I noticed a significant difference in using this compared to the built in webcam in the laptop. Very sturdy on top of any screen I have put it on. Easy setup with no lag or dropout.

I have a Raspberry Pi running motioneye so that I can remotely monitor the fermentation process on my homebrew kit in the garage. The Pi auto detected and configured the camera and it was up and running in no time at all. Image is really sharp and smooth so really happy with it particularly, as noted in the title, it’s astonishingly low price !

Cheep effective ez to use and worked perfectly
The only thing that I can fault them for is the clip wich is not even that bad I just have a funny shaped screen (4 stars cos the light did not work) I don’t need it any way so I am not bothered about it [have not tried the mic yet]

I bought this for Zoom meetings. It was easy to use and did the job.
I haven’t worked out the clip yet. Think a screwdriver might be needed. The instructions didn’t cover this.

For the price, a great camera (I have 2!) The colour is nice and the light level auto adjustment works well. The only issue is that there is a slight “fish-eye” effect to the image. It is only noticeable if you have straight lines behind you (picture frames), that they will look slightly bent/warped/not straight. But with a blurred background or plain background it is not noticable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor a 14 webcam, I think it is great. I got because I have a 32″ monitor but no webcam. For work we have a lot of internal team meeting and with our clients. In fact we train over teams.
5 stars for the audio, I no longer need to wear a head set no more hot ears. Brilliant and far more natural.

How long will it last, I retire next April so if it survives that long it will be 14.00 well spend in my opinion. If it doesn’t I will buy another.

It’s a fairly cheap webcam and so I didn’t have high expectations for it, the camera quality is fairly poor, probably about 480p but I wasn’t expecting much. However it could be cheaper given the fact this probably cost 1$ or less to make

I purchased this for streaming and will say, it looks a lot better than I gave it credit for.

Looks great on playback and visual capture has little to no latency. It can struggle in poor lighting but then again, most cheaper webcameras struggle with this too.

Would recommend to starting streamers or bloggers

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReading some reviews makes this sound as though there is a wiring issue, there is not. The lead entering the unit on the back ‘feels’ loose but is most probably clamped internally which allows that movement in and out of the unit. When you plug this into a Windows system you get the connected noise but soon after get the disconnection noise, your camera is fine, its not dodgy wiring. To test the camera simply run up the ‘camera’ application on Windows and you get the connection noise again and the camera will go live with a green LED. When inactivate it will disconnect and show a red LED.

TL;DR Unit is fine, just give it a program that uses a camera.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI would have rated this 5 stars but only gave 4 stars because it’s impossible to manually adjust the width of view. I can move the camera, up, down, sideways but not how much of my room someone can see. There are two modes, standard or panoramic but no ability to adjust the viewing angle despite trying to find adjustments for the camera. The HD effect and ability to touch up my appearance is definitely an improvement on my built in camera.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI needed a simple web camera to use with my MAC and Windows. This camera works out of the box, plug in to USB and it is available straight away, no drivers, no software needed. Quality is more than acceptable but I have nothing to compare it with, as this is my only web camera. Recommend!

Update: I bought a second camera. The picture quality was heavily in the red spectrum. I could see huge red blips on a skin and objects, background was also reddish. I was lucky with my first camera which works perfectly out of the box. The second camera is going back for a refund.

Update after trying on a Windows computer: it works fine. Video is good quality, mic works fine.

My Linux isn’t exactly kosher (heavily modified Arch Linux), so I’m not even going to claim the problem is Linux itself, as the image works fine, it’s just the mic that doesn’t get picked up, but neither does my speaker, which is vanilla, so it’s probably my fault.

Minus one star because the camera’s monitor support isn’t strong enough and kept falling off the monitor when my standing desk moved up and down. But it’s ok if you don’t move your monitors much.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersMac Compatibility
I have seen a few people say that this device does not work on Monterey. Well I am using Monterey 12.1 on a MacBook Air M12020 and it works perfectly! – I literally just plugged it in (via a powered hub) and it worked straight away in FaceTime, Zoom, Teams & Skype – Everything I have tried so far! All I had to do was switch from the built-in camera to this one.

    Camera
The picture quality is 95% as good as the built-in camera on the MacBook Air, perhaps not quite so good in low light, but is perfectly acceptable and will now allow me to look at my monitor, and still appear to be basically looking directly at the person I am talking with!

It is a wide-angle camera, so there is a bit of a ‘fish-bowl’ effect to get used to, and things that didn’t show up at the sides of my room before, are now in shot – time for a blurred background! 🙂

    Mounting
The low pressure clip to hold the camera onto the top of the monitor is surprisingly good. It holds it in place way better than I thought it would!

    Indicators
A nice clear red power off indicator, and a bright green one when in use – what more do you need?

    Audio
The audio is fine, again the Built-in MacBook Air Microphone is probably just a touch better. (I have opted to continue using the MacBook Air Microphone as most apps will allow you chose the video from the camera and audio from the MacBook)

All-in-all a good product at a low cost. 4 stars just because of the fish-bowl I have to get used to…
