I used to burn or mark over everything that had my address on for identity theft reasons. This is a much easier option, you just roll it over anything that has your personal details like bills or bank statements.
Wow better than the electric ones , just roll over the documents and all coverd, no getting stuck in anything or having to empty after so long

Wow just tested it and it’s superb , very easy to use . You cannot see anything underneath after you used this gadget. No more shredding for me as it took me ages to do. I bought this instead of a shredder as it’s also useful for re-using packaging materials ie. blotting out addresses etc. It worked straight out of the box and is really easy to use. I registered it online (address on a card inside the box) and Vantamo kindly sent me 6 free ink refills 🙂
Just one slight issue is that after several sheets the roller becomes less efficient so it’s best to put the lid back on and leave it for a while. It seems to regain its coverage after a break!
Forgot to mention that you also get a free box cutter with this which is easier than using a knife or scissors!
This is one of those small items that you keep thinking about getting, but sometimes it takes a while before you actually do.
Usually (in my case), for any piece of paper with private information on it, the paper, envelopes, etc. goes straight through a P4 or P5 shredder and then into the wheelie bin, followed by a trip to a landfill-site somewhere.
With this little gadget, all I need do is roll it over the text and the text is completely obscured, and from there it goes into my paper/cardboard recycling box. It’s magic — and fun.
But there is an issue regarding security, as noted in the instructions.
If the paper has a ‘glossy’ coating (think delivery labels on an Amazon package), gentle rubbing of the ‘rolled over’ information with a piece of wet cloth or wet paper towel will result in the information becoming visible again. If you’re just hiding the information from some casual prying eyes — it’s fine.
So: it’s perfect on uncoated paper— but not secure on coated paper.
For me, I will continue to use this little gadget when I know the ink can’t be rubbed off, or when I’m happy that the information just needs protecting from casual viewers.
Otherwise, it’s back to the shredder.
Oh — and did I say it was fun to use?
Awesome little tool replacing bulky shredder and saving my time on cutting to pieces confidential information on the letters. The print is dense and wide, uou cannot read what’s behind. If you have a doubt, two more runs over and you have a one black mass…
Plus it is fun to use. My daughter is delighted to edit out things for me – she is mesmerised by it. I am buying a second one for my office. Word of warning: the ink is oily and takes couple of seconds to dry completely. It is not running, but will stain your fingers. saying that, a bit of soap and water removes it quickly. The letter, envelope or box needs to be on an even surface. This roller stamper is hard and cannot reach deep into crevices, so make sure the wavy surface is flatten out firts.
This is a very helpful product, stops the need for having to shred everything page by page which takes ages, just quickly roll this over the page and your done!
Had a look at this product for some time. Wish I had bought it a long time ago. With one swipe your info is hidden and it comes with 3 refills.
Easy to use. I go over my address and other personal details 2-3 times in different directions, just to be on the safe side. Dries fairly quickly.
A bit expensive for what is essentially an ink stamp, but all other alternative sellers had similar prices, so it is what it is.
I bought this set as it been recommended to me by someone at work. I don’t use a shredder any more – the special ink that you get with this roller make text illegible. You can get refills – don’t try using regular ink in this as it does not provide the same level of security. I use this everyday and have bought refills too. Excellent purchase.
I bought one because a friend had one and I borrowed it. Very effective and really does obliterate print characters.
Saves time on shredding – especially when you just want to recycle junk mail or shopping receipts quickly – obscuring details like numbers and names/addresses, barcodes etc beyond any reasonable hope of recovery.
A big pile of accumulated shredding was despatched in no time. Surface has to be completely flat for best coverage. If personal details are on both sides of the same sheet of paper then ink can get smudged as it doesn’t dry instantly. Otherwise, it’s a practical size that works better than smaller ones I’ve had in the past and the clip-on cover keeps everything clean.
This is one of those gadgets that you really don’t need, but when you get it – you realise it’s now part of your ‘Amazon returns’ process, along with the brown tape and trips down to the post office.
It’s quick and easy to use – and yes one quick wipe and you’re address / barcode is no longer readable.
Beats a shredder. No idea how long the ink lasts, at present which will be the deal-breaker. Better if you do it as you go along rather than have a backlog!
The stamp comes pre-filled with ink so you can try it out right away, and it’s very easy to roll on. It comes with a cap so there is no chance of the ink getting everywhere. Mine came with six ink refills which I think will last me a long time. The ink dries very quickly and the black remains intense when dry.
The print doesn’t 100% obscure the text underneath, but it makes it incredibly hard to read—it is as effective as shredding, but you can still recycle the paper afterwards.
A really clever little tool, and I definitely recommend it to anyone with a small business.

As we no longer can recycle shredded paper. I needed something to cover sensitive information. This does the job brilliantly.
If you don’t want to put all your confidential papers through a cross shredder but recycle as a sheet this data defender does a good job of obscuring confidential information.

What a marvelous little gadget, just the right thing to swipe across your address; it cleverly obliterates by over printing (in ink) any typing, written address or picture AND it comes with extra ink cartridges. It has saved me tearing strips of envelopes and paperwork, or burning pages – one or two swipes across the address etc., and straight into recycling . Great in my book any day, complete with a container to keep it neat. Recommended.
I ordered 6 ink refills 3 were fine but the other blister pack of 3 were burst. Thankfully the ink remained in the pack saving the whole order from being ruined. I hope I can get a replacement.

I purchased this roller stamp a few months ago and it has become invaluable. No more papers in a bag waiting to be shredded, no more bits of shredded paper everywhere. I was worried the ink would run out quickly, but that is not so. The roller stamp is still going strong and I have not had to use the refills yet.
Very good coverage of if you use the ink sparingly when covering heavy print.

We use these at work to ensure data breaches in binned correspondence is minimised. This is much much cheaper than my work place pays and just as good.
My paranoid mother in law loves this. She normally rips her letters up and put the pieces in 3 separate bin bags. She’s quite happy to roll the ink over her letters now which really does conceal any writing underneath. Now she’s saving money on bin bags too ha!
I got this as I’m fed up of having to rid my personal details from packages and letters etc and thought this would be a perfect product for doing just that. Only it’s pretty pointless as some surfaces aren’t good to use it on. If the surface is even slightly glossy, you can see your details right through the ink, which defeats the purpose of this tool. I now don’t pull out this product to use so much now, as I end up having to spend more time trying to hide my details than I did before. Such a shame because I had high hopes for this.

Well packaged. Simple and easy to use design. As it says in the instructions it will only work well on certain types of paper and to cover certain types of ink.
It worked really well on till receipts. It is a sensible width that easily covered bank card and transaction details in one easy roll. The ink dries quickly. On receipts the information was completely secure.
Also worked well on doctors prescription spare page with repeat prescription info. All hidden with one pass.
I initially tried it on the address label on the Amazon packaging for this product. Looked good initially but as the ink dried the printed text shone through.
On many of the printed letter documents I found similar problem. The ink was absorbed in to the paper and left the text visible but slightly obscured underneath. I’d read someone else suggesting a perpendicular second pass over worked better. If looking to do a second pass (in whatever direction) make sure the ink has dried otherwise it’s smudges and makes the print underneath even more visible.
Also if covering large number of items in quick succession the ink starts to get slightly grey rather than black as depositing thinner layer. Just pop the lid on and leave for a minute or two and it’s ready to use properly again. Would be frustrating if dealing with large number of documents though!

Think one of the other brands for these devices has an oilier ink that might not be absorbed into paper as much, so may work on these documents better.
I think for some of my documents I might use this for important lines and then shred them too! But will definitely be using on all my receipts and then they can go in recycling!
