Recently I purchased a Bissell SpotClean Pro that looks different from the other one that I purchased last year.
In the attached photo, the last year machine is the one with red triangle logo. The recently purchased machine is the one without the red triangle logo.
Is the recently purchased machine a genuine one? It makes me worried as the packaging box has been opened when I received it.
Please advise what are the differences between the two machine models?

It works, easy to figure out. Once you get the right angle your away.
If you only have a few jobs, dont bother buying extra cleaning fluid – it comes with a decent sized bottle

I spilled fish soup on my car interior cloth seats, WORST NIGHTMARE! Nothing was getting out the smell and after a week it turned into a rotting fish smell.
I was left with the option of getting it valeted or buy a spot cleaner. Both would cost around the same and there’s no guarantee that the valet will get the smell out.
Decided to take the plunge and went for BISSELL spot cleaner. Very happy I did as it had no problem getting out fish soup out of the cloth seats.
I love my spot cleaner. I have the larger Bissell carpet cleaner which is excellent but a bit of a faff to bring out for a small spillage. Good suction and excellent cleaning. I did find that the areas I cleaned were still a little soapy so I just sprayed with clean water and went over with just the suction. Perfect!!
Would highly recommend. I’ve had my larger carpet cleaner for 10 years and it’s still going strong so I have high hopes for this smaller version.
I purchased this for two reasons: to help clean sofas that have had kids all over them, and secondly to help clean carpets in the car. Works well for both applications. Cream carpets in the boot of the estate came out really well, nearly brand new despite 180k of use. Sofa (grey) changed colour to the original again. Worth combining with a drill brush for best results in my experience.
Machine is a tad noisy, but it’s cheap!l to buy!
Found this simple to set up and easy to use, although when doing an area larger than cleaning up a small spill, was for myself a little heavy to keep picking up to move, would have been easier if it had small wheels on to pull along. Does clean the carpet though but not quite clear how much cleaning fluid to put in it. All in all not bad for a small cleaner and easy to store away out of sight.
I have only used it twice so far , cleaned stair carpet and a chair , it was brilliant , really powerful and easy to use . The only concern I have is the actual head of cleaner attached to tube is flimsy, I feel it would snap
when using pressure to scrub , I had to keep being mindful of this when pushing down on i
Received today and tested it out on a few spot stains that I could see.
In terms of ease of use it was fairly easy to work out as the instructions lack depth and clarification. Pictographs rather than written steps.
The clean water tank is adequate but does have a drip – despite tightening the valve properly. This is likely not enough to damage the machine in the short term but would likely become an issue if the tank was left with water in it for a prolonged period. I am not sure if this was noticed by anyone else.
The unit is incredibly loud and fairly heavy which one would hope would make it very sturdy. I reserved judgement on this front as we’ve only just received it and only did the one test.
I would imagine this would be fairly difficult to maneuver on stairs as it is bulky and weighty. But again this is a spot cleaner rather than a full area vacuum cleaner.
Per the pics you can see the cleaning power is adequate.
The stains cleaned were where hot chocolate; tea; soup and tomato sauce were messed on a carpet. The only stain that is proving stubborn is that of the tomato sauce. This was on slate grey carpet.
Hoping to try it out in my car soo
The cable is a decent length, the hose is an adequate length, the unit is small enough to store under the stairs and I was embarrassed by the dirt that I removed from the hallway carpet just from trying out the machine. Ideal for small flats and small rooms where it’s not practical to move furniture around to use a larger machine.
I had a Vax carpet cleaner I paid a small fortune for around a year ago. Since day one that had issues with leaking and generally very bad design so I looked to replace it but didn’t want to spend as much in case it was bad again.
I spotted this spot cleaner on sale and whilst my old vax was an upright vacuum, this one is portable. Since I mainly use it to clean the carpet after my rescue dog nervous pees on the floor, I figured this would be fine.
I’ve used it twice so far both on fairly soaked in stains. If anything changes with more use I’ll update the review.
My general thoughts are it’s better designed than the vax with the separate tank attachment. The vax had the issue that despite being advertised a pet vac, it clogged dog hair all through it which couldn’t be removed and stank after a while. By comparison, this one can’t do that except for potentially the brush area under the suction hose. The water sprays from over the top of the collector hose too rather then inside it like the vax one.
Both are extremely loud but I feel initially the vax picked up much better until it started to clog and now they are about the same, maybe slightly less suction on the Bissell. A small patch took me a good few minutes with this and less than one with the vax but obviously this one is more portable so it’s not the same plus this one doesn’t leak.
The little pot that catches small areas you have cleaned instead of going in the big tank is a good idea and makes it much easier to clean up after.
The hose is a bit stupidly designed though. The catch to hold it is a lever but unravelling it, it gets stuck on that same lever area because they didn’t leave enough of a gap. You can pull it out but you need both hands on it because of the bad design.
Overall, as a pet spot cleaner so far so good for the money but it could be better in terms of design, suction and noise.
