Ustellar Smart Security Light Outdoor Motion Sensor, 20W 2000LM Smart Flood Lights PIR Tunable White 3000K-6500K WiFi Control Outdoor Waterproof IP65, APP/Voice Control via Alexa Google, 1.5M Wire

    In the box.
    The light, bracket and instructions.

    Features.
It is weather proof and can be controlled via an app.

    Set up.
It is easy to mount and connect.

    In use.
It can be controlled by Alexa enabled devices, mobile phone and Wi-Fi. I used the app and it works well. It is better than the older PIR designed outdoor lights. It does have a PIR if you don’t want to use the app or Alexa etc. You can switch it on and off, operate a timer and change the colour temperature.
I have had it up on a garage for 4 months and it is fine despite storms etc.

    Overall.
A neat light and easy to set up and use. The app is intuitive. Mine worked fine out of the box and was a brand new one.

For this price you cannot go wrong. Only had it a few days but it is great value. It puts a stop to irritating PIR lights constantly going on and off for now reason. Now I can just turn it off or control it from the app. What is there not to like?

This light was to replace a faulty PIR sensor light that was roughly the same size. The advantage is I already had the cabling into the house / loft in place. So after connecting the new cable to the existing cable with a junction box it was a quick install for me. The problem with the traditional / non-smart PIR lights is the testing / fine-tuning of them which can involve several trips up/down a ladder! This light as long as the PIR sensor is in the right place then the rest of the settings can be controlled via your phone. This is my favourite feature having control over the light as when sitting in the garden it is nice to be able to control the brightness and leave the light permanently on if required. The light is IP65 rated which I would prefer it to be IP66 for waterproof rating, as I had a different branded IP65 light and it did not last too long so will see how long this one lasts. Hopefully the IP65 is good enough as the light is very useful.

Has loads of options and settings. Only one thing.
On manual mode ( when you tell Alexa to control it ) once you say for example : Alexa turn on light outdoor, after that it dos not go back to auto mode. You need to go back into the app and select auto. Otherwise it will not turn on when somebody passes in front of it. Exept for that it deserves stars.
Brightness I gave it four stars as it is not that bright but this is my personal opinion it maybe enough for other people.

First thing I will say is this this is extremely bright. The area I have it in is quite large (approx 10 x 40 metres) and I still have to have it pointing down towards the ground slightly or it will be too bright.

Was easy to set up and use with app.

Had to have a refund and get a new one cause the first one had a fault but this wasn’t a problem and the refunded was issued quickly

Detection range is ok has a few dead spots during detection but the over all settings being able to go from dull yellow to brite blue/white light is Spot On and asking alexa to turn on or off aswell as google home is a real bonus if you hear a noise outside etc pretty good piece of kit.

I do believe at the time of ordering this light it was 19.99 which in today’s market of floodlights is very good value. The app and features are very easy to navigate but tbh I just use this light as a stand-alone P.I.R floodlight so I can see what I’m doing in the pitch black when I get home from work at 4 pm in the afternoon! Only time will tell if it will stand up to the harshness of winter! but so far so good!

This Ustellar Smart Security Light was fairly easy to set-up, and illuminates by rear patio with plenty of light.
I already use the Smart Life App for other bulbs, sockets, and cameras. I have my bt router set with split 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels.
I initially set my mobile phone to the 2.4 GHz channel just to set the smart security light. I connected the light to the mains opened the Smart Life App and it detected a Wi-Fi smart security light, then I tapped on “go to add” and it then asks for router password then it then adds the light and it was ready to use. The phone can then be set back to the 5 GHz channel.
The security light can be controlled for brightness and colour temperature with the Smart Life App, if you also have the Amazon Alexa App and have enabled the Smart Life skills the bulbs will then be added automatically. I have set the Alexa App to turn on the light at a set time and colour, then to turn off the light later in the evening. You can also set the parameters for the motion sensor with the app.
The 20W 2000LM output is enough for a small to medium area, I did find the 1.5M wire to be short and I had to use a junction box. I then ran a mains cable into the house with my satellite dish cables, I fitted a 3 amp fused plug and just used a spare mains socket.
Other reviews have said they received a used or poor quality security light, the one I received was in perfect condition and feels well made.

