Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExcelente calidad en el color piedra.

First of all they fit a tad small, I'm always a 34 waist and these are a bit snug, elastic waistband helps though and they're still comfortable. Secondly, I'm athletic with muscular legs and for a tactical cargo these aren't all that roomy in the thigh, add anything in the cargo pocket and they really tighten up in the legs. Really roomy through the seat, no concerns for a blow out of the crotch seam, 34 length is perfect with combat boots and the pocket layout is great, along with the teflon coating. Over all a great pant, if you plan to use them as an actual combat or duty wear pant make sure you upsize them and also be aware the cargo pockets are on the smaller side and single magazine pocket only on the left thigh.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSolid, sturdy cargo points without the bulbulous pockets typically at what you would find at a tradition jeans store (Kohls, Gap) Pockets are all nicely cut, I really like the rear pockets which are diagonal, but deep, even without the velcro tab to close, your wallet sits low enough you never have to worry about pickpockets. These are definitely 3 season pants. If you live someplace with hot and / or humid conditions (I'd say anything over 75 - 80 degrees, these won't be a comfortable. 5.11 has a style call TT Pro Pants Lite, which are much better for warm conditions. I was fortunate there is a 5.11 not to far, and I was able to try on a few pairs to get the feel and size right. If you're borderline, go up 1 size. I'm at 38 - 40 and the 40's fit perfect. If I could have 2 improvements, I'd wish 5.11 would have included a pen pocket or two on the leg and a larger pocket for holding a phone. Unless you your current phone is pre-smart phone, the pocket will be too small for most phones

These pants are great. They are a little bit heavier than I expected but not a huge issue as they are of great quality and construction. The fitment isn't perfect but I expected that and will likely be better after a few washes.

    Very durable, good quality pants
I’ve had these for years, I wear them to work and they are durable. No rips, no seams broken, no loose threads. They have a lot of usable pockets although the back pockets are too deep so when I sit down, it’s annoying.
If they ever get worn, I’d buy them agai

Great pants, lots of pockets, solid construction. Repels liquids surprisingly well and decently breathable considering they're pretty heavy-duty. Definitely worth getting the kneepads that go with them, makes a huge difference if you're gonna be kneeling.

Bought a pair of Coyote Brown back in the days (3-4 years ago) and they are still top shape even if I used them a lot in shooting competition, wood hiking, camping, etc... Really worth their price. Finally bought them also in black! :)

I love these pants, I own a pair of Battle Brown and just purchased the Black. Have yet to find better pants than these, especially when they go on sale for $50 – $60.

Been wearing the Battle Brown ones for over a year and with daily use of my flashlight and multi-tool, I have noticed very little wear on the pants from sliding the belt clip on and off. Only hole do far is in the left hand pocket where I keep my flashlight and that is easy enough to fix, plus I think I made it by pushing the flashlight in at the wrong angle so it was pushing into the fabric and not following it down into the pocket.

Best part of these pants are the low profile cargo pockets, other pants seem to have very large ones that stick out as if they are stuffed, these are slim and help to keep the tactical look down and help look more professional so you can wear them daily without standing out in a crowd.

I would like to see a convertible pair made or one that can be rolled up for warmer days cause it seems impossible to get a pair of Battle Brown shorts on Amazon in my size.

    Cut is big/relaxed.
Cut is big/relaxed. Very roomy, extremely relaxed fit. Could have/should have gone one size smaller in waist. Comfortable but not exactly what I was expecting. Ordered for a plain clothes street detail. But fit & style really don’t fit the job requirements.

For price I paid (70% off list) will probably keep for around the house, yard work, etc.

Seem well made (especially in light of the price I paid). Would order again if the price is right.

    Really useful versatile trousers.
Light weight so good in hot weather. Rip stop and fast drying.
Smart enough to wear out shopping and resilient enough to use outdoors or operationally.
Lots of useful pockets and very durable.
You can add draw strings around the bottom of the legs by threading string through the pre made holes there.
The weird webbing strap at the back pocket is actually surprisingly useful for hanging things off.