UPDATE: It’s been about 6 months now and it’s still working fine. The only negative I have is that being a spot cleaner, it can be a bit of a pain getting larger stains up but that’s to be expected. Would recommend.
After reading so many positive reviews I thought to go ahead with this model.
I first tried the machine on my rear back seats which had heavy dirty and sea salt residue from our beach trips.
The results were breathtaking. From the very first pass you could see a huge difference.
I used the included cleaning solution as instructed and with one full tank I managed to do a very good cleanup for all four car seats.
A huge improvement on the reduction of smell was also noticeable.
Overall build of the machine seems to be sturdy and well design with high quality materials.
The extension power cord is quite long, making the transition from one seat to another much easier.
Also the suctions hose is at the ideal length as well.
Cannot stop recommending this product enough.

I had a very dirty stone floor to clean requiring hard scrubbing on hands and knees. The Bissell is ideal for rinsing and removing the dirty water, leaving a dirt free surface. Hugely more effective than a mop and bucket which just moves dirty water back & forth.
Used this on a number of light stains I’d tried to remove before with other sprays etc. Managed to clear up everything. Mostly bought for some light stains I couldn’t budge made by my puppy a year ago. Be warned, once you clean that small section you’ll realise how dirty the rest of your floor is, then it’s a pain to use all over!
A really good cleaner for small areas. The clue is in the name “Spot clean”. It does the job well and is easy to use.
If I was to be really critical, it is fairly bulky, but it does wrap up pretty neatly. You will also get a couple of small leaks from the hose but it is to be expected.
It sucks the dirt right out.
As soon as my cleaner arrived, it was out the box and getting ready to be used. Had to youtube how to use it ie how much solution and water as no instruction book but that was fine.
Done my stairs easily and quickly. They came up a treat, was so pleased with the out come and the amount of dirt was amazing
Would deffo recommend but would also suggest buying a big bottle of the cleaner as its a small one that comes with it.
Only Con is to do a whole room would take ages as this product is hand held and you have to do it on your hands and knees
Bought this to clean my flat after a tenant moved out and had been smoking illegal substances in the lounge (new carpet left very smelly). I used this machine and it was amazing how much dirt it was able to pull out of a recently hoovered carpet. It did leave the carpet feeling quite damp but this did dry fully overnight. I would say that the machine is very easy to use but my partner managed to fill the waste compartment instead of the cleaning solution compartment, and then kept telling me it was broken. The instructions aren’t the clearest but its simple to use once you’ve done it once. Would recommend.
I was skeptical about this at first with the price of it and just being able to get a ‘pro’ into do the same thing.
However after hitting the bullet and getting on an Amazon deal, I would advise everyone considering it to just do the same and go for it.
Cleaned an IKEA old couch to near perfect.
Cleaned another couch, which had just being professionally cleaned by a local company, and still managed to take a serious amount of dirt out as seen in the image.
Cleaned car mats and came out looking great.

Isn’t it great when you buy something that exceeds your expectations? I’m bemused because I can’t work out how it’s so effective. I bought it initially to clean my car seats and carpets as the cost covered the price of a valet. But not only is the clean so good but it’s quick too! Outstanding. The only thing against it is the length of pipe from the machine to the brush. It’s too short. Another 2 foot would have been perfect. If you can handle that? Don’t hesitate. Just buy one 🙂
I ended up getting this machine after the other one by V** did not work on delivery. Sooo glad I did!!! Might be bit more money but seems study and lightweight. I’ve put some images of the actual water tanks and inside of machine, you just fill put container in and switch it on and go! Comes with 2 sized heads and I did a half full tank test and it cleaned loads. Easy to clean the tanks and brush heads also and it has a self clean mode. Very happy 🙂
This is a great piece of kit to own. As a detailer, it brought up the carpets and upholstery to almost new except for the wear and tear. You can watch as the cleaning solution is sprayed onto the carpet, and after finishing the whole carpet, I watched the dirt coming out. Even though the carpet looked clean, the amount of dirt sucked out was very surprising. And the smell was nice. The added Stainguard was a bonus. Instead of having to do a second clean once was enough. For such a small machine, it did a big machine job. And with very little effort.
Firstly I don’t usually write reviews, but this genuinely deserved it!
In the first couple of weeks, this has been used to clean the interior of my son’s 10-year-old car, which came up like new along with various marks on carpets around the house.
Using the warm/hot water and the Bissell liquid gives the best results, leaving the carpets and upholstery slightly damp but clean and dry within 12 hours.
One thing as some people have mentioned the two cleaning heads supplied don’t feel that robust, so hold as close to the end when you are using it so as not to put pressure on the point they join the hose. I can break anything and have given this a real test, but from reading other reviews and knowing this is a weak point I’ve avoided this.
This really is a superb little bit of kit and well worth having available if you have pets or kids to clean up the inevitable spills they can produce.
