I have had the Carlinkit 4.0 CarPlay Wireless and Android Auto (2 in 1) adapter connected to into my car for almost 4 weeks now. It has worked flawlessly connected to my new Mazda CX-30 wired CarPlay system. In fact over that period I not plugged my iPhone directly into the CarPlay system. All sorts of journeys from 5mins to 4 hours everything has worked very reliably. There is approx a 30sec delay for the system to ‘boot up’ when the ignition is turned. There is also a 2 second or so delay when changing tracks on Spotify etc which is as reported by various reviewers. I previously had tried a Car2Play unit about 3 years ago and gave up on it as you couldn’t rely on it and the support was poor. I would very strongly recommend this CarPlay wireless unit.
Very ease to install. I took off the old USB to Lightning connector and plugged in the CarLinkit 4.0 adapter. It took some fiddling with Bluetooth settings but soon sorted out. The first few times it connected the Bluetooth seemed to struggle to get everything sorted out but after a few time it was fine. It can take a little time to connect sometimes.
While using the CarLinkit adaptor, I added another Bluetooth device to my phone, a monitoring tool attached to my OBD2 port. Again, the bluetooth had a few dropouts at first but soon sorted itself out. By this time my iPhone 11 Pro was connecting to 3 bluetooth devices simultaneously. The CarLinkit, the Pioneer head unit and the OBD2 adaptor.
My car is a 2005 BMW X3. As when I used a wired connection to the Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB aftermarket unit, all the BMW steering wheel controls continued to work with the CarLinkit adaptor. The adaptor is small and fits easily in the glovebox.
Everything seems to work as it should. I think the manufacturer would be wise to test compatibility with other aftermarket units. Many people have fitted aftermarket head units with Wired Apple Play, especially in older cars. The advertising wrongly suggests that aftermarket units may not work
Product works really well once it is connected, hasn’t ever dropped out once it has started up. Only issue is that sometimes it takes a few attempts for the car to read the device, then on occasion I need to go into my phone to connect to the device in the Bluetooth menu. This is just occasionally, more often than not it connects automatically when the car is started.
Found this to make my Android (Samsung S22) work with Apple Carplay in my Porsche 911. It does work, there are a few niggles at times, but overall I’m happy with this solution and the customer support received (via Amazon messaging) when I encountered a problem upgrading the firmware was excellent.
It’s wireless; so plug it into the Apple Carplay USB socket and then let your phone connect via Bluetooth and Wifi to the unit. There is a slight delay when typing addresses etc into Google Maps search bar, but take your time and it works. Occassionally the connection is slow to pair with the unit and dropped connection, but I’m hoping the new firmware will sort that.
It’s never going to be as good as having both Apple Carplay and Android Auto built in, but, it does work and I would recommend to anyone having similar problems with the manufacturers standard fitment 🙂
Update: the Firmware update works a treat and now it seems to connects quickly and stays connected.
Works well but does not connect up every time. Also the phone get quite hot and the battery runs down quickly during use. This might be fixable with a software update.

have tried another wireless carplay dongle system – which was more expensive too – but it just refused to load / pair / match (or whatever a ‘teccy’ would want to call it) with my VW carplay system. Whereas THIS one worked 1st time – just turned both my wifi & bluetooth on moby – plugged in the white dongle into vw carplay usb socket – then said yes in both wifi & bluetooth & it hey presto it works

Installed this into my 2018 Audi SQ5, it was so easy to connect to my iPhone 13 Pro and there is no lag when getting into the car after the initial pairing process – which I had concerns about. No more cables meaning a tidy interior!

Ich habe mir das Gert bestellt, da mein Bruder das auch hat und bei seinem Auto funktioniert (Opel Astra).
Bei mir funktioniert es auch einwandfrei.
Ich habe einen Hyundai I40. Bei mir gibt es aktuell keine Verbindungsprobleme. Auto an machen sptestens 10 Sekunden danach wird CarPlay angezeigt. Es kann passieren das nach einem Update des Carlinkit Probleme auftauchen mit musikaussetzern. Ich habe dann einfachen einen downgrade der Software gemacht und nun funktioniert alles wieder.
Ich habe mir dieses Adapter fr meinen Outlander III zugelegt nachdem ich es bei einem Kumpel gesehen habe.
Die Installation war erstaunlich einfach und schnell obwohl die Bedienungsanleitung in Englischer Sprache war. Nach ca. 4 Minuten war ich fertig( die Zeit habe ich meiner berwachungskamera entnommen als ich das Haus verlassen habe und wieder zurck war).
Der Verbindungsaufbau war ebenso super einfach. Alle Funktionen sind wie bei Kabelgebundener Verbindung vorhanden.Jetzt kann ich mein Telefon bei kurzen Strecken einfach in der Hosentasche lassen.
Ich hoffe dass das in Zukunft auch so bleibt.

