quality but this set has exceeded my novice expectations!

The kit arrived super quick and was super compact yet very well packed, and contained everything detailed in the photos and description to make it work.

I bought the 4 camera + DVR + 1TB hard drive (which is already installed internally inside the DVR)

There was nothing complicated about installing this cctv set, instructions were simple, pieces and ends of wires marked clearly where to connect them to, and connecting to my TV was a simple as plugging in a spare HDMI I had laying around.

The most complicated bit of installing this was deciding how to get the cables through my 16.5 inch thick cavity walls or through PVC Windows…

The lead from the camera to the black, join to the blue & red connector points measures about 16″ (I’ve added photos)

As the ends of the cables are NOT removable, so I used an old Cable TV hole in the wall, removed all the boxing internally & externally and re-drilled it to expand it to fit it through1″ (yes I’m a woman can you believe it!?)
Then using masking tape, taped each blue wire end + its red power end behind it, followed by the other 2 sets of wire points each subsequently behind the black join (so blue red black blue red black etc)
Then i taped the first blue point to the end of a Roman blind turn stick and poked it through the hole in the wall to draw the cables through WITHOUT loosing them or risking getting them stuck in the cavity on the journey through!

This was the longest part of the installation for me, as I’m a ground floor flat with lots of steel in super thick walls (something a Diy detector could not pick up as they don’t scan deeper than 2.5cm at best) I did this all with a cheapo Argos hammer drill! Which somehow survived.

I can’t tell you how glad I was I chose NOT to drill through my PVC Windows as the guy in the hardware shop advised!!

Installing the cameras onto the exterior was was a doddle, made a template of where the holes needed to be with a pen and paper and used this to premark, then set to drilling the holes and then affixing the cameras up, it’s recommended to run the cables into a junction box (which you can buy for a few quid) and trunk the wires around the building also!

Note. Camera rotates in its casing to allow for hidden fixings -manual screwing in with flat side of camera facing in as my screwdriver seemed to be too chunky to fit down the gap when the other way (which is a plus I guess in preventing the cameras from being stolen quickly!)

I used some pre existing external trunking to hide the wires which made it look like it was actually just my internet wires running in through the wall. #win

I also used insulating tape to tape over the camera joins (blue & red connectors) which aren’t weatherproof!

The DVR – TV set up was plug in via hdmi and go, the set up wizard popped up on my tv and using the supplied mouse I clickety clicked through in no time (not using DST settings) I did have my router re-routed in my property to move it closer to the DVR so I could plug in the Ethernet cable to the DVR to make use of the iPhone app, which was part of the install set up, a simple QR code scan, download app register to set up account and there it all was done and dusted! I can now view my flat from the underground and anywhere I can get wifi!
(Don’t forget to change the passwords to prevent anyone from accessing your cameras via the Internet!)

I did get an email from the company the next day offering support if needed which was great!

The camera quality is fantastic, in daylight I can see 20-30m depending on how I angle my cameras, and can read a car registration to about 20m if I use my tv and open the single camera up to view on my 42″ tv.

Night view is equally as great (photo added from cropped screen shot via mob app) thanks to the IR lights in the camera, and picks up a parked car reg at the same 20m distance, but looses the street view beyond that (probably owing to poor street lighting also) ive since identified the 4 cats terrorising my window ledges at night and deterred persons from passing close by my property (which is exposed & unsecure)

Not sure how images from cctv from this will hold up in court if needed but I should imagine it’s good enough to identify some up to 15m pretty clearly.

The quality on phone and tv does differ for obvious reasons, but not something which bothered me as the DVR record/tv viewing quality is what matters most in crime prevention!
Useful to have remote access through the app on smartphone too, ive used to to record and extract footage for purposes of crime and it’s been used in court!

So all in all a fab bit of cost effective kit for someone who like me is a DIY novice but isn’t afraid to give it a go!

    *******************************************************
    Update:
Nearly 2 years to the day of purchase one of the cameras has gone black and died, other three are still working. Annoying that it happens to be the one I needed the most but easily replaced.
5yrs on the CCTV unit is still going strong!

Move over big brother I've joined the CCTV club!

Brilliant product and would recommend to everyone.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersI had two attempted break-ins one attempt they attempted to use a crowbar to break open the double glazed windows they partially succeeded! I’ve worked very hard for what I have got!

I put the 4 cameras in the inside of my Windows sitting in among the plants front room window bedroom window and kitchen window. I set the recording for 24 hours recording.. I click a button and get a total round the property view. Nightvision is very good and motion detection works perfectly.

One strange problem even though I have not set up the Internet it seems to be sending package data to the Internet. I have changed the admin password and I will sort out the Internet when I get the time. I got one day delivery and set it up immediately as you can imagine.