Easy to use, have done a bedroom, the car and the landing so far… and then the bed after the dog had an accident… and hovered up a full tumbler of water after our toddler threw it. I can see it’s going to be a good investment! Definitley invest in good shampoo though. I used 1001 first and the bissell one and rug doctor ones have been far better. Would have preferred a slightly longer hose but it’s perfectly useable as it is
Very powerful and easy to use the only down side is the cleaning process after use to keep it in tip top condition. The lead is plenty long enough and made the carper nice and clean and fresh after. I have seen plenty of youtube videos of professional car detailers using this in there company’s so it must be a good one if they are using it every day. Not cheap but you get what you pay fo
I’m not one for writing reviews but I felt compelled to big up this bad boy. What a piece of kit!!!! Took out the hardiest of stains on my rugs with minimal effort (I did pre treat area with cleaner) but this just cut through the mess in seconds and watching it go up through the nozzle was grotesque but also very satisfying. Very veyy happy so much so I bought a second one for my mum
This product is great. I do however wish they would give you a slightly longer hose for the extraction part of the machine. Or even sell replacement longer hoses on their website, i would buy one for sure. Thinking about it though i’m sure a longer hose would decrease the suction power slightly. Would recommend this machine
Did a great job of cleaning up a dried coffee stain from a cream carpet. I was not expecting such a good outcome. The tank is a bit fiddly to change, and I was conscious not to apply too much force to the fittings as this is a domestic appliance and not as robust as the ones you can hire. I will only need to hire again if I want to clean all the carpets in the house, thanks to this cleaner.
This is absolutely amazing, my stairs carpet gets often filthy (carpenter in the house and 2 dogs!) you can see how disgusting it is! It’s really easy to use as well. Hand-hot water into the machine along with the detergent (I did 2x the detergent as my stairs were really filthy), spray some out around 2.5cm away from the carpet using the button on the head of the carpet cleaning handle, scrub if necessary (I only had to scrub a few areas, it really wasn’t necessary) and then suck! I would highly recommend this carpet cleane
also we wanted I for any mishaps I.e drink spills etc without having to dig out our large carpet cleaner, for a 5 minute job!
So we ordered the bissell pet pro spot cleaner, as soon as it arrived we took it out the box and decided we would give it a try and see if it was any good.
Set up was simple took seconds, I filled the tank with hot (not boiling water) added the cleaning solution that came with it and carried it to the room where a stain had appeared only a few days ago!
I Plugged it in, switched it on and got to work on the stain!
It was easy to use, and the stain/mark came out easily, however having a karcher puzzi I had something to compare it against.
I noticed that the machine had a design fault, where u attach the cleaning tool a little of the suction is lost, you could hear the air escaping through the clip that connects the head to the plastic connector, this was easily resolved by placing my thumb over the catch fitting, I guess the best way to describe it is imagine you have a vacuum and you are using the hose section and the hose has a small hole… you can hear the air escaping from the small hole and you know/feel that a slight loss of suction is present due to this hole, so you either replace the hose or put some tape around it to solve the problem!!! Well it’s that kind of scenario with the push button fitting that the cleaning tool connects on!
This though was my only criticism/grumble with the machine. As soon as I placed my finger over the push button I could feel the suction power had increased!
Something the manufacturer may want to make note of and rectify when they bring out another model!
Overall very pleased with my purchase, and feel happy knowing that for a quick 5 minute spot clean I can now use this new machine, and be confident in knowing that the mark will come out and not leave the carpet excessively wet!
And then when needed I can dig out my Karcher to do a full carpet clean in each room which will now be less often as I can maintain marks/stains quickly and effectively with the Bissell!
This is only suitable for small areas, It will probably be effective on the stairs and in the car, but to be honest I will use the Karcher to tackle these jobs simply because it would be more practical as it holds more water and wouldnt need refilling /emptying as often!
But this is perfect for what I intended it for!
We were ready to buy new sofas as I just couldn’t get the hard stains out of the arms. With 2 kids under 3 I really didn’t want to waste money on a new one for it to get ruined. I had been looking at the spot clean pro for a while but wasn’t sure…
Well I am amazed at how well it pulls the dirt out, i have been using it on sofas, carpets, rugs and my headboard!

What a great buy! I caught this in the ‘Black Friday’ deals. Absolutely brilliant for stair carpet and spot stains. A couple of weeks after getting, my partner knocked over a glass of red wine on a rug. Before it would have been ruined, but I whipped out the cleaner and within minutes the red wine was removed and there was no stain – Brilliant! Have had no problems with bits breaking or not fitting properly, treat it with respect and you should be very pleased.

Perfect for cleaning ‘toddler worn’ sofas. My little boy is 3 and over the last 3 years we have had lots of spills on our plain dark fabric sofas and they have recently been hidden/covered with throws as general household cleaning products wouldn’t get the marks out! This machine arrived yesterday and I’ve used it immediately and it’s fantastic. The after photo is showing the sofas still damp so the colour is different but the results are superb! Definitely worth the money.
