I received my Yard Force mower today and I’m really pleased with it. I had been using a G-Tec cordless mower prior to this which was double the price, for half the performance compared to the Yard Force! The battery arrived with some charge, but only took an hour to charge. The plus points…. very sturdy, easy to assemble, lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and cut the grass lovely and collected the grass.
The only downside to the mower is that I can not get right against the fence to give a good cut along the fence, hence my 4 star rating. This is due to the nuts holding the handle bar protruding out too much.
Overall I’m really impressed. This mower is so much better than the G-Tec Cordless mower. It was so nice to cut my grass and not have to collect the grass afterwards. It has made me realise just how bad that mower was.
I previously had a petrol mower which was heavy and difficult to start. This is the complete opposite. Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, best of all it gave a great cut to my lawn. Robust and a good battery charge too. Very pleased with the mower.
Easy to assemble, cordless makes life so much easier than corded, cuts nicely, so far so good, battery has plenty of life left after cutting front and back garden.
The mower works for about a 50mns and takes about 1hr to recharge
But it cuts well and easy to use
First, review as too early to cut grass (January)
Seen a good deal on Amazon for the mower, so bought it.
I’ve always used petrol mowers, but want to avoid yearly maintenance fee’s, and only have a small area to cut too. So far, impressed with the look and build quality, look forward to testing in the coming months which I’ll add a further review then.
great machine, light and easy to use with good battery life
I don’t think the mower was new as there were signs that the box had been previously opened and there were a few scratches and a lot of dust on the handles etc – I don’t think it had been used but I’m pretty Shure it had been built up – possibly a demonstrator or a return.
The mower itself was easy to build up and feels like its made of reasonable quality material – the battery was partly charged and took about 30 min to fully charge – Roughly 50min from empty.
I’m more than happy with the quality of the cut – I cut my grass quite frequently once or twice a week so not sure how it would cope on long grass. Roughly 100m2 and I can cut it twice and still have a bit of charge left in the battery. Very light to push and the roller stripes the grass better than I expected.
I marked it down a star as it failed to start on a few occasions – Not to worried as Yard Force extended the warranty for an extra 2yrs free of charge. I think that excludes the battery though.
Cut the grass which was soaking wet and not a problem. Perfect for a smallish garden and also very quiet compared to my electric mower.
Good machine. Wish I had gone 20mm. However 25mm is best for the grass.
First battery mower I have owned. I have a large area and it lasts well. The cut is a little disappointing (not such a close crop as my petrol mower) but grass looks good after a trim. I was probably cutting it too short before anyway.
Powerful longlasting battery and half the price of much less powerful competitors
Light… Took a while to assemble but maybe that’s just me..! Does the job…
Assembly reasonably straight forward and it cuts the lawn well.
This has been a real eye opener. It’s light, manoeuvrable and cuts beautifully. The collection bag holds a load more than my Flymo and is easy to remove and empty. The machine is very quiet and a charge seems to last a long time. It charges in about half an hour. The cutting height is easy to select.
I am very pleased with it.
Mower worked much better than I expected. I an used to a petrol mower and thought it would not be powerful enough but it is. We have a small garden and it cuts well and collects all the grass in the box.
Can cut my two small to medium sized lawns with ample charge leftover, with a 50 minute recharge time. Excelle
Had been looking for a cordless lawnmower for a while when I noticed this mower on offer for 137 so purchased. I was looking at slightly larger mowers and all metal bodies but couldn’t miss the price offered for this. The mower was really easy to put together, is easily manoeuvrable and the finished cut good. I am more than pleased with this mower although if it wasn’t on offer I would probably of gone for the 37cm model. The only thing that doesn’t seem effective is the air flow flap to tell you that the bag is full. I still would suggest checking the level manually.
Clips for handle a little tricky also need to clip in bottom of grass collecting bag otherwise good to go
Very easy to assemble. Its lightweight but seems to be of reasonable quality. I have a medium sized lawn and it just about coped on a battery charge. The quality of the cut was very good. I think it might struggle on long grass though but overall I’m pleased with it. For small to medium gardens I would recommend it.
My old lawnmower desperately needs a new blade but is still plodding along, although for months I’ve been talking about getting a cordless mower, especially now I’ve taken on my elderly father’s gardening.
Well, I’ve got no idea why it’s taken me this long to go cordless!