These are REALLY comfortable! I use them as house clothes…they’re that comfortable. However, the build quality is pants! The first pair I ordered, the metal loop above the right hand side pocket fell off. There are random bits of stitching coming off both pairs. Wouldn’t buy again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI'm a woman with stout, hourglass figure. Big thighs, big bum, relatively trim waist, big shoulders, big arms. Women's size ~14. Very tomboy. High waisted pants with a wide leg work best for me both in my personal and professional lives, but that is not the fashion these days and they are hard to find. I generally have my work clothes tailored, and I have a few pair of weekend jeans that fit well enough. However, I'm both active and clumsy and my jeans tend to get holes quickly -- $70 bucks down the drain. In my search for more robust weekend pants, I came across these. Other ladies with a similar build have said they fit well, and I want to echo that. There is plenty of room for the junk in my trunk, but the elasticized waist means they tuck in nicely around my middle. Because they are relaxed through the seat and thigh there is no obvious "package" bulge, like there can be with mens jeans. The material feels very durable, and I like all of the pockets. Not especially feminine, but certainly comfortable for weekend errands and chores. Looking forward to taking them travelling next month.

Review for Stryke pants, after a mix up!
Due to a mix up with stock levels, the advertised trousers were not available in my size. I received an email within an hour from the seller to advise. I was offered a full refund or an upgrade to the stryke pants. I took the upgrade and I’m so happy I did. Brilliant customer services and I’m really happy with the stryke pants. They fit a little large, I’m normally around a 33 inch and ordered 34. Having said that they are so comfortable and exactly what I needed for work. Thanks again Polmil.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy husband has four pairs of these pants. He is a commercial truck salesman so he needs to look nice, but, he is also visiting customers work sites, walking around the truck lot, prepping vehicles for delivery etc. Typical khaki pants or dress pants wouldn't stand a chance. He really likes the durability, comfort, look and the multiple pockets in these pants. They wash up great and I hang them to dry...no ironing - yay! I actually had to discourage him from buying every color option available. Two of the pairs he has had for quite awhile and there has been zero fading in the color. Yes, these are considered tactical pants and he does wear them when he goes shooting too, it was the reason he bought them in the first place. He just found them to be such great pants that he prefers them over others. He is 6'4 and 210lbs. He bought the 36-34L and they fit perfectly. I asked him if he would recommend them to others and his reply was "hell yes" They have these for woman also and I have two pair. I wear them for shooting and hiking in the fall...they really are great pants! You can't beat the price on Amazon either.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAll of my blue jeans have gone the way of the dinosaurs...extinct! I wear nothing but tactical cargo pants now and the VAST majority are 5.11 TacLite poly blend or their 100% cotton pant brothers. The poly blend pant is great for hot, southern late spring and summer months and the cotton pant does late fall and winter duty. I wear them as casual dress and outdoor work attire, and the heavier cotton pant also doubles as hunting attire when in a fully enclosed blind or shoot house, as they are baggy enough and with the elasticized waist, allow UA or Duofold thermal wear without binding in the knee or butt or feeling too tight in the waist. I haven't noticed much of any fading on the TacLites but of course since the cotton pant stains easier and holds dirt and grime more than the poly blend TacLites, they are being washed differently and have faded a bit in the darker colors. Some of the pants are over four years old now and the only wear I have noticed is on the bottom hem at the heel from dragging the ground. Great gear, and well worth the price given how long they last, and the fit and finish.

Gi ordinati altri pantaloni uguali! Consigliatissimo.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFattura eccezionale, veste strano.

I work in the water utility’s industry construction/repair, these trousers are great they don’t hold water it runs off them, dried mud just brushes with a palm, secure pockets for car or digger keys and phone and easy to climb ladders etc lots of ball room. This winter I have put thin cotton pagama bottoms on underneath, I have never been so comfortable warm and dry.

