What a fantastic bit of kit! Had to get my thinking cap on to assemble it, but it really was not hard to build at all. The battery was fully charged so I took it straight out to mow my very long, wet grass. It is a pleasure to mow without an electrical flex to get in the way. It made light work of the lawn on the highest setting with a quarter charge left on the battery. Will give you an update when the grass dries out a bit and I can give it a shorter cu
Undoubtedly the best lawnmower I’ve ever had. Once past the assembly instructions which are a little confusing I can say it is better mower than expected and well made. Having previously owned petrol and electric mowers, this is far superior to all of them. No cables or fumes! It has five cut height settings and is quite easy to handle. I was initially dubious about the battery life but have now cut my 35sq metre lawn three times and the battery is still three parts charged (out of four). Having had a lot of rain recently the grass is growing at an alarming rate so I’m glad the cut is quite efficient and leaves stripes into the bargain! A very satisfied customer!
I can
Honestly, say that this lawnmower has completely surprised me by the quality of the product, and the ease to build and put together, but most of all the strength in the motor. I couldn’t wait to try it out to dry on a damp lawn. I just cut straight through it all very impressed. I previously had a well-known brand in Miller. There was three times the cost and this one is far superior to. You won’t be disappointed.
Wanted to venture into a battery mower without breaking the bank. Had a really old petrol one that was in the way out so after much reading reviews went for this one. Was not disappointed. Simple to assemble (despite limited instructions) left my 11 year old son to do it and was ‘easy’ apparently. Get a couple of cuts out of our medium lawn from single charge (as long as not too long as that shortens mow time). Really simple to use, cuts well and sooooo much lighter than the petrol one. Great little mower that didn’t cost 500
Battery lasts well and I’m able to do front and back lawns in one go. It doesn’t seem to like it if the grass is too high so I do it regularly and that way it’s less of a chore. Bag at the back is a bit temperamental and falls off easily – a bit of a design fault I think.
The mower was quite easy to assemble until it came to the grass box. The instructions should tell you that you have to remove the mulching device before the grass box can be fitted.
This is my first battery lawnmower – very pleased with it, no more electric leads across the lawn, cuts grass really well. If you are wondering about whether to get an battery LM go ahead- they make doing the lawns much more enjoyable and this Yard Force is great.
A bit tricky to assemble but quick. You have to wait a ling time to do the first charging, so be patient. Did our large lawn in two charges but eady to use. A good product.
Really light weight, easy to use and good battery life. Does create lines if that’s what you want, our only slight criticism is it doesn’t cut as short as we had expected from the right up.
As I said a great battery and excellent charging station. So easy to setup and go. Very lightweight compared to my old petrol mower. Not as wide a cutting area but it’s so lightweight and qui k it’s not an issue.
Great mower if you keep on top of the mowing but as soon as it gets a little bit long then it struggles to cut it and cuts out. Otherwise it’s great.
got it for my neighbour he loves it, one thing though after only using it once he found the grass collection bag was frayed around the stitching and had a small hole in it, told him to get onto manufactors and let them know.
Instructions as everyone else has said are terrible but once together it’s a joy. Light , cuts well and I’m very happy with the battery life. Did my 40ft long lawn without running low even.
I was pleasantly surprised on how efficient the mower is. I was looking a petrol mowers but thought I would be eco friendly and go for battery power. Glad I did. Might need another battery as one I feel isn’t good. You need two one charging while other in use. That’s the only negative I have found.
I wish I’d bought a cordless mower years ago, as it’s such a relief not having to worry about extension cables and cutting through the wire. I think I was concerned that it wouldn’t be as powerful as a mains-powered mower, but this one is just as effective as any I’ve had in the past.
The assembly is a bit fiddly, but not too bad. The handle is adjustable for height and can fold down when not in use. There are seven height settings for the actual cutting blade and this is simply done with a lever on the left hand side of the body. Once it’s assembled and the battery is fully charged, it’s operated like most electric mowers by pressing in a button and then pulling a grab handle towards you. I’ve gone from a hover mower to this one which is on wheels and I much prefer the wheeled type: it’s just a case of walking up and down and it gives you stripes on the lawn if that’s what you’re after.
I’ve found the battery life to be very good: I can do both my front and back lawns on one charge if the grass is not too long – I’m not sure what the area is, but it’s been going for about 45 minutes and still has some charge left. You can tell how much charge is left by pressing a small button on the battery and up to four green lights come on. I invested in a spare battery, so that there’s always one ready to go, but the batteries are a bit pricey, so it’s up to the individual and how much grass they’ve got to cut. Changing the battery is really simple: just lift up the flap on the battery compartment, press the release button and the battery pops up a little way out of its housing. It then fits into the mains charger which is provided. Once it’s charged, just slide it back in and press until it clicks into place.
There is a decent sized grass box which lifts on and off, or a mulching tool is provided if you don’t want to keep emptying the box. I have never used this, so I can’t say how well it works.
It’s quite a substantial machine, not the lightest, but there is a carrying handle. It’s great on the flat and with slight slopes, as long as you cut across the slope and not up and down.
All in all, I’m delighted with the mower and would recommend it for anybody with a small to medium-sized lawn.
We have a large lawn so 37cm blade or next one up needed.
The Bosch 37cm mains unit is a heavier mower and slightly more difficult to turn around.
I am now using the Yard Force, but also purchased a 4Ah hour battery.
This is used in our garden and my mothers.
So for those interested in battery times: the 2.5 Ah battery will run for 30 minutes being brand new!
I can cut 200 square meters in that time. Hence we needed a larger 4Ah batt which goes the distance for about 1 hour or 400 Sq Metres.