Phone runs android 12, easy set up and generally loads within a minute. Had my doubts that it would work, but so far am very pleased. Haven’t tried updating software as it is working fine and I don’t want to cause problems unnecessarily. Vehicle is 2020 Hyundai.
Took a bit to get installed in my Mmi on my audi but once installed it works great.
Actually it is much more stable the the wired android auto and almost never disconnects while driving.
Was skeptical at first. Some other options on the market require installation of other software on the head units etc. This is a truly “plug and play” use, no extra work. It just works. Someone had issues with their Renault Koleos in these reviews but mine has worked great, photo attached. Maybe because mine is a landscape screen. I guess a slight variation on year. I use Google maps, music etc all smoothly. Everything works the same as using a cable with the added benefit of showing your phones battery status. Sometimes your car’s head unit will need to be a “fresh boot”, I.e not always working when you open the door and start the vehicle, I guess in a similar fashion to Wi-Fi devices at home, it needs to be looking for the connection so to speak, but mine use to do this occasionally on the cable also. A simple on and off solves this for me. I hope this is helpful. I plug my dongle into the USB’s hidden in the armrest and now my cabin is nice and cable free, looks much nicer. No trailing cables to the phone.

I’d pretty much given up with this. Plugged it into a GR Yaris and all I got was a red light. A wifi network showed up as “VOLKSWAGON” but no Bluetooth. Managed to connect to its WiFi and check for updates ( which in itself is a chore because I couldn’t connect a phone to it and the Internet at the same time, needed a laptop with two adaptors ) but there were none.
I’d previously been using this car with my phone connected by USB, so the preferred service in the head unit was set to Android Auto. On the off chance, I tried changing to Apple Carplay and the unit sprung into life… let me connect the phone and Android Auto worked fine. Interestingly though, it shows up as Carplay, so whether it converts AA to Carplay I’m not sure ( useful for cars with only the latter if so. )
Bought after reading the reviews & I must say it was easy to set up & it WORKS!!
My mobile now stays in my handbag, no wires trailing!!

I have to admit, I was sceptical about this product, in fact all after market wireless CarPlay units due to bad reviews etc. I was resigned to plugging my phone in.
This was on offer in the Prime sale and as I could send it back, I thought I’d try it.
It installed very quickly. It boots up very quickly and there is no lag I can make out whatsoever. It is as if my phone is physically connected. The unit doesn’t get hot, but it is slightly warm after a while.
I did a three hour drive using TomTom on CarPlay and was listening to music at the same time. It used 23% of the battery on my iPhone 13 pro Max.
Only been using it a week but it seems very impressive to date and well worth the 95 it cost. I get in the car and reverse down my drive to leave. By the time the screen stops showing the reversing camera, it is up and running.
I liked apple car play but didn’t like having to use cable. Came across this and I think it’s brilliant. It’s small enough to fit where usb socket is on my MG hs. So can keep the cover closed all the time. Install was easy and updated straight away. And CarPlay connects straight away. Can take 20 seconds or so to connect if I’ve not used car for a while. Otherwise car play starts straight away. Prices seems to have jumped up a bit. I got mine for 65 now they seem to be around 90. Did think 65 was a little expensive but would still buy it again. All in all happy with my purchase
i m very happy with this product, no issues or lags. connection is very fast, like u see in the video, 15-20 seconds maximum. i recommend this product 100% . i mention my car is Ford Focus 2018
Got for Android auto connection in a Skoda kodiaq, set up was a doddle despite sub par instructions. Once set up you can pretty much leave it alone. Upon starting the car it takes a good 40 seconds to boot up including infotainment boot up. Plugging in to an already booted infotainment unit then it takes about 25secs to display the maps screen. Einige Rezessionen schreiben von unpassendem USB Stecker. Mein Adapter hat eine USB C, da passt das mitgelieferte Kabel, das auf der anderes Seite USB A hat, was wiederum am Auto USB Port passt.
Die Verbindung wird schnell aufgebaut. Apps wie Karten und Telefonieren gehen einwandfrei. Musik habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert.

Bought this as it was cheap and small and without much hood that it would actually work. It’s absolutely brilliant however! Really easy to install even though the instructions aren’t amazingly clear.