They fit as expected and are quite comfortable. The pockets on the thighs are a little low to access comfortably while standing but while seated they're fine. The smaller pocket on the left thigh is a bit small to hold a larger mobile phone but a smaller flip phone might fit ok. The rear slash style pockets are nice and deep, as well as being easy to access. The velcro on the rear pockets can be bothersome but it does the job of keeping the pockets closed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWork, Rest or Play, These Are Great Pants
I was looking for cargo pants and stumbled on the 5.11s. I must say that I am very impressed with the utility and durability of 5.11s in general though the TacLite seems to work better for me. Most corporations have adopted a business casual attire policy. If you can find pants that you can wash at home that bear up well after many washings, it will help keep household expenses down. Because I have no problem getting the dirty work done, I need pants that both look professional in the office but won’t easily be torn up. The problem I have been having is that after six months, of weekly or bi-weekly washing, other pants get a faded look and need to be retired from office use. The 5.11 TacLites, so far have put up with my rough use and still look professional. As an added bonus, the extra pockets allow me to carry keys, wallet, tools and various pieces of technology with out the bulgy look or discomfort of crammed pockets or sitting on a wallet.

Value to me as a customer is a function of utility, durability and cost. 5.11 TacLites are a great value.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersPraktisch & Gu

I own 4 pairs now, they are very comfy. The green color ones are particularly nice looking and don't show any cat or dog hair like the black ones will. Order your jean size for a good fit that's not baggy and looks more professional day to day, If you want the use them for camping or hunting maybe go one size larger for a little more room to bend around and move freely

These pants are very durable. I use them for work [I'm a tradesman] and I also take them out paintballing. They clean well in the first 6-12 months and after that they don't repell water as well but they still hold up to abuse.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI took these pants for their first test this past week climbing Mt. Adams in WA in one day. Starting at 2:00am, the temperature varied on the hike between 35 and 92 degrees. My legs never felt cold nor particularly hot the whole time. I slid more than 2 miles on glissade routes without any additional protection and the pants did not even show abrasions, let alone a hole or a tare. My wallet and phone were secure the entire 14 hour hike and did not get wet in the snow. Additionally, it should be noted, that while sitting on the snow for more than 2 miles, if the pants got wet, they dried almost immediately, but it seemed to me that they were essentially waterproof. Though they have the feeling of heavy duty hiking pants, they are extremely resistant to water and were a pleasure to continue hiking with even after sliding in the snow. The loose fit made for a very comfortable up hill climb for 10 hours. I never wished I had opted for my Kuhl or Colombia hiking pants, these heavy duty hiking pants exceeded all my expectations and outperformed in hot weather, cold weather, snow, and dust. If my current pair ever wears out, I will be buying another! Excellent product.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersReally good warm weather tactical pants.
These are my favorite summertime pants. I think they breath quite well. It’s been near 100 for the majority of this month with a heat index around 118 each day. These are my go to pants for summer. I have been wearing them for the last five years and love them. They are both tough and durable. They are stitched very well. After years of use the Velcro, snaps and zippers still work perfectly. As far as fit goes I feel they are perfect. I normally wear a 36X36 and that’s what I wear in these. They move very well and don’t bind. I have even ran 5k in them with no problems.

There are only two minor cons to these pants

One the color is closer to sand than khaki. It’s not a big deal and I wouldn’t mark down a product for it. The other miner issue and it’s not an issue for me but I wanted to point it out. These are not winter pants. They are far to cool when it gets around freezing temps. At that point I wear Stryke Pants which are essentially a slightly warmer more khaki version of these pants. These pants are purpose built. Bottom line these pants have met all my expectations over time!

    Pantalon "Pro" mais "vaste"
    Bonjour,
Le rapport qualit prix me semble trs bon.