I cut my 23 x15 ft back garden a few days before getting this one and it’s out with the extension lead, unroll it, plug in to the RGB socket, plug in the mower, do 2 or 3 strips, stop, move the wires, repeat…
So I order this while on a deal and although delayed, it still arrived within a few days of ordering. I built the mower in my living room and familiarised myself with the instructions, while putting the mower battery on charge.
It was showing 4 LEDs when pushing the button, but thought I should fully charge it before first use to ensure maximum power.
Took it out in the garden, started it straight away and went up and down a few strips – checked the collection basket and it was already half full! There is an indicator “flap” to alert you to a full basket, but as I’ve never used this make of lawnmower anymore (aside that it was my “new” toy!) I decided to empty the basket and start from scratch.
There is a plastic key that you can remove for safety, but as I live alone I just left this in here, once I’d taken it out to look at and test the “deadness” of the mower without, but unless I have visitors I will probably leave this in place. Now, I know my old lawnmower blade was in need of replacement, but whether that was the case, or just because this is more efficient, I can’t say, but I cut my whole rear lawn in less than half hour, including emptying the collection basket another couple of times and the mower height was halfway!
I checked the battery in situ and it was showing 3 bars, so I have no doubt that it will give good enough charge to do both front and rear gardens a couple of times before needing recharging so I’m really happy with that; one of my fears of cordless mowing.
Clean up was just a quick brush down and into the shed. No wires to rewind, extension leads to reel back up and job done!
I’m now looking forward to mowing twice a week rather than twice a month and keeping my lawn tidy
First class little mower. Great battery life, cuts well. Really impressed
Happy with the product. You can pull out the roller if you want to mow on the newly prepared lawn. The battery lasted long & charged up super quick too. I have yet to see the longevity of this product but with bit of a care with battery I think it will last long.
First of all great value for a cordless mower, I paid just shy of 140 and that was with battery and charger included! My friend offered me his Flymo for free absolutely horrendous to use even after new blades, so I bit the bullet and bought the Yard Force. Super easy to set up and it’s such a great feeling to free yourself from that ‘damn’ power cord! 40v is ample for those worried about a lack luster power supply. My lawn is only 40sqm, I emptied the hopper 6 times from a long lawn at height 4 on mower and my battery only dropped one bar, great bit of kit! I’m a sucker for quality and usually spend the big bucks to buy the top brands, glad I didn’t on this occasion though! 5* to YardForce!!
We worried that the battery wouldn’t be up to the job but in fact we’ve only had to charge it once. Its not a big garden but it manages 3 or 4 cuts on one charge.
This product is as described. It is light and quiet. I can cut my lawn twice before needing to charge. That would equate to about 30 minutes of use. If the grass is long the mower will leave some cut grass in the middle of the stripe. It does this as well if the box is full. Raise the cut until this disappears. Go over it again if you wish on a lower cut to get the appearance that you want. The battery charges very quickly. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Very pleased with this product. Well made, easy to use, and a very reasonable price.
What can, I say I’m thrilled with the lawnmower my garden is one acre and this mower flew over it with just one battery charge!! The roller on the back gave lovely lines to my lawns, so easy to push and maneuver. Only thing I’ll say – no fault of mower, is that if you buy this and have a big lawn like me just expect to do several trips to empty basket on the back !
Can’t recommend this product highly enough it won’t disappoint, especially for the cost of it – bargain!
I got this for my mum, she wanted a cordless for safety mainly, I took ages looking through cordless mowers and finally chose this one, well im so pleased with my choice, so easy to use for my mum who is 75, light weight, does a lovely cut nice and short, battery length is good, she does a small front garden, a larger back garden and the allotment path out back so perfect, then charges for next time, she finds it really easy to cut, empty and charge which is all she wanted, Im in the good books too for a while haha.
cuts the grass well and right up to the edges, light weight east to move, im 77 best mower ive ever had
This is a really great lawnmower. It’s powerful, lightweight and the battery lasts 30mins as described.
I purchased this mower as my Mount Field mulching mower was getting to heavy for me to get out of the shed and down the steps due to an arthritic knee!
The mower is powerful and I can’t cut 3 lawns with one charge ( if the grass is normal length and not been left to get high)! with normal once a week cutting no problem.
I would have bought a Worx mower as it’s a brand I really like and have 6 different appliances already but I wanted a brushless motor and to get that with worx was way more exspensive! So I took a chance and purchased the YardForce mower on reviews and could not be of more pleased.
