I really like the quality of this product. I think the teal challenge in rolls of fencing wire is the rolling process. They seem to have got this more or less correct with very few kinks. The ends of the roll are turned over reasonably neatly. Handling the fence is therefore straightforward. The links are consistent as are the holes. Fine product packaged well.

Really hard to say as product arrived nd as per usual amazon expect a review instantly, purchased for a garden project which I have not completed yet so here’s my view and not amazon’s, item seems sturdy. Compared to others, metal fencing with pvc coating so should be durable, I looked for some time to try and find the correct item for my needs.
Value for money yes, compared to cheaper variety, and as there was a promotion on was decent cost for the product at my time of purchase I got 2 items 25m in length with a large discount, this item compared with others is more expensive, but on inspection seems very well produced and should last with the additional coating, item packaging is not great 15kg wire fence wrapped in cellophane and in a thin cardboard box. Which arrived opened and damaged, causing the fencing to be in twined and damaged on edges.so May have some wastage when used.
For the cost this was economical as most are either flimsy chicken wire, this can and will have a varied use due to the durability of product for me it was a small garden fence situated on top of a 2ft wall secured by wooden posts and a large area on front of house. Care to be taken with gloves etc due to the wire being Sharpe, shame about delivery not worth sending back for the hassle and delay in return payment from my experience plus I need it as on going projec

I liked the sturdiness of the wire and the ease of moulding it around obstacles Did nt like the way it scratched every exposed bit of body including legs and arms etc time will tell how study it is but I would definitely recommend this wire (I used it for a chicken coup )

We’re using this chicken wire in the garden for two different things, and I’m pleased with it.

Firstly it makes a good support for growing peas up, as you’ll see from my photo of a raised bed. We cable tied it to canes, and the experiment has been a big success.

Secondly we’ve used it to protect some new fruit trees. The house borders woodland, and deer regularly find their way in. The idea of Bambi frolicking in your garden might sound cute, but the blighters eat half the plants, and destroy saplings. They’re really rather a pest, and they can damage natural habitat.

Six new fruit trees were being heavily munched, and were in danger of being killed, so we surrounded them with this chicken wire, attached to vertical posts. The apples, plum and pear tree haven’t been touched since, and have had a chance to generate more leaves before it’s too late for them. Fruit trees are expensive, so saving them from being eaten and killed is well worth the effort.

My sample roll had uniform mesh and has not rusted, so I’m happy.

I needed a good quality covered wire fencing for my square fish pond after Otters got through my netting. I found this one had many good reviews and looked stronger than the cheaper ones advertised. I was not disappointed, it is of good thickness but still pliable. It wrapped round the pond frame well and I fixed it with zip wires. Although it was nearly twice as much as others advertised it was clearly of much better strength and quality and needed to keep the Otters out. I am very happy with this purchase which arrived the day after I ordered it. I highly recommend it if you need a sturdy fence to keep animals in or out.

Here are the pros and cons of this product:

    Pro:

Reinforced at edges and welded for extra sturdiness
    Double-zinc galvanizing coating
One metre high, useful for many projects

    Con:

Very heavy, and can be difficult for one person to fit

    —————

Compared to the many similar products out at the moment, I can say this is a superior quality fencing, which understandably costs a bit more than the cheapest rivals.

Personally I would always pay more for this type of product as it will last longer and also be more effective. The extra rust protection is particularly important, as that is the main thing which destroys chickenwire in the long term.

I estimate you will get twice the useful life out of this product compared to the bargain-basement variety.

Overall this appears well worth the money being asked, at 45.

This is good, strong, sturdy galvanised wire mesh that works out at less than 2 per metre. This has proved very helpful, as we’ve needed to add fencing around the bottom of our hedge – badger or fox, we assume. Something has been coming in to our garden at night, and has pushed a largish hole in our hedge. This wouldn’t be a problem – except we have a mini dachshund with a very sensitive tracking nose who has been trying to trace the garden invader and can get out through the hole it has created into the fields next door. Whatever it is that’s been getting in is big enough that it can push a trellis panel over, so we decided to go for something a big more sturdy and longer, and have stapled this to fencing posts to make the garden more dachshund safe. So far, it’s held up.

Overall, I’m impressed with this wire. It comes in a large roll and it a very good height for all sorts of uses. Although the blurb says that it is strong enough to keep predators out I am not sure that it would really be fox proof and I don’t think that I would trust my chickens to be protected by it. It is great though, perfect for your veg patch or for fencing off areas. One of my dogs is a great escape artist and this is great for patching up those areas where she tries to escape through, or for making a fence a little higher. Many uses and netting that I would buy again.

This chicken wire is fantastic quality. We are in the process of building a chicken coop and run for a trio of silkie hens. This arrived wrapped and boxed and had a really good weight to it. The holes are a perfect size as I prefer the gaps much smaller than standard wire. I was able to secure this to frames and dig down to stop foxes. It’s been up over a week now and it’s very secure with no signs of predators

This does the job well. I am very happy with it. There is not a lot I can say about chicken wire.