Overall, this is a very useful PIR smart security light and a great addition to a slightly smarter home.

    Very good Smart Security Ligh

I bought these lights just for a small party, but the lighting effects are really amazing, which is more than my expectations. The installation is easy, the lights just access the wifi and then I can easily control the lights with the APP on my iPhone. Also, I can control the light color, temperature, and brightness.
hey seem to be well built with all metal and glass construction. They’re one of the few products that has lived up to the hype in the review section.

I intend to use mine outdoors and leave them in place so I am somewhat concerned how they’ll last in the elements getting hit with the sprinklers regularly. I put a sheet of contact paper over the glass portion which I’m hoping will prevent hard water stains. The lights don’t get super, even during long periods of use, so I don’t think the contact paper will melt and make a mess.

This PIR light was immediately (4-5 seconds) detected by Smart Life App once I turned the light on. Till then it was blinking. I thought I would have to read through the instructions steps but not needed.. 🙂
I paired it before installing it outside. Installing it was easy as it replaced an existing non-smart security light.
Using the app, you can control the sensitivity of the light that means how far should it look for movement and how dark it should be to start monitoring. You can also control how long the light should stay on, from 5 seconds to 60 minutes. You can have different shades of cool white or warm white, again controlled by the app. The sensitivity of the PIR is good, detects movement and the light is well responsive.
Selling point of this security light is that it is controlled by the app which I think is a great feature and ease of use. Also, priced well at 23.99.

We are useless at DIY in our house but yet managed to connect this light to existing outdoor wiring from a previous outdoor light with no fuss. If you can wire a plug you can wire this in. The light was easy to wall mount with the attached bracket and once mounted it is easy to change the angle of the light so that you’re not accidentally blinding some neighbours or passing cars!

Once wired up and mounted, it was a little tricky to connect to the Smart Life app at first but then it was much easier to go on to connect it to our Echo devices in the house. Straight out of the box the brightness was fine for our garden and the motion sensor picks up the dogs walking past, which is what we wanted rather than a security light per se. We did adjust the light to a slightly warmer colour as it seemed a bit brighter for what we wanted. You can only go between warm white and cool white colours and various tones in between but it’s amazing the difference a different shade of white makes to the brightness and feel of the outside space.

Turning the light on and off with Alexa or the app is absolutely fantastic and makes such a big difference to us, especially when you have your hands full with kids or other dogs or whatever. The timer function for the light to go off after a certain time on the app is also great for us as it stops me accidentally leaving the light on during the day and not realising, which happened all the time with our old outdoor light!

There’s also a schedule function on the app which is super useful when you know you want the garden lit up at certain times of day, like every morning and evening in winter months.

Really pleased with this little light and wouldn’t hesitate buying it again if we needed one for the front of the house, you get a lot for your money with this one.

he light, is decently bright for an LED but adjustable ones are never quite as bright as single colour/temp lights so bare that in mind.

the app control is honestly very good, the level of adjustment you can make to the light and the sensor is impressive.

the cable is really short (140cm) with no plug included this is far too short for what I want to do with this, so I will be changing the cable for a much longer one (which is honestly very easy to do on this unit thankfully)

    good light short cable

I found this quite easy to install by linking this to the existing wires of my old (and broken) light.

Quite bright and managed to illuminate the length of my garden (approx 30m).

I’ve not really used the sensor function as I pretty much exclusively use this with Alexa. This linked automatically once I’d installed the light on the smart life app. I’d used this before for other lights so already had an account. Once wired up and switched on the light pretty much installed itself on the app, blinking to show linking.

Great for seeing the dog out at night.