We noted some comments about battery power:
Li Ion batteries loose about 1% of their charge with each passing year.
If th emower cuts out, thi sis becasue one of the cells has dropped below its recommended volatge.
Do not keep trying to get it to run or you will destroy the battery. Recharge it!!
Don’t leave the battery fully charged when not in use for long periods of several month.
Do you own homework on Li Ion degredation and properties.
Only 1 negative:
I am much more familiar with LiFePo4 batteries for running the home over night (solar set up here).
Wish they would all switch to LifePO4’s for power tools. So much safer.
Overall:- Totally in love with this Yard Force mower and its 40v power level in our garden.
This lawn mower is very quiet and also cuts the grass amazingly to what height you like it I cut on 2nd setting I do think the lawn mower is quite heavy but I am okay with that but it will probably be no good for someone that can’t lift but apart from that I am very happy with it battery is enough to cut my front and back no problem on 1st full charge
I don’t normally write reviews for anything I purchase online but after having had a bit of a nightmare with my previous lawn mower, I felt compelled to share my experience using this brilliant piece of kit.
Firstly, it’s true what others say; the ambiguity of the instructions make it a bit a of a head scratch at points when it comes to installation. That however is my only criticism.
The cut is really consistent and the mower is also really easy to manoeuvre. I have a small lawn but I can see how this would be really useful on a bigger one.
The action on the cut height is really easy and smooth to use. The mower itself is really strong, looks great and the grass collector is generous in size. It is also easy to attach / detach. I have already attracted lawn mower envy from a couple of my neighbours!
As a customer profile of having wrestled with a basic Flymo (which was actually wrecking my grass with every cut), I went for this because I wanted a solid mower that was a) cordless and b) up to the job of handling dips. I just wish I’d bought this the first time around.
Was a bit sceptical about the battery life after reading some reviews, but as most were positive, I got one. So glad I did. Assembly was easy, 10 mins max. The mower is easy to use, lightweight to manoeuvre, the battery life is is excellent. You can see the size of our garden and 4 cuts and the battery is still over half. The battery indicator button is really useful.
Most mowers in this price range do not include a roller, which I wanted as my last Bosch one did.
Build quality seems high, assembly instructions were not 100% but is was pretty easy to work out.
In summary, a great mower, easy to use, good battery life and great value for money. 5 stars..
I am really impressed so far with this lawnmower and how it performs. To be fair I have a smallish lawn ( 200 m2) so I am not pushing its capacity. It is replacing a corded qualcast mower that was good, but was getting on a bit. This new mower feels solid but not heavy and the height adjustment is very easy to use. The cut is great and the roller does give a stripped effect ( but is never going to be as effective as a heavy petrol mower ). The collection box works effectively, ( I normally have two box empties to do each time).
The initial mow I did at a high setting and then did another at a lower setting. Subsequent mows have been at a low (but not lowest) setting. After a mow the battery is still showing 3 bars.
So why not 5 stars ? Well it should be, the supplier has let themselves down on one thing, that is easily corrected. Whilst there is not much to do to set the machine up , the diagrammatic instructions are confusing and the diagrams so small they are not much help. I am still not sure I have set up the cables correctly but it seems to work. I fortunately spotted the mulch device when I was fitting the collection box, this isn’t even mentioned or shown in the instructions!
The strangest thing is Yardforce have almost overcome this deficiency but not quite !!! On the box there is a QR code that appears to take you to a set up YouTube video. If it did that would be great (5 stars), and you could ignore the diagrammatic instructions. The reality is it takes you to a general advertising video (one I had already found on YouTube).
Yardforce; just change the video and this would be an excellent purchase !!
I’ve only used this mower once but I love it – it’s so easy to use . I can’t really comment on the battery as it’s still brand new but I used it for about 30 minutes and there was loads of power left I understand you should charge this type of battery and not let it run down I’m very happy with my purchase and it’s cut my lawn beautifully will very little effort.
My first battery powered mower and have to say its brilliant. This mower is lightweight easy to use and cuts the grass great. Only used 25% of the battery for my two lawns. Would recommend this mower and the the price is great too for the job it does. Dpd delivered it and the driver was very helpful and polite. The assembly is not not rocket science but the instructions could be alot better. Thanx yardforce for an affordable mower that works great.
Extremely pleased with my mower, it is robust and very easy to assemble including the grass box. Only have a small lawn (less than 100sq metres) , the battery easily copes with the cut and it is very quick to recharge. A good cut that took a lot less time than my old electric mower with a lead and so much lighter.. Overall very satisfied with the product, feel that the mower should last a number of years.
Nice build quality and feels sturdy- more so than a recent Flymo electric mower I used. Had some problems with registering the warrantee but the support line were very responsive and helpful which bodes well if any other issues arise. The battery is chunky and solid- the charger is quite large. But all good so far- I’ll update in the spring time when I start to use it regularly.
Update- I’ve used it today. Quiet and a smooth cut- plenty of juice for a medium sized garden- very pleased!
The lowest setting isn’t really that low and the roller doesn’t really stripe the lawn, apart from that it’s great.
Excellent cordless lawn mower, light weight, I’ve used it only about 4/5 times and gets really close to edge. And a good size grass bucket.
Really good product, folds up nicely very easy to assemble and the mowing itself is excellent. 5 stars, would recommend to anyone.
Nice mower battery seems to last plus its quick to charge. its cutting hight is easy to adjust with leve
Having previously had a large garden and a petrol mower, my very much reduced grass area decided on a smaller machine. This one is very light and easy to maneuver around the small grass area we now have. It seems like a toy compared to the petrol ones previously used. As other reviewers have stated does not cut the grass as low as I would prefer. The battery lasted for 2 cuts which was reasonable.