Fantastic pants. Very comfortable and look very durable and very well made. The fit is perfect.
I am more of W33 L30 and got W32 L30. The waist is a little stretchy so it will easily fit slightly larger waist sizes.
The material does not look very breathable, so may be a little uncomfortable in hot environments, however I did not have a chance to confirm it.

update: I’ve used these now almost 2 months, travelling, camping, city, it seems that dirt (coffee and so on) washes out easily. I spilled coffee to trousers and it was easy to clean with paper. 100% cotton, not ripstop as Pro-pants are but these are good in hot weathe

I now have two pairs of these, 30/30 (yeah, I am a cube!), from the UK and from the USA, and they are identical in terms of sizing and construction quality. They are great to work in, and even better for travel. The 9mm clip pocket is just also the same size as an iPhone 5. They are comfy and reasonably tough… wouldn’t wear them on a building site, though.

Nice pants, fits true to my jeans size. If you buy them 1 size bigger I find the crotch is quite baggy. So if you want them to fit and look more professional buy your jean size. Back pockets are the only negative. The slash cut is interesting looking, but they are so deep it's uncomfortable to carry a wallet it will be half way down the back of your leg!

Sturdy, strong, loose fitting and plenty of pockets. These are very comfortable trousers for every day wear and the pockets are in the right places. I simply can’t fault them – I bought one pair to try them out and I intend to buy more pairs in different colours.

The material is neat and tidy yet hard wearing. They can be worn to work or if you’re just out for the day. I’m very pleased with my purchase and will definitely buy again.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersGood pants, wish they were Slimmer (Note on sizing)
These pants have all the pockets you need. I want to clarify that YES, these pants have pockets for knee pad inserts. 5.11 describes these pants as knee-pad ready but doesn’t say much more than that. Knee-pad ready in some cases simply means extra-reinforcing for an external knee pad. You need to look close on the inside since the hole for the neoprene pads is small and I missed it the first time I checked.

There are also holes for blousing strings at the ankles (strings not included), but not way to tighten the knees. I’m currently using tru-spec knee pads which don’t stay in place all that great since they are smaller than the 5.11 pads. There are no extra straps in the knee pocket to keep smaller pads in-place.

In regards to SIZING: I read all over the internet people with different opinions on sizing. Some people say they are small, some people say they are large. Some people complain they are tight because of the elastic waist. Using a soft tape measure, my waist measures between 31.5″ on average which usually places me in-between a small and medium for combat pants. I tend to opt for smaller sizes. With these pants the size indicated does not include the stretchy-ness of the elastic; that is to say, a size 30 will still stretch about 2″ total. Measure your actual waist size and round down when selecting a size.

Personally, I found the pants to be more baggy than the images and reviews makes them out to be. Maybe it’s because I’m a slightly smaller than average guy, or maybe its because of the gusseted crotch, but I wish they were slimmer. My preferred every-day pants are Levis 501, 505 or 504s. These do not fit like my Levis, there is a lot of spare material around my leg that I wish I could sinch-down. I also wish the distance between the waist band and the crotch was shorter. I find the crotch is a lot lower than it should be which limits my movement unless I hike up the waistband. Overall I could do with less material, while still maintaining 100% freedom of movement.

    Good Ki
I have been wearing 5.11 trousers for a number of years. I like the cargo style as I carry a lot of stuff in my pockets and plenty of pockets mean the kit can be spread across more pockets leading to no unsightly bulges. I have these trousers made in two different materials: Teclite and cotton. Teclite is better for me as the rain tends to run off them even after 20 plus washes, so it must be something about the material rather than a coating, which usually are washed out within a few washes. The other attraction is that these trousers are so tough. They will last for years and still look good. This is my 6th pair and I have a 7th on order, which speaks volumes. They also come in a wide range of colours, hence why I am moving away from black to lighter shades.

I’ve had taclite pro for years as I work in the Private Security business.. This new design is even better than before.. There are enough pockets without going over the top.. The durability is second to non and very light weight.. The size did come up a little bigger than I’d have liked I’ve had 42″ waist and leg before for just a little added movement in them and found the seat was a little bigger than I expected so order to exact size specs.. I’ll definitely be buying these again.. Very smart durable and suits my every need for a good all round year trouser.. Ideal for hot environments.