I did a quick spot clean of the living room, cleaned up the areas that the kids had spilled and crushed food and drink into the carpet. Very impressed with the clean up job! Was shocked at the dirty water that came out. Easy to use once I’d watched a YouTube review video .. much preferable to the confusing picture instructions booklet in the box. Great suction and cleaning on carpet, use the spray sparingly so you don’t soak the carpet too much and have loads of water to suck back up. Be careful not to put pressure on the pipe, have read a few reviews where it can snap

The vacuum is nice and powerful
Difficult to use on stairs once you are out of hose reach and you are balancing it with one hand and trying to use with the other.
Power button is fiddly and only works if you press it right, although it works ok
Clean water tank leaks as you insert but not enough to cause a big issue
Main suggestion for improvement is an auto cable winder as the cable is a bit fiddly.
Overall a good machine with a few quirks
This certainly gets the dirt up from the carpet, couldn’t believe how simple it was. Haven’t tried it on upholstery yet, with the smaller brush, but don’t see why it shouldn’t be just as good. Didn’t leave the carpet soaking wet at all, just damp and was dry the next day, even now in December. Motor is a bit noisy, but that’s OK, as it does it’s work really well and obviously needs the suction power, so no complaints.
Well worth the buy.
I cant even begin to say how amazing this thing is . The amount of dirt this thing suctions up is unreal and its so easy to use. I bought for my sofas as I have kids and pets and I was amazed and disgusted how much dirt we had been sitting on! You can actually see the dirty water being sucked up instantly and its so therapeutic Im actually happy now when one of the kids spill something on the carpet as it gives me an excuse to use it. My son has nicknamed it the magic cleaner.
I used to rent a well known brand every few months to keep my stairs and other areas fresh as i have children and pets and I was fed up of the rented product leaving me less than satisfied and leaking all over my house! Since receiving my product I have used it for several high traffic areas including my stairs, front door and back door mat, parts of my lounge carpet and I plan to do the car with it next. You would be amazed how dirty the water is when what you are cleaning doesnt even look dirty. Leaves carpets quite dry completely dries with 1 to 2 hours and the formula leaves a fresh smell and is very efficient at removing marks, dirt and stains. The suction is very strong suctioning up at least 90% of the water used. Very simple to use and the compact design means it can go anywhere. I highly recommend the spot clean pro I wouldnt be without it now!
As I have a number of cats I am constantly needing to clean up after them. Being long haired, fur balls are a constant problem. I have previously owned 2 of the smaller Bissell spot clean, but when the second one broke I thought I’d go up to the larger version. I am very please with it as it has much greater storage capacity so not so many trips to empty it. The suction with the wider hand tool is not as good as the smaller version, but I still highly recommend this product and am delighted with it.
We had a Vax upright with a nozzle attachment, the suction was dire. Floors soaking wet after cleaning, very little picked up. This lovely spot cleaner is great. Suction is better than more expensive rivals. I have some very soiled stairs have done one go at it and the collection tank is black. Will need a good few goes on it to bring it back to original carpet but so far it’s clear the spot cleaner is doing its job well. Good purchase and very quick and easy to use.
Bought about a month ago and used it to clean our sofa. This was the first time I uses a machine like that, usually uses the hand washing foams/sprays.
Was very easy to figure out and I’m very happy with the results. Been using it regularly since.
It’s lightweight and durable, and the tank size is alright. Came with a small brand shampoo sample but sadly the full-size bottle is too expensive for my taste. Needed a second refill for a 2seater but I really went in there, kinda embarrassed how much dirt it was taking out. Also can leave on for long periods of time.
The only downside is the hose is a bit short and have to pick ut up/place on a table to reach some areas other than that this machine is perfect for the price
We looked at some many different models but finally settled on this one. I was a little sceptical about how good it would be and if it would be worth the money. Well… yes it was definitely worth every penny, it turned car seats that had many stains on them into seats that looked brand new again. Was easy to use, it is a little on the loud side however. My rating for stairs is no reflection on the product as I havent used it on stairs so cant rate it properly. All in all very happy with this little machine.
Well, this is so much better than I expected!! What a great little cleaner it is!! Perfect for spot cleans and carpets in smaller rooms. I cleaned the entire carpet in the small loo with it, the settee and chairs and some awful spot stains – All gone and lovely looking. Two cleaning heads come with the unit, the small one is perfect for getting into smaller areas like carpeted areas around a loo.
Comes with a starter bottle of cleaning fluid too.

We tried covers first, but they end up in the same state and the kids just pull them off all the time to reveal our embarrassing sofa.
Rather than fork out 1k on a new sofa, and to try and be eco friendly, we decided to look into custom covers, these would of cost more than the sofa itself. So last chance we tried this cleaner, and wow it’s really amazing, see the results after 1 clean. I’m planning to wait for it to dry and go then over it again so it’s like new.
