Yes, I want to buy local, but as there are almost no local tool or hardware stores, I figured, I’m in a rush, and I don’t have the time to go searching for an insurance approved lock for the client.

Slightly larger than previous non BS lock but minimal effort required to deepen hole in doo
Product fitted with minimal effort to enlarge existing hole in door by making it deeper with a 6mm chisel which took 10mins. Result of this lock being slightly larger was that the keyhole also needed to be moved about 5mm. I had make the keyhole larger and then to use plastic wood to fill areas visible above keyhole covers but this is due to previous lock being non British Std and not due to the Yale lock being incorrectly sized.
The lock functions smoothly and does everything it is meant to.
The lock was ordered for next day delivery. However an empty amazon cardboard envelope arrived. Amazon were great and simply marked the first lock as returned and sent out a new lock which arrived the next day. Had to call amazon as the Web based system did not have a method to lock the arrival of an empty box ( difficult to return an item that was not in the box delevered). Since the lock was sent from Amazon direct and not a 3rd party it was an error by Amazon anc not Yale. Eitherway the issue was instantly resolved by the Amazon call centre personnel.
I have no complaints. I am totally satisfied.
This is the sort of lock most home insurance requires. It was larger than the non-BS 5 lever lock I had previously, so needed some work with a chisel and mallet. A fairly reasonable job for a competent DIYer, but others might need to employ a handyman to fit it.

The lock on an outbuilding door had become very temperamental so I bit the bullet and bought this one. It has the same backset but the body itself was a bit bigger so there was a bit of drilling and chiselling to do. All good now though and I think it was a good price. Pleased with the purchase.
A great lock which is probably fairly easy to install, but I had a few problems with it due to having a very chunky fire door. However, it is really sturdy and hopefully will last a long time, plus it is great if needed for house insurance.

I needed to install a mortise lock for my nan and this one topped my list. The instructions were easy to follow, my DIY skills were terrible but managed to have both the lock and bracket installed.

Seems like an excellent lock. Fairly easy to install if you have a bit of know how. Instructions are clear and the paper template guides they give make the job easier.
Well made sturdy lock
This is a well made sturdy lock. I just wish it came with more than 2 keys. I’d pay extra for more just to avoid having to get extra keys cut.
Very difficult to get excited about locks but I’m happy with the quality and it was fairly easy to install as I was replacing a similar type of lock. However I have deducted a star as it came with only 2 keys! I would have thought most households would require 4. I paid 22 for the lock and it be about 15 to get 2 more keys cut. How barmy is that? Have Yale done a deal with Timpsons?

Easy enough to install but the holes for the screws were way too big. Also I’ve only given 4 stars as there were no screws in the package. I would have thought that screws would have been an essential.

These were slightly bigger than my old lock which was also the same backset length so had to remove a lot of material to install these. The bracket is also quite tall so had to remove a lot of material.
Make sure you look at all of the measurements before buying.
This lock would have been perfect if only I had checked all measurements in every direction! Sadly, I didn’t and it is of no use to me but this isn’t the locks fault just my stupidity!

Needed to change the locks recently so bought this as a replacement for exactly the same model so cant comment on the ease of installation but I wouldn’t trust any other lock brand

Good price for a good lock
My daughters front door needed a bit more material taken off in the top part of the lock slot in the door. The old 3 lever lock was the same depth but around 2cm shorter in height.
Now in, the lock works smoothly and I’m happy that the key I have opens the lock without fuss and wiggling.

I was really impressed with the lock itself. The action is a lot smoother and nicer than my previous lock.
Looks nice. Was relatively easy to replace our old lock — we picked this one because the dimensions were close.
We initially thought it was really scratched up, and worried that we received a returned product, or a cheap knock-off. It was only after we’d installed the lock that we realised the faceplates had a plastic covering that made them look that way. Once we stripped that off, it looked pristine.
Only comes with two keys, but we got copies made at Morrisons without any issues. 10 for 3 keys.

Great lock, feels very secure and heavy compared to the lock it replaced. I had to chip away more inside the hole from the previous lock as the last one was rather tiny compared with with this one so I’m glad i changed it. Saved myself a ton on locksmith charges too!

Sturdy lock. Easy fit, after a little bit of minor chisel action as the old lock was a squidge thinner. Smooth turning key with no wiggle. Best quality lock i’ve brought in years.

A good sturdy and reliable lock
Not a lot toi say – it is a Yale. Easily fitted, sturdy & works well.
Installed trepidatiously to a windowed front door, being mega careful in drilling and chiselling out the mortice hole. Put a keyhole cover on the front to miminise draughts. The plate on the side of the door is very long with 4 long screws so needs some planning to ensure it does not interfere with the nightlatch. Another beautifully finished Yale product in bronze, just looks great.

A good quality lock. Has made us feel much safer. Would buy again without hesitation. Set up is not too difficult. Just make sure you have the right tools.