One final point I was so used to a mulching mower with my Mount Field I found it a pain to be emptying the grass box again so tried it without!! On short once a week grass I think it out performs my old mower on mulching which is good for a mower that should not do this!Oh and it’s nice and light!
It’s able to mow front and back without having power cut off and still plenty of battery left. Can cut super long grass without any problems.
So much easier for me now with the cordless mower. Very easy to assemble and use.
Super lightweight Mower , ideal for small gardens & easy to carry 5*
I am delighted with my new mower. It certainly isn’t light but I wouldn’t say it is heavy. I am almost 70 and I manage it without too much trouble. I mow our lawn plus five other lawns for neighbours. I usually get six of the lawns done in a single charge but the battery charges to full again in about 20 minutes so just long enough for a cuppa and a break. It is wider than my old mower so less trips up and down the lawn plus that all important manoevourability which comes with a cordless. I would buy it again tomorrow.
Hi very happy with it and fits into back of car when fold down.
As a typical man I didn’t read the instructions to assemble it but I didn’t really need to as it was very straight forward.
Nice and quiet compared to my old Mountfield petrol mover that seized on me mid cut hence the purchase of a new mower.
I have a “small” grass area approx 120 square foot and I reckon I’d easily get 4 cuts out of one battery charge, maybe 5!
It’s feels a bit too light compared to my petrol one but that’s to be expected and as such its very easy to manoeuvre.
My only gripe is the cutting height. I like my grass short short to remove daisies etc but this mower doesn’t go low enough for me personally.
Having said that the cut is good and is directed into the grass bucket very well.
My husband and always used to fight over who’s turn it was to mow the lawn, we hated doing it as our old mower was heavy, corded and rubbish at collecting the cuttings so we’d have to also rake it all up afterwards. Really wish we’d bought this sooner as now it’s a 10-15 minute job for our medium sized lawn. The mower is light weight and easy to manoeuvre, has no cord to get in the way, actually collects all the grass cuttings and leaves a nice subtle stripe in the lawn too.
Because its so much easier we’re cutting the grass much more often so our garden looks so much nicer and the lawn is looking much healthier too. The different cutting heights are good too, I prefer to use the 3rd lowest setting and mow more often as the grass looks much greener and more healthy than when you cut it too short. The battery charges quickly and lasts well, we can get two cuts of both the back and front gardens out of one charge.
The mower came mostly complete, assembly was just attaching the two parts of the handle on to the mai machine so was nice and quick and easy. The main handle folds away nicely making it nice and compact to store and there is a little handle on the body of the mower which makes it very easy to lift and momve even when folded up. It was also a bonus that this mower is part of the GR40 range where you can use the same shared battery and charger for multiple tools so we are now looking to buy a hedge trimmer from the same range once it comes back in stock.
A very good quality and constructed cordless electric mower in the Bosch level but at 2 thirds the price.
Very powerful with it’s 40V battery and quick charger.
The 7 level cut, side grass flow ducts and rear roller are very good features.
Only downside is the high weight but for this quality of construction is to be expected.
Despite this I would highly recommend this mower
Replaced a recently purchased Einhell 18/30 mower which had a faulty battery only holding the charge less than 10 mins, very poor cut performance .and a motor which sounded like something was loose inside.
This was a very inferior mower compared with one and well worth the additional 50 purchase cost.
Returned to Amazon and awaiting refund payment.
My hubby actually likes mowing the lawn no more moving leads about fabulous purchase
This mower is both lightweight and manoeuvrable and retain battery power enough to do both of my lawns twice..It is well constructed and the grass box is robust.
Bought for a larger front and rear lawn at my new house, was a little concerned about power/ range etc but trusted the reviews and am very pleased. Sturdy, lighweight, folds up nicely and leave an okay stripe in the lawn too. Mower easily cuts front and back lawns totalling about 100sq m on around 1/3 of a charge. Longer grass does use more battery and I have had to cut twice, lowering fully after the first initial cut after all the rain finally let up recently as the lawn had got a bit wild and the mower didn’t have the power to get through it properly. Worth noting if you don’t cut frequently but 2 cuts was still done on one battery charge so not an issue.
An excellent battery mower that is light , manoeuvreable , cuts well with the stripe effect and a battery that lasts at least 45 mins of use. Good value for the price.
The best word to describe this lawnmower is Wow!
I’m reviewing the new LM G34A 40v model.
Lot of people complain cordless mowers struggle with tall grass, they are cheap plastic and battery dies after 15mins. Not this one!