Do not underestimate this little machine! It is definitely one of the most powerful extractors ive used. Its ease of use is excellent especially if you need mobility. It seems like a tiny tank but holds quite a lot for its size. Its incredibly powerful, so this is not the quietest of machines. Very easy to empty and refill. Works brilliantly on carpets and upholstery alike. But this machine is only as good as the cleaning products you use, so don’t skimp out on cheaper brands. Working in conjunction with a drill brush, carpets and upholstery come up like new.
I will definitely recommend this extractor.
My stair carpets were awful and thinking of selling the house I resigned myself to the fact I would have to replace with new. In a fit of inspiration I thought I would try cleaning them but not optimistic. This product arrived today and I could not wait to have a go. Honestly the carpets were in an awful state, with spillages and dirt over years. Result Brilliant with I must say not that much effort to use either. I am so pleased the machine has already paid for itself and it only arrived 3 hours ago. I don’t think it is that noisy either as I saw reported. OK I am exuberant after first use but such fun to see that black murk being filtered out :-). I can’t wait to have another go. All 5 stars from me.
Arrived today and gave it a try on those places that made me buy this. So far so good. It’s easy to set up and go, but a bit odd to clean when you’re done. Regardless, the places I wanted to clean are looking great. It’s compact, but I do wonder where I’m going to store it. I live in a smaller place so was able to clean my whole carpet in the bedroom with it. It took a while but didn’t mind it.
On unpacking and looking at the manual. My initial reaction was to pack it up and send it back! The instruction manual was just a series of drawings, not a single word. I tried to use the device, but not impressed with the initial results.
Being a retired engineer I persevered. I eventually got to understand how to get the best out of it. I am impressed with the device, though not the manual.
The manufacture might be saving on manual cost, but they could loose sails due to it!
Considering this is a compact machine it’s quite powerful. No it does not dry things instantly but no size of machine does. It took about 8 hours for my settle to dry fully. There are 2 things that could be improved. It’s very noisy. Noisier than your average vacuum and the hose could be a bit longer. It didn’t quite reach the top of the settee without having to lift the unit up. Another foot would be ideal
Please note that you do get a lot of spray from the cleaning attachments so if you have things near by you don’t want to get wet, move them! Also the dirty water tank needs emptying when it’s about half full. The machine stopped sucking and this was the issue.
All in all I’m chuffed with this little machine, I can’t wait to do the stairs and the cars!
I love this little machine, it packs a lot of power into a compact cleaner. We have very mucky dogs and I have used this to make the car seats look like new and smell good. I’ve also used it to clean sofas and quite large long pile rugs with great success. Honestly it is just brilliant.
I have had other makes of washers and they’ve broken so quickly they ended up being a complete waste of money and I don’t think they cleaned as well as this little powerful machine. Okay I have to get on my hands and knees to clean the rugs, but doing it methodically after a really good vacuum you can really see the difference. Plus the rug is almost dry when you finish.
We don’t have stairs, but I’m sure it would be excellent because the machine is so compact and easy to move around.
We have six dogs of varying sizes and believe me they are a really mucky lot, carrying dirt in from the garden all the time. The biggest is a Romanian Mountain dog with huge hairy paws.
I was very sceptical when I was looking for a cleaner of this type after the last, bigger, upright washer was truly awful despite being a very well known brand, it just didn’t last. This Bissell pro is definitely worth the money it’s excellent. I will buy another whenever this one bites the dust, but I can’t see that happening soon.
One last point, that’s really important too, is that it is very easy to clean. That was a big fail on the one I had before this, an upright of a different brand. This is so, so, easy to maintain, keep clean and small enough to store in a cupboard. Don’t hesitate buy it, it’s worth every penny!
I have just bought a 10 year old car that had been sitting creating mould issues. This product was insanely good making the car look brand new! I recommend this to everyone. It’s amazing how much gross dirt you can suck out of car seats and carpets.
The only thing that is an issue is the length of the tube – it’d be great if it was longer. However, this is not a deal breaker – it’s perfect at what it does. Very happy with my purchase.
Great little portable carpet cleaner, very easy to fill and empty – long power cord, suction hose could be slightly longer but for its purpose it works great. I used this to deep clean my outdoor sofa cushions and they came up like new – since then I’ve used this on a couple of carpet stains and areas where black sock dye has transferred onto a cream carpet, both uses came up great.
My only comment would be that the small upholstery attachment has no where to be stored on the machine when not in use. It would be handy to have a dock for this to keep it on-board and compact.
Sturdy, easy to empty and refill. The power cord is lengthy and heavy duty. It is fairly heavy and noisy (referring to a past review) though the performance is as you would want it to be. It comes with a free small bottle of cleaner. So as long as you have water you are good to go straight out of the box. I used it cleaning cushions on an old motor home for at least 4 hours and it did the job perfectly, you could see how much dirt was “sucked” out of the items. I used a motion of spray on, leave for a minute to soak into the fabric then suck it out! Did this a couple of times and now feel that at least the fabric is clean. Great product, now to try our stairs with it.
