This is extremely easy to handle. veeeery light and easy on the wrists. no pressure on my lower back. Quite efficient for battery run tools and didnt give me a headache with the noise levels. I quite like how there are 2 handles. I dont actually use the little wheel. in fact i use this to mow our garden which is not big enough for a mower. it works fine.
Exactly what I expected.
Upgraded from the ART26 trimmer which uses replaceable blades. This unit works exactly as I expected with great ergonomic control, power to cut through grass and edging. I found the wheel attachment cumbersome and obstructed my view when trying to do edging so I removed it completely.
Works with my existing batteries and charger from the POWER4ALL 18V range. Highly recommended.

Perfect for our medium garden. Can do around 4 cuts before it needs a recharge. Even took it to the in-laws as theirs had broke. Covered their large garden no problem and still didn’t need charging.
I love this Grass Trimme
My neighbour told me about this product so I bought one and I love, love love it. I have arthritic hands, but this is lightweight and easy to use. No messing, just pick it up and go. I have big uneven grassy/weedy banks in the garden and this deals with it all easily. I bought an extra battery, which I would recommend you do, so when the battery goes after 30 minutes you can put it on charge and use the second. Batteries are quick to charge. This is an excellent product. I highly recommend it. My husband thinks it is small for him, but for a lightweight like me it is perfect.

Another Bosch success
I highly recommend all Bosch products especially the all 4 one range, great idea to be able to use one battery for all products, it’s light enough not to need a harness, you can use the 1.5 batteries but only last about 20 mins from full charge, recommend the 2.0 or 2.5 amp, strong, sturdy, and just works great!!

Gutes Kombigerä
Super Kombigert wenn man bereits ein Bosch-Akkugert besitzt (z.B. Bohrmaschine). Dann stimmt auch das Preisleistungsverhltnis. Sowohl fr kurze als auch lange Einstze geeignet, hngt von den eingesetzten Akkus ab. Mit einem 1,5 Ah Akku ist das Gert ca. 1 Stunde einsatzbereit. Ab dann empfehlen sich Akkus mit mehr Kapazitt oder ein Wechselakku.

Brilliant Bosch
A really well designed tool, very easy to use and control and the battery life is excellent – a great buy.
I run out before the battery.
Light easy to use. Powerful enough for normal garden usage. It will tackle longer grass but no to brush cutting. Edger works well and three angles of cut very useful. Battery lasts a long time. Recharges fairly quickly with an 80% charge indication.
So not cheap but it is a good product.

Does the job well
This is heavier than expected but that is balanced by it being easy to hold. It appears to be strongly made and robust and deals with thich long grass. The instructions could be improved. The battery is small and charges quickly.

Klar das kein Profigert ist! Aber fr den Preis ist der Trimmer absolut ok. Das Schneidwerk knnte etwas stabiler sein. Aber zum auenrum mhen und die Kanten putzen ist der Trimmer ok.

Sehr leicht und gut bedienbar. Laufleistung ist entsprechend der Akkuleistung wie beschrieben. Das Bosch Akkusystem ist TOP. Durch die verschiedenen Gerte knnen die Akkus besser ausgelastet werden. Habe 3 verschiedene Gerte. Werde das System sicher um eine Heckenschere erweitern.

Ich hatte mir extra diesen Rasentrimmer aus der Bosch-Familie gekauft, da ich bereits 2 Akkus fr verschiedene Gerte habe.
Das Gert habe ich nun vor jedem Rasenmhen im Einsatz und bin sowohl vom Ergebnis und der Handhabung begeistert. Endlich mal kein lstiges Nachstellen des Faden und da der Trimmer super am Unterarm liegt, ist das Arbeiten echt entspannt.