Seriously,,, I cut my 2 lawns which are about 100m2, and had 3/4 battery left!
I’ve used it 5x times now and it still only uses about 25% per cut. I never thought the battery would be this good. Well done Yard Force.
Please note the charger is quite big though, but does the job.
Build quality is sturdy plastic. Not toy like some other models. It has a rear roller for stripy lawns too.
A little bit of assembly required with the handle. The images in the manual are tiny so you need good eyes but it’s pretty straightforward using common sense.
The grass box works well too. I’ve seen people complain about Worx, Bosch etc but the hybrid box does gather the grass really well. Not too difficult to remove and attach again. Fills up quickly!
The blade is steel.
This model is collapsible too fo easy storage. It’s not super light but has got a carry handle.
Quieter than my old Bosch corded one.
All in all I’m super happy with this purchase. No more cables to worry about, cordless is the future defo!
Please note this is reviewing the newer model LM G34A with 40v Samsung battery.
I have used petrol mowers for most of my grass cutting life due having a large lawn. Since down sizing Property I purchased yard force cordless lawn mower due to my dislike of power cords and extension leads. I was a little apprehensive to move from a petrol to a battery mower but I have no complaints at all. The yard force is light weight, cuts the grass at several levels which makes cutting the lawn a pleasure. No rocking the mower backward and forward, just push and it cuts. I’ve attached the before and after of my rear garden lawn.
100% recommend this produc
Easy to assemble, this mower cuts grass very well. It’s fairly quiet and vibration free.
Large capacity collection bag, Battery charges pretty quickly.
My grass are is approximately 12m x 10m and the battery is only about 30% depleted when finished.
I recommend it.
I’d have to say that my expectations were not particularly high as this mower is replacing a petrol Honda which we’ve had for years. After the first cut, I’m super impressed. The mower is easy to manoeuvre as it’s quite lightweight (you can lift the whole thing quite easily. It cut my slightly overgrown lawn (approx 120 sq metres) without issue. Battery showing three quarters full afterwards, which I really wasn’t expecting. The whole thing took around 25 minutes. Time will tell as far as reliability goes but it seems well made and I expect it’s a fairly simple machine in essence, much more so than the old petrol one. Highly recommended, great value for money.
Assembly was fairly straightforward and the instructions were just about adequate, 10 minute job.
Mower arrived a day early, unpacked it and assembled in less than 30 minutes. Fully charged the battery (was almost there in any case) and put it into action within an hour of delivery which was fortunate as it has been wet and windy ever since. The mower is really a quality product (certainly not a toy) easy to use and well designed so not too heavy and therefore easy to maneuver but solid enough to produce an excellent cut (thanks to the solid blade as well) and efficiently collects the grass in the catcher. Battery lasted for in excess of quoted time and certainly long enough for me to cut my over 350m2 sloping yard. A great mower that I would strongly recommend to anyone with a small to medium sized yard and the mower had no problem cutting though some fairly long grass. Even better at the reduced price.
I was very surprised with the power of this mower , it cuts very well without any stuttering and after a while I forgot it was battery & not mains power .
the battery’s have improved so much in the past couple of years
Took me an hour to assemble( but that’s just me)-great for a small or medium lawn-light-manageable-reliable quick charging battery-grass box handle keeps coming off( might have to bond it)….
Would recommend -good mower at a fair price
Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. Cuts really well, with easy cut height controls. Battery lasts a long time. Delighted with this mower.
Pleased with this purchase. Fairly lightweight once assembled & fairly easy instructions to aid assembly. Does what it says on the box and gives a perfect cut…with lines.
I was a bit concerned about buying this when I looked at some of the other reviews. How wrong I was! Wow this mower is great. It had no problem what so ever in cutting my lawn which had grown to about 5 inches, in fact it did a better job than my old electric mower! OK I have two small lawns but the battery has loads more power left after cutting them. The freedom without a cord is fantastic! I wish I got one years ago.
Have had the mower for a while now and it does a decent job without all hassles associated with cabled and/or petrol mowers. It was easy to assemble, is nice and light and easy to handle/manoeuvre, and as long as I cut my grass regularly the battery lasts sufficiently (approx 45mins) long enough to do my entire grassed area.
I’ve not bought a lawn mower in over a decade, so I wasn’t even aware you could get reasonably priced battery mowers. I was able to do my lawn which is roughly 40m x 15m on half a charge and it was really easy to empty and clean.