I brought my first pair of 5.11 pants back in 2010, when I was working in Iraq. I wore them for my work as a generator mechanic and they never let me down once. Excellent product and i would strongly recommend them.

Iv been wearing these for the past 5 years. They hold up nice to the everyday wear and tear of police-work but I find that even if you follow the washing directions to the tee, the color starts to fade after about a year or so. I still have the original pair I ordered 5 years ago but they're much too faded to wear on patrol so I use them around the house to cut the grass or do home repairs. On another note, the last two pair I ordered fit looser in the crotch area and are longer as well. They're still made in Vietnam so I'm not sure why they fit bigger. I'm convinced the pants are mislabeled. In any event, if you plan on wearing these with a gun belt, keep in mind that when you put on your gun belt, the weight of the belt will lower the length of your pants so if you don't want that sloppy look, go down a size or two in length. I usually wear a 34 length, and got a 32 length.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBest combats ever!
I’ve had cotton 5.11s for years and they are still going strong (although somewhat faded).

I’d bought another brand poly/cotton combats for hiking and was very pleased with them and wanted another pair or two, and thought I’d give this version of my cotton 5.11s a whirl.

These are really great. Perfect for hot days and rainy days, as they are both ‘lite’ and dry quickly. With leggings underneath they make excellent winter hiking trousers. There is a good range of pockets. The phone pocket is much bigger now than it used to be, but is probably a little behind size wise for most smartphones these days, but there are plenty of other places to put a phone.

They are comfortable, and if anything like their cotton cousins, will be very durable.

Long may they continue to be made.

    Great pants, not-so-great price
This makes the second time I have purchased a pair of TacLite Pro pants, and the first time I’ve bought them from Amazon. They’re great for my work as a self-employed delivery driver. They look sort of official, but are comfortable and durable. They’ve held up well to multiple washes, resist stains and repel water to a limited extent. The number and location of the pockets are great, but seven belt loops is overkill. The cotton-polyester blend isn’t as comfortable as 100% cotton cargo pants (e.g., Magellan brand), but, for my purposes, their better longevity and water resistance outweigh that concern. Their light weight is suitable for moderate temperatures; I prefer shorts in hot weather and something heavier when it’s below freezing outside.

My Amazon purchasing experience gets a top rating — my package arrived exactly as expected.

These pants would rate a solid five stars if they didn’t cost so much! The best price I can ever find, online or locally, is north of $40, and I’m not sure they’re worth it. But then, if I could find better pants for the money, I’d have bought those instead…

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersSuper pantalon !

    Quant la longueur :
    1m75 ou moins = 30
    1m80 = 32
    1m85 = 34
    1m90 ou plus = 36

I was looking for a comfortable set of pants for outdoor activities and day-trips so I purchased BOTH the 5.11 TacLite and the Blackhawk lightweight tactical pants to compare. Overall, BOTH brands make solid products and if I ever was to be in a situation where I would have to spend several days in a row outdoors, these would probably be what I'd like to wear. They are the equivalent of the swiss army knife of pants. I feel Blackhawk's are a bit better made, have more zippers to the pockets, the cloth feels a bit heavier and they are roomier but these may very well be my personal impressions. My issue with BOTH, is that the cotton content is fairly low, so you end up with pants that feel more like a windbreaker or snow pants than jeans. There is just nothing that beats the comfort of 100% cotton pants. I realize that at the end of the day, I will be back in my comfy home and can change out of my wet and dirty pants. I am not doing into combat, and that is what these are made for.