I am yet to try it on my swede sofa as we are still doing renovations in the lounge area but it has already saved us with saving our very expensive and nearly new hall carpet so well worth the money.
Unlike other machines we have had all parts come apart to clean there is no books or crannies you can’t clean out easily and conveniently 20 minutes of cleaning and the machine showed next to no evidence of having saved my carpet from paint and using it on my daughters rooms since 3-5 minutes to do a full clean after “normal” use it stores so conveniently too being as compact as it is.
I have used it to clean the carpets of two double and a single sized bedroom, 4 single mattresses, one kingsize mattress, stairs, landing and my curtains and so far it has been everything I wanted not as convenient to do large areas as a normal upright carpet cleaner but unlike the uprights it actually cleans throughly, cleans up easily and leaves cleaned area so dry even on a thundery day like we have just had areas dried within a few hours without heating.
Worth every penny. We have only used the Bissell clean and protect Pro that came with it that small 8oz bottle has done everything mentioned I only stopped awaiting two other solutions to come from Amazon and to finish current projects.
I have just purchased the Bissell Spot Clean Pro, and I must say it is superb! I thought I’d try it on an old rug which was being used as a comfy spot for our two dogs. As you can see from the photos the result is night and day! Excellent result and the rug now looks like new again! I used the sample cleaning solution that it came with, and also the bissell cleaning solution with febreeze and it smells gorgeous, plus the cleaning power is awesome! I would recommend this machine to anyone, as it’s well worth the money, well made with a 2 year warranty and the best feature portable. A very happy custome
There were 3 issues I had with it.
1. The instructions tell you to fill the water tank to the lines on the tank BUT there are no lines on the tank. The instructions show that there are 2 lines, the first line is the line you fill the water to, and the second is how much shampoo you need. The actual tank has no markings.
2. It is VERY loud.
3. After you fill the water tank (by flipping the tank upside down and unscrewing the cap), you have to place it back into the machine (by flipping right side up). It would leak a bit of water from the cap. (Not a huge deal though)
Other than the 3 issues which aren’t deal breakers, the machine works very well.
It has very good suction and cleans very well.
So it has taken me til the lockdown to get this out of the box after nearly 2 years! But just used it to clean our car seats and car carpets. They look much better. I cant believe how much dirt came out. It is super easy to use. Occasionally if you move it around too much, the suction goes so I just turned it off, made sure 2 water tanks and the suction pipe were in place and turned it on again. It then operated normally again. I can’t compare it to any similar product but I am very pleased with it. I am going to do the stairs next but I dont think you want want to use it for large areas.
Bought this to clean the car seats and stairs but ended up cleaning the dog with it after walks (with just hot water in it) more often. This keeps the carpets clean.
Doesn’t leave your settee/carpet/seats/dog as dry as some cleaners and the hose is a tab on the short side.
Fortunately the power cord is plenty long enough and this unit is nice and light so you carry it with you without too much trouble.
The nozzles look well designed and don’t look like they’ll block, time will tell.
I like it.
Our 21 year old cat has started leaving little gifts for us all over the house and having seen car detailers using these to clean seats and carpets I thought this was worth a try. Worth every penny. It’s small so easy to break out when Socks has laid an egg and it cleans up in less than a minute. I also used it to clean the car seats, amazing how much dirt lurks in black cloth! My 28 year old 200,000 miles seats came to like new.I
Wouldn’t want to clean a whole room with it but it’s a spot cleaner so that’s not what it’s for but for car cleaning it’s perfect. And if you have an incontinent cat!
I have a couch which has the cushions attached so the covers don’t come off. Because of this it hasn’t been properly cleaned in the 2 years we’ve had it first pic is what I got out of a whole 3 seater sofa. I live in an upstairs house so have stairs that lead from the front door inside. Pics 2 and 3 are 2 tanks from them. I have a horrible beige carpet on the stairs so the dirt doesn’t show up too bad but just goes to show you never know how clean something actually is
What a great little machine this is! Easy to use and the head is small enough to get into those little crevices a big carpet cleaner can’t. Although the awful instructions (no text!) put me off initially, the product is actually very intuitive to use. Fill one chamber with water and cleaning fluid, watch the other fill up with dirty water as you clean. Simples. It can be more time consuming to use over a larger space, but that’s probably because I’ve been so intent on going over the same patches time and time again to get the water clear. Quite therapeutic in its own way 🙂
Not one for reviews but had to leave comment for this fine bit of kit… got a new fabric sofa just over year ago and managed to spill a whole manner of things on it tea, wine, greasy lamb chops, lager… the past few weeks it was getting me down how filthy it was tried all little home remedies and non of them worked, some made it worse… was about to get it professionally cleaned until I come across this… I thought I might as well bite the bullet an give it a go and I’m glad I did. Sofa looks brand new again thanks to this little contraption… well worth the money
Well I wasn’t sure what to expect but it has done an amazing job on our sofa, which has suffered at the hands of our two young boys!! I’ve had great success on the carpet spots too. Now whenever there’s a little spill, I just bring out the bissell and it’s gone! I realised quickly that I only need to fill the water tank half way, as you don’t need to use too much water (more to suck up, anyway). It’s really easy to use, yes it’s got a short hose but you would lose suction with anything longer. The cord is very long to make up for it. You do have to push down really hard on the fabric to get the water up, and manually spray using a trigger, so it’s not really suitable for people with hand strength issues (as I do in one hand). I knocked a star off for this. Otherwise, it’s great…see before and after pics 🙂
This was bought as a panic buy after my 13 year old collie decided to redecorate the very expensive bedroom carpet with her posterior.