C’est un petit peu lent chaque 1er demarrage mais au bout d’une 30aine de seconde CarPlay apparat sans rien faire sur l’interface (j’ai l’impression que a court-circuite l’appli Peugeot sur iPhone qui est incapable de mettre les donnes jour sans dbrancher le carlinkit mais pas grave finalement).
Si vous pouviez le sortir en noir avec petit cble noir a serait top.
Beim ersten Verbinden muss das Gert ber BT gekoppelt werden,
danach verbindet sich das Telefon innerhalb 10 Sekunden mit dem Radio. innerhalb der Ladezeit kann man zwischen mehreren Telefonen auswhlen, es verbindet sich automatisch mit dem letzen gewhlten.
Ich habe es nur im Stand ausprobiert, die Eingaben werden sehr schnell angenommen, man sprt keinen Unterschied zur Kabelverbindung,
Google Maps zeigt die Karte sehr flssig an.
Ich habe es mit dem iPhone 12Pro in einem Ford Courier und an einem Kenwood DNX918DABS ausprobiert.
I didn’t have a huge expectation of this working well but surprisingly it does. There is a couple seconds of Bluetooth buffering when skipping songs etc and I was worried this would affect the maps being delayed on screen, but it doesn’t.

Mein Smart EQ wurde mit kabelgebundenem CapPlay ausgeliefert, drahtlos soll es auch funktionieren, aber der Hndler bekommt das dafr notwendige Software Update von 0009 auf 0201 nicht hin. Da kommt dieses Teil gerade recht, es funktioniert auf Anhieb mit meinem iPhone 13 im Smart EQ.
Was soll ich sagen? Ich bin begeistert. Ich habe bei meinem Auto (Golf 7, BJ2018) grundstzlich CarPlay nachtrglich freischalten lassen. Allerdings wollte ich das ganze kabellos testen. Die ersten Tests verliefen ohne nennenswerte Probleme. Interessanterweise muss das CarlinKit NICHT an der offiziellen CarPlay-USB Steckdose” angeschlossen werden. Also liegt die kleine Box jetzt versteckt in der Armlehne und nicht vor dem Schalthebel. Die erste Verbindung verlief problemlos: Radio An, CarlinKit einstecken, Bluetooth am iPhone an, verbinden, fertig. Ich habe das CarlinKit dann erstmal geupdatet. Dank Schnellanleitung alles gar kein Problem. Ich hoffe das Gert luft lange & zuverlssig, dann sind die 83 (Mai 2022) gut investiert, finde ich. Das Handy kann ohne Kabel (auf Dauer dann doch sehr nervig) in der Hosentasche bleiben. Auerdem spart man sich die 79 im Jahr frCarNet (z.B. Live Verkehrsdaten) von VW.

Lo nico negativo es que tarda en conectar. Por lo dems funciona siempre, incluso con poca batera de mvil. Nada de desconcertarse por si o no arrancar.

I installed the Carlinkit 3 Mini in my Lexus UX around the end of March 2022. So far it has performed flawlessly and I am extremely pleased with the purchase. I did not find the instructions particularly easy to follow but basically it is a plug and go device as claimed.
Das Carlinkit 3.0 mini funktioniert in meinem Mazda 2 (Bj 2021) einwandfrei. Einfach in den USB Port des Autos (USB-A auf USB-C Kabel liegt bei) stpseln. In den Bluetooth Einstellungen des Mobiltelefons (iPhone 13 bei mir) warten bis der Adapter angezeigt wird (mit dem Namen des Autoherstellers !). Dann auswhlen und in der folgenden Abfrage zulassen, dass man mit dem Ding Carplay machen mchte. Damit ist das Gert mit dem Autosystem gepaired. Apple Carplay luft dann zuknftig einwandfrei. Der Adapter ist elegant klein. Musik geht hervorragend, so wie auch alle anderen Carplay Dienste, wie z.B Navigation oder Rckkehrbutton ins Radiosystem des Herstellers. Auch meine TomTom Go App oder Waze luft problemlos Alles funktioniert sehr flssig. Vom Starten der Zndung bis zum betriebsbereiten Carplay vergehen ca. 20 Sekunden. Man sieht in dieser Zeit das Kopplungsfenster, muss aber nichts mehr drcken oder besttigen. Einfach warten. Das Einzige was nicht funktionierte war bei mir die ntv Nachrichten App. Die benutze ich aber sowieso nicht. Das Gert zieht bei mir im Mazda keinen Batteriestrom bei abgeschalteter Zndung aus dem USB-Port. Das Kann man auf einer Betriebs-LED an der Rckseite des Adapters sehen. Zu beachten ist natrlich, dass das Handy nicht geladen wird im Wireless Betrieb. Exzessive Navi-Nutzung fhrt mit dem Adapter also zu schnellem Entleeren des iPhone-Akku. Hier ist also Kabel-Betrieb besser. Wem aber das Einstpseln des Handy lstig ist und dabei Mittel- und Kurzstreckenfahrten durchfhrt, der sollte sich das Gert zulegen. Habe gehrt der Adapter wrde nach ca. 90 Minuten sehr warm. Dazu kann ich aber nichts sagen. Meine Fahrten sind immer krzer. Von mir Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