So this is for the most part an incredibly well designed strimmer but there are a few flaws that bosch really need to sort out.
First is that the collar that goes around the spool is made from too soft a plastic, what happens is the line cuts into the collar cutting a channel and getting stuck meaning it no longer auto feeds and you have to keep stopping to pull the line manually. Every single spool I’ve put in does the same thing.
Second, and this is what broke on mine, the foot lever to adjust the angle and make it turn into an edger seized. It’s about to be collected for a warranty repair….. Hopefully! Having a foot operated anything is just asking for too much load to go through the mechanism, a simple hand operated pull and twist would be much more robust. Also having the mechanism down low is just asking for it to get gummed with detritus.
Third is the edging wheel snaps off, thankfully you can order this as a spare part and it simply clicks in, but any kind of lateral force will snap it off. Other manufacturers have a far more robust connection to the chassis of the strimmer, just look at the black and orange strimmer for a good example.
The handles are genius, the two handed hold is so much more comfortable, the motor is low on vibration and the strimmer cuts well, but the weak points ruin what otherwise would be the best home strimmer going. Come on bosch, sort this out, I’ll even help you test a new version!
Update 13th May 21, to The credit of Bosch the warranty return was slick and in a matter of days they told me that they would replace the whole machine, the new one arriving two days later.
So first up, Bosch have changed the collar design so that both faces of the opening are now covered in stainless steel, which will undoubtedly solve the line cutting problem.
The foot operated lever feels much more positive in action and more robust. I can’t prove it but suspect they’ve made changes here too.
The stick on edging wheel is still bobbins and liable to break but at least that’s cheap to replace.
The ergonomics of this strimmer are great, it also cuts well, battery life with our 4ah batteries are also good.
My new machine is a has a 2021 manufacturer date if it helps.
good enough for most strimming
Battery life is fine. I managed to do front and back edge strims 3 times before recharge. I already have a spare battery as I have other Bosch 18v tools. The machine lacks the power of plug in rivals but to be fair it was good enough for lawn edging and a few border weeds which is as much as I need. It folds down quite small and is very light and mostly easy to use. there’s a pedal to change the head angle to do edging but I still need to end up getting my hands involved. Also the the ajustable main tube does not lock in the fully retracted position which is a bit of a nuisance. It does what I want it to though and a lot easier than extension leads and tripping over cables all the time.

le fil est particulier, je pense quil sera obligatoire de repasser par la marque bosh.

Ich habe schon zahlreiche Gerte der Bosch 18 volt Serie. Der Rasentrimmer ist fr den Preis absolut zu empfehlen. Dicke Stngel wie ltere Brennnesseln schafft er zwar nicht. Gras aber ohne Probleme. Mit meinem 2 Ah Akku geht das Ganze 20 Minuten lang. Wie lange der Faden hlt bleibt abzuwarten. Der Rasentrimmer an sich ist sehr leich

Love my new strimmer. Not noisy and lightweight too. Shares a battery with the hedge trimmer I bought so depending on which one I’m using, I can have two batteries ready to go, however battery lasts for ages. I use it in a side to side scything motion, cutting the tops of really long grass off first, then working down. It’s cut through baby broom and tree seedlings no bother on a really overgrown patch at the back of my garden.

I have the lawn mower for the small top lawn and awkward bits of the garden around trees and that’s fab. So I thought I’d give this a go as my husbands strimmer is way too heavy for me. Better than first impressions sugges
Upon opening the boxed strimmer I was a little under whelmed, however I put the battery on and ventured out into the garden. It looks flimsy and light weight but this is actually not the case as it is so easy to use. I used it to strim round the chicken coop and the raised bed planters and path edgings. The battery lasted 20 minutes and it saved so much time messing about with the petrol strimmer. I will still need the petrol strimmer for bigger weeds but this is a great addition to my kit.
A Very Good Purchase
I was very dubious about having a cordless machine but this has proved to be an excellent buy. Fully charged it takes care of our two small gardens front and back with loads of running time left over. The auto feed works well but if the feed does need manual intervention it is easily taken care of. I don’t do any edging so can’t comment on that. My one reservation about all cordless devices is how the battery will survive the winter when there is little work for it. All batteries last longer when they are worked regularly. Time will tell.

Klasse Gert, hlt was es verspricht und macht das Schneiden von Kanten und Flchen zu einer Kleinigkeit. Leiser als Benzingerte, leichter zu fhren als kabelgebundene Gerte. Was zur Perfektion fehlt, ist ein lngerer Teleskop-Stiel. Sonst insgesamt TOP und Kaufempfehlung.

