Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI am trying to relearn the piano after not playing for 50 years. Other cheap keyboards I have used didn’t give a good action or sound but for the price I think this model is excellent and suits my purposes perfectly. It is also very simple to use and can be popped in a cupboard when not in use. I am thinking about getting a stand for it but meantime I can use it on a desk or table and play it sitting on an ordinary chair with a cushion for a bit of height. You also get a free 3 month subscription to Flowkey via Yamaha which is also an excellent way to learn from scratch or brush up childhood skills. Highly recommended by me.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent keyboard for players with a bit of experience. Fantastic sound quality. It is the second Yamaha keyboard that l have purchased. 32 individual set up combinations can be stored in the memory. This l find very useful. This longer 76 note keyboard gives me some deep/rich low sounds.

1st Feb – After saving up for so long to buy a decent keyboard for my amateur level, imagine how extremely disappointed I was when this keyboard arrived.
The damage to the box itself was appalling, both on the ends of the box and (looking at pic 3 and 4) a nasty hole half way along that someone has tried to cover up with a paper patch(!) – but whatever did this has also scratched the display screen – devastating.
The keyboard is playable, and sounds rather good – but the damage for such an expensive piece of kit is NOT good enough. I will be returning this if I don’t hear from the vendor on how to fix this.

2nd February Update – Well Amazon, you’re as good as your word, as I received a replacement today for my Yamaha PSR-E473.
The box was still battered, and had 2 holes in it – BUT – on close inspection I am now in receipt of a fresh new keyboard; tested and correct!
My review has now gone from 2 starts up to 4 starts!
Thank you AMAZON for sorting this out SO swiftly.
The keyboard? I can’t recommend it highly enough. Wow!

The courier also turned up this morning to collect the damaged one.

Arrived playable, damaged - disappointed as it was expensive - BUT Amazon sorted it!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for playing in a small church. The sound is great, it didn’t need amplification in a large room and it feels good. The range of voices is excellent. Only minor criticisms are that the piano voice sounds more electronic than on my Yamaha PSR-453 (one of its predecessors), and the software isn’t intuitive. It takes a lot of pressing buttons or turning wheels to select the right organ voice, and it isn’t easy to change when you’re playing.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have always wanted a piano and I’m so glad I finally got one. This is my first piano and I am a beginner. The quality is so amazing that I’ve never played the piano but I learnt parts of the song ‘Gymnopedie’ by Erik Satie within a day. The quality is so amazing for the price and I can’t wait to learn more songs on this piano!! (Also I’m a 15 year old so I guess anyone, any age could use this piano)

    Amazing piano, excellent for beginners

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was amazed when I looked at it after unboxing it. Perfect innovations have made it a superlative keyboard of its class.
I bring it to your notice that on 16th December 2022, due to a ‘price drop’, it was quoted for 319.00, but was sold to me for the full price of 339.00
I request a refund, if possible.

I bough this keyboard for my daughter who is an experienced pianist. It is laden with features and effects and is as powerful as many, much more expensive keyboards on the market. It is easy to use for beginners but has many features to keep the experienced music creators happy and souds great through it’s built-in speakers. I can only imagine how awesome this would sound through an amplifier.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt is not reasonable to compare this with my existing 4,000 Yamaha Genos but at its low price, it has plenty of features and is easy to use for a beginner. Light enough to be easily carried by a child and sufficiently robust with a removable music stand. Highly recommended for a young beginner.

You get a lot of keyboard for your money, the voices are many and varied and the syles
, covering the standard pianos through to world instruments offer extra interest and add value to already feature packed keyboard, would definitely recommend this Yamaha keyboard.

I needed a keyboard I could practice on and this one does the trick. I can plug in headphones and just play without interrupting anyone at home. Only issue is that I can’t plug in a peddle as far as I can tell. There’s sockets for the power lead and headphone jack but nothing else.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI decided it was time for a new keyboard as my old Yamaha PSRE423 was 12 years old and I wanted something more modern to play.

I’m no professional- I like to pop my favourite dvd concerts on then play along with them , challenging myself to get the voices on the keyboard the same as my favourite songs. I’ve been playing this way for 30 years.
What I like about Yamaha over Casio is the dual voice function that this has meaning you can get the right sound for each song, you can also adjust the volume of each voice as well as advanced settings like reverb and attack .
I managed to get this as a warehouse deal from Amazon which saved me around 80 which only sweetened the deal because the box was damaged .
You get a manual included for novices but I found it easy to use as I’m familiar with Yamaha keyboards but can understand it might be a bit complex for some older and younger users than myself.

Here’s hoping for 10+ years of musical enjoyment.

Bought my first Yamaha keyboard back in the mid 90s, but sold it on some years ago …. worked brilliantly till the day I sold it, so had no qualms about buying another Yamaha as my son is learning to play.
Really nice sounding voices on this, especially the Grand Piano which sounds really REALLY good.
They key action is very smooth and nice – not too heavy for a younger child learning to play, which is often a problem with many keyboards.
The onboard speakers sound great, although for some voices it doesn’t really go loud enough – easily remedied though if you attach it up to a separate amplifier / speakers.
As I say, all the main / new sounds ( around 250 of them ) sound really good – the older XG sounds aren’t as good, but these were being used on their 90’s made keyboards, so no surprise really.
The accompaniment section, arpeggio, split / dual voices, rhythm styles, groove creator, ADSR effect features are all top notch – seriously impressed for the price – I have since sold my Roland Juno DS keyboard / synth as this Yamaha does far more than the Roland for half the cost !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for beginners and experienced players alike

Very good sound quality, good build quality and quite easy to use interface. 61 keys, and wide range of effects and sounds available. It’s not the cheapest option for beginners however is a solid choice and hopefully should last a long time. Mains adapter included in the box or alternatively can use 6 ‘AA’ batteries for portability (batteries not included).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had quite a few keyboards over the years,in value for money this tops them all, for a beginner it’s a very good starter, that you can develop your playing skills and build fantastic sounds as you improve, for someone who can already play, you can like me spend hour’s developing new settings which of course you can save and recall when you like, there are lots of demo videos on line.

The keyboard looks fantastic and sounds great. The onboard training is a great feature for beginers. It couldn’t be faulted for the price. In my opinion the only minor gripes are that the keys although function well they can make a noise if they bottom out, more noticable on low volumes. It would also it would be more convenient if the headphone socket was on the front.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHow things have moved-on since I bought my last portable keyboard. So many features that most people will never use – but what a terrific sound, and top value for money. If you’re thinking about buying this keyboard, but you’re not quite sure if it’s the one…. don’t hesitate. It’s very good value.
