I wanted a flotation device to use when I’m on my paddleboard, and I wanted it to be nice and bright so I’m easy to spot if (when) I fall off. I also needed a big one and I’m over 6 feet tall and pushing 16 stone. This goes up to 220lbs and fits a large chest without any discomfort. It’s very quick to inflate – 3-4 breathes from me fills it – and deflate, using the air valve. Works really well. It also comes with leg straps, to make sure the vest stays secure in the water.
Previously I purchased a basic buoyancy aid for when we are paddleboarding as a family each of us need to wear something to make sure we’re safe. These previous vests were just very basic and were foam filled in order to keep you afloat however the accuracy on the level of flotation really wasn’t working for us due to the differences in sizes so we needed another solution.
These vests come with a pair of leg straps which help in the bottom of the vest down onto you and it not lift up whilst in the water. As well as having a blow valve which allows you to inflate the vest or deflate the vest depending on the weight it needs to carry, it has a Max size of just over 40 inches on the chest sizing which means that it fits all three adults in our house.
Add on the fact that this is a nice bright green colour which we wanted to make sure we had something that would be visible even in the murkiest of waters makes for an overall great buoyancy aid.
I love to paddle board and so do my kids. This vest is great as it fits my very large frame but can then be quickly adjusted to also fit my 7 year old. It inflates and go down very quickly with the simple mouth piece. This can also be adjusted or re inflated when out on the water.
The leg hoops are great so the vest doesn’t ride up and cover your vest. It’s bright so seen easily.
I ordered this vest for my girlfriend and me to wear with our kayaks. I’m 5’4″ and around 120 lbs. Lightweight and fits perfectly. Happy with the purchase.