Great for general grass strimming
Great little strimmer, very happy with it. I was getting a bit fed up getting out an extension lead, unwrapping power cords. moving them all from the front to the back garden and then putting them all away (seemed to take longer doing that than the actual strimming). So started to look at cordless battery models. Picked this on as I tried holding it in a local (large) DIY chain and found it easy to hold and light (you may want to do the same before buying), and also I have other Bosch 18V tools. As some have said this uses the newer battery (my other tools used the older 18V type) – only difference is the charger, but both battery types work in all tools. I did toy with the idea of a bare (no battery model) but got this 2.5Ah one at a reduced cost so thought it a bargain for an extra battery. It feels a bit ‘weak’ compared to the corded strimmer I have (a ‘heavy duty’ model) but is actually fine for grass/weeds, cutting through it very easily. I’ve got about 55m of edges to strim (I take my time and go over a few bits to get them neat), after first strim the battery (using my drill, as this tool doesn’t have a battery level indicator) still showed 3 out of 3 bars, falling to 2 out of 3 bars on second use.
Good value machine for a smaller garde
At first thought it to be somewhat flimsy but not the case. The attached wheel keeps falling off so I took it off permanently. It works extremely well on short grass but cannot cope wit long or very thick grass etc.
I would recommend the product without reserve for the correct strimming conditions. battery lasts OK although i have another with a Bosch hedge trimmer (which is just as good).

Sehr gut fr Gras trimmen, aufpassen wenn Einfahrt von Unkraut befreien, aufsetzen des Deckels fhrt dazu dass dieser nach kurzer Zeit wegfliegt! Gebe zu das nicht der vorgesehene Zweck ist!
Best buy - but look out for the charger!!
I don’t often write reviews for products I’ve purchased, but my pleasure with this strimmer from Bosch was, I felt, was worth a few words! We have a fairly large ‘garden’ to maintain (approx. 60m length) part of which is a reclaimed field! So it varies from semi-tame areas to patches of ‘studious neglect’! We already have a petrol strimmer for some of the wilder areas but it’s such a faff to mix the fuel and it is quite heavy. So I was looking for something a little more ‘agile’! I decided on Bosch as I already have a couple of other cordless products that require the 18v battery. Having said that, given the nature of the ‘challenge’, I did look at the the Advanced 36 model but decided against on cost. I read many other reviews and from those immediately discounted the type that uses plastic cutting blades! Finally, I chose the Universal Grass Cut 18 but I was a little apprehensive that it would cope.
I needn’t have worried. When it arrived, it was a doddle to set up: one screw for the guard and then attach the guide-wheel and you’re ready to go! It was effortless coping easily with edging, nettles and some light bramble – on one charge! But above all it was so lightweight and really doesn’t need a harness (a criticism I read elsewhere). If you’re looking for a pick-up-and-go strimmer I would highly recommend this!
One small piece of advice however…the other Bosch cordless products mentioned above came with what must be an older design of charger. Although the batteries for these are interchangeable with the strimmer, I ordered a new spare 18v battery only to find that it requires what must be a new charger! So I’ve had to return the additional battery and I’ll rely on the batteries from my drill and sander!

Very easy to use – lightweight – cutting cable not the strongest – always a complaint with strimmers – does the job well and batteries last well. ( bought an extra battery )
I’m now aware that there are the “advanced” models available and those offer improvement in cutting back larger areas of overgrown grass. However, this cordless device offers convenient access to strimming a medium sized lawn and garden. The line auto feeds and hasn’t snapped yet. Not having an electric cable is a massive help and the battery life is good. Charging is quick too.

J’avais besoin d’une petite dbroussailleuse autonome pour tailler ce que je n’arrive pas faire avec ma tondeuse gazon en bordure de terrain. Je n’ai pas choisi la dbroussailleuse qui utilise une batterie de 30V et j’ai choisi ce taille herbe pour pouvoir utiliser la batterie 18V que j’utilise sur d’autres appareils. Dans la mesure ou je n’essais pas de couper de hautes herbes ou des chardons trop importants, cet appareil fait le job et lger, il permet aussi de nettoyer le jardin dans tous ses recoins.
Bought to use at my allotment, and it didn’t disappoint on the first outing – managed to strim away fairly thick weeds like cowslips with 6-8mm diameter stems and long grass, 2-3ft/1m high. Thicker/woody weeds it couldn’t do, but wasn’t expecting it to. Battery was great to do the whole thing, probably spent 20-30 minutes at least with it on virtually the whole time.
Auto feed on it works very well and I didn’t have to stop at all in use to pull out extra cord. Great that it folds down and makes it easy to carry, that was an unexpected bonus which makes it great for my walk to the allotment, lightweight too. Bought a battery strimmer as I really didn’t want a petrol one. Borrowed heavier petrol ones, and for what this does, it is an ideal substitute – this will easily cope with the medium size garden I have and the edging.

J’ai achet ce coupe bordure pour faire les bords de m’ont terrain lors de la tonte, c’est parfait j’utilise la batterie de mon aspirateur Bosch en 3Ah et elle tiens largement la dure plus de 20 minutes. Du coup sans batterie il est trs conomique et il cote mme moins cher de l’acheter sans batterie et de commander la batterie et le chargeur sparment.