It comes in a tall, slim cardboard box just larger than the roll of wire (I mean the manufacturer’s own box, not the one Amazon uses to send it in) which is handy for storage.

I am very happy with it.

This is great, very manageable for light use. Structurally it won’t hold up for itself as it’s chicken wire, not galvanised steel, so foxes and bigger animals might have a chance at gnawing through it, but it works perfectly for my intended purpose of keeping the cats from urinating on my growing vegetables.

Relatively easy to work with, with wire cutters and curved pins to nail the edges in to wood.

  49. Anonymous says:

This heavy duty wire is excellent, the wire is really heavy duty galvanized and hexagonal shaped, the size of the holes is small enough to protect but big enough to allow light air and sight. Its much stronger than the wire I have started my hen house enclosure with, which makes it easier for me to comment about its strength and durability. It require more strength to cut it but its much firmer and I feel more confident that it will last longer and keep taut longer.

I highly recommend this wire in particular for hen houses where the rigidity will help to maintain the shape and be less liable to bend in if an animal tries to get at your hens.

We are using this as got some loose fence posts that need replacing in our pet pig area and Miss the ideal time for trying this item out. We tend to use this type of wire for putting near the bottom of the posts for extra stability along with stock wire. Obviously over time it does wear and degrade what fencing doesn’t. Hopefully this will last until posts need replacing again or if another gap or we redesign the area and need to patch up areas.
Now this big roll of chicken wire is just the job for us or anyone be it in their garden or on a small holding. Luckily we already have wire snippers for making it the right size for around certain areas. A two person job one to hold the roll and one to go round and stretch it that’s the nest way of getting a tighter fit we’ve found. Best wearing gloves to do it as it can hurt like mad if you catch yourself on the ends of it. Really heavy with there so much of it in the box. For us always handy and necessary to make sure we keep some spare rolls of wire in for repairing duck and pig areas.
Had the green coated wire in this range too and must say same quality as that of stuff we have bought from animal supply companies but lower cost plus delivered too.

  51. Jayne says:

Arrived well packed, the wire is rolled up tightly, secured with a thin wire wrapped around it from top to bottom, its then cover in plastic wrap, placed inside a box which is then placed inside an amazon box. It was easy enough to open and the wire wound around it can be used again to secure the roll if you don’t use the length.

In terms of the products is quite good, strong enough that you can’t cut it without wire cutters, its flexible so has some give to it. The holes in the mesh are a decent size, I managed to get some bamboo canes through them without too much trouble. Depending on what you want to use it for its defiantly needs a support frame if using as a barrier otherwise its flops about a bit. So far I’ve created a frame to protect my strawberry plants as well as creating a support for peas, will see how it hold up during the growing season.

First to note this arrives boxed and is very heavy, carful how you handle it.

Quality is excellent, comes rolled, easy to handle when like that.

The Galvanised Hexagonal Wire Mesh Fencing is perfect for lots of things, I wanted it to secure an area in our garden where our dog manages to escape, this is easy to pin to posts and secure the gap, good strong fencing which will weather perfectly.

Very pleased, seems to be well priced after looking at what else is available.

I was pleasantly surprised when my mesh fence arrived, As the roll was generous, Giving me plenty to work with and enough to keep as spare if repairs are needed. The Chicken wire was easy to bend into shape, But retained a strong barrier.

I use these to separate my animals from danger zones, Creating a safe haven for them to roam around in. Since the wire is durable, It can still function well even after being pulled up and reshaped or repositioned. Does the job well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAmagabeli 1Mx25M Galvanized Hexagonal Wire Mesh Fencing

I live in the country where rabbits, pheasants and other creatures are a constant threat to my vegetable garden. I find a fence made from chicken wire is one of the best defences against these pests. Chicken wire is also one of the cheapest options for me.

This Chicken wire is supplied tightly wound and neatly tucked into a tough cardboard box. Our delivery driver was unimpressed due to this being too heavy for her to carry up my steps, yes it certainly is quite weighty.

The wire appears to be good quality, the wire itself is quite thick but not so thick that the wire becomes unmanageable. The galvanised coating seems to be substantial. This is 1 metre in height, supplied in a roll of 25 metres. It is a 2 man job to unroll and stretch this to full size as it does lose it’s shape a little when supplied in a roll. The mesh size is 13mm which is ideal for my vegetable plot. It will also be suitable for rabbit hutches, chickens, guinea pigs and other small animals. It will probably be suitable for a bird aviary too.

I have used this on a walk in cage for my fruit bushes, it’s ideal for keeping the birds off the soft fruit.

Thank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

This looks well made with the tough plastic covering firmly affixed to the wire. The netting is very flexible which is ideal for my purposes as I want to shape it to create domes to protect fruit growing in pots from birds and squirrels. The mesh is small enough that squirrels can’t get through the openings (if a squirrel can get its head though it can get its body through) and I am told that squirrels cannot cut through wire, so while this wire is comparatively thin they should not be able to bite through it. The green covering also improve the appearance, if that is something that matters.