Nothing to dislike. Excellent lawn mower. Excellent performance level grass cutter with nice stripes.
Totally recommended in every respect.
The only problem we seem to be having is the grass cutting box keeps falling off
Arrived on time easy assembled . Bought as we are seniors and thought it would be lighter to handle . Find it heavier than we thought.
Initially thought there was a problem with the teeth grips whilst building but with a bit of welly got it in place! Great little mower, on the first cut of the year I used it for about 45mins and the battery is signalling that its about half power left. Good bag size for cuttings and can get close to corners so only need to strim for a short period of time! Rate it 4/5 overall, its my first battery powered mower so think it’s a good introductory one.
I bought a petrol lawn mower in late 2020 for 280. It was a nightmare to assemble and then of course had to get the right oil and petrol etc before we got it going. Worked fine for a while but was a nightmare to start. Until we brought it back out in 2021 and would start but then cut out after 5 minutes despite all the troubleshooting. I was at my wits end so eventually returned the petrol mower.
Replaced it with this mower. Bought on prime, arrived the next day. Had it setup within 15 minutes. Press a button and it starts – without fail. And it has a bigger bag than the petrol mower. Is lighter. Has a roller.
Just buy it.
Great mower and found it very easy to use. Quiet and manoeuvres easily without the encumbrance of a cable. Have used it three times so far and the battery is still only at half power. Lightweight so makes it easy to store after use. Would definitely recommend this product.
Bought this to replace an ageing Bosch machine .Bosch don’t do a 34 inch cut machine anymore and the ones they do are ridiculously expensive. But this beauty ticks all the box’s.The right size easy to manoeuvre, light ,stores compactly and most importantly it cuts the grass well with stripes as it has a roller. My previous one had a roller and it is really difficult to buy one these days with a roller attached .It has a two year warranty as well .All in all an excellent purchase at a good price delivered quickly.
Took a little while to sort out the drawings to assemble, could do with being larger! however that aside, it works very well and is easy to store. The construction is solid, and so far the battery life is good. I would recommend
The battery charged quickly and cut the grass well using less battery than thought! Much easier to cut the grass with a cordless mowe
Compared with some big brands this is really good value. Design and build quality are excellent. Has load sensing to match power and consumption to the mowing requirement and this seems to be one reason for very good battery life. The battery has a capacity indicator which I find essential but is not always provided on some makes. Recommended.
Great little unit, really easy to use, battery lasted for four uses on a 200m2+ lawn and was excellent at picking up the copious amounts of oak leaves at the same time
This lawn mower is very easy and light to manoeuvre. It covers a large area on one charge and gives a very good cu
Length of time that the battery lasted , I am able to cut both my lawns twice on a single charge, would have preferred the height setting to have been a little lowe
Good for small to medium sized garden. Very good quality and reasonably easy to assemble with patience. Easily folded away.
Lightweight but does the job on our uneven sloping lawns. Battery lasts well on lawn about the size of a tennis court and so much easier to use than our old electric machine with a trailing cable. Can recommend.
Great price, solid build, nice & chunky, loads of height adjustment, really quiet, powerful, fantastic customer service (I asked about the grass collection bag as it had some stiching loose, Yard Force sent me a replacement immediately FOC) – most importantly this lawnmower has made cutting my grass an easy hassle free experience with no cables to keep swinging around my garden. Cut quality is nice and even and all the cut grass ends up in the bag and not all over the lawn. Thoroughly recommend Yard Force mowers
Easy to set up and only used once so far but easy to use , cut well and battery life very good.
Slightly bigger than imagined good cut will get used to in time biggest plus no wires to trip over or doors to negotiate.
Fantastic battery life, the first time I used it out of the box the battery was 75% I was able to go over my lawn twice and the neighbours lawn which was overgrown.
I can cut the grass a few times before having to charge it again.
It is well built, easy to assemble the first time and each time I use it.
I would highly recommend this mower.
YES its battery operated and yes it wont last all day – but for that quick lawn cut with no hassle of a lead – it is brill
Got this to cut the grass over at the cemetery due to council cut backs and I have to say it did a good job, the grass was easily over 5inch long and wet in places and on the right setting gradually dropping it down it managed just fine.