First, the fit: despite being nice and baggy, BDU style, the waist and inseam are surprisingly precise (even given the side elastic in the waistband) and tailored. These are exactly what I wanted: a lightweight version of BDU's (with a zip fly, not buttons!) in real ripstop, with plenty of pockets (back, front, cargo, and a cellphone pocket (an iPhone 5s fits perfectly, an iPhone 6 probably would too, but larger smartphones would not) on one upper thigh, with a spacious mag pouch on the other (that's where a larger smartphone, within reason, would fit)). All pockets except the cellphone pocket close with ample Velcro; the rear pockets are slash style for easy access. There is a very convenient D ring for a flashlight, key ring, carabiners or ID tag, built into the right front waistband, below the generous belt loops, and a mysterious, thick webbing strap across the right rear slash pocket; I've seen various speculation about its purpose, that's not where you'd want a drag handle, it would be useless if you're lying on that side. Best bet is that it's for hanging oversize gear, like hearing protectors. These are truly the "Swiss Army Knife" of pants, yet are refined enough for casual wear. Every seam appears to be triple stitched and in every crucial spot there are additional thick reinforcing tabs. I've got to be honest here, these are the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. The features built into these are just astounding, and more importantly they don't have anything that doesn't make sense. My favorite features have to be the external knife pocket, cell phone pocket, and stretch-fit waistband. The knife pocket's upper edge has a semi-rigid insert sewn in to stand up do a knife clip and it also makes it extremely fast and east to store and deploy your knife. The waistband makes the pants so easy to wear you almost feel like you're wearing sweat pants, but they stay firmly in place all day long with ease. Sizing was spot on for what I needed, and the color in the photograph does a a pretty fair job of showing the true color of the pants. Mine were only slightly darker than the photo, but that was okay because I knew the Coyote Brown would be significantly darker than traditional khaki or tan. The cargo pockets offer ample storage and the gusseted crotch makes for an extremely wide range of movement with no discomfort at all. I could run an obstacle course in these things and not feel restricted. All in all, 5/5 stars and I will DEFINITELY be ordering more for work wear, because they are extremely professional looking.
I’ve got to be honest here, these are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever owned. The features built into these are just astounding, and more importantly they don’t have anything that doesn’t make sense. My favorite features have to be the external knife pocket, cell phone pocket, and stretch-fit waistband. The knife pocket’s upper edge has a semi-rigid insert sewn in to stand up do a knife clip and it also makes it extremely fast and east to store and deploy your knife. Solid pants for cool temps
I wish I could give a 4.5 star rating because these are *almost* perfect.

I bought these pants because I recently obtained my concealed carry permit and wanted a way to keep a pocket holster and a spare magazine on my person with minimal fuss. These pants have fit the bill perfectly. Whether in the great outdoors or in the concrete jungle, these pants are practical, durable, and look sharp.

    Pros:

    -Nice deep pockets all around
-Pocket knife area is perfectly designed
    -Durable rip-stop material
    -Comfortable, loose fit
    -Nice wide belt loops
-Both snap and button fasteners for waist
-Professional enough to wear in office setting
    -Low profile

    Cons:

    -Swishing sound when you walk
    -Terrible at venting heat/moisture

I purchased these in both Khaki and Green, and for some reason (unbeknownst to me) the green pair just feels more comfortable. I especially like the black pocket lining on the green pair over the white for the khaki.

Also, as mentioned above, *do not* wear these for extended time periods in hot outdoor settings, as you will roast your legs off in no time. That’s the only reason I had to take a star.

    -MK

    Top trousers from 5.11
Now on my third pair of these trousers- the first set bought in 2012 are still going strong. These are really well designed and put together utility cargo trousers, a good range of subdued colours, lots of well placed pockets and other cute additional features (for example the hidden knee pad pockets – just use cut up foam camping mats rather than get the Gucci 5.11 inserts).
Well worth the money and super fast delivery as a nice bonus. Recommended!

    I really like 5.11 gear.
I’m a bit of a prepper by self admittance. I like to be prepared for really anything. I don’t follow the stigma of most people on the Doomsday prepper show that all think that their specific apocalypse is going to test humanity. I believe in looking at the majority of things that can go wrong and preparing for all of the things in common. That way no matter what happens you should have most of it covered. That’s where these pants come in. They’re great for all occassions from going out to a casual dinner, to orienteering with friends, to full out battle in the trenches. I’ve done 3 tours in the middle east during desert storm and shield. I wish I had these then! I like how the rear pockets taper down so I can have my knife in my pocket without sitting on it. CArgo pockets on the sides give plenty of room for randoms. I love the extra material over the knees so that hit the ground without hitting skin. The belt loops are sized out enough to cater to a riggers belt. The elastic at the top ensures a snug fit at all times.
I have several pairs now and love them all. Pretty much all I wear. These are made by Royal Ribbons. Look them up. They make other high end clothing as well.