Habe mir hier bei Amazon einen kostengnstigen USB 3 auf USB-C Adapter bestellt. Damit funktioniert es einwandfrei. Nachdem Einschalten der Zndung dauert es nicht lange bis die Verbindung steht. Eine groe Zeitverzgerung wie hier teilweise beschrieben z. B. beim drcken zum nchsten Lied, habe ich nicht.
Mein IPhone habe ich in der Jacke. Beim Ausschalten der Zndung meines Audis kommt lediglich immer die Stimme:” Ihr Handy befindet sich noch im Auto”.
Damit kann ich leben. Also bis jetzt klappt alles hervorragend.
Trs satisfait de ce dongle CarPlay sans fil. Je l’utilise sur une Citron C4 (2021). La connexion est suffisamment rapide (le temps de dmarrer en gros, 20 sec environ)
C’est vraiment un plaisir de ne plus avoir sortir et brancher son tlphone pour avoir CarPlay, notamment sur les petits trajets.
J’avais d’abord achet un dongle noname sur un site clbre chinois. a ne fonctionnait pas aussi bien. Le temps de connexion tait trop alatoire et souvent excessivement long (parfois super rapide mais souvent super long, 1 2 min), rendant l’utilisation trs dsagrable.
Avec ce Carlinkit mini 3.0, je suis hyper satisfait et savoure le plaisir du CarPlay sans fil.
Je l’ai test sur un trajet d’un peu plus d’une heure, sans dconnexion. A voir en t avec des tempratures plus leves. Car le ct du dongle non ventil par les fentes chauffait un peu sur mon trajet par temprature froide (3-4 deg en extrieur avec peu de chauffage dans l’habitacle)

Was dabei zu beachten ist:
fr die erste Inbetriebnahme ist eine BT-Verbindung notwendig. Danach erfolgt die Verbindung immer und ausschlielich ber WLAN!
Das ist aber fr den Nutzer nicht unbedingt ersichtlich und denke mal, das die wenigen negativen Bewertungen darauf zurckzufhren sind.
Aber keine Angst, alles luft automatisch ab, der Nutzer muss nur zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Gert die Voreinstellungen besttigen, alles andere macht das System selbststndig!
Eine kleine Verzgerung” bei der Musikauswahl von Spotify ist im Gegensatz zum Kabel zwar sprbar, ist aber absolut akzeptabel!
Auch nach dem Verlassen des Fahrzeugs oder anderweitige Unterbrechung der Funk-Verbindung erfolgt der erneute Verbindungsaufbau Ruckzuck”.
Das Handy sollte aber kurz darauf entsperrt werden, um eine weitere Bedienung ber CarPlay zu ermglichen.
Ich bin einfach Begeistert und kann dieses Feature fr ein CarPlay-fhiges Fahrzeug nur empfehlen!
Ich hatte eigentlich das Gert fr 2017-2019 bestellt, habe aber das neuere Gert von 2021 erhalten, welches zumindest bei mir tadellos funktioniert!
Die Gerte-Software habe ich nicht kontrolliert, auch wenn es ein Update geben sollte, nicht installieren, wenn es problemlos funktioniert. So wird es auch vom Hersteller empfohlen!
Eigentlich ein gutes Produkt. Installation ging anders als erwartet, aber es ging. Die Koppelung gelingt in der Regel innerhalb einer Minute. Bisher nur gute Erfahrung mit dem Gert.

Arrivato subito come sempre con Amazon. Facile da installare. Per ora tutto bene funziona alla grande.
Solo un paio di volte quando ho acceso l’auto non ha caricato automaticamente il car play.. quindi staccato e riattaccato ed ripartito tranquillamente (senza dover installare nuovamente il tel).
Nota: con l’ultimo aggiornamento a me non andava si staccava di continuo fatto il downgrade alla versione software precedente e va benissimo, mai perso il segnale.

Nach anfnglichen Verbindungsproblemen funktioniert jetzt alles wie es soll, allerdings wird der Adapter temporr nach lngerer Nutzung (ca. 2,5 Stunden) so hei das es zu Verbindungsstrungen kommen kann, hatte diese Phnomen jetzt 2-3 mal.
Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen das sich die Anschaffung des Adapters definitiv lohnt, ob der Preis gerechtfertigt ist muss jeder selbst entscheiden.
Der Adapter funktioniert und es werden alle CarPlay Funktionen 1:1 Wireless untersttzt. Die Verbindung geht relativ schnell (ca. 25-30 sek.) diese Zeit merkt man im tglichen Gebrauch allerdings nicht.
Die Klangqualitt beim Musik hren ist sehr gut.
Zum Abschluss kann ich eine klare kauf Empfehlung an all die aussprechen, die keine Lust auf Kabel anstecken haben, der Zugewinn an Komfort ist berschaubar aber man gewhnt sich sehr schnell daran, dass es keine Strsender Kabel mehr bentigt um alle Apple CarPlay Funktionen zu nutzen.