Could do with a slightly longer battery life. Decent product for the price
Having decided to find a cordless mower , we ordered the yard force mower, it arrived well packed and with picture instructions , to be honest my husband would prefer written, but carefully looking at the parts and pictures it was assembled in no time, the battery was already partially charged and didn’t take long before it was fully charged and the mower was given its trial , the grass was cut really well and easily, and my husband has been impressed and so pleased with mower every time it’s used , it’s the easiest and lightest mower he’s ever used . I also find it so easy to use and handle , so two happy gardeners .
We bought this to replace an old petrol Hayter mower which had been a sturdy workhorse for 20 years.
What a difference! This is incredibly lightweight, easy to use, and maneuver, and cuts just as well if not better than the old Hayter.
In light of other reviewers apparently having reliability issues with their’s, I left this review for a couple of months after we received the item, but I’m happy to say that we have literally nothing bad to say about this fantastic piece of kit!
Easy to manoeuvre around the garden. Cuts close to the edge. Battery lights show how much charge is left. Compact to store and different cut height available that are very easy to switch between.
The first one delivered had a faulty adjustable cut height but this was easily exchanged for one that worked. Hardest bit is taking the faulty one to the post office to be returned!
Really happy with this purchase. Makes life so much easier not having a cable to dance around and means the lawns can be cut in half the time. Battery charges very quickly and lasts well, the hubby can cut our 2 lawns and his parents 2 lawns on one charge. Seems like a quality mower for half the price of the bigger branded ones.
I needed to replace my 12+yrs flymo so did a bit of research and came across this marvellous mower. Arrived and assembled with no probs at all, then charged the battery which didn’t take long as it had a 3/4 charge in it. After mowing both lawns I was amazed with how much grass it had picked up compared to me flymo, plus there was 3 out of the 4 lights on display on the battery It’s so light and easy to manoeuvre, plus the ease of packing it away for storage is also a massive plus.
This lawnmower really is great, no more cables, very light and easy to manoeuvre , used to dread cutting the grass now I throughly enjoy it because of this lawnmower!
Excellent mower.
I put it together in about an hour (I’m a lady pensioner) with no assistance.
It’s very easy to use.
I do find it a bit heavy compared to previous mowers but love that it is cordless and I can’t electrocute myself.
I am used to Bosch mowers that cut very low to ground the lowest cut on this machine is 25 it could do with a little lower cut ! However the job it does is fantastic great battery life and good cut as far as battery mowers goes this has got to be one of the bes
Have been looking for a cordless mowers for a while, having small/medium lawns in front and back gardens (both about 15m by 5m and being fed up of messing about with the cables to get them mowed. Looked at many and finally decided on this one over its 32cm little brother based on battery life, charging time, generally positive reviews and being a good price — got it on offer at 155.
Delivered quickly in retail box, well packaged/protected. Simple to assemble (instructions not that bad, pictures a little on the small side) in around 15 minutes whilst placing battery on charge (was already on 3 lights so didn’t take long to full charge) with all parts fitting correctly. Then inserted the battery and gave both back and front lawns a light trim on the middle setting, no messing with cables, easy to carry and so it only took me about 15/20 minutes. Plenty of charge left on the battery, still showing the 3 lights !
Lawns look great, so will see about giving them a closer shave in the next couple of days. As it is so dry right now I will have to wait to see how it copes with longer/thicker/wetter grass but it seems powerful enough to me.
I am extremely pleased with this purchase. A decent battery life/charge time, adjustable handle height, no cables to worry about – simply no fuss. It also folds down compactly for storage which is better than my old corded mower.
Will have to see how the reliability goes but at present I would happily recommend this cordless mower to anyone looking for one at a reasonable price.
EDIT: 18/06/20
I have now used the mower a few more times. After the recent rain when the grass was much thicker and lush the mower coped fine with this, cutting well and collecting all the cuttings with no loss of power or problems. Still managed to cut both our lawns and have 2 lights left on the battery. See pictures after cutting level 3. Very impressed !
EDIT: 24/10/20
Just given the lawns what might be a last cut. Worked fine, collected all the grass without clogging up even with the grass so wet.
EDIT: 27/03/21
After 5 months in the shed, charged up the battery and the mower worked fine giving our damp lawn the first cut of the year. Battery good and still showed 3 lights when done.
Very easy to put together, good size blade and easy to run (female)
Very pleased with service. Lawn mower is as expected and much better than our previous petrol mower. The only neg comment is
The grass box is not secure enough, it comes off far to easily if you touch it whilst mowing near steps or trees.
