I love this walking pad! It came almost 100% set up and works as designed. You’re paying for a high end model and that’s what you get! I personally didn’t want to risk buying a cheaper one that would crap out on me and I’m glad I spent the $$.

I gave it 4 stars because the thing is heavy!!! It’s probably 40-50 lbs. and for a petite woman like me, it’s extremely labor intensive to fold up and move under the couch 3 times a day. So I resort to just leaving it out behind my desk and dragging it over when I need (which defeats the purpose of the folding feature to keep it out of eyesight during the day).

I saw some reviews on how it wouldn’t completely unfold open and you just have to use a little force each time which is fine once you learn that so that’s a non-issue.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe treadmill is great. Works as it should, easy to set up, start, and move around as needed. The app is disappointing, but based on other reviews I expected it. It does not always sync correctly to the treadmill, and it does not share data with other fitness apps. Overall, happy with the purchase, but would love to see improvements for collecting the walking information.

Sleek and compact, folds up and has rollers for easy location change/storage. It’s reasonably quiet and the remote makes it easy to switch up your walk speed. All in all it was what I was looking for, for my needs.

It’s not a running pad though and is specifically just for walking (as the product description says it only goes up to 6km/h). This is fine for me but some of you might want something faster.

When you first use it, I urge you to read the instructions and follow how to set it up or you’ll be stuck at 4 km/h. While I personally get annoyed with having to download another app, following the novice guide with it was easy to do and useful. The app can connect to other health apps (and Apple Health) if you’re tracking your steps and calories burnt. It pairs up with your pad after you turn your pad on and your app is open.

Really simple to set up, just make sure you run through the initial steps to avoid your speed being limited. Definitely for walking rather than running. Still a little heavy but easy enough to fold up and roll under the sofa. Hope to get a lot of use out of this!

I’d been unsure about which to buy and which walk pad suited me. This is the only walking machine that was small enough for my small space. I stand it on its side under my desk to store away as I live in a small flat. I use it regularly and it’s absolutely brilliant. I’m so glad I bought it!

I bought a folding treadmill to use for when I’m working at home (due to the pandemic and changing working practices) as needed to get my daily step count up from not much, to a more sensible amount.

It arrived nice and early in the day and after unpacking and setting up, I tested it out..adjusted the feet to ensure its mostly level, and have since used it 3 days of the week with no problems.

Occassionally it makes a bit of a noise at the start (like an unpleasant whirring noise from the front of the machine), but that quickly vanishes when I get the speed upto 3mph (4.8kph) so reckon thats just where it must get stiff and the motor loosens up.

It counts steps, calories and distance etc and when used with the App by the makers, keeps track of it all (and I prefer using that to the dedicated remote). Plus side of using the app, is it shares info with Google Fit, so phone can keep a recording of my stationary walking for fitness tracking purposes.

All in all good..just wish it could be stored vertically (to cut down on space used (as manuals advise against this for some reason?!)) otherwise its fine..and could be stored under beds/couches if you have them sitting far enough off the floor (I dont have mine near either so no point trying).

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersMake sure to tighten the belt after set up or the belt will wander, but once done this thing works great. I’ve been told I sound like I’m in the laundry room on conference calls though, which I don’t really enjoy, but I can work around that.

It’s a bit misleading but the device isn’t Matt plastic, as such I received one that was heavily scratched on the gloss plastic with what appears like it’s been wiped incorrectly. Packing wise was brilliant.

Regarding the device it works on carpet fine it seems, allows you to walk at a desk faster than you need.

The remote also works well. I’ve not tried the app.

So far a month in seems to be great, isn’t particularly quiet though, so just plan around that, but I’ve done calls on it and no one has explained.