Have not used them yet but had a pair previously and they are good utility pants, which is why I bought a second pair.

Everybody needs a pair of tactical trousers!
I bought a pair of 5.11 Taclite Pro Combat Pants Tactical Patrol Cargos Mens Trousers Ripstop Black for work and was so impressed that I ended up buying a pair of these for leisure wear.

They’re great for pottering around at home and days out – plenty of pockets for phones and all sorts.

They are comfortable to wear and really hard wearing, quite possibly the perfect pair of trousers!

I have since discovered that 5.11 also make tactical shorts and have ordered a pair of them!

    Love these pants!
I’ll just start out by saying I’m not military or law enforcement, I’m in engineering/construction so I was looking for a nice comfortable pant that will be durable enough to wear on a construction site or just around town and I really liked all the pockets it has for holding my phone and other tools. Sizing was perfect I’m a 34″ in jeans and these fit the same, not sure why some reviews were complaining the sizing was way off maybe they were in denial of their weight. When I got these I decided to bring them with me on my trip to europe b/c they were much lighter and fit in my bag better than jeans, I’m glad I did I ended up wearing these almost every day instead of jeans b/c they were more comfy and not nearly as hot. The best part about these is they would be perfect for backpacking, I did my laundry in the sink as we jumped from place to place and these pants would be dry about 12 hours later with no wrinkles. They look professional enough to wear to work but you don’t look like one of those doomsday prepper survivalists either. Not sure what the canvas strap is for on the back pocket seems pretty useless and I could live without that but that would be my only complaint.
Update: 6 months later these pants still look and feel new these should last me years.

    Hiking and Backpacking
My Levi’s weren’t getting it done. I needed something light-weight and fast drying with lots o’ pockets. The TacLite Pro was the answer.
I looked around, Mountain Hardware etc., but their pants were in the 70-80 dollar range. The TacLite Pros were only $50.
Sizing was perfect. I wear a 30-32 in Levi’s so that’s what I ordered with these. Fit like a charm. They’re baggy in the crotch on purpose to give you more maneuverability. Great for scrambling over rocks and boulders. I ordered the 1.5″ belt also but it hasn’t been delivered yet. Pant’s fit so well I didn’t need it anyway.
I washed them one time thus far and they are still very water-repellant ‘tho I think that will wear off in time. I went sloshing thru creeks and snow this past weekend and they never got wet.
    The knees are reinforced. Smart.
The 65/35 poly/cotton blend makes for a light breathable pant. I hiked in 4 miles with a 50+ lbs pack, sweating like crazy. They wicked away the moisture, no problem.
And the pockets! Lord have mercy! They’re everywhere. Cargo pockets, cell-phone pocket, knife/multi-tool pocket not to mention the two in front and back like standard pants. The back pockets are slanted like rock-climbing pants and have a velcro clasp (which I’m not really fond of) but if you’re upside down, hanging from a tree…your wallet will stay there.

So yeah, these pants rock the forest. I believe I’ll be buying more.

I bought these to wear while competing in dynamic shooting competitions e.g. we run around, kneel and grovel about in the dirt a lot!

They are comfortable well priced at 10 less than list, which pays for my seamstress to turn up the legs.
They wash well and have a ton of pockets and will be hard wearing no doubt.
I liked them so much I bought two pairs both delivered within a couple of days with free postage.