Trotz des futuristisch anmutenden Desgin ist der Trimmer sehr gut zu bedienen. Erliegt gut in der Hand und jede Stelle/Flche ist damit zugnglich. Die Akkuleistung ist hervorragend und hlt locker 20 min durch.
Einziger Schwachpunkt ist der Mhschutz aus billigsten, hauchdnnen Hartplastik – das wir wohl nicht lange halten.
Das ist eine echte Bewertung, ich habe mir den Rasentrimmer tatschlich zum Marktpreis selbst gekauft!

I was sent a return that had no instructions and incomplete parts – nothing to do with Bosch and because it was useable I just accepted but never again will use these sellers. I hate these ‘ try ons’ by online sellers and becoming more prevalent!
Outil trs bien conu, trs maniable, lger ergonomique, encombrement minimum pour un rangement ais, avantage dcisif de la gamme de batterie unique 18 V, prcision de coupe tonnante, systme de bobine ultra simple et efficace installer et utiliser. Que du positif. Seul bmol s’il en est: l’appareil ne convient pas pour des gros travaux, sur des grosses tiges.
Ne peux pas encore me prononcer sur la longvit. Mails trs satisfait de cet achat.
Ich bin wirklich froh, dass Bosch endlich wieder einen Trimmer mit Faden hat. Ich hatte vorher einen gnstigen von der Konkurrenz, dessen Akku unter nach der Hlfte des Gartens (ca. 200 m Rasenmhkante) schlapp machte. Der bosch wrde gefhlt mich mal 200 m machen (habe ich nicht ausprobiert). Und selbst wenn nicht, neuen Akku rein (es passen alle der grnen 18 V Serie) und weiter geht’s…
Auch fr den Rcken ist er besser, weil durch den Griff ergonomischer.
It’s a great product and if you already have some Bosch equipment with batteries it’s perfect to reuse them, however the battery does not last for too long so it’s great for small gardens (or get more batteries). Besides that, it does the job, the well fell apart after a couple of weeks of moderate work, however I’m not really missing it.
Habe mich fr dieses Produkt aus zwei Grnden entschieden:
1) Habe bereits eine Bosch Heckenschere und eine Bosch Akku-Bohrmaschine, beide super
2) Habe bereits 3 Akkus – und diese passen auf den Rasentrimmer.
Nach meiner Erfahrung bisher hlt ein Akku einen kontinuierlichen Betrieb von ca. 10-15 min durch.
Bin sehr damit zufrieden, Ergonomie und Gewicht des Gertes sind ausgewogen, man ermdet nicht.
Der Trimmer ist sehrgut zu gebrauchen. Ich habe schon einige Gerte der grnen Linie, dadurch kann man den AKKU fr mehrere Gerte verwenden.
Da ich auch einen Boschtrimmer mit Schneidblatt und Faden habe, verwendet meine Gattin den Akkutrimmer fr die Feinarbeiten.
Da er sehr angenehm in der Hand liegt und kein Kabel mitgeschleppt werden muss ist er sehr hilfreich. Auerdem hat man Ihn schnell bei der Hand.
Leider habe ich die Bedienungsanleitung nicht ordentlich durchgelesen. Bei der montage des Rades ist mir ein Missgeschick passiert und ich finde zur Zeit kein Ersatzrad.
Habe auch einen Ersatzfaden mitbestellt.
I brought this to replace a petrol strimmer, I wish I had done this ages ago. It’s lightweight, easy to use, it’s First use was cutting long grass around the garden, my wife then stole it to cut down the nettles and rubbish around the horse paddocks, which it did with ease, she did come back after 40 mins with flat battery.
It’s lightweight, made of plastic but does the job and for the money I can’t fault it should have brought one ages ago, and it has three years warranty.
Almost like an old-fashioned scythe – the handles encourage good posture. Very effective action and switching modes very simple with foot pedal. Yet to experience the extent of battery life. Only quibble: attaching the guide wheel needs to be done carefully. I tried forcing it on and a lug broke but followed it up through Bosch spares and replacement on its way (at my cost of course). It’s now 7 weeks later and still no sign of the replacement part although it was paid for up front. Bosch’s agents always have the same reply: ‘Bosch can’t say when it will be delivered. I’ll phone them today and call you back’. They never call back. The alternative is an offer to cancel the order. Beware Bosch spare parts.