So far happy but knocked down due to deduce marking on arrival.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI researched under the desk and foldable treadmills for a long time. I didn’t want to be disappointed. This one I like.
It’s pretty heavy, at least for a weakling like me, so if you don’t want to wheel it’s heaviness around the house, I recommend keeping it very near where you’ll use it often.
It folds in two, and you need to center the belt as you’re unfolding it. You may also need to loosen the belt a bit when you unbox it, mine and others had it pretty tight and it wouldn’t push down at first. IT STILL WORKS. Just loosen it with the Alan wrench on the bottom ends. Read the instructions.
People said their tv remote calibrated to the treadmill somehow and the volume buttons changed the speed… I didn’t have that problem.
Top speed is 6mph. So if you like to go fast, this is not for you. NOTE for some reason for the first hour or something of use, it wouldn’t go past 3 or 4, I can’t remember. Anyway. It will go faster after a while. Idk if this is a trial period or a safety thing. Idk.
This treadmill is narrower and I think shorter than you’re normal treadmill. So be aware of that. I’m a size 8 in shoes and I find myself unbalanced on there at times. Idk how bigger feet will do. Maybe fine, maybe not.
Lastly, there is a feature where you can go faster or slower depending on where you are on the treadmill. Like move to the front to increase speed, Move to the back to decrease speed, and stay in the middle to maintain speed. Yeah, this never worked well for me unfortunately. So I just use the remote.
All in all, great space saving option for a treadmill. 6mph is all I need. I’m happy with it.

I wanted to wait at least a week before reviewing to make sure that I could give an accurate review. Packaged well, super easy set-up. The only hitch was that I had to have my better half help me bring it upstairs because it was a tad too heavy to do solo safely. Set-up took less than 10 minutes and I was off and walking!

Spent the first part of the week at about 1.5mph and quickly mastered working and walking at 2.0mph. I am sure I will continue to be able to up this speed. I am just cautious and slow 🙂

Today (Saturday) I have been putting in some extra working hours for the last 2.5 hours or so and I have gotten in 5 miles, burned 500 calories, and have done almost 15k steps in only 2.5 hours! This is life-changing for me because I have spent the last 2 years sitting at a desk and working. Too tired and exhausted to go work out afterward. Now I can do both at one time.

I am finally back to the amount of movement I was (PLUS a ton) pre-covid and transitioning to a work-from-home situation. So thankful I purchased this. I can already tell it is helping my mood, weight, and overall confidence.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBeen so pleased with my walkingpad! I am able to get my steps in even in bad weather. Love that there’s no assembly required!! I also love the fact that it folds and takes up less space. It is a bit heavier to maneuver that I anticipated, but absolutely not a dealbreaker. I am thinking that furniture/ carpet sliders underneath it might help it’s portability. I’d make sure to remove them before using the treadmill. I’ve used it almost every day for the last two weeks. On one of those days, I got almost 10,000 steps using it . Have not had any issues.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersWow. Wow. Wow. This thing was MADE for me. First let me address a common problem: the pad doesn’t seem to unfold when you first unbox it. Someone else posted about it. I had the same experience. Then I saw a video unboxing and realized the pad does unfold, you just have to get in front of it and gently press down. It doesn’t seem like it will unfold but it does. With that out of the way, here’s why I LOVE this thing. Love at first sight!

If you are like me, you’ll like this:

    1. You want to break up the day with quick walks but don’t want to leave the house.

    2. You want a compact exercise machine. I live in a studio and it’s perfect!

    3. When you walk on regular treadmills, you don’t rely on the side bars. The top speed in Automatic mode is 3 MPH. It is a light walk. I never needed the side bars on a regular treadmill. If for whatever reason, you NEED support bars even at slow speeds, either get a different model or but the accessory support bars (they sell them).

    4. You want a quiet exercise machine. I bought the foam pad thinking I would need it to dampen the noise. Not needed. This machine no more noise impact than if you were walking in place in your apartment.

    5. You want something easy to use. The design is truly revolutionary. Just by starting at the front, the treadmill starts, move to the middle go maintain your speed, then move to the back to slow to a stop. At 3 MPH you could even just step off without a problem.

This has blown me away. It’s daily going to be my favorite purchase of the year. I wish I had bought it at the start of the pandemic. To think of all those days I could have gotten in leisurely walks at home regardless of the weather or whatever.

To the engineers, thank you, thank you, thank you. If we ever meet, I’m buying you a health drink!