I ordered this security light because I liked the idea that if needed I could force it on manually through alexa. I’ve had a PIR light on the shed for a while and if I’m working in the garden during the darker months, it can be quite frustrating when the light keeps going off. This device has the benefits of both PIR movement activation, or alexa, or the app.

The app allows you to set up the brightness, the colour (yellow/white), sensitivity, activation light level (day/night) and the time it stays on for. This is great because I don’t have to spend time walking to and from the light adjusting time and sensitivity settings.

The light is bright and illuminates the garden well when required during the night.

    Alexa compatible

This outdoor security light is great for garden, driveway, garage, pathway, shed etc The motion detection when triggered will illuminate an area therefore providing a deterrent, it is also great for safety purposes particularly if lighting is otherwise poor. Installation is straightforward with 1.5 metres of cable included and an adjustable bracket for positioning the light.
The brightness of the light can be adjusted as well as a choice of colour ranging between white and warm white.
However it’s the ‘Smart’ component that’s the most attractive within our household. The light can be controlled by voice command eg Alexa, Google which is particularly beneficial for my parents. The light can also be controlled by a smartphone which acts like a remote control. It can be controlled at home or whilst away which is great if you want to light your driveway prior to arriving home or for periodically illuminating patio/driveway/path etc as a security measure if you are away from home.
This light is fantastic value for money.

This is a pretty decent light if you disregard the Wi-Fi features.

It’s all-metal body is strong and dissipates heat well. The bracket is pretty standard and can be tightened to hold it pointing in any direction. The 1.5m lead is also a bonus, as some are much, much shorter. A longer lead is always welcome though.

The Wi-Fi setup and access is via the Smart Life app – one which controls 90% of my Wi-Fi controlled devices, so I don’t need another app for just one device. You can easily set the trigger settings and even colour of the light from it. There’s a log of triggers too. Of course all this relies on the lamp having access to your Wi-Fi. If it’s in an out-building or someplace Wi-Fi doesn’t reach, then it’s all no use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am quite happy with this outdoor flood light so far. It is very bright. Good design. Motion sensor is adjustable and works fine. And a nice feature which is missing in most flood lights I have tried is that it is WiFi-enabled and can be controlled with Alexa.

It is worth mentioning that the motion sensor has a bit of delay like 2 seconds before switching ON the light. Some other flood lights I have tested were quicker but on the other hand, this light has several smart features to work with Echo dot or Google. I have uploaded a video to give a better impression of the functionality.

Its installation was a DIY job. Took me less than 15 mins.

It arrived well packaged as shown in the attached photos.
The price is very reasonable in my opinion when looking to the features.

Overall, it is a great flood light that I have installed at the entrance of my house.

Really easy to install and it connected easily to my smart app. Only issue is that it the motion detector doesn’t seem to work when it’s in smart mode. If it’s on manual settings, then it works. Maybe I just need to play around with it a bit more.

What can I say this is one amazing light. LED floodlights are great but sometimes a little too bright. This solves that being adjustable just like a indoor smart bulb. So if it’s too bright you can just turn it down, if your in the garden you can set it to a warmer white etc. One problem with pir lights in the garden is that it will turn off if no movement is detected so if your sat round the bbq in the evening you have to do the arm waving thing or now with this you can just override it and set it to on with your phone or voice control. It really is worth the money as it’s so versatile

This floodlight was fairly straightforward to set up. I already use Smart Life app for other devices so adding this floodlight was a doddle.

I installed this floodlight in the backyard. The old floodlight in the backyard had dull lighting so I was amazed at how bright this floodlight was. My backyard is usually dark regardless of the time of year so this floodlight really brightened the area up, which is exactly what I wanted.

The app is easy to navigate and you can easily adjust the brightness and sensor settings to your requirements.

Good quality floodlight and value for money for under 20.

