Amazing for beginne
My son is very happy he uses this same one at school he will be doing GCSEs in music so this will help him no end due to covid his teaching himself a lot of songs

I am not a beginner but think it would be a good buy for a beginner. The sound is really good. Some things are not that easy to understand. But somethings are really good and help improve your expertise on the piano. I have an old Casio which was ok but this Yamaha has full sized keys. Overall a good buy.

Value for money
Very easy to access different modes. Light to transport so can play anytime, anywhere. As a keyboard for newbie players it’s extremely good value for money.

Don't rely on learning with the Flowkey package
The keyboard is great but let down by the inclusion of 3 months free “tuition” by Flowkey. The Flowkey software has problems in detecting the notes played and they are aware of this, told me that to work properly you need a MIDI/USB connection, which the portable keyboards do NOT have. Flowkey suggested I could either use a different device/use a different voice (instrument)/buy another keyboard. Clearly, Flowkey should not be put with a portable keyboard, as I suspect Yamaha are aware. Keyboard is good though.

Very good keyboard
I bought it for my daughter in year 7 for her birthday. She loves it and is learning to play it. Overall very happy with the product.
A nice little piano depending on needs
This is a good keyboard if you’re buying this to really teach your kids how to play the piano with an instructor, but you might want to get a Yamaha E series and find one with the Y.E.S LEARNING PROGRAM built in or even just making sure it has the listen and waiting function and your winning, good luck everyone.

Good Yamaha Sounds.
For a beginners keyboard I have found it good, clear instructions , with quite good sounding voices . A touch of vibrato on the more solo voices would have been nice. I use this keyboard to improve my piano playing /
Good value
Cheap, lightweight but feels good to play for practice if you haven’t limited space or budget. Not really suitable for gigs but deffo suits a beginner.

I decided to learn the piano while in Lockdown. I decided to start with a basic keyboard just in case I didn’t get on with the instrument. The keyboard arrived within 2 days. It does exactly what it says it will in the description. I’m very happy with it – good value for money.

After shopping round for keyboards, I settled on this purchase. It has a great feel and sound, after I previously had bought a lesser quality keyboard, Yamaha did not let me down. I also like the retro-esque style of the look. It’s an ideal size for someone playing the keyboard casually like myself. Reasonable price compared to some out there for a good quality keyboard. Only downside is the stand feels a bit flimsy but that’s my only issue with it.

The keyboard was good value for what I paid. My grievance with yamaha is the access to the on line support service registration. It proved difficult with the various codes and cryptology that had to be navigated to gain access to tutoring information. I despaired and abandoned using this family.
I would be doubtful about upgrading to a more expensive model from Yamaha given the difficulty of their support services.

We bought this yamaha for our daughter, she started to learn to play. As we are not professionals, we can’t say a lot, but for beginners definitely good. The sound, the laudines all good. Daughter loves it, she learn few song already.

She enjoys playing with the different ‘voices’ and rhythms and has fun whilst hopefully learning.
The keyboard sound isn’t ‘performance quality’ by any means, but then the keyboard isn’t too expensive either, so I didn’t expect it to be. So far it has proved to be robust.
Just be aware that this doesn't have the capacity to wear wireless headphones.
I love this keyboard, I should have looked harder at the headphones not being wireless, but other than that it kicks ass 🙂

I have it already for a few months and very happy with it. I buy to start practising and is great, as you can connect with certain apps that pick up the sound from the keyboard. Very light which helps moving it around the house.

Very pleased with this, have only taken it out of the box to check it over as it’s for a Christmas Present… Beware though, the box isn’t disguised so has the full picture of it’s contents in clear view, not so good if it arrives while your kids are at home. Delivery was quick so overall i’m very pleased.

This keyboard is ideal for youngsters to learn to play the piano. The tone sounds lovely, not at all tinney like some other makes. The demo is great with lots of of different combinations. I would highly recomend for the price.

Wanted to make sure he would stick with playing before buying something that required taking up unnecessary space. He is enjoying using this and it is good value for a starter keyboard. The yamaha’s they use in his lessons are professional standard and cost hundreds of pounds to purchase, completely overkill for a child who is still learning as a beginner. With this keyboard I was reassured that the standard and level of sound is still great at an affordable entry level price.

Durable and easy to use
Bought this for my daughter who’s 11 and is in that phase of ” I really want to learn how to play the piano “. She loves it to bits. Very easy to use and quite durable.
Good for beginners
This is a beginner keyboard I got for my 7 yr old son. sound and keys are all good. There are plenty of modes but you will start using them once you are more familiar.

I was issued a challenge by my Brother to learn piano. He gave me a similar challenge what I was 18 to learn the guitar and I did very well at that’s. However at 42 I did worry if I’d be any good at this. I’ve always lo Ed piano music, but it seemed so difficult I only ever had one lesson.
So the piano arrived and so did some stickers that you put on the keys to tell you what they are. I was all setup in about 10 minutes.
Then I was stuck. So I played with all the piano settings, which are really cool and varied instruments. Then I played with all the tempos and demos, which again are really fun. Then I was stuck again. So I found a teaching app (I’m not sure I can name it here), I’m about an hour I’d learnt three chords and played along to some real crowd pleases like “Mary had a little lamb” and “Twinkle, twinkle”

Bought this for my nephew, for his birthday. Coming from Yamaha, it is well made and perfect for any young kid to practice playing those tunes.
I’m not an expert on instruments, but as a late life beginner I am well pleased with this keyboard. It’s certainly helping me to learn. Good value.

Get this if you want to experiment and see if you enjoy keyboard playing. It’s very basic, but no too expensive if you then decide it’s not for you. the build quality is fine and the sounds are acceptable. Great value.

For the money, this keyboard is good value. I use it at home for practicing and tinkering. Good variety of sounds and rhythms. Sound through on-board speakers is ‘tinny’ but the earphone output can be used to hook it up to a better sound system. Excellent beginners keyboard.

Bought for grandson for Christmas, hopefully it will encourage him to take an interest in music. Good quality keyboard with clear sound.