The stain was horrific and no amount of vanish could get the brown sheen off the carpet.
I bought this item and went to town on the stain about 7-8 times using the manufacturers solution and the oxygen booster.
It’s gone! No more reminders of her accident!!
NB : This does come with a small tester solution that will last you about 4-5 full cleans. My advice would be to buy a full solution and the oxygen boost to reduce the amount of cleans and elbow grease required.
I bought this having studied reviews for various machines, with this one seeming to come out fairly well. The only negative comments I’d seen were about struggling to get the water/liquid chamber out for emptying. On arrival I found the cleaner quick and easy to put together. I’d recommend reading the instructions through a couple of times, but it’s all very straight forward. The cleaning liquid chamber took a minute or three to work out how to remove it for filling, until I realised you have to push the top handle as far forward as it will go….it needs to be pushed right over the top towards the other side of the machine. Perfectly easy when you know the knack. Easy to fill. Easy to slot the parts on to. Compact. Stylish design. It is quite heavy when filled, but I managed to get it up and downstairs ok. I’d recommend using the ‘stubborn stains’ treatment spray for heavy soiling, but even on my old stained carpet it got fairly good results. Now I have a new carpet down, I’m happy it will help me keep any stains at bay. I did apply some pressure when sucking up the water to get the carpet as dry as possible. Some reviews say they managed to break the pipe doing this, but I made sure to apply the pressure at the base ‘head’ of the unit, so as not to impact on the joint where the cleaner head attaches. All in all I think very good value for money. Good cleaning for such a small machine!
It does clean the carpet, but it takes a lot of time and effort! Not very good against dog urine on a cream carpet, still have the stains but at least I know I have reduced the contamination! and I feel that the dirty aspect is safe. Glad that I have brought it as I have a young small dog who occasionally has accidents in the house and it does help reduce the damage.
I wish I had take a before picture of my couch to show the amazing job. I have a big cream corner couch and previously I had booked someone to come and clean which would cost up to 100. Looking on the reviews I decided to spend that money in this item and I couldn’t have been more right! The stains on my couch where quite bad (have a dog and two young children) but I managed to get rid of every single stain with no problem. Scrubbing effort was put but with the right shampoo it did a great job! Super happy and could not recommend this enough! Superb!
This product is just amazing!! The best 149.99 I have ever spent!! I love this, I originally got it because I was buying a new fabric corner sofa and wanted to keep it clean etc being a family of 5 with 3 wild boys since having this I’ve managed to get goo and putty out of my boys carpet that had been stuck for well over a year.. as I couldn’t get it out.. I’ve sucked up a can of cola spillage my (partner not sons) spilled on the sofa phew. I’ve also cleaned our 3 mucky bulldogs futon bed which was absolutely disgusting and a completely different colour once clean this is what I’ve used as proof of good purchase.
I was worried about parting cash for something that might not work. This is a great little machine that does a better than average job of cleaning pet stains and household spills. I’ve given it four as, while it’s neat and portable and simple to use, it does require a lot of elbow grease to get good results. And you really can only do small patches at a time. Like two metres squared maximum.
If you buy one, don’t be tempted to overdo the cleaning fluid or you will end up with foamy, saturated carpets. DO buy the Bissell pet stain remover fluid as it leaves a really pleasant smell.
And be prepared for the treated area to stay damp for 24 hours, despite claims.
Tried it out on some carpet near the front door that was soiled, outisde area of the rug, came out quickly, but i suspect that was the bissel solution rather than the machine a small bottle comes with the machine (atleast it did with mine).
The brush bristles on the 2 heads included with the machine, are too long, as when you go to suck the solution up, there is a need to tilt the head forward, and press down a bit too hard for the suction to come in contact with the carpet
an attatchment with just a suction head, or the ability to remove the brush part would be so good otherwise a great product.
I had phone in hand ready to YouTube as well as I usually need help with instructions but there was no need.
Switched the machine on and thought I’d done something wrong as the water didn’t magically appear to spurt out when I pressed the button, 20 seconds later it did. I know realise that happens everytime one has to fill the tank with just a little water.
Pee gone, no stain, no smell, carpet slightly damp but not soaked.