Another reviewer was unsure the correct version was sent to them. I bought the white one to make sure (the previous version, as far as I can tell, only came in black). White was the only other color available at the time I ordered.
I have only used the manual mode since it’s just simpler to press a button to go faster or slower vs knowing where to step.
I use it with my stand-up desk. It’s easy to use when using the computer (though, I’m usually going at a slower rate: 3 kph or so).
I looked at the app, but, ugh, lots of bad reviews and it works without the app, so I never downloaded it.
The readout is large and easy to read.
The door where you plug in the power cord is not easy to open, I use a metal nail file (which happens to sit by my desk all the time) to help with this, other things would work, too. Not sure if it’s just me or if someone with different fingers and/or fingernails could open it easily without help. I keep the power cord plugged into the wall all the time (it has a wall switch) instead of having the cord plugged into the treadmill.
One thing that concerns me is when it’s folded up, the track always has a “bloop” on the outside, it just seems like this fold (with a bit -the bloop- on the outside) would cause an issue with the track? Maybe not since it’s random where the track ends up each time. I’ve had it for a couple of months now and use it most days and haven’t noticed any issues.
    It folds and unfolds easily.
It rolls easily, though, it does show in the photos the treadmill being stored in a way where you’d have to roll it sideways, but there aren’t wheels to roll it sideways, so not sure if sideways pushing is easy without wheels. I store it at the back of the room, not under anything, so not a consideration for me, which also means I haven’t tried to push it sideways under a couch, so not sure if it would be easy.
I use it on a carpeted floor (wall to wall, not a rug).
I would definitely recommend this treadmill for light workouts.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis thing has worked great for me! It honestly was exactly what I was looking for when I decided I should be getting a little extra workout while working. I also think some of the harsher reviews here need countering.

–I have used this for hours per weekday for a few months while working on the computer at my standing desk. It seems to work just as well as when I got it. After moving the pad around to where I stayed for the holidays, the motor did make some weird noises, but after experimenting with repeatedly turning it off and on and moving the belt around, that went away and has not come back.

–It is quite good for burning extra calories, but really don’t think of it is a substitute for exercising and eating well…more of a supplement. Nothing replaces getting your heart rate up and muscles taxed.

–The remote works well (I recall it was possible to set up with a phone as the remote but I didn’t bother–for security reasons, I don’t like connecting stuff to my phone/WiFi/etc. if I do not have to).

–Manual mode is great and easily works at speeds as low as 0.5 mph, if you wanted that (I do 2-2.5mph). Adjustments are in 0.5 mph increments, so no 1.9 mph or whatever available. There is an automatic mode that adjusts speed depending on where you strike the pad, but not sure why you’d want something that speeds up and slows down on you when you’re trying to just consistently walk while working.

–If you have not tried a treadmill desk and are wondering how doable it is to walk while you work, you do get used to it pretty fast. I only really turn it down when I am thinking hard (strangely makes one want to stand still), or when I am on certain phone or video calls where it could be distracting (it is just loud enough people will hear you using it, and of course people can see you bobbing back and forth on a video call).

–The folding works well, and is pretty simple. (I saw a review saying that their copy of the pad gets stuck partway unfolded…all that person needs to do is just push the pad all the way flat.) It’s easy enough to use the wheels to roll it short distances; actually lifting and moving it is surprisingly heavy. There’s really no installation other than moving it into location.

–I saw reviews of this product or another in the same line complaining about the belt getting caught in the side of the product. That’s silly. It is easy to re-center the belt–just fold up the walking pad part way so the belt goes slack and…move the belt to the center.

–I am on the high end of supported weights, so I like to have only one foot on it (one off to the side on the ground supporting most of my weight) when it starts. I figure that helps stress the motor less by letting it get up to speed a bit without me on it. No idea if it’s necessary, but thought I’d note it.

–I find the motor pretty quiet, but it’s still audible.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPros: I like that it doesn’t take up much space. It folds up nicely. You can use the phone app to control it.

Cons: It’s kinda heavy to move around.
The remote battery came dead, so I had to replace that.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our Users***Update***
The WalkingPad team has been very helpful and forthcoming with this situation. It turns out the S1 sold here is the new/updated model and is essentially the same as the global C2 release. However, in the US they stuck with the S1 name. The listing here has been updated to reflect this, and it is no longer listed as the C2.

All in all, this is a great product and it is the perfect addition for a standing desk. While the treadmill is fantastic, I am rating it 4 stars because the app does not work well. It is buggy, lacking features and does not share walking activity with Google Fit, even though accounts are linked and integrated. I have the older R1 Pro treadmill from WalkingPad and I see the same behavior there as well using the app, activity is never shared with Google Fit. Aside from that, the hardware itself is fantastic 🙂

    Old review:
Received S1 NOT the C2. The older S1 appears to be from an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign from 2020. The newer C2 is supposed to be lighter, sleeker, etc.