Easy to put together, battery came almost fully charged. Was able to cut the lawn (about 130 sq metres) as soon as I’d finished building it.
Very light and easy to use, no issues with collection of clippings, and the battery charging indicator says it’s still fully charged.
First battery mower I’ve had, so far it’s the ideal product for me and great to ditch an electric cable. I’d not heard of the Yardforce Brand and it wasn’t in the March Gardeners World review of battery mowers. At 179 it is good value for a battery mower and features compare well with the models they reviewed.
The battery life is great, did all of my garden 150m2 and most of my dads 100m2 before recharge, and some of that was quite long. It is much lighter than my previous petrol mower, and easy to store. The grass collection box is large and only need emptying once compared to 3 or 4 times.
It feels plasticky and not very robust but does the job in hand – time will tell.
It did struggle with wet grass, clogging up and needed clearing every couple of passes, and with tall grass, although now it’s cut short it whizzes over it.
I cannot comment on reliability etc as I have only had it a few weeks, but so far quite satisfied
Ideal for a small garden, lightweight and no cable to manage. Does a good job, easy height adjustment and gives a nice stripe with the rear roller.
Compared to the other, more expensive makes of cordless lawn mowers, this mower sits up amongst them. My grass has not had so many cuts as I find it so easy to use and clean afterwards also, because it folds quite easy it stores easy
Of all the battery powered lawnmowers I have used before, this wipes the floor with the lot of them. The power and performance this lawnmower gives, for such a lightweight product really surprised me and surpassed all my expectations. Ashamedly I let my grass grow out far too long this summer and only just got round to cutting it, and this lawnmower has made my grass look very very good considering the length. I will lower the cutting height on my next cut, which by the way is a great feature and very easy to move up and down. All round a great product and fits away nicely in my small shed! Would highly recommend this products and will be returning to Yardforce in the future no question!
This was easy to assemble. The battery and charger have clear indicators of readiness to use. Charges quickly.
I gave it a tough task for its first outing, long grass, uneven ground and edges. It coped easily, an even cut, and the roller at the back stops it grounding and shaving the grass. And…its quiet! It folds up and easily pops in the boot/trunk of the car. recommended.
Wonderful machine , easy to use, lightweight. BUT have had trouble with one of the switches the one that is a backup to cut out the motor. A stick has been pushed into it and now everything works fine. It was just too much trouble to return it which I should have done.
I’ve held back on this review because I’ve had some problems and I wanted to see if they could be resolved. Like others I got a couple of good cuts out of it and then had issues with it not starting even though the battery was fully charged. I believe this was due to the plastic “safety key” not fitting properly within its slot and causing cut-out. If I taped it down the mower would go. I spoke to Customer Services who sent me another one although I wasn’t convinced this was going to help.
It’s worth pointing out that while I did have some problems with the delivery of my spare part (received the wrong part once and one delivery went to the wrong house) I had no problems contacting customer services by phone and the people I spoke to were very helpful.
Anyway, following the hot weather and lack of grass growth I’ve been out today and my Yard Force mower is up and running without tape….with the original safety key. Pure speculation but maybe the hot weather had an effect on the plastic key causing it or it’s slot to expand and not fit properly? (Happy to be shot down by anyone with a greater knowledge of how these things work!).
In summary, I think there is a fundamental issue in there but if I can work round it I think I’m happy enough, it cuts well. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to anyone else though.
*2021 Update*
So three years later and I feel the above review does it a bit of a dis-service. I’ve had no problems in subsequent years and I am convinced the issues I had related to the hot conditions and its effect on the plastic safety key. I now keep this separate from the mower, in a cool place (the garage, with the battery) and it has never let me down. I’m therefore upgrading to 4 stars
Very pleased with the mower. It’s light enough to carry and has sufficient adjustment on the rake of the handle to accommodate short and tall users. Plenty of adjustment to the cutting height and seems to give about 40 minutes’ use on one charge.
Absolutely fantastic! Speedy free postage, delivered the next day from ordering on line. Was fed up constanty having to sort out the cable and extension lead on my old electric one whilst mowing up and down. My husbands petrol lawnmower is too heavy for me so a rechargable one seemed the best idea. Although quite expensive, it was worth every penny. Cut my job of mowing the lawn in half. Recharges quickly and I can get on average an hour of use on our one acre of garden. Lightweight and easy to operate. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Only used it once so far but everything seems good with this mower, robust and easy to handle, would definitely recommend it if you have good size lawns