Went looking for another dried in stain, found one down the side of a table, spilt tea, wet the carpet, let it sit in the solution for a few seconds then a few pushes over the stain and whoohoo stain had gone.
As you can imagine I then went house hunting for stains as the machine isn’t heavy or cumbersome so I could carry it around ( and iv had a stroke so pretty weak in my right arm ) but it was no bother.
It sat perfectly on my stairs and the cable is very long so didn’t need to plug/unplug.
The only thing I did youtube was how to empty the dirty water, all the videos bar one had it wrong, pull handle over the jug the waters in and the lid will come off, easy pee-sy ( get it )
Brilliant addition to have in your home, would highly recommend.
Apart from that no complaints so far although I really wish the manufacturers of these machines would make the dirty water container easier to empty and clean out. You always get dirt stuck in the corners that you can’t reach!
I know this is technically a spot cleaner, but I have done large segments of carpet quite happily (hands and knees job).
I thought it would be wet for days, but it was touch-dry almost immediately, and properly dry by the next day.
I was skeptical as I’ve used a different brand of upright wet-cleaner for this job in the past and it just didn’t have any real results.
Am genuinely really impressed with the Bissell Pro version, the more powerful motor was a good choice.
Received the BISSELL SpotClean PRO very recently and have tested it on a couple of stains on an upholstered settee. It performed quite well although the remaining dampness was somewhat more than I anticipated. No major complaints but I am wondering how long the plastic end on the hose will last – it is made of very thin and seemingly brittle plastic. Would not advise too much downward force when in use. However, it does the job and is compact and easily stored plus a two-year limited warranty.
With the arrival of a new puppy in the house we decided we needed a different approach to cleaning up Accidents. With previous dogs we used a full size upright carpet cleaner with the hose attachment. This did the job but was very cumbersome and heavy to move around the house for just little patches. I saw this little machine on Amazon, looked at some alternatives but decided to order the Bissell SpotClean Pro. We have used it now for over a week. It is perfect for spot cleaning, easy to move around, great suction and really convenient hose and cable storage around the machine. Cleaning wise id say the suction is better than an upright with a hose attachment (we have the latest Vax upright). Be aware the tools are for small spot stains only, so this will not suffice to clean any significant area. It sucks out the pet urine from carpet easily, spray after with the Bissell pet stain spray then rinse and suck out the remaining liquid. No stains have been left with the areas we have SpotCleaned. A must have for accident prone puppies.
Pros: easy to use; easy to clean; leaves carpets/rugs nearly dry (as long as you don’t use too much solution); cleans and performs better than the full-sized Rug Doctor machine I hired a couple of years ago.
Cons: quite noisy; a bit on the heavy side once it’s filled with water; the design of the nozzle means you can press the spray button without meaning to (which means a damper carpet); and I really wish it had a retractable cable. But I can live with all those because it’s just so good!
It’s not, however, a miracle worker, and you might need to wash heavily soiled carpets a couple of times to get them as clean as you want – but you’ll still get good results after one wash.
The car is 9 years old and l have had it for 4 of those 9 years with mucky grandchildren.
As it was the first time i have ever done this was really pleased with the results.
I would advise when cleaning though..
1. Do it on a dry warm day
2. Have no need to drive the car after as the seats do remain damp even after all the suctioning and will take 24hrs to dry thoroughly.
The product was smaller than I expected, which was a positive for storage. I used to have a similar model, which was a different shape, and was expecting this to be far more bulky. I like the fact that it comes with 2 heads, big and small, which makes it useful for use on the carpet, as well as the seats in the car. I found the waste water bucket a little tricky to empty, as it felt a little flimsy, however, with a few uses, this has eased up, and I now have more confidence that it won’t break.
Overall, I love this product for the every day spillages and accidents that come from pets and children.
After hearing a few people online talk about Bissell little green machine and it was great I decided I would take the plunge on the Pro portable carpet cleaner. Its fantastic, brilliantly and great for cars. Sure you do have to refill fairly often but a small price to pay for what is a cracking machine that won’t break the bank either.
Never had any problems with it leaking like some of the review say – I’d say they just didn’t connect it all up properly.
All in all it’s fab. I’ve lent it to a couple of friends and they have all really enjoyed borrowing it.

This machine is brilliant. I have a Bissell carpet cleaner at home which is also brilliant. I needed a smaller upholstery cleaner for the work chairs and furniture so I went for Bissell. Looked at others with around the same price this one gave the thumbs up as the motor was much larger. I always look for the size of the motor when buying any type of machinery. It does not disappoint. The ease of loading the liquid tanks, the ease of cleaning the tanks just like my own carpet cleaner beautifully designed for anyone to use. Portable and long leads, the two size of heads cope with all furniture awkward parts. For the price you could not beet it. I have tried it and will 100% say the dirt that came out of the furniture was embarrassing but felt so much better after a good clean. I know this sounds like a sales pitch and I am not one to give a full star easily but this one gets my full support.