I think it is a nice light. Its quality is good. I have connected it to the WIFI. I can control all the functions by app, Google assistance, and Alexa. It is very convenient to use. Because I can control everything from my phone. Not only this, but also you can control the brightness and motion sensor by using the app. Then you can have white light or warm light according to your requirement.
Moreover, it is easy to install. You will not have to face any difficulty. I like its function of auto on/off. It is easy to use.

Ustellar Smart Security Light Outdoor Motion Sensor.

I have been a fan of technology for many years. Not all products though work how you want them too. This outdoor light with PIR sensor works flawlessly. The thing that took the most time was putting a plug on the wire. Like most people I haven’t needed to fit a plug for many years.
The unit is a perfect size for domestic use, and seems to be well manufactured. The thing that always surprises me is the bulbs aren’t changeable in these LED units. Therefore if for some reason the bulb does blow, you would need to swap the whole light unit.

If you want the light to work as intended, you need to download the ‘Smart Life’ app and create a free account. Once the app is downloaded you need to connect it to your home WIFI. Then following the brilliant included instructions, you simply connect the light to the Smart Life app. From the app you can set-up and control the functions of the light. What I love about the app is you can set up the sensitivity of the PIR, the range of the sensor & how long it stays on for. If you have Alexa or Google Assistant at home you can also turn the light on / off with voice command. You can also turn the light on / off remotely too, which is a great security feature. The best thing of all is the light currently is just 19.99 which is an absolute bargain in my opinion.

Good quality, well built flood light. Cones with cable which makes it very easy to install. I already use the Smart Life app for several items so it was really easy to add this light. You need to do a certain sequence (off, on) in order to get the light to enter pairing mode, where it starts to flash. Has multiple sensor settings on app and you can adjust the colour of the light from yellow to white and it has also timer settings. Overall a good quality product and I love that i can control it from phone instead a remote ( which most likely i will lose it)

    Works well

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWiFi outdoor led spotlight.

This light packs a punch at 19.99 and is really good value for money. Comes pre-fitted with a short length of cable ready to wire into a wiring circuit (electrician or competent diy person required) once wired up and fitted outside this light is excellent. It can be set up two ways, either on switch mode (using the app or Alexa/google) to switch on and off as required or on PIR mode (for anyone that doesn’t know PIR means passive infra red, the motion sensor). Unfortunately you can’t have it on pir mode and have Alexa control it at same time, one or the other hopefully a software update in the future can fix this as would be good to have on constant pir mode all the time but be able to tell Alexa to switch on and override the pir. Not a massive issue and not worth loosing a star over. The light can be set to white/yellow as you prefer using the smart things app and can also be dimmed if required, also a great feature. The app also allows a great number of individual settings for the PIR such as, adjusting the sensitivity of the distance it reacts too, movements are shown on the app while open which is also a great feature so you can physically see when the pir has detected movement on your device. You can adjust the length of time the light comes on for and you can also set the light to drop to a dimmer setting after being triggered for a specified period of time too which I really love. The last feature I’d like to mention is the apps functionality with other smart things devices. I have another couple of lights in the garden on plug in wifi switches that also run on SmartThings app. When the pir is triggered the app allows you to also trigger these other devices so using that one pir I can turn on all the garden lights at the same time. This is by far an excellent feature of the light. I’m seriously impressed with this led. Far better than the others in my garden.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersConsidering the price, this is pretty damn good.

This replaced an LED spotlight that I had that went wrong. As such holes were already drilled and wires in place. As such really quite straight forward to put up.

Once up and powered it was already in setup mode, and as there was nearby wifi, joined quickly. This then allows you to control manually (colour temp and brightness) as well as set the parameters for the motion sensor, such as distance/sensitivity, light sensor, how long to stay on and whether to dim).

It also gives you an Event Record, so you can see if it’s been turned on.

All this stuff is provided via the Tuya Smart Life platform and app.

It’s only been up a few days, so I can’t say it’ll run for ever and was a bargain, but hopefully the above gives you some idea of what it can do.