I’ve lost count of the number of 5.11 trousers I have bought. I’ve been buying them since the 1980’s when they were known as Royal Robbins. In fact I still have a couple of “survivors” from the old days. The new polly-cotton blend we have now is far lighter and much more practical than the old 100% cotton. It is easy-care! Great for travel since it is easy to hand-wash and dries far quicker than cotton. I’ve been using 5.11 clothing for about 3 decades now and I am impressed by the standard of quality. I highly recommend this product to anyone leading an outdoor or “nomadic lifestyle”.

I’m not one to rave about a product, but I will give credit where it is due. As a former active duty Marine and now working for a gov contractor, I have always found this style of trousers perfect for work in the field. I have always bought military BDU style trousers for work and play, and I am lucky if I get six months of wear out of them. These 5.11 #74273 Men’s TacLite Pro Pant are incredibly durable and extremely comfortable after about three wash cycles. I wish I had these thirty years ago. I would probably still be wearing the old ones today. As mentioned in previous comments, order the waist size one size smaller than your usual trouser size. I wear a 40″ waist but ordered the 38″ waist size. They fit like a dream. I’m also 6’4″ with a 38″ inseam, but I took a chance and ordered the 36″ inseam, which was the longest available. 36″ was more than long enough on these and does not ride up over my boot tops even when sitting or kneeling. They also have not shrunk even after numerous wash and dry cycles. For those of you who speak Marine, these trousers do not have draw strings in the leg cuffs like milspec BDU’s do, but I use boot blouses to blouse my trousers when needed and the legs are long enough that they don’t come over the top of the boot. I can’t say enough good things about these trousers. Buy them!
Hint to 5.11 Tactical: Too bad they don’t come in cammy patterns…

I use to buy the old 5.11 cotton canvas trousers at one time. I’ve now switched to the taclites, and I have certainly not regretted my decision. These taclites have the advantage of being “easy care” and of also being a lot lighter than the pure cotton ones. They are fade resistant, don’t need ironing (if hung up properly), and dry a lot quicker than the cotton ones. They are ideal for the outdoors and for “rough travel”. I shall certainly be buying more of these taclites in the future. However, a word of warning: If you are doing “controlled burnings” (bonfires), like I often do _ ALWAYS WEAR COTTON (much safer!)

5.11 Tactlite pro pants - the best tactical pants out there, period
Well built and will serve me well. I’m typically a 32×32 in jeans but found these just a little long, and with the expandable waist I’m going to be getting 32,30 in future pairs. Solid and functional. Highly recommended. These pants are very well made and fit very well.

I was unsure about the expandable waist line but it turns that this feature is a real plus for comfort. The option to install knee pads is a real plus as well. It seems the slots the optional pads go in could be made a bit more exacting to the pads themselves but it sure beats external pads. So much storage in these pants that you are bound to lose something in them. Plenty of room for clips, notepads, writing intruments, folding knife, etc.

Intelligent Armour do a great deal on these here in the UK so go and get a pair, you won’t be disappointed.

“Taclites 5.11” are ideal “rough travel” and “action” trousers. They are “easy-care”: stain, resistant, fade resistant, dry out quickly, don’t need ironing and to some extent “shower proof”. They are ideal for the outdoors. You have plenty of deep pockets to keep your essential items at hand. The elasticized waist is very comfortable and doesn’t cut into your belly like some trousers. The gusseted crotch allows you to squat and crouch in comfort _ which is important for C.Q.C. activities and camping! The only drawback: you cant stand too close to the camp-fire without getting your legs cooked. For “bonfire nights” I would stick to cotton. For the tropics, I would also recommend cotton.
    Well worth buying!

After spending many years trying to find some decent quality combats for work, I think the search is finally over. It is very difficult to find longer lengths in this type of trouser, and when you do the measurements are incorrect or they shrink after a few washes ! These trousers however are spot on with the sizes and they are available in a wide variety of sizes. They are also the best quality I have ever seen and when you wash them they come out looking like new !! The only slight criticism I have is that the pockets for mobile phones need updating to accommodate the new smartphone technology i.e. make them bigger, but that’s it. Otherwise highly recommended !!
